We had booked the entire Guchhi restaurant for a Silver Anniversary party, The presentation of starters was great but they were all cold. The food preparation was Yum..specially the Tomato dhaniya soup, Dal Makhani, Masala Maggie & Veg Biryani. Amritsari Chole was a disapointment. The Service was good & quick.
Went for lunch with my wife in Guchhi . It was amazing experience in respect of food and hospitality. Chef Zamir and Chef Uttam prepared the best signature dish Guchhi tawa masala, and the chuzza Makhanwala was also great as it was not so sweet and the flavours were really mouth watering. Thanks to Mr Tamal for his hospitality. Only thing which I did not liked were the old sofas which is there and also theme of Guchhi was like normal simple restaurant where u cannot enjoy the ambience cause I feel when u go to Hyatt you need better ambience with best food. All in all good experience.
It was an amazing experience. Mr. Malay was really great staff n he helped me to choose the perfect dishes to make my evening more amazing. Great food taste, amazing ambiance and great courtesy of the staff. All together a very good experience. Love to visit again. đ
Sophisticated and worth the wait.
Went for a family dinner. Royal setup and pretty nice ambience. Experienced a warm hospitality by Malay and others. Coming to food.. We ordered Afghani chicken tikka, Dhaba mahi tikka and Murgh Mulligataway soup. The soup was amazing and so was the chicken starter. I personally felt the fish starter could have been better. Biriyani tasted really good by chef Musa. It was not the authentic potato and egg Biriyani most of us are used to. But it had a unique taste of its own. Dum k kareili was a mutton dish which had a strange taste of its own which I didn't enjoy much. Overall a nice experience with a scope of improvement in the food area.
Should I say say âI am biasedâ!! No it will reflect in my review, so guys we were 5 friends decided to visit Guchhi!! Reason was very simple, it was reunion of old Hyattians!! We use to work with Hyatt and so our reunion venue was Guchhi!! Guchhi is vibrant since day one!
Now we became less eater so we ordered Raan, Afgani chicken, fish tikka, Daal, and breads! Raan was succulent, juicy and great in taste so the other food!! Food and service was outstanding and hope to visit again!!!
Cheers to team Guchhi!!!!
Amazing service. Excellent food. Great hospitality. Special thanks to chef sanjeet n Musa for nihari mutton.
Thanku for making us try the unique rose falooda dessert . Thanku malay n gautam for making our evening so special
I took my family to this place for lunch. The food was delicious and it was a great experience. Worth very penny spent! I will surely visit again. Highly recommend!
Just came from the 5 course set menu dinner in Guchhi and I should start by saying that it was delightful. The setup could have been more romantic but nonetheless , it was romantic enough and the staff were courteous. The Guchhi Dal is one of the best I have ever had , amazing biryani and the deserts were delicious.
Overall I can say that the food can be improved :)
Thisbon in the hyatt regency kolkata needs no intro ..super great food wether malai broccoli or the Signature Dal. the service as well good as Hyatt.
We went Guchhi to celebrate our anniversary. The service was beyond expectation and cannot be expressed in words. Thanks Mr. Malay for your great hospitality, I am speechless.
The ambiance was good, food quality and taste was awesome.
One should definitely try its bharwan malai gucchi its like a must try other than that itâs biryani and peshawari naan, else everything else is good
Absolutely mind blowing, right from the starters to the main course. From broccoli tikka, Paneer tikka, tandoori aloo to the main course staples of Paneer butter Masala, dal makhani and aloo ki subzi, they belted out one delicious item after another. All the breads were flawless be it kulcha, roti or naan and not to forget the biryani. Probably the one of the best North Indian place in town.
Such a, such an amazing place and ambience. Respectful staff and generous food quantity as well as quality. We ordered chicken Afghani kebab, chicken Biriyani, Naan, and Mutton Rogan Josh. I can't say that I found even one fault with the food. Out of the world!! Beautiful experience!
A classic fine dining coupled with great food as well as exemplary service defines our experience at this place. Guchhi is a name synonymous to luxury brands â be it Guchhi bags or be it Guchhi restaurant of the Hyatt chain of hotels! Based at the ground floor of the Hyatt residency, Sector 3, Saltlake, this one provided us a memorable dine-in experience!
We ordered the below: -
(i) Veg kebab platter â This comprised 2 pieces each of 4 types of kebabs â tandoori aloo, paneer tikka, corn seekh kebab as well as broccoli kebabs! All the 4 tasted pretty decent, be it the stuffing in the tandoori aloo, or the marination of the paneer tikka, or the crispiness of the corn kebab or the broccoli topped with malai! Not to forget the mint chutney as well as the rural pickle they served along as well as some lachcha salads!
(ii) Subz Ala mara â This is basically mushrooms stuffed with paneer and marinated in tomato gravy. They served 4 niggard pieces of such mushrooms in tremendous amounts of gravy â the gravy is so tasty you can have it all by itself without any side dishes, although the pieces seemed a bit chewy!
(iii) Guchhi Subz Biryani â Their signature biryani â very well prepared in almost nil quantity of oil without compromising on taste â not to miss out on mentioning the generous amounts of chopped carrots, beans and of course mushrooms!
They serve complimentary Raita and mirch ka salan alongside biryani â the former tasted fine, whereas the latter was also not bad.
They serve unlimited baskets and refills of fryums as well as roasted papads which are a great add-on to the already very tasty main course and are also great munch-ons while gossiping with your friends â good for time pass!
Overall, a great experience â only limiting factor to a re-visit is the sky-high prices, otherwise this place warrants a must visit!
Obviously this fine dining place is just amazing. The ambience and the sitting area near lawn is nice.Staff is nice too.Coming to the food,as vegetarian totally loved it.very nicely made. But quantity could increase.Over all nice experience.
We went to Guchhi to have dinner on 17th October which was holiday in Durga Puja. The restaurant was decorated with Durga Puja Festivities and all the hosts and server were dressed in their Punjabis for the festive occasion. The Restaurant was also decorated for the festive season.
Surojit Bhowmick was our host for the day.
We asked him for suggestions in Main Course. We placed order for 2 portions of Dal Makhani (Called as Dal Guchhi in menu)Â and one portion of Mixed Vegetables. We asked him to make all the breads crisp and also asked him to serve one portion of Dal Makhani after we finish off the first portion
All the dishes were served piping hot and the breads were crisp as per our requirements. When we were through with breads we ordered for Jeera Rice and we also asked him to alter it and serve with a topping of Fried Onions. As we had already placed order for 2 portion of Dal Makhani and one was already served we wanted to change the other portion to be cancelled and instead wanted Yellow Dal. The server Surojit Bhowmick readily agreed to change it to Yellow Dal but he said as he had already punched in the system the bill will be for Dal Makhani only.
The Yellow Dal and Jeera Rice with toppings of Fried Onions was very good so were all the other dishes and breads.
We ordered Firni and Mishti Doi in desserts. Was disappointed with Firni as it tasted more like Khir or Payes and less like Firni. Firni had very strong ingredient of Saffron in it. The smell and taste of Saffron was lingering in mouth long after we consumed it.
All in all a wonderful experience made more memorable by Host's accommodating service.
Food is genuinely good, but yea price is the matter but honestly speaking when you're visiting a place like Hyatt I guess you won't be thinking about price ..
A contemporary Indian speciality Resturant at Hyatt Regency Kolkata. It serves Indian dishes and the menu is not very eloborate yet very well crafted. They have put up the best dishes and the short menu makes it easy to order without much brainstorming.
I would highly recommend the Dhaba Mahi tikka ( Fish) for appetizer. For Main course Mutton Nali with garlic naan, Mutton Raan Biryani and the Guchhi Dal which is a different version of Dal Makhani cooked overnight for 12 hours. It is creamy, slightly sour and midly spicy and goes perfectly with a naan or Steamed rice. Would highly recommend to try the Garlic pickle. They have a Great selection of wine that can be paired with your food. The service is impeccable as expected in a 5 star.
We had been to this place to have the food from the Mughal era. We were spoilt by the choice. The food was amazing and so was the service. The quality of meat was commendable. The dal makhani was one of the best I had by far. The place had a very comforting ambience. The servers kept on refilling our papad platter and pampered us to the core. It was my first time and will be back soon!

Rediscovering The Recipes of Mughal Era
Yes, its the Mughlai cuisine that is all soaked with creamy, richly flavours, that excites you in every bite of it, leaving a rich culinary legacy with its dishes developed in Medieval age at the centres of the Mughal Empire with a unique combination of cooking style and recipes flowing from Central Asia and North India.
Guchhi, Hyatt Regency, Salt Lake City, Kolkata - city's fine dining signature restaurant has diligently dug into the roots of lost recipes and cooking methods that are heavily laced with history and executed in the magnificent kitchens of the royal Mughal Empire.
Its the richness that proudly speaks on the plate about the evolution of Mughlai cuisine through a gastronomical journey - 'FORGOTTEN FOOD OF MUGHAL ERA' - a week-long dinner festival from (22-Sep-2018 to 30-Sep-2018) at Guchhi, Hyatt Regency, Salt Lake City, Kolkata that boasts an array of remarkable Mughlai delicacies â giving rebirth in an elaborated manner to the most delicious, richest flavoured 'Sahi' curries, kebabs, biryanis polished in the royal kitchen and bringing life to the gift-giving culture of food as a part of Mughal traditions.
The executive chef Uttam takes every guest through a spicy trail by putting a royal-inspired menu with an amalgamation of aromatic spices, dried fruits and roasted nuts that are distilled to perfection. Thus polishing the art of lost recipes of Indian aromatic food culture left by the Mughals which was evident during the conversation with the chef.
 Coming to the Decor -
The entrance sprawls into a spacious open kitchen that adds a classy touch of a traditional North Indian style theme.
The colour tones and the antique kitchenware, crafted food jar displays, brass shelving, live tandoor along with the rustic light fixtures throw a taste of elegance to the whole ambience, thus giving the diners a home feeling while you enjoy the delightful meal.
An appealing decor that's laden with glazed classy wooden dining accessories dressed up with fine art cutleries and Mughal Style Brass HandMade Hookah to keep pace with the theme adds a lavish taste and of course comfortable seating arrangements to experience the premium dining with the finest food along a facility to dine in private.
In a few words, the decor proudly speaks the brand to ensure an exceptional dining experience that satisfies every guest.
IN FRAME -
Our royal journey kicked off with some hearty signature cocktails from the bartender's den that silently passes the cool message of refreshments, relished in every sip.
The date with royalty was welcomed by
Mughlai Paratha -
An extreme Mughal influence on the street food of Bengal flowing from the kitchens of Nawabs. Crumbled lamb mince smeared with egg and ground spices generously stuffed in paratha (flat bread) and shallow fried on low flame to bring its flaky texture. Very delightful.
Lagan Ki Boti -
Marinated boneless lamb cubes with yoghurt, onions, seasoned with ground mace cooked in thick smooth curry sauce until dry. Very moist and succulent meat. The flavour of the dish is pre-dominantly laced by the warmer, nutty taste of the mace powder coming from the same tropical fruit that produces nutmeg.
Shaan-e-Raan Musallam -
The 'Shaan' of Mughal's richness that comes with a unique taste of mutton roast. The marinated leg of lamb cooked slowly in a deliciously spicy masala always stands out from the crowd that reflects the touch of royalty to delve the taste buds. The meaty strips falling off from the bones reflect the chef's brilliant skills of execution to its perfection.
 Paya Parda Biryani
Lucknowi Parda biryani - a great example of culinary excellence.
A unique combination of lamb nalli (lamb shank), rice and spicy masala base layered together in a sealed (parda) earthen pot (dum style) to preserve the beautiful flavours of this scrumptious dish. The aroma released from the delicately perfumed saffron rice infused with the spices smeared with the meat is simply mesmerizing.
Murgh Musallam -
A taste of nostalgia on the plate and eye appealing due to its vibrant colour and sleek presentation. The rich and regal Murg Musallam is a party fare relished in every occasion. Mughlai-style stuffed roasted whole chicken slowly cooked in a marinade of rich and creamy gravy of dry almond, yoghurt and saffron, Indian spices from royal Mughal families of Awadh served on a bed of fragrant rice and boiled eggs on the side. The deep flavours of the marinade enveloped on the chicken were very prominent.
Chicken Chaap -
The scintillating lip-smacking Chicken Chaap - another Mughal inspired recipe. Slow cooked chicken with bones in a thick oily gravy of poppy seed and Indian spices accompanied by Parantha. The 'Sahi' flavour of the gravy and the succulent chicken pieces truly reflects the traditional Mughlai preparation on the plate.
Thank you so much, Puja Singh for the warm invitation and your gracious hospitality.
Please extend my thanks to the team for their warm service.

Delicious Indian food, great hospitality. Starting from Tomato Shorba, paneer tikka, alu dum red gravy specified, kali dal, roti & biryani. Staff was very helpful and always carried a smile.
It was just perfect. I am sure to visit more often.
Located conveniently in EM Byepass, Gucci is the North Indian restaurant of hotel Hyatt.
In starters: Ordered Gucci Mushroom, Matar Tikka and Malai Brocolli. All were amazing especially the mushroom. It was mind blowing.
In Main course: Malai Kofta, Guchii Dal and Subz Ala Mara. Guchhi Dal being the signature dish doesnât really needs a review. Ala Mara is a must try and tastes spicy n sweet at the same time. Malai Kofta can be given a miss considering you have Gucci Paneer which is amazing preparation of mushroom stuffed with paneer.
In desser, Shahi Tukda is one of the best dishes to be tried.
Price: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Food: 4.5/5
Ambience: 4/5
An experience to remember. Just the perfect fine dining experience. Right from the ambience to the service and food, everythingâs worth a mention. The Guhcci Dal is a must must try. One of the best North Indian food places in the city.
Beautiful place to dineout with family or couple. A romantic place. North Indian food at its best. Ravishing place. Loved it.
I had been to many 5* before but, north indian food is best here. Pleasure to review.
Excellent service by ashif and Gautam. Food was delicious . Service warm and courteousđ you guys made the evening more special. Keep up the good workđ
It's really a good place.
Warm welcome, decent food.
Spent a good time there. Wish to visit again.
Interior is very nice and spacious.
keep it up
I loved it. Food was yummy ,fresh and nice. It was buffet kinda. I loved there blue glasses the most . Ambience is also very nice . The only problem I had was not to slip thats it. Will surely visit again. A perfect place for family dinner with great hospitality with eye catching starters.
Very much pleased with the quality of food and hospitality...
Good ambience.. very well trained staff.. Overall very good fine dining experience.
Must have-
Seekh kababÂ
Mutton Rogan Josh.
And the Guchhi dal.
I have had a variety of experiences of the food quality & taste at many 5 five star hotels. Must say this place has met my expectations. I tried their north Indian cuisine which I totally loved. Must try is dal makhni...
Pasta and pizza that we had was scrumptious. Salad was pretty disappointing as it wasnât well seasoned and it didnât have much flavor. It was freezing inside and we told the staff to raise the temperature but they werenât doing so. Coffee tiramisu was soft, creamy, had the perfect texture and the coffee flavor wasnât v strong which was good. A perfect end:)
So today we checked in to Guchhi. We ordered a green salad ,asparagus soup, penne pasta and pizza .for dessert asked for tiramisu. The ambience was good but unfortunately the A.C. was too high..we nearly froze and inspite of our repeated request the girl who was attending to us couldn't do much to set it right.Pasta was scrumptious and pizza was good too.Salad was soggy but soup was delicious.Loved the tiramisu too.

To be Very honest This place is not for me But I got A golden opportunity to visit This place. Really loved this resturant and the food was amazing also !! Unfortunately forgot to click pics , only clicked some of the pics of the desserts.
Never had a good opinion of the food at the Hyatt but a recent visit dispelled that notion. Went in a group of eight after a short stint at the bar upstairs. Opted for a set menu which is always convenient in a large group and must say that I was rather surprised by the quality of the food. Indeed, almost everything we ate was good and the service wasn't bad either. The only thing that could be better is their wine collection which was surprisingly limited for a fine dining establishment. Not a bad option for a good meal in the area.
The ambience is awesome. Place is very beautiful and the food was very tasty. Offcourse it is costly but am very satisfied with the food and service. Not so crowded place. Very much private. Allover I loved it
The place serves the city of Kolkata with a very stupendous buffer with various types of foods ... Has a wide variety of food with live kitcgen options . A perfct place for family dinner with great hospitality with eyecatching starters.
Very much pleased with the qualty of food and hospitality...
I took me years to visit Guchhi because of negetive feedback that I had received regarding the food. Hyatt's Event Sales Manager....Mr. Subhasish Majumdar convinced me to try the food and then judge. He assured me that I would not return disappointed. Right he was!! Visited Guchhi on 4th Nov'17 with friends and family. We were a group of 10 with mixed prefernces. To start with...we ordered Paneer Tikka ...Malai Broccoli....Tandoori Aloo and Fish Irani. The food was fresh and flavourful. The serving was decent. The main course comprised of Yellow Dal Tadka....Dal Makhni....Spinach Malai Kofta and Tandoori Fish Masala. The breads were assorted....Kulchas...Naans and Parathas. Everything served was excellent but the Dal Makhni and Spinach Malai kofta stood out. Yesterday's experience ensures that Gucchi has us hooked for times to come! A word of caution....though the staff was warm....the service was very very slow. The hotel management must ensure that service speed improves soon.
Amazing food... Have been there quite a few times now.. consistency of flavour every time. Good ambience.. very well trained staff.. Overall very good fine dining experience.
Must have-
Seekh kabab ( though the menu on Zomato doesn't have that, it's the in the menu)
Mutton Rogan Josh ( won't find mutton better cooked)
And the Guchhi dal.
One of the best fine dining places in Kolkata and among my personal favourites... The food quality, service and ambience is so great that you would enjoy yourself thoroughly!
Miss some of the old signature dishes (which are no longer in the menu), but the new menu has some great new offerings. Definitely worth an occasional visit now and again.
P.S. Like all other five star and above restaurants, this one's a little heavy on the pockets.
Service was just amazing. They took every care that we were very comfortable. The only concern we had was that the tawa tabzi had lot of oil. The paneer Tikka was insane. So so good.
But again. The place, ambience and service was amazing. Definitely a go to place.
An awesome place with very good service and excellent food. Being vegetarians , We ordered paneer tikka, tandoori aloo and broccoli for the starters and all were amazing except for the paneer tikka which was a bit bland. For main course we had dal makhani , paneer butter masala , mushrooms etc and all were too good. We had a lot of desserts too which were all just awesome. We got a complimentary cake too since it was our parent's anniversary.

My entire rating is for the management and the very finely trained staff.
Everyone was very polite n well mannered .
The chefs were humble n available.
The food was good too , although there was not much variety in non veg . The non veg menu needs an upgrade and the quality of the meat, be it chicken mutton or beef, needs improvement, so -1 for that.
Overall had a really good time.
Went for a conference bt cudnt concentrate as i was amazed by the decor đ wat a combination of class n taste.., a must visit for luxury lovers..
This has been on my bucket list for quite some time. Finally visited the famed "Guchhi" on my birthday to get a feel of Hyatt experience with my family. We ordered Raan-e-Sikandari and Sizzler Prawn for starters, along with Long Island Ice tea and Fruit punch as beverages. Both were equally delicious, but they should increase the number of prawn pieces in accordance with the price the dish commands. For the main course, we went for butter naans, paratha, Gosht Biryani, the signature "Guchhi daal" and Murgh Lababdar. Needless to say, all were equally delectable and toothsome. Particularly, the aroma of the daal and succulent juicy pieces of chicken lababdar made it worth the wait. Our deserts included Rasmalai and Coconut flavoured kulfi, both of which didn't live up to my expectations. The minimalist decor and the excellent service leaves no room for complaints.
Overall a very memorable experience.

Visited last Tuesday with a big group on a client dinner. The place was empty when we started. Minimal decoration but gives you that plush feeling. The service was great. Among the food the mutton and prawn dishes were star of the show. Since I didn't place the order I don't know there names but you can order blindly and you'll be satisfied. They cook each dish with care and perfection. Even the clients coming from outside india were thoroughly impressed.
Reserving 0.5 for my next visit when I can try the desserts đ
Been there with my family, the ambience was great and so was the food. Overall I had a great experience!
Food: 8.5/10
Ambience: 9/10
Staff: 10/10
We went to Guchhi to celebrate a friend's birthday party. The staff was extremeley courteous and the ambience is as amazing as can be expected of a 5 star restaurant. The buffet was good, with a lot of items on it,but yes it most definitely was not out of the world good. But,overall a great place to have a luxurious time with friends and family. The 4 star rating depicts my entire experience that I had there.
Well had the buffet
The ambience was nice and it was my first time and i have to say i am impressed and tbh i do love their kheer XD and overall a wonderful place to eat where we do love to see the food as its kept artisticly nd the food is yummy also ..............
I loved it. Food was yummy ,fresh and nice. It was buffet kinda. I loved there blue glasses the most . Ambience is also very nice . The only problem I had was not to slip thats it. Will surely visit again. One thing I forgot to mention that it was from free vouchers and not some casual dine in , so service or food might have varried.
Been there for an event.
Location: Just beside the Waterside Cafe in the Ground Floor.
Ambience: Excellent. The decorations, the alignment of buffet, lighting everything is perfect. You will be able to feel the traditional touch in every corner.
Service: Just Spectacular. Curtsey, Behavior is just excellent. I was amazed to see that even the Clearance of plates, was so prompt even in high rush.
Food:
1) Plating and Presentation of buffet is very attractive. The buffet spread is also very good.
2) I was very happy with the taste of the food. Each of them was warm. I have eaten so much of things that I am not able to remember the name of the items. But one thing that stole my mind was the Chilla. It was so so good.
3)Desserts are the star of the show. I have not eaten better desserts than this ever before . All of them were so amazing that you have to taste it. Basically I am not a true fan of desserts. But people like me also was so compelled to concentrate on the desserts from the beginning.
Overall Experience: Superb
Being a five star the ambience obviously is unquestionable.. however the food was not extraordinary.. but a second visit is not preferable..

It feels good to be within reach of a fine dining restaurant at a 5 âïž hotel.
It saves the driving time ,more can be spent on having a formal yet luxurious meal.
Black Dal is not to be missed !
I am a big big fan of black dal of this place
Its simply irresistible.
The service was very prompt and the attendants were also very helpful in terms of suggesting the quantity and the order type.
Visited this place during the Pujas, 2016. The ambiance is classy and the staff are very courteous. The food here tastes amazing. We ordered Gosht Pudina Shorba, Makhmali Boti and Murg Tikka Butter Masala. The shorba, is a broth, it was light and decent to taste. Both the Makhmali Boti(Mutton Biriyani) and the Murg Tikka Butter Masala tasted amazing. The mutton and chicken pieces used were tender, the biriyani was fragrant and the quantities were huge.
The only suggestion I have for them is that they can consider increasing the number of options in their menu a bit. Apart from that, everything was 5 star quality. Cheers!!
Great food, and better service! Something that is expected from a place like this. They are always hovering around, making sure u get what u need. They don't mind customizing ur dishes a bit, so that's even better.
It's September, so it's Restaurant Week India once again. A time of the year when one can try out  a few fine dining places across the city or revisit some old favorites without burning a huge whole in the pocket. I chose to try out Gucchi, the Indian fine dining restaurant at Hyatt.Â
The decor of this place is modern and it exudes a quiet elegance. The service is warm and friendly. But the quality of the food doesn't quite live up to 5-star standards. The Afghani Chicken Tikka and Lahsooni Mahi Tikka as starters were good. Both the chicken and fish were soft and juicy with the right blend of spices. But the meal mostly went downhill from that point on. The Raan was bit too dry for my liking and charred at places. Both the Kareli Gosht and Kadai Fish Masala were too spicy and tasted similar. At restaurants like these one expects a far more sophisticated cooking style where the chefs use much less spice and oil compared to the run of the mill joints without compromising on the taste. Here there was too much spice and also the blend doesn't quite feel right with everything a bit too sour. Â Among the desserts, only the Kulfi stood out, while both the Sahi tukda and the Kheer lacked that wow factor.
One expects a lot more from restaurants like these which command such  premium prices. Guchhi does not quite live up to such high expectations.
Beautiful romantic restaurant! With good food the hospitality can go a little better the ambiance is so beautiful that it feels magical with an interesting name
guchhi = mushroom!
Been here after ages. Hyatt has really made it difficult to get tables on phone. Just go and ask u'll find a table way faster. Just worked out for me. None the less, the DalMakhni and Lacha paratha classic match. Never can get over it. Amazing place to go and dig in once in a while. Loved it!
Update from the lunch on 5th August 2017:-
We were invited for a Kashmiri food festival. The usual kashmiri spread with Rishta/ Gushtava/ Tabak Maaz and Kashmiri pulao was there. The interesting part was, there was one wazwan thali, both in veg and non-veg variant. So, if any single person or couple comes and are in the mood of tasting many otems, this might be the actual choice. The dessert, Sufta, was heavily laden with dry fruits and is recommenced.Â
Update from 2016:-
The place is merely 5 minutes drive from our place and the drive was a breeze. The decor was top notch and so was the service. We were given a royal treatment (but all the patrons are treated like that only here) and the special menu was given to us. Now, I wonât disappoint you with all the options here, but we chose Murg Makhmali Kebab (suggested by the server) and Raan-E-Sikandari (I had to take this) as starter. And those who may visit this place, Iâd suggest ot to miss the Raan. The portion size is huge for each of the items and 1 Raan can easily be divided among 3 persons. Regarding the taste, though the Raan was the champ of the meal, chicken Makhmali Kebab was extremely soft, yet properly cooked with just the right tinge of smoky flavor. And what portion size- my goodnessâŠ
After gulping down all of the above with some chilled coke and puffing like anything, we ordered the main course. It was Kadahi Fish and Kareli Gosht with lachha parantha and Garlic Naan. Frankly, for me, mutton always overpowers fish and it was no different here. Though with a little extra bit of kasuri methi, fish was interesting on its own, we fall or rather dipped in love with the mutton. soft shanks, cooked for long till its soft enough to leave the bone with the touch of the fork, it was something else. It was pure orgasm and definitely recommended. and, I was saving the best for the last. Somehow Iâve seen, apart from 1-2 restaurants in Kolkata, somehow, standalone joints can;t make a good Kali Daal and Guchhi (trust me) is a stalwart in that. So, go for the Dal. even if you have to sacrifice the main course, Iâd suggest, go for it.
And, finally the dessert time. Frankly, I am not a sweet-tooth guy. But the Shahi Tukda is good here. A little extra soft to my taste, but good however. Rose Kulfi looked different and was scooped out like icecream and served on a bed of Falooda without the syrup.
Regal interiors, lovely ambience, extremely fine service and wonderful food defines Guchhi!
I have never had such good mutton, so soft and so succulent. My little sister had been with us, aged 7 and the mutton was so tender and soft that even she was gladly having her food without any qualms.
The kebabs languidly melted in our mouths, the flavour being rich and longlasting!
Another applause to the manager who had arranged for black tea for my grandmum even though it was not on the menu that night.
We had a special dessert, their own personally made Kulfi with organically grown fruit extracts.Â
However, the prawn sagged a bit, seemed under cooked! Â Also the gentleman serving us mixed the vegetarian for non -vegetarian and had served a wrong soup, though being alerted on time had stopped from any problems further!
Just one word to describe this beautiful place- awesome.
The food is awesome. Service is good. Ambiance is lovely. I would love to visit it again and again.
Fine dining experience at its best. Regal interiors, amazing ambience and lots of five star elements packed to give one lovely fine dining feel. The food is equally the star here. We tried out the North Indian delicacies and all the dishes were on point.
One of the awaited restaurant in my list!
Well to start with the ambience. .it's good ..soothing calm.. perfect for dining in quiet without much crowd or disturbance.
Coming to food part.. the food was simply outstanding. Each and every dish which we ordered was perfectly cooked and served hot and fresh. Their special dal makhani is a must try .and do keep some space for deserts ..ands their shahi tukhara is mind blowing. It simply melts in mouth.
Service was good but I would say quiet slow. Few things were disappointing. .when we were seated .. after water being served ..they forget to give us menu card.. we waited for 10 mins then I had to ask for it . Little werid. Even the food came little late. So little slow Serivce. They can improve on it !
Other than that a good dining experience.
The guchhi dal is the best dish here. The service was on the slower side but on the whole the food experience was good. The price is on the steeper side but worth it.
Very good food and equally great service... Its always a pleasure to dine at this place... One of the select few five star restaurants in Kolkata worth its salt.
I have attended a banquet at this place. It was really great place to hangout with friends, it looks rich and posh and service is amazing at every point you will have some staff to help you. Food was amazing I had vegetarian it was good, not too spicy but tasty and salads were very tasty, the most delicious item which you want to taste is baked rasagulla.

I had been to Kolkata for a business trip n also we very staying the Hyatt ,salt lake city
We been at Guchhi for dinner with some business associate
The interiors was execellent very classy n earthy used lots of natural stone n natural wood
Even the food was too good especially the malai broccoli, dal makhani ,paneer tikka
According to me this is the best place in town for having north Indian foods or having a romantic dating... just awesome awesome and awesome.... starting from there hospitality, service, ambience up to there food all are insane.... I am in love with this place.... no doubt it's a very expensive place but it worth it... don't forget to have there staffed cheese kulcha and murgh tikka butter masala... although I think each and every food you have there will be awesome.... so just go for it...
I have been to guchhi many times but I am NOT a big fan of their food, but environment is great and you will feel like you are being pampered like a celeb..
I went there for a work dinner recently. It has decent Indian food though a tad on the expensive side. Though the service is quite good. I would go there again with my family.
Tandoori guchhi... I can drool over it. Amritsari kulcha, veggies, paneer tikka and many more.. Way too good. Great ambience, outstanding food. Service can be improved though.
Still agree that the service needs to be improved, felt they were understaffed. Mitch pyaaz kulcha is unavoidable, club it with guchhi daal and lemon and it's just wow!!!
