This new Restobar in the heart of Kolkata on Theatre Road, sets itself apart from the masala fare usually found in the city. It sets its roots in an authentic European Nouvelle food journey. Be delighted by trying out the Expresso Mocktails, the indulgent desserts and of course the Chef's specials on the menu... Kolkata is ready to be on the food map of the country with The Salt House leading the way!

Had the opportunity of tasting few of the signature drinks and dishes of The Salt House- Truly European with a subtle twist of Bengal. I doubt Kolkata is yet to witness an amalgamation of fine dining with an open air lounge and a resto bar. A perfect place for every age. The foodies of Kolkata were waiting for the opening of this grand house! All the best and kudos to The Salt House team!

The salt house has a very classy atmosphere. Great staff and courteous too. Loved the service. Neat and fancy. Totally worth each and money.
I went with my friends.
We ordered a mushroom pizza, lime shikanje and black coffee.
It was a bit on the higher end but the food and decor talks about it. Great place and food. And the portion size was also great.
Amazing would surely visit again.
Thank you for having us and all the sanitation was taken care of.

This place is situated on the rooftop of a building which houses pantaloons on ground floor.
The place is very classy and chic with all grey black decor , they also have an open dining space which looks beautiful during night.
Coming to food, I was served the best ravioli I have ever had at The Salt house. The sauce was perfection , they use fresh ingredients which was apparent in the flavours ! Secondly, they have an interesting menu of hummus - we tried amritsari Hummus with butter kulcha. Loved it !!
Lastly we ordered flat bread pizza and vada pav sliders. Both were good.
I am so glad i stumbled upon this place! It's a must visit for a gastronomical experience!

Situated in Theatre road this restaurant has a classy decor and a lovely roof top ambience. It's perfect for hosting any small parties with the outdoor feel (perfect for clicking all those sun-kissed pics). Coming to the food, there is absolutely no compromise on it and i loved everything that we ordered. I went there with my best friend and literally ended up spending hours without getting any look for the staffs, they were really courteous and they also clicked our pics patiently. We had a drink based of kokam fruit which was so refreshing that we ordered it twice. Even the pizza was absolutely thin crust and mouth watering. Definitely visiting again once things are back to normal. Thanks for the lovely experience.

This place is amazing... Love the ambience... Love the food and drinks...
Located at the 6th Floor of the Shakespeare Point... The building on which FBB is situated... The interior in black is just fabulous... They have a beautiful Roof Top dining space too... Also, the wood over at the dining area is a special attraction here...
The staffs are very very well trained... And performing their duties extremely well... They are attentive and came up with very good food suggestions...
We ordered for "Spaghetti Aglio e Olio", "BBQ Chicken Pizza", "Bhetki Fingers", "Salt House Club Sandwich", "Beer Battered Bhetki and Chips" & "Hazelnut Mousse"... And believe me each and every dishes and just outstanding in taste and quantity... Quality is exquisite... I loved it... Oops I missed to update you about the drinks... We had their Strawberry Lemonade and Kokum Spritzer... And both were very very refreshing... Although I like the second one the most... And I must say don't even forgot to try their Hazelnut Mousse... It was just out of the world...
Outstanding experience as a walk in customer after a long time...
Only chap about the place is the pocket pinch... It is on the higher side...
Consider the rating to be 4.5 for the pricing... That's it...

With the New Year may you have New beginnings. A very Happy New Year and a great decade to all of you!
And to celebrate this we all love to visit the one only Park Street. Lights, people and chaos all that make our evenings glow. A little down the street we found this rooftop restro @thesalthousekolkata on Shakespeare Sarani. We enjoyed their Mac& Cheese, beer battered bhetki & chips and the most wonderful not-so-tiramisu (with the hazelnut topping).
The pocket pinch is slightly high but for the NYE it’s just worth it.
We loved how the live kitchen works and the ambience. The chef uses his own tailored dishes on the menu.
We would love to return to @thesalthousekolkata.

One of the few places in Calcutta that is pushing boundaries when it comes to food, and is doing super fine Continental food with funk and flair. The elegant and classy ambience sets the perfect vibe for their food.

I had the wood fired cauliflower, broccoli, winter pea hummus, chevre and microgreens salad which was such a great mix of hot and cold elements. Overall it was yummy and warming and definitely enough to fill up once person - highly recommend it!

For dessert I had their delicious hazelnut mousse that is served on a French biscuit with a swish of salted caramel on the side and topped off with sliced hazelnuts. Totally loved how light and fluffy the mousse was. Class apart stuff!

In 2019 there were 8 Michelin-rated restaurants in the world that primarily served Indian food. And there are no Michelin-rated restaurants for any type of food in India. And although that is not the end-all barometer of Indian cuisine and the influence of Indian food/chefs on the global stage, it is definitely a great example of a relative absence of India's mention in the Michelin Guide of restaurants. By the way, Yuautcha does not count. It's a franchise of a Michelin-starred restaurant in London. The rating doesn't carry over to franchises or branches.

All that being said, Salt House has a real chance of changing that by being the only proper contemporary American/Italian/European eatery in, at least, Eastern India. With the exception of the truffle fries (500 Rupees for fries, truffled or not, must be fresh-cut & crispy-fried on order). Here's why:

I will follow the basic rule of restaurant rating & score evenly on food, ambiance & service.

Food:
Truffled French fries - utter disappointment as 500 rupee fries should always be fresh-cut & crisp-fried, made to order.
Polenta w/ Ratatouille - Perfection!
Pulled Chicken Cheddar & pickled cucumber tartine - Great taste. Would have been better if it were split up into four small tartines instead of one big one...and crispier toast..maybe cut a little thinner & toasted a bit crispier.
Truffled scrambled eggs - A brunch perfection - they did not overdo the truffle/truffle oil/truffle essence.
Pumpkin ravioli with hazelnuts in bechemel sauce (maybe?) - Great ravioli, too much sauce.
Cauliflower, Broccoli, Asparagus truffled gratin - Perfect amount of truffle essence & cheese. A perfect gratin.
Deconstruced Tiramisu - Not as exciting as the theoretical proposition but points for presentation & idea.
Pecan Pie with cinnamon ice cream - nothing bad to say about this at all!
Salted caramel cappuccino espresso & fresh made lemonade were also quite delicious.

Ambiance:
Contemporary but warm. Thoughtful. The sofas & chair cushions are thoughtfully made for comfort. I would add some color & make the space a bit warmer. Italian food inspires a warmth - like you are around a fire on a winter night, telling stories, eating mother's pasta. But not too warm.

Service:
Service was good. Server was knowledgeable & polite. But as with all Indian restaurants, disorganized. Manager, section captain, first waiter, second waiter/busser. They each have their duties & their roles & movement around the restaurant floor makes things easier for both workers & guests. Also, when a guest requests that their orders be brought to their table on a rolling basis, as they ordered throughout the experience, the serving staff should be aware of the table, when they finish with one course, before bringing the next one to the table.  That's pretty simple service protocol. I wanted to speak to the chef about some critiques but was met with the sous chef who was probably the chef on duty. I'd still be interested in speaking to the proprietor and/or executive chef.

Score: If Salt House were being rated by Michelin or the James Beard Foundation (US's Michelin) today, it would be favorable. I would venture to bet that Michelin would at least rate it as a Michelin Plate rating. Especially since the food is so authentically contemporary western. Without pretense. Good ingredients. Largely well proportioned & properly served.

Post-Script: I would consider doing a prix fixe menu for lunches.  The menu's selection is great for a rotating prix fixe menu.

Conclusion: Do not overreact when the bill arrives & save up your money to go there if you really want to enjoy the food without having a heart attack while eating. Carry aspirin, just in case. But definitely worth it. If you like authentic contemporary Western food that is good quality & expertly prepared, you will miss out if you miss Salt House.

Ambience 💯 at The Salt House.
Food could be 💯 if the pizza was made with proper seasoning and more cheese.

For starters:

1. Margherita pizza(veg)
2.Thyme and parmesan cream pasta(with added chicken)

For main course:

1. Beer battered bhetki and chips
2. Grilled honey mustard glazed chicken
3. Irani chicken keema, poached egg with buttered pavs

For deserts:

Not-so-tiramisu
The desert was the best part of the whole meal🧡 with the perfect coffee taste and chocolate.

This place definitely has a beautiful ambience. We tried their grilled chicken pizza (5/5) , Hibiscus tea (4/5) , Hazelnut mouse and French biscuits (5/5) and white and dark chocolate cream Brunel (2/5) Overall we were satisfied but yes they are a little overpriced and price Vs portion is definitely a little unfair.

Went there yesterday with my wife. The ambiance and staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and Mangsho Ravioli along with coffee and berry hibiscus tea and later pork belly sliders. All the food except the slider were great. It was fresh and tasty. The only thing I would like to point out is that the portion of food offered could have been more as per the prices charged. Overall great experience and would likely to go again in the near future. Nice ambience, great presentation, good service, and yummy food. What else one could ask for. The desserts are to die for. I can visit this place just for the hazelnut mousse. Just look at this beauty and i am sure you would not be able to resist. The have a nice modern touch to their menu and there are a lot of options to choose from. For mains we ordered the good old mac n cheese and a vada pau slider. Both were yummy.

The seating area is divided into three - a hookah area, a dining area and an open area. They have given the interior a feel of greenhouse with glass shades and lots of plants. The interiors are subtle and soothing. Not in your face kinds.

There is something for every kind of person at Salt house. Do visit the place if you are around. I promise you would love it !!

I was warned by a friend that they had heard mixed reviews about this place , some good & some bad....well turns out the feelings I have after dinner at The Salt House can be well described by that very word...."mixed"

Located on the 6th floor of the FBB building off theatre road, this place has a classy ambience for sure. With  high glass ceilings and transparent walls, the place tries and succeeds in capturing the vibe of a greenhouse (I was in the section to the right of the roof) . There was a guy on his keyboard crooning out a few old classics pretty well. So far so good, but if they want to build a luxurious and high end setting they really need to do something about their furniture. Basic black tables and slightly uncomfortable chairs just don't cut it.

Coming to the food, we started off with the Beer battered Prawns, nice and juicy, 7 decent sized prawns, served with a rather nice little bowl of tartar sauce. There was a hint of capers and just the right amount of vinegar to ensure this was neither too strong nor too bland. Went really well with the prawns, 5/5 for this one

Next came the Chicken Smoked Paprika Stroganoff and Edamame  Rice. This one was just about ok, the chicken was a little over done and the mushrooms weren't of the best quality in my opinion, quantity wise I'd say it was just about enough for a light eater, my partner finished it quite comfortably, while she generally struggles to get through the entrée at most places. Well like I mentioned earlier it was strictly ok, the paprika lacked depth of flavour and the chicken could've been a bit more creamier. So a generous 4/5 for this one.

Next we ordered their take on the famous Parsi Keema pav preparation. They had a fancier name for it ,which I have conveniently forgotten. This one was nice, the Keema was served with a poached egg and chopped veggies along with a slice of gondhoraj lebu (Kaffir lime in English I think ) for added flavour. Well the Keema was nice, the quantity was sufficient, the poach was nice and runny and enhanced the flavor once the yolk got mixed with the minced meat, the only grouse I have was that the size of the pavs were barely large enough to feed a 12 year old, I'm a pretty moderate eater and I definitely wasn't completely full after finishing this one off. So all in all a 4.5 for this one (the food in itself deserves a 4, but the presentation earns it a brownie half a point )

To conclude, The Salt house is a decent place, but I got the distinct feeling that they are still unsure about their positioning in the Kolkata restaurant universe. They are priced at par with most fine dining places in the city, however the ambience and service levels are only marginally better than the really good casual dining outlets. They need to get their value proposition right and decide which way they want to go. The restaurant is a strong 4/5 , but I would've definitely been able to plan a better meal for 2 people at 2.1k in many other fancy joints in The city

Was looking for eating options open at 11pm and luckily stumbled upon the salt house, which is open till midnight (though last order is earlier).
The salt house has both an indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating felt average and sadly, because of the rains the rooftop section was closed. Nonetheless, we were totally surprised by the delicious food we were served.
1) Harissa chicken : Crunchy boneless chicken pieces served on a bed of veggies with a tangy pesto sauce. I loved it.. devoured the entire plate till the last drop of the sauce!
2) Chicken stroganoff : saucy chicken pieces served with rice - it was nice too.
3) Mushroom & Jalapeno Risotto : New on the menu, I was enticed to try this combination owing to my love for both ingredients. And I must say, this was unlike any risotto I ever had before. Made in a white creamy, buttery sauce, each bite with mushroom chunks & titbits of jalapeno was a nice surprise for my palate. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Overall, the dining experience at salt house was surprisingly good. Will be back for more to see if everything is as good.. 😋

4 of us friends decided to visit this place last month. Its a pretty big place, with both inside and outside seating. Well, we decided to each order something so we could share, thus getting a varied taste of the different items. And so we did! Fish, pork, mutton... everything! We did enjoy it all, including the desserts! However, the place is a wee bit expensive, not where one would visit regularly.

One of the finest places to have a meal in Calcutta right now. The Salt House is doing good honest food that are sensible and delicious. Things might be expensive, but things are GOOD.

Their signature dishes carry a blend of western, asian and eastern influences that balance well. Their experiments are researched and restrained, not over the top.

The place is divided in an open air section, a family dine in zone and a shisha zone. Depending on your preference, you may choose your table. The place exudes a quiet sophistication, which is also capably reflected in their offerings.

Our server for the day, Tapas, was also a great host and bettered the whole meal with his service and attention to details.

Even before they officially opened, I was very excited to try this place from the promotional photos on Fb and Instagram. The green balcony looked exciting (great place for insta-worthy photos) and soothing to the eyes. Once I tried the food the health conscious in me was super super happy. Their microgreens accompanied many of the dishes which was great. Their asparagus appetizer was the star for me. Thoroughly enjoyed the fish which was light and flavorful. And the most amazing were the desserts - Fondant and Hazelnut mousse. Rarely do I end up loving both the desserts ordered - equally! Could not choose a favorite.

Pizzas were ok, but overall excellent

Two things which this place lacks

1) they should get alcohol liscence as soon as possible.
2) place looks worn out, table chairs everything need to be changed

Price wise it’s a little on the higher side, but with such quality and fresh ingredients it’s justified

This popular eatery has made its mark in Kolkata with its beautiful decor, supreme food and an overall wonderful deli experience. The appetizer menu of the restaurant features an assortment of delectable seafood dishes, Italian gourmet dishes, and grilled specialties. Their pasta here is a special delight- chewy, with a hazy smoked texture, and infused with various layers of discrete flavors and the Pizza, with a crisp thin crust topped with tomato sauce and spinach is an all time winner.

I think salt house stands out on his own because they don’t use preserved spices everything is hand made and freshly plucked from their own little garden (within the restaurant) and the food is top notch and flavoursome. I’d give every dish here a 5 on 5 because you don’t get such fresh spices anywhere these days. They’re food is so pure you won’t even get any kind of irritation the next morning you wake up. Instead of using bottled spices and canned food used by most cafes in Calcutta, they have put together dishes that are absolutely pure and tasty as hell!! Edgy subtle and intelligent cooking!

One stop for Great Ambience, Great Food and Great Service.
We absolutely loved the food which was innovative as well as super yummy.
For starters we tried the Vada Pav which was packed with flavour. Mains was the super innovative & yummy Jowar + Bajra Gnocchi with Pea Pulao. The Mushroom Tortellini with Truffle and Parmesan Veloute was beyond delicious. My only issue was with the Tortellini which tasted tough and raw.
The dessert was the maestro of this dinner. When spoilt for choice go for the Dark and White Chocolate Creme Brulee. We loved the Dark Chocolate Creme Brulee with apples. Though we couldn't figure out the white chocolate creme brulee. We found it too sweet and like any normal custardy creme brulee.
Minor lapses aside. We are glad to have found this chic place with great food. See you soon :)

One of the best in town. Located on the 6th floor of Shakespeare Point, the conspicuous building harbouring a large fbb outlet downstairs, this restaurant exhumes vibes of sophistication. A posh setting with classy decor, plush sofas to seat on, they have a large seating area with an open air space in the middle. We went there for lunch so sat inside in the air-conditioned part but I'm pretty sure it'll be nice with lights on tables outside on a breezy summer evening as well. The pocket pinch is quite high so we ordered judiciously. My friend has a Dineout Gourmet pass so we got a dish free. In spite of that we each spent a lil more than 1k. There were three of us.

We ordered for a Mushroom Ravioli dish, Pork Belly Sliders, Edamame Microgreens in truffle, Off the bone chicken wings with blue cheese dip for the mains. Two desserts - Hazelnut Mousse and Pecan Pie with Ice-cream. The blue cheese as my friend claimed was rare and had a different taste from what we are used to having as cheese--The reason why we chose the usual chicken wings dish. It's difficult to describe, best to try it yourself and experience it. The edamame dish didn't do wonders for our tastebuds and we repented on choosing that one. Pork Sliders were delicious. So was the Mushroom Ravioli. What we saw from the menu is that they serve a lot of dishes with ingredients which are rare or not easily available in Kolkata. Like the use of truffle which is also considered very expensive ingredient. They have a separate menu for truffle dishes. Please don't go by the Zomato menu as there is a lot of changes in the menu they provide at the restro. Also, we didn't get to try things for the breakfast menu since it was a Wednesday and the breakfast menu was for the weekend. So please keep that in mind. We need to come back for the Egg Benedict! Another let down was the unavailability of Smoked Salmon dish. One of the reasons we chose to come to this restro in the first place. So a few minus points but I do believe that the management will work on those and provide a much better experience next time onwards.

This was a celebratory dinner and we were looking for some place special. We went to the Salt House with high recommendations from my foodie friend Rukshana Kapadia and we were not disappointed. The food was great and the ambience was wonderful. We started off with akuri on toast, pork belly sliders and barbq chicken sliders along with Pina colada iced teas, nutella with icecream smoothie and cold brewed frappe. For the mains we had honey mustard glazed chicken, chicken stroganoff, mangsho ravioli and pizzas. All the dishes were unique but we specially enjoyed the chicken and the akuri on toast. Mango shrikhand and the not so baked Alaska brought the meal to a desired end. We plan to be back soon.

We had a very big meal replete with plenty of small plates, and mains and dessert, and were surprised at the level of consistency in flavour and texture in dish after dish. Of special note were the beer battered prawns, the Vietnamese Bun Cha, the Kerala bhetki with coconut rice, the hazelnut mousse, the kokum and lebu Fritz (alas no alcohol on Election Day), the pork sliders, the butter garlic prawns. The dips and sauces were delish too. Our only disappointment were the overfried chicken wings. In spite of being the last guests to leave, the service was patient, prompt and friendly. I look forward to the outdoor seating in the during the monsoons. Recommend Salt House for pigging out on weekends or for curing blue Mondays.

This place had been in my list atleast since a year and yes I finally made it up to this place !!
The place is located in loudon street right above the fbb store !!
The place has a covered as well as an open area to enjoy the fine dining !!
We went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch !!
Since it was really heated we sat in the covered air conditioned area but in general the place is quiet airy and spacious !!
Coming to the dishes we ordered :
The dishes we ordered are as follows :

-HAZELNUT MOUSSE: This dessert is one of the most signature desserts @thesalthousekolkata !!it comprises of salted caramel sauce and base comprises of French biscuits .
The best part about this dessert was the crunchy biscuit base and when the dessert is had with the caramel it tastes amazing . Do try this amazing variety of dessert @thesalthousekolkata

-
-MUSHROOM TORTELLINI IN TRUFFLE AND PARMESAN CHEESE: This was yet another unique dish that I have tried for the very first time @thesalthousekolkata . .
The filling of the dish was with mushroom crumbs and the best thing about this dish was that it was topped with Parmesan cheese sauce and served along with garlic bread .I really loved this dish and had the maximum to myself

- QUINOA,FETA &MICRO GREEN SALAD : This is the yet another amazing dish that we ordered at The salt house, Kolkata ,the dish comprised of fresh quinoa ,veggies, olive oil ,and Parmesan !!this dish was quiet healthy ,yet delicious and filling at the same time ,and this is yet another must try dish at Salt house ,Kolkata

- Belgium hot chocolate : this item I would say was slightly average ,there was a small glass of hot chocolate along with two varieties of cookies !!the hot chocolate was slightly bitter and tasted above average ,but the best thing about it was the cookies that I liked
.
.
The staffs were quiet cooperative and responsive to our needs and service was quiet quick ,and altogether a must try place

Beautiful ambience, a precious menu and intelligent service! A lovely gastronomical experience no matter what you choose to order. They don’t serve alcohol but the spritzers are delicious and oh-so-pretty! Keep room for dessert because you’d want to try everything that’s on the menu.

It's a fancy Italian restaurant which has terrace seatings as well. The service is very fast and prompt. It's pricey and the quantity can be more. But the food was mostly good. The mushroom tortilleni was excellent. The pizza with basil oil and the pizza bianca were also well prepared. The quinua risotto was a totally new dish and is worth a try. Zucchini noodles and the stronganoff can be given a miss.
Must try if one like to experiment with their food.

There are a few things that I love above every thing else; breakfast food through out the day, pasta and desserts; and salt house excels in all of these. Situated on a rather busy road the moment you enter this place you leave the chaos of the city behind.
The wait staff is polite, the food innovative and the ambience soothing. Auroni does a great job of curating a menu which is both global and local. They are also very helpful if you have any dietary restrictions as well.

There are three parts to the seating- an open rooftop area, a glasshouse and a covered section to dine in. The interiors are basically neutral and sophisticated with beautiful planters that add the right amount of green against the black, white and grey backdrops. And before you finish admiring the elegant ambience a subtle jazz music playing in the background just uplifts the experience to another notch. Moving over to the food we had ordered -
1)Avocado and Spicy Salsa Tartines - This open sandwich had the right amount of spice and tanginess making it a hearty dish to indulge in.

2)Quinoa, Millet, Asparagus Rissoto - It was rich, decadent and so nourishing. The creamy aftertaste is still lingering on my mind.

3)Amritsari Pita & Hummus- It was an Indian rendition to the evergreen pita & hummus duo that never fails to disappoint. I loved the twist.

Overall the food, ambience and music all connected together so easily. The pocket pinch is on the higher side but given the decadent food & vibe, I don’t mind it!

Mushroom tortellini in truffle and parmesan veloute of the salt house is one of the best tortellinis I have had in a long time in Kolkata. It serves amazing food, and has some dishes that are local with an italian twist like the Malai chingri risotto and the Mangsho ravioli. Amazing ambience with both rooftop and a lounge options, this place is ideal for date nights.

I visited this restaurant ten days ago with four friends. We booked in advance, but the restaurant didn't seem full, though a thunderstorm may have been to blame. We liked the ambience of the place, and the service was good. We ordered a fairly large selection of dishes, so I think we got a sense of the place. The items were ordered were:

- Brie and caramelized leeks on melba toast. Superb.
- Ratatouille and grilled polenta. Did not try, but was told that it was very good.
- Pork belly sliders, served with a rather interesting dip with Cajun seasoning. Good.
- Off-the-bone chicken wings with hot sauce and a cheese dip. The only slight disappointment - did not care much for the batter used to hold the meat together.
- Wood-fired cauliflower and broccoli, winter pea hummus, goat milk cheese, and micro-green salad. Quite good.
- Sautéed mushrooms.
- Pumpkin ravioli with thyme and parmesan cream. Excellent - the texture and filling of the ravioli was one of the best I've ever eaten.
- Spaghetti carbonara with bacon, Old favourite, came out very well.
- Zucchini noodles with toasted almonds and herb oil. Reported as being very good.
- Mangsho ravioli in a bone marrow broth. Also excellent.
- Hazelnut mousse, salted caramel and French biscuit. Sinfully rich.
- The Salt House's version of a Baked Alaska. Rather good, especially the base.

Apart from feeling that a couple of the dishes had really small portions and that their non-alcoholic gin-and-tonic did not taste good, we really liked all the dishes we tried. I would certainly visit again and try other things on their menu.

Highly recommend, a very very pretty place. The best thing was the staff behaviour. The food was pretty good too, say a 4/5. The desserts were especially tasty. A decent meal would cost around 1K per person but I guess it’s worth it. The ambience is outstanding and there’s SOOOO many Instagramable spots in the restaurant.

Salt house is now my one of the favorite places in town. The ambience is so beautiful and the food is so delicious. Their desserts are a worth try for all the dessert lovers. They also serve a variety of tea and salads. Their main course is something different with really good flavors. Will surely revisit.

Its been a favourite of mine for a few months and I visit this place very often. Lately the quality has gone down and I am totally sad about this since salthouse is one of the only places in Kolkata to serve this kind of modern and inspired cuisine!

I hope the chef and management looks into the matter and pulls up the game back to being awesome.

Finally I came to this posh, outdoor+ indoor seating restaurant for dinner on a thundering night. Divine jazz music was playing in the background.
It has a fresh and swanky ambience. Due to the downpour, couldn't sit outside. Coming to the food, if you really love fresh and healthy Italian, this place is superb. Here's what was ordered:
1. Kiwi & pomegranate bellini- rich taste and completely made out of natural ingredients.
2. Pizza bianco- grilled veggies, basil pesto and feta. This basically is the white pizza made freshly out from the wood burn fire( you can see live your pizza coming out from the wood burn) it's super healthy and the highlight is the basil oil with pesto.
3. Spinach & ricotta ravioli with Confit cherry tomatoes, basil oil- ahhh this one was sheer delicacy. Piping hot & tender ravioli with burnt flavour cherry tomato sauce in tossed in basil oil. One of my favourites. It's super light too.
4. Dessert- hazelnut mousse, salted caramel & French biscuit- It completely steals the show. It has the perfect suppleness of a mousse with crispness of the dark chocolate granulated biscuit and how to miss the perfect consistency dip of salted caramel with rich hazelnuts on top!
Since this place is known for it's breakfast, I am surely gonna come here to try out their different menu for breakfast, definitely for some breads and pancakes and apart from that there is an interesting twist of the delicacies and gourmet from truffle oil to desserts. So surely gonna keep coming here.
It's perfect for blissful weather and if you wanna enjoy the outdoor seating. That's also a separate place for private parties.

I had been to Salt House a few days back to try out their anniversary menu with my friends. The food here speaks of fine dining and they have come up with some of the most basic and popular dishes with their own innovativeness.
We tried out the Smoky Sour, which is a non alcoholic version of bourbon.
The cherry tomato, mascarpone pizza was also very delicious. The bread was freshly baked, could be understood from the taste. The chingrihata with herbs was delicious as well.
I loved the not-so-baked-alaska, which was again pretty nice. Overall, their food was lovely.

This place is in Theatre road. It's in the top floor of fbb building. Easy to locate. We booked a table beforehand. Me and my mother went there for dinner. The ambience was soothing. Waiters were very courteous. We ordered chingri herbs paprika garlic butter for starters, 6hr pork belly and a a Kerela bhetki preparation (this one was from their festival menu). The chingri herbs paprika garlic butter was good, 6pieces of chingri served with garlic bread. Pork belly was delicious, though I felt it was too much for a single person. Lastly the bhetki preparation was average. It was served with rice. There was a slight smell coming from it. The pricing was expensive compared to the food and quantity. Our bill for these 3 dishes were 2400 approx. Overall it's a good place if you wanna have a good time with your pocket full.

Nice place with good food. It was pretty empty at Friday lunch so no waiting time. Tried the guacamole toast which was okay. I felt the lemon was a bit over powering. We also took the pan fried bhetki which was good and had a mild flavor profile. They had a nice cocktail menu but may be for another day.

We went with very high expectations,it didn't quite hit that mark. It is a decent enough experience. The Tapas Platter was good value for money. The drinks,I must say are great. You can go just for the drinks. Service is very lax,we waited for a good 30-40 minutes before anyone came to take our order, that too we had to call them, and we went at a very lean time too. They are charging 10% for service, shouldn't they maintain basic standards. Considering the atmosphere is great, the food is decent, the drinks exquisite, the service is what leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Can't say I will visit again,or will recommend to anyone else either.

One of the finest place to have a continental meal in Kolkata. The place is divided in open air section, family dining zone & a shisha zone. Menu is full of lip smacking delicacies & exotic cocktails. You might feel a slight pinch in your pocket but you will not regret it. Ambience is great & service is top notch. Definitely try out dessert section.

Great location and the typical modern ambience of dark interiors. Be cautious because their starters are minuscule, as are the special mocktails served in slender champagne tulips. The mains are hearty - both in portion size and taste. The Salt House has an interesting menu which should be explored over time. Reasonably good service.

Kolkata needs more of such amazing restaurants with bold chefs who are ready to be adventurous and take risks. While their italian and american dishes are amazing, what sets this place apart is a world class chef and their ever-changing fusion menu. I have never had a Bengali-Italian fusion that has kept true to both its roots. I know I’ll keep going back just to keep myself in touch with their menu.
