Yesterday we visited this place for dinner. People are welcoming and gentle. Ambience is awesome. We ordered non veg thali, rice, bhapa Elise and mutton jhol. The thali was awesome in quantity and delicious every dishes. Mutton jhol is love but bhapa Elise is not so good, Elise was so hard, taste was not good. But over all experience was amazing and wanna visit again.
Firstly as you arrive they welcome you with some chips and water as complementary food and these smalls actions will customer hearts .As they are busy making freshly cooked food you can enjoy those crispy chips. We had ordered for
Chicken kobiraji
Bhekti fry
Chicken cutlet
Prawn cutlet and all were amazing đ
Not a single one tasted stale or not served
hot.
The fishes inside was totally fresh and thats the one thing which u should notice when visiting any bengali resturant as the fishes are the game changer there.
It should be the best afterall
The staffs were really helpful đ

Kolkata Trip is incomplete without traditional Bengali food. However, I didn't get time to visit a few more places. But whatever I could do it in a handful moments was enough.
I had an amazing meal at Koshe Kosha which is popular for their authentic Bengali cuisine. I went with two of my Italian friends and ordered a number of dishes.
Food âĄī¸ Kosha Mangsho, Shukto, Murgir Jhol, Mangsho Pulao, Baked Paratha, and Chapatis.
Taste âĄī¸ I personally enjoyed the meal. The palette was full of flavors with some authentic spices and curries. The chicken dishes were awesome. Soft, fresh, and well cooked. Kosha Mangsho was not spicy but still had a strong flavor of onion and garlic. Murgi Jhol was my favorite of them all because of the gravy. It was creamy and spicy and delicious all together. Pulao was very good. It had a nice smell and the veggies were well cooked. Shukto, was a different curry totally, it has few veggies and coconut base gravy making it tastier. Baked Paratha was nothing but a simple Laccha paratha for me.đđ
Presentation âĄī¸ Food was served in large bowls although the quantity was fair enough for three of us. Trust me had so much food that day.đđ Follow The_food_wallâī¸ on Instagram
Located in a very known place in Ripon Street, it has a very good staffs with its awesome ambience which gives you proper bengali vibe
I just loved it ..... perfect blend is spices... rice cooked to perfection and heavenly taste
Tried non veg thali. Had good variety of local food. Mutton mangshow was there speciality which was served in thali.2 vegetable were also nice and had unique taste.. Bengan pakoda was little more oily.. perfect place if you want to have Bengali food.
Good Bengali food and very courteous staff. Tried bheti jhal and the date ice cream, loved both of them.
Koshe Kosha is one of the best restaurant in kolkata which serves authentic bengali cuisine at a reasonable price. They have many outlets in kolkata. I visited their park street outlet. I tasted there Basanti Pulao, Mutton Kosha, Chicken Masala and Handmade Rotis. All the items are extremely delicious. Their ambience and behaviour of the staff is also very good. I will like to visit there again.
'Koshe Kosha' is one of the most affordable Bengali cuisine brands in Kolkata. This outlet is located in Park Street just opposite to Arsalan. I went there with my colleagues for a hearty lunch.
I ordered :-
đ´Gondhoraj ghol.
đ´Bhaat.
đ´Mutton kosha.
All the items were extremely delicious. The outlet has a paucity of space. The staff was cordial and extremely well behaved.
I will definitely visit again.
I have visited Koshe Kosha's Bangalore outlet several times and have always loved the food. Therefore, when I got to know that the brand had an outlet in Kolkata, I had to visit it during my last trip.
The following are the items that I had ordered for dinner during my visit: Gondhoraj Ghol, Bhaat, Sona Muger Dal, Mocha Chingri, Roshun Bhapa Bhetki, Bhetki Paturi, and Kochi Narkeler Ice-cream.Â
Below are my ratings:
4/5 for Food - Every item that I had ordered (from the drink to the dessert) was amazing.
The combination of the sweet-sour Lassi with the aromatic Godhoraj lebu essence in the Godhoraj Ghol was an absolute delight.
The Sona Muger Dal was a mild, sweetish, vegetarian dal (devoid of the fish head).Â
The Mocha Chingri was good, but I wish it had more prawns and was spiced up a little more, like the way it's served in the Bangalore outlet.
The Bhetki Paturi platter had two bhetki fillets marinated with mustard paste and then steamed to perfection in banana leaf wraps.Â
Roshun Bhapa Bhetki was another delight. This dish consisted of Bhetki fillets marinated in a sweet-sour-spicy mango & garlic paste. This item took a little while to be prepared, but it was worth the wait.Â
The Kochi Narkeler Ice-cream was mild, low on sugar and had desiccated coconut â definitely the best dish to end the scrumptiousÂ
meal with.
4/5 for Ambience - There are two floors in the restaurant, both of them having a neat and clean layout. The place is well-ventilated with fans & ACs. The walls have oil paintings demonstrating the culture and traditions of Bengal.Â
2/5 for Price - Food rates are higher than what's charged at the Bengaluru outlet. I was a little surprised to see this as logically speaking it's comparatively difficult to get the raw materials to make Bengali food in Bangalore than in Kolkata.
4/5 for Staff - I felt that the staff attending me was a little slow (and probably sleepy). Having said that he was friendly and was giving us recommendations as well.

It is a nice place to go with family and friends and the food was really good but I expected even more better. Anyways it was a really good experience to visit this place
We went here during Durga puja and at that time their menu was a little bit different. But we always choose this for royal bengali treat as i prefer. So we ordered Plain Rice & Basanti Pulao from Rice & Roti section along with Gondhoraj Murgi and Moshla Murgi which go with Pulao. Also ordered Sona muger dal & Alu bhaja with the main course Katla kalia fish goes with Rice. Completed with Khejurer Chatney at the end.
Let's talk about taste- 1. Plain rice was normal rice as usual which goes with every go to bengali family; 2.Basanti Pulao tastes sweet which is my personal favourite specially for the added nuts; 3.Muger Dal was too good with plain rice; 4.Alu bhaja was crispy and ofcourse increased the taste with Simple Dal and rice; 5.Gondhoraj Murgi is sweet comes with lemon taste and the gravy goes perfect with pulao; 6.Moshl Murgi is little bit spicy but not too much and also goes well with pulao as well as Rice; 7.Katla kalia is ofcourse for Rice, The gravy tastes sweet as well as spicy though the fish was little bit smelly but overall it was good; 8.Khejurer Chatney ofcourse gives you the sweet desert taste to end it well.
Quantity of Rice, Pulao and Chicken can also go for two people per dish.
Now Coming to the staff behaviour- They are extremely helpful to choose any dish and overall their behaviour and treatment is likable.
Ambience- If you're a pure bengali then you Will definitely love their ambience which is full of bong and kolkata pictures added with old royal bengali ambience.
Definitely recommend.
Food is great. Kosha mangsho and Macher matha diye shona mugh dal taste is awesome..
If you're looking for good Bengali cuisine with reasonable price, this is the place to go. We ordered chingri malaikari, mochar chop, Sona muger dal, alu bhaja, murghi jhol. The gravy of chingri malaikari was creamy yet not at all heavy. The food was not at all oily or overtly spicy. For dessert we ordered aam doi and baked roshogulla (dessert of the day). The baked roshogulla was served hot with rabri. It was very soft and just melts in your mouth.
Coming to the staff, they are very polite and courteous. The ambience is very warm and welcoming. Had a great experience overall.
Very well decorated with all things Bengali, Koshe Kosha provides good service and good food. Loved their thali because it's so extensive and gives you a flavour of Bengali cuisine. Even their Daab Chingri is excellent.
My go to place for Bengali food. The mutton kosha is really really great here. So is the basanti pulao. Do try if you are around . Great service as well
Did home delivery.... prawn malai curry was very good but mutton kosh was little hard and should have been cooked longer will order prawns again soon
We ordered Mutton kossa and Basanti Pulao.. Mutton are soft and tasty... And stuffs are very helpful... Ambiance also good â¤ī¸ Overall experience is good..
Excelent service and staff behaviour is also good

Located at the heart of the city i.e. Park Street, this is an ideal place to relish finger licking Bengali cuisine. This eatery boasts of a typical Bengali ambience, featuring Gramophone and rich Bengali literature . Though the prices are a bit high, the food is delicious. Pay a visit if you want to enjoy authentic Bengali food.
Love bengali cuisine? Come to Koshe kosha, they have many brunches all over Kolkata.Although,I went to the Park Street branch. The ambience reminds me of old bengali movies. The place full of 80âs furnitures & pictures Old bengali actors & singers. The food is much better than I expected.I didnât get the typical Bengali thali that day so had to go for their signature Mangsho Pulao. Also, had some creamy curry made with betki fish. The fish was fresh, although I wish they added some less salt in it.And donât forget to taste their Gondhoraj Ghol,itâs very refreshing.Itâs the best beverage which you can opt here for.â¤ī¸ Do check out this place!đ
This place has some really yummy Bengali food. Ambience is quite good with all the books, gramophone, paintings giving those kolkata vibes.
We tried mutton kosha from the special menu and padba fish curry cooked in a thick gravy with rice and dal. All of them tasted amazing. Service was also good.
Great place... great quality of food.. great varieties of food.. quantity can be increased according to the price...
Rest everything is simple awesome.
This place is a must visit for tasting authentic Bengali food . A bit high on price. Every dish that i have tried out turned out amazing. A must visit place
If you love prawns and fish. You can ignore this place. Typical premium bengali food. Embence is good. Staffs are nice. Price is affordable. Taste is so nice
One of the best experience of my food journey and best time from my stay in Kolkata. I can say they are the best. Order anything, they won't disappoint you. Ask for their best stuff, the managers are really helpful to take you towards your best food experience.
If you looking for pocket friendly Bengali restaurant, here it is and you can use your Zomato Gold also.Â
nothing to say about food , its amazing :)
only one thing, when ever we visit this branch, we never get aam pora. make it available please. soon we ll visit. Thank you :) KOSHE KOSHA
A perfect place if you need you're taste buds reminisce the taste of Bangali cuisines. But restaurants are never for food alone, and that's where comes the reason of the five star rating. The ambience is very homely with very welcoming staff sporting the smile inspite of the hard work put in.
P.s. - For the guy who served us our food that day if you're reading this,' keep up the good work.'
Good Place to try out Bong delicacies. Being a bong I felt the food taste is on the sweeter side. Choose your dishes according..Overall good ambience and experience being a foodie. To add on it is pocket friendly as well..
Recently visited the place to have Bengali Cuisine. In park street area probably this is one of the best option.
Ordered Plain Basmati Rice, Dhakai Mutton, Pabdar Jhal, Alu Vaja, Amer Chatni and Masala Papad.
Requested the restaurant personnel in case they can provide Ghee. They are curious enough to provide that. Also they charge same price which is printed for mineral water.
It costs around 950 for two of us. There are also Non Vej Meal which comes 450 per person. (Note the meal comes with fish, mutton, rice, vaja, chatni as well but the quantity is half).
Dhakai mutton preparation is made with "Mustard" and "White Curd", and I didn't liked the taste that much.
One can try Kosha Mangso with Polao, or Plain Mutton Curry with plain rice.
Salad was complementory.
Liked the behavior of the hotel stuffs.
Ambience was nice, and food cost at per considering the posh park street area.
Being primarily vegetarian was apprehensive of getting good options, but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered from your Hurohuri Combo and really enjoyed it. Feedback on the quantity of vegetarian main courses when ordered as a la carte needs to be looked into.
I like the food of Koshe Kosha. It's aptly located at Ripon Street opposite to Arsalan. Happened to visit this outlet for evening snacks with a friend. Service was brisk. Food was good. Pocket pinch-Value for money.
Luchi and Kosha Mangsho can never go out of style. Tried Koshe Kosha's luchi and kosha mangsho. It was delicious. Mutton was tender and tastes like bengali bari r banano kosha mangsho.
Must try. âĨī¸
The staff was courteous.

We ordered food from Koshe Kosha for the very first time and I must tell you it was just yum, but of course the pricing was a bit too high. Overall experience was DARUN.
A trip to Kolkata is incomplete unless I get to savor Bengali cuisine.
This is my first experience with Koshe Kosha having ordered 2 rice plates, jhinge aloo posto and katla kalia.
Jhinge aloo posto tasted immaculate and enjoyed it after a eons staying out of West Bengal.
Katla kalia for me was kind of ok.
Overall experience is pleasant
My second order from Koshe Kosha
After enduring 38 degrees and ~100% humidity, a thunderstorm and the order from Koshe Kosha was supposed to lift my spirits. No self respecting Bong would have ordered what I did- dim Kosha, kochu pata bhapa chingri and morog polao.
While the quantity was good enough, the bhapa chingri and dim Kosha had salt more than my liking. The pulao had 2 pieces of chicken with more bones than meat.
I was bit disappointed today. So rated them 3 today.
Been there on a Friday afternoon. It has a very cosy atmosphere. We ordered fresh lime soda, which was very much refreshing and made of fresh lemons.
In starter, we ordered bhetki fry and dim chingri devil. Both were lip smacking good.
In mains we had chitol muitha , gondhoraj chicken, plain rice. They gave us complementary salad with it. The fish was spicy and delicious. The chicken was really heavenly.
In dessert we had daab ice cream that has a subtle flavor of daab with tiny bits of coconut in it.
It costs us 1150 including all taxes. They gave us 25% off on the bill due to KKR matchday.
We would really like to visit again.
A pocket friendly. Very taste restaurant for bengoli cuisine
Good nd nice food.bhetki fry was very taste nd non-veg thali was great staff was good.
Good food good ambiance
High five 5âŖ
Will visit again
For books and foods
Dahi waa superb
Pomfret fish đ was mouthwatering
Small cozy hub for another counter to have bengali authentic dishes
The beauty of this place was its simplicity. The food was very nicely prepared. A homely outlook. Nothing was too ârestaurantyâ but very elegant. It was filling at the same time very light on the stomach. Would definitely recommend this place.
A pocket friendly, very very tasty restaurant for Bengali cuisine. Being a vegetarian and attempting Bengali and being very satisfied is something that speaks about the restaurant. Had a starter, curry and roti. Aloo Poshta was very tasty but the Highlight was the Pur Diye Begun Bhaja. Recommend đ
The ambience is OK OK.. Food was really good. We just ordered a starter in seafood, and a main course of seafood with plain white rice. Service is good.
If genuinely want to give authentic Bengali cuisine a try, Koshe Kosha would be a great pick. Having in stayed in Kolkata for about 9 years and having some experience in Bengali food, I can say with a certain assertiveness, that the flavours created by this place manage to capture the genuine Bengali taste. Bengali cuisine uses a lot of mustard, poppy seeds, brinjals, gondoraj lemon and many other ingredients which might be unconventional to the taste of many. But Koshe Kosha actually provides you the opportunity to taste these with accuracy and figure out for yourself.Â
The decor and ambience have been created to add to the genuineness of the place. The staff is quite warm and hospitable.Â
So, do stop by this place if you want to try out some good Bengali Cuisine.
Located in the heart of the city, had a late lunch at Koshe Kosha today. It was almost evening and we were starving. Instead of asking for the menu card we literally asked them to get us anything they could serve the fastest.
We had
1) Rice
2) Jiri jiri alu bhaja
3) Sonamuger Daal
4) Bhetkir paturi
5) Katla macher kalia
6) chatni ( complementary )
7) baked roshogolla
Starting from the service to the food everything was perfect would surely visit it again soon.
Bhuribhoj....
Mohabhoj at best price and variety of platters at Koshe Kosha will definitely blow your mind.
Name of restaurant : Koshe Kosha
Restaurant Location : Park Street
Starting from the Beguni INR 45, Sona Muger Daal INR 125, order Jhinge Posto INR 125, be a bit healthy with Green Salad INR 60, go for fish Bhetki Paturi INR 350, Elish Bhapa INR 525,
Match with Roti INR 8 or Plain Rice INR 80, end with sweet tasty Anarash Chutney INR 75.
Rating : 4.6/5
Whether Bengali or not, anyone who will try the platters here will definitely fall in love with the taste.
The restaurant has really catchy paintings in the frame that symbolises Bengali culture. The Rabindra Sangeet that plays at background is enough to soothe the soul.
Koshe Kosha in Kolkata is the destination for authentic Bengali cuisine. Ordered the combo pack by Zomato. Basanti pulao, Kosha mangsho and dim Kosha. It was awesome. Tastes great. Very simple and not so spicy.
We ordered thali n it was wide fare of bengali cuisine. Very tasty food n good service.. i highly recommend this place for food lovers n food bloggers
OH GOD. This place is Love.
The Gondhoraj Ghol is my anyday go to drink!
Be it prawn Malai curry or daab chingri or like fish - I so love this place for their food!
We had our 1st anniversary party organised here with a specially curated buffet menu. And I must say this had been the best choice we made. They gave us the whole 1st floor for our guests. The hospitality was at its best. The staffs were prompt in their service and did their best to make us comfortable .The flow of food was quite good and they served it piping hot.Plus they decorated the place also with balloons which is quite apreciable. Moreover the taste of each and every food item was top notch. Each and every guest praised the food quality and taste.Really pleased with the place .I want to take this opportunity to thank the whole team of koshe kosha ,park street for making my occassion all the more special.
Koshe Kosha is a perfect place for Bengali cuisine. I visited the Golpark outlet few months back and later I went to the Park Street one. Which I like the most is, both places are totally different, though they have the same name and both are good in their own way.
The Golpark outlet will welcome you with homely gesture while the Park Street one will give you a glimpse of the city of joy.
The wall Arts of Kolkata, Howrah Bridge, Satyajit Ray, Feluda, Tilottoma, Durga Puja and bookshelves full of Bengali books made me happy.
The place is amazing with delicious food and well behaved staff.
Do visit this place once at least.
5/5
Very nice food in terms of taste as well as oil and masala. Staff is very courteous and patient. Just ambience is not same as seen in the pics due to water seepage and peeling of plaster.
This place will give you perfect bong vibes with it's ambiance and food. Being a bengali and a foodie, visiting these places are must for me. The food was perfect, in taste, quality and presentation, all of them. The service was also good. Hope to visit there soon.
Awesome food .....please try to improve ali jhinge posto.... But dhakai mutton gondhoraj chicken macher matha diyee dal alu bhaja daab chingri malai bhapa bhetki all were good
Have visited this outlet of Koshe Kosha multiple times.
No complains, service is really good, food is great as well. Bill for two comes to about âš800/-
This restaurant has the Bengali vibe and theme to it.
Being a non Bengali, I loved the interiors and the overall ambiance.
The food was good too and it satiated my need to have authentic Bengali food.
Authentic Bengali cuisine with reasonable price.
they have wide varieties of Bengali dishes and desserts. especially enjoyed that mango curd and baked rasgulla.
I have been to this place quite often. Really like the atmosphere and theme. Simple and sober. Even the menu and food is purely authentic Bengali cuisine. Really like it.
Found this restaurant while searching for some good Eastern/North-eastern food. Quaint little yet spacious place with decor showing literary history of West Bengal. We found out good collection of proper Bengali food and tried ordering the chicken cutlet, gondhoraj chicken and pulao. Amazing food, not very oily, very tasty, served with a smile. It was a heartwarming experience in the cold winters of Kolkata. The cherry on top was Zomato Gold. Will definitely try to visit it again and recommend to others too.
It's really a good experience..if u r fond of bengali food than u should definitely try this place...
We have ordered basanti polao nd gonhoraj chikn..it was really delicious not so spicy..I liked it..
Been there for the first time.
The ambience was warming, courteous staff and the food was fresh and delicious.
Bong souls head out to this place when your inner bangaliyana starts craving.
Food was delicious! The variety in the menu is impressive. I ordered the non-veg thali. I loved the way the restaurant is decorated. It's an ideal place for a quiet meal with your friends and family.
This was my birthday morning and we try to something in Bengali cuisine...This was absolutely perfect for us....Beautiful ambience..We tried their special menu kal baishaki mangsho, that was amazing..I am in love with nolengurer ice cream.âŖī¸
Best mutton kosha in Kolkata. And this restaurant is always in my check list whenever I am in Kolkata.. Kal boishaki mangsho is a must try along with morug pulav is a great combination
Awesome foods. Loved the ambiance and staffs' behavior. Prices are reasonable and some seem to be cheaper for the taste. Tried Chitol mach er muitha and dhakai mangsho with plain basmati rice.
They gave complementary sagu papad and salad. Gandhoraj ghol was also nice.
We were starving from the morning, but that din't stop us from finding a finedine place using Google maps as we always dođ¤Ŗ.Sometimes I become so much obsessed with imagination of good food that it makes us walking towards opposite direction and then we have to walk double distanceđđ¤.Okay,so last day Bengali cuisine was it which we tried at Koshe kosha,Park Street outlet(it is situated on the lane of Peter cat-Kareem's).The restaurant is two storeyed, the 1st floor decoration is much better than the ground floor.Essence of total "Bangaliana" was in the air.Beautiful collection of different books from different genre were there for customers to go through. The interior was nice with wall paintaings and paper cuttings.Allover ambience was good.Their service and behaviour was okay.It was a total "Fish day" regarding the dishes we ordered-
1.Dim Chingri Devil-Two pieces of Devil were served with proper amount of tomato sauce and kasundi but very very less amount of salads. On asking for more salads they made me dissapointed.Traditional Egg Devil stuffed with shrimps, half boiled eggs added more taste to the preparation, and the stuffing was balanced and well cooked. It was fine as a starter (Recommended) [Price:-135/-]
2.Non-Veg Combo(Pabdar Jhal)-The combo consists of one plate rice (enough for one person)well cooked,One bowl of Sona muger dal with few peas but the dal needed to be boiled a little more,Some alu chips(I was a bit disappointed cause I expected aluvaja that we normally have at homeđ),One piece of Pabda (Pabdar Jhal)was over fried which made it less tasty, one masala crispy pappad and a small bowl of aamer chatniđ.I liked this chatni and pappad most.U can try this if u r a Pabda lover,u can mention to them not to fry the Pabda so much.(Recommended) [Price:-275/-]
3.Non-Veg Combo(Pomfreter Jhal)-The combo consists of one plate rice(enough for one person)well cooked,One bowl of Sona muger dal with few peas but again the dal needed to be boiled a little more,Some alu chips(Same disappointment u knowđ),One piece of Pomfret and this one was perfect in taste đ,I loved it.One masala crispy pappad and a small bowl of aamer chatni. If u are a Pimfret lover definitely try this here.(Highly recommended) [Price:-295/-]
4.Cola drinks-It was simply a glass of coke.I don't think I need to describe this oneđ.[Price:-35/-]
Now coming to the rating part according to me-
1.Ambience-4/5
2.Service and Behaviour-4/5
3.Food-3.9/5[.1 mark is deducted for the over fried Pabdađ]
It is very good place for those who loves Bengali Cuisine and a must try for those who never visited yet.
Thanks for the company love Avronil Saha

Good Bengali restaurant... The quality is nice... The authentic Bengali food with beautiful atmosphere. But the wash basin is poor and it's in a small toilet. They should change that.
This was my first time to the Ripon Street outlet. Ambience is ok. We ordered Kabiraji which was excellent along with Bhetki Paturi which was also delicious. Posto bora was also quite good. Service was ok. The place does not have abundant parking space and hence that could be a hassle.
Best place to have bengoli food or I must say Kolkata food, I tried all vegetarian once because of the obvious reasons that I am a vegetarian which includes Echor chingari,
Gondhoraj ghol, Aam chanar cutlet , Mochar chop , Poster bora.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this authentic Bangali restaurant Koshe Kosha, and the experience was nothing short of a flavorful journey to the heart of Bengal. From the moment I walked in, the warm and rustic ambiance immediately pleased me.
The menu boasted a wide array of traditional Bangali dishes, each described with mouthwatering detail. I opted for my favourite Bengali food combination "Basanti pulao with Mutton kosha", a delicately spiced mutton preparation that perfectly encapsulated the essence of Bangali cuisine. I also tried fish fry. The fish was impeccably fresh, and the blend of mustard seeds, turmeric, and green chilies danced on my palate, creating a symphony of flavors.
The courteous staff were more than willing to share insights about the dishes and their origins, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. The price is slightly more but according to their quality and service that is justified.
No Bangali meal is complete without desserts, and I indulged in the exquisite " Baked Rasgulla." The sweetness was balanced to perfection, a testament to the chef's skill. So overall I will recommend this restaurant to all of you if you want authentic Bengali food to experience.
Good place...a small one! Food really
Taste good! Fresh lime soda and fish fry were excellent! Rest was very good! Mutton can be improved. Overall a good bengali food experience! If ordering a meal and you dont want pulao...Something which i liked as compared to other restaurants...they replace it accordingly with steamed rice or roti at no extra cost!
Great place for authentic Bengali food. Do not miss the Daab Chingri (Prawns with rice) if you like seafood
I'd rate 6 out of 5 for this epic restaurant. Fantastic ambiance and they play old Bengali songs inside. A very cosy ambiance and authentic Bengali food. We had basanti pulao, bhetki paturi, mutton kosha, Malai daab chingri, plain rice as main course and baked rosogolla with mango curd as dessert. Baked rosogolla was so soft which I've never had anywhere. Malai daab chingri was another mouthwatering dish which no one should miss.
Very peaceful place to have meal. I have visited this restaurant multiple times. Kosha Mangsho, plain rice, plain roti , aaloo bhaja , luchi , begun bhaja .. almost all Bengali items are good. Itâs like home cooked food. The beverages were also great like Gondhoraj ghol ( my favourite ) , masala ghol. What I didnât like is that the basin to wash hands is inside the washroom. Except that itâs good.
Not enough area for parking.
Excellent bengali resturant in Rippon street . I had mahabhoj thali in which there was brinjal fry, daal, cauliflower curry, jhuri alu bhaja, Bhetki paturi ,Basanti pulao, salad, shukto Chicken curry , chutney , Papad and Rasgulla . And in drinks i has Aam pora shorbot. Mini thali is also available .
The range for Thali for one one person is Above 600.lot of other option is also there .
I am fully satisfied
Had heard a lot about them, and finally got time to try them out. The place is quite old and the outlook is nice and homely with the walls adorning old Kolkata pictures.
The menu had a lot of options, so the best option was to try out their thalis. We went for three different ones - Fish/Chicken/Prawns. And loved each one of them, especially the prawns one.
Also tried their special Nolen Gur Ice-cream, which was ok.
Overall it was nice lunch.
Loved the ambience and experience here
Authentic Bengali restaurant, the food was soo good but the prices are little high.
I had daab chingiri and Basanti pulao. Daab chingiri was soo good I can't tell you the sweetenes of Coconut milk gives it a better taste and it is served also with the daab
Very good experience!! The food was delicious, we ordered Bhetki Chingrir Melbondhon, Plain rice, Sona Muger dal, Mochar ghonto, Chingri malaikari(badga),Basanti Pulao, Mutton kosha. Each and every dish was tasty and properly cooked. Though the rice was a bit hard. The atmosphere and service was excellent.
Had a really wonderful time there. One of the best Bengali cuisine restaurants in Kolkata. The food was scrumptious. Had chicken thali for lunch. The quality as well as the quantity of the food was commendable. The ambience is very pleasant along with Bengali theme oriented decor. Will visit the place again.
Very good place for Bengals foods .... all kind of fish are very testy ... meat are OK... but only for Bengali type veg and fish this place are osam ...
Ultimate bengali food. It was so so tasty. We were hungry and wanted to try some proper bengali food. We searched around and asked a friend and he suggested this place. We walked a bit to the place from St Paul's Cathedral, but was worth it as we had gotten quite hungry. The food was amazing and so was the service. Must try is the Basanti Pulao, Dhakai Mangsho mutton and the best, Mocha Chingri prawns. It was so good that when we saw on the menu that there are branches of it in Bangalore, we were thrilled. Another thing is the rustic look that they have given to the place. It sorta shows, that rich bengali culture. 5/5. Definitely will visit again.
