One of my favourite places which serves delicious punjabi food in Kolkata. Russel Dhaba is located in Russell Street, a few steps away from Maidan metro station. This place can easily accommodate 15-20 people at once. Most of the people come here to have tea and snacks. You gotta try their Aloo Paratha and Dal Makhani, both are simply delicious. Service is quick followed by warm hospitality.
Overall experience was amazing!
Russel Punjabi Dhaba is situated in Russel Street. It's famous for the tea and Lassi.
We had Aloo Paratha, Chicken Butter Masala and Tawa Rooti. The chicken butter masala was Very tasty. One must try their chai. And Lassi during Summers.
This is my go to place for pocket friendly lunch. Their parathas are just amazing! I’ve tried Aloo Paratha and Pyaaz Paratha with Dal Makhni - it was delicious! My meal here ends with a hot cup of tea.
However, the hygiene standards of this place should be improved.

From this place ordered aloo paratha. It was served with butter and pickle. Paratha was soft, crispy and well stuffed.
This has been my go to adda place to catch up with all my friends after work or college for ages now. It's been the same for my father. So after an entire day of shopping and being hungry after all that work, we decided to visit our all time favorite dhaba and have a hearty meal. We ordered Chicken Bharta and Chicken masala with Phulka and it could not have been better. I can go again and again to that place and keep eating the food they serve.

I like the food and it is mostly famous for tea and every Saturday night i go to russel punjabi dhaba for having tea and i love it.I went on sunday to have dinner. I had aloo parathas, rotis, tea and kashmiri aloo dum. The food was nice especially the aloo paratha. The food was simple. The service could be more good. Glasses of water were not served and the dishes was also of plastic not that good. We ordered aloo parathas, tea, rotis and kashmiri aloo dum and we just loved the simple tastes for them. The aloo paratha is the most popular here.

Who would imagine having Punjabi food in Kolkata? I am glad that on this work trip, pressed for time I made a quick stop here (suggested by my driver)
We ordered for Aloo Paratha, lassi, chola masala subzi and lassi..
The Aloo Paratha came with a dollop of butter, it was cooked like a kachori..quite thick and crispy. The masala stuffing had pieces of green chilli sauce which added the the overall taste.
The chana masala was good, I loved the lassi which was served on sikora (earthen pot) and was perfectly sweet and not too thick. The froth on top showed how it was freshly made
The best part of the meal was onion plate....fresh onion slices sprinkled with their own masala (they don't give recipe nor let you buy it) ...the most amazing onions I have had raw. You'll love it! It's charged for separately, please make sure you call for it
Well the staff and owner are not very polite that's the only reason to cut 1 mark here.
The place to be, for midnight tea, delicious aloo paratha and lots of adda. This is a legendary place which deserves the same credit as balwant and sharma.
Ordered for a Veg sandwich. The packaging was appropriate. It was fresh, soft and super delicious. Enjoyed it. Will definitely try out other items from their menu.
Super quality , wide variety of stuffed parathas , lassi is also good . Price is bit high but best to explore ur test . Go and try hope will like it
Awesome mix of great food and simple ambience, actually the ambience doesn't matters when the food is so good. The place is just like any normal dhaba(non ac) but the food they serve is lip smacking. Special mention for the aloo paratha(must try) and lassi (or Kesar lassi). The tea is also great. To keep in short the place is something you shouldn't miss when there is a craving for pure punjabi food.
Location- Russel Street and Middleton Street X-ing (close to The 42)
This is one of my favourite place for quick Punjabi food. I am a big fan of their aloo paratha which is really good in size and tasty as well. Since, this place is close to my work, I don't miss a chance to visit this place to have the parathas. A really good place for the paratha lovers.
what to say about this place? If you are craving for homemade parathas then do visit this place, Why? becuase you will not regret later 😅.
try there aloo paratha with lassi and what else you need?
there is so much memory attached to this place actually when i was working near theater road this Dhaba used to be our every morning breakfast adda which gave me so many tastes and memories too.
kya soch rahe ho? jakar khud taste karlo!
Located near Maidan metro. Its a small outlet with limited seating capacity. The food is good. Tea served here is excellent. Service is good too.
This is the perfect place for tea lovers and lassi lovers.
I have visited there with my friends and spent a great time there.
The chai is really awesome its comes in a mud cup and delicious taste.
and tried another famous lassi there. Which is really mouth watering.
This place is best for breakfast. Russel Punjabi Dhaba serves the best Chai in Kolkata. I love the samosa, kachori & lassi. The staff service is superb.
It is located just near icai building and one of the best place to hop in with friends especially the samosa and chai is awesome. The alu paratha is also good out here. Pls try soon
Not like a fancy resturant but full of flavours which won't let you down ever. The paratha was mouth watering. The lassi was also good. Usually people go here for breakfast. Great place to stop by for a quick breakfast.
This place is the best for breakfast, my favourite is aloo ka paratha with butter on top. Russel Punjabi Dhaba serves the best Chai in Kolkata to be honest. I love the samosa and kachori served here. The staff are really good and service is good too.
Food is lit. I just love their tarka and roti, alu me parathe and their chai. The servicing is in the car and even inside. I prefer one should sit inside the car only because there is no ac and good ambiance. Servicing is very fast ♥️.

What better than to enjoy some #aloo & #gobi parantha basked in butter on a winter night!!
Ofcourse, not to forget the best #ChickenBharta in town available at this 70 year old Dhaba..
Dinner was good - nope - damn good actually!!

By the way, have you joined Kolkata Food Trotters on Facebook yet??
This is one of the places where I drop in for my morning paratha cravings. I have tried aloo paratha, mix paratha , paneer paratha etc. The parathas are served hot and are lip smacking . Achaar and extra dollop of butter is served as a condiment here. Moreover a chai here is mandatory whenever I cross this place.
It's great to visit this place for a light snack and tea. do try their tikkas and the channa chapta that is sold by the bihari lads in dhotis. it is advisable to park your car right there and be seated in it and enjoy your cup of tea and snack
Of all the dhabas in the city.. this one is my favorite. The must order dishes are alu paratha, chicken Butter masala, chicken bharta and lassi..
Renowned place for its tea...lassi and parathas...their Aloo paratha is a must ..also their sandwiches a worth...Its a must visit on my list every winter...Just couldnt miss the sarso da saag...its 5/5 from my end...
This is a small place located just near to Maidan Metro Street at Russel Street. We have tried their Mutton Pulao and Aloo Parantha. The Aloo Parantha was delicious and one of the best we have ever had. The Mutton Pulao was sufficient in quantity for two and left us in a happy mood.
An establishment in the heart of central business district of Kolkata. Authentic preparation .seating arrangement is old and without air conditioning but you will love the place.A nice place to have Samosa/ Chai and Lassi as well.
It's a place where I go and eat the food on the street using the car as a table.
Nothing much to say apart from the fact that the food is delicious...the tadka dal, palak paneer, tandoori rotis. Feels very satisfying after having a meal here.
Too good too eat just once. On the heart of Kolkata, a pure north Indian treat.the paranthas, samosa are quite good.
Love the chai they serve. The service is good but the 1st floor seating is a little congested.
Nothing beats the amazing chai and samosa at this place. Favourite chai spot in town. Do try their parathas too. This old place is a treasure for foodies. Must visit place in Kolkata
Location - Chowringhee
A small place serving typical North Indian food both veg and non veg. The paranthas were good, served with butter and pickel. Had the tea and the lassi too. Liked the kesar lassi more.

Freshly made ... #chai #zaikaloveforfood #russelpunjabidhaba #kulladspecial
Good food. I am an ardent fan of their aloo paratha since years back. probably the best in Kolkata but it is better if served on the table. packing and delivery affects the crispiness. and their ambiance needs to be uplifted.
Tried the popular Veg Mixed Parantha this morning !! And it was just sinfully amazing !! Loved the generous amount of filling they’d put it. It was so hot and crispy and buttery , a perfect Sunday Breakfast meal !!
#Awesome Food #Best chicken bharta you can ever taste and the parathas are delicious too..
#Authentic Punjabi food.. A place to visit and a taste to remember..Good job guys
A really awesome dhaba to satisfy one's hunger... Taste of food is just heavenly... Still today they are maintaining the age old fanning system instead of A.C which attracted me a lot.Behaviour of the staffs is very polite.Service is very good and fast.Price is moderate. One must not miss the varieties of Paranthas here.We ordered Gobi Paratha with butter & pickle ,Alu Paratha with butter & pickle and cold drink. It was scrumptious.
Food quantity was perfect and quality was average.. The gobhi was lil burn I guess.. Bt than it was edible.. Thank you.
loved the chicken Bharta !
Coffee packaging should improve. use sealing for container closure to avoid spillage
The aloo paratha was thick and tasty but the amount of achar they provided for 80 bucks was less.. I couldn't finish the entire paratha with the achar... Apart from that... The quality of food was fine...
balle.balle keep the focus going great
Small dhaba near the camac street...difficult to locate since the board isn't quite visible..seemed to be a regular for the office goers...not a very pleasing ambience...for food ordered gobhi parantha, chana masala, matar malai and kesar lassi.
Gobhi paranthas (4.5/5): really good and fulfilling. Comes with a blob of butter and achaar. Good taste. 0.5 deducted because it could have been softer. Taste wise no complaints.
Chana masala(2/5): A complete let down since you don't really expect dhaba items to be such bland in taste.
Matar malai (4/5): Taste and quantity both were good
Kesar lassi (3.5/5): Not a lassi person hence it seemed to be okay...could have been sweeter but that's a personal preference.
Felt like they could invest a little more in terms of enhancing the seating quality and accessories..For example they had only a single menu card upstairs...n the staircase was really not a very good one. One may easily trip over if not paying serious attention.
P.s. pricey with respect to the service and utilities provided. Not really a dhaba as the name proclaims it to be
Much hype.. tea is excellent.
Food by appearance is much appealing by taste, but it doesn't add much value for money. Decade old hype for place, but quality has deteriorated.
I had a delightful experience having aloo paratha at this Punjabi dhaba. The aloo paratha exceeded my expectations. The paratha was perfectly crispy on the outside and had a generous, flavorful filling of spiced mashed potatoes. The accompanying yogurt and pickles complemented the dish wonderfully. While I thoroughly enjoyed the food but atmosphere was basic and they can focus on improving hygiene as well. there's always room for improvement, hence the 4-star rating. I recommend this dhaba for its delicious aloo paratha and genuine Punjabi flavors.
Great place..... located in Russell Street in park Street near the building 42. Food is good & tasty...me & my friends are enjoying the food .... Aloo Paratha is better then paneer Paratha ..we ordered chicken bharta alo Paratha paneer Paratha onion salad dahi and plain roti .... Food delivery is very first. Stuff are very good. Everyone give us very well service. It's a very old restaurant....it's also walking distance from hotel park. I love all food. We all love Russel Punjabi dhaba and aslo want to go there many times....and want to taste other food of this Panjabi dhaba. Guys please visit one time I assured that you love all the foods of this Panjabi dhaba. All food they given is very fresh and tasty.
This place has recently become one of my favourite food joints🙌
Aloo Parathas are a must try.
They serve aloo parantha with a good portion of butter and Achhar.
Aloo parthas are usually fried but only in this particular I love it even when it is non-fried.
Loved the desi taste of palak paneer.
And you simply cannot miss the lassi from this place.
And finish it off with a cadak chai here❤️
The prices of the foods are a bit on the higher range and they do not accept UPI payments, only cash payments are accepted. And since the place is small, it is a bit noisy.
But the taste of the food is worth all of it.
Russel punjabi dhaba is very famous at Park Street of kolkata. We just had a tea late at night, but the shop was still very busy. People are coming from various places to spend time here for a quick bite.
Even in the middle of the night, the parking area was full of the vehicles.
The tea was very good 👍
Service was very good 👍
The place situated in Park Street provides Tasty homely food. Quick service, well behaved and cooperating staff. Raita is a must try. Not costly at all, worth of money.
Clean premises. Visit this place with to have a yummy lunch or dinner.
Delicious Dhaba style food. A bit over priced but nonetheless amazing food. The tea and paranthas are very famous. A very feasible brunch option in the heart of Park Street.
Perfect place for your adda🤪
Have chai sutta here or have north indian food for dinner you will surely love it❤️
Chai and coffee tastes reaally good and you can also try parathas they serve very yummy parathas. Pricing is not high it's budget friendly you will surely visit again and again.
Excellent no frills dhaba near to Maidan metro. Aloo paratha, chicken bharta, dal tadka, chicken saag and jeera rice were all well executed. Good for a late lunch
A good place to enjoy quick food in the car. Tea and coffee are really delicious and so is their lassi. They serve good food as well. Like their egg tadka n Anda bhurji us really awesome.
Sikh family Bringing a real taste of Punjab right at the heart of Kolkata.
The place is located very close to city attraction and Maidan Metro station is hardly even 200 meters away.
The place has enough seats for dine in options and you can always eat in your car or even on the road if you are comfortable.
A must place to visit for the breakfast, or chai breaks or tea meeting with your friends, family or alone.
Accessible from all major stays of park street.
Must try their Kulhad Chai/Tea, Nimki or Namkeen, Singara (Samosa) and Aloo Paratha.
Also, at the evening if you are lucky, you find people selling chana jor garam just outside this shop which is a must try too.
