Yesterday I visited this hidden gem at Hindustan Park named Tero Parbon serving delicious and quality Bengali food. The idea behind the name simply being to be a part of every occasion by serving authentic Bengali dishes in a long forgotten reminiscence of ancient Bengali mansion with wall paintings (the interiors are beautifully done in that particular way) to provide a Bangaliana Gastronomical experience.
From Dimer Devil, Fish Fry to Shukto, Daab Chingri, Kosha Mangsho & Bhapa Ilish each and every item was top notch.
I loved the Hanser Dimer Devil stuffed with minced meat also the Fish Fry was equally well prepared, crispy and full of flavours.
For the mains I had the best Daab Chingri ever the gravy was thick and so flavourful. The Bhapa Ilish was no doubt great the quality of the fish was good. Also the Mutton Kosha with Dum Pulao is an all time favourite combo to have. The mutton was succulent and well coated in the dark gravy.
If you love 'Bangali Khabar Dabar' this place should definitely be in your bucket list.
Pocket pinch: INR 700-800 for two.

Being a Bengali, I'm quite sceptical to visit a Bengali restaurant. Visiting this place was such a pleasurable experience. The place has a very unique decor, representing an old Bengali mansion, with a completely wooden interior, making it look spectacular.
Coming to the food, we tried a number of items and in brief, they were all amazing. For starters, we had Dimer Devil and Fish Fry. My favourite item from the entire menu was certainly the Devilled Egg. It was generously coated with meat and tasted amazing. The fish fry was equally good.
Coming to the main course, we had a plethora of Bengali items:
Rice
Dal
Ghee
Begun Bhaja
Daab Chingri
Kosha Mangsho

These items were just cooked to perfection while the daab chingri just stood out, with the thick and creamy, coconut gravy. For desserts, we had chutney and doi which are again, an integral part of the Bengali cuisine.
It was a wonderful experience, visiting this place and I'd surely like to visit here, again.

Thank you Tero Parbon for inviting me over.

Tbh, we had planned to visit Saptapadi , which is just adjacent to it but fortunately or unfortunately, it was all booked and we were very hungry , and lucky to be able to hop into Tero Parbon and ultimately having a good time. They have a vast menu and all the dishes are from authentic Bengali quisine. We ordered luchi, which were fulko as you can see in the photo , kosha mangsho (chicken) and it tastes home cooked, shukto which I loved the most, plain steamed rice and basmati was provided as expected, cholar dalna which had all the right flavours and bhetki paturi which was prepared to perfection. Staffs and service were top notch. We had a gastronomical experience. Our total bill was 1134 after the huge palette we had.

The name just describes bangali, "Baro mashe tero parbon". Bongs can never be separated from bengali foods, so here's a restaurant which can satisfy the taste buds of a bangali.
The foods we tried are-

• Steamed Rice
• Mochar ghonto (Rs 125)
• Bhetki Macher Kalia (Rs 220)
• Rui Kalia (Rs 180)
• Doi pona (Rs 180)
• Payesh (Rs 130)

Everything was just great. Staffs were great too. They also started their "AAM SPECIAL MENU".
Would definitely visit again to try that.

We happen to be in this place for lunch. Ordered the following stuff-
Kosha mangsho (Mutton tenderised in Indian spices with yogurt- Very well cooked)
Chitol macher peti- This is fish’s peti made in red colour gravy. The fish was fresh, but, the chef had added way too much sugar and thus it became tad sweet. Though they remade the gravy and then it was better well balanced
Morola mach bhaaja- The small fish is deep fried in the batter, this was absolutely delightful
Ilish macher Paturi- This was very well made, the Hilsa was pretty fresh as well
Radhapollobi and cholar daal- Fir vegetarians, this is a bliss. The radhapollobi was so light and beautifully fried, Judy perfect with the cholaar daal
Aam doi- The Mishra doi with a twist & added chunks of mango. Pretty nice
Customer service- Genuine and well mannered
Ambience- Simple, colourful decor, very cosy and homely vibes
Value for money- Decent

Great ambience. Friendly staff. Coming to food we ordered fish roll which was really nice. Daab shorbot is disheartening as it is just plain coconut water so don't know why they call it shorbot. The keema koraishuti polao was very fragrant and full of flavours. We ordered both mutton and chicken. The chicken was undercooked. Being a Bengali restaurant they still need to master on making chutney. We ordered pineapple chutney and we could taste hard sugar coating on the pineapple. Overall Google experience.

Being a bengali I never had that craze too go out and munch in some bengali food. Coz that's our regular meal. But coincidentally I had my first experience of Bengal food in Tero parbon bcoz of my প্রবাসী বাঙালি cousin. 😂.... And the experience was awesome.

Decor - very good.

Food- rice and polao are not my cup of tea. So I will only review about the fish items i had. I didn't indulge into chicken or mutton.

To start with shorshe pabda.. Prepared in shorshe and onion gravy. It was so good
Ilish paturi.... Omg. Heaven on earth. Taste is just too much perfect. Creamy, rich in aroma, and the gravy mouth watering.

Dab chingri... A wonderful creation, served in dab. A white sweet and salty curry with jumbo prawns, with coconut paste and cream. It was finger licking good.

When it's about Bengali food in Bengal, it's quite tough to deal with. People always look around for authenticity in taste. Well, I think I have found my perfect Bengali food destination here finally! The decor n ambience of that old zamindar house with antique wooden furnitures will surely make u feel one. Coming to food, that was just "wooaahhh"...

#sorshe pabda: pabda fish, fried till perfection and then made in a mustard curry which was too good.

#pabda jhal: another pabda dish prepared in an onion gravy, not too spicy, but color n taste was perfect.

#pabda paturi: another wonderful dish, where the fish is cooked with mustard and selected spices, all wrapped in a banana leaf and then cooked. The taste was awesome.

#dab chingri: a wonderful creation, served in the dab itself. A white sweet curry cooked in the baby coconut pulp paste, cream and cashew paste. The curry was just heavenly, with the salty flavor of the lobsters. It was finger licking good!

Overall, every item was just lip smacking! The best part is when they served Kolkata meetha paan after ur done with the dining. I think that's what has a sweet ending. I will suggest this as the best place to have Bengali cuisine.

But I didn't know if those were Bengali.

Ambience was simple and little kind of home... They need to work on their wash basin and wash room.

Taste wise i found really good healthy and tasty. Most important is , they managed to twick like making delicious food but in homely style and not so spicy. Place is quite big with standard decoration. Price wise i feel bit high comparing to the quantity. One plate of Alu posto cost INR 200 plux tax where thats comes in a mid sized bowl which can be managed to serve two person. They accept all types of payments. Since i visited during festival time so no idea if they offer any kind of thalis, actually i did not find in the menu card. Attached photos were our today's menu for 3 people and thats sufficient. I recommend this place to visit and try dub chingri as must.

Starters are great. Loved the rosun bhapa mach n pulao. Tried 3 types of ilish dishes all were undercooked. They replaced one ilish dish but again that was undercooked too. mutton was amazing.

We enjoy going to this restaurant with family when we are in Kolkata. The food is delicious and service good. I found the shorshe elish too jhaal and not as tasty as previously but apart from that every dish we had was very good and their food is always a treat.
