This 160 year old sweet shop has secret ingredient behind their long golden journey , this secret ingredient is their food quality and taste ,..
Till now they are maintaining it ,..
The ambiance is fully vintage ,
Putiram is known for the Bengali Misthi that they serves, especially their "Misthi Dahi " ( must test it ) & "Rasmalai" ..
They also servers some snacks like Luchi / radhabollbi & cholar Dal / aloor dam ,.
I also preferred Luchi with cholar Dal ,..
Their has a unique service style , such as self service ,..
This outlet is small with limited seating capacity, but the price is very reasonable , ..with in 40 to 50 rupees you can complete your breakfast , that's why it's the most popular breakfast Destination ,..
In the frame - 1) chitrakut ( A famous Bengali sweet )
2) Rajbhog
3) Gulab jamun ( They serves hot Gulab jamun so must try it )
We spent just 30 rupees for those 3 mouth watering sweet
Amazing sweets and snacks outlet. One of the legendary brand in the city. The sweet dishes are pretty good but the Radha Ballavi (Flat Bread) served with Ghee (Clarified Butter) based Alur Dum is outstanding â perfectly fried non oily Radhaballavi with delicious Alur Dum spiced to perfection. They do not use Red Chilli powder. So, by looks Alur Dum might not be that appealing. But tastewise, its pure bliss. Quality stuffs with higher price range would not certainly let you down.Â
As I am a student of Kolkata Medical College, I am a regular customer of Putiram.. So I know the best thing one can have here . It's Kachori and dal at Rs 30 . The Rasagolla is quite tasty . Also here one can look for Chanar cake , dahi, rasmalai ... Just opposite the College Square..

Putiram is one of the most renowned oldest sweet shops in the city located in college Street just beside the SBI. The radhaballavi & cholar dal and gulab jamun are to die for.
The pricing is minimal and self service. They are open from 6am to 9pm. From morning 6-10am they sell puri and aloo dum but from 10:30 they switch to radhaballavi and cholar dal.
If you are in college Street then this is definitely a must try.
This shop is heritage property, and many more tradion is with this place..
So few days ago I tried their famous kachori..
1plate kachori is enough for one persom ,but price wise size of kachori is li'l bit small, but taste is awesome I must say,and also tried their rasogolla ,it was awesome,so spongy and great in taste..

Worth visiting to get an instant Kolkatta vibe !
This is a lovely sweet shop located at college street area. Used to go there during my college and university days.Last week went to this shop with my sister and had Kachori,Rasgulla and Singara. This is such a pocket friendly shop.

One of the oldest sweet shops in the heart of the city. As it's near my place I visit this place often mostly for their Raddha balavi. The sweets contain the same taste and flavor like before. The staffs are friendly too. I would always recommend the Raddha balavi with Chholar daal of this place and if you ask they serve you that chutney (which they serve with singara) in the plate too. Raddha Balavi also comes with Alu'r Torkari it's tasty but not as much as the chholar daal thing.

The legendary sweet shop in North Kolkata, Putiram is known to one and all. I tried their famous kochuri and cholar daal for breakfast, and I must say that I'm not disappointed. The cholar daal tasted great and so was the kochuri.
The famed breakfast place of central kolkata did not disappoint. We had excellent luchi, cholar dal for breakfast. The dal was amazing and so was the luchi. Then I had a rosogolla which was superb as well. If I was around that area more often,I would have had this breakfast so often!! Highly recommended.
This is one of the oldest sweet shops of Kolkata, most probably and I always wanted to visit this place. I went there with my tuition friends and we ordered for different sweet items. I specifically loved the Rosogolla, it was one of the best I ever had
Heritage and putiram are synonym. This a very popular sweetshop in college street (Surya sen street) Kolkata. They have wide variety of sweets which are excellent in taste. One should try langcha and jolbhora. They also serve luchi and cholar dal.
So it's a legendary place... We all know about Putiram Sweets... So I tried the Puri,Dal and rosgolla... The crispy Puri with sweet Dal just fabulous... Rosgolla was good... Price was affordable... Overall great
I had order luchi & cholar dal..cholar dal was awesome.... excellent food quality.. price reasonable..đđđkeep it up...all the best...đđđ
I frequent to Putiram, be it in the morning or evenings for some piping hot kochuri, cholar dal and sweets. Each piece of Kochuri comes at
Rs. 15/- This place is highly recommended. The ambience is not unlike a regular crowded eatery but there is sitting space inside. The staff are very courteous.
In frame: Kochuri, Cholar Dal, Kalo Jam, Pantua.
The shop is like my second home, and it's a shame to review it after visiting nearly 10 years. Whenever I go to college street visit to this shop is must. I must start with the legendary Kochuri- cholar dal combo which was magical and I also add their alur dom with it. The Kochuri has a typical distinct flavour and cholar dal has a mild sweetness and natural yellow colour and the dals are perfectly cooked to melt in the mouth. Now come to the sweet part, I will start with Darbesh a typical Bengali sweet with a distinct aroma and melt in a mouth quality, now the shorer laddu the dried version of rabri it's just heaven and the pantua it's the show stopper there so soft so delicate taste yet not over sweet. In a nutshell Putiram is Legend when it comes to sweets.
Putiram famous for radhaballavi, alurdom r sada doi..
this 3's are must try
Roshmalai was very spongy and medium sweetness
But rabri was very kirkira misti which u can't eat much after 3-4 spoons
This outlet is at College Street. Old and famous outlet in Kolkata. Kachoris and dal are just awesome in taste. Quality and quantity both are good. Must try. Will visit again for rest of the items.
I was involved in an food walk in college street. And our first location was the famous Putiram. Have heard about this place from mostly my father or uncle and then decided to try out to see what's all the fuss was about. We tried out different items there.
We tried the Kachuri and with that the lyangcha. I am a huge fan of Lyangcha and loved this one as well. Kachuri Torkari was decent too. However, the Rasogolla was amazing. We ordered that one as well. And honestly we loved it.
I would love to visit this place sometime soon and try out their other items but overall I liked it. A small sweet shop in college street and you'll love it.
As my office is in College square, Putiram has become the daily dose of sweetness in my life. I have tasted their Pantua and Chanar Jilipi for several times and they tasted very good. I have also tried their Singara which is a perfect evening snack along with a hot cup of tea. This is one of the legendary sweet shops in College street area and I definitely recommend to try their sweets.
One of my regular haunts during the college and university days ! Luchi with chholar daal and/or aalur dam is a must have ! Rosogolla is also great !
A delight from my childhood. The Kachorii Sabzi
Is iconic. Kudos for the same delightful taste which has become an addiction for life. Cannot resist visiting again and again even though now I live far from the place. Sunday mornings are bare without the kachoris of Putiram
Putiram needs no special mention when it comes to having a quintessentiall bengali breakfast which is kochuri and cholar daal.
But it was evening time and i was in mood for some light snack so i ended up having 2 sweets.
In frame-
Butterscotch sandesh and abar khabo sandesh (đ yes you read it right it is the name of the sandesh).
The butter scotch sandesh as the name suggests has butterscotch flavour infused in it and it was totally melt in mouth.
The abar khabo sandesh had a chena layer over it and this was also good.
Both were priced at Rs10 each which is quite reasonable.
The location has a colonial charm to it, and College Street is always been frequented by book lover bengalis. So there are many legendary outlets here that have survived the test of time. Putiram is one such name, Their radhaballavi will please your tongue but accompaniment Cholar Dal will please your mind, tastes unique. Chocolate sandesh, kalakand and of course rosogollas will be good to end the meal
Located just opposite College Square this place is veteran when it comes to Radhaballavi served with alur dom which absolutely different (no holud only ginger chilly paste with panchphoron, but they serve this only during special occasions) and sweets. One of the oldest shops in North Calcutta this place is standing strong amongst other food joints in College Street. The hot gulab jamun they serve will surely make your day. Must visit place!

This is one of the oldest sweet shops of the town located beside Paramount. I tried their rabdi along with some other sweets. Rabdi was a bit sweeter according to my taste bud but tasted amazing. Other sweets were good also.
One of the best place in kolkata, you'll love the food, tastes so well and also don't forget to taste sweets, the quality of the food is also too good. You must visit this place, atleast once
I don't want to compete with my foodie partner in complimenting Putiram. But I have to admit that Putiram is bae. My favourites include mishti doi, lyangcha, kachori, and omg, malpoya!
It's putiram. Come on. You don't need a review for putiram. It's awesome. The kachori and sweets and everything is so good. I love the place. My father loves the place.
It's a way old sweet shop located beside paramount in North kolkata. Tasted my all time favourite Rabdi there and it was just amazing. Good shop for sweet lovers.
Finally Putiram. A fantastic sweet shop situated in the heart of the city called College Street.
I have ordered kochuri with cholar daal and mihidana which taste amazingly well.
Price tag
Kochuri - INR 7.50
Mihidana - INR 30(100 gm)
This is one of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata. Putiram is famous for 2 things- kochuri-chholar daal and sada mishti doi. Whenever I go to college street I have never missed this place for a plate of kochuri-chholar daal and sada mishti doi.
The good part is that they have maintained their unique taste throughout these years.
Their kachori & cholar dal is just superb....And the langchas they make are too good in taste.....Their samosas is also very nice and the chutney which they serve with the samosas is my most favourite.....
Had their butterscotch roll sandesh. So tasty, l haven't had such a thing before. I am sure you guys don't want to miss it, so hurry. It is a melt in the mouth experience.
Heard about this place from my uncle and grandfather since i was a kid . And finally got to visit this famous old eatery of Kolkata.. ordered the popular kochuri and cholar daal (âš30) it has 4 kochuris and langcha (âš10) and it was totally worth it.. probably the best kochuri.. it was very light just had the required amount of oil..with just right amount of flavour in the daal.. it has the perfect consistency not too runny.. langcha was awesome too .
Absolutely recommended.. visit this place and have a experience about the heritage of Kolkata..
Legendary sweet hub. Needs no recommendations. And their legendary kochuri. Excellent place to have this. Other sweets are good too. Have to go place in college street
Putiram is like one of the oldest sweet shops in Kolkata located at college street. The shop has maintained the quality of the food all throughout and the price are very cheap so if you ever drop in my college St try out putiram sweets !
Putiram is an age old Kolkata eatery that has been around for decades. It is one of the most renowned names when it comes to the sweets scene of Kolkata. Located in College Street near College Square, this place is best known for its "Radhavallabhi - Chholar Dal." This place is always over crowded. Service is very prompt and thatâs what keeps the momentum of this place going. The namkeen items like kachodi or luchi and aloo torkari, singara are all awesome. It also sells a variety of sweets, like ice cream shondesh along with more traditional sweets such as rosogolla, mishti doi, pantua or madhukalash (a sandesh with a liquid jaggery filled centre).
Few days back I happened to visit this place. This sweet shop is one of the oldest and most renouned sweet shop in College street. The seating is a bit cramped and you would like to either stand and devour your food or get your food delivered. On my visit, I tried out the following items:
1. Radhaballavi with cholar daal- 4 pcs of Radhaballavi served with Cholar Dal cost us Rs 30/- only.
2. Langcha- A piece of langcha cost Rs 10/-
3. Kora Panker Gurer Rosogolla- Rs 10/- each
I really loved both the sweets especially the Gurer Rosogolla. The Radhaballavi was good but nothing extraordinary. Its good for a casual breakfast or evening snacks.
Putiram Sweets is said to be the best sweet shop in its vicinity by the locals of College Street. The quality of the sweets were really good, and their quality didn't degrade, unlike most sweets, even when refrigerated for 2 days.
One of the famous sweet shop in the streets of college square. It was in my bucket list for a long time. Putiram is one of the oldest shop as well.
Few days back, I went to a foof walk and encountered this old heritage.

I had tried their Kachuri ,Cholar daal, langcha and Kora pak er Rasogolla with that I had also tried their kaccha mango and pakka mango lassi from lassi centre beside Putiram. Believe me the quality of each and item is fresh and tasty.
It is located near college square and beside city college(Mirjapur city) . In my swimming days, most of the day I tried their kochuri with Dal and many types of sweet. Ambience is simple. Affordable price. Must try. đ
A visit to Kolkata is a must for foodies like us. Went in search of this place direct from the airport for breakfast. Itâs a very small place with sweets outside and minimal sitting inside.
What we ordered & ate:
1. Stuffed puri and cholar daal:
A must have for all who r in Kolkata . The puri was stuffed with green peas and other things and the taste was very different and fulfilling. Also the cholar dal was just as yummy accompanying it.
2. Singhada(samosa): A different kind of stuffing along with the normal aloo stuffing as well. Do try samosa here.

Putiram Sweets is located near College Square and has been fulfilling the desires of every resident and students around indulging them in sweet cravings and joy.
The prices are affordable and the quantity very satisfying.
Yesterday we went to the famous Putiram sweets of the college Street. We had the famous Radhaballavi with Cholar dal. I always find the the authentic taste of Radhaballavi here. We enjoyed it a lot.
I visited Puritam as was in college street area. I had their Bengali Kachori and singhara. The Kachori had green peas filling and was served with choler dal. The taste was very good in spite of being little sweet. The Singhara had filling of potato and cauliflower but itâs taste was average.
