Visited before lockdown. This place is famous for authentication bengali dishes.
As we had visited on Sunday so there was a special thali which price was 565/-
With all the veg item, refreshment drink they provided us Bhetki Paturi and Mutton Kosha đ
As there was a choice between Bhetki and Chingri we went for Bhetkiâ¤ī¸They also served misti doiđ
On that day by luck we got a chance to meet Parambrata Chattopadhyay as he was also present theređ¤
The staffs were too friendly and cooperative đ
Overall a great experience we had!
If you are looking for some authentic bengali food, this is the place. I specially suggest the dhonepata chicken, it's really a rare delicacy. The thalis arre good too. Not very pocket friendly and you'll find the place really crowded most of the times. Good place to host parties.
Value for money. Authentic Bengali cuisine served with warmth
I love Bengali food

Located on the globsyn building at sector 5, this is a place renowned for their bengali dishes.
We've tried,
Chicken thali : It had 6-7types of side dishes, including daal and chatni misti etc. The portion size was pretty good and enough for one person. All the dishes were decent in taste.
Polao combo : It had polao, chicken and luchi with some salads. Tbh the polao was dry and with raita is was horrible. I don't recommend this one at all.
The service was pretty slow, but the ambiance is really good. In the office area this is really nice place to have bengali dishes which will make you feel like home. Happy dining.
It is exactly in the globes building and they served us gondhoraj ghol ,4piece luchi, alurdom ,paneer ,dal, alu vaja ,kachkolar kopta curry, as we take 1 prawn thali ,so they served 2 good size of tiger prawns and the malaikari was good, and we take 2 mutton thali, mutton was good.I love the ambiance and the courteous staffs.
Imagine working in an office in Salt Lake and suddenly you wanted to have luchi and aloo dum. You might have to just give up the idea thinking that there might not be a proper restaurant in the area where you can enjoy the Bengali ambiance along with the food. Set inside a large space, it can comfortably accommodate around 30 people at once.
Ambience: 5/5
Quality: 5/5
Quantity: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Value for money: 5/5
Happy dining!
they host buffet only on Friday which is kind of a trimmed down verison of original buffet of 6 Ballygunj Road. to know more watch the Youtube Video by Debojyoti Vlogs

Recently I visited that place.. & it was such a good experience.. thali with the welcome drink was really tasty.. I ordered one chicken thali & one mutton thali.. but taste of chicken thali was better than the mutton one.. but I love the mouth freshener which dey provide at the last of all.. those who are paan lover like me, they will like it for sure! đ
Overall good experience and courteous staffs too.But What I didn't like that some major menu of bengali dishes were missing but overall I definitely recommend this to everybody. It will surely worth to your price.
Some specialities of this restaurant for your further helpđ
#Dab chingri
#misti doi
#mutton thali
A pretty good place for quick thali meal. Most of the items in the thali are served unlimited. Apart from different types of thalis, a la carte is also available. Pricing is much lower than the regular 6BP restaurants. Taste and food quality are really good.
Overall good experience at our very first visit to this outlet, wish to visit again
Ordered lunch from this outlet this afternoon i.e. 08-dec-2019 on the occasion of Maa's bitlrthday.
1. Very well packed
2. Qyality food
3. Quantity was satisfactory as well, except for the daab chingri.
Over all satisfied with the service.
Suggestion:
A) The price of daab chingri is rs 370 for only 6 pcs of prawns, which is a bit overpriced as we felt.
B) If the daab chingri can be parcelled with the whole daab (coconut) as they are coocked (rather than in a polythene box), i personally feel that would add more charisma to it - as we order the food for the daab stuffed with prawns.
1 point couldn't be given for these 2 only.
Rest we had great satisfaction.
We ordered Mutton Thali, Fish Fry and Chanar Malpoa. The food was very good considering quality and taste. They served all the items from the thali except Mutton multiple times.
My friends arranged my Aiburobhat as we wanted it to be as traditional as possible according to Bengali customs. We opted for mutton thali. The food was good however, some of us found some dishes to be less salty. The mutton and fish were great in taste. The spice was medium which is good for those who cannot tolerate too much spice. The gondhoraj ghol was not that great. Rest of the dishes were good.
Overall it was a nice experience. The ambience was good. But as we were a group of 12 the staff was not able to properly serve the food. They kept on missing items on our plates and we had to point it out everytime.
If you are looking for authentic bengali food in a corporate area like saltlake sector 5 then 6 Ballygunge place is the perfect destination for you guys. Located in the globsyn crystal building this place serves you with perfect bengali food and will definitely satisfy your tastebud. We ordered 1 mutton thali,1 chicken thali and 2 bhetki paturi. Our total bill amount was 1008/- as we paid from dineout app it costed us 826/-.
The amount as well as the quality was superb! The restaurant was clean and tidy. The food was hygienic and the service was quick. The avg wait time is 5 min from the time u order and till the time the food reaches u. The food was served hot which made the taste better. Without the fish and meat part all the veg items can be served unlimited times. The Rosogolla was spongy. Not too sweet. Just the way I like it. And the welcome drink was also nice!
PS: when ordering do order from the yellow menu card rather than the white 1 page menu to get same food at a less priceđ
We ordered mutton thali and chingrir malai Kari thali...rice and all other veg items were unlimited..got 2 mutton pieces..the chingri was also not bad in terms of taste...the items were not very spicy..over all good experience...
A perfect place to enjoy Bengali food. We had chosen buffet option which include egg devil, luchi, fine rice, dal, aloo bhaja, alor dum, bhetki paturi, green chicken, chatni, papad, misti, payesh
Thrle staff are really polite and friendly..
We went there for team lunch on the occasion of bengali new year. This place is located very close to webel more of sector 5, Salt Lake, Kolkata. This restaurant only serves thali or combos. We had a sumptuous bengali non vegetarian thali.
We were greeted with aam panna(a refreshing mango drink) follpwed by platter of delicious foods.
The fish fry had been remarkably good.
The desert was also great.
The staff had been courteous and helpful.
Overall we all had a nice experience.
I ordered one bhetki thali. The quality and quantity all are good enough. The veg item of the thali chachra was very good. The vetki pieces were bone less and item tastes good b. Stuff behavior are cordial. Quality, service, quantity , environment stuff behavior all are good but not awesome.
All the staffs and the location is also very good want you visit again. The food is good and the ambiance is good. You should go with your family and friends.
6 ballygunge place is well known for great Bengali cuisine.
Ordered luchi kosha mangso thali , Pulao mutton thali and nolen gur ice cream. They served gondhoraj ghol as a welcome drink which tasted good. Luchi mangso thali was great, but the Pulao thali disappointed us. Nolen gur ice cream was awesome.
All over experience was good, they serve very fast, staffs are very courtious, quality of food is really good.
We have ordered chicken thali
Begun bhaja,daal,potol r torkari,alur dom,luchi,plain rice,anaroser chutney,papad,misti,lassi
6 Ballygunge Place Thali is located inside the Globsyn Crystal building. It's a little hard to locate in the sprawling area surrounded by pubs, bars and restaurants. The food of course is terrific, especially if you're a fan of Bengali cuisine. The 'Thalis' are great value for money, as are the special 'Thalis' of the day. If you wish you could opt for ala carte options which present you with some interesting combos. From the standalone dishes 'Daab Chingri' is a must try, if it's available, as are the excellent 'Paturi' items. Their homemade 'Nolen Gur' ice cream is also exceptional. Even the mouth freshener accompanying the bill is different. The only drawback is the lack of a toilet, which forces you to venture out of the restaurant and, well let's just leave it at that.
6 Ballygunge Place, referred/recommended one of the best places for authentic Bengali Cuisine unanimously, and for really for some good reasons !!
Loved the Non-veg Thali; got all immersed and I do need to mention food was heavenly, beautiful blend of aroma and spices.
I have to acknowledge, the staff here, for they were the perfect ingredients to the making of the whole experience being very courteous and polite.
In nutshell, it was an admirable experience on quick go. Recommended !!
This place is inside the building of globsyn. Very nice ambience. Fully bangaliana vibe. Taste of food is very nice. They should improve their taste of veg recipes. We had veg thalis with bhetki prawn paturi and chitol macher muithya. Taste of these two dishes was very good.
Good food, nice behaviour of the staff's. Mutton was just splendid! Experience was good, if they can provide the buffet on Saturday & Sunday not only on Friday, it could be better for us
One of the best bengali continental restaurant and espically the best for it's Bengali Thali in Kolkata. It's always good to have some authentic bengali foods in this place with a perfect bengali culture, music and also a beautiful ambience!
Here, we've had Gandharaj Fried Chicken, Vetki Thali, Mutton Thali, Vetki Paturi & Pabda Jhal. All those dishes were really delicious and so good in quality as well as quantity and the it's prices really worth it!
So, all the bengali food lovers out there, I would recommend you to must visit here and can try all the bengali continentals. All are just fab!
We visited this place on a weekend and almost all tables were occupied. Ambience is simple but rich with the flavour of 'bangaliyana' in each corner. We ordered
1. 4 veg thalis - rice, 4 pcs luchi, mixed sobji, alurdom, poneer, muger dal, begun vaja, khejur amsottor chatni, pantua. Except the last two, all items were refillable. All items were good with perfect proportion of spices and oil.
2. Posto narkel bora - 2 pieces per plate. Very average to taste.
3. Mourola macher peyaji- crisp, onions and fishes separately coated and fried, tasty, goes well with the daal.
4. Daab chingri- 6 small pieces of shrimps in a creamy gravy. Comes inside the daab. Quality and quantity does not justify the price.
5. Kosha mangsho (mutton)- too good. Simply delicious.
6. Knacha lonka dhone pata murgi- again very delicious with a perfect gravy rich in aroma of green chillies .
7. Nolen gurer icecream- must try. Original flavour of nolen gur.
Staffs were friendly but less in number. Overall, a really good place to have a sumptuous delicious and original bengali meal at a reasonable price.Ratul Ghosh
Had an awesome experience. Been there on my birthday. And their food made the day really special. It's cheaper than the other restaurants who offer authentic Bengali food. And I won't comment about the taste of the foods. Just visit and taste yourself.
We ordered one mutton thali and one chingri malaicurry thali.
This was nt my 1st first visit. My family along with me we go there in many occasions. Personally i like the ambience very much n the ambience is vry polit. I order mutton thali cost âš355 exclusive of tax. It comprises of one welcome drink, luchi(4pic limited), bhaja of the day (1pic), unlimited ( 2veg dishes of th day, aloo dum, dal n rice), misti of the day(1pic), chutney, last bt nt least papad n main part kosha mutton(2pic). The food is vry much homely that's why i love this place so much n food is vry fresh n light. Any age people can hav food over here. The prices r very much reasonable. Anyone if want to have Bengali cuisine food must visit here. I will highly recommend this place.
This is not my first visit to 6 Ballygunge place thali. I had earlier been to their Kasba outlet. This time also I had an amazing experience. Here one can get good bengali food at affordable prices. This time tried their veg thali along with mutton kasa, pabda jhal and bhetki paturi... All the items were nicely cooked. I specially liked the pabda jhal... The staffs were courteous and the food was served on time without much delay...
wanna go for a Bengali cuisine,i would recommend this place for sure, ambience is good as it should be,i would recommend everyone to go for thali,it might be a bit high on the pocket,bt overall the taste was good and so was the quality,we got time for a short lunch from office, but were not disappointed, good place for a hangout and have us supper/lunch,would definitely have a bite again,d behaviour of the staff was good.....
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I especially enjoyed the special sweet and the sweet pineapple dish was great. Although chicken could be little spicy so that enjoy the dinner at best.
This place is very amazing.. And the thali was great.. I went there today.. And ordered chicken and mutton thali.. Thali was very good combo.. Reasonable price.. And the behavior of the stuff was very good.. But there special " Nalen gurer ice cream " Was not very good.. But the price was very high.. One scoop for 135 something.. Highly recommend it.. Must visit đ
If you are looking for THE BEESSSSSSSTTTT authentic bengali food then this is the place.... Had heard a lot about this restrau from everyone after visiting I realised why everybody was so fond of this... mutton kosha, luchi n not to forget their special fish cutlet which was the showstopper... good place, good food, good ambience n pocket friendly.. I highly recommend đđ
If you're bengali food lover this place is perfect for you. One of the famous and best restaurants in Kolkata. We tried basanti pulao, dhakai pora mutton, baked pantua, dab chingri. Service, hospitality and food quality is awesome.
6th Ballygaunj Place Thali is a good place for people searching for Bengali Cuisine. The food is good compared to it's price. The people, who prefer a bit sweetish dishes should have their food here. The staffs are caring and friendly. Ambience will fetch them 9/10. The cons I found out was, the food wasnt spicy :P.
6 Ballygunge Place Thali is known for authentic bengali cuisine among Kolkata. It has a wide range of A La Carte menu and also having varieties of thalis along with welcome drinks. They have a different section for the buffet. As the buffet cost Rs.470+tax. They serve lavish meals. As we ordered Chicken Thali for just Rs.295, Mutton Thali for just Rs.355. Also we have taken Daab Chingri (6pieces) which costs us Rs.370 and Fish fry Rs.155. The mutton thali was just awesome as the mutton pieces were soft and chewy. Chicken thali was also too good. As the Daab Chingri was very good in taste and mouthwatering. Just loved it. Fish fry was very satisfactory and crunchy too which was coated with bread crumbs. The place is quite good to have bengali cuisine and they plays bengali songs too while having good foods. The staffs was very polite and pleasant. The place is well decorated. Must have a visit for the amazing menus here.
The place was well good for families..The theme is of pure Bengali heritage, with lights and music ..... I tried the buffet which was well good. ... But honestly speaking it was clearly stated that a welcome drink would be served which was actually not.. The luchi was one of the finest of the lot... #musttry. The DOI chicken was average... And the hot gulab jamun was over sweet in the sugar syrup.. .
Rest everything including the Service was good enough for me to enjoy..

Heard a lot about this place finally was able to visit it. The ambience of the restaurant gives you a traditional feel. The place is popular for its authentic Bengali cuisine. We ordered steamed rice, katla macher jhol, murgir jhol, begun bhaja, cholar dal and cold drinks. Must say the food was amazing. If anyone wishes to taste authentic Bengali dishes it is one of the best place in town. In addition, the restaurant offers a number of thali and buffet offers that makes it more pocket friendly. The staffs are friendly and service is very speedy. One must visit this place in order to enjoy authentic delicacies. Highly recommended.
6 ballygaunge place has been known for its authentic bengali cuisine. The food are the real flavors of Bengal. They came up with this new concept of thali which is very unique and pocket friendly. You get to try many dishes. Compared to their buffet options are less but its wayy less expensive and amazing. We had ordered chicken and mutton thali for 295 and 355 resp. They also have fish, prawn and islish thalis. The one we ordered had:
Welcome drinks, which was gondhoraj ghol. So refreshing and a nice twist to the actual ghol. It has zest of gondhoraj lebu in the ghol that gives it a burst of flavor.
They served a basket of luchi with aalu r dom, aalu potol er torkari and mix vegetable.
Next was white rice with daal and crispy aalu bhaja.
The came in chicken or mutton kasha (2pieces).
At last was a basket of papad, chutney and a rajbhog.
The food tastes amazing. Also, most of the things of you like it you can ask for more, there aren't fixed portions of it except for few dishes, like the chicken/mutton, the sweet etc. The food wasn't spicy which i don't really preffer but overall such an amazing food experience.
The ambience of the place is really nice. It gives authentic vibes of bengal. I would totally recommend this place if you have an affinity towards bengali food.
Came here looking for some reprieve from monotonous food that I was fed up having daily and was not disappointed. The Thalis served have an authentic Bengali flavor and all the contents of the small bowls stand true to their taste. The loochi was soft and crisp. The mutton and the chicken served melt away in glory. The drink served was sweet lassi and that just made the meal look complete.
Will recommend all Bengali Food Lovers to give it a try!! You won't be disappointed too!!
Visited this outlet for the 1st time. Well I had too much expectation from this place. It tried it's best to keep up to its reputation. Opted for chicken thali with chitol macher muithhya. Every item was cooked perfectly. But somewhere i felt the actual essence of "bangaliyana" was a bit missing which I never felt in other outlets of this enterprise. Staffs were really polite and helpful.
Again, i have to confess that the quality compared to the price is fair justice. Overall it's a win-win.
A perfect place in the heart of kolkata for people with bong sentiments. Ordered a thali containing luchi, cholar daal, potoler dorma, alur dom, ghee bhaat, jhuri aloo vaja, alu posto, sukhto, fish fry, basa mach er jhol, kochi pathar mangsho was served. Ghondoraj ghol was served as a complimentary drink. Took dab chingri and bhetkir paturi from the ala carte. My taste buds had one of best feast in recent times.
A very well known food chain in Kolkata serving authentic and delicious bengali cuisine. Brightly lit and spacious.Value for Money in every sense except for the Nolen Gur Ice Cream part. Most attractive part of this place is the pocket friendly rates.
Bhetki Fish Fry - juicy and succulent fillet of bhetki deep fried with a coating of bread crumbs served with mustard sauce.
Kaju Kismis Pulao - Not bad but i am more fond of basanti pulao (the yellow coloured one)
Chicken Thali - Luchi, Rice, Sweet, Dal, Shukto and other veg curries. Very filling. If you are a bengali living outside west bengal, this will surely remind you of your home.
Mutton Kasha - Two pieces of mutton (well cooked, pretty soft) in a semi gravy curry. Goes well with rice or luchi.
Bhetki Paturi - Again a quintessential bengali dish. Boneless fish, marinated in mustard sauce, wrapped in banana leaf and baked. Droolworthy.
Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet) - Refreshing
Nolen Gur er Ice Cream - Amazing to taste. But 125 bucks for one small scoop!! Thats way too much. It pulls down the whole feel good moment.
Located at the heart of sector 5, this place is bound to attract quite a handful of office goers over lunch and dinner.
It's was a great experience, overall peaceful surroundings and well behaved staff. Supperfast service. Updated menu and combos are awesome. High quality food. Overall good food.

Wonderful place to get a tase of daily Bengali food.
We had Luchi and Mutton kosha with all time favourite Aloo bhaja!! It was totally worth every penny. Will recommend this place to each and everyone.
Located in Globsyn crystal , famous for their thali. We ordered Mutton thali and Dab Chingri
Mutton thali is basically Veg thali + Mutton
It consist of luchi , aloor dum , some veg dishes like aloo bhaja and one more veg item . There was a ghole ( welcome drink ). Rice was also there and 2 pieces of mutton . Mutton preparation was good . Dab Chingri was also tasty and very well cooked . But their main outlet 6 Ballygunge place , Ballygunge was way better in terms of quality . But here the price is bit on the lower side
Place- First floor of Globsyn Crystal(EP Block,Sector V)

Every item was quite outstanding and mouthwatering.
You will fall in love if you visit once.
Must try.
I will be visiting again and again to try other items.
Pros:
1) Food was good like we cook at home.
2) Service is very good and fast.
Cons:
1)The space is very small and congested.
2)Internet connectivity is very bad , I have to go outside to pay their bill. I suggest you to keep cash if you don't wanna face this problem.
3) So much noise, because of less space and people were talking very loudly.
4) Chicken kosha was rubbery and tastes bad.
Overall it's a good place to have your lunch. Its not very relaxing as compared to luxury restaurants but if you want home made food. It's a good place.
Ambience is like authentic Kolkata Style or u can say Bengali dining environment. They served the meal on full Pitol or Kasha Utensils which is so too conventional looking. The food taste is awesome with Bengali delicacy. The taste of Bhetki paturi, Dab Chingri, mutton kosha and Dhania murg was like heaven. They have a wide variant of Palau Dishes.
6 Ballygunge Place Thali offers the most affordable Bangali Thali option in Kolkata based on the quality and quantity of food.
Such great food and service at nominal prices is their unique selling point.
The fulko luchi with aloo dom tastes heavily. And so does the chutney!
I have been there quite a few times, they provide both veg and non veg options with decent variety in dishes covering almost all flavours.
Also unlike a few other places they never hesitate to refill your plate with whatever dish you ask for.
Highly recommended and appreciated place đ!
one of the best place for bangali style thali experience in city with reasonable price point, their service & hospitality is also nice. The restaurant comes with good indoor decoration , the only con is parking of your vehicle.
Went with family there.
The food was tasty and served hot.
The space inside is a bit little.
Tables are mainly 4 sitter. They will provide you extra chair but after all the utensils, there will be very little space available in the table.
Thea utensils were clean, made of white brass.
Perfect place for a family lunch together. Foods, served with great care and hospitality, are really delicious especially the Kosha Mangsho which goes perfectly with Luchi and Basmati rice. The staff are very polite. The price is reasonable if you compare it to food quality. Overall it was a very good experience for me.
It is an authentic Bengali cuisine. First visit service was good but second visit it was average. Staffs were excellent. Most of the items were very good in its taste except few like paneer, begun basanti were bit sweety. Quantity was also good as per its price. Specially all items in the thali were unlimited except non veg items.
Want to have great Bengali food? Then head here! You get 2 options; either go for the fixed buffet option which costs Rs. 850 per person. This buffet has the usual vegetable foods and 3 non-veg options (fish, chicken and mutton). If you opt to go for a vegetarian thali, then you get 3 additional veg items. The food is good but you will get some sweet flavour in some dishes.
The other option is to go for the alacarte menu. Select what you like.
Overall, good experience!!
This is a very nice place to plan your lunch.
I went there to give birthday treat to my colleagues.
We liked this place.
The taste is very nice.
Quantity is adequate.
The behaviour of the staff was very polite.
We took Chicken thali @330/- + gst for 12 people.
Some of us didn't like the taste of the welcome drink (ghol). I suggest the authority to improve the quality of the drink.
Otherwise, every food tastes very good and homelike. They don't put too much spice in foods which makes the food good for all people who don't like spicy food.
I would like to give them a 5 STAR for taste, quantity, service and environment.
If you want to try traditional Bengali Cuisine then this is the place to go. It was during Durga Puja when we visited this restaurant for dinner. Gotta admit that they deserve the credit and good ratings. Whether the food, ambience or the service, everything has been upto the mark.
Like food their ambience also depicts the Bengali culture. Wall Paintings and different photos of vintage Kolkata has been depicted here. Staffs are very professional in their approach and service is way better.
Now about the food. We had Bengali thali which consisted of Masoor dal, aloo dum, dokar dalna, ghant, prawn curry, mutton kassa/chicken curry, bhekti fish, Puris, steamed rice, pulao, rasgolla, misti doi, papad, chass, sweet dates pickle and sweet paan to end your meal. Bhekti fish was unique in taste. Its taste was like a smoked fish which has been wrapped around a banana leaf. But I liked the combination of pulao and mutton kassa. The combined taste of sweetness and spiciness was the show stopper for me. Mutton pieces were soft and tender. Everything was damn delicious.
Overall I am gonna say that this was an awesome dine-in experience for me.
Food was not too spicy but what we can say typical Bengali home food it was somewhat like that. The prices are reasonable as well. We took chicken thali and the price was 320. There were several items some were unlimited.. the service they gave was mind blowing. Too homely nature they've got
Reasonable price tag for Bengali food thalis... Behaviour of staffs are really good.. atmosphere also good for lunch or dinner..we ordered chicken thali + mutton thali + vetki paturi and combining all of them costs 977 rupees so i can say pricing is reasonable.
If you want to eat Bengali thali at a reasonable price, then this is a good option for you.
We have ordered one mutton thali and one combo meal i.e. polao with mangsho and raita.
Ambiance service all are very good. Food is also good but in mutton thali mutton was not up to mark.
Food is good with serviceđ....The ambiance is not so good as expected. Need to decorate nicely.
The staff are very friendly and the food is very tasty. But I suggest a little change in the dishes will be good. Somebody going for 2-3 days continuously might want some changes in food items in the thali. However, everyday there is 1 or 2 new additions
Very nice place to have an authentic bengali food in kolkata salt lake, sector v. The food is very tasty and the staff are very friendly. Don't avaid with the ambiance go for food non-veg tali.... mutton đ¤¤đ¤¤is too tasty
We made a great choice for having lunch at 6 Ballygunge place thali.
We ordered : Basic veg thali, chitol macher muitha, sorse bhapa illish
All of these dishes were freshly cooked, very tasty and the portion size was too good.
The sabji dishes and dal, along with luchi was unlimited.
The ambience was nice and the service was top notch
I highly recommend this restaurant!
Pocket pinch : around 2000 INR for 3.
