I visited this place many times to try their authentic and famous fish kabiraji and they never disappointed me .

Fish kobiragi is best here. It is so yummy. But I also love the chicken tandoori. The service was also nice
Nice fat fillet of bhetki in the fry which was juicy and very tasty, fish fingers were also equally juicy and fish was fresh.. no complaint. Only setback was the mutton cutlet where the mutton mince was gamey and I quite did not like it. A small joint where seating capacity is very less and crowded but the rating goes definitely fir the food served here. Cheers!!

This food joint offers amazing snacks. Located in one of the most prominent places of Kolkata, Shyambazar, the place has become iconic for its amazing fish fries, fish rolls and kabirajis. Its a very old shop with limited seating area. However, they never compromise on their quality and freshness. They also serve a wide range of other items, starting from chicken rolls to Chinese. Highly recommended for everyone.
One of the well known outlet in kolkata. It is situated in shyam bazar. Menu is limited. I ordered "Fish Finger" which was priced @199/- for 6 pieces. The taste was very authentic and flavourful. I was totally satisfied with it. Talking about their pricing, i felt it on a higher side . However, i definitely recommend this outlet.

One of the oldest places in Kolkata. They have been famous for over a century now for the delicacies they serve in reasonable price. The most famous and most mouthwatering is their Fish Kabiraji. It is the best I've ever tried. This place is highly recommended for their homely atmosphere and delicious food.
Mitra cafe is a famous food joint/cabin in kolkata. They have 8 outlets in kolkata. Few days ago i have tried some of the snacks.they are so delicious and so crunchy. Love the taste. But it's a bit oily.
Ordered a diamond kabiraji... Taste was really good.. recommended snacks parlour for everyone.. only problem is the seating arrangement the ceiling space is too small not suitable for even a 5feet8inch guy

Very small, cute and Pocket friendly restaurant located near shyam Bazar more. This is the first time when I have visited this restaurant. The ambience is very unique ( quite small ). If you are taller than 5.3 feet then I think it will be a little issue for you to stand straight.
Now let's talk about the food. This is the first time I have tried their diamond fish fry and I really liked it. It was crispy and crunchy. But what I didn't like was their prawn cutlet. It wasn't that good even the prawns were not that tasty. I highly recommed the diamond fish fry rather than the prawn cutlet.
This place is quite pocket-friendly so if you are a college student you can definitely visit this place. Recommended 👍😍😍

Small place!! Sitting arrangement is for 12 people hardly! But food is mind blowing!! Mutton kasha is a must try and fish fry also!! Behaviour is ❤️❤️ . Basically this is the charm of old places , in bengali we call it appayan ❤️❤️ " আপ্যায়ন" !! Please do visit this place 🙏

Mitra cafe is one of the heritage restaurant of kolkata. There won't be a single word regarding the quality of the food. All fish items of the cafe are excellent specially the fish kabiraji. The taste is mouth watering. And the price is budget friendly.
This place is great to have your evening snacks. We ordered fish fry and fish fingers which were really tasty justifying the age old traditional quality of food they have been serving for which they are so well known.

Traditional and Tasty
Mitra Cafe has maintained its traditional touch and flavour for the last 100 years. The taste lingers in the mouth long after one has finished eating. Must try the Diamond Fry, Fish Kabiraji, Brain Chop ( which gets finished in a jiffy) and other fish delicacies.
Had to try their famous chicken kabiraji nad tbh, loved it! We also tried their devil.. it was delicious too..
Though the outlet is small, you can't judge their taste based on the appearance.
Most famous place in Kolkata.....everyone know the name of course. I have tried Fish Fry with my friends group. Store provided cucumber and onion salad and kasundi. Fish fry is very nicely coocked. They used very fresh fish for that. The outside coating is very light and every bite is melting on my mouth. There no bad smell on fish. Price is slightly high. Overall good as a evening snacks.
Whenever I visit North Kolkata, I try to visit this place. I love their Chicken Kabiraji, Fish Kabiraji, Chicken Cutlets. They are one of the best cafes in town. However the seating is a bit cramped.

The prices have never increased from its opening to promote cheap breakfast for all. The mouthwatering crunchy Fish Fries and Kabirajis are the best out of here .Moreover the Mutton brain cutlet is their signature dish with a huge tan following. Their is a small sitting area though most the people love to take aways.

One of the best cafes in town. Located on the shayambazar opposite side of metro, with an indoor seating too, I had ordered for:1.fish kabiraji Served with salad and kasundi. The dish was makes originality for Indian starter taste. 2. Fish fry. The staff behaviour is very good and polite.

This place doesn't wait to be said.. One of the heritages of the City of Joy.. I tried FISH SPECIAL DIAMOND FRY, MUTTON CHOP & MUTTON KOSA.. The FISH SPECIAL DIAMOND FRY was very crispy, the MUTTON CHOP was also delicious..The MUTTON KOSA tasted average to me.. May be it's not but taste varies person to person.. Over all, it's good,, one should give a try..

Love mutton chops and vegetable chops at this outlet of Mitra Cafe, recent experience is not satisfactory. Mutton chops are not that tasteful anymore. Its a famous chain for cutlet, chops, kobirajis , brain chop and stew. Its an emotion and religion for foodies in Kolkata and outskirts. I have got enormous love for the entire chain.
This place is located near Shymbazar metro station.
The sitting area is small..but foods are delicious. The best things you can get here is Chicken Kobiraji, fish kobiraji, fish fry. Pocket friendly and hygienic food.
Good quality and quantity.
So far have tried their chicken curry with roti, chicken kabiraji, egg chicken moglai, egg rolls, double egg rolls, chicken roll. Rolls are bang for buck for sure.

One of my most favourite places in Shyam Bazar. Its popular for the delicious snacks amd tit bits. I have kept on visiting it from my childhood days. Their popularity has just increased over the years. Its one of the legendary outlets in the city of Joy.
Small outlet ... famous for their kabiraji,roll,cutlet etc..fish roll and prawn cutlet is a must try one..if anyone have the roll there, then it served with boiled potatoes, sauce, salad ..but not in delivery..
Cafe though small provides great food .we had fish butter fry and chicken kabiraji .they both came at prices of 120 .they were amazing to taste

I believe this one is the oldest outlet among the others.. Just a few steps ahead of Shyambazar Metro Station. Still they redesigned a portion and put ACs. Coming to the food, went for a quick snack. Ordered their famous fish kabiraji, chicken kabiraji and mutton afgani. Awesome taste, served quick and served hot. Would like to try their other dishes.
Mitra Cafe, just 2 mins. walk from Shyambazar Metro Gate 1 is a cosy eatery joint which serves authentic fried items. The food joint is more than 100 years and by far the crowd favourite for quick fried cravings. The food is amazing, and the fish fry is yet favourite for many.

Kabiraji is one of the best food, but it should only be taken if you have good digestive system , if not please go for butter fry/ chicken cutlets/ fish fingers ctc...
Quality is still maintained but it's nothing that others can't bet them in taste....
Old school place to devour oneself into classic moghlai dishes....the pocket pinch and the quantity is right on mark and has many branches all over Kolkata.....

A small place & has two sections..on the top floor they provide seats for 18 people(air-conditioned)...on the ground floor not more than 4 people..
Now the food...overall quite ok.. quality & quantity is fair enough..
In frame : Chicken Kabiraji - it is more than sufficient for one people..it tastes really good. It's the famous dish of this place would like to recommend.
Who does not love mitra cafe..this cafe is 110 years old...although the ambiance is not good..but the quality i think i don't have to say anything about..mitra cafe is a emotion for north kolkatian ..location is very easy to locate near manindra clj...

The name itself is a review. They will give the glimpses of Bengali lifestyle in Kolkata in pre independence era. The place looks vintage (not old). They r famous for their Fish Kobiraji but believe me their mutton items r far more better than that. Everyone must try the Mutton Afghani n Mutton cutlet
Kolkata's one of the finest place for kabiraji, fish fry and much more, is located opposite to shymbajar metro. We went there yesterday for a quick bite, but unfortunately both kabiraji and butter fry was sold out as it was 8:30pm. Then we ordered for fish fingers, lachcha parathas and chicken kassa. The fish fingers and kassa were excellent but the chicken kasa was little bit oily. Otherwise the food quality and quantity were superb. The staffs were also good. They have a take away counter and the sitting arrangement was done in a small place on the mezzanine floor. So, don't expect decor and ambiance, moreover if you are not lucky, you have to share your table, because there are only 3 tables.

Ambiance is so old bt sitting area is air conditioned!!!! They are famous for their kobiraji and cutlet, must try this items. But just one problem, serving stuffs behave rudly

We went to the Mitra Cafe Shyam bazar branch. I didn't expect the cafe to be this small! Only nine people can sit there at a time since there is a table for four, a table for two and a table for three. So we had to wait for like 10 minutes. We had fish fingers and fish fries. Food was good, albeit high priced. Serving was quick. Staffs are also very polite. Because of the shortage of space, this branch is more suitable for takeout than dine in.
Very small restaurant . Sitting capacity is available for approx 7-8 people at a time . Fish items are good . Service is good . But prawn cutlet is quite disappointing . Restaurant is well decorate and maintained , but there is no washroom into the restaurant . My overall experience was good .
Very small but very beautifully organised and decorated place. Good ambience. Sitting arrangement for maximum 9-10 people at a time inside. Also sitting available outside. Disposable plates and cutlery are used. Pricing is a little high compared to quality. But taste is very good.

This one my 2 nd time visiting review at Mitra cafe (Ahiritola)). We ordered chiken fry (breast) portion.. Was good and crispy , filling with juicy chiken piece.
Also oredered a plate of Gondhoraj Pokora. And a choco desert.. Which taste was so good.
The experience was good. The taste and quantity of food is too good. It is better for delivery than the dine in because the cafe was less specious
It's a small joint, (currently it has gone 20 steps ahead of the original place as construction is going on) famous for its diamond kabiraji.. one can try their other items too.
I had tried Mutton Afghani & Egg moglai+Mutton kasha. Coming to the taste they both are decent. Mutton Afghani is kind of kabiraji except you don't get the fluffy egg wash instead it served with gravy.
