Went here for anniversary lunch. Good service. The food was also great. Chelo kebabs and mutton hanglabari won our hearts. Other dishes were also tasty. We enjoyed our visit and will visit again.

Came here on Sunday 6th sept,2020 with my family and my friend's family total 5 people,ordered mutton bhuna kebab,chicken biriyani,mutton biriyani,chicken chap,chicken pasanda and butter nan,the kebab was served pretty fast then we have to wait almost 45 minutes for the biriyani and the rest of the item but actually it was worth the wait every item the served was piping hot,the biriyani was so hot,you can't even touch that. we loved each and every food they served the quantity was exceptional compared to the price and what other restaurants serves I could not eat the whole plate of chicken biriyani. But there was one problem actually the problem is with myself,the rice of the biriyani was actually not farm enough for me,I like kind of soft rice but rice was not soft enough for me but except me other 4 people didn't complain about that and I think they need to hire more service personnel as there was only two person,one at the counter and other one,himself alone was taking orders and serving food
This was one of our pre-covid visits to a restaurant. Oh, how we miss those days. We went to the well-known Hanglaatherium Lake Gardens near South City. You will easily identify the place from its red theme - the place wears this colour extensively from outside and in. We ordered Chelo Kebab and their Biryani combo. The Chelo Kebab was good in terms of both quality and quantity. Now please don't start comparing it with Peter Cat's. That's on another level altogether. But this one was quite good, if not as good as Peter Cat's.
The sheekh kebab in the Chelo platter was a little dry, but other elements were pretty fine.
The biryani combo as far as quantity is concerned is pretty good for one person. So don't even think of sharing. The meat was succulent and juicy. Just how it should be in a biryani. The chicken kosha was your everyday stuff. Nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a good experience.

I had their Chaap combo couple of few times... And last time I order for the same... Quality wise it's exotic... The biryani is flavourful with Perfectly cooked potato and Chicken in it... The Chaap is full of flavours too and at the same time it was light on the stomach... Pocket pinch is quite reasonable... But they can improve their packaging a little I think...

Subtle flavours, mouthwatering yet non-overpowering aroma and big, tender pieces of mutton, it ticks all the boxes for the perfect Kolkata style mutton biryani. I've already ordered 6-7 times, in the span of last 3 month and this has definitely become my second most favourite place for mutton biryani ( the first place is obviously dedicated to Shiraz).
PS. I like my biryani less spicy and less aromatic, so I usually don't prefer quite a few of the popular brands in the city.
The only con was that the delivery was late all the three times. Took almost 1.5hrs everytime for the delivery person to just pickup the order.

Now coming to the dish I ordered:
Big Mutton Biryani: I just love this item. 3 big pieces of mutton with 2 potato & 2 eggs. Rice quantity is sufficient for 3 people. Every time I ordered this item only.
Mutton chaap: The mutton pieces were quite soft. But this is not the chaap we quite expect in kolkata to go with the Biryani. It was lacking a bit of flavour.
Mutton Hanglabari: I just love this item. Big pieces of mutton cooked in rich, moderately spicy gravy. It doesn't go well the Biryani. It's better to have with naan or roti. Now a small problem which I faced with this item, that the mutton was not that tender. Might be because we ordered as soon as the restaurant opened.
Dilli 6 Butter chicken: The dish I ordered every time along with their Biryani. It resembles the famous the Aslam Bhai ka butter chicken. Tandoori chicken just tossed in butter, cream,mint coriander chutney & some spices(may be chat masala). It tastes just awesome.( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Good food and proportion. Try to maintain this. Price is a little bit high but according to food quality it's OK.
The best mutton biryani I had for a long meet. The juicy and succulent large meat portions and the flavourful potato melting in mouth was just heavenly.
And then there was mutton Hanglabari. Yes, I would crave for more and more of it. It was magically yummy.

I have visited this restaurant Hanglaatherium, Prince Anwar Shah Road for the 1st time ever at around 6:55pm. It was a great experience and the staff's were friendly as well. And the ambience was very cool and relaxed atmosphere as well with their food items as well. There I have ordered 1 Plate Chicken Bharta (Half) for Rs. 210/- 1 Plate Kashmiri Aloo Dum (Full) for Rs. 135/- 1 Naan For Rs. 50/- and 1 Garlic Naan For Rs. 70/- subtotal Rs. 465/- with CGST AND SGST TAXES On Rs. 465/- 12.50/- Grand Total was Rs. 490/- and at last had a cold drink sprite For Rs. 30/- so I paid it in cash Rs. 520/- đ¤¤đ. Mutton hanglabari is one of the most favourite dishes here! Love their biryani as well... So flavourful yet so light on spices and oil! Their naan and Parathas are great as well!
Had many memorable experience with hanglatherium. But this time it was different as ordered biryani first time after lockdown and family members were apprehensive. But It was a joy to find out the cleanliness and sanitization process followed by the delivery guys of hanglatherium. For the food yes we ordered big chicken and mutton biryani and they are out of the world. Hanglatherium is always the best.
We visited the outlet opposite South City Mall. We ordered Biryani combo and Mutton, it was alright. No complaints with the taste and the price.
But the diner is very cramped. And there was a crowd waiting outside, on weekends it might take an hour to get a table inside. And if you got the table in the passage, you won't have any privacy. It would be better to order takeaway. Visit only for the food, and visit with friends. Parents and Spouses might get grumpy, rightly so. But the food is definitely good.

I ordered a kebab platter and a biryani combo (mutton/chicken biryani of your price, chicken pasanda, raita and salad). The combo be easily shared by two heads. Chicken pasanda tasted more like a chicken rezala but tasted really good. Their biryani tasted so light and yet delicious.
The kebab platter was good too but could be better in terms of variations of taste. Will surely come back to this place to try something more from their menu.

Located near South City, this is a small place. I loved their Chicken Reshmi Kebab. Absolutely soft and melted inside the mouth. Highly recommended.
But the mutton biriyani was a big disappointment. Mutton was not at all soft. The biriyani was too light and the flavour and aroma of biriyani was missing.

I've tried their Delhi 6 chicken which is absolutely amazing, its actually chicken tandoori tossed in green butter. Must try đ¯ and they surely serves one of the best chicken biriani in Kolkata ⤠I must mention that their firni is soft melt in mouth delicasy and sweetness is balanced rightly.

This place is pretty cool. Ordered chicken and mutton biriyani from here few days back. First, the prices are same for both of the biriyanis and it taste awesome. In terms of price and the quantity along with the quality its total value for money . My recommendation for this place is 8/10.

This place is quite pocket friendly..! one of the best combos i have ever had. I ordered the pasanda combo thats includes chicken/mutton biriyani ,chicken pasanda,salad,coke. chiken pasanda was basically shredded chicken cooked in pasanda style,white gravy,biriyani quality and quality was quite good and also Tastes good. I also ordered their polau mutton combo that includes mutton kosha two piece,basanti polau ,two piece chicken kabab ,raita and salad! basani polau was perfectly cooked beautifully complimenting the spicy mutton kosha. The pieces were not so good as i expected still it was soft. The kabas were good as well. The ambiance is good.Nice pocket friendly place to hangout with your friends ,family and loved ones.

This was my first visit today. I got very normal review from people whom I asked before but today I again realised that we should not take a call on anything before judging ourselves. Being a biriyani lover and after having biriyani from almost all top biriyani outlets including Shiraj, Zeeshan, Aminia, Haji Saheb, Naushijaan, Oudh 1590, Lucknow (not operating now), India (Khidirpur), Dada boudi (Barrackpore) etc, I must say that this is another 'The Best'. The recommended mutton biriyani, mutton hanglabari (side dish) and both were so well tasted. The ambience, behaviour of the staffs, prices all were perfect. Will love to visit again.

Always loved their special chicken biriyani. Also the combo is very tasty and afffordable too. I tried the Chicken Dilly 6 which is their speciality. It was very good. The staff were courteous and also suggested some chicken side dishes. This is also my go to delivery joint for when I am craving biriyani.
I ordered Chicken Biriyani from Zomato. I think its the best. Good taste amd quality. I really hope they keep up the quality. You must try.
Probably the best and authentic Kolkata style biriyani is found here with a proper balance of whole garammasala over the light cooked rice with the real aroma as Kolkata biriyani is all about aroma and proper Spice coated chicken not just a boiled one.I have toured Lucknow and finds the similarity of awadhi biriyani more on other food houses in Kolkata but in reality this was the best Kolkata style biriyani I tasted....
A must visit place with friends as its pocket friendly and provides a nice ambience as an addda house.... đ

It's totally a hidden gem which has been in my bucket list for a long time. Yesterday I went for lunch and ordered Special Kabab Platter, Big Mutton Biriyani, Chicken Handi, Non-veg Kulcha and Firni. Biriyani was just lip smacking with soft tender pieces of Muttons. Chicken and Kulcha were also very tasty. I recommend it as a must visit place. Just go and try once, you will love it surely.
Heard a lot about this place and really we can't miss it if we are a biryani lover.

I am so glad that I finally visited this place after watching the Foodka recommendation video for best biryanis in Kolkata on youtube. The mutton biryani here is indeed one of the best I've tasted, the rice being just the right amount of fragrant and the aloo is soft and melts in your mouth right away, mutton was well cooked. We ordered the big biryani mutton, sufficient for two and comes with three pieces of mutton. Also the staff here are really nice and friendly and ambience is warm. Highly recommended if you love exploring biryani places in and around the city!
Pleasant ambience not so much crowd. food quality also perfect.and quantity u can see in picture. But it's only for small group of friends. "small family happy family" damn sure u'll be in love with it's wall paintings.
The taste of the firni could have been better. But the mutton biriyani tastes amazing. It is one of the best in Kolkata.

From the starters my pick will be the chicken reshmi kebab as it was juicy, tender and perfectly balanced with flavours. For the fish tikka I felt there was a lack of flavours although the fish provided was fresh, and dilli6 was simple chicken tandoori pieces tossed in a butter based gravy with coriander. For the main course we ordered chicken & fish Biryani as mutton Biryani was not available and mutton hanglaabari which is mutton cooked in a mild spicy gravy.
Chicken Biryani & mutton hanglaabari was the perfect duo. But the fish biryani was very disappointing it tasted very bland and lastly I find the firni average.

Yesterday I ordered chicken biriyani & firni. First restaurant to introduce Biriyani combo in kolkata.It's located at 2-3 mins walking distance from South city. Belive me or not, this place serves one of the best biriyani in town. And, Dilli-6 is their signature dish and indeed a show stealer.

Some years back I started this rule for myself. One day in each month I would go out for a solo lunch and Hanglaatherium was the first restaurant in this category. The place offers good North Indian and Mughlai food. The biryani is simply delicious.Â
If you are a kebab lover this place is for you. To add to their biryani they offer a special mutton dish named, Mutton Hanglabari. You have to try this one. It's worth every penny. The ambience is good. The staff is very kind and helpful. In case you are looking for a new biryani center, Hanglaatherium is waiting for you.

Visited the place on 22nd October'23 (Saturday) for dinner on the occasion of durga puja saptamiđ. Ordered special mutton Biryani @âš490 and Mutton Hanglaabari H*(5pic) @ âš360. Biryani was pretty average but I liked the flavour of Mutton Hanglaabari H*. It was tasty and flavourful. Also had a conversation with the owner, he is very friendly and treating every customer with courtesy even though the restaurant was crowded and many people were waiting in queue. Overall the experience was good.

Have ordered food (mutton biryani with chicken pasanda combo) from the restaurant through zomato previously (from the garia branch) and was provided with really delicious food quality, well balanced spices flavourful biryani even the mutton and potato was tender and melt in mouth and was blended with the right amount of spices and salt. The chicken pasanda was also so good last time.(in December 2022)
But sadly ordered food (delhi 6,cheesy chicken tandoori and two mutton biryani with mutton pasanda combo) for takeaway day before yesterday (7th January 2023) and was so sad with the food quality this time (from the Prince Anwar Shah branch) , the biryani was totally dry and bland,it lacked good amount of salt and spices, the mutton was tough and dry, the mutton pasanda was smelly. Loved the Delhi 6 and the cheesy chicken tandoori was also really good only the extra pieces of green chillies were too spicy for my taste but otherwise it was pretty good.
Hoping to get better food next time.

Visited for dine in. This time I was blown away and surprised with the food taste in such a good way. Ordered 1 plate Chicken Reshmi Kebab, 1 plate Special Mutton Biryani, Half Plate Mutton Kosha and 1 plate Green salad. The tender quality of mutton, the succulent creamy chicken kebabs and the mind blowing flavours were all amped up to such great heights this time. Can't wait to visit again.
The place of amazing tasted Biriyani especially with soft tender mutton pieces uniquely prepared, which can hardly be found in other places. Many of the items are so tasty at a very reasonable price.
Tried their 499 unlimited buffet. Nice decorations on the wall, but the sitting spaces are quite cramped. Previously tried biryani and Dilli 6 taste was very good.
Now coming to the buffet biryani and the veg starters and main courses were tasty. Lassi as welcome drink was refreshing as well. Among the non veg starters chicken pakoda coating was very thick. And chicken kebabs were very salty. Chicken Qorma in the main course was lacking of any taste at all. In desert gulab jamun was too cold for my liking.
Separately we tried fresh lime soda, which was good.
Service was promt.

We didn't know that only one week days their biryani buffet gets served from 1pm-4 pm. Apart from that the staff behaviour was good and the food was pretty delicious. The hospitality they showed to us was pretty impressive.
It was a great experience in Hanglaatherium, the ambience and the behaviour of the staff was good. Coming to the quality of the food, the pulao and specially the mutton kosha was too good, it was beyond my expectations. I really enjoyed the food and it will be my pleasure to recommend Hanglaatherium to my friends.
Heard a lot of good review about this place.... But my experience was not that fair enough... The usual spiciness of biriyani was quite flat... The quality doesnot justify the price.... Tried the weekday buffet here. It's really good with a welcome drink(lassi), two veg starters- veg pakoda & paneer kabab, two non veg starters - chicken pakoda & chicken kabab. In the main course there was chicken biryani, chicken kasha, alur dam, steamed rice and dal fry.The biryani was best among all the items without being much oily and chicken was juicy.Gulab jamun and rabri in the dessert section. Price is also reasonable 524 including tax. So if you are a biryani lover you must visit here in the weekdays to try unlimited biryani.

A good place to eat, however the ambience is not top notch, tables are shorter and not at all comfortable. If you take a table for two, thats way too shorter than expectation. Very clumsy atmosphere.
Pros.
1st Pro of the place is the Combo options. They are lot. You still can afford good foods/combos at a reasonable price. Moreover the taste of the foods are also good (not the best but yes good enough). If you like less spicy Biryani, then this place is for you.

Tried their biriyani buffet today and for just 499/- probably the best buffet in town. 4types of starters, 6 main course items, and two dessert items. Every single item on that menu was delicious, absolutely delicious from starters to desserts, I cannot pin out one item that was not good or okaish ... everything was just perfect and delicious.
Total cost is 499+gst which is 524 per person. Non shareable.
Timings - Monday to Thursday 12pm to 4pm. Available only at Hanglaatherium Lake Gardens branch.
