Rasam's menu features signature dishes from the southern states of India. We tried Dahi Vada, South Indian Lassi (buttermilk), and Butter Sada Dosa. The tempering on the dahi vada consisted of authentic southern flavours with the curd beaten up to just the right creamy consistency. The butter sada dosa was light, airy, and soft -- quite unlike the crisp versions available elsewhere. Personally, I would have liked the butter to shine through a bit more. The accompanying sambar and coconut chutney were top-notch too. We enjoyed the buttermilk very much as it was steeped in green chillies minus the heat, lending a unique flavour to the drink. The decor was simple and clean, with brass bells and wooden Kathakali masks on the walls. Carnatic music playing softly in the restaurant was a bonus. Had no idea that The Stadel offered such a pocket-friendly vegetarian dining option. We will definitely come back for more.

The best South Indian restaurant at Kolkata. It is really nice taste. I had Onion Rava Dosa, Rasam and Kesaria tea. Rasam was top notch authentic like they make in my village - they actually add real saffron in the kesaria tea which is a nice touch. One can really appreciate the quality and the attention to details in the making of the south Indian food. So glad I chose to dine in here. I will come again when I visit Kolkata again.

This place is the only name that comes to my mind when I am craving for authentic South-Indian meal. My personal favourite is the Sambar Vada and Plain Butter Dosa. And the oh-so-good filter coffee is a must after a sumptuous meal. Prompt service, polite and helpful staff and absolute cleanliness is their bonus point.

Very good food, of course South Indian dishes, and with a comfortable ambience in Salt Lake, on Broadway.

Affordable and well located restro which has good south Indian dishes. The idlys are soft and fresh. Dosa is not quite up to the mark but you can't really expect much better in Kolkata. A lot of the items on their menu are unavailable, so if you're looking for something specific, make sure to check ahead. The ambience inside is decent, with light carnatic music playing.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Rasam! The South Indian meal was outstanding, and the Dosas were a highlight - perfectly crispy and delicious. However, the star of the show was the Guava Kulfi, a dessert that left a lasting impression. The service was impeccable, and the credit goes to Angela and Nizam who did an excellent job throughout our meal. I highly recommend Rasam for a delightful culinary experience. I'll definitely be coming back for more .

A good place for south Indian food. Spacious and comfortable seating arrangement. Good for family outing. Staff are friendly and helpful. They wear sarong (traditional dress of south India) and serve every item on banana leaf , which gives a pleasant vibe. Food are good in taste. We ordered: 1. Cheese onion uttapam (5/5) 2. Crispy fried idli (5/5) 3. Cheese rava masala dosa (5/5) Overall they gave us no chance to complain about anything.

I have been visiting Rasam since 4 years now and I can say their quality is constantly excellent! The best South Indian restaurant in Kolkata. Just one drawback, the price is on a slightly higher side.

Rasam, a South indian restaurant inside of "The cadastral" salt lake. Rasam is usually visited by foreigners and many indians. Prices are moderate to high but they prepare good recipes. Service is good and behaviour of people out there are also good. Do visit once.

Located inside The Stadel, it's a good place to have great dosas and idli. And their South Indian coffee is good too.

Food is very tasty. Clean and nicely decorated. Only thing they are not following covid protocol properly. Customers are entering without mask. The sanitization machine outside the shop was not working
