It was my first visit there after this pandemic. They follow all the safety precautions. They provide us disposable plates, spoon, fork. We ordered chicken spring rolls, Hakka Noodles and garlic chicken. Food quality as usual well maintained nothing to say about it. They are in this industry for so many years they know how to satisfied a guest.
Chowman has earned it's popularity for serving chinese cuisine consistently as much authentic as possible for years.I like their food quality and their endeavor to maintain reliability to food-lovers.
I Have tried so many delicacies that it's not possible to write a reveiw on every dish.But most of them was of authentic taste and delicious.Though some like CHAR SUI LAMB or CONJEE CRISPY LAMB or MEIFOON was not upto the mark.They either lacked perfection in cooking or portion size.

Ok. I like Chinese food and I cannot lie.
N Chowman doesn't disappoint, I cannot deny.
Why?
Coz firstly, it's a quaint dim-lit restaurant with a nice ambience.
But when it comes to food, it's great.
We had lobsters for starters. They are super-awesome.
The fish was a bit of a dampener though. Since it was bland and tasted more of the batter.
This we followed by Chowman special fried riced (non veg mixed rice) which were humongous in quantity.
Overall, chowman is a lethal combination of value for money price, awesome food and pretty good service to go with.
Bonus point: they also provide chopsticks, which I opted for, just to bask in the glory of that authentic feel.
Food Quality is amazing. Hygiene is really good.
Sitting arrangement is well planned and the restaurant gives an ambience which is a fusion of modern and Chinese ethnicity.

First visit to this place post lockdown. This place has the same delicious fresh food like always with good quality control. They're serving in disposable plates and cutlery but they are not the flimsy ones like others. There's sanitizer available and ordering at the table is via a call. A fresh experience of one of the best Chinese in city in pandemic with good precautions. They do charge Rs.25 per person for safety measures (and not 25% over the bill, as a spokesperson first confused) which is justified. Large groups aren't allowed. There's a table for 2 and a table for 4.
If you're looking for lip-smacking Chinese to do away with the quarrantine blues, pay a visit. (:

The gastronomical journey that came to a standstill since March finally began with a trip down to Chowman, Ballygunge place. The measures adopted by them keeping in mind of the virus is just worth every detailing. The valet standing outside will explain you the details of measures adopted and let you go through a brochure explaining the same. The shoes will be sanitized and they have a foot pressed sanitizer stand for sanitization and then the customary temperature check with thermal gun. Once you are inside, the steward will guide you to your table and the arrangement has been made keeping in mind the distancing norms. Sealed disposable cutlery was served and all rendering service were having face shields, gloves and mask. Disposable menu was there on the table and you can order through QR also. Food was served hot and tasty and there also distancing norms were thoroughly maintained. The restaurant is charging Rs.25 over and above your bill towards sanitization charges. (We were two) which may go up with no of heads. The quality of disposable cutlery was pretty high. Overall thouroughly impressed with the quality of service and indeed a confidence booster.

A few days back I visited their Ballygaunge outlet to try their oriental Duck festival which was started from 15th dec and will be continued upto 14th January. This season is perfect for some delicious dick dishes . We started our meal with some
DUCK MEAT NOODLES SOUP (Rs - 250) :- The soup was fantastic , it is a perfect dish to start off your meal. The soup contains shredded veggies( carrot, cabbage, mustard plant, button mushroom), rice noodles, shredded duck meat and some special spices to give it a unique taste.
AROMATIC ROASTED ASIAN DUCK (Rs -- 690) ::-- This special starter made with asian duck was fabulous, it contained diced veggies ( three bell pepper, pak choi, broccoli, zucchini green , button mushroom, carrot), celery, seasoning, butter, wine, five spice powder and was garnished with spring onion.
HOT PEPPER ROASTED DUCK ( Rs - 675) --
This spicy yet delicious starter was mind blowing. It was made with diced veggies ( Onion, green and red capsicum), celery, seasoning , with different types of sauces ( tomato, oyster , dark soya). At last the food was garnished with wine, vinegar ans spring Onion.
DUCK MEAT & EGG RICE - (Rs--25O)
It's basically high quality rice with shredded duck meat and various spices.
CHILLI PLUM ROASTED DUCK (Rs -765)--
It went great with the fried rice, it included some diced veggies, different types of sauce mainly dark soya, tomato, plum sauce and garnihsed with spring onion and chili flakes.
It was little bit sweet and spicy yet a fabulous one.
Lastly we ended our meal with Toffee walnut with icecream , it was indeed a superb dessert. The combination of walnut with ice cream was too good.
Overall had a wonderful experience over there. The ambiance was really amazing. The service was fantastic. Totally satisfied with their hospitality. Great food with great ambiance. If you are a foodie and want to try something different in this winter then this is the place you should be and taste their oriental duck festival special menu.

About this particular outlet it need to mention that the place is small... But extremely well decorated... And I want to mention Mr. Kaushik... People from the hospitality industry need to learn how to welcome your guests and provide a top notch service... The people under him are very well trained and doing an outstanding job...

The oldest and most famous restaurant in seafood and Asian cuisine segmet from Kolkata location is chowmein..❤️..they are having the wide ranges in variety of Asian foods and in the seafood also..!!.. they have a lots of outlets in all over the Kolkata location specially from South Kolkata.!!!..we went 3 to 4 months ago in at the Ballygunge outlet and it's actually situated at Ballygunge place..!!!
Courteous Staffs and there co - operation is making the place for being a good customer experiences😍❤️😍❤️❤️..!!!..we tried over there wok tossed Hakka noodles and lamb in oyster sauce...!!...they actually serve the authentic Chinese noodles which is actually different than others..!!.. I Just love there noodles and I also tasted there lamb item which was actually tossed with the oyster sauce...I can say that this dish's actually good who are the people actually love the combined taste of sweet and sour..😊😊😊..
Though this dish's is also very good to have..... prices are also very reasonable to afford..we were the two people,,made the billing amount for 650/- and overall cost for two people itself 1100/- if someone wants to have sufficient foods for themselves 😊😊..!!

Ordered Chilli Pork from here and Shanghai noodles, Schezwan noodles and kronjee crispy lamb from the patuli branch on 14th November. But I felt this branch's packaging is better so reviewing here. All the dishes were exceptionally tasty, with chilli pork they provided chilli vinegar, Schezwan sauce and chopsticks....and surprisingly from Patuli branch they only gave the sauce and vinegar, I thought they would also provide chopsticks since we ordered noodles from them. I think in both the orders delivery person was from Chowman, they were well behaved and polite and had no worry of locating my place. They directly called me after reaching near my house. Quantity was quite well as per price. Enjoyed an awesome meal, wanna order again in future from this branch.

An authentic Chinese restaurant.. Food quality and quantity both are satisfactory.. We tried starters to desert.. For starter we had salt n pepper prawns.. And shredded chicken.. For mains we had chowman special mixed fried rice.. Fish in oyester sauce and chicken in chilli wine.. In dessert we had chocolate walnut with vanilla ice cream and hot brownie with vanila ice cream..

This is really an amazing place to satisfy your Asian food cravings. Beautiful ambience, courteous staff, soothing music and amazing service along with delicious food makes Chowman - a must try restaurant in Kolkata. It’s highly recommended.
We had Fried Wontons as starters followed by pan fried chicken noodles and dry chilli chicken. All the dishes were lip smacking. I am fully satisfied with the taste and the service.
Pricing is very apropriate! We ordered
Rice noodles ( chicken ) Rs 200
Roasted Pork belly in ginger sauce Rs 300
And for starters we had chicken wantons Rs 205

All the items were as tasty as I expected them to be. Quality was maintained. Also the pork dish had the perfect ratio of fat and lean meat. Like most other places , the dish wasn't entirely fat.
Overall the place is much recommended.
I gave it 4.5 out of 5 because i would like a little bit better ambience. Maybe a soothing music? Idk the ambience had something missing in it. Otherwise , we had a blast.

1)Chilli Pork (Highly recommended)- Pork slices were well cooked, tasted really good and the gravy was thick and tasty.

I order my Chinese food from here, one for the quality and second for the quantity. Their portions are huge and sustains me through 2 meals.
Non veg fried rice or Hakka noodles are really good and must have with one of the Main Courses.
Ambience in this restaurant has really scratched my mind, it's so cozy, calm and the low pitch Tibetan/Chinese music adds more to the calmness. Foods are really good in taste. I ordered there Chicken momos (1 plate steamed and 1 plate pan fried), Schezwan Fried Rice (Mixed), Hong Kong Chicken, Fresh Lime Soda and a Vanilla ice cream with Chocolate Sauce. Garnishing is good, though there is room to make it better. Staffs are friendly and well mannered. Prices are pocket friendly.
Although i find some of their items a bit too spicy, the spiciness of which comes from adding red chili powder, yet their understanding of taste is definitely great. I would recommend a little bit less chilli powder because a restaurant has to think of its customers also. Definitely mouth watering and fulfilling.
I ordered the chicken combo superbowl. I opted for the rice and asian green version. The rice was flavoursome, kung pow Chicken was juicy and spicy.. but the chicken momo was okayish.. We also order a plate of crispy babycorn which was average. Overall it is a good place for a quick meal..

• Lemongrass fried rice - The aroma and taste will simply take you to paradise. Very subtle, light perfect to combine with something spicy. Highly recommended.
• Shanghai fried rice - This was the spicy version which was also very flavourful and tasty loaded with veggies and chicken.
• Teriyaki chicken - This is a non gravy item with a sticky texture, completely different in taste. Must try.

1. Wok tossed chicken hakka noodles which was a descent amount fr two without ny doubt.

This is my first visit to any chowman outlet..the place is really nice...especially ambience and the taste of food.we tested mix schezuan fried rice , veg sanghai noodles and chicken sweet and sour.All these items are really really nice.Chicken is soft and yummy.Noodles and rice are both properly cooked not very spicy..spices are balanced and the taste is just awesome.overall the food is 5 out of 5...also their prompt action and soothing behaviour will please you.hope to visit the place again

We usually go to the Salt Lake branch but as we were nearby so had to try it and we loved it. The food is as tasty as the salt lake branch and feels best specially my favourite Pan fried Chilli fish, no one makes it better than chowman
The food quality is very nice . And the staffs are very friendly and cooperative. Angshuman is really nice guy and he gave us good choices for trying new dishes.

Ordered my all-time favourite Chicken Sweet Corn Soup, followed by a hell varieties of starters among which I now have my new favourites as Pan fried Chilli Bhetki and had four types of desserts like - Icecream with Pineapple,Mango,Tutti Fruity and Chocolate Sauce. It is our routine destination for dinner on at least one occasion during our annual trip from Sydney. Love the food, simple ambience, value for money, and service. Just cannot get this Indo-Chinese flavour anywhere else in the world! Chowman, you should consider opening a restaurant in Sydney. It will rock, I promise. Lots of us expats back there crave for this flavour!
By far one of the best places to see savour mainland Chinese cuisine / flavor. Whilst a lot of the dishes are Indian versions of mainland Chinese dishes, but they are prepared really well.
I am regular with HK and Mainland Chinese dishes, so i can certainly vouch that the taste is authentic

Chowman is a premium restaurant for Chinese delicacies. They have various branches❤️, but we tried the Ballygunge one.
Mostly they have accommodation enough and wait time is not high at lunch time, but after that it starts to crowd.
We tried lots of item. Firstly, tried their steamed chicken momos which were tender and served in traditional way, which is the most unique experience.
Then we tried their special halka noodle which was loaded with special veges, egg, chicken, 🦐 prawn and mushrooms. All blended too well and tasted heavenly.
Then we ordered the sweet and sour chicken and Fish afgani with basha fish.
Fish was delicious. And chicken was too succulent. Do try must.
Overall bill was 1296rs but quantity was more than enough. We had to pack the food.
The service is top notch and they are too cooperative and well behaved. Just 10/10 with amazing ambience inside. You can not resist yourself to come again and again.
They also have a washroom which was pretty neat and clean. That's an added feature which is very helpful. ❤️❤️

Been there for Astami Lunch. It was crowded. We have to wait for half an hour and then we get to go inside . The atmosphere is superb . Calming sound . Hospitality was great. We ordered bhetki with bbq sauce, drums of heaven , mixed fried rice and chicken Manchurian. All these items are lip smacking. I'll give 10/10.

Taste of chicken fried rice was really good and highly recommended.This fried rice was a mixture of chicken and egg with some green toppings.Quantity was enough for two people.Enough pieces of tender chicken cubes and eggs.Garlic chicken was also good.There were 12 pieces of soft chicken.Coating was really thin and they were all boneless.The taste was a bit sweet.Adequte quantity of gravy.A little buttery with sweet tomato sauce.Along with they provided two chopsticks and chutney and chilly sauce and chilly vinegar.The price of chicken fried rice was Rs 245 and garlic chicken was Rs 300.

Chowman is the ultimate destination for someone who wants to satisfy their taste buds with authentic Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. Every time i have a craving for chinese cuisine, I visit there. Pan fried mushroom and prawn balls are just perfect to the T. However, this time I noticed and also informed the staff that prawn ball size has been reduced. Overall a nice experience to spend there with friends and family.
If you love to explore various authentic Chinese dishes, then this should definitely be on your bucket list. Serves quality food with a wide range of variety at an affordable price. The atmosphere is quite peaceful.
