Kicked off with a Gandhraj lemon mocktail and a starter named as Murgh Chingri Lollipop before diving in main course which was indulged with fine spices from Bengal. The service staff was very friendly and helpful throughout . The Thali is probably the best thing to have it over there. It's delicious and serves a normal person very well on the portion side.
We finished off with a chef's special dessert known as Ice cream Patisapta. We had a great time. It really did exceed expectations. Thanks again.
Really Good...we went there full family for lunch and truly speaking all are happy with the Experience..
The Food was good..the ambience all very nice...
Hope u guys continue your good efforts in the future too..
Great Going...Keep up The work.

Is too good.... kHub bhalo behavior, khub bhalo food quality ... yesterday amar lyf ar 1ta special day chilo, we celebrate ... r #Saptapadi te gia aroo bhalo katlo din ta ...
Just came back after having dinner, the food is really good.... there is a fusion touch to the preparation but very much like home made. All the fish dishes are AWESOME!!! The taste of Hilsha was EXCELLENT and that too at this time of the year.Perfect. Rating : Food : 5 on 5. Ambiance : 4 on 5. Space was the only drawback.
If you want to spend some quality time with your nearest ones... Then it's the perfect place... The USP of this place is the homely ambience, delicious foods... Also perfect for "খাদ্যরসিক বাঙালি"
It's really an awesome bengali food destination having the essence of pure "bengali khabar"........atmosphere is also quite easy & comfortable.........spclly there hospitality is also remarkable.........m loving it \m/
Very good bengali restaurant. A must visit. Nice ambience , good food and courteous staff . Special thanks to Mohinudiin and Debanjan for attending our table and keeping a check if the food is alright with anything extra we need.
This was my 2nd time visit and will love to visit it again.
Last but not the least Ilish Cheese ball and Caramel Custard was very delicious.
Food is awesome. Service and ambience are very good. Sk Moinuddin was very helpful selecting our food. Behavior is very polite. All together it was a nice experience having lunch at Sapatapadi.

Rice / Basanti pulao

Mutton 2pcs
Misti doi
Aam chatni
Papor 1pc
🏷️Price : 800 + Tax
🥣 Food quality & quantity : 5/5
🗣️ My take : Little bit overpriced but u'll get fish, chingri, mutton all in a thali. One drawback is very less options for desserts. They should add atleast one more dessert with this thali.
Covid protocol : shoe covers , temperature check , hand washing .
Final verdict : should try this thali. But explore other options too. We took their hot favourite Muri fish sticks as add on starter and it was worth it.
The interior is totally based on mahanayak ,themed with all bengali stuffs, even paralleled with Bengali 90s music! It's an amazing ambience. We took luchi alurdom, alongwith mishti pulao and kosha mansgho, we were really pleased with the taste the flavor and the behaviour of the staff. It's a must try!
Good quality food.just asswam
The place nd ambience were excellent,,, the behaviour of the staffs were very friendly and polite... .. Now coming to the food.. The Special Fish Thali was heavenly for any fish lover ... The Bhetki fry tasted equally amazing... Nd the chicken nd mutton were good too😍😍😍
Restaurant is in a nice location. You can enjoy a classic Bengali ambience. Quite and nice place.
They maintain hygiene and safety. Service were excellent. Well behaved stuff.
Food is good, Mostly the starters chicken lollipop. You can have the Thali option for verity of food.
Being a Bengali, trying out Bengli cuisine in Kolkata isn't something we do often but when craving hits, you don't hold back and that's how we decided to try Saptapadi.
Walking in, you're greeted by a great, old school atmosphere of the film starring Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen and the songs and ambience hold on to your attention.
We didn't waste much time and ordered Much Muche Macher Jhuri, Narkel r Koraishuti r Dal, Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Chanar Kofta, Rasun Bhetki Paturi and Saptapadi r Abhinaba Murgi. We were three of us and two bowls of rice and the rest in single quantity was more than enough.
Coming to the taste, each and every single dish tasted very good. The chicken being the best followed by quite different chanar kofta. The macher jhuri was really good and the starters were the favourite part. Do try that and of course the Abhi chicken or mutton according to your preference.
We loved our experience there and it's highly recommended for the atmosphere, courteous staff and most importantly food.
Definitely going back again.
Visited this restaurant after lot of research. Food taste and portion wise is good. We have order Saptapadi Jumbo Thali which includes luchi, rice, dal, shukto, cholar dal, beguni, jhuro aloobhaja, vetki paturi, ilish shorshe, chingri malai curry, chicken, mutton, chatni, papod, lichur payesh. Food is really good but I have not given 5 star because to me most of the items were having little salt issue but that’s manageable. Another dish we ordered was Muri Fish Stick. We felt the item is new and different but the the top coating is little thick than needed. Overall a good place to have a gala thali while enjoying Hilsa. I would recommend to go for this restaurant.

Have seen cinema themed restaurants but never thought will eat at a place dedicated to Uttam kumar and Suchitra Sen fans. What ambience, those old classic bengali songs, dayumn. Coming to the food part, yes thali tasted amazing. Amazing hosting.
# Saptapadi themed located near Hisdustan park
Thali touches each and every corner of the Bengali cuisine. Ambiance was perfect and staff are also friendly.my suggestions is must try it asap.
This is a very amazing place to have authentic bengali cuisine with family and friends.
Its decor and interior holds up a very cultural space for Bengali Movie.
As per the name you all understand that its represents the উত্তম সুচিত্রা era of tollywood.
I love this place.
But all i wanna say is, this place is way too much expensive.
Literally a lot costly.
Its hard to everyone to get there.
Cause most the bloggers aren't rich. Most of them are students and its hard for them to afford such expensive meals.
People who love to try places and restaurants at low cost. Its absolutely not for them.
Even I can't go there with friends or alone.
Only with family so that they can pay the bills. Cause as an student that too living far away from home all alone, spending such a amount isn't easy for me at once.
Yeah its not att budget friendly.
It is one of the best restaurent that serves good qualitu and quality of Bengali Quisine. In frame: Ampora sorbot
Durgapuja special Thali
Prawn malai curry
I visit this place during durgapujo2019, best combo ever, quality and quantity upto the mark. Service was too good and specially the ambience is too good.

Saptapadi is one of the famous Bengali restaurants in the City of Joy and it is winning the hearts of many Bengali cuisine lovers in the city for many years now. The name of this famous restaurant is chosen after the famous Bengali Movie Saptapadi which commemorate the golden era of Tollywood movie and the famous actor-actress pair Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen. 💕
Saptapadi is a food heaven for all the Bengali food lovers in the city. Based solely on their hard work and standard quality towards the homely Bengali cuisine foods, this place has won a lot of hearts in the City of Joy since many years now. ❤ Saptapadi has two branches - the oldest one being at Baghajatin, Kolkata and another one is at Purna Das Road, near Golpark, Kolkata. Recently I was at the Hindustan Park outlet of Saptapadi with my family for a Bengali lunch.
📍 Location: This outlet of Saptapadi is at 49B, Purna Das Road, Hindustan Park. It is walking distance of Hindustan Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja.
▶ Ambience/Décor/Service: Speaking of Ambience, the ambience of the place is really amazing, and it is perfectly matching to all the Bengalis sentiments. This outlet of Saptapadi is little bigger than Baghajatin outlet. The place is beautifully decorated with Uttam Suchitra's memories. By the name itself, a beautiful background light music is there from the film 'সপ্তপদী'. The mild songs from Saptapadi movie makes you feel nostalgic ❤ The staffs are super friendly & always ready at your service. The service of the place is prompt and amazing to satisfy both the tummy and the heart.
▶ Now coming to real deal which is food of course. Who does not love Authentic Bengali Cuisine, right? They have variety of options in the Authentic Bengali cuisine. All the items were just lip-smacking. So, we opted for the following items from the menu during the recent visit 👉

Eai poth Jodi na sesh hoye ,tobe kamon hoto tumi bolotoh?”
Much like the essence of the song we wish our journey for delicious food never cease to exist. Hello people, it’s been long since we scouted out the great eateries of our beautiful Kolkata as we all are caught up in this unforeseen circumstantial threat of #covid19 or corona virus but we are pleased to see that your love for us and our work remained the same.
With a note of thanks we would like to take you people back to year 2018 December 15th when we visited Saptapadi. Does the name ring a bell? Yes you people guessed it right, its Uttam- Suchitra’s Saptapadi, the beautiful pre- independence romantic classic reverberating the essence of inter religious love in tough times. By the way, we didn’t face any tough time with this namesake restaurant which is based on the theme of this classic movie and the larger than life romance of the enigmatic actor Uttam Kumar and the gorgeous actress Suchitra Sen.
Located in the alleys of Hindustan Park, Saptapadi is a compact but beautiful restaurant resonating the concept of unbound love and affection for Bengali movie and culture. Their passion and love for the culture gets reflected in their utmost hospitality and home style cooked Bengali cuisine. We went there in the auspicious occasion of their 5th year anniversary and our 2nd year of togetherness and got treated with paramount care and compassion.
We opted for their special non-veg thali which costed us only ₹550 inclusive taxes.. One thali is enough for one. It included welcome drink "Lichu Lonka Sarbot" which is their signature item. The rest of the thali consisted of various signature dishes from their menu and ended with mishti doi.
Such wonderful time we had , with the comforting staff, soothing ambience and most importantly delicious Bengali. We are going to give Saptapadi 4 out of 5 stars for such a beautiful experience onConcluding our special day. Our post with the same thought as earlier as we wonder, “Eai poth Jodi na sesh hoy , tobe kamon hoto tumi bolo toh?” We hope our relation also never end and that you people keep on supporting us with our further explorations.
Famous family restaurant in town for authentic Bengali cuisine. We ordered
(Mutton)non veg thali..
Plain rice
Saptapadi special mutton
Both the items are finger licking.. specially the mutton.
Staffs are well mannered and we love their ambience as well as nostalgic bengali music..
এই খাবার যদি না শেষ হয় তবে দারুন হতো 😂
Like the name food is also fantastic,
Music, decoration, location everything is just lovely.
Amazing food. Great staff. Loved the amBience and the music. But I just want to put in one suggestion - kindly redo the toilet. It's too small and not fit for the guests who go there. Especially for international guests.
We visited this resturant this Saturday as we were craving for Authentic Bengali Cuisine. I usually don't review resturants much often. A budget friendly resturant with a decent ambience. Service was great. We ordered the following :
1. Litchi Lanka Drink - A unique taste. Was refreshing. (5/5)
2. Steam Rice and Mishti Pulao. (5/5)
3. Chingri Malai Curry - This was delicious. (5/5)
4. Daab Chingri - Great. (4/5)
5. Bhetki Paturi - (5/5)
6. Pomfret Jhal - (5/5)
7. Katla Kalia - (4.5/5)
Loved the food. Was located quite far from our personal residence and it was worth it in the end. Props to the Manager who always had a smile on his face and was quite jolly. Easily recomendable, will surely visit again.
It was my birthday and I decided to visit this place. Food was awesome . Staffs are well behaved. We opted for special fish thali. Everything taste awesome. Highly recommend.

They have a small but attractive ambience .
Loved the food. All the items tasted equally good. Quality and quantity was quite satisfying.
After a long time had an authentic bengali cuisine. Had ordered gondhoraj chicken ilish bhapa bhetki paturi luchi cholar daal misti pulao. Loved every bit of it. The restaurant resonates lovely moments of Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen from Saptapadi. Overall it was a delightful experience.
Being a foody l love to visit new restaurants. Saptapadi was in my wishlist. As my father is a fan of Uttamkumar I had a wish to visit Saptapadi with family. The ambience is undoubtedly great. The mild music in background along with delicious Bengali food won my father's mind.

One of the best restaurant in Kolkata is Saptapadi. If you really love food and want to enjoy your lunch or dinner, you should come here.
It is a bengali restaurant. If you think urself a bengali, you should come atleast one time here. All foods are too good. Very pleasant atmosphere. Well behaved. Very quick service. And very reasonable price.
I think Saptapadi is the best bengali cuisine . I went there few months ago & my experience was awesome . The ambience is too good , food quality & hospitality was nice .
Well it was my first time visit along with my uncle and aunt who came down to the city from Doha.. The very first thing I would like to mention is the warm hospitality we received at the restaurant.. the food was exceptionally delicious and the pulao requires special mention..

Relaxed ambience, nicely lit, you can see your meal being prepared, simple but adequate and appropriate range / menu, and indeed the menu is very well executed - the food will bring you back for more. Exceptionally friendly and welcoming staff (thanks Anurag for the hospitality). The bakers basket before your meal is a winner...
One of the best authentic bengali cuisine are served by them. We've tried Jumbo thali each and every itmes are delicious. Special mention to fish fry, vetki paturi, ilish sorse, alur dom & mutton kosha. Beautiful interior are decorated with frames of iconic Uttam-Suchitra and very professional and well behaved staffs are always ready to help. Only negative is the place is bit small as per crowd. Overall excellent 👌

The best Bengali buffet I have ever had!!
It’s so pocket friendly.
The menu doesn’t have a huge variation but still the best.
Pure Bengali dishes, and the taste is really very tasty!!
Specially the mutton kasha, it was just awesome!!
Luchi and kasha mangso was my fav!!
I must go again!!
Excluding mutton the buffet price is 525.
Including mutton the buffet was near about 800
Overall experience was superb!!
A Bengali must go there!!
5 out of 5 star!!!
This a quaint small but homely place, named after an old Bengali movie, and the decor of this place alongwith the earthen cutlery transport you back to the days of yore. We ordered the jumbo saptapadi thali, and true to it's name, the portion size was humungous! It featured a crispy bhetki fry,in a batter of breadcrumbs with tangy kasundi, very crispy and enjoyable! The beguni or brinjal fritters were great too. The luchis were soft and tasty, and we got a serving each of prawn malaikari,a tad too sweet but well cooked, kosha mangsho which was juicy and had an amazing mutton gravy, with a lovely green kacha lonka chicken curry and a light bhetki paturi smeared in mustard. We had also ordered macher matha diye dal, which had crunchy bits of fried fish head in yellow dal,a delight! The mochar ghonto was average. However,we greatly relished the boneless hilsa gravy served in daab, with a rich curry featuring The unmissable Tang of mustard.
We had a memorable meal. The servers were courteous, and answered all our queries in great detail.
Highly recommend for a luscious and homely Bengali treat!
This is one my favorite restaurant. The food and the ambience make me feels like home. The mouth watering Daab Chingri is one of my favourite dish
A vintage restaurant of Bangalees. An emotion is attached with this restaurant where Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Mrs. Suchitra Sen are a memorabilia. They offered traditional Bengali food and dishes. As we went there on the New Year's Eve, the place was quite crowed as per the area of the restaurant. We had Chicken Chingri Drumsticks as starters. Next we ordered a Special Bangali Thali. Bhetki paturi was as per taste. We also ordered Daab Chingri. All in over it was a nice ambiance. A perfect place for family gatherings. People outside Bengal who wants to have Bengali Dishes can try this out. At last I wish thanks to the staffs for their good behaviour and proper guidance.

Food was awesome and very tasty... The quality of food and the quantity is too good... And the ambience was too good...
So we heard about the 'Winter Food Carnival' and with my mother's birthday coming up (and her being a Suchitra Sen fan) we decided to celebrate it with Saptapadi's winter special thali.
The theme of the restaurant, as the name suggests, is the Bengali movie of the same name. And the interior is decorated accordingly.
We ordered the thali and while the gentleman who took our order told us, the thali really isn't much in quantity, we found that to be false. IT WAS A LOT.
The starters were unlimited, so was the rice and luchi. My mother opted for mutton and I for chicken.
While the food was vast in quantity, we found that it was slightly lacking in salt (mind you not flavour). The lollipop that came with the thali (starter) was a rather strange addition because it was dipped in tomato sauce and seemed really out of place in a Bengali cuisine thali. Other than that, the thali was quite good. The meal is topped off with nolengurer rosogolla, papod and aamer chatni.
The service was swift and the staff members are very polite.
Went here on the first day of the year. Heard a lot about this restaurant and what a great way to start the year with some good Bengali food!❤️
What we had,
🔹Bhaat
🔸Shorshe Katla
🔹 Saptapadi Abhinaba Murgi
The shorshe katla just won my heart. Hadn't have a gravy like this in ages! The shorshe r jhol was bomb. The fish could've been a little softer though.
The Saptapadi Abhinaba Murgi was suggested by the servers. It was an okayish dish. They can work on the flavours. Although maybe If I had this before the shorshe r jhol it would have tasted better.
The service was quick and the staff was very welcoming. Made my day!
We had ordered thalis and each and every item were delicious and it has to be mentioned the behaviour of the staffs were really polite and friendly.
Amazing food. Quantity is enough for more than two people! Great staff behavior!
We went to Saptapadi for lunch on Christmas. My parents prefer bengali cuisine and hence we opted for Saptapadi. We ordered Rice, Alu bhaja, Beguni, Daal with narkol, Daal with macher matha, Mochar Ghonto, Aar mach, Daab Ilish, Tel Koi and Chatni. All of the dishes were a gastromical treat. Lovely food, extremely courtesious staff and nice ambience is what Saptapadi is made of. I would recomend it highly and would love to go back for my special days.
Thanks to Sanjib for the hospitality.
Yesterday we went to this place.
This restaurant serves Bengali cuisine at a very affordable rate. The ambiance is pretty decent. The restaurant theme was based on Bengali retro film " SAPTAPADI" and you can find pictures of Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen all over the wall.
Coming to food, you can either opt for à la carte or their famous thalis. We opted for à la carte.
We ordered: (Must say each and every food item was very tasty and serve at its best quality)
1. Kolkata Bhetki Fry
2. Bhetki Chingri Popcorn
3. Polao
4. Illish Bhapa
5. Dab Chingri
6. Fresh Lime Soda
7. Soft Drink
Bhetki fry was too large. One is enough for two people. At the time of order I was bit confused about Illish Bhapa. But One staff (Mr. BIKRAM) assured to take Illish and said if we don't like its taste and quality it will be replaced. I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT TASTE OF ILLISH WAS JUST OUT OF THE WORLD. Bikram was very friendly and cooperative.
*** One thing they must look after i.e CLEANLINESS of Bathroom and restaurant floor. And for these reason we gave 4* but according to food item it won 5*.
PROS : Food was awesome. Ambience was great . Background song of saptapadi movie create a nostalgic feeling. We ordered fish thali and amish thali. Fish thali was great taste wise. Must order lichu Lanka sarbat for unique taste.
CONS: they serve tomato chutney which was very less amount and served in a very small bowl.
Overall a great outing with family.
The main attraction here is the presentation of the dishes. The pora maati utensils are a treat to the eyes. Food is really good. Loved the muchmuche bhajar jhuri and special non veg thali. Though the luchis could have been better. Service is good
Saptapadi is known for its wonderful ambience and good Bengali food. We went here for the winter carnival thali. Had ordered the winter carnival thali and the special fish thali. As far the food is concerned most of the dishes were decent, but got dissapointed with the dishes which mattered the most, the chittol wasn't upto my expectations, the ilish while the gravy was delicious, the quality of the fish itself wasn't good. Would recommend coming back here though :)
Tried the WiNter Carnival Bhuri Bhoj Thali and it was excellent . Everything tasted really good and I had a great time eating those unlimited starters.😍
এই পথ যদি না শেষ হয় তবে..

One of the affordable Bengali resturants in kolkata based on the theme of famous Bangla movie Saptapadi. We ordered kolkata vetki fry, sada vat , vetki paturi , sajnekhali chingri , chital peti and mangsher sipahi among which the best dish was the vetky fry according to us. They capture picture of every customer with prior permission and provide a print out of that photograph as a gift. Staff behaviour is very good , specially the manager, he is very attentive and well spoken. Before leaving you can pick up paan from the plate which has kept near the exit. Overall very good experience.
Great bengali ( Eastern Indian) cuisine … located near back of Gariahat/Golpark…Based on the evergreen classic movie of Saptapadi …..No dedicated parking available…fantastic Snacks…hygiene maintained… served on ceramic dishes… Fish special thalis are really fantastic…They thank you with a printed photo…you can order ahead…home delivery available
Simply Superb. For this puja ,Normal thali & Ilish thali are great.Dab Ilish , Prawan , Bhetki ,Reoaji Mutton just superb. All the staff's behaviour nice.Head of the staff who give me one glass of energy drink as extra l mean free of cost as per my request..just chill..Thanks to him.I have visited @9.40pm on 22.10.23(Astami),Closing time was 10pm,Inspite of that all foods are good except two pieces of kabab included in thali. But I think it is ok because it was already in late for us..Anyway It's superb restaurant. Also 99/-off offer is runnings in thali for your next visit..Thanks.
In Kolkata there are many restaurant who are serving bengali food saptapadi is one of them. I had high expectations about the ambience and food but both are average. Not felt the warmth of their hospitality. Golpark saptapadi may be they are more into sales.
Bangaliana at its best. The overall experience was awesome. Food is high average. I have had better Bangali cuisine elsewhere as well. But the best part is their jesture of gifting You Your group photo at the restaurant is heart warming.
The restaurant is Uttam-Suchitra themed, however the seating space area isn't huge. It is not a large-spaced restaurant but have decent Bengali cuisine.
I took my parents there during Durga Puja to celebrate Dashami. We chose their Puja special ilish thali which was priced at 1349/-. Due to the rush, the service was a bit delayed but the waiters were well-behaved. So is the manager Sanjib.
The thali consisted of several items, but to be fair, I would rate them 3/5 in terms of taste. When you go out for an authentic Bengali cuisine in Kolkata, your expectations of the standard are usually on the higher notch.
Excellent Restaurant. Although not too big but still it has quite Nostalgic Bengali vibe with the theme being homage to the Bengal's two cinema icons. Staffs are very courteous and they even suggest you what menu item you should/may try. Food is also quite good. We tried Aampora Sarbat, Basanti Pulao, Ilish, Daab chingri, Chicken, Mutton. All were tasty and you don't have to wait long for the food to be served. If you are around Gariahat and looking for a authentic Bengali restaurant, this is a good place to try. The other restaurants that are near by are not up to the mark and that's why this stands apart.
One pleasant surprise is that after dinner they would give you one group photo which is a nice touch
It was indeed a splendid experience. Great food, great ambience and great service. One of the best restaurants in Kolkata serving Bengali cuisine.
The food is really good and hospitality is brilliant. The place/seating arrangement is a little congested but the authentic food covers for it all. Had a great time.
Went for a late lunch on a Sunday. They were able to find seats for the two of us who went there. The service was exceptional. I found the staff to be very friendly, hospitable and timely with food being brought out after the order. We had Posto bora, Mangshor Jho, Shukto and Bhath. All very well prepared.
I visited this place on a weekend. The crowd was too much, we had to wait for around 30 45 minutes but the food was worth the wait.
Saptapadi serves authentic Bengali food all of which tastes totally amazing. The fish fry is a special attraction. It's big and composed of only bhetki mach without any extra spices. The crisp and the fresh taste of the fish makes it drooling.
The price is reasonable and the quantity is good.
The only issue is that the restaurant is a bit small as compared to the crowd it gets.
They arrange for all sorts of special occasions like aayiburo bhaat if we inform them before.
Overall an amazing experience.
Fishfry, polau and mutton kosha is a must try.
Good ambience. Expected better food quality.
They served politly but with a hurried way, wants the guests to leave the place. Give less time to enjoy our food.
Today visit saptapadi at Hindustan park area branch, well served by Mr.Satyapriyo shau. Overall fantastic experience . Food quantity is also good.
Best Resturant in Kolkata for pure bengali food. And their service was very good. The taste of foods are very good. They are provide a special thali in every special day like poila baisakh, puja time and also for aiburobhat.
Very good ambience and good quality food. Service was also good.
