A very nice place for casual dining. Food quality is very good and everyone can go and try their food with affordable prices.
Very good food experience, has an authentic Chinese feel! Keep it up!
This is one of my favourite place when it comes to have some porky meal... Last time I had their Roasted Chilli Pork and their famous Egg Pork Roll... Both are insane in taste... Quantity was huge... Quality of the pork is really exquisite... I had their food after a long time... And they are still maintaining the standards very high... Pocket pinch is very very acceptable...
A sudden visit to Tak Haeng For lunch (January, 2020)
Tak Haeng is one of the most popular food joint among the Chinese food lovers of Kolkata. It is located at Southern avenue near Vivekananda Park. It may be the only restaurant located in this area where you can find that old school Chinese restaurant/ eating house feel. The place is simply decorated , the white walls, some wall paintings makes this place more special to me because I find this type of restaurant very soothing and comfortable.
Food:
Phuket Fish: It is a spicy fish coated with lots of finely Chopped onions, ginger and garlic tossed up in soy sauce and chilli. A perfect appetizer to start with.
Pork spring Roll: They make brilliant spring roll , the crispy coating and minced pork filling goes perfect with the sauce.
Mixed Sanghai Fried Rice: It was amazingly balanced dish, infact I can eat the whole portion without any side dish.
Diced Pork in pickled hamchoi: It was too salty infact we were shocked that how can be a dish so salty, we told that to the man who was serving. He took the dish then made some adjustment in the preparation and that modified version was edible at least.
Steamed custard Bao: This custard bao is soft and has a lot of sweet creamy custard filling , served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Overall I found this place as a good option if I drop this locality anytime. Pocket Pinch is around 1000/- for two.
Bon Appetit!!!!!
Steamed Momos at Tak Heng, the iconic dimsum tea restaurant serving Old School Calcutta Chinese at Keyatala Road has always delighted me!
Nothing can beat the taste of this when paired up with the special Icecream Soda from Cotton's which is a rarity in the City of Joy!
Have you tried this yet?
Variants available : Chicken & Pork
Tak heng is located in the alleys of kalighat, near gariahat...we ordered Roasted crab in hoisin sauce, duck in barbeque sauce, gravy noodles and coke...all tasted great😋😋😋..i would highly recommend this place for seafood...the quality was huge, sufficient for more than 3 persons....❤️loved it❤️
Nice chinese eatery at southern avenue area. The staffs were very courteous and helped us with our reservation. We ordered drums of heaven(photo not included), chicken manchurian and mixed hakka noodles. Noodles was just awesome to taste.. Same indo-chinese aroma.. Chicken manchurian could be a little more tasty.. Drums of heaven were also very good.. And its very much ok, if the pocket pinch is concerned.

This is a good place to have Chinese foods in the city, no doubt!! Located few minutes distance from golpark. Last month I went there to try this place and my overall experience was average. I had expected a lot from them which didn't touched. Food quality is very good but in case of quantity, they should increase little bit more. I am quite disappointed with their behaviour. So please rectify this. Compare to quantity, price is not so reasonable, but not costly also. Ambience was good, well decorated. So, in overall, I can't give them more than 4 stars out of 5.
Few days ago, I visited this restaurant with my friends. This place is a hidden gem and it is serving authentic chinese and Tibetan dishes in the city of joy. The ambience of the restaurant is amazing. They also have a outside sitting area. Their hospitality was amazing.
We tried
1. Steamed momo- One of the best dimsum i ever tried. The stuffing inside the momo tasted very very good.
2. Chicken steamed rice- The rice was served with lots of vegetables, chicken and thick gravy. It was good in taste.
3. American chop suey- Crispy noodles mixed with vegetables and topped with a poached egg. You should definitely try this.
4. Chilli roasted pork- Best pork item I ever tried. The pork pieces were smoky and spicy and tasty as well.
My personal favourite item was steamed momo and chilli roasted pork. If you love authentic Chinese and Tibetan food then you should visit this place.
This place is no doubt one of the hidden gems, serving authentic Chinese food in Kolkata. The interior is very well decorated with Chinese lanterns on the roof and the area is quite spacious. They have a outside sitting facility as well.
Some of the food items I tried were :-
* Dim Sum (The Dim sums were very well steamed and the filling inside it tasted amazing)
* American Chop Suey (The noodles were crispy along with flavourful vegetables and a mixture of sweet & sour sauce)
* Chicken Steamed Rice (The rice was very fluffy and is served with a mixture vegetables and boiled chicken and had thick consistency of gravy)
* Chilli Roasted Pork (This had a very smokey flavour and the chunks of pork were tender and spicy)
The food tasted exactly as per my expectations and me being a Chinese food lover, I personally enjoyed their food and the way they follow the Chinese tradition in terms of cookery.
Fantastic authentic Chinese food! Absolutely loved the quality as well as quantity of the food! Stuff were very polite and helpful! Highly recommended!
Had been here couple of times earlier. Yesterday's visit was an impromptu decision to step in during the chill Sunday late evening and devour some pork delicacies. Tak Heng didn't disappoint as usual. The pork fried momos (6 pieces to a plate) was great to taste, and the pork chowmejn (white gravy based) was enough to feed 2 people, loaded with roast pork slices and veggies. It's always a joy to visit this place and enjoy good food at an affordable rate.
Good food. Decently polite staff. Had the chimney soup. Good balence of vegies to meat ratio. Flavorful not bland. A dash of chilli oil and pepper sums it up perfectly. Half chimney soup heartymeal for two.
Hindusthan park এর পূজো থেকে কিছুটা এগোলেই এই Hidden Gem টা অবস্থিত। ছিমছাম Ambience। আমরা order দি:-
🔰Chicken steam momo
🔰pork bao
🔰Mixed hakka noodles
সবকটা পদের স্বাদ অসাধারণ ছিলো।
🕎overall review:- 9/10
Went to Take Heng during Durga Puja to find the place surprisingly empty.
My guess is they served us super stale momos, because the outer coating had totally disintegrated and the meat inside tasted dry and old. Quite an awful experience
In the mains however we had the mixed fried rice and the chilli pork and both were absolutely yum!
Visited on a saturday night, booked table beforehand. Nice cozy place with excellent chinese food. We had the chimney soup i.e. a tasty & filling seafood soup, pork & chicken momos which were excellent and a crispy fish starter which was average. For mains, we had fried rice, chowmein, chilli pork & chicken, all of which were good. The quantity of the fried rice per plate is huge! I was personally a bit disappointed that duck wasn't there this evening & also in general I did not find normal duck items on the menu (e.g. chilli duck as a side dish). Only duck items were entire duck items (half & full) costing 650 & 1200. Overall, I recommend this place for a nice chinese dinner.
This place is definitely one of the hidden gems in the city, serving amazing chinese, thai cuisine as well as momos.
First of all, one must keep in mind that if you are looking for a professional fine dining restaurant, then this is not the place. We were served by a lady who was very welcoming and this place had a very homely atmosphere.
We ordered-
*Pork wonton soup (4/5)
*Chicken wonton (3/5)
*Mixed mei foon (4.5/5)
*Tak heng roast chilli pork(5/5)
If I ever revisit this place,I will most definitely order the roast chilli pork and meifoon. Absolutely loved the taste and flavour of these dishes.
The chicken wonton smelled a little weird. Didn't like it much.
We were pleasantly surprised by this place.
On the Day of Durga Puja(Panchami) we visited there and our experience is great. They have a large space and the place is well decorated. We have ordered Burnt Garlic chicken fried rice, Hot Garlic chicken and Salt n pepper chicken as starter. All items were delicious and their service is very fast.

This is a pretty ambience place the food is nice and the service was also ok ok like that food quality and the quantity is less for one person but the price is ok
One can visit this place once to taste the food..
Overall liked it.
A gem , hidden away amidst all the craziness. PORK LOVERS, definitely go here, the chilli roast pork is so damn good. Excellent food, though homely atmosphere. If you're looking for professional fine dine, then don't. But if you're looking for excellent food and flavor. Do go. A GEM !!!!!

Our monthly lunch club, eager to eat with single minded dedication, ordered various items
Our reactions to each –
Chimney Soup – super, all kudos to the chef.
Chicken in Barbeque Sauce – great
Mixed Vegetables – Mushroom and Baby Corn – good
Mixed Hakka Noodles – good
Darsaan with Vanilla Icecream – good
Steamed Custard Bao – good
But the starter – Crispy Pork Belly - was a sore disappointment, fried till the pork belly disappeared in the heavy batter.
Hak Teng is a small intimate place. We request the management to instruct the staff to give due respect to the very pleasing décor and not to put ordinary empty teapots next to the striking upright horse in the shelf.
In honour of the Chimney Soup, we rated it as a very pleasant culinary experience. Definitely a four.
This is a small Chinese eatery that serves delicious food. We ordered roast chili pork, mixed hakka noodles, and Hong Kong chicken. If you are looking for good place to eat near Hindustan Park that doesn't make a whole in your pocket, then this is the place to be.
We have been to this place on two occasions. On our first visit we had Mr. Francis guide us through the menu and give us suggestions, but he wasn't present in the second time we visited.
Tak Heng is located in a lane around Southern Avenue area and is not very hard to locate. The place is spacious with good seating arrangement. We were warmly welcomed inside. The people are really helpful in giving suggestions.
We had taken:
1. Chef's special chimney soup: The "half" portion of soup is sufficient to provide for approximately 4 full servings. It was full of veggies, meat and was very soothing on palate. It also came with noodles. This is a must try item from their menu.
2. Roast chilly pork: It was spicy and the quantity was enough for 3 people. The meat was also soft and juicy.
3. Pork in Haimei sauce: It was really amazing. Although for me, roast chilly pork was a better option.
4. Mixed meifoon noodles: It could be had on its own or with a side dish. It was flavourful and full of meat, shrimps and veggies. It was wonderful.
5. Fried Bao with ice cream: This was a unique item, with fried Bao sprinkled with powdered sugar and vanilla ice cream, all served on banana leaf. This may not be mentioned in the menu, and one may need to specifically ask for it if it isn't mentioned while asking regarding desserts.
Tak Heng was a wonderful place and a wonderful experience with equally wonderful food, menu, location and people. Would love to visit this place again.
For very long there was a dearth of good Chinese places near Vivekandana Park. Finally found a really good place.
The chilly garlic pepper chicken is a must try.
Good friendly staff! Food is average! Though i haven't tasted all dishes yet! So will visit again and let you guys know how is it!
We took - chilli garlic pepper chicken, Mixed Fried Rice, Chilly Oyster chicken!!
A great place to enjoy delicious Chinese food at a pocket friendly budget. Well behaved courtious staff and a beautifully decorated ambience. We had ordered chicken wanton, chilly pork and chilli pepper chicken. All the dishes were sumptuous. Looking forward to pay another visit to try out some more interesting dishes.
my hunt for the unique chimney soup ended over here.... to know more about the foods served here and ambiance, check out the youtube video by DEBOJYOTI VLOGS
This is a Chinese Tibetan outlet near vivekananda park . We went to have dinner there ans ordered chimney soup, veg wantons , pork momo and noodles . The food was pretty good and the prices was also reasonable .
My friend and I went for a simple dinner where we ordered the roast chilli pork and pork burnt garlic fried rice.
1. The cut of the pork in the roast chilli pork was simply divine. The heat of the chilli wasn't over powering neither was there an absence of fat (good for my friend)
2. There was actual LEGIT pieces of burnt garlic. The rice was light and reminded us of the old school Chinese food we used to get in our childhood.
Definitely worth a visit. We went in with Zomato gold.
I have ordered 1 VEG FIRED RICE AND CHILLI CHICKEN COMBO AND 1 EGG CHOWMIN AND CHILLI PORK on 23/03/2019 from zomato..... The taste of the food is good.... The quality is nice... But the quantity is not sufficient for 1 person.... Which i feel.... Otherwise everything is ok.... Overall experience is nice....
An authentic tibetian food joint located in the bylanes of southern avenue. We tried their pork momos , roasted chilli pork and szchwan pork. Among these szchwan pork was the best dish and this place is highly recommended for pork lovers.
Pros
------
1. Friendly staff
2. Decent ambience
3. Delicious food
4. Excellent service
Cons
-------
Nothing major
This place is known for its pork and sea food dishes. So don't forget to other dishes based on these items.
Our love for pork is eternal.I hope you all know that by now. To satisfy our porky cravings we created a poll in Facebook as to which restaurant we should visit!! Tak Heng was suggested by many and we chose to try it!! The ambience is obviously nothing like a posh restaurant , so people who visit restaurants just for the ambience, please stay away from it. Ignoring that, the food was just awesome!!! The taste will linger for days to come❤.
We ordered:
Crispy chilli pork-- Thinly shredded pork pieces deep fried and tossed in an sweet garlic chilli sauce. It taste just awesome.
Roasted chilli pork- This dish was suggested by many. We ordered this after a huge confusion, and honestly speaking this was the best chilli pork we had ever. The flavours were just perfectly balanced .
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Pork fried rice- A huge bowl of fried rice with generous amount of pork in it. The pork has just opened up the taste of the rice.
Would like to visit this resturant numerous number of times.
Nice ambience. Very much pocket friendly. Food quality is very good. Portion sizes are more than adequate. Just that, they haven't improved much on the desserts.
For The Calcutta Porkaddicts, the owner very cordially crafted a special menu for the day and that is very polite and kind of him.
Coming to food, the ofal, pork with egg and pork in clay pot, were the outstanding dishes in an extremely satisfying meal. Hope to be there soon .
The ambience is quite calm and soothing. Not a difficult place to find.
We took Mandarin fish, mixed gravy pan fried noodles, mixed fried rice and roast chilly chicken.
The fish and noodles was marvelous! The rice was simple yet delicious.
I was really disheartened by the chicken. I would give it a 1/5. The meat wasn't well cooked, too tough, more of a simple dry whole chicken fry.
Was an amazing dinner, till that chicken came in!

The Iconic Tak Heng, the dimsum tea restaurant is back with a bang at Keyatala Road with a larger space than before! The 60-seater restaurant also has the space to accommodate a hundred foodies now.
Located on Keyatala Road, this revamped Tak Heng is a place to watch out for. Although the menu has many new things, they have made sure to keep the best of the earlier version intact. The Chimney Soup and Roast Chilli Pork remain the showstoppers of their eclectic menu which we gave a shot at on our recent visit to this Central Kolkata's Tung Nam's doppelganger!
It is a warm, cozy & comfortable place with a soulful homely atmosphere and minimalist red and white interiors which sets the theme of this place & resembles the color co- ordination of old Chinese eateries which definitely is gonna make you go crazy both by the looks & the hearty meal that we experienced on our visit.
The menu comprises of most of our Tung Nam favourites, with a few additions with includes some Thai signatures as well. The
Pork & Shrimp Momos & the Pork Fried Wontons will surely gonna tantalize your taste buds while the Roast Chilly Pork will leave you crave for more & more! From the mains, the Mapo Tofu with Steamed Rice & the Chicken Hamchoy turned out to be absolutely delightful with their taste being fabulous, quantity being sufficient & quality being top notch! The Mixed Panfried Gravy Chowmein & the Singapore Chilli Crab on the other hand were those irresistible fantasies that are worth drooling for! Also, they serve a special Icecream Soda from Cotton's which is a rarity in the City of Joy! Highly Recommended!
The iconic eatery which had created wonders back in 2015 is here with a larger space keeping the old mesmerizing flavours from the bustling China town in Calcutta.
Tak Heng brings to your palate some of the delectable dishes that have the true flavour of chinese cuisine. The old favourites like the Chimney Soup, Roast Chilli Pork continues to be a mandatory part of their menu. Some of the must-try dishes from the menu are the Singapore Chilli Crab, Chicken Hamchoy, Pork n Shrimp Momos, Pork Fried Wontons. The Mapo Tofu with Steamed Rice is now one of my favourites here.
With 3100 sq ft, Tak Heng boasts two rooms with a seating capacity for 30 people each and has a party venue that can fit in 100 heads. So you can drop in with your big gang to relish the flabbergasting dishes here. Sip on some aromatic tea throughout your meal and enjoy the homely warm atmosphere with your dear ones.
On Sundays they have a special Breakfast menu that will remind you of the delectable dishes from the stalls of Tiretti Bazar.
Look who is back with a BANG!
Located at Keyatala Road, just ahead of Fillers near Vivekananda Park, Tak Heng is now larger than ever. With a space to accommodate 100 people, this restaurant has red interiors which remind you of the warmth of old Chinese eateries.
The ambience is great, the food is even better.
The hero items were Chimney Soup, Roast Chilli Pork and Singapore Chilli Crab, my personal favourite being the Crab. It was delicious to say the least. Flavours were spot on.
They provide a green coriander chilli sauce that was actually sweet and chilly at the same time, and that is what makes your tastebuds go crazy!
The Pork & Shrimp Momos as well as the Pork Fried Wontons were great as starters. Roast Chilli Pork was simply out of this world, which I could eat 10 plates at least.
Mapo Tofu with Steamed Rice was a simple dish, yet the delightful taste and the aroma will leave you asking for more.
Chicken Hamchoy was a house special and it turned out to be fabulous.
Mixed Panfried Gravy Chowmein was a Cantonese delight, which teamed up with the Singapore Chilly Crab turned out to be a gastronomical delight!
Quality, Taste and Quantity – This place ticks all the boxes and I am sure am coming back here for more. Highly Recommended!
Pro Tip: This place is one of those rare ones where you get the special Ice Cream Soda from Cotton’s.

The Oriental giant comes back with a bang @ Tak Heng.!
Speak of Chinese and Oriental and Tak Heng is one name, which is sure to list among one of the best in town. Serving their customers with happy faces and filling up their tummies with sumptuous and flavorful dishes since long, Tak Heng has emerged back at a brand new place with a bang.
The interior speaks pretty much the same, reflecting on the quintessential Tak Heng vibes and simplicity. While the food, remains the same, or perhaps a notch better.
We started off with the Dim Sum platter, which comprised off the juicy Sui Mais, where the juicy fillings and the delicate meat instantly played a flavor profile inside the mouth. Next to come was the sumptuous Pork Baos with the Baos being soft and fresh and the Pork being cooked to perfection.
We then moved on to the Pan Fried Gravy Noodles, Whole Roasted Chicken and Singapore Chilli Crab. Pair the simple yet delicious broth of the gravy noodles and pour them upon the fried noodles and you shall have a match made in heaven. This dish is a winner in itself, but I quite liked the Whole Roasted Chilli Chicken which had a full chicken roasted and then cooked with black bean sauce to produce a juicy and delectable Chilli Chicken.
The Singapore Crab was perfectly done, with a light crispy batter on the top. The spice quotient was not overwhelming and had the right amount of deliciousness incorporated within it. Truth be told, I had always been a fan of Crab dishes here, and this time was no exception.
We ended our meal with the most innovation and an unique dish, Caramelized Pork Belly with Rice. You take the soft and juicy pork chunks, marinated long enough to not even make any effort to feast upon them and mix in the spice of the fiery red chilies and the sweetness of the sugar. The pork bellies were caramelized till they had this charred brown texture on them and when combined with the chilies, the dish appeared to have made straight in heaven.
Get your act along, gather your friends or even hop in alone, for you know the place to hear next when you will be craving for some classy Oriental!
Tak Heng is a Chinese Tea House styled restaurant. It is decorated in every way to depict the Chinese symbols of happiness and wealth. One speciality of this place is that, all the dishes available here are of strictly Chinese/Thai origin.
The Dim Sum Platter comprised of Pork Baos, Chicken Momos & Chicken Sui Mais. The Bao was soft and tender, while filling was quite spicy. The Sui Mai with the delicate wrapper and a scrumptious filling was a treat in itself. It was rich, and flavourful.
One of the most unique dishes I have ever tried has to be the Caramelised Pork Belly with Rice. The sweetness of caramel, interrupted only by the hot dry red chillies, and adding to it, the soft succulent pieces of meat and fat was a delicious combination.
I am not much fan of crabs at restaurants, however I had to admit that the Singapore Chilli King Crab we tried was really tasty. One could just bite into the crab, it was that soft. The batter on the crab was very light and even.
Mixed Panfried Gravy Chowmein with Fried Egg is a unique dish as it incorporates the fried noodles of a chopsuey with that of a traditional gravy noodle. The quantity was ample for two adults. The whole Roasted Chilli Chicken compliments the chowmein. The chicken had imbibed the marinations quite well and although it was roasted whole, the chicken was still soft and juicy.
Overall Tak Heng is much recommended for the taste of some unique Chinese dishes and amazing ambience along with some authentic Chinese tea experience.
A perfect cozy place to have dinner with friends and family. Specially the owner Prithvish made us feel very comfortable and suggested many dishes. The staffs are very polite. Just loved one old Stewart who was politely suggesting the foods with our moods. Thoroughly enjoyed the non veg and veg platters as one among us was vegan. Improvisation was just superb.
If you really want the taste of most Authentic Chinese food then don't look for any options than Takheng. Lipsmacking taste. Amazing food quality.
I was really disappointed with Tangra as most of the restaurants at Tangra is no more owned by Chinese people.
Takheng is run by a team of Chinese staff. I tried the boiled fish & hot basil rice. Had pork momo for starters. It's the taste of 90' s Tangra. Wish they serve liquor in tangra style
This place is located at a lane in keyatala. The place was all empty at the time we went. The interior gives you much of an ancient Chinese feel with lamps hanging from the ceiling and those red wallpapers. We ordered chilly garlic pepper chicken for starters which tasted amazing. For main course we took hakka noodles and schezwan chicken which tasted good as well. Though the food tastes mind blowing but the quantity is very less. The staffs were very active and courteous towards us. They even helped us choosing the dishes. Would love to visit again.
Good quality food , with good Chinese ambience.....the best part is that the behaviour of the staffs....the quantity is not up to the expectations...but overall this restaurant is awesome.... I just loved it
A hidden gem! Located in an alley, in keyatala which could be hard to locate, thus use your map or call. They serve supeb authentic Chinese and south east Asian fast food. Prompt service and excellent behavior of the staff. Prices are inclusive of taxes.
This place is one of it's kind and is very fresh when it comes to decor.
All about red & white, with neat decor, edge to edge not over done.
About food, we had Calamari and the Roast chilli chicken.
Freshness and authenticity of flavours is what defines the dishes of this place.
Nice plating, prompt service and perfect composition of spices and methodology applied to get an output, which'll surely satisfy your tastebuds.

Awesome food, fantastic service, excellent quality.A true treat to your belly. The best part is pocket pinch is nothing compare to the food quality,a superb place to dine out.Folks please remember to try seafood soup and pork.
I had heard a lot about this place before deciding to order. The food was quite good but not up to the mark. We had the Burnt Garlic Fried Rice which had no hint of Garlic at all. Looking past that it was a decent dish. The Chilli Pork in sweet and sour sauce was quite delicious but was way too oily. The Chicken Yellow Curry (thai) was really good though. I can go back to that place just to try their thai dishes. I hope I have a better experience next time.
Their crab preparation is very good. Also, the chicken in black bean sauce is one of my favorites.
The best thing about this restaurant is that it does not only serve food.. It provides you service.. Customer service is very much valued at this place.
You will get my favourite cook in this restaurant.
The owner is very kind to us, it's like 'Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka'
One of the best Thai restaurants we have in Kolkata
Thank you
Went there for a lunch with family during the pujo.
Had tried kai chi and mixed fried rice and chicken fried rice alongwith roasted chilli chicken (roast pork chilli was not available).
I found the kai chi quite nice as well as the mixed rice. would definitely visit again for the roast pork chilli.
But I believe the service could be a bit more prompt,
Went there for a dinner with family. Tried chicken chow with rosted chilli chicken. It was goos in taste, though price is a bit on higher side compared to the ambience and quantity
Quantity per portion is lesser than standard for few items like hakka noodles. Some items like chilly chicken have high salt. Overall food was quite delicious

I haven't been to this place yet however I have ordered food on three consecutive days. I am absolutely in love with their roasted chilli pork. The taste of the food is very different from your typical Chinese restaurant and it is good. Thai dishes can be avoided. Otherwise I definitely recommend this. At least the home deli
We were hungry @ office and desperately needed one post lunch snack. One of my colleagues suggested this place as she is a regular. We, being core lovers of pork and squid, ordered the same. The chilli pork was just out of this world..spicy..tangy and yummy while the squid was lip-smacking as well.
Please do remember us as we will order these goodies soon :)
Heyyy.... it's gr8 to be back to Takheng after a long time. typical old kolkata chinese food of Tiretti Bazar.
And yes the taste of food really made me nostalgic....
Pork momo & fish siu mai. Roast chilli pork remains its signature dish. And the fresh crabs in singapore chilly is outstanding in its class.
I wish takheng maintains the lost flavour of Calcutta famous chinese preparations !!
The food is super tasty. The restaurant is a bit too pricey. But great food so I have no problems with it. :D (Here I am speaking about non-veg only. Have no clue about it's veg.)
In Summary:
My visit to this place was a really pleasant experience that left me with the desire to come here once more after the due renovations were complete.
Getting there:
The easiest way would be to arrive at Vivekananda Park on Southern Avenue and take the lane beside Fillers and immediately take the first left after that. Tak Heng would be on your immediate left.
What I ordered:
1 small portion of Tom Kha Gai, 1 portion Chef's Special Noodles and 1 portion Tiretta Chilly Chicken.
My Experience:
Decor wise, Tak Heng is very reminiscent of a Cafe serving you with Asian cuisine. Since the majority of the restaurant was under renovation which I had not known before arriving, I was taken aback as to what my experience would be but the manager there seemed very nice and friendly which changed my mind completely.
With respect to the dishes that I had ordered, I would personally say that the soup was the hero amongst them all or it could be because I absolutely love coconut milk and absolutely loved how the flavors played out overall in the soup. The Chef's special noodles had amazing texture and to my surprise had pork in it. I did not expect the pork to be so juicy and tender and absolutely loved it. Though the entirety of the noodles was on the bitter side which could've been due to the sheer amount of broccoli and cabbage, yet it redeemed itself due to the amazing texture of the meat. Finally the Tiretta Chilly Chicken was in itself a joy to have but it was on the salty side of things which is why you needed to have that with the noodles to balance out the flavors.
Overall, the dishes were mighty fine and I would consider visiting Tak Heng once more after the renovations are complete!
This place is awesome. Very near to Basanti Devi College. Very convenient.
Staffs are really helpful and they will help you to find a perfect dish according to your budget.
I tried roasted Pork, chimney soup (must try), chicken roast, pork bao.
Pleas try chimney soup. Price is 480 for half, which is more than sufficient for two
People. If you are a seafood lover, you should try chimney soup. You will love it. It has everything from crab, prawn, fish balls., meats and lots of veggies. This is also good for winter weather. Yo can seat and enjoy hot soup.
Pork is fabulous. Please try this.
I didn’t found any negative part. Everything was good. They will check your temperature. Covid protocol has been maintaining perfectly. Tables are very far from each other. Other services were good. Just keep in mind that dineout is not working here.
Awesome place. Recommend!!
We had attended the Anglo-Indian Sunday pop up lunch . It was quiet a treat. Absolutely amazing taste and hospitality of all the staffs. P.s. finished the dessert before taking a picture.

One of the oldest in town.
Visited for the first time , and I must say am totally in love with the food , specially the ice cream soda , was literally drooling over it.
And the old school Chinese vibe along with a Red coloured pretty Ambiance made my dinner sorted.
Had an absolutely stunning meal delivered to me. The steamed chicken momo was a delight. The filling was not dry and bland. And even without the sauce it tasted flavorful. The sauce they served with the dumpling was absolutely stunning. Not shocking the taste buds yet spicy enough to flavour the flour.
Also ordered a chicken bao. Which was sweet filling and tasty.
We ordered prawn with babycorn and mushroom, The size of the prawn was very very small. Normally that size is used in rice or chow but the taste was nice. However, for 500 plus price it is not justified. We also ordered chimney soup and chili pork both was nice. Staffs were extremely polite and very helpful. They also have the options to buy cold cuts, pickles, spice, etc. Overall a recommended place.
Smoked chilli potk is the best in this place. Pork chop was good too.
Great Chinese food, hosts and service add to the authentic experience.. also houses a great deli for some great pork products..
Great food. Owner is great. You get a variety of cheese, pickles and cold cut meat here. Highly recommended.
I would recommend everyone to try their apple pie and Singapore chili Crab.
Nice, quiet place. Good food.
Awesome food. Great ambiance. Service by staff needs some improving. Definitely recommend the place. Choose your order wisely here. Make sure you are aware of all the spices in the dish to have the best taste experience.
Good place to dine in.. Great chinese food
Some unique platters, warm service and top notch quality. Simple decors yet cozy enough considering the Cuisine. Reasonably priced, the Oriental menu have some unique platters like Soft Shelled Crabs. Easy to locate, it's a must must try.
We ordered fish ball chimney soup, mixed gravy noodles, shezwan mixed hakka noodles and roast chilli pork. Simply superb and We ate outta our skins literally. 1st time I have been here but will be back again sooner rather than later.
Absolutely outstanding food in a lively informal atmosphere. Prithvish is a magician with the food that he cooks.
We had
The chef special Chimney soup (half is enough for a group of 4)
Salt and pepper Calamari (yum!)
Mixed meefoon
Chicken Hakka noodles
Roast Chilli Pork (excellent)
Chicken with mustard greens (not the exact name)
Darsan (highly addictive)
Steamed Custard bao with icecream (a bit too sweet for our liking)
The food, overall, is really good. The service staff is extremely friendly and very accomodating (they took care with our dishes as one of our friends had allergies with seafood and mushroom).
An add on: they also sell various types of spices, condiments like chilli oil, pickles of - brinjal (eggplant) chicken, pork, etc.
Highly recommended!
Most of the dishes are superb, in particular the Chimney Soup. Choose with care and you will be well rewarded. There's also a little adjoining Deli where you can buy delectable Pork and Radish pickle.
