The staffs were very friendly and courteous. The ambience was really cool and appropriate as per their theme. The food was delicious. However a bit heavy on the pocket but then you don’t get to taste such awesome Biriyani everyday. Rann Biriyani and Awadhi Biriyani is what they are most famous for. Along with that we tried Ghost Nalli Kebab and it just melted in our mouth.
The ultimate Awadhi dining experience. The ambience is special. Biryani is amazing, so are the kebabs. The price is on the higher side but its worth. The waiters are also very amiable and courteous.
The environment is too good...services are good...food is no doubt good enough..
Very nice experience... lovely ambience n decor.. food was great... specially i like the dessert, shahi tukda...
Excellent, everything was full of satisfaction. Due to special day there was very crowded, we have to wait long time, that is not a matter, but for the aged persons there should be arrangent for their seating for minimum numbers.

If you want to experience a royal mughal dining then this place is perfect for you . Oudh 1590 is one of the unique themed restaurants in kolkata ,specially famous for their biryani.
In this pandemic situation they are maintaining all the safety measures , the ambience was cozy and calm.
Let's come to the food .
I ordered -
1. GALAWATI kebab : This tastes heavenly ,the mutton karma was to soft and melted in the mouth , totally worth the money .
2.Zafrani kebab : This also tastes good .
3. MURGH PARDAH BIRYANI : I loved this , this is a must try according to me.
Last but not the list
4. Phirni : This is a must try dessert .
Overall rating - 4/5
Food - 4.5 /5
Ambience - 4/5
Highly recommend!!
One of my fav place to dine in... amazing ambience soothing music .. rich feeling of the culture. Food tastes really good.. quality is really appreciatable.Pocket friendly great place for romantic dine out. I would love to visit again ..
We ordered 2 awadhi handi biriyani and 1 Gosht bhuna. Ambience is on a different level. The mughal aura all over the place will definitely spellbound you. Food was a pricy but tasted delicious. Both the items were very good and quantity was not bad too. Staff behaviour was quite friendly.
It is inside from main road..For outsider it is quite difficult to find this resturant..whatever it is well decorate and concept is mughal traditional.this is perfect place to hang out with friends and family also.
we have ordered
* GALWATI KEBAB
* HANDI CHICKEN BIRIYANI
* BUTTER NUN
* CHICKEN KOSSA.
Best place for real foodie.portions were tooo much. Galouti kabab was just fab.n fish zafrani kabab was also mouth watering. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The behavior of the staffs are appreciable..
Unlike the usual dine in experience the biriyani was dry and didn't have that great taste . The raita was excellent along with the kebabs
Awadhi biryani was damm tasty, firni too, packaging was awesome , authentic flavour ,shahi tukra was awesome but kind of I didn't like the taste of galauti kebab ,bit bitter in taste.
Awesome place for all foodies. I love this place.
The main usp of this place is it's quality, service and the atmosphere of this place. Surely one of the elites in Kolkata. Must try Biryanis and Mutton dishes are fantastic.
Oudh 1590 serves us with a very royal experience of dining both in terms of flavours of the food and the ambience aswell as decor of the place. The food is undoubtedly good but the price and the food quality & quantity doesn't really correspond to each other. As I feel it's a bit overpriced and over hyped .But all in all it's a great experience ✌️
Rann biryani is best biryani in kolkata .
Very royal ambience with an eye comforting amount of light inside the restaurant. Great food but very less for four people.
Biriyani is just awsome here
This Oudh is situated in Southern Avenue in South Kolkata.
The Oudh is famous for its Gelauti Kebab and the Awadhi Handi Biryani. We ordered Mutton Awadhi Handi Biryani and the Mutton Sahi Korma.
The taste was great. The portion was more than enough for two persons. The Sahi Korma was a bit sweetis dish and its recommended for who love less spicy side dishes.
The staffs were very courteous and the ambience as usual was great. A Biryani festival was also going on whose list is given where you can try various newer types of Biryani.
We really miss our occasional visits to restaurants and clicking pictures of steaming hot food at different angles!! One of the restaurants we really look forward to visiting after the situation improves is Oudh. Until then, all we can do is order from oudh.
We ordered:
Oudh special mutton Raan Biryani: Every time I visit oudh, I order this item. This time also it was no change. Succulent pieces of mutton paired aromatic rice , served in a earthen pot.
Ghost bhuna: Tender pieces of mutton cooked in a thick spicy tomato gravy. Goes well with the biryani.
Mutton Galawati kebab: A quite popular item of restaurant. I ordered this item on my every visit to this restaurant.
Murgh Sugandhi kebab: This item was the reason for mine not giving a 5 star. Huge pieces of kebab, hard & fibrous from inside, Absolutely not juicy & the flavor is also quite blunt.
Perfect place to dine out with your family. Ambience is so royal, classy and authentic quality of the food is also nice.
Highly recommended .
Extremely high standard cuisine, coupled with great restaurant atmosphere. Very courteous and happy staff. A real pleasure.
Excellent place to visit to! Loved the decor...please order yakhni chicken biriyani..its light with an awadhi taste..i never had such a good sahi tukda..phirni was as expected good...courteous staff! And don't worry about the hygiene! They are maintaining it top class!!
Oudh 1590 is a most popular awadhi restaurant at kolkata.
Food qualities and quantities are awesome.
Ambiance are also too good. Stuffs behaviour are so friendly.
Highly recommend.
Just loved their Murgh Sugandhi Biryani
Post Covid this is my first lunch in a restaurant and I must say Oudh 1590 has taken a number of precautions . We have ordered, Galawati Kebab, Zafrani Chicken kebab and Rann Biriyani. Galawati Kebab is still one of the finest dishes of Oudh. Rann Biriyani was also good . The mutton in biriyani were succulant and just melted in mouth. Zafrani chicken kebab has a different taste altogether. It was nice but it had one strong flavour which may not be appealing for everyone. Over all the lunch was very good .
The galauti kebabs were amazing. But biriyani did meet my expectations phirni was good though.
Located just opposite Kamala Girls School in Southern Avenue, Oudh 1590 is a top choice among casual diners. It is famous for its biryani, Mughlai, Awadhi cuisines, kebabs and beverage varieties. We went there on the festive occasion of Independence Day and had Chicken and Mutton Biriyani and Mutton Bhuna as side dish. Taste was good. Price is reasonable. Ambiance reminds you of the 16th century Lucknow Gharana. I would like to give them a rating of 4/5.
Ordered Biriyani from main course and chicken from the starter. Both the dish was very tasty. Will recommend this dish to everyone. Will visit soon
extremely delicious food.. "biriyani = oudh1590" for me.. in love with the taste.. 😍😍🤤🤤
Taking the changed reality into consideration, restaurants are now rethinking their business model to keep themselves afloat post-lockdown. I was hunting for places who are implementing sanitization measures properly until I stumbled upon the much-popular Oudh 1590. I must say that my dine-in experience was overwhelming.
I have jotted down the new measures which Oudh is following:
Step 1: Infrared temperature scan and shoe sanitization
Step 2: Online menu that can be accessed through mobiles. (Even though we found menus displayed at the table)
Step 3: Extra charges for sealed disposable plates, spoons and glasses.
Step 4: Table placements keeping social distancing in mind
Step 5: Sanitisers on all tables.
Step 6: All staffs wearing mask, head cover and gloves.
Step 7: Self service after eating.
Step 8: In order to reduce touchpoints, they're now giving a candy and a toothpick in a ziplock sachet instead of the regular mouth freshner.
All these post-lockdown strategies will surely enhance customer satisfaction and reinstate trust among their patrons. Thank you Oudh for giving the confidence to come back.
In frame: Oudh Special Raan Biriyani
Murgh Irani
Chicken Afgani kabab
Phirni
Well Oudh 1590 naam to sunahi hoga!! My all time favourite restaurant. Four dishes are like my personal favorite trust me foodie you will definitely fall in love. Do visit there , there ambience was amazing, essence of Mughal zamana, tune of gazals took my heart.
Each and every dish is mouthwatering, well cooked, served in good portion size and yes the money for each dish is worth it, because Oudh 1590 will never gonna compromise there essence, quality.
Service was extremely good. Highly recommended to visit here.
One of the bestest place for a Mughal Biryani👌💯The inner decorations are marvelous and the food can be enough for a group of people 2 or 3😊😊😊
My yearning for Oudh 1590 goes years back since learning about it. This was my first visit( Deshapriya Park). The location is accessible and prime. The decor is the first thing that you will notice. You will get a very Awadhi feeling about it. Again the sanitization protocol was very thorough. The decor will also add to the sense of a Moghul feeling about the whole experience. We ordered Rann biriyani, Afghani Kebab, Murgh Irani and firni.
Rann Biriyani- The presentation of the preparation was very classic, in a handi. The taste was very light and the mutton inside was very tender. Though i dont eat mutton but this one i enjoyed.
Afghani Kebab- The kebab was well done and the smoky flavour was also very subtle and juicy.
Murgh Irani- The portion was very hefty, the gravy was even after a long time I did feel that i had a different kind of chicken preparation.
Firni- The dessert was actually the perfect icing on the cake. Its not very sweet yet gives an apt finishing touch to your meal.
Overall exp- Its very rare to see an establishment living upto its mark. My experience was really what i expected and hope to visit soon again. Keep up the great work.

Food from Oudh doesn't really need any review, cause they do maintain their legacy in every possible way. Still I will share my experience about their food but before that, I want to talk about something else. I am highly satisfied with their sincerity and the safety measures they took, in this pandemic situation. Firstly the packaging was very solid, secondly they checked and mentioned body temperatures of the Chef, the packer and the delivery boy on the package I got, to assure their customer their safety. That truly amazed me. They even provided a small pouch of hand sanitizer into my package, which was a very generous gesture in this situation I felt.
Now coming to the food, I ordered
1. Mutton Galawati Kebab
2. Awadhi Special rann Biryani
3. Firni.
I loved every item. Everything was so perfect ♥️. That kebab was just heavenly, it melts in mouth. And the perfect amount of spices made that a wonderful moment.
Only Oudh can satisfy you even with a alooless biryani 😂. That thing was so perfect that I never felt I need something else with this. There was raita, again, only in case of Oudh I eat raita with biryani and I love that ♥️
And the Firni closed the curtain with a super swag 💕♥️
Thank you so much for this lovely experience ♥️
The Galothi Kabab is a must try. The ambience is just beautiful. The staff were so polite and courteous. The firbi was so tasty.😍. Extremely good place. If someone is planning for dinner just visit once. Thank me later 😄
Great food and comfortable area of seating 😊😇..
Delicious Biriyani with a great packaging. Pure flavors in your mouth. Just the potato missing! Must try for everyone. Great Delicacy. Loved it absolutely!
Oudh's food and ambience are a class apart. Like the Desapriya outlet more than the Vivekananda park one. Have had their mutton moti Biriyani, chicken Biriyani, galouti kebab, Phirni. Overall a must visit
Oudh 1590. What can we say about this place? Everyone in Kolkata, either has visited this place or are willing to visit this place for the mouth watering and authentic Royal Mughal food they serve.
We visited the Southern Avenue branch. The decor is amazing with dim lights and Mughal decors along eith Hindustani music playing in the background. The staff is very courteous.
We had ordered Rann Biryani (serves 2) - Rs.425/-
This authentic Awadhi biryani is served in an earthen pot. The shredded mutton pieces are cooked with rice.. The mutton was really soft and the rice was perfectly cooked. The aroma of the dish was heavenly.
We had also ordered Galawati kabab (4pieces) - Rs.350/- It's a mutton paste mixed with special Awadhi spices. The kabab was very soft, and it melts in your mouth.
Raita was complimentary with the dishes we ordered. .
Have you visited the place yet?

One of a kind restaurants in Kolkata which serve close to authentic Awadhi cuisine. Definitely order their Rann Biryani if you visit. The meat pieces are so so tender that they almost fall apart. Served with pickles and raita. All their kebabs are great as starters. Love their lemon masala soda as well.
Good service, great ambiance. Haven't had any complains till date.
Beautiful interior and exterior comes with courteous staff and service was on top. This was our second outing at Oudh 1590, earlier we were at the saltlake branch.
Coming to the food:- We ordered
1. Awadhi Handi Biryani
2. Murgh Pardah Biryani
3. Shahi Tukra.
Looking forward to visit again.
Really improved taste. Packing was top notch.
This place serves the authentic biryani which tastes great.
If you want to get a "Moghal " feeling, you can. But not to try it during durga puja...
We ordered food from here amidst this lockdown on one of my friends birthday and to our expectation the experience went well! We ordered Awadhi Handi Mutton Biriyani, Oudh Special Raan Biriyani and Kolkata Chicken Biriyani. The Awadhi Handi Mutton was good in taste, slightly like Kolkata mutton biryani with the perfect mixture of spices and with egg. Kolkata style chicken Biriyani was very basic with a huge sized chicken breast which was soft and succulent. The Awadhi Biriyani had 2 pieces of mutton inside it which was extremely juicy and tender!
But the items that stole the show was Oudh Special Raan Biriyani which was served in a big Handi with ample quantity of rice and mutton with 6-7 pieces. It tasted excellent with the perfect mixture of spices and had the most amazing aroma. No doubt it is difficult to get Biriyani like that!!
Eagerly waiting to visit this outlet soon!!
This restaurant decoration is awesome.feel like mughal empire..cost of the dishes is too much high.quantity of dishes which they are served is extremely high..one dish will be finished by 2 people.large dishes.. extremely well decorated..and their equipment are traditional look like this. Lovely place it's also family restaurant.must visit at a time.
Nice decoration but biriyani is not upto the mark
We visited there on 14th February. This outlet was quite less crowded. When we enter there, the Mughal atmosphere and the slow music bring calmness inside my heart. I have never seen such a perfect atmosphere in real.
The staffs were very helpful and humble.
Now let's talk about food. As the atmosphere indicated the typical Mughal atmosphere, so Biriyani is the ultimate choice.
We ordered Aam Khaas, Galawati Kabab, Awadhi Handi Biriyani.
• Aam Khaas : A perfect refreshing drink with green mango flavour. Those who love mango, should try this. It had a little Masala with sweet and sour taste, which made it even more perfect.
• Galawati Kabab : I am quite dissatisfied with this dish. It had mashed mutton and too much spice.
• Awadhi Handi Biriyani : I have never taste before such a perfect Biriyani! I don't know how to describe it. One handi is enough for two people. One Handi contains two medium soft pieces of Mutton and two Egg. They don't put any 'Aloo' or potato in their biriyani. So 'biriyani aloo lovers' will be disappointed with this. But this biriyani will not let you regret. Everything is so perfect about this biriyani that I have no words to describe it properly. THE BEST BIRIYANI AT ALL!!❤️
Nothing more.. all packed...
wanted to visit this place for soooo long.
finally got the chance on my parents 25th anniversary.
the ambience was too good to describe.
abd the food needs no introduction.
we ordered-
1. Raan Biriyani - full with small tender juicy pieces of mutton, aromatic long rice. That tastes heavenly
2. Murgh Musallam - basically serves the full chicken in 8 pieces. little sweet in taste. better goes with naan as per my guess.
3. Gosht Bhuna - 4 pieces of mutton made with perfect mixture of spices. bit spicy but tastes awesome. mutton pieces are so tender and succulent that one don't have to put much effort to chew.
4. Mutton Awadhi biriyani - this contains 2 good pieces of muttons, 1 egg and 1 aloo.
food tastes beyond expectations. first experience was so good that i want to visit the place again and again. quantity was enough for 4 people.
staffs were so polite , well behaved and courteous.
My overall experience was nice.
Had been craving for galauti kebabs for a few days now. Finally decided to order today and wasn't disappointed. Although it's not as great as the Tunday kebabis of Lucknow, it's still awesome that we get the taste n texture of this delicacy here in Kolkata. The kebabs were soft n melt in the mouth. The parantha could've been a bit better. Even shahi tukda was smooth n creamy. Simply loved it.
Best platter is biryani ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Visited this restaurant twice—once during Puja and another on a regular day. While the prices lean towards the higher side, the portion size is typically sufficient for two people on regular days. However, during Puja, I noticed a reduction in quantity, which left me a bit disappointed.
A noteworthy aspect is their biryani, which doesn't include aloo (potatoes).Despite the price and quantity fluctuations, the overall dining experience was good.
This was our first time at the Southern Avenue outlet and to say the least it was as good as the other outlet near Deshapriya park if not more. The staffs were very cooperative and would attend our needs at the earliest. They were very attentive to the orders and would serve them very quickly. They even recommended the quantity we should take and it was quite accurate.
Now coming on to the ambience we absolutely got the feel that we were at a Nawabi palace with the music and the interior decoration amplifying the feel. One thing I didn't like was the advertisement screen which was anyway not going with the interiors and was quite irritating at times.
The things we ordered,
1. Mutton Galouti kebab (4.5/5)
2. Lucknowi Paratha (4/5)
3. Gosht Handi Biryani (3.5/5)
4. Chicken Shahi Korma (4/5)
5. Mutton bhuna (3.5/5)
6. Phirni (4/5)
7. Shahi Tukra (4.5/5)
You definitely go for lunch or dinner and it would not disappoint. Just one recommendation though, please go for the dine-in experience rather than delivery. The ambience elevates the experience.
Love this place and food. This place will make you feel like you are in royal place. Foods are awesome. I am vegetarian so I tried biryani with paneer tikka gravy and raita .
Price If bit high but quality and quantity is good
The ambience is really good. The interiors make it a perfect place to click pictures. We ordered Lucknow paratha and galouti kabab. I didn't like it much. It's because I don't like dry items. Also I tasted biryani from my friends. Even that I felt dry. Maybe few people will like it. But those who can't eat dry items will not like it that much.
This outlet of Oudh is small but it is really a good place with limited seating arrangement. The ambience is nice and food quality is also great. Their service is also good.
The only complaint is the washroom. There is only one washroom to be used by both men and women, and no other place to wash hands.
Well, it's crowded most of the time, so I would advise you too reserve tables, before you visit, especially if you are visiting with a huge group. The ambience is very rich and vibrant and will give you the feel of a Palace somewhere near Rajasthan. The food is really tasty, although a bit expensive.
A good restaurant to go with friends and family, for enjoy dinner or lunch in budget friendly menu. But if you go I would suggest to go with minimum 4+ people because then u can have a good place of seat and a very good atmosphere.
'Oudh 1590', the high-end fine dining outlet offering the rich cuisine of Oudh (Lucknow as it is known today), aims at creating a reflection of the royal banquets of Awadh which were famous for their high standards of gastronomical etiquette.
Excellent ambiance,🥰
finger licking good Biriyani,😋
out of the world soft mutton, brilliant service and smooth operations are a few things that describes this place. Besides the servings in brass utensils makes the experience even more unique. For the price, it is really value for money and the experience was really wonderful. ❤️
The service was commendable even in such a rush and we were attended to with much care. Love it!
A must visit and highly recommended place for weekends and family outings.
Food quality is good and ambience is amazing. The pictures of nawabs and the status in front of main door and cherry on the cake was all-time favourite thumri and dadra of Begum Akhtar ji as background.
Washrooms and wash basin need improvisation because there's only one restroom for 1st floor area
An amazing meal so well priced for such a fancy ambience
Starters:
Fish tikka
Mutton Galawti kabab with paratha
Mains:
Nalli Nihari
Bhuna Gosht
Gosht Metiabruz Biryani (kolkata style)
Awadhi handi biryani (Lucknowi style)
Irani Jhinga Masala
Prompt and attentive service!
Good for a dine in “moghlai” experience in Kolkata
No alcohol though
Staff behaviour and ambience good, but food quality was not so good

Price is on the higher side, but justified by taste and of course ambience. The biryani is good but not as good as Dada Boudi or Arsalan. The side dish quantity is average.
I have just recently visited this place with my family . The ambience and food both were simply awesome . I loved their service . We tried the rann biriyani , chicken sheek kabab, zafrani kabab, galauti kabab and tandoori chicken along with one chicken side dish and parathas . The food was extremely good . A must recommended place for all awadhi food lovers
As usual Ourh never fails to impress you. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and great ambience.
The interior is unique and the background classic awadhi music makes it really satisfying.
Do not miss the Galwati Kebab there.
Beautiful ambience but waiting time killed it. We had to wait almost an hour to get a table on weekend. They close by 3.30pm so make sure you reach bit early or they don’t even take down names for waiting also around 3pm. Food was quite good. We tried Mutton Galawati Kebab along with paratha which was really tasty and soft. The kebabs were very juicy and good in taste. We then had Murgh Metiabruz Biryani and Awadhi Handi Biryani (Mutton) . Biryanis was okay .. We had bit more expectations. We didn’t like the Nalli Nehari but Chicken Kassa was good. Overall a good experience.
Authentic mughlai awadi foods served good taste at reasonable prices with an old world themed ambience.
Update on 18th June 2023 galawati Kebab excellent with parantha and portion size of biryani also adequate however the biryani has become more spicy with chili eRlierit used to be a bit milder which was way better and savory.
Last night enjoyed being at Oudh 1590.
From the Ambiance to food every bit of this place reminds you the legacy of Nawabs.
With every bite of your food you experience its rich & royal taste of Awadhi cuisine.
Oudh 1590 is truly - period- dining - experience ❤️

This outlet of Oudh is located beside carmel primary school. this is is small compared to its other outlet still can easly accommodate 50 people aprox .The ambience of this place is a bliss to your eyes.Totally awadhi style wall decors along with paintings of rajas and bai 's. They serves the foods in brass crockeries which will give you a true essence of awadhi cuisine! I ordered
*Galawati Kababs -4pieces - its a mutton paste cooked with various awadhi spices and grilled

The galawati kababs were well accomplished by those parathas...perfect combination .its a treat to your tastebuds
