I have visited 8th day cafe many times with friends, its a good place to spend time with friends and family, we have order cold chocolate, it was too yummy, if you are a vegan then you can try their vegan items.
Just stepped into this cafe while going somewhere else. Would love to visit again.
But I must say, the oreo shake is heaven in 8th say cafe!
This place is always very overcrowded could be because its located in one of the posh areas in town. The prices are average so is the savoury dishes. I would revisit for the oatmeal biscuits and hot chocolate and the out door seating
Great place for some quality time with yourself or with friends or family. Great books are also available over there. One of the cosiest cafes in kolkata.
They serve great coffee. And with a view of Vivekananda Park infront of you it's a great place to be in a winter evening.
Had an amazingly delicious Quiche at the Southern Avenue 8th Day Cafe. Though my Cucumber Lemonade was oversweetened, I am going back to try out a few more items.
It was a great experience at this outlet of 8th day cafe and bakery. From food to ambience, hella everything was amazing. BBQ ranch chicken wrap and the omlette with cheese and mushroom along with bagles is a must try from this cute American styled cafe. Also had their hot chocolate and mint mojito. Worth spending your evening here.
They serve really huge cups of hot chocolate. Its fantastic and warm .
Awesome friendly service. Hot chocolate is so tasty and yum... Plus they've got some amazing cupcakes and cookies... Loved it overall.... Good vibe in the cafe... Perfect example of the coffee shops we read in books.

Love this place everytime I go there. The red velvet shake is too good. The vibes of this place is so positive.
The focacia double decker is awesome, cannot ask for more. The south west hummus wrap is excellent too. The menu constitutes a nice balance of taste and health. I am one hell of a satisfied customer, having frequented the Arcadia mall location since its inception. The operations at the Vivekananda road location look pretty efficient to me in spite of the heavy crowd during evenings. Best sandwich and coffee in the city of joy. One more location between park street and Elgin closer to the metro stations.--Proj Ghosh
O I love this place. I had fallen in love with this place the very moment I had entered. Last week I visited there. The decor is so soothing and perfectly done that you'll fall for it. We have ordered a hot chocolate, a lime mojito and Aunty Kay's chocolate chunk cookies 🍪 the hot chocolate was yum.. Cookies are also salivating. Love their hospitality, the crowd. Highly recommended.
Cafes that serve good coffee are so important. And if that cafe has good ambience, it just gets better. I had one of the best coffees I've had till date. We had ordered red velvet cake which was average. But the item that makes me give "cookie points" to this place, is the Auntie Kay's Cookie. It is such a delicious one, I'm definitely getting back to taste more of it. Also, the soft soothing music makes up for a peaceful cozy corner in the hustle bustle of the city. If you're a person who loves reading with winter sunshine touching your face while having a good cup of coffee , this is the place you need.
Amazing place with elegant decorations. The food and ambiance of this place is really good. The behaviour of the staffs are also nice. There are also some board games available there.
This place is in southern avenue near Vivekananda Park, this place is a Cafe & Bakery in Jatin Bagchi road..we were 2 of them and we went there to enjoy the breakfast. we ordered egg sandwich, veggie egg scrambler & quiche which was good to taste. Prices were on a higher side, service was good and the staff behaviour was polite. would like to give a second visit to this place.
Have had the best cup of coffee here. My new go to place for my caffeine fix!!
I went there for breakfast recently. Located opp to the vivekananda park. I love the ambiance of this place. Without outdoor as well indoor seating available. I loved the ambiance. The staffs are well trained and polite.
I had a coffee and sandwich. I really loved the taste of it. Would be visiting again
Recently I've been there with my friend.. You can sit outside in a rainy or any winter evening.. They serve you with the best quality coffee.. I recommend this place to visit..
Location: 10 minutes walking distance from Triangular Park.
Ambience: This place has a feel-good vibe with large glass windows allowing in natural light in, chic, minimalistic decor and warm lighting.
Food: I dropped in here for a lengthy chat with a friend over coffee. We ordered-
NITRO COLD BREW(4/5)- It is totally worth the hype. Have it black, with a cinnamon roll or cupcake on the side and you'll be good to go.
HOT CHOCOLATE (4/5)- An 8th Day classic. A little too sweet for my palate but very rich and hearty.
Service: The staff is extremely courteous.
Pricing: Reasonable.
Verdict: I've been to the Park Circus outlet twice already and I've always had a good experience. This outlet is at par with the flagship one at Park Circus. Definitely recommended.
I visited this cafe today. I had a pity good experience. We ordered cappuccino, omelette and a Choco chip cookie. The cookie was under the favourites but was not up to my expectations
Ambience- 3.5/5
Service- 4/5
Food- 4/5
Ambience- could Have been more presentable. But the good part was that the cafe reminded me of a cafe which I visited in Paris
Food- the vegeies in the omelette should have been cut in brunoise size. The size was little big. The coffee was not very hot as it should be. The taste of the food was good
Service- could have been more professional
Overall- 4/5
It is a one time visit.
Elegant decor and and uplifting ambience, went there with a friend few days back and ordered the hot chocolate 😍 😍and chicken quiche❤ , loved both!
This place is a must visit !🥰
8th Day Café and Bakery is a relaxed and laid back American style bakery right here in the heart of Kolkata. The cafe is one of its kind in the city brings to you some of the finest bagels and brews. Breakfast started with packs of protein combined with chocolate cards and finished with caffeine kick. Cheat day, huh?
Hot Chocolate in the cafe is prepared with house-made chocolate ganaché and steamed milk. One of the best available in the city, perfectly goes with the rain or winter. This was accompanied by Grant’s Sandwich. A whole-wheat bagel sandwich packed with protein that comes packed with eggs, chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese and mayonnaise. Sandwich was very dry but very less mayo. The breakfast concluded with Nitro Cold Brew, a chilled creamy beverage, infused with nitrogen. The cold brew is a medium-roast coffee steeped in water for 24 hours. The brew once infused with nitrogen, it comes out frothy, with a wonderful creamy-velvety texture. This is pretty high in caffeine yet gives a mellow and smoother cup.
Bro Tip: Nitro Cold Brew must drink it black without sugar if you want to get the best flavour out of it.
This one is situated just opposite to the Vivekananda Park... The best thing which captured my eyes were doodles on the wall and their cozy sitting arrangements... We had Cold chocolate, hand brewed iced coffee and the break up brownie with ice cream... The brownie were soo good that it was melting in my mouth... And the staffs over there were very polite and attentive... In all together it's a very good experience... A big thumbs up for this cafe...
Loved it !! Ordered cinnamon rolls, southwest salad and pesto chicken wrap.
Loved every bite !
Polite staff.
Will hang out here more often.
8th Day is a nice little cafe in Southern Avenue. We went there for brunch and were very hungry by the time we ended up ordering.
And man, is the food awesome. We ordered the chicken wrap and the west range omelette, and thoroughly enjoyed both. Almost wonder why omelette with grilled chicken is not a regular thing at every cafe! We downed all of this with some great french pressed coffee.
I have been to the other outlet in Kolkata as well, and must say this is going to be my go-to cafe on future visits.
Best of luck to Grant (the owner, who also has a sandwich named after him!) and the rest of the team.
First things first, this is one of the very cafes in Kolkata that offer you to smoke and sip on your big mug of Butter Coffee AKA Bullet Coffee (Keto lovers will relate) or maybe a tall glass of Ice Tea, while you sit outdoors in one of their beautifully cosy table. If you go inside, you can see a beautiful German coffee roasting machine intensifying the charm of the minimalist and sophisticated cafe decor. Now to speak of con(s), the prices are a bit too high; 3 out of 5 times the service is usually slow (but then again, maybe because I have always taken the outside table and the staffs are mostly catering to the customers inside). On ending it, the food is really good here and worth the price (maybe).
Whenever I am in the city, this is my home away from home. It is unpretentious and comfortable. It’s a place to hang out with friends, to meet those writing deadlines while having an unlimited supply of pour overs, to connect with the staff and get to know their life-stories, to make new friends. All over a cupcake, a slice of pie, a customised focaccia, and excellent coffee. Reach out, and they will take care of you!
A very aesthetic place to begin with. Elegant and chic ambience are the words that come to my mind while describing the place. Perfect for a coffee and a snack break. The coffee is so good here. Coffee addicts would love this place. The sweet hazelnut latte is a must try!
So this place is serving authentic flavours of coffee..The prices are on the higher side but it is worth it..We ordered mocha and cold chocolate..both tasted perfect..i personally loved this place..good ambience..
Just opposite to Vivekananda park , if you need to mellow out in a simple cosy cafe check out this place.
Ordered-
Cappuccino - 9/10 Cappuccino always has my heart!
Signature cinnamon roll- 10/10 you should try this one Outta here . Recommended.
Bagel- 8.5/10 It was of our choice and we added cheese some veggies and spreads . Well not bad overall good but not something too overwhelming.
You can surely just check in to have a good nice coffee date with your friends or your loved ones.
I had a cappuccino and an omelette bagel. Cappuccino was cold under all that froth and the bagel was tough to chew into. Ambience is great , service is cheerful albeit a little bit too cheerful because they kept on giggling and laughing amongst themselves and the customers had to wait for them to stop and then order.
Ambience - 4/5
Taste - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Note : I do return there quiet frequently for a quick breakfast. Some days they serve hot and delicious some days just as I described. Hence quiet unpredictable. There has been some change and hence I have changed my review. After that one experience, all my other visits have been excellent. Guess I just caught them at an off
We reached this place at around 8:00 but it was still quite full and there were only 2 vacant tables inside. We ordered a Breakup Brownie and a Hot Chocolate. The brownie had a thick upper coating which was garnished with powdered sugar. Beneath it, the brownie was soft and sweet. The hot chocolate was easily the best I've ever had. Not too thick or too grainy, it was the perfect blend.
They took around 10 minutes to serve us. The staff is very polite, courteous, and responsible. One of the guests from the next table had left her purse and they ensured that it was returned to her within the next 30 minutes.
The cafe has a modern vibe to it ! If you're looking for a place to sit quietly and work this should be on top of your wish list. It's a perfect place to reunite with your pals. Coming to the menu we tried the southwestern salad with chicken . Both quality and quantity was top knotch . The menu is healthy and fresh. !
This outlet of 8th Day is even better than the other one. I visited this place on a rainy afternoon with my friends after we were already done eating at a restaurant and got into this place hurriedly to escape from the downpour. It was a very pretty little place (although big compared to the other outlet) and the staff were really polite and friendly.
We had Chicken Caeser Salad which tasted quite fresh and good. We also had cappuccino which was pretty refreshing. I enjoyed an unexpected and fun filled rainy afternoon at this beautiful cafe with some good country music playing at the back and some rather hospitable staff. 5 stars!
Summer evening, university over, needed coffee....
we didn’t want to have alcohol that evening and were craving for coffee and then we have reached our destination. I love the place as it’s very cozy and homey and I really get a movie like feel there. We love all those foods and they taste very authentic. But all my hearts went for the cold brew. The best cold brew in the town though the portion was quite less. Overall it was very nice evening.
So me and my friend went to this cafe situated just opposite to Vivekananda Park to just have some quick bites. This is a warm and cozy cafe decorated quite beautifully, and the staffs are quite welcoming with a bright smile on their face. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the baked cookies and cakes, makes the cafe smell wonderful. They do have a number of games to play with your friends in the cafe starting with cards, then board games and much more.
Since we weren't quite hungry that time, we ordered small amount of food and they recommended us to try out their Red Velvet Shake, and indeed, I must agree it was just amazing. The thick red velvet shake made with their in house baked red velvet cakes, makes it all the more delicious. Their barbeque ranch chicken wrap was also very good.
As the evening sets in, many people actually visit this place and they also have an outdoor seating arrangement for their customers.
All in all, I loved this place and I would love to visit this beautiful cafe again to try out more signature dishes of theirs. ❤️
This is a great coffee shop with a pleasing ambience but the price is a bit on the higher side. The quality of the food, the beverages and the cookies is really appreciating.
One of the best and prestigious looking cafe in kolkata. Its not a cheap place but yes it's worth visiting place with games and offcouse good coffee and good food.It had a very good ambience and overall a great place.
Standing tall just beside Vivekananda Park, the cafe will definitely attract attention of any passerby with its catchy appearance. There is a seating arena just at the external part of the cafe. The inner part is quiet intetestingly done with minimalist decoration and bright lighting arrangement. This cafe has very good collection of bakery as well as bevrages. Food quality and portion size are decent, though the quality of the wraps may be improved. Overall, it's a nice cafe.
A good calm place for coffee date. The food was not for Indian taste. Coffee was good and ambience was very pleasant. Staffs were also very good at behaviour.
An absolute go to place for coffee connoisseurs . The coffee is smooth and of great flavor . The quiche was good but the other snacks are better. Aunty Annie's chocolate chunk cookies is to die for . It is very sweet though and do order in moderation. I would like if their cinnamon rolls are a little better because I have tried it at other places . The staff is very sweet, prompt and courteous. Usually this place remains full but must visit at earliest .
Ritam Ganguly
Nice ambience, excellent food, affordable prices. This place is perfect for hangout and adda. I would highly recommend their Quiche which is perhaps the best in town. Personally I prefer this branch over the Park Street branch.
Near Vivekananda Park I love this cafe environment and ambience no doubt good lighting and decoration very nice variety of of cakes and coffee e available this cafe I specially love this cold coffee red velvet cake cheese omelette and sandwich all experience very nice❤💙❤💙❤💙❤
I thought it would be a very expensive place but prices are very reasonable. Food is good and coffee is exceptional. The view is good as well.
8th day in Arcadia has been my go to coffee shop in Kolkata since 2016; their second outlet is more airy and better planned! Kudos to team 8th day and Mr. Grant! Hope to see many more outlets soon! But I still love the park circus outlet the most!
Tried
Lemongrass green tea

Situated near Vivekananda park of Southern Avenue. Ambience is nice. Food quality is good. Staffs are cordial and courteous. Grant's sandwich is good.
The place is really quiet and calm. It is really nice. The ambience is really good. The food is good,I loved the red velvet smoothie. The apple pie and chicken Ceaser salad is really delicious.
The place has a good vibe. Located just next to Vivekananda Park and the sitting arrangements are really nice. Coming to food, the quiche was delicious and the chocolate shake was one of the best I had. Service is also friendly.
This was my first visit to this Cafe and I must say I am totally impressed with everything.. the moment I stepped in I has in my mind that this cafe has a foreign touch, the indoor decor, the chair and tables are all a little different when compared to the common cafes.. well my hunch proved correct when I got to know the owner of this place is a ln American.
Now coming to the food: we ate Cinnamon rolls and a chicken caesar salad wrap and both tasted great! One big plus point is the serving speed. They are very prompt when it comes to serving the order.
The staffs are very well behaved & courteous. I loved the place and would visit again soon...
The ambience is lovely whether you brave the heat and sit outside or enjoy the best of Southern Avenue from within. Polite, friendly and helpful staff definitely add to the experience at The 8th Day. The buckeye shake is a must-try!
Just fantastic! It's what a cafe is meant to be,niche, simple and the highlight being Great coffee.
What Artigano is in the Uk, 8th day is its worthy doppleganger in Kolkata. Tried the omlette with cheddar, delicious. Both the chef and the skillet needs a praise.
Must try: Latte, espresso and the chamomile for tea lovers.
A chilled out place, has good vibes, like a hobbithole. The service is quick and the food feels fresh. Loved their cinnamon rolls! Must try.
The wraps nd sandwhich were also good, but can be improved, pricing is a bit on the higher side given the location. Can be tried out if you are in the area, and looking for good cafes and have some quick bucks to spare.
Visited this place last week with my girlfriend. The ambience is perfect for carrying out long conversations over a cup of tea/coffee.
I personally would recommend the apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Nice ambience
Very polite and courteous staff.
The cold chocolate was very refreshing, but the brownie was a little less-fudgy.
Hope to visit again.
This cafe is another feather in the crown of southern avenue. A small sized outlet that serves a handful of crafted foods and brews and caters to a niche of gastronome. If you lack a taste of all the good things in life, do not ever visit this place; this might disappoint you. The place knows how to blend class with performance and never trades elegance for cheapness. We had a pot of pour over with West Range Omlette, Lemon Drop cookie and BBQ Chicken Wrap. Later we had Autumn Crescendo and Earl Grey as our choice of tea. The only scope of betterment for this place would be to widen its range of platters and make the tea with as much care as they do for their coffees. I will reserve the one star till that time.
This place is absolutely beautiful!
It has comfortable wooden chairs and tables which give it a class!
Ambiance is perfect for having a good day with a cup of tea or coffee
Their bakery section is too good I must say!
I tried their Choco chips cookies and a pesto chicken sandwich which was too good.
The sandwich was terribly good..
And guess what their price rate is so reasonable.
I just loved this place!
If you want to have a good tea day with some excellent bakeries then do hit this place!
I absolutely love everything about this place. The good, the coffee, the decor, the service, everything is extremely good. The array of board games and books is such a plus. The ice cream sandwich deserves special mention since its my favorite item they serve.
Absolutely no complaints. Frequent visitor.
They have the most delicious cookies! Perfect place to sit with a cuppa and a snack and rewind after a hectic day or to catch up with friends. Very clean, open and hygienic.
Nice cosy ambience courteous staffs. The aroma of coffe is awesome inside the cafe. One og the best cafe in Kolkata serving real taste and perfect blend if variety of coffee
Went there today ....... Nice and cozzey ambience...... Tried their Grant's Sandwiche and Nitro Cafe...... Nice friendly service..... Menu is interesting and pocket friendly..... They also have a open air seating are......
It serves the best coffee in Kolkata and has a different ambience and cookies and pastry are so tasty.follow @tourde_food for more such reviews on Instagram
A lovely place to spend some “me” time or hang with friends. Fantastic coffee, great cookies and bagels make for happiness. If you like coffee as much as I do check this place out sooner rather than later.
Had heard a lot about this place and so finally dropped by here ! Well got to indulge in a delicious cup of fine coffee while immersing myself in a nice & cozy ambience. This is a perfect place to enjoy all-day breakfast as well.
The menu is quite interesting and such good options which you will love for sure if you happen to be a coffee lover! The food options are also quite good . Well had a good time here and not to forget the staff was friendly and service was good.
They have multiple branches all over Kolkata and we went to the Gariahat one. The place is not big but the servers are very welcoming and helpful. There is an outdoor seating area as well. We had ordered frappe and one 8th day special coffee, they were good. In food we ordered falafal tacos, extremely tasty and a must try I would say. We took bagel sandwich as well which was not that great. Overall a good experience. One note: People do sit there with their laptop and even if they are alone they occupy a four seater. The management should look into it as sort it out.
Excellent place to have your breakfast.
Just go and visit the place is really happening with some good quality breakfast served.
Also loved the personal care done while ordering of food and leaving the place.
Also their coffee tasted awesome.
This is near lake kalibari just beside the Banana Leaf. Food is really good and tasty. We ordered shakshuka, garlic bread, cappuccino, honey and banana waffle
Nice and cosy place. Food quality is average. The quality of coffee is not up to the mark. All the staff are humble and friendly. You have to wait in rush hour. They accept off and on line payment. According to me it's an average coffee shop.
Had apple pie ( cupcacke shaped) and simple cuppaccino .....the cuppacinno was expensive around 200rs ,apple pie 120rs ....apple pie was good but expected bigger slice of pie ...seating arrangement was good (in AC) and outside without AC with smoking ....it becomes crowded in the evening ,had to wait for some time before we could get seat
It’s a great cafe to hangout with friends and family.
The food tastes delicious.
They brew their own coffee.
Must try their hot chocolate, it’s the best.
The price is average.
The service is okay and the staff is courteous and polite.
The decor and ambiance is nice.
You can also buy candles, fridge magnets etc. as mementos.
This is a very nice place near Gariahat. I have been there for a small brunch and stuffs were very friendly. Although I knew the food was really great but somehow I didn't like the taste of cheese omlet. Hopefully I have liked the coffee over there. I'll definitely visiting the place again. The atmosphere is really nice and the location is good too. They have many different options as well which I would love to try in future.
One of the best coffees available in CCU. Their sandwiches are good too.
Just another average Café in Southern Avenue. Nothing much to write home about. Coffee is below average (had a pour over which was way over extracted and not suited to using for a pourover)
The cinnamon roll was a sugar bomb. Overly sweet with a thick layer/glaze of icing sugar.
The Chicken and Brocolli Quiché was more a pie. Not bad.
The whole wheat bagel was excellent though and highly recommended.
Pricing is reasonable. Just wish the food/coffee was better.
The location is really nice and the ambience of the restaurant has a cool vibe. They have outside sitting option so it is a good thing for smokers and people coming with their pets 🐶🐕. We ordered cappuccino and lemongrass t. Both were really nice and the quantity is also sufficient. However the falafel Baghel was not up to the mark and we did not like it 😔. They have a lot of indoor games like scrabble thumbola cards etc.
Had a very nice lunch here. A delicious simple latte and a breakfast fry. The only downside was the chicken sausage(x2) in the fry, they weren't very nice and they were dry. Everything else was top notch and I'd come here again!
It's a beautiful cafe to spend some quality time together with beautiful dishes🥰.Behaviour of staffs are very good.Nice ambient at all.
The place is amazing to spend some quality time with friends and family. We ordered one Oreo Shakes and one Velvet Shakes and both tasted good. Outside sittings are also available.
While the Patisserie items were good and so were the coffee and shakes, shakshouka was a total disaster. We were delighted to see it look great, better than most of the authentic ones I've tried before. But the taste was such a letdown that I couldn't get myself to try any other cooked item. It tasted like masala bhaji. The cafe itself is good. The ambiance is that of any typical cafe. They do brew from coffee beans if that's your thing.
Today me and my granny going for outing and we are hungry that time, we saw this cafe so
We ordered
2 ice latte and 1 BBQ chicken wrap
Ice latte is good but the BBQ wrap is very hard bite is very hard ... But when i order some pizza they just told me that pizza not so good we are not making good pizza this is very disappointed for me
Rest of good
As a coffee lover the Hand brewed iced coffee , turned out to be a hit for me... accompanied with the tortilla . The tea that we had also ordered was superb as 1st flush are supposed to be like. The overall ambience was good . Liked the cafe. Neat and clean. Well mannered and co-operative young staff.
