My all time favourite place. Shanti Da is a sweetheart . Ginger honey tea and chicken platter. It's a perfect place for adda and evening hangouts.
The ambiance is mind blowing .... a bookshop containing good collection of Bengali legendary authors, feluda theme everywhere, friendly staff ... just awesome. The food is very good. Especially the Mexican spicy hot chocolate and chicken steak

We ordered lemon honey tea and cold coffee to start with...the tea was good bt the taste of the coffee was very pale without any taste...then we ordered fish fry and fish finger...both of them were good nd the tartar sauce served with that was awesome too...i regularly visit here and i would love to visit again and again!!

This place gives out soulful vibes through its art decor and artsy look. When I first went to this cafe, It was an amazing experience with friends. It has now become a tradition for me to visit there. I love to have the meat platter with earl grey. They have a wide variety of tea and coffee menu which is a plus point. You can read and work here. Food is awesome. You can just be there, read a book, sip into coffee and unwind. If you are going there for the first time, try the meat platter and drinks. If you are not a fan of experimental menu, don't try Ghuntghutiya drink. Affordable price point.
P.s, the staff can behave a bit rude, due to the rush.

We went there on a saturday evening during unlock phase.Sanitization protocol is followed by all the staffs and the customers.We went upstairs as there were some other guys sitting in the downstairs. So we were told to maintain the social distance. They have a large variety of snacks, teas and pastries. This is situated just at the opposite by lane of jodhpur park where the durga puja is held. Behind lane of palli mangal samiti or eedf. We order a non veg platter, a smoked barbeque sandwich and an assam flavoured tea. Everything was good. The non veg platter had a poached egg, salami, ham, garlic bread, sausage and some mayonese. The barbeque sandwch was very different than other regular sandwiches.It had a smoky taste in it.It had some french fries with it.French fries are mostly loved by all.Coming to the assam tea, it was very nice. We really enjoyed the meal there.The staffs were polite and well behaved.The ambience is classy. Recommending this place for its ambience and good food.

Has both outdoor and inside seating,and a staircase that leads to the up seating. The ambience is lovely.
Had masla tea and chocolate shake. The shake was bomb. And the masala tea was so good that we ended up having two glasses.

A Feluda themed cafe has recently come up at Jodhpur Park...the menu available over here is mainly Continental...it even has a signage suggesting so...there are pix all over inside the cafe as well...
This cafe has been around for some time, maybe a year or more, very popular though...
Ambiance is awesome...price is also reasonable...staff are very polite and well groomed...
If you are looking for a pocket friendly brunch...or light snack in an around Jadavpur/South City...this is the place to be in...

One of the places of South Kolkata which giver a the coffee house vibe. Ambience is nostalgically glorious. Stuffs are welcoming, but as it is kind of a socially popular joint son remain crowed. Most beautiful part is you can read or you me time having just one cup of cappuccino no one is going to break your space. Now coming to their food, I love their pork platter and even brownie. Visited many times. The only thing that will expect is a little expanded menu.
The ambiance and decor of this cafe is something else, total bengali childhood nostalgia. Such friendly staff and great comfort food. Their coffee and fried finger food is what I always order. Have tried out their wraps, sandwiches, steaks and pizzas as well.
Only shortcoming is the slow service if you're seated outdoors since all the staff spend most of their time inside.

We ordered their kolkata fish fingers and the meat platter! We went for a weekend brunch! The place is very cozy and young crowd friendly! We had an overall great food and ambience experience!
We had cold coffee, capuccino, chicken sandwich, fish fingers and brownie with icecream and chocolate sauce. It was a refreshing experience and the food was delicious. The staff was extremely courteous. I loved the experience there.

Located beside to the Monkey Temple , Jodhpur Park. This is a Satyajit Ray theme cafe where you will get all type of books available.. if you are a true fan of Satyajit Ray then this place is perfect for you.. I have ordered two type of pasta which was really nice in taste but little bit overpriced according to the quantity.. their calm, relaxing ambience is a hidden gem for bookworms too.. overall a nice place to visit with your friends and family.
I visited this place a few weeks back before the lockdown. They quality of the food is mind-boggling. The dishes are also very reasonable priced. I went along with some of my friends who don't live in India they were also very much satisfied with the quality of food being sold here at this very old place located admist South Kolkata.

So I had a wishlist of restaurants to visit when in Kolkata and Abar Baithak was in the list. Had seen and read a lot about this place and was fascinated by some of their platters.
And first day in Kolkata Abar Baithak was set for brunch scene. I am not much familiar with the bong culture but the much I know i understand the décor of the place is Felu Da Inspired. With the quirky décor the place gives u a lot to read and observe as you wait for your order.
Dimly lit place appropriate for adda over some good coffee or tea and good food. Uber polite and helpful staff. I however wanted to try their turkey platter but my partner was not ready to do some adventure. Anyways we settled at :
🔸 Hibiscus Apple Ice Tea: A bit too sweet for me but was good. Flavour of apple was powering.
🔸Yuzu Elderflower: I loved this drink. Mildly sweet, had the citrus flavour from Yuzu and hint of Elderflower. It's a must try.
🔸Small Pork Platter: Can say a breakfast platter for a person. 2 Cheese Pork Sausage, 2 slice Pork Salami,2 Pork Ham, Poached Egg on Hash Brown and Cheese Toast. The meat was excellent, slightly disappointed with Poached Egg as it turned hard otherwise it was good.
🔸 Chicken Tortilla Wrap: A good enough filling wrap. Loaded with chicken this is a feast for chicken lovers.
🔸 We ended our meal with Affogato; an Italian dessert that had Vanilla Ice Cream topped with a shot of Espresso and some Chocolate Syrup. Being a coffee fanatic I loved the dessert to the core. It's a must try.
I paid 1034/- and the meal was worth every penny spend. Just a small suggestion; if they mention portion size for platters it will be easy to order. I love this place and definitely will be back again.

It was the other day we went to this restaurant. It was wonderfully decorated with Feluda theme. Perfect for Feluda lovers. Only one thing that wasn't really in accord with the theme were the songs. There should be bengali songs or at least feluda-music playing in the background. Apart from these, the friendly staff, the great food and ofcourse the decor would have been q perfect 100 on 100.
Abar Baithak is a regular Haunt... The welcoming atmosphere... it's a perfect place to go solo or couple or towing ur entire gang. The quality and quantity of food is lovely for a nice time n experience.

The place is located near EDF jodhpur park. The service was prompt. The ambiance is quite great and can accommodate around 40 people. The taste of food and coffee is great but prices are on the higher side. Overall a definite try one. 😎

Everything was hot and fresh. The taste was a tad below good. Every table has its menu this is one little thing I liked about this place :3 Overall good experience. Liked the food. Loved the ambience.
Being a Feluda and Satyajit Ray shipper, this place had forever been on the bucket list. The cafe is strewn with a few Feluda knick-knacks, bits and pieces from the popular stories. I'm glad someone came up with this idea, because it is such an essential part of Bengali pop culture. The branding could be even better though, probably if they added some actual dishes from the series onto their real menu? Who knows?
Coming to the food.. it's quite delectable. The meat platter especially is sumptuous and everything a meat lover can wish for- delicious to the last bite! Summing up, must visit once.

I tried there chicken platter, grilled chicken steak, fish fingers and brownie with vanilla ice cream. All the items are good but chicken platter of this place is must eat. It consists of chicken sausages, chicken ham, poached egg, chicken salami and cheese toast. Staffs are also very polite.
This is a fantastic ,relaxing place to hang out with friends and family. I went to there and my first impression was Oh! there are so many favorite books. The ambience was so good and I ordered...
1. Chicken Platter : this was really yummy mainly the cheese garlic bread and the sausages.

A lovely, beautiful, well decorated and cosy place perfect to hang out with friends over some delicious food and beverages at reasonable prices. It's in Jodhpur park can be found easily on Google maps. The ambience is absolutely amazing ❤️. We had chicken salami sandwich, chicken ham sandwich, mushroom on toast and lime soda. Overall it was a really nice experience.

Paradise for all feluda fans out there!! Totally loved the ambience and decor. The food was very good and well cooked. I would highly recommend the spaghetti bolognese with lamb. A must try for everyone.

The interiors remind you of the colonial Bengal with a complete Feluda feel! ❤ The place is also equipped with books which you can read while sipping on your coffee both at the outdoor seating or inside.

1⃣ CHICKEN PLATTER : This had 2 spiced sausages, 3 chicken salami, 2 garlic bread, chicken ham and a poached egg. Though the egg wasn't as runny as we would like, all other components were really yummy and fresh. Specially loved the spiced sausages.
2⃣ CHICKEN BURGER : This came as 2 sliders with chicken patty, lettuce and mayo served with fries. Really liked the clean flavour of the chicken.
3⃣ HAZELNUT CAPPUCCINO : I am completely in love with this one. It tasted so amazing. Am definitely going back for it! ❤❤❤

Feluda is my favourite character and a cafe themed Feluda.. it was a treat in every way. Food here is great. The menu is also themed, with the items having unique names. Lot's of books available to read. Indoor as well as outdoor seating available. Smoking is allowed while seating outside. Carrom is also there. Board games available and the service is great. Feluda and food lovers, it's a date for you!

This place is one of my favourite. Its basically a cafe with all sorts of entertainment, like books, carrom, ludo, music, etc. This place has a fancy decor. It is based on Feluda theme. The food served here tastes delicious. The services are also very quick. The staffs are too friendly here. The prices are also quite reasonable.

This has been one of the OG book cafes in Kolkata. Situated in Jadavpur, this place gives off a strong Bengali vibe with all its collection of books, cinema posters, vintage decor and an old typewriter.
There are pretty and photo worthy corners all over the place and the slightly elevated 1st floor gives off a heritage house feeling.
But there are a few negatives that cannot be ignored,
1. The place is lacking maintenance, the furniture is worn out and chair-tables are tripping.
2. Service is really slow. Our simple cappuccino came about 25 minutes later and the pizza took forever.
3. The service is sloppy and looking closely this place is pretty dusty now.
The food was okay and nothing mention worthy. Please look at the maintenance part as that is the priority here.
Delicious delicacy of food the rice one taste was different but with really a good combination and the fish grill was also good..... drinks were filling also if u have a sweet tooth much try 👍🏻

We chanced upon Abar Baithak while looking for a cafe near South City Mall. The food was really good and was totally approved by my kid. Ambience was good with books to read while waiting for the food. Much recommended.
Really a great place to enjoy food with adda. Its more of a get together vibe here with some good collection of bengali and english books. The place is spacious also with 2 storey building. Food also is really good. Overall the atmosphere is good.
This is one of my favourite cafes in kolkata. I can't remember how many times I went there. If you love Feluda you'll love this place too because this is a Feluda themed cafe. And the food is also amazing yet budget friendly.

It's a pleasant and quaint cafe with great retro and aesthetic interior, has books that go great with your cup of joe. Has outdoor and indoor seating, you can smoke outside while enjoying your beverages and food. I sat on the first floor, the service was a bit late, the servers weren't making as many rounds as they should have been but it was understandable as it was quite busy there (they were very polite and sweet). The cafe is not all that expensive if you're planning on splitting the bill, if you're going alone then it can cost you around 200-400/-. We had the thin crust barbeque chicken sausage pizza and it was a 3.5/5, the pizza had ample toppings but lacked in taste. The barbeque flavour wasn't there it was quite bland. The place is comfortable and cozy. It's a fully cushioned big diwan kind of seating with few tables also there (only on the first floor). All things considered I had a decent experience and would visit again.

This is a nice place. The Ambience was good. I specially liked their sitting arrangement of th first floor. The book collections they have is really very good. The food we had was also very good, we tried some fish fingers, fish fry and a virgin mojito, all of them was really very good.
Ambience is a plus as is the general decor of the cafe. It is an ode to Bengali literature.
The menu has decent options and the preparations are delicious. Enough number of well made beverages to choose from. Steaks and platters are notable.

This is a quite popular Feluda themed Cafe in Jodhpur Park. They have got both outdoor and indoor seating arrangements. If you go for breakfast do try their Chicken platter ( though its available throughout the day). I will recommend their ginger honey tea as well along with fish fingers served with mayo and Kasundi. Staff is friendly, specially Shanti da really takes good care of the customers.
