Firstly There ambience is authentic ❤ and flavours of old Calcutta ❤❤
And this was my 2nd time visti.
Food 5/5
Starter:
1. 2 plates pf fishfinger ❤ i just loved the dish or u can say i went there again for those fingers ❤❤❤
2. Dry chilli chicken without aginomoto as i have Allergy in aginomoto 😣
Drinkes:
Four 60ml blenders pride and one 30ml ❤❤
Main course:
1. Butter nun and garlic nun
2. Chicken bharta
3. Chicken reshmi tikka masala
The food is good here taking from nonveg to vegetarian but the standard of restaurant is a bit low the decoration isn't attractive at all
But the food is delicious
Excellent ambience..if you really want where bengalis drink you should visit here...it still holds the heritage and provide supreme comfort...old design adds to the decorum of the place. 4 star because food menu is slightly overpriced. However given the area it is in justified.
This place was introduced to me by my dad this is one of his favorite place to eat chinese food and booze, so we happen to check in here after tired shopping in esplanade.. As soon as you enter you will be impressed with its huge space, we sat in the AC restaurant which is upstairs and i must say food quality and quantity is really good, you get the authentic chinese food up here, price charged is appropriate as per the serving..
My favorites from here are:
✔ Mixed Gravy noodles
✔ Chicken Tandoori
✔ Reshmi Kebab
✔ Chilly Chicken Dry
Now this place has become my favorite too.
A lovely place to go in, in a Sunny noon. From food to service all was nice & welcoming. Orders for tandi kebab, it was perfectly cooked and green chutney served along with was something extra ordinary. It was sweet & sour & went well with the dish. Mutton lever was awesome & served with saute veg . Service was very food ,servers are prompt & ready to help .
I have visited this fine dining restaurant a lot. Foods are finely cooked and the behaviour of the staffs are very good. Recommending everyone to visit this fine dining restaurant.
The colonial tinge with a touch of heritage can be well felt in this restaurant having a great ambience. The alcohol section is pretty good and the food tastes too good. Especially the section for seafood is attractive.
This watering hole is one which I have been visiting since 2009. It was surprising to see that bar service was off due to some legal reasons. Therefore, I had to make do with a parcel of prawn chilly, a signature dish of theirs. Ordered for noodles as well. Firstly, the quantity is more than enough for 1 person which lead to wastage. The dishes were finely cooked. It was a pleasure visiting them after a gap of 5 years. What makes it pleasant is the service provided by the old timers like Kaiser.
Do well Team New Cathay and look forward to visiting you again.
One of the oldest restaurants in Kolkata, this place has been wonderful over the years and considering the price, the food and services provided by them is outstanding. Both, the quality and quantity is satisfactory at the price and it's undoubtedly a great place to hangout.

An idle place to chill with your friends...love the ambience of the restaurant same old school type. Starters are yummy but I personally feel price is on the higher side.
One of the Oldest Restaurant near New market.... During our childhood we were quite frequent specially At times of Durga Puja Shopping as there was very few eateries near by... But as the year passed by compitiion increased with emergence of new places and food quality detorited... But last month due to heavy rain I was stucked at new market road with my friends and we decided to spent some time in New Cathey... This old place has british influence in its architecture...
We ordered some snacks -
1. Fish finger (4.5/5) - 8 standard size pure Bekti fish fingers served with old style potato fries and home made mayo was excellent ... This old style of potato fries and mayo stands out of all regular fish fingers served with french fries and mayo as its taste different...
2. Kasturi /Methi Murg Kebab (3.5/5) - This is quite like methi coated half tandoori chicken, seemed bit fried after it was roasted ... 6 big pcs of chicken with bone... Taste is good but too much spice and oil in it kills ur appetite after eating 1 piece... Meat was very soft when served hot but later as it cools it got little hard and chewy... I would have given full mark if it was less oily and boneless....
Overall the service and food was satisfactory... I would like to visit this place again to try some more items... Most important pocket friendly and senior staff members were very cheerful and coroperative...
A very old school place with cordial stuffs to enjoy a bottle or two of beer and to have a long chit chat with your friends or boyfriend
But the pocket pinch is really affordable as the price of the food and the huge quantity is enough to justify anyone's appetite...
Had been to this place many a times one should really try their in house speciality chicken 65 and my personal favourite dry chilli chicken that is to die for...😋😋
Do keep up the good work team
This is the bar where you can find the old "CALCUTTA" bar experience..
Ambience is really good..
Price of the bar items are reasonable..
Food is also good..
Moreover a good place to visit..
We had Drums of Heaven,Chicken 65.
Both items were very good in taste.
We Also had New Cathay Chowmein
Staff were polite,Service were moderate.
Overall thumbs up👍
We were three people. We ordered Fish Liver Gin and Mutton Kakori Kebab. Fish Liver Gin had six pieces of fish with a generous amount of sautéed carrots, beans and potatoes. It tasted light and filling at the same time. The mutton dish had three mid sized pieces. It tasted good.
The staff is extremely well mannered. The chef came and met us personally to ask our opinion. Definitely worth a try if one is in the New Market area. Also the restaurant gives you a old world feel.
Parking can be done at New Market area.
After the x-mas party at bow barrack some of my friends visited new cathay bar cum restaurant at around 10:30 PM. Being a full time bar, this place servers real good food. They have two seating segment. We opted to seat in the upper deck with our family n friends. Narrow wooden stairs are vanishing quickly from our city, but this restro still clinging on their heritage is really appreciate able.
We ordered :-
Mix gravy chowmin
Mix fried rice
Fish with vegetables
Quality and quantity was great. Each n every dishes tasted nice. Service was quick.

small place bt atmosphiyar is soo good..food quality is also bttr..price is quite litte high..decoresn is no dobute bttr..it's near to esplande..nice chiill out place..
Very old nostalgic feeling when u enter, big screen was projected for ipl screening. U can enjoy ur dinner with a chilled beer and nice starters and enjoy match. Ordered Chilli fish with some extra Chilli and it turned super awesome. Staffs were friendly and takes care of ur need and order very well. Food was nice, a bit pricy.
Experience was good.
food is delicious.❤️❤️if you want to spent your time in a calm environment, then yes, this is the place..
nightlife is also good .
Situated or rather hidden in the grand hotel arcade, this place gives off the soothing old world aura with its high ceiling ,chequered floors and spacious sitting arrangements . However the real charm of new Cathay lies in its fame for initiating many youngsters to their first peg of whisky or first mug of beer . Many will say this place is pocket friendly but with its revised menu I won't fully agree to that . Indeed this place is not super expensive but New Market definitely has better and cheaper options .
Food here is delicious . I really love their Chinese chop suey, chicken 65 and crispy baby corn . The
Staff are not very courteous or friendly but they will give you privacy and space .
New Cathay has a separate family section upstairs which I like even more . It's warmly dark and provides you a with bit of safe seclusion as you slowly sip your poison .
Basically a great a place if you wanna treat yourself or someone very special with drinks , delectable food and a bit of solitude and equally great for warm ,lazy addas with groups of friends over a couple of beers .
Though the ambiance is not that good.. but if you are planning to hang out with your friends i think this place is ok... The behaviour of the staffs are good and the quality of the food is so so.... Can't rate this restaurant more than 3.5

Mutton roast with a pint of beer is their heavenly treat. Retro retreat it is, amidst of the high rise ceilings and the soulful music they offer.. Blessing to a thirsty throat during a casual walk through esplanade.
A pub / restaurant with an old world charm, hanging fans, high ceilings and a friendly bunch of people to serve you. The wide assortment of finger foods is really good and also not that expensive. Must try the chickpea salad. overall a big thumbs up!
Visited there for a get together with my old friends. The variety of bar menu is really good, appreciable indeed. Absolut with lime cordial, Teacher's Original with Chicken lollypops, Kababs and fish were on the table. Ambience is good and food as well. It's not the best among the category, but definitely a decent one.
Do try their drumsticks with ur choice of poison.
This is the only place where I have got the best fish finger I ever had in my lifetime. Moreover, the fish finger is accompanied with tartar sauce and french fries which will sooth your taste buds like anything. And the dry chilli chicken, New Cathey special noodles and good collection of beer will make your day. Totally worthy and reasonable.
Ambience was very nice. All items were equal delicious. Chicken Kasturi kebab was awesome. Yum food at pocket healthy cost.. Staffs' behaviour were also nice.

I have heard of this place from.my parents said that they used to come here in their courtship days and they said that this place has the old taste of kolkata in their classic chinese food and also in structure so one summer noon i decide to Visit it with himadri.i was attracted by the high celling, the naturally cooler interior the pictures on the wall the old rustic feeling the place has immediately.we ordered chicken drumstick, chicken fried rice,(name of the chicken dish mone nei, tumi dao)😢all of them are so tasty and chicken was not prepared with lots of cornflower powder like many chinese restaurants..Drumstick was crispy.amount was good ,stuff were behaving nicely.service was prompt.a little high price compared to the present state of the restaurant which doesn't have that fancy look at all but still the taste of the food made us forget about that.so yup a place worth Visting if you want to get a little taste of kolkata chinese delicacy in your mouth.
The place is situated at new market area just beside of grand hotel.the place has two tier, lower tier is very big and upper tier is small.lower tier has a smoking zone.environment is good.mainly upper tier has a family environment.we ordered manchow shop, one panner dish, one fish item and crisphy chicken.all are starters.beside this there were kingfisher ultra and budwiser.dishes are very good.staffs are friendly.all over good place.highly recomanded.
Lovely restaurant.. i love their food n theme...
Chelo kebab is the special one which we like most...
Apart from fish livergin also a great taste..
This restaurant stiuated near The Grand hotel..
It's quiet good place for foods & beverage..... Fully enjoyed with friends.... Environment & staffs are also good...
Eating Here since 2015 ..The place is good for various kind of foods and taste is also good of most of the foods ..Price is little high because of its location .It is situated In front of the Grand Hotel and beside Cannon camera shop ..Easy to find ..U have drinks here also ..
Never tried this restaurant before after being in Esplanade for so many times. It's one of the oldest bars in Kolkata which is evident from the decor & the ambience. The food was really good according to the price. Price of drinks are also less compared to other bars or restaurants. Would love to visit again ☺
This restaurant is located close to Grand Hotel in Esplanade, and is spotted to the left on your way to Park Street. The restaurant has dimly lit interiors , with a ground floor seating that resembles coffee house , and an air conditioned area on the first floor. The service here is adequately quick , and the staff are courteous. A nice place to grab a drink over some adda with friends , in the heart of the city .
In The Food space.. I have the utmost respect for two types of Restaurants.. Stand alone places that have survived the test of time, and Restaurants that boast of dishes that are off the beaten path.. Imagine my joy in finding a place that ticks both these Boxes..“New Cathay” is one such place in Kolkata (In The Hotel Oberoi Grand Building, right next to the Hotel’s main gate). This third generation Restaurant has been housed in the same premises for the past 70.. I repeat.. 70 years !!! The décor may not be much to write about, but the Food… different story altogether. Apart from a regular Indian and Chinese Menu (I am told by my foodie friends that the Chinese Food and the desi Chicken Curry is delicious) they have quite a few interesting items that they serve.. I had the “Fried Chicken” (which is served with lime and their inhouse masala powder).. then we went on to “Fish Liver Gin”, and their Version of the “Chelo Kabab”. Although Peter Cat is the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of Chelo Kabab’s, but, New Cathay’s is a must try. All in all, some great food.. NOTE : In my humble opinion, an iconic place that has been in business for 70 years is above anyone's rating.. but, have given it a 5, being the highest possible rating.
Price wise the food was good and the quantity too. Liked the ambience. We had this kebab platter with breezer. Then it was pepper fish and mixed hakka noodles. All three good. 4 of us were well fed.
Quite Expensive but worth it. Try the chilli shrimps it's mouth watering. Nice place to hang out with family or friends. Good ambience, soft music. 🍽
Been one of the oldest bar cum resturant in the town.. food quality is good.. loved their chilli chicken.. it's kind a mouth watering.. other than that.. ambience is good for having gossips with friends.. behaviour of the staffs is good..
Surprisingly, this joint is pretty good or some moderately priced booze and average food. The location is extremely approachable- just below the Oberoi Grand hotel. And, if you visit in the evening, go for their mutton Burrah kebab. Its juicy and brilliant. Pro tips: on a good day, call the chef and ask for his suggestion for kebabs. Invariably, he'll suggest this one only and then you go for it. Trust me, it can give many a renowned ones a run for their money. The chilly shrimp is also pretty filling and quite good. Overall, recommended.
If you enjoy old heritages which gives you a sporty feel too..then is a must visit . The ambience is good..they always keep the sports channel on and ppl seat with beer and their favorite snacks or munchies. And enjoy the moment. The staffs are good . Can do a better hospitality. Seating arrangement is kinda old decor. They keep water bottles on every table . Thats kinda awkward. The green veg soup was not that worthy. But the noodles were good and the ginger chicken was also worthy. We wanted chicken stagnoff..but they couldn't serve it at that time due to some problem. Easy on pocket. Located under grand archade..if you are visiting new market then give it try.
been there on 31st for lunch..they served food fast..food quality is good..they could have increase the quantity a little...nice ambience...i won't recommend this place as pocket-friendly but the money worthy spending.
I used to visit this bar in my college days . Recently I visited this bar & find it decent.
Downstairs can accommodate around 50 peoples & non ac. Upstairs can accommodate small lives & have ac. Both side TV is very small considering their size. Wine price is very cheap considering location. Food menu is large & lot of variety is there. It is quite strange that each plate having huge quantity & sufficient for 2-3 people. No half plate. Better to go there as gang. Restaurant & wash rooms are cleaned & interior is ok. Good for family. Crowds looks decent & less noisy.
Only food quality could have been better.
Went there recently...felt like if Coffee House ever decided to design a modern bar around 2005, New Cathay is exactly what you get...See 2005 ?? Yes , thats is because its not exactly 2016 inside.Thats absolutely fine by me. The waiters are dressed in a proper attire which is always a plus. The service was quite nice as well. Loved the chicken platter, and the shrimp dish. Cant recall the name. The Chicken Kasturi Kebab was made with a 'dashboard' of salt instead of a pinch. It felt like licking a rock from the Dead Sea, however if the cook is a little less generous with the salt , the dish does have plenty of potential I must say. I have heard the Mutton Kakori Kebab is also a delicacy there, will try it next time. The Tutti-Fruity ice cream had fruits which were sour. Not complaining though, it was okay.
Overall a nice place , will visit again. Soon
Can' t remember how many times I've been here. This is probably the only place where the "bar" doesn't feel like one-meaning it's completely ok to dine with family. The ambience is beautiful, with its quietitude n low soft music.Equally heavenly is the food. The chicken corn soup, fried chicken n prawn pakora are the best.Love this place!
We went there on Panchami this year,we ordered chiken fried rice,Chiken Malai kabab and Chilli Chiken. We loved the foods specially malai kabab.S ervice is late.otherwise food is good.
I have been to this bar-cum-restaurant a number of times and every time I enjoyed the food and its atmosphere. This place has an old Calcutta charm with high ceiling and cool Christmas decorations. The food is really good and comes in huge quantity. I love their Chicken 65 and the fish finger. The price of the drinks is pretty decent compared to similar bars and the service and cordial behaviour of the staff are big advantages. A good place to be for post-work beer sessions.
Well, Went with my parents for their 24th anniversary, been a good time. But the food serving is too late, else the enviorment was cozy! Prices were not so much steap.
I cannot count how many times I have been there. Best place for me for some
nice Chinese dish or a sip of beer at minimum pocket pinch. Service there
is excellent. Always trust the staff there and their suggestion. I love the
Fish finger most with mayonnaise with chilled beer.

Whenever I go to Calcutta, I make it a point to visit New Cathay. During the days at Kollata, I used to prefer this place more than Olypub or regular bars of Park Street. This place has it's own essence which is mostly of the old Calcutta.
I like to have beer accompanied by chilli chicken at this place. Finger fish and the fries, accompanied by Tartar sauce is also one of my favourites. From the main course I choose noodles and a chicken dish. They make great chicken stroganoff.
The waiters are working there for long and I have few known waiters whom I love. They take care of me and my preferences. Such is the care that remind me atleast for once if I tend to have beers more than 3 or 4.
Cheers and love to New Cathay.
Been there a couple of years back. Food was good but a bit costly. But the waiters were not professional. They took a lot of time to deliver the order. But the location & ambience of this bar cum restro is nice.
At the very beginning I must say their food is very good. Both quality and quantity.
Service is excellent. Only con is probably a bit backdated ambience else a great place to visit with friends. Even with family.
Chicken kasturi....n malai kabab...must try.... Food taste is standard..... Reasonable price.....location is very good...bar is also there.... Good for friends hangout
Awwsome place... Food are tasty and the service of the people there are als very good.. Its a great place for all alcohol loving people as the prices are als relativly cheap..

Hidden in plain sight in the facade of the Oberoi Grand Hotel is this quaint but quite memorable pub.
It is located just beside the Oberoi Grand gates towards the new market side. Having heard about it on zomato and by word of mouth, we decided to give it a try on a soggy Saturday evening.
The interior is quite spacious and it has a 2nd storey which is air conditioned. The air conditioned section was full so we had to settle for the ground floor. We thought it would be mighty uncomfortable but the age-old suspended ceiling fans gave us a run for our money. The crowd inside was a sophisticated one.
The booze is relatively cheap here and the options are aplenty. You just have to ask for a drink and they have it. The service is proompt.
For food we sampled Chicken Malai Kebab, Tandoori prawn, and on the request of the chef - Mutton Kakori Kebab. The Malai kebab was fantastically done with the chicken just the right amount of tender and infused with the right spices. The kakori kebab was another highlight with the mutton just falling off the bone. The tandoori prawns were in the right place but i feel they could've been done better.
Overall we were pretty impressed with the place. They also serve Chinese and Continental which i am planning to go back for.
It is a good alternative to Fairlawns if you find it full.
Dropped in for lunch. It has two sections, Non-Ac has more seating capacity compared to the AC section on the upper storey which is very cosy. We ordered New Cathay Noodles (Mixed), Egg Fried Rice and in side dish Chicken 65. The food tasted amazing and the quantity was sufficient for us. The staffs are very good and helpful.
Under the bourgeois charm of Oberoi Grand, you'll find the shallow entrance of this place...
I used to be a regular when in College... After Olypub increased its price, this place happened to be a oasis to us, the serious alcohol lovers...
This is a full fledged restaurant and bar... So, if you are from a sophisticated domestic background, you'll possibly find this place entertaining your bowels as well as your tastebuds...
Enjoyed sumptuous meals with brandy (as I was suffering from a sore throat)...
Would recommend... Obviously...
A hidden gem in literal sense, this age old bar cum restaurant is located near Grand Hotel in Chowringhee area hidden amongst the footpath hawkers merchandises. It has a pretty vintage feel in the original ground tier section but on a hot summer day one may feel a little uncomfy to seat under generation old huge fans. For them they have a air conditioned upper tier , relatively new. We were looking for some finger foods to go along with booze and opted for Chicken 65 apart from the normal namkeen which they serve along with the Bud and Tuborg we got. Excellent cooking. Tender pieces of chicken, very well balanced taste, the dry chillis were adding a separate zing and the bell peppers, onions were saucy and crispy at the same time. Service is fast enough but like most of the old bars the waiters suffer from same no smile syndrome which makes u reluctant to call them. Overall a nice place.
Ambience is like old-fashioned with a big sitting space. Food are delicious, especially Chinese starters. A good space for quick refreshments but prices are little high.
As I entered this place , i didnt expect much seeing the ambience as it looked like a dark and quite old kind of a restaurant. But as the dishes arrived on our table, we were pleasantly surprised. Really yum food and very good portions. And It's dirt cheap too.
I have visited this place more than 20 times.. The environment may b bit clumsy because of office going boozers. But the starters and Chinese main course with a bottle of beer always fill my appetite. I never had any complain from this old vintage restaurant standing amidst the busy hawker lane..
This place was suggested by a friend. Though it's placed in the heart of esplaned, I haven't noticed it for a long time. The place is famous for cheap booz nd cozy ambiance. They had a big screen as It was IPL season.
Now the food! For starters we had Tandoori Prawn, Chicken Malai Kabab and Fish liver Gin . For main course we had Egg Fried Rice and Chilly Chicken.
The Prawn was very tasty it was one of the best dish we had there. The Chicken was okeish. Now this Fish Liver Gin was something new. The whole buttery Garlicy flavour was very delicious. It's a must try (if you'r having booz). The Egg Fried rice was really good bt I didn't like the Chilly Chicken much. The portions were good. Staffs were really good.
Taste 7/10
Value for money 6/10
Staff behaviour 8/10
Not that I like this place very much, but whenever I am somewhere around Esplanade, somehow I end up being there.
Quality of food is average. I used to like their 'Fish finger with french fries' a lot, but it has lost its quality, probably the chef has been replaced? Nonetheless, quantity of food is pretty great.
And the most annoying fact is that sometimes they serve not-so-chilled beer. I have beed told quite a few times that they are running out of chilled beer and you have to drink whatever they have in store. That's pretty annoying considering the fact that Beer tastes like piss when it's warm.
Another astonoshing fact is that the waiters are more eager to take orders of drinks only. When it comes to ordering some food, they starts to behave in a nonchalant way.
Nonetheless, it's a pretty good place to visit considering the price and all.
I have been very frequent visitor to this bar cum restaurant. Location is under the grand hotel besides puma shop. Food price is on a higher side. But the best thing is carlsberg or kingfisher beer are served in the company's glass. Alas! nothing such for tuborg though. The place has the look of an old look with large hanging fans, a/c section is on the upstairs. Grab a beer and sink in your thoughts or have adda with friends.
Just 2 steps away from grand Oberoi...tasty Chinese, economical bar...their quantity is good...within 200 one can get a good amount of rice and chicken with a big aloo...only thing is its ambience and its little dark..but good for adda over beer and live sports .
1st time I tasted alcohol here, food quality is awsm. Ambience was so good. Bt now lots of not so gentle people over there, so ambience is not so good. Stuffs are good. Price reasonable.
I have been here quite a few times. The beer is comparatively cheap here and the ambiance is soothing. The food is a bit costly. I wish smoking was allowed in the bar area.

This is a great place is you are looking for value for money. the kebababs are excellent, and so are the chinese dishes. Its more of a place for blokes to eat and drink. Every time im in Kolkata, I stop by this place.
New place for a gate a way.. Pretty nostalgic.. Though food is good but parking is a major concern as it is located beside Grand oberoi Esplanade.
Good food within low budget. ......
Cheken toonduri is good
Drinks peg cost is also very cheap.
Ac or non ac both type of sittings arrangement are available. .....
You can visit
Ummm... Now this restaurant got something what others missed. The location, Esplanade - the heart of Kolkata. Really good food and booze with decent ambience. If you are going for shopping to your favorite new market and looking for a late drink and dinner, there they are.
This place holds a special place in my heart. It's one of those quirks in your life, you happen to be thrown into a circumstance and you simply walk into a restaurant without any foreknowledge.
At the very onset, let me tell you this isn't a place to impress your gf/wife with. A shady and gloomy den to accentuate the melancholia in you as you indulge in chilled beer and of course chilly chicken.
I haven't tried out so much here to do justice while I rate this place. Egg fried rice and golden fried prawns are the other things you must try here.
The quantity is amazing and so is the taste. The price of the alcohol is welcoming and not prohibitive. Don't compare it with high end restaurants. It's light on the pocket and very satisfying though. This is the place to be in when the friends you bank upon cancel their plans to go out with you
Carry your own music and the trip is completed. It's like you have entered an old world where time has stood still - you will only understand if you be here.
Update: this time the music played here was reminiscent of the 90s. Also jazz and blues. Chicken 65 is another delight.Another thing the main area in the ground floor doesn't have AC. In the upper floor are the seats for family with AC.
Visited after a long long time. May be a decade. Food is still so tasty and 😋. Authentic Chinese preparation. Really liked it. Plus it has been recently renovated. I loved it 😍..
Budget bar with good food and the atmosphere will take you to the starting of 2000s. The dim light and the slow music is the best combo to make the atmosphere attractive in esplanade.
This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is relaxed and cool, yet the staff is also really pleasant. They know what they're talking about and what they're doing, and you can see that making consumers happy is their first concern. The food is really delicious, with some Italian classics and some variations, and the prices are well worth it.❤
Fantastic bar cum restaurant in the grand arcade. Good food, moderately priced. They had several drinks option could not offer single malt though. Snacks were tasty and good in quantity.
was indeed a good experience with a quite lovely ambience . The food quality was nice compared to the other Chinese restaurant...but it may seems like the price is slightly high compared to the amount of food they provide...but it was managable...as for us...but it may differ people to people...as how much they intake..but it was a good experience as this is my 4th time in this restaurant and first time after the lockdown... Must visit hotel
Has a heritage touch in decoration. Ground floor's wall is nicely decorated with painting.that is non ac. First floor is an ac hall. Light of the first floor is quite bright for a restaurant which is quiet disturbing. They also serve hard drinks . We took creamy chicken soup, greavy mixed chowmin and dry chilli fish. Food were awesome, specially soup and chowmin were really good. All the waiters are seniors which is good to see. You will not get internet if you want to pay through card or by any other electronic device. Lil bit internet connection is in ground floor so you need to come down to pay. It's a boon in the mid of the Esplanade Street food.
Awesome place with very beautiful ambiance, the vibe and environment is full of positive energy and food served was delicious.
Don’t forget to try lip smacking yummy dessert .
Everything was good. Staffs are very friendly.
Location is very nice. Very near to Grand Hotel.
Drinks price is cheap, not so costly. For two people with drinks will cost you around 800-1000.
Food was really good. Chicken was awsome. Please go and try this restaurant.
After the covid they have very good hygiene system. They will clean your table in-front of you. So no worries.
Recommend 🤘🏻
Excellent place , has an old school charm..pocket friendly . I had fried chili shrimp that was excellent , so as the fish finger. Mixed fried rice was also good ..overall a very relaxed place with tasty food.
Well, the dishes, especially of prawn, are delicious, quantity is well enough to serve for two. The ambience is soothing to rekindle the nostalgia...We were famished when we had got there and it was able to provide us satisfaction with quick serving and diligent experience of their waiters.
The ambience was very good. Airconditioning was working very well. Cocktails were very well prepared. Fish fingers were perfectly fried. And the bill was within my budget.
It was my first experience there... believe me the ambience was so great .I totally felt at home...food service everything was good.My fav was there fried chicken and fried rice..so fingerliciouslu good. I mean I would recommend this food outlet to every food lover .
Thank you for serving .
Best place for regular boozing out. Average price of drinks and quality food. One of the oldest bar and place of kolkata, you'll feel the vintage vibe if you sit in ground floor but it's non-ac though. 1st floor is modified later like a simple ac restaurant.
Located just besides The Grand Oberoi on the Esplanade, Kolkata, this watering hole is frequented by old timers and patrons who are referred OR out for shopping in the New Market Area.
Now this has been renovated and wears a modern look.
Chilli Prawn and Mutton Kakori kebab is simply amazing. Drinks are priced moderately.
Went on a weekday evening, ambience is relaxing. A traditional hangout place. The fish finger and the gravy chowmein were awesome! Service can be a bit better.
Entire bar should be made AC and not just one section which is not that comfortable and feels very cramped.
Food was good and staff was overall courteous however one item which was the Cheese Ball was absolutely disappointing since there was no cheese in it and it felt like I was having a South India Bonda!
Overall a good experience!
Seriously, the food was so tasty and at a reasonable price 😁 and the atmosphere was also too good I loved the chicken very much It was too tasty 🤤 I had never ever tasted and service was also good . Totally food must visit these place 🤠
