The most awaited Dim Sum & Bao Festival already started on 15th September.
I recently visited The Orient New Town for the Dim Sum & Bao festival. Such an amazing place to taste Asian food. I love the ambiance. Perfect place for couples, friends and family get together.
They have a-la-carte as well as buffet available from 12 pm to 4 pm. Buffet on table cost INR 499/- AI For VEG & INR 549/- AI for NON-VEG.
Dim Sum festival started from 15th of September to 11th October. They have so many varieties in platter. Dim Sum and Bao available in various combinations as well.
The best part is you can customise your platter as per your choice. The platter comes with 4pcs/6pcs/8pcs Dim Sums with a common of 2 baos and you can choose your bao as well from the option of chicken/fish/pork/veg. You can have platters with three sauces/dips.

The orient, a specialty restaurant by Ambuja Neotia group offers the perfect flavor of south East Asia. This place is slaying since so many years in city of joy and Kolkata people has never disappointed from this place. The orient is a fine dining place where the overall experience was truly incredible. This place was not huge but a properly designed for couples, family or group meetups. This place is located at Ground floor of City Centre 2, Newtown, Kolkata. They have another outlet which is located at city Centre 1, salt lake.
They do have both a la carte and buffet option to choose from. If I talking about their buffet they have buffet on table Which cost INR 499/- AI For VEG & INR 549/- AI for NON-VEG (12-4PM). Now in a la carte they have huge varieties of options from different cuisines but the interesting part is that they have just started their DIMSUM AND BAO Festival which is available from 15th Of Sept till before Druga Puja. So few days back we visited this place to experience their ongoing festival.

Important thing about this platter if someone does not like to have pork dim sum in the platter can also has the option of choosing the dim sum of your choice. The Dim Sums and Bao are available at the separate section basis also in the Festival menu.
💰 Pocket pinch: - Pinch for two is ₹ 1400 - ₹ 1500 for a great experience. The Nonveg Platter cost us ₹ 755 and the veg platter cost us ₹ 675, respectively.
▶ Overall: - Overall, I am really very impressed with the place. Had a great dining experience and superlative food. After dining at the Orient, I have gladly added one more name to my list of "Go-to” Asian Food Joints in the Town. I am recommending this place to everyone. Do pay a visit this place during the Dim sum & Bao festival, you will not regret 💕 👍🏻
In my opinion, this place is a bit too hyped up. The serving size to price is quite justified. The cocktails here are good albeit a bit expensive. Would definitely recommend eating the chocolate dome, treat to the eyes as well as the tastebuds!
This restaurant should be given a shout out for social distancing. In post covid world, this kind of seating arrangement should serve as an example. Excellent food quality. Absolutely loved their buffet
Had really researched all my options before going here a couple of days ago in the middle of the pandemic so went through a number of reviews before we chose and we were not disappointed one bit. The management has revamped the interiors to ensure private dining cubicles and effective social distancing. The staff was fairly courteous and helpful and followed every instruction we gave perfectly. The food was brilliant absolutely no corners cut there. We ordered for sliced lamb In chinese barbecue sauce, chicken haka noodles and chicken in black pepper sauce. All 3 were brilliant , the lamb was exceptional.
The only word of caution here is that while using dineout or any promotional offers be supremely clear of the rules.
Great chinese food in CC2, hard to notice from outside, awesome taste, and good price a little on the higher side, but went ehen there was 50% off on food menu from dineout
If you are in a mood for Asian masti then do visit this gorgeous place at cc2 , food and hospitality are the best over here.
Hygiene and sanitation are their top most priority and that's really appreciated.

Nice oriental food. The staff is courteous and attentive. The food tastes nice and has sufficient quantity for two people.
My experience at orient is exclusively beautiful. The whole restaurant is divided into small chambers for family and couples which is why privacy is maintained. Secondly, the interiors and the decor is also nice.
Coming to food,we had ordered crispy Thai style chicken peppersalt with galangal and lemongrass which was truly delicious and very crisp in taste . Next we had ordered lychee lime taichi margarita. It was strong and slightly sweet. In the main course, we had ordered Singapore spicy vermicelli noodles and pomfret with lemongrass, lime and basil leaves . The noodles were orient special and it was mouth watering. And the pomfret was also exclusively toothsome. The lemongrass added a special taste to the dish. The quantity of all these items were sufficient . The staff were courteous and very amicable. They helped us a lot to choose from so many items.

A very good restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere. The food is just awesome.
Though waiting time for table and food was long it was worth the wait. Good place with privacy to talk as tables are separated like cubicles. Specially liked their fried ice cream and Chicken Sui Mai. We also tried Chicken Chopsuey and it was crispy and yummy along with the gravy. Good place to visit preferably with booking.

In starters we had Garlic butter fish, we chose basa as the fish.
In main course we ordered noodles and sliced chicken with fresh ginger, spring onions. In the side dish mushroom was not mentioned in the menu but in the dish we found mushroom. I think they served stir fried chicken with assorted mushroom and ginger sauce. We didn't argue because when we realised, we already ate lot of it and it was tasting good. ☺ Noodles was okayish not that great.
In dessert we had coconut chocolate ice cream with apples and nuts. It was real good. We actually wanted to order some other ice cream but they had limited options probably because it was 1st January.

One of the best place to enjoy really really tasty dishes. Firstly I will suggest the pork preparation named Philippino pork ribs adobo. I liked the fat chunks of pork the most so I went for 90%fat pieces not solid one. The taste was out of the world. So soft and exact amount of spices. Oil was dipping over the pieces. Then got a chicken starter mentioned below. It was also good. Then at last a fish preparation with Betki fish. This was also very tasty. I don't like spicy items and found these place a very good option for me.

Nice romantic cozy decor, with cubicle structure for individual privacy of guests. Classy red and black ambience with light music, makes it perfect for any family or romantic outing.
I visited today evening, and was lucky enough to get the four people coupes which were absolutely grand.
Service could have been better as there were adequate staff but not effectively attentive.
Food is awesome. We ordered:
Gai sai takrai with herbs : Thai delicacy of chicken balls stir fried with subtle thai herbs. Recommended if you like thai and like light starters.
Chilli garlic chicken noodles : This could have been more tasty as the noodles seemed abit dry and both chillli and garlic weren't so strong.
Tangra style chilli chicken : Lip- smacking, chilli chicken with added subtle flavours without the overpowering chilli flavour otherwise.
Coconut icecream, custard and palm sugar sauce: heavenly, as the custard and icecream blend seemlessly giving you the right ending to a great meal! Served interestingly, this dish is a must try even if you despise coconut, as you might instead start loving it.. Malai marke!!

Went there for the first time and it was a very pleasant experience. Such alluring decor and courteous staffs.
Had Thai chili drumsticks, chili basil rice and lamb in chili hoison sauce. Perfectly cooked lamb and crispy chicken drumsticks paired well with basil rice. For drinks tried transfusion and billy the kid. Refreshing and delicious.
Shall visit the place again.
On 2nd October ( Gandhi Birthday + Durga Puja Tritiya) we visited The Orient for Lunch. We had ordered Hot and Sour soup (Chicken), Hong Kong Style Lamb, Pan Fried Sichuan Basa fish, Hakka Noodles ( chicken + Egg) and Coconut Ice cream. Desert was awesome taste. Personally I Recommended this Item. Total bill was Rs.2241 including all tax.

This place is located at City Center 2. I have visited this restaurant first time and I am really impressed with the quality of food. We were a group of ladies who came to The Orient. I would especially recommend mocktails. They served Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. Quality and quantity of food is enough. Prices were reasonable. Service was good. They were nice and polite in their service.

Recently I visited this restaurant located in City Centre 2 mall. It is located in the ground floor and very easy to locate. They accept zomato gold as well. The staff is very courteous and they give good suggestions on food if you're not sure what to eat. Overall, a very good restaurant with food with good quantity. Would love to visit again sometime!

They have both alacarte n buffet optn buffet was 750 approx.
Starters includes dumpling ,chicken drumstick,babycorn,fish n some other veg item.
Starters we're served hot n very delicious.
Main course there were Thai n Chinese foods including Thai green chicken,prawn,paneer ,veg Manchurian,steam rice,thairice,noodle,lamb etc
Deserts 2kinda ice creams , brownie,darshan,strawberry mousse the best I have tried ever,
So iif I have to rate the food I would give 4/5

A great place for chinese lovers! It has a beautiful decor, prompt service, tasty food which satisfy every visitor. I have visited here thrice now and they never let me down.
The first and best part about this place is the ambience - it is so classy and romantic and quiet and tranquil. 2stars added for the ambience itself. The rest for the quality and taste and courteous staff. A la Carte menu is on the higher side in terms of price however enjoyed the buffet thoroughly - the food quality takes it to a different level and is giving a tough competition to its peers! I absolutely loved the food but the number of items could have been more . Dessert is delicious particularly the pineapple coconut custard.

Spicy Shichan Chicken Dimsums : I had this wrong perspective that Momos and Dimsums taste same, but it's not a 'Must Try'.
Ginger and Pepper Fried Rice : A bit spicy and slices of Ginger, Carrots and other veggies goes really well with the side dish.
Sliced Chicken in Black Beans and Soya : It was more than satisfactory. Undoubtedly the best. It worth every bucks. Just go for it.
The ambience is well great and the behaviour of waiters were very gentle. This restaurant is a must go.

A cozy gem of a place with downright good Indian Chinese food. Munchow Soup was light yet full of all the flavours your pallet expects. Dimsum platter do equal justice to both veg and non veg versions and provides variety in terms of fillings, texture, colours and wrap styles. A fish dimsum with cabbage wrap and dipped in stock, clearly stand out. We ended the meal in usual Hakka Noodles, but it will not disappoint you for sure on flavours. All in all it’s a nice place if you feel like having good Chinese food

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Orient, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The highlight of our meal was the Chicken Thai Green Curry, which I must say is a must-have; it was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spice. We also indulged in some Tempura Sushi and Shrimp Sushi, which were incredibly fresh and satisfying.
To complement our meal, I enjoyed a smooth and delicious Mai Tai cocktail. The drinks menu had a great variety, and this one hit the spot perfectly.
The ambiance at The Orient is cozy and exudes authentic Asian vibes, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing dining experience. If you ever find yourself craving sushi or Asian cuisine in general, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful experience. I went to celebrate my partner's birthday and had a beautiful evening. The staff were very courteous and the service was excellent. We tried the Shrimp Tempura Maki (sushi) which was very good. The Chilli onion pork was my personal favourite and one of the best chilli pork I have tried till date. The Hong Kong XO noodles along with Kung Pao chicken was the perfect dish to finish off the meal. Overall a very satisfying experience.

Pretty nice lunch we had on Independence Day 2023 … loved their food but the sitting space for couples could have been a bit larger & staff behaviour a bit better.
Good fine dining place, recommend for sea food like Crabs, Lobstar, Salmon, Fresh Bhetki fishes.
Nice experience, Authentic Chinese food served with utmost care and passion. Highly recommended.
We went on 31 dec and we were served the dishes within 5-7 minutes after ordering. The ambience is a bit dull and kids might not enjoy it. They have two separate indoor seating options so if you kids opt for the hall which has a TV.

I asked a staff to explain a flavour and he very patiently first told about what goes into the dish and then made us taste the sauce so that we can confirm if we would like the taste of the fish before ordering it.

We ordered prawn fried rice, wok tossed chilli chicken and salmon fish. All the food was delicious. Specially the dessert daab ice-cream will make you visit the restaurant again. You can also enjoy the view of metro running from the Window. But be careful while paying they charged us one hard drink which we didn't order.
I had a fantastic experience there. All those dishes are exclusively exotic.. head chef ghanashyam and chef Deepak have the magic in their hand .. they prepare tastiest food which makes you happier instantly.
From rooftop to indoor seating area, from service to Asian food options, Orient has it all.
I had a great experience over there. Our dinner was quite fascinating.. Planning to visit soon to explore other food options.

Excellent food served aesthetically with care and attention to detail. All the servers were very polite and professional. Had a chance to met chef Ghanshyam who made sure we had the best foods from the menu. The ambience was very nice, with a silent view of the passing trains through the new metro line now and then.
Do try their special jasmine tea, and if you prefer to select from the liquor menu, you can go for any of their cocktails. For food, their fish, prawn and crab preparations are over the top. I personally loved their pan fried prawns and believe it to be the best I've ever had. In chef's recommendation we tried the udong egg noodles with some light chicken, which kept the bar high for the dessert.
I have a sweet tooth and a weakness for desserts. But trust me when I say this. Their coconut ice cream on custard is bound to put you on your cloud nine. The ice cream was creamy with sugary, caramelized and crunchy coconut shaving. But the show stealer was the coconut malai resembling home-curated coconut custard that the ice cream was served on. The dessert stole the show of the evening.
To have a great experience, the key is to seek recommendations from the servers to select good dishes.
Had a wonderful experience and plan to visit again.

The food is just delicious. Only a few can match the taste and quality and be consistent.
One must try the dim-sums which are so tasty, served with the best sauces and dips.
The dips itself will make you fall in love with this place.

Do try the rainbow sushi if you like veg with a little cheese .
The wasabi and ginger sides are kool .
The choice of the best vegetables nicely stir fried and cooked to perfection makes all the items in the main course a delicacy.

The ambience is reminiscent of garage-turned-music-studio. A waiter told me it's been kept deliberately dim. But it's bright enough to get some nice Insta clicks. The staff are polite. The food is really good. The menu layout takes some time to get the hang of. The cocktails are on-point. A bit on the expensive side.
This beautiful place in serves some extremely delicious and authentic asian foods. Specially I want mention about their sushi. I had sushi from lots of places in Kolkata but I might say that their sushi is really the best. I also want recommend CRISPY ANIMAL JUMBO PRAWNS, FUJIAN CRISPY SPRING ROLL, WHOLE SHRIMP CRYSTAL DUMPLING..
The service was really awesome and the staffs were really very well skilled. One of the must visit place in the city.
Food was nice, but the service was kind of slow. Had to ask for waiter twice for one thing. Soup was good and refreshing. More choices in mocktails will be better for office lunches.
I was disappointed that atleast the chocolate dome in the dessert could break perfectly, but it did not even if I paid that much.
