The place is in the best location for young crowd. This is a mixture of traditional Calcutta and kolkata culture. Little bit British India feeling. The fudges were awesome in taste with burgers and French fries. The crispness of fries and softness of fudge was nice. Overall a nice experience and recommended place also.
Nice place and very good ambience. They serve the best quality of food. The brownie with ice-cream is a must try.
Good for a evening date with your partner . Food quality is good but little bit expensive . Foreign liquor is available here
The traditional Hogg's Room is an old and famous restaurant in Kolkata where we had a great time visiting.. i don't konow much about other menus.. but Hogg's room has the best hot chocolate fudge I have ever had..

Ambience is so nice and tidy and it has a touch of old kolkata which is quite old fashioned but eye-catching at the same time..❤️
Location of this place is quite odd, its in the first floor of the Lindsay. Hogg's room (cafe) is well decorated with aesthetic british flavor.
We ordered -
1.Neptune (pizza), was spicy chicken pizza it's too mouthwatering.
2. The Mexico touch (burger), I love the way they decorated the burger and it's delectable to eat as well.
3.Tiramisu, As I love dessert, tried this tiramisu a coffee flavor italian dessert, and I swear it just awesome, well decorated with cherry and chocolate. .
I just loved it and love the place.

It was a nice experience with them. The theme, ambience was a little bit different, a perfect combination of Calcutta & Kolkata. Food delivery was no doubt very good. Stuff behaviour was also good. Foods are affordable & everything was a quite bright inside. One thing I should mention, you can get some bar items in this café. .

About the Ambiance,
Right on the heart of Central Kolkata, in the Lindsay Hotel at the Lindsay street, the first floor hosts a magnificent cafe where you get a pocket-friendly meal and a stunning ambiance altogether. The Hogg's Room is named after S.S.Hogg, on whom the New Market is actually named. This cafe has been molded into a 1900s ambiance where the British sehabs used to prefer to have their sip of tea. It's absolutely a perfect place to hang out or to go date if you are a college student.
About the Food,
The food and the desserts are well within 200 each. We ordered Fish n Chips, Neptune Chicken Pizza, Roasted Chicken Pizza, and Caramel Custard. All four items were delicious. I felt the Fish n Chips a little expensive, although the 'Fish' Fry had actual Bhetki fillet.
MUST-TRY: Fish n Chips, Neptune Chicken Pizza, Roasted Chicken Pizza & Caramel Custard.

This place was hard to locate. From a few months, I heard that this place had the best pan pizzas among the best eateries in the city. I tried very hard and found it. This place is located inside the Hotel Lindsay, precisely on the second floor. So, being inside a hotel we thought that this place will be a little costly, but, guess what? This place has an incredible ambiance, amazing food, and relatively very cheap in comparison to other places. I was pretty amazed by this place. I fell in love with this place. An amazing date spot to come with your loved ones and also close friends.
We tried a couple of different pan pizzas and they were lip-smacking! I also tried a few shakes such as chocolate, oreo, kit-kat, and also hot chocolate.
I will soon be back to this place and try out more stuff from their menu. A highly recommended place from my side!

Went to Hoggs room with friends and family. An amazing place to with both family and friends. The staff is very friendly and courteous. We ordered a bunch of different things:

Food was amazing and worth the price. All the items were equally tasty and yummy.The ambiance was great, like it had old calcutta vibes.I would surely visit again.

The dishes served here are qualitatively good and are served keeping in mind the value for money. 😊

▶ Ambience/Décor/Service: It is a British architecture themed inspired cafe which is beautifully decorated with checkered floors, wrought iron chairs, circular glass top tables, old Calcutta black & white pictures, wooden stairs, wall painting of old house doors gives you a nostalgic and vintage feel is a It holds a special place because of its vintage ambience, antique decors. As soon as you enter the place, you will slip back into the memory lane- the vintage decor with old telephone and clock and hanging glass lamps, will give you a taste of the colonial era. The old English music in the background can make you nostalgic. It is amazing how quiet and calm the café is, amidst the bustling New market. The service of the place is bit slow, so an improvement is required on that part.
▶ The Key USP of the place is it serves one of the amazing foods and it is quite reasonably priced. So well talking about the food, there were a lot of options and considering their recommendation from the staffs, I tried the following amazing items from the menu ❤️

It was crunchy and nice but it was more of fish fry than the fish & chips that you would think of but if you are making it fish & chips, one should serve the battered fry instead of the bread crumbed fry.

🔸 Moving on to the Main Course:
⚜️ Shen-Shah Pizza: The best pizza among the two pizzas that we had ordered. The crust was thick which we normally don't like but the toppings were good. It gave a smoky flavor because of the tandoori chicken toppings with the cherry tomatoes, jalapenos loaded with cheese.
⚜️ Neptune Pizza-The pizza was good in taste. The pizza had toppings of chicken, bell peppers and olive and it was loaded with cheese.

🔸 Lastly, the desserts complete the meal with:
⚜️Hot chocolate Fudge: The Brownie was soft loaded with vanilla ice cream and chocolaty sauce. It was simply mind blowing and delicious. (Recommended)
Starting from starter to main course to desserts everything tasted perfect. All the items were delicious and too much tasty and they give very quantity. 😋
💰Pocket pinch: - Pinch for two is ₹ 350- ₹ 500. Prices of the items are reasonable keeping in mind crowd of all ages.
▶ Overall: -Overall, I'm really very impressed with the place. It is really hidden gem of a place with good food and beautiful vintage ambience😍 This place surely grabs my recommendation for the college students after tuition classes and sudden meetup with friends after New Market shopping ❣️ Dropping in here soon to try some other lip-smacking food😊 Do pay a visit to this place, you won't regret 💕 A must visit for all. 👍🏻

The ambience reminds of an old house with checkered tiles and green shutters and photographs showing Kolkata in the old days. The food is quite cheap and tastes good though nothing extraordinary. The place is ideal for a cup of coffee and catching up with friends or going on dates where you can actually talk with each other.

The buffet breakfast spread is good. It had fresh fruits,sprouts,idli,daal vada,peas and mushroom sauteed,paratha aloo sabji,doughnuts, marble cakes,bread butter,choice of eggs,chicken,juices,tea and coffee.
Ambience is great especially the hanging lights.They give an old world charm to the room.

It’s a very underrated gem of a place with amazing food and decor. It’s my third visit here. We ordered shehen shah and four cheese pizza, loaded chicken fries and chocolate fudge. Each dish was so scrumptious, and the pizzas are a must from this place. It’s very pocket friendly too. Drop by sometime if you’re near Esplanade.

This place is a hidden gem. Its a few minutes walk from the esplanade metro station. The ambience is great . We ordered garden pizza , grilled chicken burger, veg fried dimsum and hot chocolate fudge.
All the items were pocket friendly and tastes were good. However the pizza bread could have been better. And it would have been better if the vegetables on the pizza were a bit more boiled. But the pizza was very cheesy and tasted good. It costs 145. The burger was great and costs 155. The veg dimsums were great too and costs 105 . Now the reason behind 4 stars after all so many goods is their slow service. We first ordered the pizza and burger. Finding their service a bit slow we ordered for the dimsum and dessert before completing the pizza and burger. But their service turned out so slow when it came to the dimsum and fudge. We almost decided of cancelling the order. When it came we found that they have given ice cream and brownie. I dont know whether this was their hot chocolate fudge as there was nothing hot. But we were getting so late that we decided to eat it and it really tasted great.. this place is really pocket friendly but the service is too slow

You can consider this a hidden gem . Not everyone is aware of its location but it's absolutely amazing. Ordered pizza ,burgers and French fries. I never enjoyed pizza the way I did over here. A very pocket friendly place to be right in esplanade , opposite to the simpark mall. Do drop by if you are craving for finger food along with a calm atmosphere amidst your shopping.

Words fall really short to describe this place. But in one word "amazing!!!"...😍 I reall fall in love with this place.😘 Located near New Market. Few minutes walking distance from Esplanade metro station. Let's talk about some points brief.
1. Ambience: just excellent. Their ambience is like modernization with heritage. Seating arrangement is very good. This is really one of the best place to hangout with friends or lover.
2. Food: as their ambience, their food is just outstanding, I must say!! Barbecue chicken pizza and fish and chips are much recommended from my side. And I was very much strange that the pizza was fully loaded with cheese😍. it was so cheesy as I given the pic only at ₹150!! Really appreciated. Apart from that, the fish and chips, shakes were so good. Overall food experience is just awesome.
Price: as I told before, this type of pizza is only at ₹150, I think I would never find anywhere in this planet. Compare to their ambience and food quality, Price is extremely reasonable.
They did a really good job overall. Ambience, food quality and quantity, everything is just outstanding. You should try this place atleast once, otherwise you will miss something in your life. But I will go again and again 🙂

This is one of my favourite places to eat whenever I visit Esplanade area. I love the decor and ambiance, and especially the food. I have more or less tried most of the items on the menu and love them all. What I love most is how reasonably priced the items are.
Must try items are the pizzas and the choco fudge with icecream. Apart from that, you can order fish and chips, chicken cutlet, burgers, etc.
The service is a bit slow, but overall I love this place.
This restaurant is situated in the Lindsay hotel and is easy to locate.
The ambience is really attractive. We went quiet late there so there were no other customers. It opens at 1pm noon and closes by 9 pm : The British decor and the timings!
Coming to food, I used zomato gold to get 2+2 on drinks. So, we ordered :
1. Assam Tea - tastes okayish.
2. Masala Chai - good.
3. Fish and chips : tastes nice but ,i expected more from it. The mayonnaise paste they serve with, is too little.
4. Shen shah pizza : this was amazing and is worth eating.
5. We ordered 2 smoothies - strawberry kiwi and other one i don't remember. (Tasted like vanilla though) . Anyway, both of it tasted nice too.
We paid 560 for all of it. So it's not harsh on pocket also.
I would like to visit this place again to try different dishes.
It's highly recommended. 😇

I went there with some friends of mine on 25th December, 2019. The interior has a classy touch and is quite spacious.
We ordered:
❇ Fish and Chips (the fish was very fresh and tasted amazing)
❇ Neptune Pizza (it had chicken, bell peppers and olive and it was loaded with cheese)
❇ Fish and Chicken Burger (The patties of the burgers had very less minced fish and minced chicken and was mostly loaded with potato. These disappointed us)
❇ Ferreo Shake (it was not thick and hence didn't taste good)
❇ Chocolate Fudge (it was amazing)
The service was very slow also. We had to wait for about half an hour to get our first item. The staffs were courteous though. Overall an okayish experience. But I'd love to go back here for their fish & chips and pizza.

Hogg's Room is the cafeteria of the Lindsay Hotel. It is located near new market area. The ambience of this cafe is quite good ands staffs are also friendly. Its a nice place spend time with friends. I tried there Chicken Shen-Shah Pizza, Chicken Waldorf Salad, Caramel Custard and Choco Latte. All the items were awesome and within reasonable price.
The location is sometimes hard to find. Some signs would do the work and make it easy for the people to find.
We went here on a Saturday. The place wasn't crowded. We ordered a couple of drinks and sandwich and toasts. The staff were really good as they let us know about the Zomato Gold being available here. The food was really nice. Had a fulfilling experience here. Will definitely visit again.
I was here yesterday with my friend and it was quite empty. The ambience is really classy with paintings and mirrors. The service was a bit slow but the food was really tasty and very affordable. We ordered Crunchy Chicken Burger and Chicken stuffed pizza. The quantity might seem to be less but loved how it tasted.The zomato gold offer 2+2 also worked well. Really loved being here!

Found this gem of a place hidden amidst the bustle of Esplanade. Well.. Not exactly hidden.
It's on the first floor of Hotel Lindsay. But for all my years of knowing Esplanade, I had no idea this existed. The food is excellent, very conservatively priced. And they have small number of alcoholic liquors available as well. A great place for a date, or for hanging out with the company of your choice, this place deserves a visit anytime you are in the area.
A Clandestine cafe in our city. The cafe is beautifully ordained and their pioneer attraction is the old fashioned outlook.
Food Review:
My Plan was to start my journey with their Lip smacking Monster Nachos but as they suggested for some hot or cold drinks along with would be better, so I have opted for Darjeeling Tea which was also awesome and pocket friendly. Then coming to next, we have ordered Chicken dimsum and Fish Cake ( 4 pieces in each plate). They didn't give us any opportunity to say against their quality and quantity. Both was really good. Lastly we have opted Tiramisu and Custard in our Dessert. Tiramisu is fully cream based and finely decorated with Biscuits and choco powder. Briefly I can say if you're not looking for a sumptuous cafes in Kolkata then Hogg's Room is one of the best option for you.

There's this small vintage themed cafe hidden in the busy streets of esplanade....Hogg's room...the inner decor and theme is mesmerizing ....coming to food...we had a few number of mouthwatering dishes....
1. Fish cake...165 rs.
2. Chicken dimsum...125 rs.
3. Monster nachos...85 rs.
4. Tiramisu...105 rs.
The tiramisu was extremely beautiful in presentation...and tasted as if it was melting in our mouths...but when we moved to the drinks section...we decided to try the bar menu....we ordered a low alcoholic beverage...we wanted to have breezer but they said they didn't have that one stock became empty so we decided to have an electra alcoholic...195 rs ..which was i guess a bit higher on the price side taking in account of the quantity and quality of the drink...when we were having the drink...we noticed the price of the drink printed on the label on the back side of the bottle...which said..90 rs...we were stunned...freezing charges...preservation charges do are taken into account....but still this hike on the original price excluding the gst is something that must be look into seriously....for a 275 ml bottle of that substandard quantity of drink...this price is too high...please look into the matter asap...i am sending the snaps...
We know there is a lot of taxes but double the cost doesn't sound good to me.
Never had the opportunity to go here for lunch or dinner but I did order food online on a couple of occasions and was never disappointed. Ordered dosa once and then margarita pizza on another occasion and both times the food was delicious and packed in a very nice, professional manner. Value for money. I'm very happy with the service provided.

This was the first time I was visiting this cafe and had a pleasant experience.
✓Peach ice tea- Lovely refreshing ice tea. The best part is they are using fresh tea and peach juice which you will definitely love more than the ice tea you get in other cafes.
✓Mocha iced coffee- The iced coffee was good and i like how the mocha shot is at the bottom and we need to mix it and then drink it. Also it's not watery with chunks of ice only!
✓Strawberry & kiwi smoothie- The thick shake is citrusy and sweet coming from kiwi and strawberry. You can specify if you don't want added sugar then the sweetness will be lesser. The fact remains that one glass of this smoothie is enough for your lunch. It is creamy and filling.
✓Frappe iced coffee- The iced coffee was similar to the mocha one and tasted equally good. Not too heavy, but a coffee lovers drink!
✓Fish & chips- It was more of fish fry than the fish & chips the you would think of, served with French fries. This was good but if you are making it fish & chips, one should serve the battered fry instead of the bread crumbed fry.
✓Crispy fried chicken- Similar to the fish, this was chicken fry served with French fries.
The service is a little slow but the food is fresh and needs a little improvement. The drinks were good and they are also serving liquor which was surprising. It has a royal ambience coz of the decor. The lights are fitted into big mason jars. The staff is courteous and friendly and is also up to get a feedback. I recommend this place!

This cafe is situated just opposite to Simpark Mall in Lindsay Street. The ambience is very nice and calm. The staffs were very courteous. We ordered Chicken Nachos, Chicken Cheese Sandwich, American Cole Coffee and KitKat Shake. All food items tasted delicious. Overall a good experience. Nice place to hangout with friends. Recommend for all Foodies.

New market is a place which is iconic for most Calcuttans. Its more special as it was the perfect college hangout place. New market has always been about street shopping and street food. On our last visit, which was a get-together, we just stumbled upon Hogg's Room on Zomato.
Now for this place, its very difficult to decide what best it had - the fact that it was a quite and beautiful place amidst the crowd and chaos of new market, is probably the best thing about this place, which apparently has been there for more than a year now.
Or it could also be the decor and the way it has been beautifully built up. The charm of old Calcutta, the chairs and the tables and the paintings and a really friendly staff. Their menu design was also pretty impressive, menu on the record, literally.
The food was also good - we ordered a garden fresh pizza, veg steamed dimsums, lime water and frappe. The only thing which they can improve upon are the options.
One of the hidden gems of Kolkata, I would recommend a must visit to this place. And its worth more than one visit.
Just love this place, it gives a retro feel with good food in a affordable price.. The quality of the food at this price quite good.. We ordered to many thing but it cost me less than 1000.
Nice place. Ambience is like ancient kolkata. Love this place and also the food they have served. Price is ok.

Hogg's room :
This place was being hyped for a long time and we heard it's food is being served at a low price yet amazing so thought of giving it a try.
The location of this cafe is very confusing at first coz their is no board by which we can see. After going here there we found it as it's just under the blue n beyond and on the premises of lindsay hotel.
Its on the first floor of the hotel.
The ambience is kinda retro. Nice and eye pleasing.
The foods we ordered were:-
●Fish n chips
●Chicken burger
●Loaded chicken fries
● Tiramisu
And i had zomato gold and it was on drinks(2 on 2) so i unlocked it and got the beers. But we didn't want more beers , the staff was so humble and friendly that he changed the 2drinks to 2shakes and it was really nice of them to do so.
●Oreo shake.
●Kitkat shake.
They are offering pocket friendly moderately fine food. I found their shakes and desserts comparatively better rather then their main course.
(And their loaded chicken fries was a big let down for me ).
