My favourite place for Chinese. there pan fried mixed noodles and lamb dishes are just amazing. they serve buffet on the table due to the pandemic restrictions, the buffer menu is also great but in the main course the noodle can be improved. they have an open air seating as well.
The outdoor open air seating is what i liked the most. So appropriate for these Covid times

I had been here for lunch with my office gang and we all had an amazing experience. The buffet price is extremely affordable & gives an extremely good variety of food in that amount. I tried a sushi here for the first time and just loved it.

So I was feeling very hungry after coming back from office and was craving for some spicy food... So thought of ordering Spice Coriander & Veg Su-long Bao and man I have to admit it amazing.. The Orient provides you with an amazing rooftop view and an amazing ,quiet but charming and beautiful atmosphere to dine in.
They offer their customers with amazing items from the Chinese cuisine.Their Chowmein and chicken items were simply amazing,just the perfect taste!
But unfortunately the thing which prevented me from giving them a 5 star rating on zomato was their not so amazing coconut ice cream.It was not at all nice .After having their amazing items this simply spoiled my mood!
So The Orient resturant is highly reccomended but their coconut ice cream is not at all reccomended.

The first place I visited after the lockdown and it lived upto the expectations. We had chilli pork, virgin mojito, verve and billy the kid for starters and in the main course we ordered veg ginger fried rice with supreme chicken with oyster and mushrooms. The price, including GST and ST, was 2600 for the 2 of us. The food was very tasty. The pork was soft and juicy and the chicken was well-cooked. My favourite was the fried rice because despite being plain veg., it was so full of flavour that I enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff were very helpful, maintained the hygiene practices and were very friendly. I would have given 5 stars if alcohol would be served, but it was a very nice experience of dining out after a very long time.

The place is very Classy... The Open air arrangements is very good too... Inner ambience is very impressive... Staffs are very courteous and helpful... Service is bit slow... But the food is really good here... We had their Chilli Garlic Hakka Noodles and Tanga Style Chilli Chicken... Both were very tasty and the quantity is sufficient for 2... Pocket pinch is quite high here... Still I will recommend this place for all the foodies of the town...
The food was the usual food like noodles and other starters , they added twist to it by may be experimenting a little bit. The dessert is wonderful there , i had banoffee pie which was interesting and special if you are with someone special. The price is bit costly but you would love the outside scenic view specially when it rains . They have tiramisu as dessert as well💋😍🥰overall rating 4/5

This place has a casual ambience with both indoor and outdoor seating. The dishes we tried:
Shredded chicken with dry chilli: This one literally had equal amount of chillies as chicken. The quantity as well as taste did not match up to the price.
Chilli basil mixed fried rice: Nothing extravagant but good.
Stir fried XO udon noodles: Had this in my list for long,so gave it a try. This is among their specialities. Udon noodles originate from Japan, these are thicker than normal noodles and usually flat. The soy sauce taste is distinct. Won't complain about the price considering this tasted so great!
Lamb in chilli hoisin sauce: Taste wise no complaints but the quantity was unbelievable .Not enough for more than 2 people.
Chocolate Bomb: Finally had it and have to say, it made up for the whole lunch. The banoffee pie was great,with enough vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Availing Zomato Gold,our bill for four people was within 2k,so can say it was quite a good deal. But without it,the quantity really needs improvement according to the price(there is also around 7.5% service tax excluding gst).
My favourite place to be in town ❤️.. It was yesterday on 20th Feb, a small gathering for my parents 30th anniversary and went really well, can't b better I suppose..Thank to Mr. Bikash Adhikary and other staff ( sorry I couldnt remember everyone's name)for his prompt service and awesome signature cocktails... We went their on 1st february,2020 for lunch. It is located in the B block of cc1 mall. Though the place was not so big,but it was specious with limited seats. Decoration was simple but attractive with typically chinese theme.
Coming to the food where zomato gold membership helped us a lot in our pocket pinch. We ordered orient special pad thai XOXO noodles and chicken in black pepper sauce. Taste wise noodles was a bit spicy but nice in taste. Black pepper chicken too was spicy but very good in taste. But this combination was not suitable though recommended by one of their staffs. But separately both were nice.
Another attraction was the roof top. It is mainly a smoking zone but nice for photography
Using zomato gold we paid only rs.580/- (including tax) for these two dishes. Staffs were good,polite,friendly and courtious. A nice place to spend a good time.

Went there for dim sum festival and had the non veg dimsum platter.
The pink one is minced chicken, black one is charcoal prawn, yellow was honey garlic bao or the basa preparation and the white dumpling with cut on top is the pork one. Pink one I found the best followed by the pork dumpling. Rest of them are also good.
It was great to be there. I went with my family for lunch. The staff greeted us. Jeet(wait staff) he explained us the dishes which we wanted to have and even he suggested some good items as well. Later the chef came to us to know that everything was perfect or not. Overall i really enjoyed being there and the staffs were really good. I would definitely recommend my friends to go there.
Lookout for Jeet ... if he is around with you... you have the best host.. excellent service....had the dishes served quickly and was honest for the best dishes around here...thanks

After a nice experience at their City Centre 2 (New Town) branch, this was the time to experiment with their City Centre 1 (Salt Lake) branch!
We were indeed mesmerized by the soothing ambience and the perfect hygiene maintained at the place – perhaps the place was shining like a piece of diamond, a sparkle so elegant, that we could not take off our eyes from it!
We went for a Veg chilly basil fried rice for sides and a China town cottage cheese with crunchy beans prepared with ginger flavoured sauce for mains! To our astonishment, both these dishes were served inside 5 minutes – as if they knew beforehand that we would walk in and go for the above!
Both dishes were pretty tasty, not to forget the unique food presentation – also the decent quality and quantity served!
Service also is top notch - very fast! Mind it that the above were also recommended by the attendant to us – as we were pretty confused as to what to order!
Music was excellent, variety seating is available - all in all, a perfect evening spent!
Only bottleneck is that pocket pinch is very high!

Sushi in Salmon Ponzu Aioli Sauce & Tempura Flakes Maki - one of the best sushi I ever had. It was great in taste.
Thai Basil Singapore Chili Shrimps - small pieces of shrimps with spice. Taste was good.
Lamb in Chili Hoisin Sauce - tender pieces with super taste.
Pad Thai Stir Pork Noodles - quantity was enough. Taste was very good.

This is a very good place. And staff ware very good. Dipankar who helped us a lot.
We went there on a Durga puja night. The crowd was huge and every person on the floor seemed busy. We expected a messier experience. But we were greeted properly, the foods were explained while ordering and never once were we told to hurry. And that's a huge positive specially for people who know how maximum restaurants operate during the puja days. They had a special menu prepared for puja and we don't remember the names of most of the foods that we had. For starters we had pork ribs and while they tasted great, the pieces were mainly on the fatty side. The noodles which looked like threads were amazing and so was the accompanying dish. The dessert was a surprise, coconut ice cream served on a coconut. The presentation was great. I would say the cost is very high. But I think you would know that if you are planning to go there.
We went there on panchami this Durga puja. Though the place was full, the service was very cordial and fast. We asked the server to suggest some of their signature items from the menu and ordered them. All the items were super tasty. Portion size was very good. Price of the drinks were reasonable. Had a very nice experience at this place. Surely love to go back there whenever I am in kolkata.

Sudden change of plans coupled with an serine evening made the day. It was a usual visit to the Orient which coincided with our Anniversary. We have ordered chili onion pork as starter and Sichuan noodles with chili chicken. The pork was soft and greasy with equally good noodles. Orient never compromises with food quality. The Chilli Chicken is very different from the usual chicken chilly we find in other Asian Cusine Restruants. Its worth a try. To add to the surprise our server Jeet bhai suggested two deserts both of which were over the top and unexpected. The Chocolate Bomb with Banoffee Pie an Vanilla and Coconut Ice-cream is definately worth a try. Spoiler Alert!! For choclate bomb looks can be deceiving. 😉

It's a small & cosy place for dinning. Staffs were quite welcoming and cooperative. They helped us selecting cuisines as per our taste buds.

3. Crispy Fish Basa: Fresh one, good on taste.
4. Ginger Pepper Fried Rice: Enough for 2 people, good one.

Honestly, this is one of the best places to taste Chinese and other Oriental cuisine in the Salt Lake area. The interiors were dimly lit yet colorful, with soothing Chinese music playing in the background, a classy affair altogether!

After a long stay out of Kolkata all I was craving for was a good 3 coarse meal with my love. I had visited the other outlet at City center 2 long back for some dumplings and was pretty much impressed. This time we went for their weekend special buffet available only on weekends.
We booked it through zomato..but disappointed that our name didn't feature on the pre booked list. The staff was courteous enough to overlook that and allow us a place exactly next to the live counter. The ambience was beautiful, mystic n the music was not too loud( thankfully). But soon we realized the seating tables were quite close enough to destroy the personal space as well as making it difficult to move around freely for getting food.
Coming to the food..it was heaven. The starters were served on table..they had variety as well as tasted awesome.. dumplings especially the steamed ones were lovely. They had pan fried chicken, fish , dumplings, fried potatoes for starters. The beverages were unlimited (to my joy). I had virgin mojito and sweet lime.
Live counter served crispy spring rolls which tasted heaven n the all so famous sushis. The main course offered quite a variety which included noodles, fried rice,fish , chicken, lovely prawns.the lamb stole the show.
The desserts we're also good.. but a good cake or pastry was missing. There was a dish called pineapple pops.. which were so so good..I forgot how many I had.
Over all a nice experience. Will like to visit again soon.

I m quite impressed with the great ambience n service...I had asked for special decoration of the table and my expectation was met so would really like to thank the team.. All the items were delicious, specially the noodles. The chicken and fish were both tender and full of flavours. The service is quick and prompt. Full marks to the staff for making dining at The Orient a memorable experience.
This place was on my wishlist for a long time, visiting yesterday and was pretty amazed by the decor & ambience especially their seating arrangement in small cubicles. They also serve buffet lunch but since we were looking for some light bites.

Ambiance is good, cant say great. Service needs to improve a lot. The least a customer expects fr the server is to be able suggest something from the menu. Our server suggested the first thing his eyes caught on from the open menu. Also its a difficult to understand the menu so we asked abt a few items for which again he couldn't explain anything well. That was quite a disappointment though his hospitality was good.

Honestly, going to this restaurant has forced me to change my take on oriental cuisine. The dishes on the menu are well selected. The food was very good in presentarion, taste, flavour and texture. The ambience was nice, cozy, a little bit romantic even. The manager and the staff were really courteous, polite and friendly. The prices were not very high and you get 1+1 on food if you are a zomato gold member. All of these things have allowed "The Orient" to leave an good impression upon me in my first visit. And for this, I have awarded this restaurant 5 stars and recommend to people reading this review to visit this restaurant.
I simly loved the place. Amazing ambience. The food was too good. They had a special smoking area which was impressive. We ordered a variety of food. The #basil rice was excellent. Wen it comes to #manchurian there is no doubt it serves u one of the best manchurians in town. After a long time I had #crispy chilli baby corn n it was actually crispy n not soggy. The Sushis here slightly fell short of expectation,especially after I had them at Pa Pa Ya. However, they were still full of flavor, a tiny bit drier than I would have liked. I had the Tuna, and Salmon Nigiri Sushis.
Bulgogi Pork Ribs: Fantastic ribs, juicy and soft. Easy to peel from bone.
Burmese Rice with Pak Choi: Mild flavored aromatic rice with lemongrass. Another fine dish.
Pan Fried Sizchuan Fish: Good enough for the rice.

The Orient has been on the Hit list for long. It is known for its fine dining and pan-Asian cuisine.
Location - E block, city centre. You may take the elevator to the 4th floor from opposite Wow momos. The location is top notch.
Ambience - They have indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. The outdoor seating is ideal if you're opting for hookah and alcohol. It overlooks the metro. However, it might turn a bit uncomfortable if it's too humid and smoky.
The indoor seating is comfortable. The light is a dim one with overhead lights directed on the tables. The music is unnecessary loud and doesn't go with the ambience. The place is spacious and I believe this one is more spacious than their other outlets.
Food -
Burmese fried rice with pak choi - it had a strong but pleasant lemongrass flavor. Quantity was ok. But the shrimps and eggs were very less in quantity.
Sauteed crisp fish with garlic pepper sauce - the fish was fresh. It was well cooked and the fish didn't have too much batter. It wasn't crisp though, not soggy either.The sauce went well with the rice and noodles.
Stir fried XO udon noodles - it was really good. Mild in flavour but just the right amount of spice and sweetness. It's a kind of flat noodles but less wide. Recommended.
Sushi (salmon, ponzu aioli sauce and tempura flakes maki) - recommended. The rice, the salmon, the flavor, the nori, the texture all was seamless and distinct.
Coconut ice cream - it's mildly sweet. It's served on the inside of a tender coconut. The bits of coconut and ice cream taste amazing together. Highly recommended.
Choco bomb - the presentation is what steals the show. The banofee (banana-coffee) pie had big chunks of banana. You have the option of taking chocolate or vanilla ice cream, as per your liking.
Staff - Informed and polite. However, they weren't attentive. We had to keep waiting if some need be. The service should be improved.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Orient, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The highlight of our meal was the Chicken Thai Green Curry, which I must say is a must-have; it was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spice. We also indulged in some Tempura Sushi and Shrimp Sushi, which were incredibly fresh and satisfying.
To complement our meal, I enjoyed a smooth and delicious Mai Tai cocktail. The drinks menu had a great variety, and this one hit the spot perfectly.

Fine dining chinese restaurant at City Centre shopping centres in Kolkata. The settings and service were good although the food took a bit of time to arrive. Taste was just a tad bland to my liking

Wonderful experience. I went to celebrate my partner's birthday and had a beautiful evening. The staff were very courteous and the service was excellent. We tried the Shrimp Tempura Maki (sushi) which was very good. The Chilli onion pork was my personal favourite and one of the best chilli pork I have tried till date. The Hong Kong XO noodles along with Kung Pao chicken was the perfect dish to finish off the meal. Overall a very satisfying experience.

Pretty nice lunch we had on Independence Day 2023 … loved their food but the sitting space for couples could have been a bit larger & staff behaviour a bit better.

We went on 31 dec and we were served the dishes within 5-7 minutes after ordering. The ambience is a bit dull and kids might not enjoy it. They have two separate indoor seating options so if you kids opt for the hall which has a TV.

I asked a staff to explain a flavour and he very patiently first told about what goes into the dish and then made us taste the sauce so that we can confirm if we would like the taste of the fish before ordering it.
Great Chinese option, good dumplings and noodles.

We ordered prawn fried rice, wok tossed chilli chicken and salmon fish. All the food was delicious. Specially the dessert daab ice-cream will make you visit the restaurant again. You can also enjoy the view of metro running from the Window. But be careful while paying they charged us one hard drink which we didn't order.
I had a fantastic experience there. All those dishes are exclusively exotic.. head chef ghanashyam and chef Deepak have the magic in their hand .. they prepare tastiest food which makes you happier instantly.
From rooftop to indoor seating area, from service to Asian food options, Orient has it all.
I had a great experience over there. Our dinner was quite fascinating.. Planning to visit soon to explore other food options.

Excellent food served aesthetically with care and attention to detail. All the servers were very polite and professional. Had a chance to met chef Ghanshyam who made sure we had the best foods from the menu. The ambience was very nice, with a silent view of the passing trains through the new metro line now and then.
Do try their special jasmine tea, and if you prefer to select from the liquor menu, you can go for any of their cocktails. For food, their fish, prawn and crab preparations are over the top. I personally loved their pan fried prawns and believe it to be the best I've ever had. In chef's recommendation we tried the udong egg noodles with some light chicken, which kept the bar high for the dessert.
I have a sweet tooth and a weakness for desserts. But trust me when I say this. Their coconut ice cream on custard is bound to put you on your cloud nine. The ice cream was creamy with sugary, caramelized and crunchy coconut shaving. But the show stealer was the coconut malai resembling home-curated coconut custard that the ice cream was served on. The dessert stole the show of the evening.
To have a great experience, the key is to seek recommendations from the servers to select good dishes.

Simple with sweet base and other oily soya based sauce .

The food is just delicious. Only a few can match the taste and quality and be consistent.
One must try the dim-sums which are so tasty, served with the best sauces and dips.
The dips itself will make you fall in love with this place.

Do try the rainbow sushi if you like veg with a little cheese .
The wasabi and ginger sides are kool .
The choice of the best vegetables nicely stir fried and cooked to perfection makes all the items in the main course a delicacy.

The ambience is reminiscent of garage-turned-music-studio. A waiter told me it's been kept deliberately dim. But it's bright enough to get some nice Insta clicks. The staff are polite. The food is really good. The menu layout takes some time to get the hang of. The cocktails are on-point. A bit on the expensive side.
This beautiful place in serves some extremely delicious and authentic asian foods. Specially I want mention about their sushi. I had sushi from lots of places in Kolkata but I might say that their sushi is really the best. I also want recommend CRISPY ANIMAL JUMBO PRAWNS, FUJIAN CRISPY SPRING ROLL, WHOLE SHRIMP CRYSTAL DUMPLING..
The service was really awesome and the staffs were really very well skilled. One of the must visit place in the city.
Food was nice, but the service was kind of slow. Had to ask for waiter twice for one thing. Soup was good and refreshing. More choices in mocktails will be better for office lunches.
I was disappointed that atleast the chocolate dome in the dessert could break perfectly, but it did not even if I paid that much.
