Amazing place and awesome food. Ambience to die for and hospitality is something one should experience. I f you have still not visited this place ....... do it today
Awsum ambience. Nice greeting from the owner. Both the ladies were polite . And moreover the taste of the food was awsum. Loved it. Will visit soon. And recomend all of u reading my review must visit the place once.
Pork rib chops is awsum .
One thing which i want to mention is that the quantity served in one plate is too little for one person. This is the only drawback i felt.
First of all I am in love with the atmosphere of the restaurant and the ambience. The food was awesome and the friendly nature of the representing person was so amaizing that you will feel very comfortable. I must say you can create story over the food..
The Food Storey, introduced very recently by my friends, amazed us once again today on the day of dashami when all other "so called popular" joints were over crowded at the post lunch hour. The quiet & white ambience struck me on my first visit, & on a rainy afternoon like today it was pure bliss. We enjoyed the simple yummy food just like a meal at home. It was that cosy.
Their quality is uncompromising. The fish they have for a simple fish finger is so fresh & tasty that we ordered for 2nd Sesame Fish Fingers.
Pork Chops, Fish Florentine, Fish in Cream cheese & mustard sauce & the puja special kancha lonka Mangsho were delicious.
P. S. Do not miss the Crepe for starter & Coffee Panacotta for dessert. You will thank me forever.
I wish them a long & quality journey. Do reach. You will surely enjoy their hospitality & food.
Great taste and amazing hospitality... The roasted pork ribs was great(one of the best I ever had)... Fish Florentine was also good.. A good destination for continental lovers...
A great place for good food . Take aways , catering and dine in we tried them all . Excellent quality always
Awesome environment and food.
1st Experience: 5/5
The place is very cute and aesthetic. We ordered two dishes and both were lovely. We had prawn on toast and mutton roast. Seems like this is a good place for continental food. A bit difficult to locate. They could do with a bigger hoarding outside their cafe.
Omg! This beautiful place is no less than a dreamy land. You will land up in a white cafe with not so minimal decor all around and jazz music which will add up starts to your date or family time. The food was too good . Loved it.❤️
A charming restaurant off the beaten track that serves Continental and Asian cuisines. Perfect place for a European-style slow, relaxed meal with friends and family. The price is also reasonable. The service is highly appreciable.

It's a small food joint situated in the mezzanine floor of a house. Nice peaceful ambience, white theme everywhere. Food was really good there. We ordered crispy chicken, chicken fried rice, chilly pork and friend ice cream. All the items were wonderful in taste and very well cooked. It took time to prepare the items, but the wait was well worth. Price was moderate. Would love to try again sometime.
Excellent quality food... Each and every dishes were cooked to near perfection... The owner lady (Sorry I don't know her name) was very helpful and suggestive... The price of the food are worth every bit...
Amazing food and good price. Very friendly owner and nice and cozy place to hangout with friends.
Great variety of food. Highly recommended small restaurant at a bye-lane in Southern Avenue.
An amazing place to visit with your friends and family . The food was amazing and the staff very polite . We had this chicken parmigiana ,bacon wrapped prawns and steamed chicken dim sum all of them tasted amazing .
In love with this place!! The decor is all white and amazing homely ambience.. Food is excellent out here.. The owner herself was chilling with us. She told us that the food will take little time to come as they make it fresh but the wait will be worthwhile.. And it was indeed... This restaurant doesnt make much noise in terms of advertising or promotions but do drop in for some amazing dishes..
We ordered Potato Leek Soup with Bacon, Steamed Fish with Cream Cheese and Mustard Sauce and Roasted Pork Rob Chops.. Must must visit..
This place has an all white decor. It is very picturesque and nice. We went here for lunch. For starters we ordered bacon wrapped prawn, this was just too good. And also steamed chicken dimsum, now these were very basic. They tasted more like momos. Then for main course we ordered chicken parmigiana. This was nice. It had a lightly spicy and cheesy flovour. Overall, if you visit this place bacon wrapped prawn is a must try!
Food: 4/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Staff: 4/5
Value for money: 3.8/5
On a tiring Navami midnight, as we were looking for some good quality food, we spotted this restaurant right next to Ecstasea in Desapriya park.
It was empty and we were the only customers at the place then, so we were greeted well.
DECOR: Loved the simple all white bright decor of this place with soothing music in backgroud.
This place was actually a relieve after the tiring pandal hopping.
FOOD: For food we ordered
1) CHICKEN FRIED RICE
2) CHILLI OYSTER PORK AND
3) ROASTED PEACH FLAMBÉ
CHICKEN FRIED RICE: (4/5)- The quantity and quality both were amazing.
The rice had sufficient chicken and egg in it and the quantity was sufficient for the three of us.
CHILLI OYESTER PORK: (5/5) - Loved this dish to bits.
The best part was the peas and mushroom in it along with pork which didn't have any fat.
They served lean meat and the gravy was great as well.
And lastly,
ROASTED PEACH FLAMBÉ (3/5)- Honestly had high expectations from this dish but this dessert was a let down.
Would have been better.
Still, we had a great experience and really looking forward to it.

Recently discovered this place, went there for the first time and just loved it. You should definitely go there once. We went there with a nearbuy coupon, that is a 4 course meal for 600 bucks. We had chicken noodle soup, chicken wanton, hakka noodles and fish in ginger sauce. Everything was awesome and specially the fish. Just loved it. The decor was white based and very soothing to eye. Staffs were extremely courteous. Will definitely go there again, and this time without a nearbuy coupon, so we can try other food as they have very good variety.
This is the first review in zomato I am writing ... Among many new fine restaurants in southern avenue, it's obviously one of them .... We have a nearbuy coupon and odered chicken noodle soup , fried chicken wonton, egg Hakka noodles, shredded fish in dry chili garlic sauce, and vanilla Icecream with chocolate sauce ... Cost Only 500 rs....Only except the proportion of dessert was less , every item was light yet delicious ... Will visit again ... Rating from side is 4.5, but no option... So giving a full 5 star :) !!!!
Awesome place the decor is quite interesting everything is on white... Very peaceful not too much of crowd .. Friendly staff and the foods were delicious 😋
Food storey has taken a piece of my heart! I have been wanting to go to this place from quite sometime and finally I could manage to have dinner with my friends last night. The personalised service really touched my heart. The staff was very cordial. Coming to the food.. I would rate it 4.5/5. But the coffee pannacotta is to die for. It's the best I had till date. I will go back to this place again and again just to have the coffee pannacotta. The taste is still lingering in my mouth. And oh the butterfly prawns in cheese garlic sauce is also a must must try for prawn lovers. The ambience in peaceful and the decoration is soothing to the eyes. It's a perfect place to have dinner with your loved ones.
I had this place on my list for some time now, so made a random plan to tick it off the list. Ordered peri peri chicken, cream if chicken soup, chicken steak in garlic sauce with the side of veggies and garlic bread and Panna cotta coffee.. all the dishes tasted heavenly. Panna cotta is soft and smooth. The chicken in peri peri chicken and steak was soo soft and the garlic sauce the the steak was sooooo goooooooood. The cream is chicken lacked a little bit of salt maybe you can you always add more so no complain. Only down side is the food portions are little less.
I'd been to Cafe 23 (their earlier avataar, the other side of Lansdowne Road) and I'd loved the food there. So I visited The Food Storey with the expectation of another good experience.
The intention was to enjoy my meal as opposed to random sampling ... and I was dining solo, so Prawn Cocktail and Roast Pork Rib Chops it was. The prawn cocktail was flavourful with soft prawns (as opposed to rubbery - a common problem with many eateries) in a perky sauce that got my attention. I found myself scraping remnants of sauce from the dish before I controlled myself, lest the waiter laugh at my antics.
The pork chops that followed was tender and well marinated. I temporarily forgot the starter and delved into the meat with enthusiasm. The sauce thankfully did not overpower the taste of the meat and I wolfed the entire portion without letup. I have to mention the portion is generous and with no help as I was dining alone, I chose to forgo the third course (dessert) as I was 'filled to my gills' ...
I was not disappointed with my visit in the least. The all white ambience is pleasing to the eye and the owner's charming sister who's chatty presence and watchful eye ensured a solo table did not lack attention. Certainly its a restaurant to return to.
We availed a nearbuy voucher and ordered the following items.
▪Chicken Coriander Soup
▪Crispy Chilli Fish
▪Shredded Fish in Dry chilli Garlic sauce
▪Veg Chilli Garlic Rice
▪Ice cream with Chocolate sauce
The starter was fried too much, so the fish was hardly felt, otherwise it was tasty. The Rice was very disappointing it wasn't having fine long grains. The main course dish was tasty enough.
What we loved most was the all white decor, the place seems very underrated. It definitely deserves more footfall.

Located at Southern Avenue, this place is a nice one serving yummy Continental and Asian food. It is on the floor right above the restaurant Ecstasea. The decor is nice and soothing with all white theme. The owners take care of you and suggest you dishes which is really a nice gesture.
We bought a coupon online and went there. We had ordered Chicken Coriander Soup and Crispy Chilli Fish. The soup was amazingly tasty. The fish item was a bit disappointing as there were hardly any traces of fish. Then we asked for Egg Fried Rice and Chicken in Ginger Wine Sauce. Both these dishes were very tasty. I truly loved the chicken dish which had quite a few pieces of bell-peppers. For dessert, they gave us ice-cream with chocolate sauce.
It was a nice dining experience. Visit this restaurant and you'll definitely have a great time till the end.
Cheers to food! Cheers to life!
Yesterday i visited that place to attend a friend's birthday and the food was sooo good....i loved the food especially the fish pan-fried.and the owner,Roy chowdhury ma'am deservs a special mention for her kind and gentle behaviour. I would love to visit the place again

Good food. Good ambiance. Had very friendly interaction with the people working there. It was very nice. The pan fried chilli chicken was awesome. Must try Ratatouille.
Visited this restaurant on a Friday evening for dinner. The decor is in all-white, with a large floor area and nice spacing between tables. The lady owners are very friendly and eager to give suggestions.
I started with a Potato Leek Soup. This was freshly made, flavourful, and nicely warm till the last spoon.
Then I had a Fish Florentine. This had bhetki, pureed spinach, and cheese, all baked wonderfully. This dish was really tasty.
They do not add any taxes to the bill.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. Highly recommended.
Last night me with my hubby visit * the food storey* at southern avenue recommended by a friend. After entry we found very good interior with full of brightness . Ambience of the restro is too good. Behaviour of the 2lady (owner) too friendly.. 1 of thrm come to us every time and recomended for the best dish And yes we found very good teste on the recomded dishes .. we ordered 1) cream of chicken soup ... (jst lovet it)
2) mutton roast plater ( mutton roast umm mouthwatering; with garlic bread . Too good) , 3)steaned fish with cream cheese and musturd sauce ( jeera rice with vetki fish with mustard sauce @it is also very tastefull ) 4) chocholet fondane as dessert... both of we loved all the dishes.. and yes its damn sute that we will visit againnnnnn ..
We went there for dinner, and I loved the place. The place is modelled like a quaint Victorian place, fully white, and you get greeted by the owners who are lovely and help guide through the menu.
The food is really good, and their continental menu is worth it if you love pork and bacon.
We had ordered the fish and prawn soup, a very light fish salad, pork chops, bacon wrapped chicken and mustard fish, and finished it off with coffee panacotta and lime pie. The food was scrumptious and gorgeous and the price was also reasonable for the spread.
Definitely a place I will come back to over and over again
On Nabami we actually wanted to have some seafood from Ecstasea but due to the huge crowd outside we had to change our plans. I didn't even know there was another restaurant on the first floor of that building. My friends and I didn't want to waste more time so we went ahead and decided to try out this place. From the moment I stepped in till the time I left, the whole dining experience was just wonderful. The white decor is simple but soothing to the eyes. The owner herself took care of us and assisted us. We chose to go with the Asian Menu. We ordered Crispy chillie chicken, salt and pepper prawns, Thai green chicken curry, chilli pork, vegetable padthai and mixed padthai noodles. The food arrived at a good pace. The taste was highly appetizing. I enjoyed each and every item that we ordered. But can I just say I just LOVED their salt and pepper prawns. It was DELICIOSO! The portion size was decent. The price was reasonably kept. We didn't have room for desserts so we didn't order any. All in all I had a good dining experience at this restaurant and will definitely drop in again to try their continental items.
Delicious food. Courteous staff. Beautiful decor. Serene atmosphere. Reasonable price.
A good place to visit with friends and family. The lady is extremely friendly. Her suggestions never disappoint. ☺
The Food Storey is a nice quaint place to have good continental food..We ordered Cream of Chicken Soup, Chicken Padthai Noodles and Chicken Strogonoff. The soup was okay but the other two items were delicious.Though the meal was well-prepared we had to wait for quite some time for it to arrive to our table. The quantity of the food was also pretty good. And the decor was beautiful in all whites.Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Aswm !!!!! Taste !!!!!! Fresh !!!!! Food!!!!!!! #ham #lamb #fish #deserts
The decor is simply 👌....... Aswm ambience .. nice place to hang out....
1. The food was AH-MA-ZING! I think my favorite is Fish Florentine 💛 We also ordered Grilled fish, Chicken steak and Alfredo white sauce pasta and for desserts Lemon tart ❤
2.The host is amazingg, this place is so different than the usual places because of the ambience it creates. It almost feels like you've visited a close relative for fine dining, they are so sweet and humble 💕
3. There's absolutely no compromise with food which I love the most, Every dish had a different twist to it and took us away from the mundane.
Would recommend 10/10 💮
What a gem. Loved the decor, it has an English cottage vibe. The food was super tasty. Very impressed. What a lovely place to hang out with friends. Would definitely come back again.
I had visited the place a couple of months ago... Good food and good ambience.. New types of yummy food one can jive upon.. The lady, the owner of the restaurant (possibly) had such a nice behavior towards guests greeting them well enough@.. I visited there wid a friend of mine.. We took steamed fish with cream cheese and mustard sauce along with chicken parmigiana, both the dishes were awesome, specially the fish one.. Am planning to visit the place again soon.
**** New Address : P241 Lake Road,Kolkata -700029, Kolkata 700029 ****
Location : Conveniently tucked away from the main road with ample parking on the street.
Ambience: All white decor is simply soothing to your eyes. Tastefully done on the mezzanine floor of a residential building. The climb can get adventurous though but a small climb.
Service : The owner Amritha takes care of the orders. She is well versed and suggests what best suits the guests. There were few other servers who were well trained and courteous.
Menu : Serves Asian and continental. The menu is not extensive but comprehensive. We had ordered a mistake of Asian and continental and loved the food. The quantities were just right and had distinct flavours. A meal for 2 can be 1400 ++ for a drink, starter, main course and desserts. Quite value for money.
I would rate : 4.5/ 5
European style decor with good continental food....want to sit, relax and have a sumptuous meal then all recommendations for this place. Generous staff and smiling face will always greet you. This is a hidden gem in sarat bose road.
Ambience is European chic. Food excellent. Service with a smile. We ordered steamed fish with cream cheese and mustard sauce, herb parmesan crumbed fish. Even the fresh lime soda was good

We actually wanted to visit Ecstasea but due to huge waiting time we went to this place and boy I am so glad that I went there. We ordered Asian cuisine with veg Hakka noodles, Thai mixed rice, chicken in wine sauce and pork with mushroom and broccoli. Special mention the chicken in wine sauce and Hakka noodles was amazing and also to mention the pork was nicely cooked. Then we thought of ordering a chicken steak and even the steak was good in taste. Finally we packed some cream and mushroom soup for my parents which I also tasted and found it to be yummy. And finally the ambience was amazing and the lady probably the owner was extremely humble. Overall a wonderful experience and surely pay another visit.
Lovely ambience for a Family Lunch or Dinner. Fantastic home made like continental food. Probably had the best Pork Chops in Kolkata. Service is a tad slow, but this is not really a true commercial establishment. The owners are extremely warm and make u feel right at home.
One of the best places to have good, well prepared continental food. Really good preparation at a competitive price, and they know how to maintain the authenticity of a dish. Loved it!!!
And a special mention for the decor and ambience and service must be made. It is a treat to the eye.
If you are looking for delicious continental and oriental , Then #ThisIsThePlaceToBein
Very nice hostesses, warm food, pristine decor, fantastic quality.
Must try!
I went out with my family on 8th Jan and we ordered Baked Crab, Bacon wrapped Prawn and Roast Pork Rib Chops. All the items were simply outstanding. The crab was so tasty and the Pork Ribs were juicy and succulent. The Pork meat was just melting off the bones.
The ambience is very European... pure white decor...cosy and comfortable with soft English music. The place has such a personal touch and the owners are very friendly and warm.
The best place to have continental in Calcutta! The decor and the ambience complement the food perfectly! Will definitely visit the place more often and recommend it to everyone!
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food was simply amazing. The food is of a splendid quality with excellent ingredients of international standards. The menu is varied and there are many options to choose from, be it in non veg or veg. Simply loved it. Must try.
Visited this place ..A month back .Had Roasted Lamb and it was outstanding ...And don't forget to have the Lemon Meringue Pie . I hv never had better anywhere else. I quite liked the décor too .It has a lot of sobriety and the colour theme actually soothes you , and gives u an ideal location for a special lunch or dinner.
This place has been renamed THE FOOD STOREY and is right above Ecstacy on lake road (off southern avenue)
Its rare that I would give a place 4.5 but this place really deserves it.
A lot of continental places have opened up lately but most of them pale in comparison to this one.
We ordered:
Golden friend prawn
Chicken tetrazini
Baked crab
Fish steak
Sesame fish finger
And steamed fish with something something
And barring the odd Tetrazzini, everything was awesome!!
Give it a shot. You wont be disappointed.
The decor was awesome which I liked very much.
The foods that we ordered tasted very much specially crispy chilly baby corn was awesome. We ordered chicken coriander soup ,Crispy Chili baby corn ,Chicken in Ginger Wine Sauce, Padthai Noodles and
Ice Cream with Choco Fudge Sauce.
Both the founders made it a point to attend each one of their customers which is rare nowadays. The staffs were very cordial .
Really enjoyed dining there :)
You can find my blog on Instagram at the_moody_foodie25
I visited this place for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable! We indulged on ham rosti for appetisers - a perfect combination of cheese, potato and ham. For mains, we went for the Parmesan crusted fish (perfectly cooked fish served with creamy cheese sauce) and bacon-wrapped chicken (although it wasn't my favourite dish I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys mustard in their food). The dessert was a delicious panacotta.
I highly recommend visiting Cafe 23! If the interiors don't win you over, the food will!
Superb food.....lovely ambience and very courteous staff......whatever we ordered was a hit specially the honey chicken and crepe .....and deserts were super yum the lemon pie is a must have.....all the best guys
Starters sampled: prawn cocktail, bacon wrapped prawn, crisp fried baby corn
Dinner sampled: herb and parmesan crusted fish, chicken stroganoff, bacon wrapped chicken, steamed fish with cream cheese and mustard sauce
Dessert: baked peach flambe
All this cooked/baked beautifully with a lot of TLC
I was under impression that it is just another me-to coffee shop on the street !!! But I corrected myself once I stepped in today for dinner.
Really nice cozy ambience, nicely lit interiors, minimalistic decor...and the low ceiling clearance of the mezzanine floor added to make this place really comfortable. And the hygiene factor is quite high.
The founders - Ms Rao & Ms Roy Choudhury, the 2 sisters, made it a point to attend each one of their customers seeking advice & feedback personally.
They have good offerings of Non Veg soups & are reported highly authentic in terms of taste.
Friends who ordered non-Veg dishes, spoke highly about Chicken Roast & Pork Chops & Chicken Tetrazzini. Fish Florentine was Okeish and Spinach could have been less apparently.
Cafe 23 Special Pink Pasta (combination of White & Red sauces) I won't rate high, but may be tried if you are a Pasta aficionado...
Liked their Crispy Chilli Baby Corn...
Cheese Jalapeños Pops were different...
But the jackpot were the desserts... You would bite real fresh orange pieces in the Orange shuffle and it was so yummy ...
Cocoa mixed custard was another innovative offering and was a delicacy to recommend to others...
Price wise portions / servings could have been little more, however.
Due to staff shortage service was quite delayed, and the founders repeatedly expressed their apology for the same.
Over all my opinion would be to suggest - people who want to try some authentic Continental dishes at leisure, they must try this place (specifically theirs Soups & Roasts)!!!
Lovely cozy ambience. Very easy to find, right above Ecstasea. The two ladies presumably running the place are extremely nice and are always smiling. A nice clean all white interiors. Now coming to the food, brilliant brilliant food. Ordered the Potato Leek Soup with Bacon, and Chicken Tetrazzina. Both the dishes were extremely well made and excel in taste, presentation and beauty. Won't call it cheap, but definitely affordable. Beautiful place.
Awesome food. Ambience is good and behaviour of everyone is excellent.Must try crepes with bacon or ham served with french fries and fried ice cream.
Simply loved the food...fantastic is the word...
Such a peaceful nice cozy place...lovely service ... splendid food served with a sMile :). All d best guys..keep it up..
There are times when you want to have meaningful conversations with friends over a satisfying meal minus the noisy croud and loud music. This place turned out to be exactly that, a quietly hidden gem amongst the overpacked, fake-shinier ones in Southern Avenue.
The food was well done and beautifully presented. I felt compelled to try many items on the menu, so I know I'm coming back for more.
Polite and courteous staff made us feel welcome and added to the positive experience. Try it out if you want a relaxed evening, or day, plus some divine food. They will not disappoint.
One of my favourite places.
Nearest metro- Kalighat
From Kalighat metro you take an auto and go to the Deshapriya Park crossing from there you take a right and walk for another 500m or so and then turn to the left lane in the lane it is situated in the lane of CCD just beside cafe 23.
The food is magnificent and trust me you will lick your fingers after tasting it. The variety is eccentric. Includes fish, lamb, chicken, pork, mutton. The dessert is marvellous. The staff or should i say the owners (the 2sisters own the place and run it, along with 2 chefs) are very well mannered and welcoming. The price is a bit to the upside for some, but overall you will not regret your visit.
Best continental food at affordable price...just can't imagine!!! Aesthetic ambience....nice hospitality...owner is so so kind...food quality quantity awesome...must try baked chicken
A delicious experience. An amazing tucked away gem in Lake Road that serves old classic kolkata continental cuisine. A gracious host, who is fills in with stories. And a delectable music choice, played at the exact right volume and takes you back in time. Totally recommended.
The food was awesome so as the hospitality of the staff. Totally loved the vibe. Student friendly
Fish florentine is a must try.Fish steak was also very good.Cherry on the cake was the owner of this place Sreela Rao a lovely lady with such a sweet gesture.Visiting again very soon
Visited with my friend. Nice place with cozy and clean ambiance... The quality of the food is good. Recommended others.
The restaurant was too good...food was awesome and and their service, atmosphere was very good...I'm very satisfied🥰❤️
Near my vet clinic so they allowed me to keep my cat in the basket and had really good behaviour. The place is beautiful and the food is affordable and very good!
Oh it's a awesome place with great food & ambience.
The fish is so fresh and so uniquely cooked, prawns are exotic.
I want to visit this place every time i feel to have lovely continental food.
The owner is so sweet, made us feel a homely warmth.❤️
