Came here for the atmosphere and history. Place of Nostalgia. Attraction is waiters’ unique white dress & unique cap was amazing. Food taste isn’t so good. Coffee was awful. But love atmosphere. Good place for smokers. And very good hangout place with friends also.

An awesome experience and food and service. We could see school kids to elderly people enjoying each other’s company. The staff was polite and I guess most of them have been working for the past 50+ years. They were very kind. The food was delicious and at affordable price.

Nostalgic place. It's very full nowadays and will take some time for them to process your orders. They may also charge you for things you haven't ordered and yet not give refunds which I don't like. I recommend the cold coffee with cream, it's the best here.

The ambiance exudes a charming, old-world charm, making it a favorite spot for both the young and old. The Indian Coffee is a very old and vintage coffee shop. It had a long memory, culture and traditional value. Before many famous people visited here. There are so many items to try. The environment is good and vintage. Tourists from all over the country and the world came here to see. Good place to visit and relax.

This place is different from all the branches of Indian Coffee House elsewhere in India. They have a very short menu which helps them in focusing on their bestsellers i.e. fried specialities. I tried their chicken cutlet, fish and mutton kabiraji along with the cold coffee. Mutton and fish kabiraji are a must try, while the coffee is a bit disappointing especially when the place itself is name after it. Did a food tour of Kolkata, so feel free to ask any questions and follow my reviews.

Indian Coffee House is a historical cultural place in Kolkata city and is also well-recognized by the people of the Indian sub-continent who study history and culture. However, this place is very famous for the atmosphere of it! People could enjoy different types of snacks and platters here. But the food quality is not that much appreciable considering the food price range. However, the ambiance of this place is excellent!

Indian Coffee House is all about art, culture and heritage. While the food might not be that great, people flock over here for the sake of living the heritage. This is the Legendary Coffee House in the Manna Dey's Song "Coffee House". The place is vibrant . It's a great place to reliving the place which has been opened since 1942. The waiters still wear the traditional attires and this place has tried to keep it's original ambience. It's a must visit place for the ones visiting Kolkata.

Indian Coffee House is a nostalgic heaven that beckons friends, family, and even those seeking a authentic touch. The ambiance exudes a charming, old-world charm, making it a favourite spot for both the young and old. The pocket-friendly menu adds to its allure, offering a variety of tasty items that resonate with traditional flavors. The bustling chatter of patrons and the clinking of cups created a lively atmosphere..The waiters, dressed in traditional attire, added a touch of royalty to the experience..It's not just a place to eat; it's a journey through time, where conversations flow freely upright..Its walls adorned with portraits and shelves stacked with books create a unique ambiance. A visit to this iconic establishment is a must for anyone seeking intellectual stimulation and a taste of Kolkata's cultural heritage. Must try mutton cutlets and special coffee! USP- FISH KAVIRAJI♥️

I found food a little on the higher side comparing with the overall ambience, else the taste was great. Fish cutlet was really tasty. Environment was really urban- chic- intellect kind of. People were busy in their phone, novel, laptop, coffee etc. There's also a very friendly cat hopping around tables. Overall a must visit place with your friends for light snack and gossip sesh.

The hub of students and alumni of Presidency College (and other colleges), which is located right opposite, as well as intellectuals, the Indian Coffee House is founded in 1942. Since then, it has continued to host top poets, artistes, literati and filmmakers including Satyajit Ray, Amartya Sen, Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen, Ritwik Ghatak, Narayan Gangopadhyay, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Sanjeev Chattopadhyay, Samaresh Majumdar, Subhas Mukhopadhyay and Shakti Chattopadhyay. I personally found the place to be nostalgia & history in making. The coffee House is always crowded & people are crazy about that. I felt the foods or drinks that are available are average & the pricing is also on the higher side. Generally we go to a coffee house to drink coffee but I found the coffee is not up to the mark or didn't like it at all, just a waste of money. Overall a must visit if anyone is visiting this historic place.

Very good environment and vintage look. But the quality of food is not good enough. If you want to feel the nostalgia then I would definitely suggest everyone, but not for food.

This is the oldest place in Kolkata. The Indian Coffee House. The place became a meeting place for poets, artistes, literati and people from the world of art and culture. The coffee house is famous for its adda sessions, and as the breeding place of several political and cultural personalities and movements. However, the quality of the food and drink is still good.

# The Indian Coffee House: A Classic Experience I have always heard about the legendary **Indian Coffee House** at **College Street**, but never got a chance to visit it until today. I went there with my friend, and we were both excited to see what this iconic place had to offer. We entered the two-storey building, and decided to go to the first floor, which had an open balcony overlooking the busy street. The waiters, dressed in their traditional white uniforms and turbans, greeted us warmly and showed us to our table. We quickly scanned the menu, which had a variety of dishes ranging from **50 to 200 rupees**. We ordered a **plate of chicken kabiraji** (110/-), a crispy fried chicken cutlet coated with egg, and a **cold coffee** (55/-), a refreshing drink made with milk, coffee and ice cream. We didn't have to wait long for our food, as it arrived in about **10 minutes**. The chicken kabiraji was **delicious**, with a crunchy exterior and a tender interior, served with some tangy sauce and salad. The cold coffee was **creamy** and **frothy**, with a strong coffee flavor and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. We enjoyed our meal, while admiring the **ambience** of the place, which had a vintage charm and a lively atmosphere. The tables were small and cozy, suitable for two or four people. We sat near a window, and watched the people and vehicles passing by. After finishing our food, we paid our bill through **UPI**, a convenient digital payment method, and left the place. We were **satisfied** with our experience, and felt that we had a taste of the history and culture of Kolkata. Here is my rating for the Indian Coffee House: - Food : **4/5** - Ambience : **4/5** - Staff and behaviour : **5/5** - Location : **5/5** - Budget and pricing : **4/5** **Overall : 4.4/5** I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try some authentic Bengali cuisine, and enjoy a classic coffee house experience. It is a must-visit for any food lover in Kolkata.

Indian coffee house in college street is a place that is surviving basically on nostalgia. Located in a prime location in between the book market nearest to presidency university and the calcutta university the place is always busy. Coming to the food part most of the food they make tastes very average it is recommended that one should never take their cold coffee as it is just literally a " cold " coffee, If you know what I mean. 😂 The food prices are not very high but according to the quality it is unjustified. Coming to the service part the waiters here are extremely rude and think of themselves as the boss. They will behave with you like you're their servant. Also they'll throw you out as soon as your food is finished. Now lastly coming to the atmosphere part, this is the good part that's why I keep coming over and over again for the last 7-8 years. The ambience captures the vibe of old kolkata, there are people from every age group reading books, discussing films and talking politics. Many stalwarts also visit this place. Also the best part of this place is you can smoke cigarettes while having the sips of your coffee inside only which makes the place perfect for bangalee bhodroloks who like to take a drag of their long cigarettes every other second while sipping to their favourite hot drink tea/coffee. My recommendation would be to visit this place if you're just in for going out somewhere or you're visiting Kolkata as this place is good for heritage. However if your sole purpose is eating some good food then go visit some good cafe please. My rating - 5/10

When I planned the trip to the city of Joy, the only thing I have been hearing from the young people is that I must visit this place. I finally got a step into the coffee house after the Durga Pooja celebrations. Its an old and charming building and huge dining place inside and also on the top of the house. As soon as you enter, you will start feeling nostalgic and go in the past. You will find many youngsters and old people sipping coffee or having omelette and indulged in some serious conversations. Its a place known of chattering and sharing information or discussing the history of India. Its a hub for all the artists of Kolkata who come together to discuss over a cup of coffee or smoke. t's not just a place to eat; it's a journey through time, where conversations flow freely and memories linger. A visit to Indian Coffee House is not just about the food; it's an experience that binds generations together in the heart of delightful nostalgia. I had two cup of coffee. The prices are reasonable and affordable.

All age people come here for adda (gossip) with friends, family and we almost everyone know about this nostalgic and one of the oldest place in college street, kolkata . Here food is little over-priced and not at all good at taste for me as a college student it's a loss of money. But you can go and try here once. Still I will say street food are far more tastier than here😊♥️
