Awesome and unique ambience.
Loved the place.
The quality of the staffs are up to the mark.
We tasted...

Taste meter: 4/5
Veg items like Paneer, Daal, etc.
Taste meter: 4/5
Visit and enjoy the vibes.
It has a beautiful ambience, by the river with a huge terrace. I liked most of the dishes on the buffet; especially the kosha mangsho and bhetki. The staff was polite and courteous. Overall a good experience
This is a late review. I was here for their Valentine's day celebration. The ambience is amazing. They had arranged for candle light dinner on the deck and with a full view of Ganga, the atmosphere was breathtakingly romantic. Coming to the food, they had arranged for a special buffet that included a wide variety of items- fish fry, french fry, paneer tikka for starters
For main course there was biriyani, noodles, and some side dishes i really dont remember
For desserts there was pastries, cakes, mousse. As an additional surprise they had given us a cake to cut and celebrate Valentine's day. The food could have been better and service could have been faster. Overall a good experience.
The floatel is the only floating restaurant in Kolkata and when I visited it I found it to be such a perfect place for a date.
The view of the river front, the beautifully decorated deck is such a pleasant sight!
Coming to the food it was good but could have been better at this price. They need to add more variety to the menu. I really loved their custard though , it is one of the best I have had so far. The staff are courteous and prompt.
Nice place...
The rooftop is nice... Main attraction is the River Gabga...
Nd the beautifulšš awesome ambiance...
We try the buffet... It is very nice..
Besttttttttttt restaurant. We went yesterday and we get best best service Just wow. Thanks to all stuff ššš. Aswm ambiance . Buffet also nice.
Foods are Good quality.
It does not need any introduction. We went here to celebrate Valentine's Day and it become one of the most memorable Valentine day for us.Such a Beautiful surrounding.Food was delicious. Services were prompt.Ambience up-to the mark. One must visit these place for sure.
A wonderful experience by the riverside.
A must go place for quality times with the loved ones.
If anyoneās looking for a place to go on a romantic date then my friends this is it.
The food is good and the service better.
The attendants are genuinely nice people.
It's been a amazing experience in floatel, I love the place.....bit expensive but Worthy of everything thing...I recommend people to visit at least once...
As the night grew, the lights lit up, the deck offered a 180Ā° view of the riverbanks and the breeze grew cooler. While the Ganga quietly flowed below, we tucked in our Fried Rice, Veg Hakka noodles, tangy garlic chicken and dry chilli chicken. Amidst a lot of reminiscing of old times. An ideal place for a cozy family dinner or a romantic rendezvous, the hosts are gracious. We wrapped up our dinner with sizzling hot brownies and vanilla ice cream.
Wish the evening would not end. Thanks for your care -The Bridge, Floatel
A five star for the ambience.
Amazing for a perfect date in the evening on the Ganges.
The food is a little expensive.
Taste is okish.
But the ambience will force u to sit there for hours.
Beautiful terrace.
Outdoor and indoor sitting arrangements are available.
Nice view, u can see the howrah bridge and Vidyasagar setu it's looks amazing at the night time. If you are thinking of having a romantic time with your lover I might say it's one of the best place, food is little bit costly but overall nice.
An amazing place, the view is very nice. The restaurant is located at the top floor of a small ship park on the river bank. There is an open deck to sit and have your dinner and the ambience is simply terrific. However can't say the same about the food. If they can improve the food quality it is definitely a five start.
Ambience - excellent
Food - very average
Service - average
Price - little on expensive side, but justified for such a natural ambience
I will recommend the place for some relaxed meetings and conversation
Visited as a guest with family for dinner today and enjoyed our river side table. The staff members made certain that we have everything we needed. The food was wonderful, from preparation to presentation. Mango Cheese Cake was absolutely amazing. A must try! Will definitely visit again.
A 5-star for the view from the deck. Spent a lovely evening with my family at the restaurant. One can sit at the deck for hours to enjoy the view and the mild breeze of the Ganga. Courteous staff, good food are add-ons.
Evening is the best time to visit this place. You can enjoy your meal by the side of ganges and overlooking the city. I visited in the afternoon so missed the magical experience of the evenings. Food was okay. Prices are reasonable too. A one time visit for sure.
We visited this place on a sun day afternoon.
The place is great, one side you can view Rabindra Setu another side Howrah Bridge. Its a great place to have such scenic overview. people can go for on the deck romantic Night dinner.
All the service staff are very courteous , they helped managing my little trouble 2 year old baby.
Now most important part food. We booked buffet @1299/-. There are good variety. There are all type of items chicken fish & mutton, also they served hot tandoori nan. There were 4 types of salads as well, and 5-6 desert items as well. Overall good buffet arrangement.
If I have to rate taste of food its 7 out of 10, Cost wise bit high for a-la-carte item.
There ample space in the dining area as well, which is good for babies like we have.
I found it was not much hiped because probably the location. I liked it very much.
It is a floating restaurant on the river hoogli. Although they don't sail in it at any time but the restaurant keeps floating with help of 25 anchors and move up/down by 20ft during a typical day due to high/low tide. Food quality is also pretty good along with in house made deserts like baked rasgullas. The place used to serve house made ice cream also till sometime back. Very nice place to enjoy a romantic evening with your loved one on the banks of ganga and breeze.
It's a nice place & the only floating hotel in bengal . So the sight seen is amazing .U can see both the Rabindra & vidyasagar setu from this place . Foods are quite good but servers are disgusting & they don't serve according us . Service is very bad.
One of the few theme based restaurant of Kolkata the theme is cruise on the top deck of the ship on the banks of river ganges this place is quite romantic with amazing deck view since it's a restaurant on a floating ship it gives you great view of river Ganges
Service is good taste is OK but you can ignore everything for the view and the dining experience
Went during Durga Puja, this place really welcomes you in a dear way. We were welcomed with dhaks. As we walked in we were welcomed with a warm heart and taken to our table. We took the buffet. So many varieties of dishes and desserts. Each and every dish tastes delicious. Must go at leastĀ once, the ambiance and setting will win your heart.
Floatel is a very old yet fun way to dine. If you are looking forward to organise a party which you remember forever. Floatel is the place. Its situated on the Ganges with an excellent view of the Ganges. The staff are very cheerful here.
If want to romantic dating this is one of the good place for make your partner to feel special. We planned here for candle light dinner so, our table they arrange with full of red Rose's with floating candle in jars. Ambience is so good.. but as went during Durga puja time it was little crowded.. for the ambience one should visit this place at least for once. Beside Ganges and in front British building of SBI with full of colorful lights..
Now come to food..
We choose buffet arrangements there variety i felt little less compared to other restaurants but the quality of flesh Food is very good but I think the cook is not proper to the quality raw food to turn into a delicious dish.
I like their mutton biryani and we ordered mastard ilish but taste of ilish is very nice but gravy is not so tasty..
Over all it's really nice experience
Special thanks Pooja to make it more memorable..
So if u want to make something especial please u should contact the staff of floatel..
Thank you..
birthday dinner couldn't get any better. perfect ambience, food and hospitality. looking forward to a visit during the day time. the food quality is good.
Wounderfull place.... View excellent... Internal ambination wounder full we visit on saptami time... We had ordered buffet... Our experience is very good
Had a wonderful Pujo lunch buffet at this old haunt of ours, the manager Mr Saikat (Manager) had informed us about the menu on offer plus had reserved a table for us.
Sammy, our waiter almost was like a family member and looked after us constantly be it changing plates or replacing a fork we had dropped on the floor.
Place was packed today, being Pujo but the staff were well numbered and looked after other tables impeccably.
We had so much tasty and well seasoned food with authentic spices and ghee and oil being used in the correct amount, one could taste the flavour of each dish even after eating spoonfuls.
The view of Ganga flowing by as we ate added to the charm of the food and the ambience which in this case is unmatched in all Kolkata and/or throughout India.
All in all this place has left me with great memories of Pujo buffet and everything that signifies the best there is to offer in Kolkata during Durga Pujo.
Words are less to describe...the banquet are such adorable...the tasty food..well decorated place in the Ganges...definitely win heart.. i just love the meal specifically the salads, starters and the desserts are...ā”ā”ā”ā”ā” wanna go again!!
From the food to the ambience everything was just upto the mark. A perfect place of romantic dinner with your partner. I took my fiancƩe on her birthday and she was too Happy to be there and felt special. Overlooking the Ganges and the scenery was outregeous. Though expensive but worth every penny
Love this place, situated in Ganga. Ideal for couples for date with your loved one just to make your loved one special. Too romantic, though i went with my cousins š boo booš, name of the dish is really innovative like Jalpari! We ordered too but it wasn't available to serve, we had one fish nd chicken starter sorry i completely forget the name, mixed friend rice, matar naan, chicken nd fish as main course. Sizzling brownie and a mousse in desert.
I have shared below the creativity done with water melon One more thing price is too expensive but do try once.
Nice place to have lunch & dinner. One can enjoy food with family and friends. Great place for a romantic date. Parking place is available. Food is good. Staff behaviour is also good.
The best part of this restaurant is its location! Floating on the river ganga! If you want the view, please visit the restaurant for lunch! Coming to the food, the food is quite decent. We ordered chinese soups and chinese non veg starters which were quite decent. For mains we ordered chicken biriyani and chicken tikka masala. Both the dishes had no salt in them so we needed to add extra salt. Overall a decent place to visit.
Hello folks!!
So let's start with some ratings first-
Food- 3/5
Ambience-4.5/5
Delivery- 3/5
Staff behaviour- 4/5
Overall rating- 3.6/5
So last sunday we visited this place for lunch and went for ala carte over buffet. We ordered for Tandoori Chicken Platter, Chicken Afgani Kebab and Hakka Noodles( mixed, non veg). They made us wait for so long to serve the dishes but the serene ambience made the waiting worthwhile!! The dishes did not taste as per the price ( even the local restaurants serve much tastier foods than them!!). But overall it was a nice experience. If you want to enjoy the beautiful view of river while having a fine dining with your beloved one, this place should top your list!š Otherwise this place is a little overpriced and cannot be a heaven for food lovers...
Last sunday went for lunch to floatel, first of all the weather created a perfect gateway & secondly the location was beautiful. The buffet lunch was incredible with such soothing ambience & their service is extremely well. I realy loved the palak corn dish & the caramel pudding is to look out for. Only thing is their yellow dal is too sweet so if they can see to that & well balance the taste. I would have surely given a 5 star rating if not for this small drawback.
Went for a Sunday lunch...nice ambience with a great view of the Ganges...food was good and tasty...however, some more items could have been added to the starters list..Staff was very good..cheers..
We went to this lovely place for a family get together and it indeed was a great outing. The view from this place a awesome.. Some good weather makes it even better. The buffet spread was really nice especially the non veg menu with 5 non-vegetarian items. The veg food could be a little better especially in terms of the taste. The service was great too... Very warm and prompt. Thank for a lovely lunch outing. Just one suggestion... Please keep at least one drink option along with the buffet.
The ambience ,view and the concept of the restaurant is totally mesmerising and enthralling.
the setting is perfect for dinner dates for couples or even a special evening with the family.
They have outdoor as well as indoor seating arrangement.
We had ordered Papri Jhinga(tandoori prawns) as starters which was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. For main course we ordered Italian fish sizzler and it was heavenly, all the flavours we balanced , fish was nicely cooked ,just delightful.
On the recommendation of our server we also ordered Moroccan lemon chicken steak but the chicken was overcooked and had become dry and hard and the sauce didn't go quite well with it as well. We relayed our disappointment with the chicken to the chef but he kept justifying that and we were served complimentary rasgullas.
Also the sweet lime soda was too salty so had to return it ,though they fixed it the second time around.
They didnt have much variety in seafood , neither crabs nor lobsters.
The service was excellent and beyond expectations.we were really impressed by the polite and amiable staff.
Ambience:5
Food:3.5
Service:5
Value for money:4
It's a must visit place if not for anything then just for the unique experience and the amazing view of the Ganges and the Howrah bridge while sitting literally on the river.
This place was in our wishlist and one fine afternoon me and went here to have lunch.
The indoor seating arrangment is very basic and neat with big windows giving the view of Ganges. You absolutely feel like you are dining on a lounge. The outdoor seating part is perfect for a romantic dinner.
Due to the sun we chose to seat indoors We took two dishes and one mocktail.
ā¢Moroccan Grilled Chicken-A big and succulent chicken breast piece slowly cooked to perfection in mushroom sauce served on a bed of mashed potatoes and veggies.Loved this one.
ā¢Pan Asian Loaded Sizzler-This is a chinese sizzler with 6-8 pieces of chicken drumstick which tasted good. But the noodles was very ordinary.
ā¢Midsummer's punch-This was a nice mocktail. It was made of pineapple and orange juice topped with fresh cream.
We later enjoyed fresh lime soda and sunset from the outdoor seating area. The view is very beautiful and romantic.
Liked the food but it is overpriced.
The staffs are friendly.
Had a great time here.
Ambience is really great! Went for the lunch buffet on Poela Baishakh! Menu was fantastic! Only thing is that there was not a good variety of food for thw vegetarian!
Went for the buffet. It was simply superb and outstanding. The food items were fresh and awesome in taste. Waiters were friendly and fast in terms of service. Loved the breeze and the overcast conditions of that day, which made it memorable indeed.
Went there once on 24th December evening.
The buffet was awesome but the price was bit high.
The ambiance was good.
I like the view of the waterside from the restaurant.
I went there with my girlfriend on 24th December to give her a service.
We really liked there buffet.
The price was little high.
Classy environment at night.
The Bridge is on the top floor of Flotel, opposite to the Compass Room.
Here you can have buffet or ala carte.
The candle light dinner experience and the view of the Ganga with the breeze.
The service is good and the price is alright.
The food is good out here.
Drunken Prawns ,the prawns are fried and mixed with wine.
Served with salads.
The prawns could have tasted better.
The kebabs were tasty served with salads and they melted inside the mouth once you bite it.
The drinks were served here with peanuts.
The pinacolada is something that tastes good as it had pineapple juice, white rum and coconut milk.
Overall a good place with the view and breeze.
Ambience is the most potent USP of this place. Food was nowhere as bad as mentioned in some of the reviews. That being said a good place for a quiet, special dinner.
4 * only for the ambience or rather the concept ... loved the view, the setting... the train passing by ... food was okie, slightly over priced I would say (may be coz of the uniqueness of the setting) ... quality of staff, table settings, cleanliness etc. we're so so ...
An one time visit as mentioned earlier just for the setting..
Visited today ... Location is beautiful ... Its a perfect place to go for a date ... Roof top view and cool breeze will made your day ... Staffs are courteous ... Food is also nice ... However, they can improve the serving time as it was taking too long ... Overall, a great place to visit once more ... Utsab Chakraborty
This place was in my wishlist since a long time and the main attraction here is the outdoor seating arrangement which gives a view of the Ganges and it is perfect for a romantic lunch or candlelight dinner.
We went here to have lunch.
The prices of food in Ala Carte menu is slightly over pricred we felt.
Anyway,we had a Midsummer's punch mocktail,Pan Asian sizzler loaded chicken,Moroccan grilled chicken in lemon butter and mushroom sauce, fresh lime soda.
ā¢Midsummer's Punch-The mocktail was topped with fresh cream and tasted good.It had a nice pineapple and orangish flavour.
ā¢Moroccan grilled chicken-Two pieces of chicken breast grilled to perfection and cooked in mushroom sauce tasted good.It was served with mashed potato and veggies.
ā¢Pan Asian Loaded Chicken Sizzler-6 pieces of chicken drumstick cooked nicely in a semi spicy sauce served with noodles on a sizzling base. The chicken tasted good. The noodles tasted very average and the quantity of noodles was really not satisfactory.Price of this is 700/-
Service is prompt and the staffs are friendly.
The indoor seating arrangement is very basic and neat.
The open air seating arrangement is absolutely amazing.
Our bill was around 2k.They levy only 5% GST.
Overall,we had a nice experience here.
Brilliant ambiance. Picturesque river view through life size windows creates the most surreal atmosphere ever. The outdoor dinning area on the deck hovering over the Ganges is a lifetime experience.
Food is pricy but finger licking delicious.
The restaurant serves the finest continental food. Varied range of seafood platter to suit any seafood lovers fantasy. Lovely option for romantic dinner.
If you want view then this place is breathtaking. Personally I feel the best time to visit is during sunset because you get to sit on the deck and see the sun going down over the River Ganges and then the city waking up in the distance amidst the neon lights. The candle lit dinner arrangement here is superb. Cool breeze blowing over the Ganges, shimmery dim light of the candle and a glass of wine indeed creates an enchanting atmosphere!!!
But the staff here really needs to get much more efficient and punctual and the quality of food might be improved a tad bit too.
All said and done, one must definitely try the prawn cocktail here..it's really delicious!
Ambience is truly worth experiencing..
But customer service needs a serious upliftment..
Order were brought to us haphazardly.. also few wrong orders were brought..
This place should have been more customer pleasing since it's right in the heart of the city on the river...
I was too xcited to go that place..nd finaly im here on last Saraswati Puja! Bt nt lyk that much i xpect.. it was just good!!! Food was not soo satified!! I order Chicken stater nd Motton but both wer a little hard!! Service was good enough, bt ambience sud b more bettr!!!
Have been there with my whole family at new year eve..awesome place..staff is very polite and CO-operative..!! Though they didnāt allow us to sit outside..still we loved the ambience and food
The restaurant is by the river so as you might have guessed, the view is great. You need to to cross a literal bridge over the river to board the floating ship onto the Bridge (the restaurant). The restaurant is situated on the top deck with an amazing view of the river and the howrah bridge. The sunset looked amazing from there. The bridge also has a bar (I don't drink so I can't say how it is). The outdoor deck also looked amazing.
We started off with a chicken soup. Twas good. The pictures came great though. We then asked for the lobster but they are our of it so we asked the waiter himself what he'd recommend. He asked us to try the green chilli chicken and it was good. The flavour went deep into the chicken and tasted great.
We then ordered two grilled chicken steak sizzlers. The presentation looked great but unfortunately the chicken was over cooked. We told the waiter that but apparently he didn't understand or didn't even try to convey it ahead. However the overall view was good. We didn't have time in our hands so we dashed out. The sky was dusky and we were greeted by the lit up SBI building on the opposite side. Trivia : there's a train line crossing you have to cross first before you get to the restaurant. When a train is to pass, the gates close and the crossing bars come down.
One of the finest banquet dining experiences I've ever had. Located at the top deck of Floatel, The Bridge offers you to indulge in a wide range of delicacies with a super scenic backdrop. Both buffet and ala carte menus are available. This place has both indoor & outdoor sitting facilities. Cocktail & mocktails taste exotic. You can enjoy the cool breeze of Ganges while sipping your drinks. The best time to visit is late afternoon. The staff are very courteous. Highly recommended both for romantic date & family dining.
A beautiful restaurant in an excellent location with a serene view and a classy ambience.
Perfect place for a romantic date.
Also for a nice family dinner.
Though priced at a higher side..it serves some tasty dishes.. Everyone must give it a try.
To all the couples, trust me.. it's worth it..thank me laterš
Buffet and Ala Carte both are available.
Buffet @1500+gst
They also take online reservations.
BOATHOUSE ,as name describes is a cafe and bistro resides on a floating boat . Its a nice pleasant place to hang out or to site and enjoy the beauty of kolkata with the scenric view of river. Its a very good for a romantic date with ur loved onceās. The entry of the hotel and cafe is very dramatic as we have to cross a railway line to enter the place.
Good place to dine out. Beautiful ambiance and surroundings on the river. You can see both howrah bridge and vivekananda setu from the deck. Food taste is good but quantity is a little bit less comparative to price. After placing the order you have to wait 40 to 45 minutes to get the food. This should be improve.
I hadnāt been back here since 2019 after which Floatel was bought by a new entity who spent more than two years renovating it & what a wonderful job theyāve done.
We had an amazing lunch on Shaptami. Serving staff was very courteous though a bit busy due to the immense amount of customers coming in.
Food tasted excellent & with the sumptuous new decor & wonderful view of the Ganges on a cloudy day, this was a wonderful experience for me.
The Bridge Restaurant is Located on the 3rd Floor of Polo Floatel. The ambiance is really nice as you will get to see Howrah Bridge and the River Hugli (Ganges) just beside your Dining Table. The place has got Buffet and Ala Carte as well as Breverrages ( Alcohol ). They have both Continental and Mughal Dishes. The Top is a bar and open Air Pub. A must visit for Couple and Family.
Amazing place. Ambience is superb, staff and crew members are well mannered. Food quality is too good. It's situated opposite of SBI Headquarter.
Enjoy winter sunsets with "High Tea by the Ganges" šš
Once you've lived life with high tea, you'd be hard-pressed to get through the evening without it. High tea is the British tradition of drinking tea while sitting in high-backed chairs at a table full of plated items such asĀ cold meats, vegetables, tarts, sandwiches, macarons, salad, homemade bread or crackers with butter, teacakes and fruitcakes.
Exquisitely restored and refurbished, Polo Floatel opens doors in the City of Joy with a view like no other. The hotelās all day multi-cuisine restaurant, The Bridge - Bistro Bar, offers a vast selection of modern and regionally inspired delicacies along with innovative cocktails and spectacular city views. The thoughtfully curated menu is based on three pillars ā the Hotel Polo Towers Group`s rich North East heritage, old Calcutta favorites and the chefās modern take on comfort food.
Nice place to hangout. Beautiful ambience with good food quality.
I went with my wife on 25th December 21. Awesome place to enjoy stunning view of sun set on the Ganges with some snacks. I would recommend a visit at least once to this place.
I have gone there in the afternoon around 5:30 PM. Some conference was going on in the dining at the top, so the authority told us to sit in the ground floor. But we objected and then they arranged for a rooftop seat, which was amazing. You can see the second and the first hoogly bridge. The parking is also nice. The best is the view of the Ganges. It was awesome. We ordered some cold coffee and enjoyed the sunset. The evening lights were very nice and we enjoyed them thoroughly. I would definitely recommend to visit here once, possibly in the afternoon.
Currently ship is not available and as per service Staff, it will take 5 to 6 months to resume the service. You have to eat outside.
Pretty place, great for a date or an evening out with family.
The prices are on the higher side but is justified by the quality and ambiance.
Highly recommended for meetups
The place is great. The atmosphere is very refreshing. The food was amazing. Staff are knowledgeable. Service was so so.
This a place I wasn't believed that this types of restaurant is actually exist in Kolkata nut when I go there , oh my god, it actually exist. The place is very nice. The most important and beautiful this is the view left side 'Vidyasagar Setu' and right side Howrah Bridge.and you can see Boats and the rever and going.Great place . In my opinion price of foods are Overpriced.without that This is Great Great.
The Bridge is the casual dining restaurant at the Polo Floatel. Walking the plank to enter the ship ā themed hotel, I was immediately taken in by how vibrant the dĆ©cor was.
Iād expected the hotel/ restaurant to bob & was disappointed when it didnāt. We chose to sit inside as the weather was pretty airless.
Soon we were munching on a kebab platter in which all the types were succulent. An Assam Tea Spritzer performed the role of the perfect accompaniment.
EntrƩe was a Kolkata Chicken Biryani. What makes a Kolkata Biryani different is the inclusion of potatoes apart from the main meat.
We called it a night with a set of pictures on the Sky Deck. The soft sound of the river in front of us & the shimmering lights of the Howrah Bridge made for a fitting end.
