Ordered mughlai paratha, on time delivery, packaging was so so, not very good. Prices are okay as per quantity and quality. The paratha was soft and tasty and the aloor dom was also yummy, accompanied with salad. Quantity enough for one with medium appetite. Had a great dinner, wanna try again in future😊

Well I had discovered this joint at the recent food festival and been so delighted to have this delicious fish kochuri and hasher dim(duck egg) Devil with layers of minced mutton and then batter fried. It’s heavenly in true sense. Starting from the Kabiraji to the simple chicken pakora, it’s just wins yours taste buds. A must visit if you are visiting Kolkata and a must visit if you stay here. It’s a 5/5 on everything ❤️
This place was so hyped so thought to visit this place and tried some of their items which i wanted to have for a long time.
•Fish Kachori:- I wanted to have this for so long and it didn't dissapoint me. It tasted really good and their was thick layer of fish inside the kachori. It was served with aloo dum which was lipsmacking.(5/5)
•Egg devil:- This was also good. It had a crunchy layer outside with a whole egg inside.There was layering between the egg and the crunch layer and it was most probably mutton keema. It tasted good was price was on the higher side.(4/5)

This place is very famous in south Kolkata. One of the best fast food shop. Located near kalighat kali temple.
Few days ago I visited this shop and I tried their hasher dimer devil or duck egg devil, it was just superb. I loved the stuffing and the taste.
And I tried bheti fish kabiraji, it was lovely. Fish was nice and coating was perfect. Taste was really so good. I loved it.
Price also affordable. Service was good.
It's a small takeaway store in kalighat. But it amuses me to see that such a small store can prepare such high quality food items. I have tried many other food items from here but I got only this pic. Everything they make are so big in size, that a single piece of anything can fill your appetite.. and the quality is off the limits👌🏻. I would tell you guys to check this place out and specially try out their fish and chicken kabirajiis, they taste awesome.
My wife suggested that I order some fish fries from here. I consented and wasn't disappointed. So filling and delicious it was that I am definitely going to have some today before I leave Kolkata. I highly recommend it.

Its an authentic outlet which was built in the year 1989. You will have most of the fish items as well as chicken and mutton too. Like fish fry, diamond fish fry, mutton keema chop, chicken chop etc.

It has been decades, since they started serving their delicious wonders. Their Fish Fry, Mutton Shingara and Mutton Kabiraji are the most famous servings. I tried their Fish Fry and Fish Kabiraji and it was heaven! Probably the best Fish Fry I ever had and the Fish Kabiraji also made it's mark. Fresh fish, thick Bhetki fillet made it worth every penny.
P.S- Many of us might think that it is quite overpriced, but to maintain the quality of the product, price has to be a little high. To me, paying a bit more for good quality food is acceptable.
I was really influenced by this place. I don't know why i find their everything too good. They are the example that old is gold if well maintained.
A good fishfry totally depends on a good fillet of fish..that is what they serve.
They serve the large fish fry with a quality fish fillet covered with crispy bread crumbs along with white simai..the addition of white simai to the general crumbs..give another level of crispiness. The kasundi they serve is flavorful too..the alu bhaja with fish fry can win over the french fries of 5 stars..
The mutton keema sighara also tastes good.
The only thing i disliked there..was a placard..saying..Apanjan: আসল ভেটকি মাছের ফিশ ফ্রাই পাওয়া যায়..

Apanjan is a very well known popular place to all the people of South Kolkata and there is hardly anything new to share. Located near Kalighat metro station (Sadanand Road,Kali Temple Gate) this place remains always crowded, frankly I've never seen this place empty once in my life. Main attraction are definitely Fish Fry, Mutton Cutlet, Mutton Samosa and Fish Chop.
Few points to remember before visiting the place:-
1. No seating arrangements available, better opt for takeaway
2. If you're planning to visit the place make sure you do that before 7pm otherwise most of the items will be sold out and unavailable.
3. Though it's a proper roadside food joint but the prices are bit on the upper side (e.g- Fish fry comes in three variants as small, medium, large and are priced as 120,140,160 respectively)
4. Don't expect any sort of ambience or ambiance (whatever you say) as you will be literally having your food standing in footpath.
This is one of the oldest yet one of the best places to have kabirajis and cutlets . According to me they serve the best kabirajis , considering the quality of product served the price is reasonablly good.
Hygiene is well maintained , remains crowed throughout the day , hence you need to be paitient to have your food . I tried their chicken kabiraji , fish kabiraji and I liked both of them equally, the size of the kabirajis were huge and having one entirely yourself would make you run for about 4 more hours .

This is a fast food joint running more than 60 years serving one of the best cutlets and moughlai in Kolkata. we tried mutton singara which was just too tasty with full of mutton keema. we also ate fish kachuri ,mutton mughlai and egg devil.All the items were very good with pocket friendly price.
If you want to know how does Bengali starters taste like, you should visit this place. It has a clumsy outlook, but food is horrendously tasty that might make your purse empty!

Don't go by the appearance of this place since great things comes in small packages. This place is a hidden gem and is known for Mutton Singara, Fish Fry, Chicken/Mutton Kabiraji and Fish Orly. The stuffing is really really good and tasty. The price is a tad bit on the expensive side and mutton singaras are often sold out by 7. So, hurry People 😊

Small but still crowdy. Dishes gets over by 8-8.30pm. Ambiance is below avarage but still best as they still hold their old tradition.
Among Some popular dishes i tried fish dimond fry-180/- mutton egg devil -60/- price is very high but still they tastes just awesome. Thick layer of Fish was just tempting and you will get the feel of mutton keema along with a full egg boiled in that devil. Must try once.

This is basically a takeaway outlet located in the bylanes of Rashbehari. It is just 4-5 minute walk from Rashbehari metro. The prices of the food here are pocket friendly and you can indulge yourself in some epic foodgasmic experience without burning a whole in your pocket. I recently happened to try out the following items:

4. Mughlai Paratha (Chicken)
I really loved the Chicken fowl cutlet which cost me just Rs 100/- I would highly recommend this to you. The Chicken Kabiraji too was immaculately made and it tasted great. 8 pieces of Chicken Dimsum are provided for a mere Rs 100/-. This too was brilliantly made. However, I felt that there is a room for improvement in the Mughlai paratha

Another Foodie's paradise situated at one of the lanes at Southern Kolkata. There isn't any sitting arrangement and basically a takeaway counter. The place generally remains crowded in the evenings but the taste of the cutlets worth every minute!!! Their Fowl cutlet is juicy from inside crunchy from outside. The fish which they provide is top quality. The food is mainly fried bengali snacks, so the shop operates from afternoon till 9 at night but most of the items are sold by 6 pm. I have tasted large and medium fish fry, mutton braised cutlet, vegetable chop and fish roll. The fish roll is simply brilliant and is the best that I have eaten. The place is take away mostly but you can stand and eat infront of the shop if hygiene is not an issue. Overall hugely recommended.

This place is indeed a hidden gem of south Kolkata. A really tiny shop in sadananda road. Their fish items are just amazing. I tried their medium and large size fish fry. Both the sizes were good but the big one is really big which can be easily shared by 2 people. We then being curious tried their fish kabiraji which turned out to be better. Well enjoyed the food.
Had ordered fish fry and chicken leg fry. Awesome taste..especially the fish fry..

Located at the bylanes of Kalighat, you can find this tiny joint crowded at any time of the day. Being an avid lover of fish fry, this place was in my wish list since long. Finally I took time to pay a visit here and try out their well- known fish fry. They had three sizes for the fish fry. I opted for the large size.
A huge piece of bhetki is marinated in some green spices and then coated and deep fried. The fish inside was very soft and juicy. It is one of the finest fish fry I had in Kolkata. The fish fry is huge enough to suffice the hunger of a single person. The bhetki provided was of very fine quality which justifies the steep pricing of the fish fry.

No sitting arrangement, one has to stand in the footpath and eat but nobody complains , another option is home delivery via delivery apps but the hot freshness of fries just coming out of the boiling oil will be missing in home delivery. They take out the items from display box and fry them instantly. Though fish items are their forte and 7-8 kinds of fish items are available all the time but chicken, mutton items and even the radhaballavis are also mouth watering. I tried their fish fry, fish roll, fish pasinda, chicken cutlet, mughlai paratha, egg devil at different times and different occasions and found all of them to be excellent. Fish items are to die for, they use real kolkata vetki, neither bombay vetki not basa, since the ingredients are genuine ,the price is quite high but excellent quality and quantity will compensate for that. Recenty I went to this place to try their famous mutton singara, but unfortunately they didn't make mutton singara that day. So I tried fish fry which was so crispy and chicken singara. Thought its a lil putlet out there but the quality and taste of food is top notch. Its always full with crowds waiting in queue for atleast 30mins after placing there order. In their fish items they use original bengal bhetki fish. Some of their must have are fish cutlet, fish kabiraji, fish fry, mutton cutlet and mutton samosa. A must visit.
Onek sunechi, onek din aageo khechi, tokhon onek kom dam chilo. Ekhon abar khelam fish fry. Amar mone hoe eta best in kolkata. Kolkatae sobar ekbar test kora uchit.

Been hearing about this eatery from friends. So I decided to try it out.
Got or their Mutton Shingara ( samosa) home delivered. The shingara was well made , crunchy on the outside. The filling was tasty and had a decent filling of mutton kheema masala and it had a overwhelming flavour of cinnamon which is ok with me . However , the filling tasted sweet , which was interesting but I would have preferred more spicy and a little more balance between cinnamon and other flavors.
Later, also ordered their fish kobiraji and the fish fry which were delectable and left me craving for more.

A Giant and a legend among the streetfood-shops of kolkata.
Everytime I go to kolkata, invariably I land up in front of this shop.
They don't have any seating arrangements. People either take away in small paper packs or eat the food standing nearby. All types of fried fish, egg devils , chops and cutlets - the Raj era specialities are carried on in glorious colour, here.
I have not found any deterioration in taste. Rather they are still having a high quality in size and taste. Brilliant.
It's surprising how they can focus on different people shouting orders at them and how they can notice and remember about whose orders are to be prepared earlier , as per when the person came! astonishing.
Sometimes it takes lot of time and frequently the items finish in a very short time and I have had to return empty handed.

Favourite shop for bengali snacks. Dimsum roll tgat I found very unique is really tasty. Egg devils were just made to perfection. And the chicken kobiraji was just marvellous. The quality of ingredients used especially oil was very good. Very reasonably priced, portion size was good and taste was awesome.
One of the oldest street food shop in kolkata. Indulged in food they provide from my childhood days. Chicken kabiraji, egg mutton devil, fish items, moghlai paratha are absolutely great. But somewhere the quality has fallen a little bit.
A lovely place to indulge in lip-smacking food. I visited this place with my friend and we ordered for a chicken kabiraji, fish fry and pulao with chicken kasa. All the items were just too good to taste. The quantity of food is quite good and service is prompt. Highly recommended!

Finally got to eat at this renowned place on Nabami of Durga Pujo this year. We ordered a Medium Fish Fry (Rs. 180) and a Fish Orly (Rs. 130) and loved both. The fish fillet in the both the items was fresh, moist, and quite thick. The coating was perfectly crisp and not too thick. The orly was a bit oily though since it was refried.
Really surprised with the standards they maintained during the Pujo rush and can't wait to visit them again!

firstly i got disappointed as they don't sell the famous mutton singara on Thursday! after that the fish fry n fish orli tasted sweet which was not expected at all! The only satisfying thing was the quality n quantity of the fish. it was undoubtedly fresh n original vetki.
We tried fish fry ( large) , fish orli and chicken kabiraji.. The fish items were awesome. Chicken kabiraji was average. Had to wait for 5 minutes. Cash and UPI accepted. About 3-5 mins walk from Rashbihari More.

One of the best counter of fast foods in South Kolkata. There are lots of mouth watering items. I have tasted 3-4 items there. The authentic item I tasted there, Fish Kachori with Alur dam. For this item, you must reach there within 12 to 1 p.m. Apanjan's Diamond fish fry is the best fish fry in Kolkata. Also, Fish Kabiraji, Fish Worli very tasty here.
