My father buyed some Pantua and shankh sandesh from here and I loved it very much as I am a nolen gurr lover and the sandesh was too good..the Pantua was juicy and mind-blowing too
While everyone is talking about sweets i must say they have one of the best sweets but my fav is dhokla super spongy but the best part are the chutneys that come along with it
I bet these are best chutneys in town😍
This shop is one of the best sweet shop you can find in Kolkata region. I bet that no one can have only one sweet when in this place .😉
So better keep count on your calories before heading into this small sweet place. 😁
Like Mithai Vien is also a favorite of mine...love their singara and sandesh especially the nolen gur ones..mom likes their Lyangcha, darbesh..their doi is also nice. This shop reminds me of my father...he used to bring sandesh for us...recommendable 👍
When at Kolkata you must visit here for awesome mouth watering sweet dishes. Awesome rasgullas... Love being here for gur ke mithai. Very well behaved people.
One of the best shops for hot fresh rasgullas and Misti doi. These are the delicacies and stand out. They also serve lucki and cholar daal which simple, yet tasty. Overall a great shop
Been to this place many times, serves good quality snacks, and hygienic as well. There style of frying the puri is a bit different, and the puri sabji is a hot selling item along with there special sweets. The almost 6inch long langcha is a challenge to finish. Overall nice place to have some morning breakfast or evening snacks.
The sweets here find their way in most of d occasion in our office.... Sandesh, gulab jamuns are my favs from here...
I have nt stepped into their outlet but then atleast twice to thrice in a month find myself with a packet of sweets from their outlet..
This sweet confectionary is situated near the Shakespeare Sarani Police Station.
Service is good.
Shop is clean.
Tried their Nolengur Sondesh & Singaara. Both were fresh and awesome with a reasonable price tag.
This shop is situated just beside the Shakespeare sarani police station. Boy o boy do they make some mean sweets! The nolen gur rosogolla is at 12 for small size and 18 for the big one. Oh pure bliss it is. Must try.
This is a must visit shop for every samosa and rasgulla lover out there! I have visited this shop innumerable times and have tried so many of their sweet items...But somehow nothing matches the taste of their rasgulla and rasmalai! They also serve nolen gurer rasgulla but that's a seasonal affair!
Their samosas are to die for! They have a comparatively thin outer covering compared to most other samosas and the potato filling is really tasty! A must visit for all :)
Had heard a lot about this sweet factory so based on the positive reviews I had gone there to treat my sweet tooth!
I totally succeeded in that :)
Had tasted sondesh..chamcham & nolen gurer rasmalai there. They were awesome especially the one with nolen gur flavour 😍
Thumbs up for this place!!
Located in Theatre Road, this place is one of the oldest sweet shops in the city !
Their Sandesh are undoubtedly amazing and soft but i love to visit this place in the winters! They serve gur rosogullas only on early winter mornings! It is a must have!
Went there for the rasgulla. They serve the nolen gur wala rasgulla during winters. They are tasty and decently priced. But an honest rasgulla will tell u that KC das and Chittaranjan tastes much better
Delicious varieties of sweets available on Theatre Road. Always wanted to have my hands on one of their items but could never get the time. I recently treated myself to a couple of their shondesh. All of them tasted pretty tasty.
This place is famous for its Rasogollas and Rasomalais. Yet this place serves fabulous Singharas (Samosas), for which it rarely gets any mention. The sweets are all really good. These people have existed in a prime location over the years, which speaks volumes of its quality. Should visit if you are looking for good quality, Bengali sweets.
This small mithai shop just next to shakespeare sarani ps serves just amazing gur rasagullass during the winter. Any mishri prepared with gur here is good but the gur ka rasgulla is a must must try.

A mishti shop located at the juncture of Loudon Street and Theatre Road. This is a very old shop mostly famous for the rasgullas and rasmalai. The rasmalai is so good that I keep on drooling over whenever I have them. Just like that.

For me this place makes one of the best rasgullas in town! Located in theater to add Shakespeare sarani, this old shop has been serving sweets for over 2decades now!
The rasgullas are my most favorite here. They make it soft, pillowy and spongy!
Other favorites here include samosas and the rasmalai!
They make a wonderful array of channa sweets and there is no compromise in quality!
The products are top class!
Do stop by for a rasgullas explosion when in the area!
Small Pure Bengali Sweet Shop.
Taste is quite good. I tasted Singara n Lord Chomchom.
Price ok.
No seating arrangement.
No Air Conditioner.

Apparently looks like a run of the mill sweet shop, on bustling Theatre Road, the place named "Vien", bears a moderately high chance to get overlooked while passing by.
However, a walk in instead can afford you a chance to dig in to some delicious bite of sweets and snacks, the place offers.
In fact, people can make a meal for lunch, out of the offerings that they have in store. Price is absolutely pocket friendly, and the food is genuinely fresh and delicious in taste.
A very nice place to try out.
As all know kolkata is famous for rasogollas. Let me rectify it well kolkata' s famous for vien's rasogollas. It's the best sweet shop in kolkata to have rasogollas. The rasogollas are big in size, sweet and very soft and tender. Heavenly taste. I have tried many places before but vien's rasogollas are above expectation. I would surely recommend it to anyone who loves rasogollas.
I love to eat bengali sweets when it comes to vien rasgullas. I die for them .They have by far the most delicious rasgullas to sell .The rasgullas are superub and very tasty. The ambience can be much better .The staffs are courteous and friendly.
1. Famous for luchi Puri with chana dal(Bengali style ❤❤)
2. Chenna Toast must try
3. No seating space available
4. Reasonable price
5. Ladoo was also good
I love Bengali sweets and when it comes to nolen gur rosogulla, I die for them. They have one of the best nolen gur rosogullas to sell. Sandesh and other sweets are decent. I love the Bengali samosa too. Go for it.

Didn't expected this place to be on zomato but every time i get surprised, seen lot of reviews of here from the fellow foodies so decided to make a move here. Just 5 minutes walking distance from my office at the Shakespeare Sarani. They make some very good and tasty sweets here. They have got variety as well as quality in their sweets and other stuffs. Not a very big place but a standard sized sweet shop which stays very quite but speaks with their fabulous sweets.
Just tried few from here in the hot afternoon today. Tried their two sweets and singhara as well. Sweets justified the price and singhara was well made fresh and worth the money.
Quality and quantity is pretty good and satisfactory.
NOTE: This review is based on my personal visit and experience to this place.
Wana taste Rasagolla? D best one!. Ds is d place!! Just fantastic!! Perfect sweetness!! Not v sponge nor v hard!! Just perfect..
Oder sweets r also v nyc!! Sugarfree sweets r also v good..
Wow!!!! Finally Vien is in Zomato....m very glad to review one of my favourite sweet shop in kolkata.....situated in shakepeare sarani..,,lets talk about the sweets and snacks ..... They are specialised in authentic Bengali sweets like sandesh, gur sandesh, rose petal sandesh, rosogolla, chumchum, lamcha,n ladoos........in vien u get rosogolla that are Hot....i love their gur sandesh n in winter nolengurer Rosogolla...i s weaknesss.....i love dahi but not very fond of their mistidoi...... Actually i like mistidoi taste should be earthy and original.....
Luchi and cholar daal, rosogolla, rosomalai and darbesh ...a must try when u r in Vien !!! Just fantastic and mouth watering right on Shakespeare sarani.
Vien is an excellent sweets shop. It is located near my fathers office and he used to bring sweets home often. The sweets are exquisitely beautiful and tastes great. The sweetness is just right and thats what I like the best.
This place is legendary for their sweets and rosogolla and samosas. Situated on the corner of Shakespeare sarani. I love their ice cream sandesh and in winter u can't miss their nolengur rosogolla. It is the best in the town. Absolute delight !!!
The best little Mishti shop in the Theatre Road/Camac Street area. Its been around for several decades and is a HOTTTT favorite with the nearby College girls and boys aswell as the office goers of the area aswell as the Society memsahibs. Great Singaras and mishtis all very mouth watering. the great thing about Bengali sweets is their lightness and relative less sweetness as opposed to the "heavy" and extra sweet stuff of the North-particularily Rajasthan. (Probably one of the reasons for the lower incidence of Diabites here than in Rajasthan and UP). Because of their lightness you tend to indulge a little more without feeling 'Full". Try the Rosogullas the Bengali style--squeeze the juice out and pop the chenna balls --youll be surprised as to how many go down in quick time !!!certainly one of my favorites.
Location: A couple of minutes away from Kala Mandir; A stone's throw away from Shakespeare Sarani Police Station.
After a visit at their branch at Southern Avenue, I was informed about the former at Theatre road and, thus decided to drop by. I was by now, very well acquainted by their timings in regards to the availability of fresh sweets and hot savories and henceforth planned to visit it around the early evening hours.
This branch of Vien is pretty old and isn't as big as the newer one, but, it certainly dishes up the same quality of sweets and savories. CALLED for their Rosogullas and Singhara. The Rosogollas were hot and melt-in-the-mouth type, and, the Singhara with the flavorful filling was served piping hot and wasn't oily. They also have Kachoris during lunch hours (comments due).
The STAFF was polite and friendly. The SERVICE was quick as well.
PRICES wouldn't be a pinch at all.
Overall a great experience and a place to look out for their fare and not the ambiance.
This place has been our winter haunt since we were kids. The only two things we have visited Vien for are their gur sandesh and their gur rassogollas
Both these items have never disappointed us.
The items are decently priced as well.
A place to try out on quintets in case you're fond of sweets.
It is located beside Shakespeare sarani police station..its a very old sweet stop and is not like a fancy sweet shop..
They serve one of the most finest rasgulla and mishti doi of kolkata..
Will surely visit soon..
Do try mishti doi...its yumm...
I used to hate those hard spongy rasgullas we get in mumbai. When i first ate rasgulla in kolkata i realised why most of bangali's are suffering from diabetes :).....however the finest rasgulla i had in kolkata was at vien. This is a very small and old shop. No fancy decorated sweets. However when you get a hot ,super soft gud-rasgulla .....yummmm. its heaven :) cant wait for my next visit.
5 / 5 : authentic bangali sweets
Excellent Mishti Doi served here. Infact i think its among the best in Kolkata for the same. You can also try dhoklas. They are soft and tasty.
What is not to like in Vien? Now that is a tough question. From their delicious luchi cholar daal, to delicious dahi, their sandesh, everything is too good. I visited this place many times. In fact whenever I am in the vicinity will definitely go to this place for pocket and tummy friendly food. You really have to hustle and bustle to reach the counter when its lunch time in nearby offices. The Kolkata food heritage is made of many ubiquitous food joints like this. Must eat Rasogolla here.
This rating is solely based on the rasgullas they serve which are just fantastically mind blowing. I was introduced to this place by my family fried and would be greatful to them for the same. Their rasgullas are soft and melts in your mouth. The price according to me is quite reasonable . I have also tasted their kachori sabzi and singhara but did not quite like it much as I personally like the kachori subzi to be slightly spicy and in this case it was not.. But since its a sweet shop it pretty much excels in all of the MISHTI items...
Vien has been a sweet shop that is a family favourite for over two decades. I can't remember get together at my parents house that did not feature the indian dessert component from Vien. Fresh well made soft Sandesh especially the Lemon Sandesh which is superb and the Conch Shell Shaped Shankh are both highly recommended by me. The Soan Papri and Rosagolla are also very good. If you have a sweet tooth I would certainly recommend you give this place a try.
I give it a 3.5 because of its sheer reputation that even found its way to my school Bengali book. I have had food here just once. I had two things. First was the hot samosa fresh from the frying pan and I loved it. No wonder it is famous. The second was rasgullas. warm rasgullas that seemed very nice to me. This is one of the heritage shops of the city and I suggest you try it at least once because I dont know about you but I for one am to some extent a brand person!
To me its the best place to have rosogollas in Kolkata apart from that the other sweets are equally good. I generally don't like sweets but this place is an exception to the rule. A must try if you love sweets.
It’s been more than 40 years since my family & I have been having their Rasogollas, Sandesh & Mishti Doi. The world has changed but Vien’s recipe & taste remains the same good old world type. The Nolen Gur sweets are just heavenly. One unique aspect of Vien is their sweets are just adequately sweet. Not much not too less either. Of late, they have added some new varieties like mango & chocolate Sandesh amongst others which are good as well. Both are liked by children. The sweets are light on the stomach & very high quality. Prices reflect the high quality of sweets.
Vien sells sweets made from best quality cottage cheese or 'chena'. The sweets practically melt in your mouth. I always look forward to visit their shop.

"Vien" is my all time favourite sweet shop.... absolute value for money...quality of first order...specially the laddoos are irresistible ! Above all the conduct and humility of Mr. Indranil Ghosh, the owner is Praiseworthy. 🤩
You must visit this shop during winter. They provide the best gurer Rosgolla. Must try hot rosogolla.
Great place for authentic bengali sweets in Kolkata
The staff members and the other members were very much friendly while we took an interview regarding their shops. I was extremely happy and overwhelmed with their behaviours.

Best Rasogolla, specially the kesar ones which I have had in my life
U cannot return from Kolkata without having their mouthwatering wet Sondesh (both the regular ones and the gur ones) and their Rosholollas are to die far. By far the best in Kolkata.! i wish you could courier them to me in Mumbai :)
A tiny shop but with big flavors. The rasgolla is to die for. I had eaten one warm for the first time and understood why people rave about this sweet. The Sandesh is fabulous. I actually carried a huge selection back with me, but my family finished it in 2 days.
Their rasgullas and sandesh are amazing
I walked 35 minutes to try their Rosogolla for the first time. It was delightfully worth it. So so delicious you can't stop after having just one. If you visit in winter, you also get Gurer Rosogolla (Rosogolla made out of jaggery) which is heavenly delicious. This made my day. And night.
Best hot Rasgolla in town. Take your time to cool them off a little to enjoy them. Please go after 5 pm if you want hot Rasgolla.
While walking, it was a random thought to get some dhoi from this outlet, must appreciate his friendly nature, excellent service with no hue, and very for change and fresh doi...overall a wonderful experience and look forward to the next visit
Amazing sweets Best in town.
Quality of the sweets are awesome. The price may seem to be high but I think its okay as per location. If you are willing to taste good quality of sweets near Shakespeare Sarani, then Vien is the best place.
The best bengali sweet shop i have been visiting since my teen age.
It has the same taste and quality as always love the sandesh their specially the Misti dhai which completes my most of the Sunday lunch and dinner.
It's just near Shakespeare sarani police station if anyone wishes to try it.
One of my favorite sweet shop in kolkata. Its a boon that its near my office. A special recommendation to all, must try out the rasgulla. One of its kind and One of the best of kolkata. Hospitality is excellent
