Love their 'kachuri' and 'cholar daal' so much that I try to visit their outlets as frequent as possible. Also, their rashogollas are mouthwatering! Must visit place for all the sweet loving bengalis! đâ¤ī¸
Been visiting this place since 5years that is my college life days. This place has never disheartened me.
It is always good with every food that it provides.... be it samosa, tea, dosha, dahi vada, radha ballabi, kachuri as well as its sweets...
This place is more than just a restaurant... It has become an emotion for me... Just love this place..
Always a thumbs up for this..
Situated in the Surya Sen street, this sweet shop serves many varieties of authentic sweets which are great in taste. It also serves Singara, Kochuri and few other delightful breakfast and evening snacks.
Favourite place to have tea and some snacks with friends. Their sweets are nice too but they serve very nice milk tea. I often visit this place.

This is one of my favourite places. Visited lots of time during my College and University days...Love the curd, rasamalai, kachori and Dosa they serve. This is such a pocket friendly place.
This is a great place to have some quick bites near the College Street Area .
In frame - Dahi Vada and Sweet Curd
Food Recommendations - Everything on the list ( but not so sure about the sweets ) .
Probably the most visited sweet shop during my University days. We used to have Kachori and Dal along with sweets. The kachori was typical Bengali style sattu stuffed and the cholar dal was absolutely Bengali styled with a bit of sweetness which made that more tasty. The sweets are traditional Bengali sweets and the misti doi was okay.
Went there wid mah father previous year.... We had their famous kachori which they serve with the very tasty Alur Torkari ( sometimes cholar dal as well) that too is very much tasty....All the sweets are too very much tasty...Sweet curd is just...đđđđ
Located very close to Calcutta University, this legendary place is one of my favourites for a sudden kochuri craving.
No fancy decor or shiny interiors, but this place is really good at serving great food. From kochuri to Dosa to mishti- you have plenty of options to choose from.
The kochuri ( mostly served along with aloor torkari, but sometimes you might get chholar dal as well) is simply perfect. Also, the sweets available at Mouchak are delicious.
A personal favourite is their Mishti Doi- can beat the tastiest desserts you've ever had.
P. S. The old uncles at the shop are really sweet people too!
Their Radhaballabhi is just as good as Putiram's, and the Mishti doi is actually better. The price is however less and the staff more cordial. Unless you have the misfortune of interacting with one particular stout fellow with not so bright complexion.( Any good euphemism for that?)

Visited couple of days at my college life,it is very old shop at this area thouh they have couple of outlet at Kolkata. It is very famous eatery junction where you can spend enough time before ordering your food, staff are cordial. You can order samosa, dosa, rasomalai and tea also.
In College Street this is a fav hangout of mine..I often go there with my students, teachers, colleagues and friends..love their Singara with tea and Chittaranjan Sandesh. Staffs are very nice..they greet us warmly...we usually sit there for a long time..but they don't mind..nice people..I also had Kachuri aloor tarkari n Chocolate Sandesh..Chittaranjan is my favourite..mom is fond of their Rasamalai...Tomorrow will go again đđđ
College street is not only famous for Calcutta University, Presidency College, Medical College Hospital, Hindu School or its large numbers of book stores, but also it has its own fame of mouth watering delicacies. Mouchak is one of those leading joints there who have been serving the foodies of Kolkata for quite a decades.
Due to the professional hazard I am very much linked with this place. Today was just another day I have been there and during lunch break we thought to hit that place to entice our taste buds.
We ordered Masala Dosa, which comes in exceptionally reasonable price. I must acknowledge that it was one the best Dosa I have ever had. But the Sambar was little too sour. But as a whole it was quite satisfactory.
On my next visit, I will surely go for its famous kachoris.
This sweetmeat shop is a famous name in college street area. Located just beside the college square. It attracts many book lovers and college students. They have a seating arrangement and offers different snacks along with south Indian dishes.
Just 1min from CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY
Visited here number of times
Loved their dahi bada singhara radhaballavi
Service đ
Pocket friendly đ
I was busy buying copies and on the opposite side of the road I notice this sweet shop . I went there to overcome my hunger . We ordered kachuri which was served with chanar dal . The food was just awesome . The waiters are all well behaved . We had misti after having kachuri too . Rs 100 for 2 is more than enough .
Do visit if you visit college street . Priyanka Manna
This place carries on the age old legacy. This is at the centre of college street and is thus frequently visited by students. Had their chocolate sandesh. Priced at RS 10 per piece I think this is a must try.
This is located just beside College Square. Their sweets are average and the price are also not so high. If you are experimental about sweets then you can obviously taste their sweets.
Located near Calcutta University. It's also one of the famous sweetheart in kollata. They have variety in sweets and snacks. I love their kachori, chanar jilipi, shingara, sandesh.
Price - reasonable.
Located at the same Lane of Putirum, this is yet another legendary and pre-eminent sweet shop in the City of joy.
Their kachuris, rasogolla, sandesh, chanar jilipi, misti doi is delicious enough to make you visit here again. Price is very cheap. Recommended to every foodies.
Swees are really really nice and tasty.
Price is also reasonable.
Staffs are not so courteous.
Had to wait for a very long time.
But the food is fresh and good.
Located near Calcutta University. Famous for itâs variety in sweets and snacks. This shop has sitting arrangements too. Famous for their kochuri, masala dhosa, samosa, chhanar jilipi. But you can try their rasmalai and Sandesh which are real good.
Kolkata is gifted with authentic sweet shops...very old ones. Mouchak is close to Putiram, offering yumyum kochuri, shingara, misti...Prices are astonishingly low, you may afford to stuff a lot...but Alas!!...tummy you got only one, sadly. Better luck next time!!
A vintage place for the bengali sweet lovers.. shorbhaja, rosogolla, lengcha, lassi, misti doi(sweet curd) all are simply delicious and super pocket friendly. Its not just a random sweet shop, one can sit and have sweets.. they have sitting arrangements and a nice warm behaviour. Along with sweets they serve some really delicious kochuris and dosas. Good place for the college goers who can please their tummies with an afternoon snack after a long day at college.
Just to give Putiram a bit of competition this is located in the same lane as putiram. This sweet shop is no less famous and popular for its sweets.
Try the sweets over here.

This is located in College Street near Calcutta University and is famous for its variety of sweets and snacks. I visited this shop a number of times. This shop specialises in kochuri, radha ballabhi, misti doi, chanar jilipi, masala dosa and singhara. Kochuri with cholar dal and a cup of tea is the best breakfast anyone can have in this sweet shop. If you are near college street go for this shop.

Kachuri, radhavallavi are great. Mishti doi(sweet curd) is also very good. Lassi is not that good but this place is renowned for the kachuri served with alur torkari or chholar daal. And the Chhanar Jilipi is just fantastic. Sweets are really good.
I have visited this sweet shop plenty of times..
If you are in college street and have a craving for sweets you can visit this one...
Their sandesh are awrsome...
Eating in shops like this will give you a feel of kolkata which you can not get in modern sweetshops...
Many old people who used to regular at tgeir young days while studying in colleges still visits...
And if you have time talk with them.. you will live their experiences of old kolkata...
Mouchak used to be almost a daily hub during my college days. Their kochuri and a cup of tea was a perfect lunch for me. Added to this was chhanar jilipi and roshogolla which were awesome.

Another outlet of the famous 'Mouchak ' located in college street area near Putiram.. Visited many times.. One can take a seat and enjoy their snacks. It's neat and clean and hygienic.. Kachuri and sweets are really good in taste. Price is pocket friendly..
One of the primary motives of visiting Kolkata for someone like myself is to tick off all possible popular places in and around the area. Today it was college Street and this was one of the places on our restaurant hopping tour. Took a bite into the classic shingara! It was an absolute treat. The aloo stuffing was yum. Price? Just 5 bucks. OMG. I did have the appetite to try some sweets from the menu but we had limited time and other places to visit.

Mouchak is located at College Street, famous for their wide variety of sweets and snacks.
Place is hygienic.
Service is good.
Their Kochuri - alurdom is very tasty . I also love their singaara and rosomalai.
Pocket pinch is reasonable.
We visited this since the nearby Putiram had there breakfast stock emptied out. Liked the Kochuli-Aloor Dom combo with a sweet. This place serves as a good point for locals and passers by of this junction to try something on the go. A standard bengali sweet shop. Â Since my school days, I loved the mishti doi or sweet curd which is still good and i can eat mouthful.
nice place to have kachuris, singaras and rasogollas in between the classes..go there surely if you don't get a place to sit at the Putiram's! ;)
Mouchak is a well reputed sweets seller in College Street. I have tried a few of them here and sweets are average. Try their Rosogolla, Sandes, you will fall in love with them. Good things at low prices.
Truly this place is a saviour. It's a snack sweet shop with pretty good seating arrangement and well maintained hygiene. The kaku in the counter will greet you with a very genuine smile and even if you have shortage of cash, he will still serve you his famous kachuri sabji with infinite love.
I love their samosa's. They also give dhosa which is filling and good for 35rs. Tea coffee coldrinks all options you get here. And trust me in 50rs you can have bellyful breakfast with coffee. đ

Sweet lovers often visit here to quench their sweet thirst... All age groups are fond of Mouchak sweet shop. As they have various kinds of sweets.. from traditional chenna sondesh to modern choco sondesh and lot more.
This is one of my favourite places! I have lunch here everyday. The kochuri, singaras, rasmalai, and all other sweets.. it's delicious! The price is quite cheap. The place has limited seating space, and it can get cramped at times. However the service is amazing and quick. It is worth a try place.

I've been to Mouchak nearly a hundred times. No matter what time you drop by here you can be guaranteed some hot and delicious Bengali food. They serve a variety of dishes which include dosas, chaats and even samosas. The waiters are incredibly polite and prices are very low.
Sweets are fine. And the only good thing here is the Dhosa and samosa. People visit mostly due to this two things.
I often visit there to have Dhosa. You can also try other South Indian dishes that they make and the sweets too.
U get al kinds of catchy indian street foods .. B it d gujrati dhokla or south indian dosas idlis..!! Dey also serve u d tangy dahi vadas nd crispy samosas at d cheapest rates
Cheap rates.. Good quality food.. Nice for a quick snack..
One of the oldest sweet shops that exist in the city! They have branches in the city but this one is my favourite. An aura of nostalgia surrounds this place. The luchi and aloof sabzi are kickass, rasgullas are my favourite. Their shor bhaja is yummy. They have a wide variety of sweets. Their service is super fast.
One of the best sweet shop I have ever seen after kc das.rosogolla was awesome and besides sweets snack like that puri sabji taste was too good.
.
Mouchak is one of the pioneer of Calcutta Sweets and it offers a wide array of sweets. If u happen to cross their outlet please visit and pamper your sweet tooth. Rossogollas are a must try. For the savoury, singhara is very tasty.

This happens to be one of my favourite sweet shops during college days. Often hungry, we used to rush to Mouchak to gorge in the Luchi Aloor Torkari or the Luchi Cholar Dal. Needless to say, that tasted heavenly. They also had dosas and vadas, which I never had but my friends used to love them.
Not very fond of their sweets, I used to love their Khirer Singara. It was good like anything else. Even their actual Singara was pretty good though. I loved the chutney served with it.
There's a very fond memory of mine associated with this place. When the first Presidency University Students' Union Council was formed under the leadership of Independents' Consolidation in 2014, we had distributed sweets to every bookseller in College Street. People from Mouchak came along and helped us distribute the Chhenar Jilipis that we ordered from them. It's a very dear memory of mine. Mouchak also has seating arrangements inside apart from the sweetshop at the outer part. It's an average kinda sweet shop but this place is very close to my heart. Hence you gotta try this place out. Happy Dining! :)

It is located near the RKM institution. As i was a student of RKM, I visited this outlet a few times. Mouchak is very popular sweet shop in kolkata but I don't find it impressive. Chhena quality is not good and over sweetened.
Often at times while returning home from university, I take home their delicious kochuri and aloor torkari. So tasty, so good, their fine kochuris just blow my mind away. First introduced to me by a sister, since then I've become a crazy fan of Mouchak's items. Just like one scoops out pure, fresh, sweet honey from a beehive or "mouchak", the shop (not the hive!) offers awesome sweets and kochuris.
Old sweets shop...very big shop...sweets also very tasty...also d kachuri....the manager also very good and well....rosomalai is outstanding...

Located just beside college square, close to putiram and near to Paramount sherbats and syrup shop. They have a wide sitting arrangement. You can comfortably sit and enjoy the traditional Bengali breakfast- kochuri, cholar dal, variety sweets and tea. Food quality is average for Bengali foods. They also serve south Indian snacks though I did not try those.
Located on surya Sen street ....Liked to visit this place in the evening for some tea and masala dosa..... Price moderate.......Also a good variety of sweets
Variety of sweets they have and all the sweets taste very brilliant. They also serve bengoli, south indian and desi snacks which were also tastes good.
Haven't tried their sweets much, but once tasted the Masala Dosa, it was pocket friendly & tasty, generally all the food joints of College street are always crowded, apparently I found it less crowded, a nice place to sit and eat at college square :)
Possibly my most frequented 'mishtir dokan' ever. Love the dahi vada you get from this place. Also the luchi-chholar dal is something worth dying for, I swear! The rosogolla and mishti doi are also two of my most frequent buys in here. The perfect place for any bangali with a sweet tooth (or not!). Located just beside College Square, you couldn't miss this place.
Located just beside Zeeshan, which is primarily a non-vegetarian place, Mouchak, situated in College Street, offers purely vegetarian dishes at absolutely cheap prices. A go-to place for the college students who are out to grab a quick-bite. I personally vouch for the Dosas and Radha Vallabhs (a sweet) they serve. Kochuris are good too, but for them, Putiram is generally the best place to go.
All in all, the best place to visit for vegetarian dishes in College Street.
I was a student of Hindu school and Mck so I visited this small restro for numerous times..
Ambience: old school kochuri mishti shop.
Reception:
Food: besh bhalo..
Price: cheap

This place is so near to the Calcutta University campus, and has served my hungry stomach after long classes for a long time.
The items such as dosa, luchi torkari isnt too good, average to say.
The sweets are very good.
The food whether, average or good, tasted heavenly, when it took care of my gurgling stomach.

Good cheap fast food. Nice compact interiors with respect to the pocket pinch that this place demands. Staff is fast and efficient. Sweets are pretty good.
Location: Near Putiram, College Street.
Located a few shops from the legendary Putiram, this outlet of Mouchak is amongst the oldest ones.
Earlier I used to be quite a shady one and proper seating arrangements, but still used to serve great quality fooding. Now, it has been renovated and it's more spacious and has better seating arrangements and still serves the same quality!
This outlet of Mouchak was also introduced to me by the same buddy who introduced me to Putiram. And since the first visit, I have been coming here like every alternative week that too just for its Kachoris and Chana Dal! They are like amazing!! The aloo sabji along is also good but, I personally prefer dal over aloo sabji.
The sweet and smooth dal with the hot kachoris taste so delicious.
Recommended for people who haven't tried it yet, and for people who have been here, need no description. :)
Have also tried the south-indian here, the dosa and idlis were found to crisp and soft respectively.
The chutney was a bit runny and sambhar was a bit disappointing.
The service here is prompt and the staff are always on their toes!
Pricing is quite pocket-friendly.
Overall has always been a good experience.
- I stick to the Kachoris and dal, they keep luring me back to this place!! :P
- A regular stop for the students out there in college street.

The sweets are not exceptionally good, but are reasonably priced. The seating arrangement is good. They have a dacent variety if sweets but not as good as it's more famous golpark counterpart. Overall a nice option for a quick bite. The Rosogolla is semi sponge and the Two-In-One Sandesh is interesting to taste. It is priced at rupees ten and has double layers with jelly on top!
Best sweet shop in the area! Certainly better than the other branches! love the waiters! they are so friendly! food is awesome! Low priced and excellent quality of food! They started making a sweet called "Mouchak" which is just out of the world. Brilliant taste at such low price.
They even accept party orders!
Oh this place is in my sweet memories. . How can I forget to review this.. as I am writing this review, we have to go back 4 years. . During my entrace exam of Presidency College, when my exam ended my bro and me headed to this place as college street was drowning due to rain. . .
Food-ã as I am a dosa-lover so I ate dosa and my bro had Kachuri and Cholar dal. Lastly we had Chanar Jilapi, totally love this.
LOCATION is very prompt, easy to find. You can ask anyone. They have proper sitting arrangement.

It's primarily a sweet and snacks shop.. It's good for breakfast and tiffin.. Cheap dosha is available though not much of quality.. Doi bora, kochuri everything is average nothing to show off.. It's a reasonably good shop to stop by and have breakfast or tiffin in reasonable price
Mouchak is primarily a sweet shop which doubles up as a popular destination for students as it serves dosas dahi vadas lassi and kachuris.
The masala dosas are decent for 25 bucks and the dahi vadas are nice too. But the kachuris are best left out. Among the sweets try the chanar jilipi...
Overall a very nice pocket friendly place to go to for a nice snack .
The interiors are clean and the service prompt.
i have known this place since childhood had been there with my baba while returning home ..we both are sweet lovers..and had lots there and packed some up for home..
we had their langcha, milk cake, roshbhora, chanar payesh, chitrokut, kalakand..and packed up rabri for home..this place serves some awesomeee sweet delicacies which will leave u spellbounded..i being a crazy lover of sweets loved each item..special mention is for the kachuri and cholar dal which was very good...
this place has proper sitting arrangements with a very clean and neat surroundings..though its small i really liked it..sweets are a bit costly but being so tasty it demands such price..:)
North Calcutta's one of the most famous authentic bengali fast food center and sweet shop. They serve kachori, radhaballavi, samosa, sweets, lassi and tea. Food is delish and filling. Could be a nice spot to visit after shopping at college street. One can experience the 20th century Bengali culture before the modernization. They have spacious seating arrangements.
This review is based on my several visits to this place over last 5 years and unbiased.
This place very famous for college students around for breakfast and snacks. Puri, dosa, dahibara etc. along with bengali traditional sweets are available. Taste of all types of items is justified with respect to cost. Sweet items are not huge in number. However, it provides best possible quality within that price range. Employee service is good and quick. It is a nice place, where you can sit and enjoy your evening snacks along with your friends. It may not be the 'leader in Indian sweets' as the banner suggests but the ambiance and quality-quantity ratio guarantee a pleasant experience. A cafe and xerox centre is there below same sheds. This place is affordable for everyone and hence, rightly deserves 3.8 star.
I love the place soo much . They have a wide range of yummy snacks like kochuri , dosa , dahi bada and various kind of sweets â¤ī¸

It's very good and seems hygienic too considering it's Kolkata. The only thing that I might add is that I heard they made very good dosa's, would love to try one sometimes.
Pocket friendly for college and university students
Frequent visitor of this place during my University days. It was one of our favourite places for quick bites. I love this place for their hygiene and staffs are really well-behaved (they actually knew us and we used to have small talks). Their Rasmalai is the best thing one can have.
Great food . It's a good place in College Street Area for some quick bites . Would definitely recommend this place anyday .

One of the oldest sweet shops in the city. Very good quality sweets and their speciality is the savory kachori and sabji
Used to go there with friends during my college and university days. Love their mishti doi, rosomalai. Also tried masala dhosa, kachori, lassi.
Very glad to add the vintage restaurant. They don't have any special dish in their menu but atmosphere of the place make you feel different. And don't forget to take a cup of tea.
