Located in a small lane in Park Circus Area, Shim Shim is a place that is a must visit, with courteous staff and a good Ambience. We ordered Chilli Beef Momo and Pan Fried Beef Momo when we visited this place.
Chilli Beef Momo was one of its kind with a sweet aftertaste.
Pan Fried Beef Momo was delicious as well. The gravy was delicious to taste.

Visited this place today. Really loved the beef steamed momo, and chicken kothe. Fried chicken was a bit pricy. Thats just normal chicken pakora for 200rs. Most amazing was the chicken thukpa.

Simple decor, extremelly courteous staff, amazing food and it doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.The kothays are to die for. Highly recommend the beef kothay as starters with their spicy tangy beef thai soup. These two together will create and umami bombe!In the rice and noodles section, I would definitely recommend the keema chow and their ginger pepper fried rice.Now coming to the sides, please stick to the beef unless you absolutely cannot have beef. Their mongolian beef is a personal favourite. Minimal spices is used. Just a hint of chinese five spice and ginger, it is slightly sweet and an absolute gem to have in your mouth. Highly recommended.Also try out their chili beef and pepper beef.

For- I ordered the famous mongolian beef and beef momo. The beef tasted wonderful. It was soft and juicy yet not too spicy. The momo had juices coming out of it. Worth the hype.

We had ordered Beef in oyster basil sauce & Chilli Garlic Noodles in a bowl. This is perfectly sufficient for a medium-eating person.
The Noodles was quite impressive. & the Beef. Ohh.! It was as good as anything I've ever tasted. I strongly recommend this for all the beef lovers out there.
The Green Apple Soda was perfect value for money.
There were some issues regarding payment afterwards, as this place doesn't have a card machine.

The last night of this year had spent very well and shim shim is the reason behind it. The ambience was typically Tibetan and well decorated. The sitting arrangement was also very good. Now come to the food. We ordered BEEF MOMO which was the best momo I ever had. The beef stuffing was outstanding. It was juicy and very yummy. Next we ordered KEEMA FRIED RICE and MONGOLIAN BEEF. This combo had came from heaven. The sweet yummy Mongolian beef really with goes with that rice. The service was very good. A very pocket friendly place.
I have always ordered food from Shim shim. Love their Chilli garlic noodles and mongolian beef. The serving is more than enough for me to enjoy it the next day.
This place just needs music. That's it. Then it's a 5 from me.
I ordered momos and kothey from Shim Shim. The delivery great and the packaging too. The chicken steamed momos were good, filling but the Chicken Kothey was better. Good filling of chicken. Only issue is that their sauce is way too spicy.

This was my first visit to a Tibetan restaurant and I was so reluctant and confused to go because I wasn't sure how the food would turn up. But, Shim shim lived up to my expectations. Located near the 7point crossing of park circus, this beef cafe is small, simple place where you can get delicious food at affordable prices. With an accommodation of 30-35 heads, it had some really cool graffiti on the walls, with the bamboos glued to the wall giving an authentic Tibetan look to it.
Both the bowls were equally flavorful with a quantity sufficient for one people or more with a medium appetite. The pieces were soft and quite big in size. I was a little more partial towards the chilli garlic noodles and Mongolian beef bowl but nevertheless both were amazing. If you are a die hard beef fan, this is your place.
And also, they didn't provide any extra charge for the tax.
A bit spicy but the tastiest momos i ever had. Loved every bit of it.
The beef is especially prepared in a Nepali style. Which impressed me alot. Being a notheastern and trying something of my roots made the food even more tastier. And the shafalay was amazing, the filling stuffed inside was of exact amount. Not too much not too less. And the beef momo was very very tasty. Just loved the food and the place. Highly recommended.

First Thing First, it's a Tibetan restaurant don't expect things like biryani or beef malai.
Now coming to the ambiance it's quite good and staffs are friendly enough.
No questions about the food quality. One of the Best place to have beef in Kolkata. Well cooked and delicious items.
Mongolian Beef and Pepper Beef is must have here.
Would have given 5 stars but, the don't accept card or Upi only paytm and cash. It's a thing to consider in current scenario. And things are bit overpriced
I went there yesterday with my GF. Well to be very precise it's indeed a paradise for beef lovers but the price are on the higher side compared to the quantity. We ordered: Mongolian beef (250/-).
chilli beef (220/-).
Veg fried rice (140/-).
Out of these mongolian beef was the best. It tasted heavenly. Chilly beef was a bit spicy but very good. Veg fried rice literally had no taste in it. The beef pieces were chewy and not so soft. My GF had braces in her teeth so she couldn't chew a single piece properly as it was too hard for her.
There is no added tax here which is good.
The ambience was awesome.
If you are a beef lover do visit this place though the pocket pinch will be little high.
The manager cum one of their finest cook, is the best person there. She is really some great women and the place too is undoubtedly good for beef lovers.

About the ambiance,
You can see a spray-painted graffiti of Shim Shim on its outer shutter wall. When you enter, you enjoy the paintings that are framed all over the wall. The wall color is relatable with the Mongolian culture.
About the food,
The food tasted quite good. They ask for any customization required on their dish, if possible. The ingredients tasted quite fresh. If you are going to taste some beef, you can rely on their meat quality quite comfortably.

A long overdue review... I visited almost a year ago... Having heard that this is a beef place, I had been wanting to go there for awhile. I don't remember much of what we had ordered, but I do remember that I loved their food. I do remember though, that we had ordered a noodles, the beef momos and their mongolian beef. I did enjoy the mongolian beef and the noodles. However, I didn't enjoy the beef momo much. It had pieces of uncooked fat in it, which made it difficult to chew. I wouldn't say this is a negative point of this restaurant, because I have tried beef momos elsewhere and had the same experience. Maybe beef isn't a good option for momos? Overall, a good experience, and I would happily go back there again!

This was mentioned because, this entire place is run by said staff who would always greet you at the door, take your order and serve your food in the most polite way possible, and ALWAYS WITH A VERY COURTEOUS SMILE. In other pros,
1. This place serves the best momo in entire Kolkata, yes; PERIOD.
2. Their chili beef and Keema Rice is worth killing for.
3. Very spacious indoor and seating arrangements.
4. I already mentioned the staff behaviour, so there goes.
5. You can make your own bowl with your choice of beef/chicken side dish and rice/noodles.

You can also call this a beef cafe. The beef dishes here are mouth watering. If u are a beef lover and u didn't visit this cafe, trust me it's a huge loss. The prices here are very reasonable. Amongst my favourite are Mongolian beef which comes at rs 170/- and beef in soya sauce which comes at rs 190/- the chili beef also comes at rs 190/- and is unparallel. I tried the chilli garlic rice here and the portion was quite filling for one.
They even give an option of making your own bowl where u need to choose your beef/chicken and rice/noodles preparation. I think it's the best deal. I even tried the virgin mojito which was quite refreshing, but was at first served at room temperature, we needed to request them to put it in the refrigerator to cool it first. Over all the food is amazing and fulfilling
Initially when this joint opened they were delivering the best of momos. The quality was amazing without any question and the filling was great. However currently the quality has gone down drastically. Beef chilli is must should definitely try it.
I've been to Shim Shim multiple times and this place is a hidden gem. It's located in Bright Street, and it was initially a small restaurant but now they've expanded the sitting space. It's run by a group of Tibetan restaurateurs, and the staff is extremely polite and well mannered.
Their items are just excellent and you cannot find the same taste anywhere in Kolkata.

Mongolian beef, chicken wings, chili garlic fried rice are the best. Didn't like the chili beef as much as Mongolian. Chicken wings comes in a variety of sauces, you can try according to your liking, they all are pretty good. I've given it 5 stars considering that the price is pretty low for the quantity and taste.
A long time in the bucket list, this place had to be visited. We were pretty hungry after the movie Detective Pikachu and we ordered:
Chicken Phalay: And I can safely say this is the best shafalay I had in Kolkata. Wasn't too oily and the chicken stuffing was absolutely flawless.
Mongolian Beef: Thin slices of beef tossed with a sweet and spicy sauce and spring onions. I loved the way the meat was prepared. The dish could have been a little more spicier.
Pan Fried Chicken Momos: The sauce isn't like your regular pan fried ones. They use ketchup as well as their own sauce and hence the flavours are a bit different. We were two with opposite opinions. I loved it while Subhadeep Dev didn't like it that much.
Overall I loved the experience. The place isn't very large but the seating is really spacious which I liked a lot. The ambience is simple but neat. And the behaviour of the staff is really good.
Located in the bylanes of ParkCircus Char number( the Bus stoppage) , this place is well known for its Beef delicacies..... First of all The menu here is not updated and there has been a price hike..... So now it's approx ₹500 for two..... The outside of this shop is very attractive with the wall painting..... Inside the decor is minimalistic yet good.... The ambience could be a tad better..... We had ordered the Beef Phalay( ₹100) for starters and the Chilli beef ( ₹220) and the Egg fried rice ( ₹180) as main course...... The phalay was maybe the best we have tasted till date.... The fillings were generous with a soft crunchy fried coating... The Chilli beef was moderately spicy with adequate amounts of succulent beef pieces.... Tasted heavenly though the beef pieces got chewy as the dish cooled down.... The fried rice was good..... The staff were courteous....the adequate amounts served makes it a good place for giving treats....The Mongolian beef is a much recommended dish....

Small and bright place with attentive waiters, this is one of the must visit small places in Park Circus Area for good beef preparations. We had their famous Mongolian beef and mixed thukpa. Excellent place if you want to take in some authentic Tibetan style Beefy mainstays that start from all things momo and go upto Nepalese Beef Curry. The dishes are supremely tasty and priced extremely reasonably.
The place due to it's location is easy to reach. The inside is not very big, and has 5 or 6 tables of four to sit. We heard the om mani padme hum chant playing out in the background. Sets up the ambience so very nicely.

This is a reputed Tibetian food joint in Kolkata. It specialises in a plethora of Tibetian and Chinese cuisines and some of them are truly unique. I tried out their famous steamed momos and another fried chicken dish. Both the items tasted delicious, even though it's nothing out of the world. The restaurant ambience resembles the beautiful Tibetian Culture, with various cultural posters, wallpapers and a photo of the Dalai Lama. The location of this restaurant is a bit tricky, so you need to take the assistance of Google Map, if you are a first time visitor. The customer service is praiseworthy and the prices of the foods won't put too much stress on your bank balance. Recommended. 👍
