I will simply reiterate what others have said here. Being a Biriyani lover is one thing. Then there are a few (like me and my whole family) who are Biriyani snob. And there are a very few who can absolutely satisfy a Biriyani snob. And then came #HaanDBiriyani to conquer them all. Undoubtedly the #BestBiriyani of #Kolkata. This is an absolute must have if you love Biriyani.
The aroma, the taste, the exact proportion and mix of spices and herbs, the tender mutton and chicken pieces which can be eaten entirely with a spoon and fork creates a wonderful magic which cannot be described in words. It does not matter if you have it with hands either. Believe me, you do NOT need soap to wash your hands after you finish, it's that light. Their rates are also extremely reasonable and to my experience less than a few so called "big shots".
Thanks a lot Indrajit and Abhijit Sarkar for this wonderful effort. The Biriyani and the Chicken Chaap was heavenly. Though this is not my first time, but I must admit again and again this is the best Biriyani I ever had. Keep mesmerizing people with your food.

One of the best biryanis I have ever had! The mutton was tender and well spiced in the biryani and chicken chaap was absolutely delicious. The food was the main highlight in my birthday party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Thank you! Way to go... Highly recommend the food!!!
The irresistible biryani rice, with just the right balance of spice.. The succulent pieces of meat that melt in your mouth.. Made with impeccable consistency, Haan D biryani is on its way to becoming synonymous with perfection in the Kolkata food scene.. had with some chicken chap, it leaves you hankering for more.. And you can eat till you have biryani coming out of your ears without feeling bloated! Undeniably the best Biryani going around..
Definitely one of the best servings of Biryani in town. This boy is a genius.
Want some healthy biryani? Yes you heard it right... healthy biryani. HaanDBiryani is one of the best biryani you will have in Kolkata.
Accompaning the biryani they have the best shammi kebab and chicken chap. They are the first place to show the nutritional value on the biryani packets which are quite interesting.

**This is a takeaway review.
**Food- I ordered for-
•Mutton Biryani (Rs.250)- a box full of aromatic rice, a big piece of potato & soft juicy mutton. The rice was not too oily, which is a major plus point of this biryani. A big fat thumbs up for its quality & quantity.

Absolutely delicious. Great taste, good portions and lovely packaging. We ordered for Mutton Biriyani, Chicken Chaanp and Shaami kebab bhurjee. All the items were spot on and we loved every bit of it. Cheers.
Our never ending quest to taste biryani from various joints brought us to Haan D Biryani, and we were not let down at all.
It was a friend's birthday and keeping the social distancing & hygene factor in mind, we went for the well packaged biryanis offered by Haan D Biryani.
The taste was great. The mutton just melted in the mouth and the aroma was mind blowing.
I personally believe that a good biryani should not be a burden on your stomach and should not require any soap to clean the hand. Running water should be enough to clean your hands and prove that the biryani is good.
This is exactly what I experienced and was overwhelmed.
Great taste, good portion size, hygenic packaging and value for money sums up the experience. Cheers !!
The mutton is cooked to perfection every single time. Great portions and love the simple but robust flavours.
I've been a Biryani connoisseur all my life. We ordered the mutton special biryani and this has to be one of the most underrated biryanis in town. The long grain rice, the natural aroma and no artificial colors added with juicy chunks of meat. When we washed our hands afterwards, no dalda! Great work Haan D
Amazing biryani without the guilt of eating too much fat. The aroma and look was as great as the taste. Will order whenever unable to cook, as my friends love my cooking the most.😊
Got some biriyani from a takeaway joint at AJC bose road. It is the lightest version of Biriyani I had compared to other biriyani's as they use oil instead of dalda.
It comes in sealed boxes which contain a succulent piece of mutton along with a soft aloo which is mandatory in a biriyani..
Heard a lot about this place so finally ordered today . There chicken biryani was too yummy must try atleast once and Iam sure you will not search some other place for biryani chicken chap was good mutton chap was also good could have been very good if had some more places . Must try once for all biryani lovers and please do add romali Riti to your menu
Made my way to visit the Haan-D-Biriyani last night. We went to the outlet near the Audi showroom off AJC Bose Road. Though they didn't have a seating arrangement formally, we managed to survive on a bench! The biriyani is so light that you're never facing health or fitness issues with it! Though being a hardcore Biriyani lover, I missed the strong aroma and taste, nonetheless it was good!
In frame - Chicken Biriyani
Price - 215/- (per plt inc tax)
Rating - 3/5 ✨
Another good joint which offers the universal dish of Kolkatta.... the Biryani... coupled with the other mutton and chicken dishes the place is good.
Great biriyani and mutton shammi kebab. Ordered in, packaging was good too. Was skeptical initially about the taste, as they don't use and dalda or artificial flavors. But it was tasty too. Definitely ordering again.
I had ordered from here on 22.01.2019. I had ordered a special chicken biryani and special mutton biryani. Firstly the quantity was really very good. There were 2 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of mutton. A potato and an egg in each. The flavour, smell, taste everything was really excellent!! Heavenly preparation of the mutton and chicken as well. Enjoyed every bit of it!
The food was lip smacking. We ordered a shahi special mutton dum biryani and a shahi special chicken dum biryani. The delivery was on time and the food was sufficiently steaming. Overall wonderful experience. Good job.
Love the food always. Very Tasty and yet low fat so you can eat a lot. The Chicken preparations were also very soft. The Biriyani has been consistently extremely tasty and comparable to all the reputed places and even better than many.
Their over-the-top presentation is something u can pay for. Haan D will be going places with the quality of Biriyani they serve. An add on chicken or mutton to the regular portion should suffice 2.I would rate it over Arsalan as long as the balance in flavour is concerned. Their only drawback is availability.. Both in respect of time and amount. They serve only till 10 by delivery only and u may miss it out on some days if u are late.
Definitely on my top 5 list for Biriyani in Kolkata.
Last time I tried there Biryani...... so delicious and so yummy taste I felt. Yeah... It was my first at the outlet of Haan D Biryani but proudly saying that my day was just nice. They made my day crazzzzy...
Mouthwatering mutton special biryani and brilliantly marinated kebabs & tandoori chicken are must try. One of the USPs of Haan D Biryani is it's low fat biryani. So the biryani lovers can guilt free savour the exotic dish. Superbbb taste I found after along time, really !!!
That's why my rating is 5/4. No any types of issue from the outlet. My first experience was too good...
Again and again I will try there authentic taste of biryani...
I love biriyani and I can have it from any corners of the city ... well that what I used to believe in ... but ever since I had Haan D biriyani ... My thought process changed completely !! ... Haan D ... it is .. my Favourite !!! Great taste , very light and the mutton / chicken inside is just yummy .. A must must try !!! 🥂
A fairly recent entrant in the Kolkata Biryani and Kebab scene, Haan D Biryani, with their innovative and fresh approach, preparation and use of technology has vaulted onto the top. The biryanis and kebabs are both delectable and succulent, melting in the mouth, satiating the eater but who still yearns for more. The preparations are light and don't leave one feeling heavy. The best. The android app is convenient and user friendly. 5******
Ordered Special Mutton Biryani. It outclassed Arsalan, Shiraz, Royal Lucknow Hotel ( now closed) , Aminia by hundred miles.
Good , succulent pieces of mutton, egg and potato.
Very honest pricing
Excellent packing ( microwave- safe)
Best wishes. Keep the quality intact please. We are there to back you...
Biriyanis are simply and in all subtle adjectives just fabulous. Apart from Dum Pukth, ITC Hotels Awadhi Chain, i didnt find such a melancholy of long grained Basmati, Subtle whole spices and awesome meat cooked to just that Perfection, combined to render such a great dish.
The delivery was very timely and the executive very cooperative. The food itself is delicious, we ordered the special mutton Biriyani and boneless chicken chaap. Very well made and good quantity. The best bit is that they deliver this delicious food right at your doorstep. So now you can enjoy quality Biriyani at pocket friendly prices without the hassle and crowds of big restaurants, you can enjoy them in the comfort of your own home. A definite recommendation to all Biriyani lovers.
P. S. THEY HAVE AN APP ON PLAY STORE. JUST Type :Haan 'D' Biriyani and download the app and you are good to go.
The True Diet Biryani, one can say. Well my ratings is 3.5, and the only reason behind it is, I missed the true Kolkata taste with which I have grown up . The Biryani was tasty, cooked to perfection, portion was good. The meat portion was good too. The Aloo melted in my mouth, but honestly being a true Biryani lover, missed the aroma & taste of the Biryani, we Kolkatans actually love. There was no stickyness of Transfat, once I washed my hands. One looking for a hygienic food should try this joint.
The best biryani in Kolkata. We ordered mutton biryani, the rice was flavorful, properly cooked. The meat was melt in mouth soft and there was a big piece of potato, the signature Kolkata style. Packaging is neat and good. Now whenever we crave for biryani, we order from haan D biryani. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed Mutton biriyani very much . Tasty light rice with tender Mutton piece. Chicken chaap ( boneless) is also good, it might be more delicious had chicken pieces been more soft.
Nice biryani nd tandoori....loved the soft mutton pc in the biryani....awasome guys ..keep serving such delightful food always ...coming soon fr my meal.
Mouthwatering mutton special biryani and brilliantly marinated kebabs & tandoori chicken are must try. One of the USPs of Haan D Biryani is it's low fat biryani. So the biryani lovers can guilt free savour the exotic dish.
Vegetarians looking for veg Biryani ! This is the place to be ! Absolutely love this place. The Firni too is to die for !! Great place to order for a small gathering !
If you love biryani you must have Haan D Biryani and if you dont love biryani as much, you should still try their biryani and you will definitely end up loving it. Guilt free, utterly delicious and soft mutton is their USP. Also their kebabs are sooo good especially the reshmi and afghani kebabs. The chutney is one of a kind and goes beautifully with the kebabs. Its a must must try!
Amazing biryani.... One does not feel heavy even after having a full plate of it. The mutton too is very tender. A must have Biryani in Kolkata !!
The best place to have low fat biryani. For all those who are conscious towards their health, you can now have Biryani without feeling guilty. My favourite is special mutton biriyani.
Really tasty Biryani! When I think of biryani I think of Haan d Biryani. Have become pretty much a regular now. The mutton is very tender and the helping very generous. The best part is that I don't feel guilty even after eating a full plate because it's not oily. Would recommend this over all other Biryani places in Kolkata!
This is truly the best biryani I have ever had. I live in Bombay and my first activity whenever I return to Kolkata is to have the mutton biryani from here. I have even had it for breakfast.
The quality of food is brilliant with tantalising taste! Made with vegetable oil ... the Biryani & the Champ... so no frozen dalda on your fingers or plate!
The quantity was good, the pieces of Chicken / Mutton very more than I expected & packaging... very professional.
Great service, with Arijit ( partner ) personally ensuring on the call that we got the food on time.
If I had to define the food in two words ... Orgasmic Delight ... for someone who loves his food!
I vouch for the good & suggest everyone to try the food here ... possibly, after this experience ... it will be goodbye to all places wherever you have been eating your Biryani from, till now!
It’s no longer that time anymore when a few names are the clear market leaders in Kolkata as far as serving biryani goes. Newer places are coming up, and are becoming hot favourites. Once such place - Haan D’ Biryani. Tried it today. The biryani they claimed was made from refined oil, truly. Usually biryani rice dries up in a matter of 10 minutes after heating it all thanks to the dalda. This time it didn’t. The chicken/mutton was cooked properly and were very soft. Rice quantity was impressive. Even tried the chicken chaap - the taste isn’t quite like the usual chaaps we have but it was still good. It’s a takeaway place so They pack their biriyani in plastic boxes, picture labelling of your dish which was different from what we usually find in town and quite convenient in the event you’re taking different types of biryanis. The AJC Bose road counter has just become operational so they aren’t serving everything on the menu, but whatever they are, they’ve already won my heart. Will go back soon.
Menu card not provided. How can we know what is available and it's respective price. Provide the menu card in haste or else no one can place their order.
For me their low fat biryani currently the best Kolkata biryani. Along the lines of Arsalan biryani but without the grease and strong essence. Goes down very easy on the tummy.
Have it everytime I come to the city and pack some more to take back
After having heard a lot of good reviews about this place finally I got to try it last week Thanks to swiggy long-distance delivery service.
We got 3 Biriyani (Mutton n Chicken) , 1 Chicken Chaap and 1 Mutton Shammi Kebab Chaap style delivered at home.
To start with, I must say every item was delicious.
After a long time we got the taste of ghee in Chaap, instead of using meat fat like regular places. Each box of biriyani had a generous portion of rice, a very well cooked good quality potato n meat.
Chicken Chaap was also good, but my favorite was Mutton Shammi Kebab.
Would love to order again and definitely recommend to try.
Haan ‘D’ Biryani => Offering a true contribution to the culinary lineage of Kolkata.!
While there are theoretical and ideological differences as to the origin and etymology of the word concerned, the very essence of Biryani, rather remains undisputed and uncontested. Undoubtedly a one-pot meal, much like the Pulao, but with a much higher usage of spices and a greater sophistication of flavours. Legends dispute whether the true meaning arise from the concept of the dish being ‘fried’ or rather this being an exemplified dish made out of rice, the exact origin and foundation of the dish rather goes unanswered. The culinary history of Kolkata however, owes its gratitude to its much Awadhi lineage, and forms as a direct descendant of the Lucknowi Biryani and hence contributes to much of our gastronomic voyage.
With a sharp contrast to the variations of Biryani found down South, our version is much fluffier and simpler, yet has a greater sophistication of spices. Potato gradually became an indispensable part of this Biryani, which again credits to two different facts to Wajid Ali Shah; one being potato being a much cheaper alternative to add on to the shortage of meat to feed the huge number of soldiers in the then Awadhi army, while the other notion leads to potato being a much expensive crop in the earlier days, and this being something the Nawab could easily afford as a show of aristocracy. He was perhaps the highest earning pensioner in the-then days, and contributed much of that amount in the upkeeping of his private zoo, something which we now popularly regard as the Alipore Zoo.
With the struggle of trying to be health-conscious, it is indeed hard to come up with a form of Biryani which looks good and tastes good at the same time, and in this current world of keeping up to the taste palettes of the ever-hungry appetites, Haan ‘D’ Biryani is one name which I can gladly suggest to everyone. While you do have some of the popular and renowned names as a permanent resort to upkeep to our moods and tastebuds, Haan-D Biryani is doing a great job of matching the flavours to our expectations. With the use of the long grain rice, they ensure that the final outcome comprises of a long and fluffier version, oozing out with flavours.
The oil count is kept at bare minimum, but even with the low calory content, they do an amazing job in keeping the filled with moisture. Talk about old schools of dining at some of the legendary joints, and I can barely keep with a Biryani as dry as the sand in a dessert. The potato adds on the charm by sucking in most of the moisture and aroma, and excels on top of the aromatic rice. The Mutton portion served, was perhaps one of the best in the market. The meat literally fell off from the bones, and with size that big, the price charged for this Biryani rather looked as a good buck for the earning. Pairing the flavourful Biryani up with their luscious, juicy and sinful Chicken Chaap was rather a match made in heaven.
The Chaap was moist and succulent, with again the meat easily falling off the bone. The Chicken was perhaps fried to light and golden brown, and then simmered on top of the gravy. Clearly gave an edge over the places reluctantly throwing off the meat on to the gravy, before frying them to perfection. The gravy was rich, but not too filling. The subtle concoction of poppy seeds and cashew paste along with the curd gave the gravy its texture, and stood as a perfect accompaniment to the rich and subtle Biryani. Their Shami Kebabs also excel among their customers, and stands next in line of my tryouts. They are open for takeaway and delivery via Swiggy Genie. Do give them a try if you want a change of flavour, perhaps for the very best!

I had been hearing about Haan-D- Biryani from my colleagues for quote some time and few days back finally decided to order from them. It was an awesome experience..Biryani was light and fantastic in taste ,unlike many others we had been having till now...It was so goo that I and my family are now hooked on to Haan- D- Biryani since then and prefer ordering from it whenever we feel like having Biryani and have also recommended many others to try.
Only issue is that we have to pre-book and order directly...Ordering over Swiggy is quite cumbersome as most of the time it says " not delivering at the monent"
One must try Haan-D-Biryani
Biriyani and Chaap .....just the best we had in Kolkata. Thrice got served at home in two months and look forward to more occassions. So tasty, yet so light and not a single soul felt it rich or oily. Boneless chaap is perfect match. Kudos to the team.
This time not going by the name, fame, glitz, glamour I chose to go by the reviews in Google and I tried Chicken Special Biryani and Chicken Chap with my family..to be honest, I am really very much impressed with the taste, the aroma, the softness of the rice, the tenderness of the meat and the overall quality of the Biryani they served. The most important thing is that there was no "choa dhekur" or " bodhojom" after having their dishes. I took my own vehicle to take my food from Gariahat and before reaching I was in doubt that whether my gamble would pay off or not....but I found peace as they just gave value and respect to my choice and decision. Just carry on with Your good will and open a dine in soon.
A true, classic Kolkata biryani. Very very light and subtle flavour. Some might even miss thr smell of attar. You can say this is the 180 degree opp. of the barrackpore style of spicy, greasy biryani which is so famous nowadays.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and especially the quality of the mutton.
I ordered via swiggy . The biriyani was good enough . Oily and tasty . But only the Mutton shami kebab was just so spicy . And i didn't like it. It was just like the mutton and gravy version of dominos meat ball .
