No other food can match the food of the Bengalis. This is an amazing place to have Bengali cuisine according to me. They have Yummy food and the service is good as well. A must visit

Well, I don't know why this place was so desolate, but I loved the food here. The staffs were friendly too. It's. Multi cuisine restaurant, most of the items were available except few and it's very natural. I got a chance to have my favorite continental dish after a long time. Chicken a la Kiev. I was happy. I would recommend people to visit here.
Co-operative staff and delicious food.... A great experience altogether. The floor manager is smart, customer-centric and knows how to give the best experience. Hat off Camellia Group.
Tried Bengali food for the second time & totally loved it. The luchi and sabjis tasted very good . Also tried jalapenos starter which was loaded with flavors in it . Will surely come back to this place soon :)

Decided to dine out here on last Sunday with all our family members. Trust me, first of all, I would like to say the ambiance is too good. Coming to the food it was just awesome. All staffs were very friendly & well behaved. Surely you are gonna love this place.
It is not very decent restaurant just fine because the Ambience is like so it might not appeal to everyone taste and the food is fine so overall 3.5 stars and the Bengali food is decent. Loved the chitol
Beautifully decorated. Ambience was quite good. However Maintenance is bad. Air Conditioning was not working properly. Walls were not maintained. Well, talking about the food, it was splendid. Had to wait a lot since we had opted for the buffet. Worth the wait. Staff was friendly as well.
It was Astami night , a bit rainy !! I was too much hungry along with my friend after pandal hopping all the day. I was looking for bengali dish ( বাঙালী খাবার ) and I found this place at Gariahat Mall. Trust me first of all I would like to say the ambiance is too good. Coming to the food, we ordered one combo veg and one combo non veg thaali. I would suggest you guyzz to watch my photos uploaded here. There was almost 18 to 20 items in a combo menu. I have visited all the metro cities through out the country but had not such combo thaali before. I would say, just visit this place and order a bengali non veg combo thali - I am sure you are gonna love this place.
I was slightly ticked off cause the Nearbuy.com page I bought a voucher for this place on didn't mention that the meal was TAKEAWAY! Well it did, but not in a way that it brought it to my attention :( (point to note about Nearbuy).
Anyway, the chicken biryani I had was as good as I've had anywhere else, a good helping quantity-wise and there were THREE PIECES OF CHICKEN!! For 99 Rs, I think you can't get better value. I would recommend it HIGHLY, at least if you get it for this price! The decor, notably, was also very nice, and the restaurant was also very large and spacious (didn't have much time to notice - I got TAKEAWAY, remember? :) )

Calcutta Retro is one of the Bong restaurant that not only brings out the flavors of Bengal Cuisine in its dishes but also bring the same in its interior and decorations.
The interior is beautifully decorated with paintings portraying Bengal Culture and most importantly Kolkata.
Food was average if you compare the price it charges. Started with Sukto, then Tandoori Chicken and then the Chitol mach er Peti. All the items were well presented. Tasted good.
Price was too much. When the bill came it was a sort of heart attack.

Incidentally I'm the first one to review this place. Okay, so here we go..
Decided to dine out here on Saptami night. Located on the 4th floor of Gariahat Mall, this place is well decorated and excudes the vibes of a fine restaurant.
Much to our delight, it was absolutely empty. Okay, it was sorta ghostly too, but other than that we were fine.
We ordered :
• Plain Naan - the usual. Needs no introduction. Was soft and not tough at all.
• Subz pulao - the quantity was really good. And it tasted really very good. Went very well with the mutton that we had ordered.
• Calcutta Retro Kosha Mangsho - this was a delight to our taste buds. Being a red meat avoider, I couldn't help but tuck in. Yes, it tasted so good. Consisted of 4 big pieces of soft and succulent mutton. Drooling already.
• Fresh lime soda
Overall, the food was delicious. And the service was prompt.
The pricing is a bit high. All this cost us 1200 bucks. But then the food was really good, and it made our night!
