This place has amazing ambience and good food. Tried their bhetki fry and it was so good ,we ordered again. Chinese preparations was also quite good, specially the soups .

The location is picturesque,there are two cafes with the same name - one serving Indian dishes and the other serving Chinese dishes. We tried the Chinese one, built in the shape of a house boat. food quality is ok and the pricing is decent.
Really liked the veg manchow soup. Also the view is to die for.

Aam panna Sharbat- again good n decent drink
Topshe Fry- battered topshe fry tasted really nice
Bhetki batter Fry- thought the fish could have been a bit better
Steam rice- good quality baskati rice served hot
Basanti Polao-sumptous authentic basanti polao served n garnished hot
Pyaaz Posto-. An amalgamation of poppy seed roasted n served with onion,excellent in taste
Daal- it was a kind of daal we prepare in our homes
Aloo bhaja- nothing beats a combination of bhaat daal n jhoori aloo bhaja
Chicken Duckbanglow -. Tender n juicy pieces of Chicken cooked in bengali style with appropriate spices n served with aloo n egg
Gurer Ice Cream- The desert part is incomplete without trying the traditional nolen Gurer Ice Cream,it was quite good in taste.
All in all a satisfied experience with good food n superb ambience by the water body overlooking.

Visited this place post sunset on a weekend... it's main USP is the overall ambience, not only inside but also on the outside !! ... we entered from gate 6 with our car ... and the driveway was quite serene peaceful and enjoyable upto the car parking area meant for the restaurant .... from there we had to walk a bit and that path was even better .. specially the wooden bridge ... decorated with lights on both sides .. creating a perfect romantic atmosphere .... it's a must visit for the lovebirds ...
Coming to food... it's not very extraordinary i would say, but not bad as well ...u won't be disappointed at least, if not overwhelmed .... the houseboat section which we visited serves only chinese items... there is a separate section for Bengali and North Indian dishes, which i am yet to visit .... there are small single room houses built across the waterbody which can be booked .. and a separate reception hall as well available for booking in occasions ...
It has become one of my favourite places to visit specially for the romantic atmosphere it creates around the whole area ..... next time i would be trying out the North Indian section ...

Firstly, let me tell you the things that are not good.
Food: only Chinese was served(and not too much variety)

Ambience: we came during night and the scenery and ambience was awesome.
The light and the water body view was extremely romantic.
If you come through the road and not through Eco park, the view would be even better.
The staffs were excellent too.
So, if you are looking for a romantic gateway and not worried too much about the food, you should like this place.
This place is famous for two things.. first is the amazing view where you are having your dine in a floating restaurant on a beautiful lake and 2nd is the attractive interior designing. Also food quality is very nice and the view inside itself makes the mood for a lovely evening with someone you love to spend time with.
This place holds a really special place for me...with its romantic set up and ambient location. The jetty facility makes it quite an experience..I have been there a few times and the first visit was in the month of August,which,again ,due to sudden titter patter rain..made it more appealing. Food and service were impeccable at best. My first taste of lamb went perfectly well..and also their mixed rice..I will highly recommend this place for people who love food in a beautiful location..
We waited for some good time on a Sunday afternoon before we could get a seat. But the food was worth the wait. Soup and starters were very good, specially Lat me kai. Main course was decent indeed, garlic chicken being the highlight. Special brownie points goes to the ice cream with brownie.

Ordered criapy potatos in honey chilli sauxe, mixed fried rice and kung pao chicken. Every dish is tasty and nicely prepared.. They dont serve nornal regular water instead they provide mineral water bottlw and that's chargeable..
One minus point for the manager or one staff eho doesn't know how many pcs of chicken are served in dishes.. He instantly said 5 to 6pcs.. For a 269rs dish which is extremely costly for me.
For starters, the menu that's depicted here on Zomato isn't the menu that you get at the restaurant. Once you take the jetty from eco park, you have two options here, one is a Bengali cuisine restaurant and the other is the Chinese cuisine houseboat one. We went for the latter. Ordered chicken hot pepper soup, pan fried chicken Chowmein and another chicken semi gravy dish. The food and the quantity is sufficient for two people. Taste wise was nice and the best part is obviously the ambience. Eco park closes early but the restaurant serves till 10pm, after which they provide you with a small motor boat to ferry you back to eco park for the exit. I loved the food, ambience and service. You can also rent out cottages in eco park if you want to enjoy the tranquility for a longer time.

Thumbs Up for the location, theme and the beautiful surrounding. The houseboat restaurant serves only Chinese cuisine and mocktails. Interior is okay but the view is superb.
We ordered garlic and lemon soup, mix fried rice, shrimp in white sauce and chilli Chicken with noodles. Food taste was really good and the quantity was good for up to 2-3 people.
Definitely a must visit place for all the Eco Park visitors. One can get free boat ride to the cafe from inside the park. Parking is available in the backside for Rs. 50.

Had it been a casual Sunday noon, we would have get a more soothing and tranquil atmosphere here. But it was the final day of the Football World Cup’18. There was some competition going on in the nearby field to pump the zeal.Hence it was bursting with all kinds of sound.
It was a long pending visit. We got a lovely sit beside the waterside window. The huge lake along with the modern,state of the art building of Mother Wax Museum was forming a beautiful backdrop.
Cosy seating arrangement with plenty of space between the tables adds on to the comfort.The restaurant serves only Chinese menu. We ordered, Cajun spice fish for the starters. Service was very prompt inspite of the huge rush. Six medium size golden-brown breaded fish fillet came soon on our table with some dip. From outside they were crisp ,with succulent chunks of fresh fish beneath. They were full of flavours. What we liked most was that the fish used was pure Bhetki.As main course, we ordered mixed Hakka chowmein and mixed fried rice with a dish with shredded chicken. There were plenty of prawns in the noodle and the flavour of Chinese allspice used in the gravy was creating a perfect blend. However, the kitchen staff prepared it as a similar one from the veg section and forgot to add the shredded chicken. As, we mentioned it to the floor manager,he was highly apologetic and was prompt to change the dish. Highly appreciable!!!
But as the dish was going perfectly well with the noodle which itself was already heavily packed with prawn and chicken pieces we felt not to waste it by changing.For dessert, we chose brownie with ice cream which also was of good taste and quality.
Similar to the other one serving Bengali cuisine, this restaurant of Cafe Ekante is also a perfect retreat to enjoy good quality food amidst nature.
Awesome decor, romantic ambience but food quantity toooo low according to price, 1 plate noodles is not enough for even 1 person...all the dishes are at a higher range...though taste is good, not so spicy and oily but they are charging too much,ordered mixed noodles and some sort of chicken side dish as suggested by the staff (forgot the name). When the staffs asked for feedback i told them about the quantity and high price, they replied every restaurant charges the same as they charge for all the Chinese dishes...i was not in a mood to make an argument so i just stopped giving any more feedback, next time even if i go i will go to the bengali cuisine restaurant but not here as there staffs were polite and courteous...
It is situated in ecoisland in ecopark. Beautiful ambience. Having food in here is awsome feeling. Food quality is average but the ambience makes it more delicious. We ordered manchow soup, fish starter, pan-fried mix chow , prawn side dish . Mocktails was awsome but caramel casterd was really bad. Overall nice place to spend some good time and have food.
Rating is for the place, ambiance and calmness at this place. Food wasn’t bad either, tried chicken king pao, lamb dish, fried rice and noodles and everything was decent except caramel custurd which wasn’t good at all. But you have to go to this place for the place it is.. beautiful

We celebrate the Last Bijoya Dashami by staying at Ekante Cottagea.
Last time when we were there this restaurant was under construction.
Basically it caters the Chinese and Continental dishes.We ordered a Lamb preparation and Chicken Lolipop preparation.Both was too good.In addition we ordered one Ice pice and another mocktail.
Ambience: Stellar. Gets even better in the evening.

Loved the ambience and the food. Went for Singapore Noodles and Chicken Red Sauce. Staff were neatly dressed and decked up. Service was slow otherwise everything was cool.

Went there with family last evening. Its basically a houseboat situated beside the main cafe ekante outlet. They serve chinese food. The decor with the scenic view is really eye catching. We ordered chicken dim sum and S &P infused paneer for starters. Singaporean chicken noodles, triple sechuan chicken rice, veg hakka noodles, kung pao chicken, soya chilli chicken and sezuan chicken. All of the food items were very lip smacking. Quantity is moderate, can be shared among two people. Really had a great experience. :)Rohit Shaw

If you are looking for a serene place for having a romantic dinner with your loved one, then do give a visit to this place. I'm sure it won't disappoint you. Wonderful ambiance and sumptuous food reminded us of Kerala! It is parked on middle island of ecopark. Their closing time is 1600 hrs for lunch but they served us at 1550 hrs with equal warmth. food was fresh and warm. overall a recommendable restaurant.
They also have some stay options ,surrounding was artistic and thoughtful.
one complain though:
1) ferry boat should have more capacity and more sophisticated.

Cafe Ekante is one of the best additions to Kolkata, this decade..There is this houseboat restaurant and other food outlets under the same brand name, including cafeterias, predominantly in the New Town Area..As far as the houseboat restaurant is concerned, a romantic dinner with your better half is always on the cards..You get a free boat ride to the restaurant anchored in the midst of the water body which in itself sets you up for a lovely and a memorable evening..The decor is classy, led by the golden dim lights and it goes amazingly well with the surroundings..You can sit indoors or grab a seat by the water side..Cuisine served is primarily bengali..We had ordered the Ekante Special Platter, which included Butter Rice with poached egg , kasundi murgi, mutton kebab and cheese fish steak + roasted papad..Quantity of this platter would leave 1 full but 2 wanting for a bit more..Kasundi murgi and the butter rice deserves special mention as both of them tasted delightfully delicious..mutton was good too..the steak was a disappointment though and despite being a huge fan of fishes i found the dish smelly...Service was okay and prices on the moderately higher side, but fine enough if you consider the lovely experience you are gonna have in the entire to and fro journey & the dinner combo...Would definitely recommend, specially to the couples and families..Have also tried their maacher chop at the cafeteria at the Nazrultirtha and was quite happy with the taste..

Just visited this place while having an outing at Eco Park. The view, the ambience is awesome, matched equally by the quality of the food. Refreshed the mind immediately. The price range is a little bit high though. Still the best place to hang out if you are planning for Eco park.

Very well conceived and planned. Excellent ambience and a perfect getaway from the city life. But could have cheaper food options and at least a complimentary breakfast, given the price we are paying. That was quite disappointing.
Also, the maintenance should be better planned. We did feel disturbed by the noise of the grass cutting machine, in the afternoon, right after we arrived on a Sunday. These could have been easily done on weekdays when crowds are less.
Lastly, with numerous cottages lying vacant, we were not sure why we were not given the one closest to the restaurant. At least a choice could be given. And these things do create a personalized experience which helps build a special and long lasting memory.
I'm giving it a high rating only because of the ambience... it was out of the world... very romantic place... perfect place for a date... staffs are very courteous... service was very good too... we ordered some of their mocktails and a prawn cutlet... all were decent... not very good but good enough for time pass... but the nolen gurer ice cream was superb... pocket pinch was acceptable...
Went to Café Ekante Houseboat Restaurant(not to be confused with Café Ekante) for lunch. Firstly i loved the décor. It felt like i was on a houseboat but not in Kerala,in Kolkata. The ambience was good. You can choose to sit both outdoors and indoors-outdoors if you want to get a feel of the lake.
Coming to the food,we ordered simolina fish fingers,followed by poulet a la king with buttered rice and ekante special platter. Loved all the dishes and service was also good.
Hope to drop by again soon.

I had been there yesterday to celebrate my birthday.it's an appropriate place for spending some quality time with your special one.ambience was superb.we have ordered 1 mocktail,ekante special platter it consists 2ps of mutton which ws really tasty,2ps of chkn which was so so and one fish and it was quite mouth watering.but the another platter we order fillet vetki with steamed veggies,rice but the main preparation ws quite dull in this platter...the fish quality was not upto the mark.nd we ordr nolen gur er ice cream at dessert nd it was cool!thanks to the zomato foodie for mentioning this.overall we found the place very nyc wrapped with nature and the houseboat concept is too good.food quality could have been better.

Much much more than the food, the high rating is for the ambiance. What a lovely sight! A big houseboat housing a restaurant. Limited seats, an extension to Cafe Ekante. They remain closed from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The menu is a fusion menu. Named, Cafe Ekante only their menu is different from the land cafe. The scenery setting is beautiful, with sofas to just sit and watch the sun set. The food is okay, a little overpriced. There is a bar but only for mocktails.

The place is actually a resort offering living in the cottages and includes a total of 3 restaurants - main one, houseboat and lawn. Houseboat serves only continental while the other two serve Bengali & North Indian only.
They don't serve alcohol to make the place perfect for family dining out.

The place is located inside ecopark. The ambience is superb. You can take your loved one for an exotic dine out in a location like this. Kudos to the ambience. The prices are little high.
Lovely experience sitting by the lake, enjoying a gentle breeze. Items are limited but of very good quality. The yakhni shorba wqs good and so was the mulayam fish kabab. The staff are a little ignorant about the nature of the items. For eg, we were told that the yakhni shorba is a mutton item, but it turned out to be a chicken item. The good food made up for it though.
A perfect birthday lunch it was...it's a restaurant with the concept of floatel. The outer structure of the restaurant was like a house boat. It's situated inside eco park, at the bank of eco island. It is beautifully decorated with wooden base. They have both ac and outside sitting arrangements.
The food quality is equally good...we ordered 4 platters for 4 people..and the quantity was satisfactory.

1 word... Location, location and location. Terrific ambience, good food, slightly overpriced.. Must try: Nolen gurer ice cream. Avoid the hot muffin with vanilla ice cream. The taste and quantity is good too.
The first thing notable about the restaurant is it's ambience. Situated on a house boat the restaurant offers spectacular view of the lake. The fusion foods are nice though of a bit higher price range. Especially good if you want to enjoy a scenic/romantic sundown sipping a cup of coffee.
Food suggestion: the fish fingers are actually awesome. Also I liked the spaghetti.
Highly recommended for romantic twosome sit togethers. Dinner is not recommended as the restaurant closes around 7:30 in the evening. If you want to go for lunch you may feel disappointed.
Note: You need to take a boat ride to reach the restaurant. Yes, that helps to build the romantic mood.

An unique themed restaurant - first of its kind ( I never been @flotel, but I am sure this one is better looking, at least I hope so😠). Looking for a lovely quite romantic evening with your bae@ water side???this is the Place. You have to reach there by boat ride arranged free of cost by cafe ekante management with condition you 'have to' eat something there😃 & trust me, you won't mind nor you would regret eating there....at least I didn't😠.
The rating and the review is only for the ambiance and only that... you can spent hours looking at the sunset or the park or people enjoying water sports in the lake or the night sky listening to the water keep thrusting the boat, I would recommend to seat outside only... coming to food, mocktails are good, rest items are nothing special, rather very ordinary and overpriced. Service is very slow but I won't blame the waiters as there's only two of them managing the entire section. As I am in love this place, I am not complaining any of that and I would keep visiting this place😃😠.
The theme of the restaurant is very interesting. You will love it if go there on a breezy evening. Sitting outside will be much more fun than inside.Food served is fresh and quite okay, but the options are extremely limited.

Excellect ambiance , a lovely place to dine with your family in the evening. Wanted to sit on deck by the lake , but we were 4 so had to sit inside the AC cabin . But a very nice experience. There is a seperate entrance away from the eco park crowd. Menu was limited but very interesting. Only continental with mocktails . The other resturant has more options i suppose. Food was nice we tried the ekhante platter , a bhetki preparation , bangldeshi chicken preparation , norel gur er icecream .... price is at a higher side but that was expected. Overall good experience will surely visit again.

The rating is entirely for the ambience. Open air outdoor seating and next to the lake - this is definitely the best in terms of ambience in kolkata. Service was also good. However the food quality left a lot to be desired. There is a separate entry and you do not have to enter eco park and hence can avoid the crowd and also the time required to wait for the boat to ferry you to the other side. The entire stretch is very well lit up, beautifully maintained and very romantic! Must visit for the ambience. And yes, this one on the houseboat serves only continental and mocktails.
Well it is actually a resturant on a boat. The whole concept is amazing. The outside sitting by the water will give you a perfect date ambience. Sitting arrangements are small though. But this dining on a boat is an out of the world experience. Tried their mocktails. Well made, tastes good.

A lovely dining place for families and friends. Everything from the building, decor, surrounding environment especially the lake in the background creating a fairy-tale atmosphere, menu, service is 5*. Specially commendable is the excellent behaviour of the staff. Highly recommended for all.
Food quality, taste was brilliant. I like spicy food. A bit on the costly side - 700 for one. Quantity was on the low side.
Ordered chilli garlic noodles and tangra chicken. The noodles is not '2 for 3' (as the they said) it is only 'one for one'. The chicken dish had around 10 pieces. Gravy was on low side.

It is a lovely place with a great ambience. However a few small things that the restaurant should address...
Firstly, if certain dishes from the menu are not served due to the supply or demand, that needed to be pointed out while the menu card was distributed. That way the customer won't be disappointed after deciding on the food and learning it was not available.
Secondly, we ordered one mutton and one chicken kossa with other stuff. We were told that the flavours and the tastes would be different. However both had the same gravey.
Still a must visit. We will definitely be coming back.

It's a beautiful place for small outing. You will have to enter through Gate 1 of eco park and avail boat facility to reach cafe ekante. This boat trip is free of cost. But if you want to go by walking then you need to purchase a coupon costing 300/- per person. It is available online too. Good thing is this coupons are adjustable with your food bill in the restaurant.
There are two restaurants on the island. One is a floating restaurant which has only Chinese options available whereas the other one serves other Indian, continental dishes. The scenic beauty of the boat is awesome. However, not advised for a full course lunch or dinner at least for the Bengali visitors. The quality of food is out of question in both places.
The cost of food is little on the higher side. We spend around 3900 for moderate lunch for 4 adults and 2 children. The taste was however quite satisfying.
Do check out this place at least for once ❤️

Ambiance is too good, most of if the foods were equally lip smacking. The service can be better.

Nice restaurant in the island of eco park. They have ferry service to reach to the restaurant. Food tastes good.
I just love the atmosphere and the surrounding of this place.. went there during Durga Puja lunch time,but no crowd,no queue.. whatever food they serve,it becomes tasty with the lovely ambience
Cafe Ekante is hosting Ilish Parbon from 30th June to 15th July (2023). After coming across this advert we decided to visit the place.
Lunch starts from 12:30. You need to buy tickets to get inside (₹300 per person which needs to be paid online via UPI). You can show this ticket during billing to get the same amount as discount.
We ordered Steamed Rice, Chanar Dalna, Ilish Bharta (tasted best and quantity was sufficient for 3-4 people), Tel Ilish, Ilish shorshe and Ilish Paturi. Amongst these we loved the paturi the most since it felt like the Ilish was not marinated properly or cooked in the gravy for long.
The fish taste was good and priced moderately, although these were not fresh but cold storage fish from last year.
When we visited, it was around 3 in the afternoon. The restaurant was not packed yet it took them around half an hour to serve us the dishes.
Overall it was a ok experience and suggest everyone to give it a shot, just for the Ilish Bharta.
The glasses were dirty on asking for replacement the waiter was like I don't see any dirt neither in water nor in glass and he just washed the glasses and gave them back. Food is expensive and quantity is kind of okay but good in taste. The atmosphere is really good.
Very good place in the middle of lake in the eco park. It has approach from 2 side. 1st you can come from eco park. There you will get ferry which will carry you to the restaurant. Or you can come by car just before 1st gate of eco park take the left turn. You will reach near Dhaba ajante. Where you have to buy Rs 300 coupon per head then they will allow your car to enter inside and you reach a parking area which is around 500 mtr away from the restaurant. You park your car there ( Parking 50rs) and go to the restaurant by walk through wooden bridge. For elderly they have cart. Food is good but option is mainly chinese. Ambience is nice.
Superb ambience! And splendid atmosphere, too good time spend some time with your loved ones.
Talking about the food, taste is really awesome, I had my best kulcha in this place. Though prices is on higher side , but there was no compromise with taste and hygiene.
Only con: is that you will have hard time to find a cab while returning from the place.
You can find delicious bengali dishes.From ilish paturi to kakra to prown, every bengali mouthwatering dish is available.Price is quite expensive,Food taste was delicious and hygienic, overall service is also fine.
