Fav place to hangout in Kolkata for vegetarians!
I tried both the outlets of BSS. The renovated camac street one is so cool and happening. It looks like a lavish cafe with so affordable prices that too of so tasty food items. I mean I can't express the taste but yeah the pics i'll share will do.
Never miss - chinese bhel and pav bhaji when at BSS .
and yeah crispy chilly baby corn too!!
I even tried dahi puri. It was so yummy + refreshing.
and tried veggie paneer dosa!
So ambience - 4/5
service -4/5
food - 4.5/5

I have ordered a cheese dosa, which amounted to a bill of Rs. 100. The price was ok compared to the food. The dosa tasted good. Happy with their service. 🙂
this food stall is located in South city mall inside spencer food court. was tired loitering in spencer buying stuff and probably beverage was the first thing on mind. Gave a try Bombay special faluda along with water melon juice( from same stall), trust me..it was more than relaxing to your body. Taste pretty good. it contain lots of fruits and nuts... it was lovely to try.
One of my favorite joints for quick vegetarian snacks. The chinese bhel and the papri chaats taste superb. Choices are less in the menu. Prices are on the higher side, specially the milk shakes and lassis. Dosas are okayish, but I would definitely recommend the papri chats. Waiting time is less too.
I've been in love with this brand since I was a child, frequenting the Camac Street outlet (which, by the way, is a huge restaurant). I've tried this at South City just once. The chinese bhel, papri chat and dosa are good. Not much variety here compared to the proper restaurant back next to Pantaloons, but you get a taste of what they're known for!

It's my patent place for south Indian food since south city food court has been shut down . Masala dosa and cheese dosa are the two items that I had from here . Worth every penny and the services are prompt too . Received second servings for chutney and sambar without any uncomfortable frowns from the staffs .
The only other Shiv Sagar establishment in the city, this one is located in the Spencer's Food Court in South City Mall.
They are famous for bringing the street foods of Bombay wherever they go.
This is one of the preferred places to go if one is opting for Vegetarian dishes.
Their menu has an array of fresh juices, milkshakes and lassis and their renowned Faloodas.
Most popular dishes here are the Pav Bhaji and the Chinese Bhel.
They also make Chaats,Vadas and Dosas.
We ordered the Chinese bhel here yesterday, after having a couple of shawarmas. It was decent, a bit low on quantity for a 100 rupees, but tasted fine. Can be tried occasionally.
Yummy vegetarian food. Thry make an amazing noodles which is just super delicious. But there is a huge queue before one can enter that place whivh at times becomes very tiring. Apart from that the chaats, the paw-bhaaji and especially the kulfi is just amazing.
A must go food joint!
Today at South city Mall.. I happened to have craving for some falooda dessert..
Had two of them... One Rose flavor another kesar!
Both were extraordinarily awesome.. served chilled and the falooda tasting so perfect !
Previously I had also tried their Chinese BHEL.. which is one of their signature dishes !
I am a moody-foodie you can neither call me veggie-inclined, pizzaholic nor do i die for biriyani . I am someone who's like " i am feeling like having a pizza " and here we go hunting for pizza with somewhat unaqcuainted taste. Sometimes i often get the " get me something chatpata " mood . Bombay shivnagar is my choice then . They make quite good South indian , but if you are looking for authenticity you wont like it much . But judging by taste i simply love it , specially the coconut chutney they serve with masala dosa and idly . It is a green one with hint of corriander ans mint , their sambar is tangy and spicy combo which you call specifically call chatpata. Other than that i like their chat too. The best part about this place is it is a perfect one for people like me . I am not much of that class concious hypocrites that can ignore their temptation for fingerlicking tasty street foood, again i am a hygiene freak where am i even gonna get a combo of street's taste and restaurant's ( read compromise worthy) hygiene???
Yeah Bombay shivnagar is the place , i swear if you taste their Cheese Pavbhajji you are definitely gonna love it .
let us not forget the sweet tooth part ! yeah i love their rose milk shake too.
And the best part ? it is so pocket friendly that even college kids can afford.

Located at Spencer's at South City Mall, this is a decent place for vegetarian people to satisfy their hunger. The Pav Bhaji here was quite good, and made me craving for more. Wanted to try the Dhosa, but had to go elsewhere.

Location is at spencers of south city mall
It definately reminds of mumbai..
The pau is yummy buttery and soft..
The bhaji is also very nice, but a little bt oily..
Must try
a small joint within spencers at the basement of southcity mall that offers different kinds of drinks and food items.
in the summer heat, we tried watermelon fruit juice and musambi fruit juice. good one and pocket friendly.
A very good place for vegetarians in the fish eating state. The taste of Pav Bhaji reminded me of the Bombay Branch. Same taste, but variety is limited as compared to the Juhu Shiv Sagar Branch In Mumbai(the Original one). Overall good as compared with rest of Kolkata.Felt I was at home in Bombay.

I have tried cheese pav bhaji.
Try once if you haven't tried it at all.
It's a good outlet.
It's in food court of South city mall.
I need to try Chaats and dosa from here.
Bombay Shiv Sagar brings you the taste of Mumbai Street food from Mumbai to Kolkata. Their pav bhaji, falooda, chinese bhel, pizzas and other food items are yummy. This place is very popular and always crowded. The service is good and you know the food they serve is fresh as the restaurant is never quiet. But my most favorite food here is masala dosa, it's yum.
Awesome food to have food with family and friends. Their Chinese bhel and paneer tikka deserves a special mention. Definitely good vegetarian place!
Located in the basement of south city mall(specner food court) this outlet serves deliciously awesome chaat an dosa(specially masala dosa)...Great place to have a quick bite...

A regular visit to spencer's food court might bring u to this outlet..i tried their dhania dosa and pav bhaji..well..i liked them....
I also tried their bombay falooda..it was very average though..
A good enough place to go to if we crave for tangy chaats. They have a wide variety ranging from Pav Bhaji,Chinese Bhel, Papri Chaat, Puchkas with sweet and sour water, dosas, juices, Faloodas et all. I love most of their stuff but my favourites are the papri chaat,Chinese bhel and falooda. I also like their Pav Bhaji.Recommend ed for tasty, tangy Street food.
Veg can be Sooooo good :) Well this is the only Place where I always love to try Veg foods, Their Falooda..Yummy, n I am Fan of their DHOSA too .
I tried their Phuchka, yumm chilled Pudina flavored water

Well!! To be honest, its a cool place to tingle your taste buds with some "chat" kind of snacks/street-foods, where the taste is good, quality is descent. But somehow, it seems like the price is not justified in comparison to the taste, quality and the quantity of food they serve. Rather, I should say, the items are overpriced out and out.
But overall, its a cool place.
I preferred lunch here on my visits to the mall.. All kinds of chaats and south indian food items are good.. you can give it a try..
Place is not very spacious as compared to the crowd.. people wait and look at your face desperately hoping you would get up soon and make space for them.. This factor hinders a peaceful lunch... So go only when you have enough time..
Anyways, price wise and taste wise it is good !!

This food joint situated in the spencers food court within south city serves awesome Masala Dosa, Idly, Tawa Pulao, Chinese Bhel, Pani puri, Papri Chaat and delicious Falooda. We have been visiting this joint from last 2-3 years and the taste of food is really awesome and they maintain a good service and quality. The taste of Sambar here is really awesome. Even the Paw bhaji which I missed to mention is a must try
Awesome food joint for dosas and drinks...satisfies your thirst as well as hunger!!! I make it a point to visit whenever i visit spencers at south city :) Looking forward to visit again soon!!
When this foodie has a sudden craving for vegetarian street food, and she is anywhere near South City Mall, she heads to this Bombay Shiv Sagar counter. Just thinking about that tangy bhaji with the soft, hot, buttery pav makes me want to go get a plate of their ‘Pav Bhaji’ right now.
Fans of the dosa have plenty to choose from. The ‘Paper Dosa’ and ‘Cheese Masala Dosa’ are favourites. This counter is also a good option if you are looking for an alternative to a carbonated beverage to wash down your meal. You can either have your meal here or opt for a take-away.
This small counter inside the Spencers food court is the safest to opt for the vegetarians.. as they serve good quality food and is affordable.. my fixed order for here is onion-cheese dosa which is not on the menu but i get it made specially and fresh watermelon juice ! :D
This is one of the better outlets in the cramped up spencers food court. The menu has diverse options from chats to shakes to faloodas to deserts. Finally, wr decided to have cold coffee and a special bombay falooda.
Both the dishes were presented in a nice fashion. The cold coffee was very tasty and refreshing. Though my friend found its taste a little bitter, but for me it was good. The falooda was excellent. It had toppings of cherries and nuts. Just that it was too sweet. This is the best place in south city to have some refreshing drinks. I'm yet to try out the chats here.
VISIT
I visited this outlet of The BSS with my family on 26/05/2015.
AMBIENCE
The outlet doesn't have nay good ambience of its own except for the fact that it is situated in the South City Mall. The Spencer's food court also add to its ambience.
FOOD
Bombay Shiv Sagar is one of the best places in The City of Joy for the veg fast food lovers. We ordered for the ever-in -demand chinese bhel which has been a very successful food invention of this restaurant chain. Moreover,we ordered for some chats where too this restaurant made us dumb with its good quality powered by good taste. The masala chat was a unique one and it is worth its reasonable price. Moreover, the sev puri also looked quite beautiful. The dosa was also crisp and large in size(similar in taste to paper dosa). The sambhar was luscious but the chutney was ordinary. The masala too lacked some uniqueness and was plain.
SERVICE
The service was fast. The staff was helpful as well.He acceded to my requests for tissues and extra spoons and forks whenever i had asked him although he looked displeased when i had asked for more spoons.

This place is located in Spencer's food court.
I came here with my mom today, very hungry and rained on.
We ordered onion masala dosa, mango milkshake and lime soda.
Service was fast enough, and billing was pocket friendly.
Onion Masala dosa was not bad. It was the standard dosa we eat.
Milkshake was good too, however I found the lime soda a bit too bitter.
Overall this place is okay if you are really hungry.

Location: Inside Spencer's (Near Exit/Billing Counter), Basement, South City Mall.
• How many heads?
Four heads.
• Was it a kiosk or a restaurant?
It was a counter in the food court near the Spencer's exit. Visually, looked hygienic and systematic. Seating arrangements provided by the Spencer's management.
• What was on offer (fare)?
The menu was pretty widespread with options for Chaat, Chinese, South Indian, Shakes and Desserts.
• What did you ORDER?
- Puchka/Paani Puri [7 pieces]
The Puchkas were crisp with a decent mashed potato filling. Served along with flavorful paani (khatta & meetha).
Tasted decent.
- Chinese Bhel
The crisp noodles were tossed in a tangy sauce along with fresh veggies. Was flavorful and tasted good.
- Masala Dosa
The dosa was well made, the masala was flavorful. The sambhar was tasty, but the coconut chutney was watery and decent tasting.
- Pao Bhaji
Two buttered paos served along with flavorful bhaji, a lemon wedge and chopped onions. Tasted good.
- Fruit Custard with ice-cream
Well-prepared custard served with a scoop of vanilla ice=cream. Tasted good.
- Cola Float
Nothing exceptional, but, tasted decent. A dollop of vanilla ice-cream in a glass of cola. The ice-cream could have been a little more frozen.
- Cold Coffee
A well-prepared chilled coffee with a drizzle of chocolate sauce along the middle of the glass. Tasted good.
• Was the portion size sufficient?
Yes. For two, the quantity of each (Puchka, Chinese Bhel, Pao Bhaji, Fruit Custard with Icecream) was sufficient. And, since we were four, the number of items ordered were as a whole sufficient.
• How was the STAFF CONDUCT and SERVICE?
The staff were courteous and well-informed.
The service was prompt.
• Would the COSTS be pocket-pinching?
Not at all. The costs are slightly inclined towards the moderate end, but, the quality was in tune to the price charged. :)
• Any suggestions?
Yes. Check on to the little flaws before it's too late.
Overall a decent experience.
- Would certainly return for more.
Located inside spencers in South city mall.Decent outlet with Decent food.Tasted their chinese bhel which was tasty, even tried their dahi puri and sev puri which was really delicious.other items on the menu are just normal, nothing over the top. But yes it never comes close to original shiv sagar of Mumbai.Over all a good experience.
Located in the spencer's outlet at south city its always bustling with orders throughout the day.One of the most busiest counters in the food court it offers a wide mouth watering snacks and drinks range that's aptly priced. The staff is friendly, service is fast and food is tasty. The fusion foods like chinese bhel is a must try.
Happy eating and drinking
Had Aloo Chat from this place. Street food from this place is delicious and just awesome. The aloo chat was very tasty and above all the price here is very reasonable. The serving time is also okay. If you are looking for yummy street food with hygiene factor in mind then this is the right spot to hit.
This joint is housed in the food-court at Spencer's outlet in South City mall. The fare available here is the staple North and South Indian variety along with juices and dessert items. Amongst the north indian stuff i have sampled are the papri chaat, pani poori, sev puri chaat. All the items were pretty decent, tasty and best part was prepared in very hygienic environs.A welcome break from the road-side dingy stalls though chaat freaks swear by them saying that its tastier. Each to his own i say. I am yet to sample their dosas and juices.Though they seemed quite okay as far as appearance goes.
Items are rightly priced by mall standards i must say.Must try items-Bombay falooda, papri chaat and super fine flaky dosas.
The Falooda of Bombay Shiv Sagar makes me crazy every time !!! Its sooo yummy !!! Mom and I also ordered paper dosa and the size of the dosa is HUGE !!! We couldn't complete the whole thing :-P . But Falooda... I never get enough of this ever :-P
This is the second outlet of "Bombay Shove Sagar" located inside the Spencer's hyper of south city mall. Serving a wide variety of mouth watering north Indian and south Indian street foods and savories with perfection. Their offerings include succumbing varieties of paapri chaats, mixed chaats, bhel puri, pani puri pav bhaji, dosas, idli juices, lassi, coffee, shakes, faludas, fruit custards etc; so if you love to savor authentic street food dalicacies but in a hygenic and comfortable ambience then this is the place to be.
While shopping at Spencer’s my friend and me came across Bombay Shiv Sagar and as we were extremely hungry, we could not think of any other place. It is purely Vegetarian. It is a self service.
I ordered papri Chaat, Chinese bhel and Bombay Special Falooda for ourselves. If you love something spicy and chatpata you should definitely try papri chaat here. OMG it was yummy. Chinese bhel was ok. Bombay special falooda according to my friend was wow but for me I hate falooda so can’t review on that.
The best part is that it’s not at all pricey.
While shopping, we saw this outlet at spencers and we decided to have our snacks from here.
I ordered for Chinese bhel and my friend ordered for a veg grilled sandwich.
Commenting on the bhel is indeed worthless because everyone knows it is legen-wait for it- dary.
However I was very apprehensive about the veg grilled sandwich. I mean grilled sandwich minus cheese? Who has that? Well certainly my friend does!
However it wasn't as bad. Infact it was really good, however full of tomatoes and I hate em :3
Anyway, it was a decent experience. And hence goes a 3.5 from me!
This outlet of bss is convenient for and thus I hop in here whenever I have a "chatpata" craving!! I love their chinese bhel, cheese paw bhaji, onion dosa and kulfi with falooda the most! This joint is well known among the vegetarians and certainly keeps up to the name it has earned for itself!
This small outlet in the food Court at Spencer's Hyper Mart does brisk business doling out rather nice vegetarian fare. Apart from some basic South Indian items they have North Indian chaats, vada pavs, etc. A range of juices, kulfis etc grace the sweet department.
What I and my wife really appreciate here is the aloo chaat. Very lightly and well made. None of that overpowering masala one gets at most other places. Light, flavourful, not too much salt, that you can actually taste the potato :)
Worth the money.
i went with my friends to southcity yesterday for some shopping ...we were there for an hour roaming around in the spencer's when our hunger callls came up and we decided to have something from bombay shiv sagar..i have tasted their food when i hav visited mumbai...in spencers they have a small outlet beside tea junction..
we ordered for pav bhaji, masala chaat, chinese bhel, vanilla with hot chocolate fudge and kesaria falooda..their preparation of chinese bhel which was very spicy and those fried noodles in it was tangy and pav bhaji was too good..and the falooda was as usual of superlative taste and the speciality was their vanilla with chocolate fudge which i thought wont be good was excellent the decoration mesmerised me and it was just mindblowing i loved it...
this place is pocket friendly and the amount is enough to satisfy your tummy...
for people who love veg will definitely like their food and who doesnt like they too will love it..i would definitely visit it again with my friends...
Visited Spencer's for my usual weekly shopping day before yesterday and as it was late evening I was feeling quite hungry. However weighed down by shopping bags and in a rush to get home after a long day at work I was in no mood to trudge all over South City Mall so I took a look around the Food Hub Inside Spencer's and decided to grab a Papri Chaat , my friend ordered a Pav Bhaji and Cola Float . The Papri Chaat was good and I polished it off in a jiffy as I was hungry .... I tasted the Pav Bhaji which was nice but not the best I have had. The Cola Float you can't go wrong with and it was a huge big treat when we were kids so it always has a happy association for me. I have also had their Chinese Bhel which is very nice on a prior occasion and if you like Chopsuey with the crispy noodles (I know I do) then you will like this concoction too.
A nice place for a quick snack. Decent portions and pocket friendly prices.
Bombay Shiv Sagar - A small outlet can be seen inside South City basement, Spencer's Mall.
---------
Brief:
I had made a visit few days back to this outlet and as its a pure vegetarian place, a lot of people tend to shift towards it. Their excellent preparation of Chinese Bhel also mesmerises a lot of customer. I had visited the one inside the Pantaloons long ago and was amazed to see this small kiosk inside the Spencers.
---------
Food:
As, i was trying various other foodhub's nearby, i could not get a chance to try much.
However, i had tried:-
Idli - The idli was served to me hot with the usual sambhar and chutney. The idli was tender.
---------
Summary:-
1) Promptness of service 4/5
2) Food quality 4/5
3) Food quantity 4/5
4) Value for money 4/5
---------
Conclusion:
If you are a vegetarian, it cannot happen that you have not visited Bombay Shiv Sagar. :) Will definitely come back to try more dishes. :)
When Bonbay Shiv Sagar moved off city center i was really sad... Having lived in Mumbai Shiv sagar is an eternal part of the life there... And they just make a falooda to die for... Ice cream ... syrups... and those sabja seeds ( basil seeds) are to die for ...
As scary as it may sound, i simply love their Chinese bhel .... Basically bhel made with fried noodles and its sweet, spicy and tangy .....
Seeing them in south city was quite a blessing, as i got my dose of papari chat ... and falooda and brilliant as always.
They also make a really nice paw bhaji and also nice milk shakes
One of the best 100% vegetarian restaurants in Kolkata is called Bombay Shiv Sagar, which I believe is a vegetarian's paradise. Both the quality and amount of the food were excellent. The things we tested were: Manchow / tomato soup: the soup was only merely passable. Chinese bhel: It was delicious in every way. SHOULD TRY!! It had the softness of paneer and the firmness of vegetables, like paneer tikka. Crispy and salty French fries. Crispy like the traditional Chinese with sauce, baby corn paneer cold! Dal makhani: The tastes of dal and kidney beans, the richness of the butter, and the abundance of spices all work together to delight the palate. Smooth Cheese Garlic/Butter Naan. such as masala papad and malai kofta.
Bombay shiv sagar is one of the finest pure veg restaurants in Kolkata, which I think is bliss for vegetarians. The food was explicitly good in taste and also in quantity.
Items that we tried were:
Manchow / Tomato soup: the soup was just okay.
Chinese bhel: We loved every bit of it. MUST TRY!!
Paneer tikka: It felt like the softness of paneer and hardness of Vegetables.
French Fries: Crispy and salted.
Baby Corn paneer chilly: Crispy like the Classical Chinese with the sauce!
Dal makhani: The taste buds will love the flavors of dal and kidney beans, the richness of the butter, and the cornucopia of spices all at the same time.
Cheese Garlic Naan/ Butter Naan: Smooth.
Malai kofta, masala papad etc..
About the restaurant:
Staff: Ample number of staff to assist.
Sitting arrangement: Tables were clean but a bit congested out there.
Game: There were two games for the kids to enjoy near the entrance gate.
It’s a MUST TRY AND VISIT restaurant, if you are in KOLKATA and hardcore chinese lover.
Searching for delicious meal then don't forget this place ✨ Bombay shiv sagar best place in town my all time favourite family dine in restaurant with good food and good service ❤️👌loved it
Superb Food... Best North Indian cuisine in Kolkata. Food quality, service, everything is perfect. Best for snacks, Street food, Italian & North Indian recipes especially for pure vegetarian people.
Go there and you won't regret it.
A very good vegetarian restaurant with delicious and variety of foods.. at camac street.. Specially the pav bhaji is amazing.. Other dishes were average to nice..
Prices are reasonable.. Quality is good..
Taste of foods are likely..
A must visit place..
The food here is just fabulous. A must visit for all the Vegetarians. This place is great for Chinese cuisines as well as fast food. The tangy Chinese Bhel and the different kinds of Pav Bhaji is what makes them famous along with the more classical Chinese dishes like Babycorn Chilli. Apart from these you'll love the Indian Dinner options. Naan , kababs, shahi paneer to jeera rice. This place has the whole Indian Wholesome And tasty cuisine.
Delighted with my experience at the veg restaurant! The ambiance was inviting, the staff was friendly, and the menu offered a diverse range of flavorful vegetarian dishes. Each dish was a culinary delight, showcasing creativity and attention to detail. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and the presentation was appealing. The service was prompt, adding to the overall positive dining experience. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor delicious, plant-based cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere.
Visiting Bombay Shiv Sagar, I was immediately captivated by the inviting ambiance and warm hospitality. The menu offered an extensive array of authentic dishes, each bursting with flavorful ingredients and expertly crafted sauces. From the savory aroma of freshly foods, every bite was a delightful journey into Chinese cuisine. The service was impeccable, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Overall, Bombay shiv Sagar a haven for those seeking an authentic and satisfying taste of China, where exceptional flavors and attentive service harmonize seamlessly.
The restaurant was close to Camac Street and had a pleasant atmosphere. The service was satisfactory. Extremely packed on weekdays and weekends, however bookings are accepted. The Italian and Chinese starters were rather tasty, but the North Indian meal did not live up to the expectations. Prices ranged from fair to expensive. able to travel with friends and family...
Bombay Shiv Sagar serves some lip smacking vegetarian food starting from traditional South Indian and North Indian food to even Chinese food.
😋 We tried :
Special Garlic Cheese Sandwich
Cheese Pav Bhaji
Chinese Bhel
Chole Bhatura
Fresh Lime Soda
😍 Experience: All the items were great and quantity was great. The sandwich is most definitely one of the best veg sandwiches we've ever had and the Chole Bhature was huge in size, enough for two people to share. The Pav Bhaji and Chinese Bhel were hearty and filling.
❤️Must Try : Special Garlic Cheese Sandwich, Chole Bhatura
Being a bengali I hate dining at a vegetarian restaurant, but had to go there because of my friend.. The quality of the food was really impressive.. The crispy chilly baby corn is to die for.. Along with that we had masala kulcha, nargisi kofta and lime soda.. Each one of those hit out of the park.. The service is extremely good and very polite.. If you are going there, it's going to cost you around 900-1200 for two.. Much recommended
Bombay Shiv Sagar captivates with its authentic flavors and warm ambiance. From savory samosas to aromatic biryanis, each dish is a delightful journey through Indian cuisine. The attentive service complements the inviting atmosphere, making every visit a memorable experience. Don't miss their delectable desserts, adding a perfect finale to a fantastic dining affair. Overall, Bombay Shiv Sagar is a must-visit gem for anyone craving exceptional Indian fare.

It is a perfect family friendly restaurant. The food is decent, especially dosa and pao bhaji. The chola bhatura was oily though.
If family dinner is in your mind, this is where you might want to head to. Good food definitely lifts up the mood for everyone. Might be crowded so advance booking is recommended or arrive early.
P.s. Chola Bhatura fans, go for it!!☺️
Pure Vegetarian restaurant in Kolkata near park Street / camac Street area .
Rates are slightly High.
Firstly I was not aware of Such Good pure veg restaurant available in Kolkata specially in the Maidan area .
So after a long research chose this today for the dinner and totally satisfied.
Due to our own fault in the main course the sabzi's were having less salt but that was misunderstanding no hate to the chef's.
The Ambience is so good , it gives a positive vibe even the staff is friendly no ill - behaviour.
