Their Biriyani is love.Their Pork Bacon tastes so nice. One of my favourite restaurants.I would suggest Please go there and have their Biriyani as well as pork Bacon once.I assure that once you will go there you will go twice.
Such a classy and elegant place.
Love the place. Perfect for family lunch or dinner.
Had been there to celebrate special occasion. Its a beautiful joint well decorated well mannered staffs. We took two chicken starters which were excellent with juicy chicken. Main course chicken pavilored was good but grilled chicken somewhat disappoint us.
Absolutely satisfying experience. Marco Polo made my birthday evening. All the dishes were top notch. Mutton was the show stopper. The best Kosha Mangsho I had in a restaurant. Distinct flavours. Try it with the Pardewali Naan. And how good was the Sikandari Dum Biryani! Full of flavours with quite a few succulent mutton pieces. For starters we had Murg Tikka Dilmun, which was so soft and tasty, and we also ordered the melt in the mouth stuff, Grilled Bhetki. All the staffs are attentive and courteous. Prices are on the higher side, but when consider the decent portion, quality of service and the classy ambience, you shall not regret paying for it. Great value for money. They also offered me a complimentary cake cum dessert as it was my birthday. Thanks to Souman Banerjee and Marco Polo.
This place will surprise you.
I remember Marco Polo from my one-time childhood visit, and theirs was the first mousse I had.
When I revisited the place after years, I was sure the standard had gone down. The dimly lit almost empty restaurant seemed to confirm my suspicions.
Their menu was fancy, and we ordered both the basic and uncommon dishes. Here's what we had:-
Mint Jalapeño Cream Soup
Bruschetta con Pomodoro e Basilico
Golden Crumb Fried Bhetki
Grilled Pork Chops
Chelo Kebab
Bekti á la Meunière
Chocolate Mousse
Each item was delicious, fresh and just as it was supposed to be. Needless to say, the Mousse was exactly how I remembered it. The meat is tender, and the fish melts in your mouth.
The two suggestions I would give are:-
To the management: Brighter lighting would be appreciated, the young generation takes pictures!
To the customers: Please opt for the Italian cuisine over the Indian cuisine. You're eating at MARCO POLO for God's sake.
Had lunch today at Marco polo southern avenue. Restaurant is near to the crossing of southern av and sarat bose Rd.
Ambience - 4/5
Staffs-4/5
Location-5/5
Food - 5/5
Ordered fried bhetki as starter.. Followed by murg hundi biriyani and chicken stroganoff as main course. All the dishes were mouth watering and delicious. Experienced different kind of biriyani without potato and egg. But the aroma was something different.
It was well cooked with boneless chicken.
Overall fully satisfied and highly recommended.
Marco polo means an elegantly done restaurant which serves really great continental food at very reasonable price. Visited with a group of friends on 1st October. We ordered 4 items in starter : 2 prawn items - Gambas Al Ajillo & Crumb fried prawns , 1 Murg Tikka Dilmun and 1 bruschetta for one of our vegetarian friends. All the starters were amazing, special mention goes to Gambas al ajillo- recommended. In main course each of us ordered one dish : prawn thermidor, lamb chop, chicken steak, pork chop etc. My pork chop was too yummy served with lots of mushrooms. I tasted lamb chop but it was little bland. About Prawn thermidor 2 people had 2 different opinions. I enjoyed my dish : pork chop along with a glass of cosmopolitan. I always love Marco polo as it never disappoints me.
It was my 2nd time visiting this restaurant chain ,earlier I had visited the Park Street branch and this branch varies a little based on looks and interiors , nonetheless food is top notch and we had a really good experience there .
We had :
1.Grilled Pork chops :The meat was tender and juicy and sauce was also delicious , combined with sauteed mushrooms and roasted baby potatoes it was quit a mouthful . 4.5/5
2.Chicken Steak :It was okay but we had had better still taste and presentation wise it was good . 4/5
3.Prawn Thermidore : It felt the quantity was a little less for one ,3.5 /5
4.Chelo kebabs : The soft lamb meat is definitely a score ,best chelo kebabs still date ! 4.5 /5
5 .Penne al Pollo pasta , of which I regrettably was unable to take a photo. However taste was delicious and quantity sufficient for one . 4/5
Overall experience is really good ,during my first visit I tried Indian cuisine and this time having Continental ,I must say both cuisines are served in terms of taste and service .
Location- This resturant is located near desapriya park.
Food- We have ordered 2kabab items for starter and 2to chicken items and pardawali paratha..sorry could not remember the dish names. But the taste of the items were too good and quantity was also enough
Ambience- The ambience was really good spacious.
Price- The price of the items are worthy with its taste and quantity
Visited this lovely place during Durga Puja. As expected it was crowded and had to wait for 15-20 mins. The ambiance here is nice. The food is super tasty and everything on point... The service was quick and the staffs were quite courteous. The only reason to give it a 4 star is that if the place is crowded the staffs will hurry youbup to finish the food and drinks, which i think is quite unprofessional. overall definitely a must try given the taste of the food 😎
Yesterday i visited Marco Polo... ambience n the decor was so classy. Every single food was tasty.. specially chello kebab and biriyani... Every single thing was up to the mark...
Last night I went there with my frnds..spent a wonderful time there..this restaurant located in southern avenue..they hv beautiful sitting arrangement.. Ambience also superb👍Foods r really awesome..we tried bengali foods & all r awesome..👌staffs r really helpful, polite, good behavior...all over it's a really nice experience there👌👌
A long wish to fill up my taste buds with food from this place got fulfilled yesterday. The day was Nabami of the Grand Festival Durga Pujo. Even though I was a bit skeptical about the time by when they would be able to provide us with a table, but surprisingly it took us 30-45 minutes to get seated. We opted for the Pujo buffet at 850+tax for each person as that was quiet economical in a place like Marco Polo where prices, I feel, is overpriced. The menu that they are serving for all the pujo days i.e from Sashti to Dashami are
1. Salad2. Macher Chop
3. Koraishutir chop4. Luchi5. Cholar Dal6. Alur Dom7. Chamar Kofta8. Posto Potol9. Dhonepatar Chicken10. Golda Chingrir malai curry11. Bhetki Paturi12. A dish of Mutton.12. Chutney13. Papad14. Sandesh15. Rabri16. Malpoa17. Fresh Lime Soda (we took additionally and costed 285 for 3 glasses)
Now coming to the dishes, each and every item was awesome in taste with special mention to the dhanepata chicken that was soft and the taste of dhanepata perfectly mixed with the chikcken with all the right spices.
I did not like the potol posto as it had no salt and tasted blunt, and the mutton which was hard and not cooked properly to be served.
Overall the experience was quiet enjoyable with the amount of Rs 2972 for 3 person being very usual price for a Buffet.
Even though today is the last day for this buffet menu, but still if anyone has any plan for Dinner/Lunch they can give this place a chance.
Note: A la carte is also available, with the usual prices. Lunch/Dinner same menu.

Well finding a suitable place to feast in durga pujas is really a tough situation. During these four days, the best restaurants even miss out their goal to provide best quality foods. During Soptomi, it was our decision time to make out to a good restaurant where we can at least expect some good quality foods. We chose to go to Marco Polo located at Sarat BOSE Road, Southern Avenue.
It's a double storeyed building and obviously is a large spacious place. We came across people who visit this place quite frequently and trust their food quality a lot.
After waiting for some time finally we got the opportunity of having some food there.
The staffs were really good at their behaviours and were quite guiding us with the food items, which was the first plus point of giving this place a 5 star rating.
Nextly, the food items and their quality made me gave this rating. We ordered
🔹 GOLDEN CRUMB FRIED BEKTI (Highly recommended)
🔹 CHICKEN CHANGEZI
🔹 KADHAI CHICKEN
🔹 GREEN PEAS PULAO
🔹 BUTTER NUN
🔹 WALNUT BROWNIE WITH ICE CREAM
🔹GOLDEN CRUMB FRIED BEKTI :This was the best fish fry I ever had. In most of the places u will definitely not get the pure Bekti fish, but this is the place serving fresh and pure Bekti which is worth the taste. They didn't add much spices to the fish and kept it simple, where the flavour of Bekti fish was much to be felt. They serve 2 pieces along with tartar sauce. In one word it was amazing. This place mostly excel in Bekti preparations, so if u r planning to go to Marco polo, u should try them out.
🔹CHICKEN CHANGEZI AND GREEN PEAS PULAO :The chicken preparation was quite good. It had all that thick creamy thing in it. Not so spicy and chilly and went perfectly with the Green Peas Pulao which was again too fresh and nice.
🔹KADHAI CHICKEN AND BUTTER NUN:Well, if u r a spice lover then definitely it will arouse ur tasting buds. This preparation has a tinge of smokiness in it and is damn spicy and goes well with Butter Nuns. The Butter Nuns, were so crispy and tasted so good. Loved them.
🔹WALNUT BROWNIE WITH ICE CREAM :How much u eat, there will be surely a place left in ur stomach for some delicious desserts and nothing can be better than having some brownie with vanilla ice cream. Beautifully presented and yummy to taste this one was the last item we ordered.
However, this place is quite pricey but if u want some really Lip smacking foods at their best qualities then definitely Marco Polo is the place u need to go. I never found a place worth their quality when it comes to the time of Durga Puja, but this place really amazed me. Planning to visit this place soon again. 😉❤️
Today in the occasion of Maha navami I went there with my best friend to try their special pujo buffet. On our arrival they immediately gave us seats, because we arrived at 12:30. After that we saw a long queue waiting outside. They have separate arrangements for buffet and ala karte. As we chose buffet they gave us seats on 1 St floor which is for buffet lunch. On our arrival support staffs welcomed us and tell us about the huge spread. We tasted below items
▶️Salad which includes cucumber, onion and tomato's and lemon
▶️Fish chop
▶️Chana koraisutir chop
▶️Luchi
▶️Choolar dal
▶️Aloo dom
▶️Potol posto
▶️Steamed rice
▶️ Chicken preparation
▶️Vetki paturi
▶️Prawn malaikari
▶️Pulao
▶️Dinajpuri kosha mangsho
▶️Chatni and papad
▶️Sandesh(3types)
▶️Malpua with Khir
All the items are delicious, they are served hot and they refill the plates as soon as it got empty.
Plus the courtious staffs makes the atmosphere like our home only...

Pocket pinch-850+tax
Saptami lunch(2019 dugga Pujo pet pujo) has to be special with my special one.. we both loved the ambience and the gesture of the staff.. come to the food part i would like to rate it 4/5. It has huge menu in their buffet list.
Startn from fish to mutton chicken prawn, luchi cholar dal potol posto.. desert kheer, sandesh malpoa.. overall we both had a good time and quality food.
Thank You Marco Polo.👍🙂
Excellent preparation all the dishes we tried were good ....hope to be back during pujas😁😁😁😁😁😁
Located near Desapriya Park, this place is a pure bliss. The ambiance and decor is very nice.
.
I totally love their special mutton biriyani which has a beautiful aroma and tastes beautiful. Their kababs are really good. Murg Changezi is a must try dish.
.
Overall a good experience. Also recommended.
Nice ambience..good food.food is little over priced. We tried
1 Hariali kabab
2 Briyani with raita
3 hot brownies with vanilla ice cream
Definitely visit again 😊
I have been to this place quite a few times. I like this place specially because of their starters. Ambience here is nothing extra ordinary but a calm and soothing. Coming to the food we ordered
1. Grilled bhetki - Fillets of bhetki served with lemon butter sauce and boiled veggies. This is one of my favourite dishes.
2.murg tikka dilmun - This is spicy starter and can be tried atleast once.
3. Murgh malai nazakat - Another favourite item cheesy chicken chunks soft and well cooked.
4. Murgh kaali mirch - This was a main course item. Really spicy and tasty. Must try.
5.sikandri dum biryani - A very light and different taste biryani can be tried once. Recommended.
I've visited this place a several times as this placs has the potential to make you it's regular customer. Everything is perfect. From food to decor , nothing can disappoint you !
Amazing restaurant with delicious dishes.. Went with my family ..Perfect place for family.. And the ambience was just beautiful..
Overall it was an awesome experience.. Will definitely visit next time
It is located on the Main Road and is quite easy to locate. It is located on the opposite side of The Streak Factory, a two minute walk.
Ordered
🔸️Bhatti Da Murg Tikka
🔸️Murg Malai Nazaqat
🔸Sikandari Dum Biriyani
Bhatti Da Murg Tikka ⤵️
It contained six pieces of boneless chicken pieces, which had a great flavor of Tikka. But the chicken pieces was overcooked as a result it tasted a burnt flavour. Thus, I talked with one if the staff and explained the problem he cooperated with me and change the dish immediately. And gave the same dish.
Murg Malai Nazaqat ⤵️
It also contained six pieces of boneless chicken pieces, which was tossed with a great flavor of malai, and the chicken pieces was perfectly cooked. It was lip smashing. I would personally recommend this dish to others.
Sikandari Dum Biriyani ⤵️
It contained a good amount of biryani rice, which is enough for two people to have their meal. It also contained a chicken leg piece. It tasted moderate but I must say if everyone is searching for a non oily food, you can try this. But the annoying part is that they don't serve potato with Biriyani.
Service ⤵️
Each and every staff was very friendly and cooperative. One of them helped us to select the starters. But the service was a bit delayed.
Recommended.
Tried Marco Polo for the first time and the experience was great. We ordered Betki a la meuniere, chelo kabab, chicken changezi and butter naan. A must try for all. Would love to visit again.
It's a nice place having dinner n lunch, great food quality and tasty as well..... specially chicken Malai kebab....I recommend this place ...good ambience.
Well Marco Polo doesnt need any special introduction, it is quite well known to Calcuttans. Being a first timer, the ambience is classy with minimal sober decor and their service shows its professionalism. Appetizers we ordered Classic caesar salad and Milanese Fried Chicken with Blue Lagoon mocktail and Johnny walker. Salad was fresh with light lettuce and the fried chicken was soft and delicious. The fry just felt perfect in mouth. Next came the Chelo Kebab which looked and tasted awesome. The kebabs just melted in mouth and its tenderness gave the right feeling. The poach was expected to be little flowing but it was a bit hard...Kakori kebab along with it landed it in totally different plane. We had a long time chatting and chewing, no disturbance was there. The lunch was complete with happy happy dessert, ice cream sandwich and chocolate brownie. Both of our sweet tooth was fulfilled.
Marco Polo Restaurant is a name that resonates with every food lover in Kolkata. They have been one of the earliest and best fine-dining restaurants in Kolkata. This is a review of their Southern Avenue branch.
Location - Very convenient. A minute-and-a-half's walking distance from Deshopriyo Park crossing.
Ambience and decor - Elegant, minimal and sophisticated. Marco Polo reminds you why you don't need to be extra fancy. Simplicity is always the refined man's taste.
Staff - Courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We asked for recommendation from one of them and he was bang on with his choice.
Food - So here are the dishes we had (excluding the beer) - Prawn cocktail (delightful experience, extremely flavourful), Milanese Fried Chicken (not a big fan. Was a bit bland to our liking), Bekti á la Meuniére (waiter recommended. Excellent dish. Definitely give this a try) and Lebanese Lamb Chops (succulent, flavourful, aromatic, well-cooked).
Overall - Though the prices may be slightly on the expensive side, Marco Polo deserves to be visited and respected.
The quality of food is truly magnificent. I would love to go back there and will recommend it to others as well. The ambience and service was top notch. But during lunch hours on a weekday it was kind of awkward as only the 4 of us were there.
I had heard about Marco Polo from many of my relatives and friends. Finally got an oppurtunity to visit this place.
Located near Deshapriya Park, this place was not at all difficult to trace.
I found the restaurant to be quite spacious and brightly lit with each table neatly arranged.
We were two and ordered Chelo Kebab, Bolognese Spaghetti and Tutti Frutti. All of which tasted amazing. As far as quantity is concerned, each plate is meant for a single person.
The staff was polite and delivered a prompt service.
Had a wonderful experience there. Recommended.
This has been a favourite dining place for my family and me. My father, who is very picky with his food, just loves this place and their service.
We have been dining here for the past 15 years !
Best veg dishes to try here-
Tomato Soup
Corn shimla and matar vegetable
Paneer lababdar
Kadhai paneer
Kali dal
Masala Kulcha
Garlic Naan..
Also their must try desserts-
Tutti fruity ice cream
Chocolate Mousse
Ambience-4.5/5
Food-4/5
Service-4/5
A must visit restaurant!
An elegant place with a fabulous environment, food and service. Visited them few days with family. Tried their spaghetti bolognese, grilled bhetki with lemon butter sauce. We also tried some mocktails. This has become one of my favourite place in Kolkata.

Nice aura. Unique menu. Tasty food. Aristocrat atmosphere. I liked being there. The continental food was really upto the mark. Specially, with the Tabasco sauce!
What do I say about this place. It’s like my second home now. We go here for many years mainly because of my dad. He loves this place more. Food, ambience, courtesy, quality and crowd, everything is really upscaled here. Specialities (in random order)- Pink Heaven (mocktail), fish in lemon butter sauce, prawn cocktail, prawn fry in garlic & chilli flakes, mutton biriyani, mutton kosha, chicken curry, aloo jeera, Veg Shikh kabab and caramel custard. A must go and I will visit again soon.
We went on a sunday afternoon for lunch so we reserved a table through zomato.. Not so spacious yet the ambiance was very soothing and cosy.. What I loved most is courteousness of the staff.. They helped us with the menu and was always keeping an eye on our needs!
What we ordered:
★Murg tikka dilmun: Succulent chicken kebabs in Arabic spices and comes with a tasty green chutni
★ Sorshey bhetki: four pieces of boneless bhetki fish in mustard gravy
★Mutton kosha: Authentic mutton kasha cooked in bengali style.. Comes in six huge pieces and less spicy..
★Plain white rice
Always had Indian Food here.. Good food and the service too is quite fast..The Black Dal and Parde wali naan are exceptionally good.. a must try.
One of the finest place to have North India Cuisine.Ambience and overall decor of this place is very classy. Each and every food item ordered tasted exceptionally well.
This place is like a treat for the soul ....❤️
Spent the 24th of December here, after office.
Ordered the Golden Crumb Fried Bhetki and Chelo Kebab. Also had a Rum based cocktail and Old Monk.
The fried Bhetki was quite good. Chelo kebab was also nice. Service is fast and staff are courteous. Overall a nice experience.
Recommended.
Finally the ling wait is over. Waited so long to be here but couldn’t make it for some reason. Existing food menu and also a vintage old school ambience. Steaks are so delicious and the prawns too. Nothing to complain about it. Delightful.
An excellent place for lunch or dinner. Beautiful ambience it has. Their grilled fish with lemon butter sauce is my all time favourite dish. The pardewali nan with mutton kosha was amazing.
Reviewing after my second visit.
My experience have been good. Have tried their chicken steak, pork chops, lamb chops, Milanese fried chicken, grilled fish, fettuccine maria, spaghetti bolognese, brownie with ice-cream and ice-cream sandwich till now.
I also love the ambience and it's quaint decor. Service is great but go with time in your hands.
Excellent place to have dinner, though the menu is like an encyclopaedia. Food is quite delicious and flavourful. Though I prefer the continental dishes over the Indian selection. Service is quite prompt, place has a rather colonial charm
It's a little pricey, but for a dine-out with family, I would totally recommend it. It's usually never too crowded. Both food and ambience are worth mentioning.
Went there for my birthday lunch. Overall good experience accompanied by good food and friendly staff. Ordered Long island iced tea with Golden crumb fried bhetki and Milanese fried Chicken. The star of our lunch was Sikandari Dum Biriyani. It wasn't too spicy so it really suited my taste buds. For dessert we ordered Sahi Tukda .For me it was average for I had better from other dine outs.
Very much friendly atmosphere. Food was too good. I was already visit park street marcopolo but 1st time visit southern avenue marcopolo. Thanks to cooperate and again we will be there.
Fine dining with a great ambience, and the quality food as well.. Experienced a great classy time during puja astami night.. Staffs and over all system is very good and well maintained..
Today I visited this restaurant for the first time. Although this one is in my bookmark for few months I wasn't able to go there. It's mainly a continental restaurant but as it is Ashtami today so we get buffet here.
There were lots of items and we are really confused what to have and what not. But a staff there helped us in choosing, and should say a very nice and friendly staffs out there. I personally really very much satisfied with their services.
And now coming to the foods and interior design both are great clean and quality of the foods were really fantastic. I am really happy with the service, food and very thing.
But still I need to have another visit for the special continental foods.
This is one of the best places in the city! Their North Indian dishes as well as continental is love! We had the famous grilled fish which is just sheer love ❤️ and their Murgh Biryani is SO UNDERRATED. It's better than many other overrated places. Love it. ❤️ Also, their Caramel Custard was so so good.
All the foods made me spell bound. The authenticity of the taste are comming out of the foods. The baked hilsa abd the baked bhetki played a masterstroke here. The starters as well as the main course are really too good.
the staffs are really cozy. The ambience was very calm n quiet.
The ambience is perfect if you want to chill with your buddies and family members. Decor superb as well. A must visit place for all foodies.

What I found catchy about this place is its very calm and quiet and ideal if you want to spend some quality time with your loved one.I went with my fiancé on her birthday and she really liked the place!Staff and food both were delightful! Would like to visit it again!Do visit! 💯
The ambience is soothing and comfortable. You can enjoy a Sunday afternoon there with your family. The staffs's behaviour is friendly. But the price of the food items is really high compared to the quantity they serve. If you expect that you will get a handsome amount of food after seeing the price, then you might be dissapointed. We ordered Grilled Bhetki, Lamb Chops, Sunset Point and Ice Cream Sandwich. But the food quality is great. I would recommend to try their desserts - they are really delicious.
Marco Polo
Wonderful, scrumptious, delicious that's how it tastes here ... Do visit this place to have Biryani, Mahi motiya, Spinach American corn and many more.. You will enjoy the ambience as well as the taste of all the other items veg or non-veg. Do make a visit if ur around ..
Nothng so say much about this restro as we all know its quality, standard, class and this outlet fullfill all the criteias also. Deserts imprssd me the most here. Tuti fruti was awsm and wallnut brownie is the best
We have tried Murg Kali Mirch and Sikandari Dum Biriyani.. Both were ❤️❤️ specially the biriyani..We will get back soon to explore more. Gesture was perfect as expected..( my husband says that no biriyani can achieve the same perfection like yours..)
Marco Polo easily sits on my top list as my favorite restaurant of all time. I just love going to the Marco Polo (Park Street) and it never disappoints me. The outlet at the Southern Avenue is not as great as the Park Street, but it isn't a let down either.
Specialty - Continental - Do try continental here, it's quite good.
Ambiance - it gives a fine dine kind of vibe. The place is not very large but overall this place is great for family or a friends get together.
Service - The service here is above average
Food - We ordered -
1) Murg Changezi - This was fantastic.
2) Lebanese Lamb Chops - Good
3) Malai Kofta - Bad, try and avoid vegetarian here. If you are looking for veggies here, there are high changes u might be dissapointed.
4) Murg Tikka Makhanwala - An all time favorite, needs no explanation
A let down - It doesn't serve Chinese whereas the Park Street Outlet does.
Follow Calcutta_tales on Instagram for more.
Crumed golden prawn was awesome, after creame of mushroom its really a mouth melting taste after a long time....... its totaly a different prawn dish which touched my heart
Not my first time at Marco Polo.
We ordered baked fish, Caesar salad, methi paratha and chana masala.
The fish was baked to perfection and was sumptuously surrounded by cream and veggies.
The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. Ample amount of chicken pieces provided.
The methi paratha has the right blend of methi. The chana masala was delicious too.
Highly recommended.
I love this place when it comes to Indian cuisine .. Foods are great .. N the choco mousse is delicious enough , and definately not to be shared !! 👻 Staffs are good , service is prompt !!! Overall this place is definitely a good place for family dinner !!! 😇
Went there for lunch. Absolute blissful experience. The decor n ambience is nice
Food items were tasty. Tried kulcha, dal and pasta. Would love to come back
I picked Marco Polo for a birthday lunch for my friends.
We were a group of 7 people so I had made a prior reservation through zomato.
The food was great from starters to main course. The quantity was wholesome and pricing was pocket friendly. The drinks were also soothing.
The ambience is beautiful with a touch of subtle music in the background perfect for a get together or a date.
The staff is courteous.
For treating your friends and family members Marco Polo is highly recommendable.
The perfect classy date place or family lunch place of our city. The peaceful ambience, the wine, the 100 out of 100 food, this place continues to be a constant favourite.
Food is good. We went on Poila Baisakh. We ordered kosha mangsho, cumin pulao, spaghetti alla carbonara. The taste of the kosha mangsho was authentic and the spaghetti alla carbonara was out of the world. Great experience. Looking forward to next visit
It was my first visit to one of the old restaurants in the southern avenue ! Well we ordered chello kabab along with a baked fish dish..well I will say it was not my best chello kabab..it was just okayish..and the fish was delicious..overall nice experience..but one time visit place!
The only great thing about the place is the variety of food and the plethora of taste at this outlet. The place is cramped and do not seat a lot of people but the service is amicable. The cost is also on the higher side.
Ambience - elegant and sophisticated.
Quality - wow! Especially continental. I had pasta which was mouth watering and yummy.
Quantity - good but should improve a bit.
Price - a bit high but justifies the quality.
Service - nice.
Try out the continental here, you will just love it.

Had come over this place quite few number of times for parties and get togethers in the hall room upstairs . Beware the stairs are narrow and high rised. Situated at a very convenient location which you can spot immediately from the busy road , it has both Al a carte dine in and hall for celebrations as well . The interior has subtle and classy appeal with both cozy sofas as well comfortable chairs with round tables . We were approximately 8 people and visited without any prior reservation done but luckily we managed to get immediate arrangements done on a busy Sunday evening . We started off with prawn cocktail , then proceeded for murgh tikka dilmun . For cocktails , we had fresh lime soda and blue lagoons' . The serving was quick and efficient . They hardly took 15 minutes to serve our dinner after the order was served . When maximum ordered for chelo kabab , I ordered for crevette à la Newburg and the rest went for naan and chicken kalimirch . We didn't order for any dessert since we had our cake for celebrating my cousin's anniversary . All overall a good experience and an amazing evening with loved ones. Last and not the least , the washrooms were speck and span clean .
A beautiful place. First impression gives u a feeling of royalty. We ordered standard North Indian cuisine of Butter Chicken n Butter Naan. A very simple dish to order for a restaurant of such standard. But we didn't want to experiment. And that's where Marco Polo showed it's class by delivering a simple dish with elegance.
Last week I visited this place and it came up with yummilacious delight,no doubt in that. For starters,we ordered
●Ajwaini Mahi Tikka
●Grilled Bekti
The fish tikka was good and tender but the grilled bekti is a must try for all foodies out there. It is a charcoal grilled bekti served with lemon butter sauce separately.A large piece of Kolkata bekti will snatch your mind in few minutes,I guarantee you that.
Coming to the main course
● Pardewaali naan
●Kalimirch Murg
●kosha mangsho
I NEVER HAD SUCH NAAN IN MY LIFE. The thin 3 layered naan goes best with kosha mangsho, that was good too.The murg dish was cooked with black pepper and it was slight rich. The pieces of mutton were solid and juicy, giving you a the taste of proper bengali cuisine.
And the dessert
●Ice cream Sandwich
Served with caramel and chocolate sauce delicious.
The ambience and interior was quite soothing. The staffs were very well-behaved and informative.
Thank you MARCO POLO.
It's been quite a few weeks I visited this place with my Mom and Dad and we had a really great time. We ordered Murg Malai Nazaqat, Sikandari Dum Biryani, Murg Tikka Makhanwala and Chicken Stroganoff. All the dishes tasted great and was cooked to perfection. I liked the Chicken Stroganoff the most although the other dishes were equally good. However, the quantity needs to be bettered and for that few might it feel it to be a little more expensive. But certainly the taste somewhat makes up for it.
The ambience was expectedly really nice and the got a nice reception throughout our entire stay. So, a must visit place, and I would like to visit the Park Street outlet (haven't been here somehow) next time when I'm in the city.
Marco Polo is one of the well known and best family diners of Kolkata.
The staff is friendly, attentive and the place is warm. The food is delicious,no doubt in it.
The atmosphere there makes it best for spending the time with your family and friends.
For straters we ordered:
Grilled betki
Gwalati kebab
Veg seekh kebab
Bursheta
Paneer Tikka
Their virgin mojito in mocktails is the best.
Their chicken biryani for main course is a must try.
For deserts one must try their speciality - Icecream sandwich.
We went with our family for d first time..Awesome food.... specially Sikandari Dum Biriyani was beyond good....hope to visit again soon.... :-)
It is one of the old restaurants in southern avenue with excellent food. The services is quick and that's possible because of their effecient & courteous staff.
They've a banquet too here and the quality of food and services remains same as the one you would find in the resturant.
This is one of my personal favorite restaurant serving quality food that will surely enhance your tatsebuds.
My personal favorite is Cream of Mushroom , Vegetable Au-Gratin , Malai Kofta & Paneer Butter Masala.
One can always try out this place for lunch or dinner.
The ambience is lovely and the staff courteous. The penne al pesto was quite well cooked and the lamb chops were scrumptious, but my favorite here is the murg tikka kebab. It was worth the price. Overall, a lovely experience.
Most of the food items here are too delicious, especially their kebabs. My favourites are stuffed chicken breast, grilled pork, kebabs and Biryani. The price is reasonable and the service is extremely good. The staff is very attentive.
An amazing ambience with sumptuous food. I am so glad my parents keep going for dinners here and I tag along thus.
Jokes apart, the Hyderabadi Ghosht Biryani with Pineapple juice by the side is heaven.
Ordered Grilled pork chop, Jumbo prawn thermidor and Sikandari dum Biryani....
Ordered beer also...
Pork chop is okay.
Jumbo prawn and Sikandari Dum Biryani is la jawab...
Only beer available is Tuborg which is not expected from Marco Polo..
Eventually ordered creme caramel and it's good..
Ambience is good
Staffs are sometimes not attentive.
It is one of my favorite place to have a fine diner. Whenever I go I try to order the golder crumb fried bekti which is actually a fried fish served with tarter sauce. I also love their pastas.
Location was good. Starter and dessert was very good. But main course was so so. We ordered for chicken steak for main course, it was not soft as expected.
We loved the walnut brownie with ice cream.
Staff's behaviour was also very good.
We had a great experience. The food was excellent and the ambience was quite nice. Will love to visit again.
Located close to the crossing of Sarat Bose Road - Southern Avenue, just beside Barista.
Went there around 3:30pm, and it was mostly empty, the stairs are very steep - difficult for elderly persons. Staff behaviour is very good and service was fast.
We had ordered roasted chilli pork, lat mat kei, fish and chips, chicken stroganoff, chicken steak, chicken Cantonese noodles and lamb in hunan sauce - liked the continental items and the starters more than the chinese.
Great ambience, food tastes good enough for the price. The menu could be more diverse. Service is a bit slow but manageable if you have the patience. Overall a good place to go for lunch or dinner 👍
Prawn thermidor. And laccha Paratha with murg chenghezi. Also had choco brownie with vanilla ice cream. Food was good. Recommend to try especially the seafood and grill section which will be an unique experience. Regular north Indian and Chinese options are in plenty aswell.
Good ambience with good quality food. Went their to attain a birthday party. Very nice decorations and lighting arrangement. One thing is a problem is that they don't have elevator and climbing stairs is very difficult for the elderly persons. Overall experience good.
One of the best restaurants in South Kolkata in terms of food experience and service. This outlet of Marco Polo serves Indian dishes till 3.30pm after that only Chinese dishes are available. Prices are on the higher side but the food is worth every penny. A must visit for each and every foodie out there.
Tried the fish ajwain kebab and crème caramel. The kebab was very soft and delicious. The dessert was quite tasty.
Went there for a Sunday lunch with the family. Good, quiet ambience. Service was good albeit a little slow, especially with the cocktails. Food was generally good but there were a few that didn't quite feel up to the mark such as the Chicken Steak, the Konjee Crispy Lamb and the cocktails. They weren't bad per se, but for such a famous restaurant they could have been better. On the other hand, their Lobster Thermidore, Pan fried Chilli Betki, Drums of Heaven, Mutton Kebab and Darsan with Vanilla ice-cream were excellent. All in all, it's a 3.5/5 for me.
Personal All time favourite chinese food dine in.
Awesome food quality and taste at a reasonable price.
My all time favourite. Behaviour is very nice. We had our forever favourite baked bhekti. Both the kebabs in the chelo kebab were just mind-blowing. They were just melting after going in the mouth. Next was the parda naan was outstanding. The galawat ke boti was soft and juicy. The fish in the mahi motia was out of the world. The tuttu fruity was as usual..overall experience is awesome as usual.
Great classy restaurant with definitely the royal vibes. We visited during the puja time. The wait time was very little and the Chinese here is a must try. The Tom Yum Soup is highly recommended from my end we also took the Chelo Kebab. Good place to spend some time with friends and family.
One thing the Marco Polo restaurant on Sarat Bose has not done over time is change...and I wanted to thank them for this. I visited this restaurant after over a decade and it gave me the same feel that its a bit exclusive. There are no themes, no peppy music playing, no selfie zone. It reminded me of times when restaurants just focussed on service and food. I found the staff really professional, the chicken poivrade steak is a must try..you will love the flavour of pepper and mushroom, celery, carrots that have gone into it. They now have 10% service charge already added to your bill and we were informed about it as we sat which is very professional. This place is meant for your family, friends you want to converse with may be keeping your phone on silent! You will get a choice of Indian, Chinese, Continental fare. I would want to suggest the smoked chicken in barbeque sauce. Meal for two was around INR1800 consisting of two starters and two main course. Portions are sufficient for 1 person. The whole ambience is a bit serious..a heads up on that!!!
It has a no-nonsense ambience which would be liked by anyone. There is no doubt about the food quality whereas quantity might be taken care of. Service staff are very courteous. Overall a big thumbs up for this continental dining place.
An absolutely amazing place to dine at. The food here is commendable though it ain't something that will make you remember this place forever. However the decor is something that you will remember for the years to come. We tried a couple of their flagship chicken and fish dishes and it was smooth and lovely. The service is quite under staffed and a little lethargic. Pricing of the food is moderately high. The standards of the food as of today is appreciable. The choice of music though is horrible and doesn't suit the decor and the ambience as well. In all if you r looking for some fine dining restaurant near southern avenue I would recommend this place.
P.S. if u r going there for an Indian meal during lunch time u should note that the Indian kitchen closes at 03:30pm and they don't take any orders after that. Besides this u got nothing to worry about.
Bon apetit!
Good location.
Quality & Taste of Food is mouth watering.
Customer Care Department is very prompt & helpful.
Restaurant Personnel are simply marvelous towards their attitude & their cordial behavior
touches the emotion and heart of myself and my family in such a way that we will visit this Restaurant again and again.
Atmosphere is superb.
We had a small family gathering of about 30 person for which we had taken the banquet on the first floor.
The ambience was perfect. They even had a music system.
The starters (2 non veg & 2 veg) were very good and so were the main course (2 nonveg & 3 veg items) & dessert.
Hospitality & service staff were very good.
Overall very happy with the arrangements they made.
We ordered the golden fried prawn, prawns tossed in balsamic. Both were really good. Fresh and very tasty. Had the mojito, which was mixed well. Had a kebab dish was decent. Had the lamb spaghetti bolognese and walnut Brownie served with chocolate sauce and vanila ice cream - both were good. Price is not extravagant but definitely not cheap. Worth it. Had a good time. Staff is very decent and attending. Would definitely recommend.
Tell me one more watering hole in Kolkata which can compete it provided one has a taste for tequila, martini, metropolitan, screw driver. The price is much less as compared to the Park street ones. To add to it the kebab, nun and the kadai chicken was superb. It just melts in your mouth. The staff was courteous and the interior decor is that of a medieval British restaurants
