A small outlet but with great food , they are the best in town when it comes to south indian food. You must try the cheese masala dosa.
We ordered a cheese masala dosa and a paper dosa. The cheese dosa was like the regular masala dosa but with cheese. It tasted good
It drives me crazy, just mind blowing mouth watering food & I love it, foods r just outstanding n taste & out of the world & besties of.....
We always take a takeaway from this place and it never fails to disappoint you. Love everything from thr idly to dosas to vada. Always love to keep ordering food from this cafe
Dont judge the place by the interiors...

If you just go by the interiors and infrastructure and rate the restaurant then that won't be fair. This small restaurant located at bhawanipore, is great under quick bites . Famous for it's South Indian food , it really has no comparison on the quality of the food that they serve. Very much authentic and hygienic. The place is well known for takeaways and every dish is more than four stars. The chutney and sambhar , what they serve is extra ordinary. And the idlis are big and too soft at the same time. Pocket friendly and one of the best places for a South Indian foodie.
Anuradha Café is a tiny café serving south Indian food. The menu has items which are ordered regularly from idlis to Dosas etc.I had masala dosa which was tasty and large in size.I would like to mention especially for their coconut chutney which was thick and lipsmacking. The place is small and can accommodate max 2-3 persons at one time.Prices are reasonable
P.S. â I felt like as it itâs a office cum cafĂ©.One has to stand and eat.
Delicious authentic South India delicacy.cheese masala dosa is extremely delicious.idlis were fresh.sambhar and white chutney make the dishes extra tasty
Located near ray street. Amazing food. Simple and delicious.
Value for money . Best south indian food joint in the area.
Best for take aways
One of the best in Bhawanipur area for awesome South India food. Quantity absolutely matches with prices offered and no compromise on quality.
If u want to have good south indian food then come to this place.... not for dine in but for take away or you can ask for delivery .... few seat are there but not comfortable ... sambar is too good
A tiny restaurant beside the induction, near the children's Park in Bhawanipur. This place is specialized in their South Indian food. I had ordered a masala cheese dosa and a plate of idli. Never had such an amazing dosa. Idli was soft too. The coconut chutney is the cherry on the cake. Very pocket friendly. Do not expect good ambience from it. A must visit for the South Indian lovers!
Do not expect an ambience for this tiny restaurant. They are experts when it comes to South Indian food. Class apart. I have never had such soft and delicious Idly ever.Be it Dosa or uttapam everything is just so good. Have eaten in this joint several times and would keep going here .
This place may not look like its a hidden gem in bhawanipore. But it is a very well known resto or a outlet for south indian dishes. Dosas they make are a foodie's delight and deserve clap for maitaining the standard of its dishes. I love cheese masala dosa and idlis here. The coconut chutney they make us the best i had at kolkata. But the problem with this place is that it stays closed most of the time, reasons unknown. And also the rush is so much here. But overall a nice joint for refreshmnt.

I had an amazing South Indian breakfast here this morning. This one has been an all time favourite place for takeaway but I remember not using the seating because of limited capacity they have.
We used the car service today and it was a really nice and steamy hot breakfast in this beautiful rainy morning.
Coming to USP of this place, it has to be the idlis. They serve massive sized ones, fluffy soft and just perfect. I think their idli is the biggest in Kolkata keeping in mind most other eateries. For me personally finishing a full plate as in two pieces became quite a task towards the end.
The coconut chutney served is really nice and thick. It is topped with urad dal, mustard seeds and curry leaves which have been tempered in oil with a hint of red chilli powder.
The sambhar was not as good today as it usually is. I love the sambhar from
here. Today something was slightly amiss though.
The vadas here are good too. Today I had no space left for them after the idlis though.
I am a fan of their Masala dosas , specially the Masala. The dosa size is just perfect. And they make it perfectly as per instructions.
The idlis here are must try. This place has a huge fan following and regular customers so food here runs out of stock very fast.
The prices are totally pocket friendly. The staff is pleasant and attentive. They keep filling up the chutney and sambhar bowls.
The menu is quite limited in terms of variety but in terms of taste this place ranks amongst my top 5 south Indian favourites in Kolkata.
Good food, small outlet and very friendly on pocket.
You must try out the dosa's out here.Â
Recommended for takeaway's coz usually you would find rush during evenings.
A very small place near Chakraberia. It serves excellent South Indian food. It is not hi-fi, swanky place but a very simple and small joint. Their butter masala dosa and idli are really great.
Very good Idlis they make, but you can't enjoy it if u have it there, as its not a restaurant kind of a place. It's best if u take it away and enjoy it at home. Their Chutney is really good.
Good south indian food but mainly for take away service... nt. A great place to dine in ..but very good choice for take away wid aunthentic flavour of south India..
A very good south indian option for people in bhowanipore area. Their idlis are big and really melt in the mouth kinds. They have maintained their quality and taste over the years. Highly recommended.
Excellent south Indian food in bhowanipore.... Quantity taste and quality very good.... Only problem is they need to change the outlook..... And please stop closing at 7 PM on Sundays.... Those who have not tried please try out once....
Went out for lunch with my office colleagues at this place. Seeing the place i did not feel good, but as soon as the Dosa arrived, the aroma mesmerized me. We ordered a Cheese Dosa and Idli. They were amazing. Not pricey enough. Great place for people having a taste for Southy food.
Their larger-than-your-face idlis are really good and soft. Fresh produce, with an occasional miss, dosa's are their specialty. Weekends is usually a rush affair, whether its dine-in or take away. Overall recommended.
Location: In the lane opposite Food Kraft; Near Sharma Sweet/Goli Vada Pav; In the lane where Sri Sri Laxmi Narayan Maternity Home & Hospital is located.
Have been procrastinating on penning down this review due to work pressure; was visited on April 4, 2015 around 18:00 hours.
The much awaited Anuradha Cafe was finally and successfully visited in the evening after several failed attempts (always visited it during the afternoon but, is closed from 14:00-17:00 hours daily: as informed by the staff) along with a friend.
It's a small 20 year old eatery (sister concern of Deeya Baati) serving tasty South Indian fare. The seating arrangements were high stools to the wall-side tables along with a couple of low ones for the aged.
The laminated menu has a decent fare-spread of which the following was ordered:
- Masala Dosa
The Dosa was big in size and definitely one would be enough for a medium sized appetite. The masala was flavorful and well-seasoned.
Recommended.
- Butter Masala Fry Dosa
Same in size as the Masala dosa, just that the masala was butter-fried and served as a side to a Plain Dosa. The fry was decent to taste as it needed a slightly higher seasoning.
âą The Coconut chutney was delicious and the chaunk on top added as a plus.
âą The Sambhar was just about decent, was slightly of a watery consistency. Could be taken care of.
The staff was polite and friendly who served at a moderate speed.
The prices are pretty reasonable considering the quantity/size of the offering.
Overall a decent experience.
Its the best preferably south Indian food place for Bhawanipur residing people.. This old place no matter how pathetic the walls or seating maybe is the all time favourite for morning breakfast! Though the home delivery is sometimes not available but when its available you get it right on time with the food still hot.. †If you really don't care about the place environment and prefer to be satisfied by the delicious south Indian food then you should 100% try this place :D And trust me you'll never regret it ;)
The place is located near bhawanipur college and chakraberia crossing... Ask anyone about anuradha and they will guide you...   Its a small eatery with couple of stools and a small space to keep your plates but the food here makes up for it.  The idlis they serve here are big served hot and delicious. Their chutney is also pure and thick. Sambhar is really tasty. Their dosa is not as good as their Uthapam since i didnt like their dosa so much compared to Uthapam...  If you are going on sunday, no dine in is available only take away... Also, no home delivery service by them...Â
Food is at quiet reasonable.. Haven't tried their take away service...,
It has the ultimate south Indian delicacies. Short waiting time. This is the best place for takeaways! It has the best masala dosas of this town.
Its a small resturant. Located near chakerberia crossing.
They serve only south indian food. Really tasty idlis!! And they are quiet big and filling. Must have is their mixed uttapam. Sambhar is really tasty!
If you are going on sunday, no dine in is available only take away.
Food is at quiet reasonable and affordable cost.
Parking space iis available
Discovered this place one day..was vry near to ma pg..
Must say..awsum dosa n idli..m not much of a idli fan..bt d dosa was perfctly made..
Thin as paper..d masala was spicy, d sambhar was olso vry gud.. not a vry common place i guess..doesnt look vry hygenic..bt for such a dosa, I wudnt mind..Sadly No Home Delivery.
Dunno abt d odr items..havnt tried anything else.
This South Indian food joint is located near my office and visiting this place during lunch time was a regular thing for many of us. It's a very small place but the staffs are friendly and well behaved. However, the sitting arrangement is quite uncomfortable as all you have here is those old bar stools to seat on. Most of the time this place remains closed which I can't figure out why. Maybe they don't need to make profits.
Okay, Now comes the best part and it's of course the food they serve. I had no idea that South Indian food can taste so great (I've had them at plenty of places and most of them were pretty average). Personally I love the Cheese Masala Dosa and Mix Uttapam they make here. If you don't mind having onion, then you should try the Onion Uttapam too. They cover up their negative sides with the food they offer.
I had not set foot in this tiny outlet on Justice Chandra Madhab Rd (near the Ray St corner) for quite some time as I would always find it closed. Finally found it open today when a colleague and I walked in during lunchtime.
The place is tiny, with uncomfortable seating and none too clean. But they make up for it by their food. We started with a plate of idlis. Two very large ones (over 5 inches dia) with nice sambhar and a good chutney. The idlis were hot and really soft. We also asked for dosa... these came in a little later. Very large (I found it a tad too much) with the potato on the side (they had fried it separately) I had asked for a butter dosa, but not sure if it make a difference. Nicely made though. Two masala dosas (one with butter) and a plate of idlis set us back by about Rs 165.
I wanted vadas but was advised against it by the person at the store as they were not hot.
Please give it a try.
excellent food..!! nd nice service..
I have tried it's masala dosa only n it's heavenđ„ș the taste is good, the price is awesome according to the quantity and the people there are very friendlyđ......the space inside may seem small.....I have also tried it's idli which is also delicious but mayb m a dosa fan so I only clicked pics of dosađ
đ€Ł as the dosa was way bigger than my arm so I guess I was too excitedđ€
Awesome authentic South Indian cuisine!!! I had sada dosa with Sambhar and chutney,.. Tooooo good.. Sambhar is SHAANDAR... Although it seems to be an old restaurant (lookwise) but the taste is simply superb!! Address :47 Justice Chandra Madhab Road, Kolkata..Must visit if you are near Bhawanipore area..Thank you Bahetyji (The owner)đ..
Anuradha Cafe in Bhowanipur is a hidden gem for dosa lovers! The dosas here are absolutely delightful â perfectly crispy on the outside and wonderfully flavorful on the inside.
If you're a dosa enthusiast, this place is a must-visit!
The service here is top notch . We were never required to ask for Sambaar and chutney refill , the waiters kept refilling time to time. We ordered one idli (Rs.80 for a plate), and Masala dosa (Rs.90) . The idlis were very fresh and soft and I loved the taste. The dosa was crisp as requested by me however the Masala was a little bland for my palette.
Feel free to request for Jain Sambaar (Without onion and garlic)
This is a small Non AC resturant so I would recommend take away or delivery if ambience and comfort is your priority.
The pricing is slightly on the higher side but the quality and service justifies it to some extent. However the likes of Jyoti Vihar-Ramakrishna fit all the bills.
This establishment owned by the same group which owns deeya Baati as well.
Been a regular for years now. Idly served is the best here. Nice outlet for South Indian food.
Love for South Indian Food. Best place in Landsdowne area for Dosa and Idli. Vada is also good. But this place is my favourite and delicious Mysore dosa in Kolkata. Very limited seating. Only Take away on Sunday. Varieties of dosa and uttapam available. Must Try Butter Masala Dosa. Sambhar is very tasty here. Varieties of Chutney available.
This place is very small, but the food speaks volume. Itâs plain & simple. Masala dosa was excellent, unlimited sambhar & chutney.
Dont judge the place by the interiors...
The place is located in Bhawanipur near the induction..
The staffs are well behaved and i agree that the place is small..
Mainly takeways are done from here..
The place serves really tasty south indian..
We had masala dosa which was really good..
The idly and the vada is also good..
Really great South Indian food! One of my favourites!
Excellent authentic south Indian dishes since 27 years
Tasty and authentic South Indian food. You also get ldli and dosa mix over here.
It is the best place to have south Indian breakfast, if you are taking away. Food quality and quantity is totally value for money. It is actually better than many fancy south Indian joints in Kolkata
This place in Chakraberia Road North would go unnoticed to most as it's very basic eatery with no decoration. Love the paper masala dosa which very crispy with lovely subtle spiced potato masala stuffing. Best thing about this dosa is it has seasonal vegetables in the masala stuffing which makes it different and delicious. The sambhar has a distinct authentic south Indian taste same goes for white chutney. They give good amount of chutney and sambhar more than a person can eat.
Do visit this hidden place if you love veg south india food.
Very tasty South Indian food is served here. The menu is limited to South Indian items only.
This place is very old and people love it.
They do not have Swiggy or Zomato for delivery though.
You can park your car outside on the road and have a good breakfast here. Prices are reasonable too. No AC just in case youâre searching for some more information.
The best for south Indian food. . Same taste. Same quality . Since my school days.been 10 years and they have maintained it through out this whole time...
Its a local but superb South Indian restaurant that survive delicious food.
The taste and quality of the food was top class. The prices are a bit on the higher side but they don't hurt the pocket because of the food quality. Dine-in services available only from Mon-Sat. Sunday only takeaways.
All time favourite, the taste cannot be matched up by other restaurants ,having there since ages.... Best dosa, idli ever...
Cheese paper masala dosa
Fabulous taste đ
