The Goria Sholoana Bangali is a great place to dine. The cozy ambiance really good for family time. The veg thali and fish dishes are so delicious. Specially the jhuri aloo bhaja, posto, sukto, chutney of a huge variety. The fish delicacies are overwhelming like the bhetki maacher paturi. Do visit the place. Good for take away too.

If you want to a have good bengali food then sholoana Bangali is the right place for you. The staff is very humble and the ambience is just love.
Talking about the food we ordered bhetki fry for our starters it was not basa it was bhetki itself and was very tasty.
For main course we ordered plain rice which was basmati , mutton kosha which was rich in flavours, plain dal , aloo posto was creamy so does the shukto too.
All together I love their food.
Will highly recommend you guys to try this Bengali restuarant 😊.

Nice place to try out some authentic bengali cuisine. Tasty food... though the ambience could be a bit better. I had the sound of two waiters quarelling in the kitchen rather than some soothing music.

Whenever I visit Calcutta
A visit to this restaurant is must.
Good ambiance and good hospitality adds more flavour to the food they serve.
Being a fish lover my suggestion will be to try Aar Kaalia
Pabda Sorse; Bhetki Paturi and Chingri Malaikari. The Holde polao is fantastic and last not the least their Shukto is mind blowing. Though the list is endless 😊

Not bad for pure bengali meals. Just one minute away from the 45 bus stand toward patuli thana. Once tried their jumbo sized hot chital petie . Tasted amazing. Step by step I have tasted their most of the varieties from the menu and most of them tasted good. One can try polao and chicken kosha. However the mutton preparations especially mutton pieces didn't attract me because of quality. Among fishes big sized Rui/Katla peties of good quality were available.

Generally I and my husband prefer to have bengali food during durga puja so went for this once.We took the thali and each dish was perfect but a special mention should be made about the illish which was fresh and well cooked with mustard.Improvement can be made in the portions they serve otherwise it is worth a try.

Visited the place for the first time after they shifted from to this new place. The decor of the previous outlet was better than this one. Tried fish fry, Basanti polao, dab chingri, chk dak Banglo, Gur er ice-cream and chatni. Liked the fish fry, other dishes are not impressive. Overall its good.

Pujo is incomplete without Bangali bhuribhoj and we chose this place to serve the purpose on Navami.
I must say management did their job quite well n quick to maintain the peace among foodies in the queue.👍
But I wish our wait was more worthy.
The place doesn't seem to connect with the essence of Bangaliana except a huge frame of luchi polao platter on the wall.
Rest seems bland when it comes to the ambiance.
Well coming to the food now, they serve only two options of veg/non veg during the Pujas. This leaves the customers with no choice of satisfying their hunger pangs with other varieties.
Veg platter was good undoubtedly that consists of bhaat, polao, alu bhaja, dal, paneer karaishuti, potol dorma.
I loved their Potol dorma the most! 👌Price is bit high if we compare the quality of food with it.(INR 450/-)

Non veg platter is satisfying (INR 750/-) including bhaat, polao, chingri torkari, alubhaja, dal,Ilish and Kosha mutton.
Ilish machh was excellent n fresh but not the jhol. Could have been better I surmise. :)
Mutton was soft and cooked so well. Loved it!😍

P.S. you charge so much for the food yet you couldn't provide water to the customers making it compulsory for them to buy it with a surge amount, of course.

The restaurant upholds the essence of Kolkata and here we do not even get water for free inspite of paying more than INR 1500 for the respective Thalis.
Thank you. :)

We had our dinner today at this place. It was a full nostalgia for me to have these Bengali dishes. We started with fish fry and then plain rice, sabji dal, Alu bhaja, mutton dakbanglow, chatni and Misti doi. Mutton was well prepared. But I felt the fish fry was undercooked.

Bong Family Lunch...Scanned menu and ordered Steamed Rice...Narkel diye Mug Dal...Papda Sorse...Mutton Jhol...Alu Bhaja...Nulen Gurer Rosogulla...Once order arrived...All Heads Down...Delicious & Finger licking..Papda was outstading...Mutton gravy was awesome but the chops were all bone less meat..Stingy on their part..Overall preparation was classy...
Just one suggestion..In current scenario u should always ask for payment option before order is placed to avoid inconvenience to customers. In my case after savouring meal I was informed card system is not working...luckily I had enough cash else would have ...forget it...

The place is on the Patuli Bypass connector near BWS hospital. A small and homely place with a cosy atmosphere. The place and ambience is quite good. The food is very similar to all the other outlet this awesome place has.

One thing that was a Let down was the unavailability of any of the cutlets in the lunch time.
The food is good and the staff and ambience friendly and nice.

Small place... Scarcity of room...
We ordered for : plain rice, Jhingey-posto, Bhetki Paaturi, Aam doi & Nilwn gurer ice cream.

The posto cost 130 bucks.. Can we imagine !

N moreover many of the dishes in the menu were not available... We asked for Topshey fry .. Daber payeah ... n we had to accept the 'No' ...

Best bengali food rather i would say best authentic bengali food anywhere in Garia area.
Located just on the by-pass (patuli). Parking is available. Sitting arrangements are quite nice. My family loved the food over here.. If u are a bong, this place is a must try for you
Foods that you must try:
Bhetki Bhapa- a very famous bengali cuisine. For all the non bengalies, it is a simple steamed bhetki fish. You should try this one out here. The made it really good.
Dab Chingri- The made it mind blowing.
Doi Chicken- Its a simple curd marinated chicken. Its finger lincking good. Best to try it with pulao or simple rice. Roti is optional if you are not a rice lover.
Lau Chingri- It is a sabji best tried with roti. My mother loved it. Less spicy, little sweet. Its a must try.
Coming to the bengali desserts:
Daber payesh- Never heard of it anywhere, so tried it here. Its quite good.
Aam Doi- I guess its seasonal, better ask it before you make up your mind to have it. Its just awesome. Its surely better than any belgian choclates and ice creams for a bengali.
Overall had an awesome bhuri bhoj ;)

So not so long ago my wife and mom said no cooking but we were in no mood to go out or order Chinese or order Biriyani. So I searched Zomato for bengali deliverable food near Garia and stumbled upon Sholoana. I ordered tel koi, chingri paturi, narkel diye mug daal. Ordering rice is against the rule of the women in the house as they believe it is waste if money.
The food delivered as per my expectations. One good thing about me, I believe, is, I expect according to the restaurant and hence is seldom disappointed. The review should always be whether its worth the money you are paying. My bill was around 800 and it was sumptuous.
But dear Sholoana you got to do something to keep those beguni a little hot and not turning into like wet newspapers.
Recommended.

Best place to try out Bengali food,

1) quality-4/5 well made

2)quantity-3/5 (dishes are costly)

3) Service-4/5 (efficient and effective )

4)Value for money-3/5
Since as a Bengali most of the food I have tried previously at home the cost of the dishes seemed high to me.

Also the few only places that I found nolen gurer er ice cream .
Cons
---------

The only drawback that I found was the ambience , the place is small , I felt they have over done the decoration . Though the decorations are apt with the theme the small place gave it a stuffy feeling .

I would highly recommend this to people wanting to try Bengali cuisines.

Normally, It makes quite a good impression. Delicious bengali recipes. Nice variety of flavors. Elish curry is highly recommended. Lack of space is a turn off.
Although try to avoid it during puja season. They go quite overboard with thaali approach which can cost plenty.

i came here with my wife. Sholoana Bangali is a typical Bengali restaurant, serving every item which is prepared regularly in a traditional Bengali family. We entered there at late lunch time, around 3.15PM. The ambience was good, nothing amazing but well organized and in every element, there is a reflection of Bengali tradition. We comfortably took our seats and asked for the menu card. As we both have an excellent idea about Bengali cuisines and at that time we both were too hungry for lunch, so we decided to take two plates of yellow Rice(Basanti polao) along with Bhetki Paturi and Mutton Dak banglo. I always preferred sweet for beverage so we order Rajbhog at the end. After placing the order, they took very little time to serve the placed orders. Each of the preparations was awesome and we literally sat and relished the items. I loved the Bhetki paturi  the most because the fish was fresh & very well prepared, delicious taste simply asks for one adjective "wow"! I have rarely been to such typical Bengali restaurants but I really loved it. The lunch was really a great experience because of the lip smacking preparations.

We went out in search of something different last Sunday afternoon.. some kinda comfort food and as luck would have it.. within 5min we found ourselves at Sholo Ana Bangali. Reached towards the middle of lunch service so we managed to get a table on the upper level.. i must mention the effort taken to provide an ambience to go with the food..
The food.. what can I say.. it was the good stuff - authentic, tasty, generous portions, all served hot. Thoroughly satisfying. Service from front-of-the-house to billing and even the security guy helping people park deserves a kind mention. It’s nice to find a place like this which values its patrons including first-timers like us.. A full cover by the time we left echoed their popularity. Would recommend for a eat-out or a order-in.

This is a small place and has an ambiance similar to a theme puja pandal (hope you got the point). They follow in the same road that has been pioneered by bhojohori manna. The price is a bit on the lower side. I have been here quite a few times. Strange enough, yet true that I have liked the vegetarian dishes over the non vegetarian ones. Chhanar dalna and enchor were super flavorsome. I still remember me and my half sitting over there on a stormy afternoon and over feeding ourselves with bengali delicacies, carefree of gluttony.

A very nice place to have authentic Bengali foods. We visited the restaurant near garia 45 bus stand on kendua main road. It's not a huge place but nice and cozy. TV and AC available. Staff behaviour and service is good. We got our food just within 10 minutes. Waiting time was much less for us but it may vary according to the rush. The overall ambiance was not outstanding but it's ok. Coming to the main section that is the food. You can enjoy a variety of authentic Bengali foods here. Quality and quantity is equally good. Test superb. We gone through the menu for a long time but finally ordered "small non veg Thali". It's contains plain rice, pulao, one veg sabzi ( "echor" for our order), dal, jhuri aloo bhaja, shukto, Mutton, chatni, papad, rasogolla. There was option of fish instead of mutton but we choose mutton. Another version of non-veg thali also available and veg-thali as well. Test of food was very good, mutton was soft and the gravy was very testy. Simple Moog dal with a hint of coconut was delicious specially when it's combined with steamed rice and gandhoraj lebu. Small non veg thali we ordered was priced Rs. 600/-. Overall a nice experience.

Few days ago visited this place. The ambience is nice. It has a moderate sitting arrangement of around 15- 20 people at a time . This place doenst need any special introduction as this place is making history since decades. The Bengali cuisine adds a perfect touch to the place and loved it. Tried a lot of items. 1) Bori Shukto - This item was really cooked well like the one our mothers make ♥️ the Dal fritters make it taste heavenly. 2) Narkel diye Moong Dal- I found this item to be just average. The flavour of coconut was not very prominent. 3)Kochubata Chingri - This item's flavour was quite unique and loved it's texture. There were fried prawns in it. 4)Kumro Ful e Bora - regular pumpkin flower fritters 5)Chingri Mach e Malaikari - do this item need any explanation or review? This is our favourite item.♥️ 6) Kakra JAL( Crab Curry) - A whole crab was roasted and cooked with love to perfection. The crabs were very fresh and the gravy was super awesome. One of the best crabs preparation in Kolkata I must say. 7) Chingri Pulao - Chingri Pulao is Pulao made with prawns. The prawns were fried and tossed along with the rice. Tastes nice. Very unique. Along with all these , we had rice, juro aloo bhaja, chutney, etc. Nice experience. They will have great puja offers. Go and visit. Thumbs up from us. Shall visit again. You all can order from home

This is a Bengali cuisine restaurant. We ordered a veg thali and 3 non veg thali. Non veg thali contains rice, sukto, mug dal, mutton, kochur Shak with fish, prawn malaicurry, vetki paturi, chatni and rosogolla. Items were too many and quality was good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was ordinary. There was a aquarium and that was the sole decor. Food quality was good.

Location (28/5, Kendua Main Road) of this restaurant is very good. Foods of this restaurant are not very tasty as these are neither oily nor much spicy. So health conscious people may like this restaurant. Tables, plates, dishes etc are clean enough, but wash room is well below standard. Many items printed in the menu card are not available. Price is moderate but some items are really costly.
