The food was quite good and tasty, specially the dosas, the portions are also worth the price, but they generally have no offers nor do they have proper delivery services, and the dahi vada is also not up to the mark. However the prices are pretty cheap.
South Indian flavours are sharp. Their dosa and idlies are really good 😋 If you are looking for good south Indian food at great prices then this is it.
Varakkam.. Namaste. Food is always welcoming you.. 🤗
A very cosy place with a homely environment is what greets foodies here. And, my favorite from here is filter coffee and this dosa. What a burst of flavors this cheese dhaniya dosa gave me! Loaded with fresh coriander leaves and the right amount of cheese, this is my favorite dosa from this place!
Let the dosa blanket you
While you stay warm,
For the next person
To fall for you" 🤤

This is a very small cave behind a secret lane of Behala tram depot. This is the authentic place for every south indian food lover. Along with they have a eat n shop system. You could eat there and look at the varied south indian Culinary items. The tea and coffee their has a different love in my 💓
I am a regular at this eatery located very close to my place. Although the ambience is slightly congested but trust me the food they serve totally makes up for it.
⏺️ Location- This located right beside the famous Panna sweets.
On my recent visit I tried-
⏺️Butter Onion Masala Dosa-This is absolutely heavenly. The masala is serve at an adequate proportion with chopped onions all over it. The dosa itself is super crunchy and fresh served with hot sambar and coconut chutney. No complaints at all 💯
⏺️Cheese Masala Dosa- Cheese spread is generously served on the masala. Tastes totally delightful.
⏺️Sada Vada- Freshly prepared vadas are served with sambar and chutney. Simple and very fulfilling.
⏺️Tea-. This is a major reason why I'm a regular at this place. The tea they serve is absolutely incredible and takes away all the stress one sip at a time .
If you haven't already visited this place trust me you're missing out on a hidden gem that can easily compete with big names featuring South Indian Cuisines.. So do drop by ASAP!
One of the best restaurants around here for good south indian food. Has a wide range of dishes of which dosa and uttapam is the best. I personally recommend onion uttapam and butter masala dosa. Its a must try.
best true south indian food with proper spices and taste. mostly other south indian resturants tend to make the dals, chutneys and curd very thin; not here. very satisfied with quality and quantity.
Awesome South Indian Food. The Masala Dosa ordered by me was superb. The Coconut chutney and Sambhar provided as accompaniments were delicious and adequate in quantity. Highly recommended.
Have ordered from this restaurant quite a few times now. Tried combo meals. Perfect for home delivery at feasible prices. Good taste n adequate quantity .
The packing can be improved using containers instead of packets but overall go ahead n place ur order.
Had ordered
Cheese masala dosa ,
Dahi vada.
Was yum tum for my evening snack yesterday..
Highly recommended. The taste is very distinct and superbly served with a dense veggie filled sambar..I personally love their sambar..
Ordered Onion Dhosa and Dahi Vada from here...Dahi Vada was amazing...it tasted awesome 5/5.....but Onion Dhosa was not crispy.....I mentioned them to make it crispy but it was not crispy at all...although it was good in taste...👍
I had ordered masala dosa from South Indian coffee house. The dosa is good in taste. The sambar is mild and the coconut chutney is exceptionally good.
This restaurant is located near Behala Tram Depot. They are known for their dosas and idlis. The outlet is very small so I prefer ordering from home instead. Their Masala Dosa, Aloo Bonda, Butter Masala Dosa and Cheese Masala Dosa are my favourite. You can get that authentic South Indian flavour. The coconut cutney which they serve with the Dosa is also really good!
This place is a hidden gem in behala tram depot. It os an age old coffee house. The seating arrangement is very bad and you have to seat just in front of a grocery shop. But coming to food and the prices...everything is bearable. They serve around 70 varieties of south Indian dishes and all of them are quite authentic . The cheese dosa at 60 rupees was a steal deal. They have an amazing filter coffee to polish it off too. Recommended as a pocket friendly food joint.
Very fast and good delivery and food quality
Promised delivery by the delivery boy!
We ordered paneer onion masala dhosa , and cheese onion masala dhosa from zomato . Both tasted soooo delicious . perfect south Indian food .
Probably the best South Indian cuisine destination in Behala region. Authentic. This shop also sells South Indian magazines, spices and snacks.
So one lazy morning decided to have some south indian breakfast and ordered Masala Dosa from " South Indian Coffee House".
To my surprise they really offers some good Dosa with south indian touch and flavours.
Served in Banana leaf with good blend of spices in Sambhar and Chutni.
Taste is good and rate is reasonable.
Delivered in time but charging extra money for packing with newspaper was not expected.
Hope to order more.
Best Wishes !!! :-)
I ordered Dahi Idli from the place through zomato. The delivery time was good depending on this puja time.
Coming to the food part, the quantity was very good considering the price, the card was very good. But I would talk about the Idli that it was quite hard and not soft as we expect. But the taste was very good.
Quite reasonable dosa joint. Food is good but sometimes the chutney can be stale, so see to it before you serve the customers. Overall the quality and service is good.
Best south Indian restaurant in behala, i have tried masala dhosa in many resturent but I thik this is the Best. Coconut chatni is quite different.
taste of the food is good but it sould be best.
I love South Indian cuisines and this is my favorite among the places where I've had that cuisine. Not only because it's extremely light on your pocket (believe me, you won't get this food at such a low price), but because the food tastes good. Dosas and Idlis are great, but my favorites are the Uttapam, Dahi Vada, and Veg Pulao. And don't miss the buttermilk too. You might call it a bit 'shabby', but I feel that's what makes it more attractive. Just a few steps from the busy Diamond Harbor Road, the moment you enter this restaurant, it takes you to absolutely another world. The ambiance is probably going to remind you of the small roadside cafes of Kerala.
Best cheese onion masala dosa..... Probably best in our locality.......... Very good in size... N taste... Awesome
An old favourite, not only do they serve sumptuous and appetising dishes, they also sell authentic South Indian spices, snacks, Sarees and even magazines here. A quintessential Mini Kerala in Behala
Ordered a Sada Cheese Dosa, Masala Dosa, Sada Dosa and idli.....The size of the dosas we're good and filling......This a small cafe like restaurant a bit old but the taste is good....Their sambhar and chutney are loved by my family.....The cheese dosa however had but less cheese which could have been more....the sambhar is spicy and full of vegetables.....the coconut chutney is not like the watery ones which just flow off rather it was dry and enough for 3 people.....masala dosa was also optimum with loads of potato masala inside.....all in whole the food was tasty and warm
I have order 2 plate but I have received only one plate idli ??
The cheese masala dosa is simply yum! Same goes for some of the combo meals. Great food with minimal pocket pinch
Trust me when I say this, one of the best south indian food shop here in kolkata. Earlier my father used to bring dosas and vadas when we moved to kolkata several years back ,have been a fan since then. I love their filter coffee both hot and cold, egg masala dosa, sambar vada, paper dosa and their dahi vada is a must, must try. It's just in the lane of panna oil , sweets and kamdhenu and if you don't watch out ,u will be unable to find. Very small shop, you would find tons of south indian snacks too. They sell a small filter coffee sache of rs.2 each, which i find quite tasty..! Overall, if you are into old, authentic food joints then it's a must visit. They are in swiggy, zomato too.
I am going to this place since time immemorial. I have literally grown up on their dosas and idlis. It is a pure south indian restaurant cum grocery store. U get everything here belonging to southern India. I love their dosas and idlis. U can also try their filter coffee.
This eatery is in existence since I was a child, small room, simple table close by each other feels like eating in home with family even when one eats with strangers. My childhood nostalgia.
Same quality, same taste, same intimate touch one gets from their service.
South Indian Coffee House owns a special place in my heart. Almost 17/18 years ago I discovered this little Cafe-Shop situated at the the heart of Behala Tram Depot Market. At that point of time, I was a lonely teenager who used to go to this shop to have the best quality comfort south indian food in Behala. Last week when I went to the renovated new shop, the brothers(the owners) greeted me with the same smile and warmth. This place is very cozy, peaceful, comfortable. Food is sumptuous, healthy and still remained very pocket friendly. And Yes, You will find all kind of south indian masalas, chips, pickles at the shop. Last week I had, Onion Sada Dosa + Double Omlette + Coffee. It costed 150/-. Go and be there with your loved ones. Thank me later.

Reasonable and Economic.Food taste is good.Quantity provided is also enough. Ordered from Swiggy, packing and everything overall is impressive.
Thinking of eating authentic south Indian food. Definitely u will love the taste. If u are in or around Behala, then this is the place. Lovely dishes and awesome taste.
The quality and quantity was fantastic. Probably the best in Kolkata. Value for money. Must try. Higly Recommended 👍
Affordable and delicious South Indian vegetarian food and coffee. The place is small and not decorated but the food is authentic. The dry snacks items available for sale there are also very good and goes well with tea or coffee. It is not a hangout spot, but a good eatery.
Excellent food. But sitting arrangement is not so great.
Although small and a little shabby looking , this place offers wonderful authentic South indian food and coffee. The taste and quality is commendable . The staffs are very polite and well behaved .
Excellent south indian food at cheapest rate in Behala. Try Dhania Dosa which is famous.
Probably the oldest South Indian eatery in behala that is still serving authentic taste South Indian food. the quality is not the same. The looks of the place is not at all impressive. They sell some South Indian packaged snacks like raw banana chips, murukku etc as well.
Vinge South Indian Food Shop in Behala .
Reasonable price with Good quality products.
Hidden gem in Behala. Prices are also moderate. Homely atmosphere. Must visit for people of Behala.
Authentic and old south Indian restaurant with basic south Indian style seating and excellent food at pocket friendly price point near Bahala Tram Depot bus stand. Only downside is that the place is non AC and hence is hot in summers. Recommended for all.
