In south kolkata amoung the vast variety of mugal resturants this is among one of the most amazing places to dine in. Its located near VIP bazar crossing. The place have an amazing decor with the theme of white colours. The staff service is also good. They are pretty active and the good quantity is pretty good as compared to the prices. For quick bites the Rolls are realy good. Kababs are really tendered and juicy too.
Overall its an amazing place to dine with family n friends.

A sudden craving for biryani led us to visit this place and yes im feeling happy with the good food in me...
We ordered the special mutton biryani which had 2 huge pieces of mutton and a large potato and an egg... The rice was perfectly done n had just the right amount of flavours.. not too strong and i loved it...
Then coming to the chicken reshmi kabab... Finger licking good it was .. rich n creamy without being too heavy..
The firni was delightful.... With the right dash of sweetness ..

Few months ago I have ordered chicken biriyani from this place. After a lot of survey and references I went for this one as I heard many positive reviews from my friends. Though I wish to dine someday here but first took a delivery attempt and guess what!! Biriyani was amazing and really sumptuous for one person. Not so rich and oily, it had a pleasant taste. Wanted to visit their outlet for dining experience. Biriyani lovers can visit this place for once.

I never tried anything else than biriyani from shimla biriyani, today tried something different from them. I tried chicken tandoori ordered from zomato, the packaging was good and the taste nice would be better if they don't use so much of grease in it.

A very nice family restaurant with a great ambience. The food is very good both quality and quantity wise.
I remember the first time I had from this place, it was a very bad experience. It was a take away and the biryani was so bad!
But, one striking difference is when I chose to try it once more and this time I chose the dine in option. Since then it's been so many times that I have been to this place and its awesome. Idk why the takeaway food was bad, but, if you are dining in, the food is amazing. The various biriyanis, kebabs, rezala, rotis, salads, I have tried most of them, and they are really tasty and does not cause any gastroenterological problems. It also has a beautiful ambience.

Shimla biriyani is located on the highway side beside ruby general hospital. The restaurant is very good for dine in. The interior is very well decorated. The biriyani in the speciality here and there are variety of biriyani which would surely make your taste buds go wow. You can also have the firni which is super delicious which i have tasted so far. Went there with 6 other friends, after visiting science city....we went to the 1st floor and chose to sit on the royal seats, those chairs and table were unique from others. Ordered Mutton Biriyani, chicken chaap, firni, fresh lime soda, tangri kebab, butter nun and chicken chowmein. All the dishes were extremely yummy and were great in quantity, each dish enough for 2 to share, except the chicken chaap, i didn't like it at all, it had a strong fragrance of something, and for which it tasted bad. The biryani which we ate was truly fantastic. There are around 12 varieties of biryani and all have their own uniqueness. The ambiance was fantastic there was also a mocktel stand. The only disappointment to me was the wait time we had been told to wait for an hour but they took 30 minutes extra but the overall experience was great.

Visited this place a month back with family. The interiors are really cool and the biryani they serve tastes amazing. Took masala cold drinks and mutton tikia along with the biryani. The biryani is great in taste with the rice quality being really good and the mutton is really tender. Highly recommending this place.

The quality and the taste of the dishes we ordered was too good.
We ordered one Kachhi Biryani and Murgh Lahore.The combination of the food is too good.One is spicy and the other is sweet.The amount of biryani they serve is enough for two.The chicken pieces are soo Juicy that I can't forget the taste.
It's the first time I tried hyderabadi biryani and my first attempt is memorable.
But the staff of this restaurant is not at all experienced.
But the ambiance of the restaurant is good for family outing...

Shimla biriyani is a hidden gem I must say... they served delicious foods. Biriyani is famous there...but they served delicious kababs shake..and other Mughal dishes...foods are are great in terms of taste and quality!

3. Mutton Kacchi Biryani : Mutton marinated with yogurt and cooked in a pot. The rice was a bit salty and the mutton wasn’t that much tender.

They served the biriyani in hot earthen pot .. first of all aroma of the biriyani was so good .. quantity of the biriyani for 2 more than enough .. consist of 1 big potato and 1 mutton ..this biriyani was spicy and full of dry fruits ..
Chicken Lahori was sweet kind of chicken dish .. perfect combination with kachhi biriyani.. ✨👍
1) Foods are okay okay and budget friendly.
2)Ambience is a bit crowded and main problem here is their central AC,there are certain places where you have to sit in order to avoid cold blow of ac.
3) Service iwas quick and staff were friendly.
4)We ordered a Sundae ice cream which was 140, but we want it in a smaller quantity so they divide it in two cups and served that was amazing
The taste of their Biriyani is excellent and I was truly amazed after seeing that they kept their signature taste intact even at an extremely crowded night of Christmas. They also managed the crowd and parking very well and even after having hundreds of people in queue ahead of us, we got our table in under 30mins of waiting. Other than their biryani, Chicken Lahori is a must try.

Shimla biryani has completely transformed into a full fledged restaurant. Have expanded so well, two storeys enabling several patrons being served simultaneously. VIP bazaar that used to be pedestrians nightmare has been spruced up. Thanks to the Metro station!

Shimla Biriyani is a renowned restaurant in EM Bypass area. The place is full of different amenities and restaurants but we chose this one for celebrating our special day with each other (1st year anniversary)
We ordered
1. Mutton Biriyani (1pc mutton) - 300rs
2. Butter Naan (1pc) - 45
3. Kolkata Bhetki (4pc) - 485 rs
Food was simply outstanding. Specially the fish dish. (Highly recommended) It was decorated with shredded cheese, butter, chilli, cashew nuts cream etc.
The butter naan was overloaded with butter, and Mutton Biriyani taste was too good and the mutton was succulent.
Price is not too much , ambience was very nice, the sitting arrangement also. Staff behaviour is very nice.
All over our experience was too good.
This place is nice. The service, food quality, quantity and atmosphere all are good. The behaviour of the employees was also good. Even in their rush hours they don't compromise with their savings and quality of the food. Parking is a bit difficult to find in the festive season otherwise it was good.
We have tried below dishes today.. mostly are tasty but couple of dishes were disappointment.
1. Murgh lasooni ( big in sizes and tastes delicious)
2. Fish tikka ( moderate size but tastes delicious)
3. Mutton keema biriyani ( very good biriyani. Unique. Whole biriyani has keema mixed in and one big piece comes with it.
4. Chicken biriyani ( comes with a big chicken piece)
5. Kabooli nan ( very sweet .. not recommended at all, we could not finish it. It tastes very bad)
6. Murgh lajawaab ( chicken sizes are small and taste very average. Not so much recommended)
7. Firni ( very tasty and its recommended)
In beverages we took fresh lime soda and cold drinks. I think this goes best with biriyani.. not mocktail. But there are many mocktail options here.
For car parking, its free and they help us. They have their own spaces.
Overall experience is good. We have ordered
1 special mutton biryani (2 big pcs of juicy soft mutton, light weight biryani, 1 big pc of aalu and 1 egg) highly recommended
1 mutton keema (shredded) - it is a dish to have with roti not recommended with biryani
1 chicken chatpata (6 pieces)- amazing starter nice flavour(highly recommended)
1 green salad
1 virgin mojito - it was the best with pudina and mint flavour , it worked like life saver to me as I was full😂(recommended)
Our caption was less knowledgeable cause we've asked for suggestions that which dish will be perfect with biryani rather than chicken/mutton chanp he failed tp recommend really disappointed for this. Otherwise everything is fine.

This place has a huge space, we went on the first floor and the view of the road was good, enjoyable.
We ordered one special mutton biryani and chicken bhuna.
Biriyani was less in quantity. But we have no complaints about the taste. Rice was not at all spicy and the mutton piece is so soft and tender that it melts in your mouth.
Chicken bhuna was a little bit spicy and thick gravy. One thing is good that they didn't take much time to serve the food after ordering.

The food is amazing and at a very reasonable price and a very good place for family and friends. However the service was a little bit off as things got messy since it was a little crowded ( maybe because there was a birthday celebration going on ) on that day. This place has a well air conditioned beautifully lighted up ambience (you can get good selfies and photos with your fav foods). Coming to food, we ordered Fish Tandoori (as per some google review recommendations), and Murg Lahsooni Kebab as starters. Both (4.5/5) were served with green chutney and a spicy onion salad. Fish Tandoori (4 pieces) was spicy, well cooked, and flavoured with tandoori masala. For Murg Lahsooni Kebab you will be served four chicken drumstick pieces (soft and juicy) and would be low spicy. I pretty much recommend both of these dishes. The pocket pinch may look a bit high but it's worth the taste with such a beautiful ambience. Next, we ordered chicken biryani (normal not the special one) with an extra paid egg and green salad. I suggest you to please speak your choice whether you prefer less oily or more, the gentlemen taking orders will listen. Coming to taste, it was good (3.5/5) but not of that expectation that people hype or we can expect from a fine dining restaurant. But overall, this was a good first time experience and would love to visit again. We spent around 1100 INR for two people.
