Probably the most sought after place during the Ramzaan month. After a long wait, got to reach the counter to try out their famous authentic Murgh Changezi,& Falooda. They also have a fish version, but did not try it out.The chicken was marinated in secret blend of spices & fried twice, resulting in a crunchy outside but succulent inner core.An amazing chicken dish which is a must try fro fried chicken lovers. It may seem bit costly to some, but its definitely worth it.

Went to this place during Ramzaan to try out their Mahi akbari. It was quite crowded as it was somewhat the peak hours and the time of iftari. They had arranged for 6-8 chairs for customers to sit and eat during that time but normally they don't have sitting arrangements. We ended up having that too delicious Falooda I can still recollect it's taste. It was too good only at ₹55/- and it's an all season dish so you will get it whenever you visit this place.

During ramajaan we went there to try their famous Murg Changezi, falooda and lassi. During iftaar the place was very crowded. We managed some place to sit and murg changezi was awsome. The double fried chicken with mint - coriander chatni filled my heart. The falooda and lassi were also good.

We all know that Ramazan and Zakaria street is quite trending now in Social media. Following the trend we end up visiting taskeen to have their legendary chicken changezi and mahi akbari. So basically Chicken changezi is a kind of fried chicken, they marinate the Chicken with more than 50 spices and double fry it. It was then chopped, sprinkled with some spices and served. It tastes just heveanly, absolutely not like any ordinary fried chicken. The mahi akbari is the same dish prepared with huge cut of rohu/katla fish. The special feature of their marination is that the huge amount of spices creates such a complexity that it can beat any of the branded fried chicken.

Another famous restaurant at the heart of Zakaria Street. Right next to Dilli 6, this place too serves quite a number of mughlai food. The famous food here is chicken changezi. Didn't really get a chance to try their changezi though. Had a chance to try out their Shahi Tukda but was not quite satisfied with it. It was quite runny and hard to chew. Would probably try the changezi next time.

Situated near the entrance of the Nakhoda Masjid Taskeen is a hot favourite among the street food lovers during the holy Ramzan.Expect a long queue almost every time.Service is prompt though.Drool worthy food will compensate the struggle in the sultry weather.Cool yourself with the fantastic Faluda.Taskeen is easily one of the best in its category.A gem of a place.

Okay so this is probably the most famous destination when you come to Zakaria Street during the month of Ramadan.
Today was the last day of the month, and I finally managed to get to this popular place. Since it was the last day, as expected, it was very much crowded. We had to wait for almost 30 mins just to give the order, and then again wait for around 30 mins to get the food. Well I'm not blaming Taskeen, the crowd was unbelievable and they were trying their best.

Coming to the food, we ordered (as you can guess it) Chicken Changezi of 600 grams (also commonly known as "Murgh Changezi"), 500 grams of Fish Akbari (commonly known as "Mahi Akbari"), and a Faluda. All I can say is that, waiting for the food for around 1 hour was truly worth it. The Murgh Changezi was hot, crispy, and extremely delicious, so was the Mahi Akbari. And the Faluda was simply heaven, a must try at the end.

@Metropolitan boy.
After planning several times , finally visited Zakaria street yesterday. Roads were jam packed. I knew where to give a visit, so went to Taskeen.
I took 350 gm of Chicken changezi ( You have to select a marinated chicken piece , they weight the piece and then you have to pay ) which was 189 rupees and Kesar Faluda was 55 rupees per glass. Coming to the taste -
1 . Chicken Changezi - It was just brilliant in taste, although a little bit in oily side but you can't escape that as you are eating fried chicken. You can definitely taste the combination of masalas( 52 to be exact) that they marinate the chicken with. 😁

2. Kesar faluda - After the fried chicken , the best thing you can have is their faluda( They have lassi too). Super tasty, not very sweet and refreshing. You can taste some nuts also in there. On the top they add kesar which acts as a cherry on top. ❤️

This is the first time I've been here...it's a completely different experience..crowded..very hot and sultry..but still liked the place...I went there with my students...we ordered Chicken Changreji..basically fried chicken...50 different spices are used then marinated and deep fried and cut into bite sized pieces...served with lachcha onion and a green dip..we also ordered Lassi and Falooda drink...I likedthe Lassi...because it was not over sweetened..and the Falooda drink tasted like kulfi and rabri..very rich in taste...we immensely enjoyed our Ramadan feast here...specially recommend the fried chicken..tastier than typical crispy chicken...

I had went to this place some days earlier nearly about a week ago. I had heard from many people about this shop at zakeria street. Finally I had got my time to visit their.
This shop is famous for Chicken Changezi and mahi akbari during Ramzon.Mahi akbari is a fish item. Both of the items are prized in kgs
Price of chicken Changezi which we had tried in 540 per kg.
The place is cozy. But being a food lover it's a heaven 😍

Today we are at Zakaria Street, Kolkata. It's 6 pm, Iftar starts after one hour or so. The restaurants and street food joints are busy, customers are congregating.

After having the Suta Kebab from Adam's Kabab Shop we were delighted, we started our food exploration with new enthusiasm! The streets were packed with people and vehicles, the side of the streets were packed with shops selling variety of food items.

But, it's not possible for us to try all the delicacies, so we went to the famous eatery, Taskeen straightaway. There is a long queue. Somehow, we managed to order 300 grams of Murgh Chengezi, then waited for at least half an hour before we could savour this absolutely brilliant chicken fry.

The whole chicken is marinated with a whole lot of spices (more than 50 types of spices according to the owner), then it's deep fried. After that, it's cut into small pieces and again again. It was excellent, the chicken was juicier than I expected it to be. The crunchiness, the tangy spices and the sweet chutney - Really! The perfect appetizer!

Then, I had their Lossi & Faluda. Both of them were delicious and refreshing! The Faluda here is a must try!

Visited during Ramzaan on a Monday evening. It had quiet a good crowd.
It took approx 30mins to place an order and 15mins after that to cook it for us.
Took 400 grams of Chicken Changhezi which came around Rs 182 and it's enough for 2 if you plan to try more things or have tried already.

I have been here 2 years back and the quality was far better than I got that day. Now it's pretty over hyped. Not enough coating, not enough flavour. It was pretty similar to roadside pakoras I used to have in Hyderabad for very cheap, this quality isn't what I got 2 years back. It was just decent.

During summer as the mercury rises, the iftar market in Zakaria Street comes alive with those observing fast in the holy month of Ramzan. Aside this, its a melting pot of the city during this time of year which is not limited to only food bloggers and photography enthusiasts of the city like me.

As we set our foot towards the corridor of famous Khau Galli and guess what the most popular and crowd puller Taskeen is waiting to welcome us with Murgh Changezi. Chicken breast or leg portion marinated in 50 plus spices before double fried in boiling oil and copped in pieces before serving. With every delightful bite of this crispy fried chicken you will realize its exquisite taste and why this fuss and crowd all about. Do you know they are the trademark holder of this dish? Chicken measured in weight and around 200 grams should be enough for a single person. Keep space for thick, creamy Falooda and Lassi. These are must to wash down the spice and keep your energy quotient high in this sultry weather.

Word of caution, the place is not for hygiene freak or fine diners, the visuals take you back in time how we use to cook in a rustic way. However you can enjoy with your family and friends round-the-clock as this is one of the safest place in the city.

Heard a lot about this place.and finally I managed to go there some days ago.
As it is the time of ramadan, i don't wanna miss this opportunity..
So I was there during my last visit to zakaria street (on
22may,2019).
I reached there around 4:30 pm but this place was very crowded...
Though no seat was vacant inside ,i managed to get it on the road in front of the resto..

I tried some of their very famous dishes like chicken changrezi(crispy fried chicken),mahi akbari(fried rohu fish) and falooda..

Chicken changrezi was very good .It had a crispy texture with proper balance of spice..
Though it was very oily , it tasted good👍

Mahi abkari had a cruncy outside with a very juicy inside. the spices used in it gave a mouthfull of flavour at every bite..
It was Simply awesome...👌👌👍❤️

Last but not least falooda was just amazing..
It had a very Creamy and smooth texture with proper sweetness..Just amazing.❤️❤️👌

【But please note that
Both mahi akbari and chicken changrezi are sold on the basis of wait.
So either you have to tell the amount in weight or you may choose the pieces from their stock ..Then they will take a weight of it and will note that on your bill which you have to pay at the cash counter .And after your order get prepared ,they will call you by the bill no..】

Price:chicken changrezi(540₹/kg)
Falooda(55₹/glass)

**(Price may vary slightly due to variation of the price of raw materials)

◆[P.s: Try to reach there by 4-4:30pm during ramadan to avoid the crowd.]

This only operates during the Ramadan months nearby Nakhoda Masjid of Zakaria street. We had visited a year ago and had a pretty good experience then.Chicken changezi is the real crowd puller for place and it along with Mahi akbari are really good and are sold by weight.
What we had here
•Chicken Changezi:Quite a famous one right now, this dish is usually having its roots to arab.
Price:₹440/Kg
Rating:4/5
This place serves only during the month of Ramzan, and we tried out the signature Chicken Changezi, which is as told to us a famous dish, the chicken is soaked in 51 different spices and deep fried in traditional utensils.Yes it was spicy, very tasty, fresh and it melts in mouth smoothly.
It was served with this special Chutney and provided a perfect blend to it.This quantity cost us ₹192 and so it's reasonable here.If you visit the 'kebab gully of Kolkata' this is a must try.
•Shahi Tukda:Price:₹72
Rating:3.5/5
Shahi Tukda is a very famous Hyderabadi sweet dish prepared with bread in condensed milk with dry fruits with small amount of saffron.
We tasted this during the month of Ramadan,in Zakaria Street, Kolkata at the famous Taskeen, located opposite to Nakhoda Masjid.
The milk was thick,it was sweet enough to make you drool over it and yes it was something different from whatever we had tasted there that day.
We would recommend this after you have had all the kebabs and Halim to end the food walk on a sweet note.
•Faluda:This was really really good.a bit over proces, but will leave you drooling for long.It is prepared and kept refrigerated for long and served chilled.A year ago Price was around ₹60.
Rating 4.8/5
All together, this is a must try place. You will be guided well by the well behaved staff here.It will be a happy experience.

Taste wise awesome. A must visit for food lovers.

I went to this place during Ramzan with two of my friends. Thanks to Mir and Foodka series on YouTube from where we came to know about this place.

This place is famous for Chicken Changezi and Mahi Akbari during this time. Chicken Changezi is a double fried chicken kebabs served with green chutney and salad and Mahi Akbari is a double fried katla fish served with green chutney and salad.

Both of these items are priced in kgs so we had to first weigh the quantity( pre-marinated) we want, pay the bill in advance and then they prepared the dishes and served us.

Both the preparations were mind-blowing and mouth-watering and very well cooked.

This place is also famous for Faluda which is a dessert item served in a glass. It ws toooooo goooooooddddddd!!!!
We also had one plate of Shahi Tukra which was equally good as well.

Visited Taskeen on 25/05/2019. Located just beside Dilli 6, this place creates a lot of buzz during Ramzan. We tried both their signature dishes - Murgh Changezi and Mahi Akbari. Murgh Changezi is similar to fried chicken, but the variety of spices used makes it extremely delicious. But Mahi Akbari was far below expectations. Nothing special about it. If you visit during Ramzan, be prepared to wait for at least an hour before you get your food as this place becomes very crowded.

Small shop with basic seating and out of the world chicken changrezi and delectable faluda on a budget that won't break your bank. The staff seemed overworked but were still polite and welcoming. A must go for every foodie out there, you wont be disappointed.

Ps: They sell the chicken changrezi by weight, so its easier to customise the portions. And if you are in doubt ask the staff, they were quite helpful to us.

Location: On Zakaria St, closest metro station is Central. It's a 10mins walk through narrow lanes from Central metro. Ambience: Couple of tables on the footpath, basic clean, shabby waiter. There's a small ac room upstairs. Open kitchen on the footpath, no washroom, the basin is on the footpath. Service: Only packaged drinking water available, service is fast, nobody will give you the bill, you need to go to the cash counter and pay. Ordered: * Falooda: The desserts were kept in a fridge on the footpath, falooda was served in a glass, was a nice mix of creamy saffron milk and small pieces of noodles, excellent taste, Rs 80. Overall, very good dessert. Highly recommended!

If you want to come for vives come in ramzan, It is highly crowded with festive mood during this month.Getting seat in this time is hard. If for taste come in another time of month . Try Murg Changezi that is made very well here. You can also try the Thick Lassi and Faluda here. We tried malai chicken with romali rooti that was also quite good but Dilli 6 is more famous for this dish. Must try items: Murg Changezi,Lassi,Faluda

One of the best eateries in zakaria street. The best thing is that they have a secret sitting place up top. Most people just sit on the roadside table to eat. Afghani and peshwari chicken are a must. The biryani is average and dalda is used which is no good. The changezi chicken is good but not that special.

This is a very popular food joint located in Zakaria Street , just in front of Nakhoda Mosque. During Ramadan, there is a steep increase in the crowd visiting this eatery. But I personally believe it's not only a place which should be visited during Eid but also a place for a promenade in normal days as well. The items I tried in Taskeen: •Peshawari Muragghan •Sheermal ( a sweetened bread ) •Falooda •Taskeen's lassi •Fish Mahi Akbari The most famous dish here is Chicken Changezi ( not tried )and Fish Mahi Akbari. But both of them are actually overhyped. On contrary, the least popular items taste quite good. The biggest negative side here is that everything is super expensive which actually failed to match with the quality , henceforth not worth it at all.

Taskeen is the best place to have food in zakaria street. You can have multiple varieties of kebabs here. Try their famous chicken changezi. Must try the faluda and lassi of Taskeen.
