A must visit breakfast place for when you are in Kolkata. Even though they are famous for serving the best chicken stew in India but don't miss out on their fried delicacies. I loved their egg wellington and fish cutlet. Not located in the cleanest of streets but the line infront of this small shop will raise irresistible curiosity in your mind to atleast try and believe me you will not regret your decision even for a second. I did a food tour of Kolkata. So feel free to ask questions and follow my reviews.

At the bustling heart of James Hickey Sarani, lies Chitto Babur Dokan, a relic of culinary heritage. This timeless street food haven beckons with its historic charm, promising a nostalgic journey through breakfast delights. The Chicken Stew seemed average at first, yet it had this intriguing quality that made it stand out. It's a must-try for anyone craving a nostalgic morning bite. The takeaway packaging was remarkably good. Even though the hygiene was a little compromised, I would have to say my overall experience was really fantastic.

Let me first say, This is not for anyone who's looking for a hygienic place. And talking about food it's quiet nice here. I tried chicken stew and buttered toast. I liked the combo as a breakfast but there's nothing special about it. This is Just a regular chicken soup in a better way. But you can try once here as it's a local heritage kind of food.

We had fish fry, chicken pakora, ghughni, bread toast and tea over there. I found the chicken pakora as the best among these. Fish fry was also very tasty. As they have extreme amount of sale going on, you will always find food very fresh over there.

Words cannot express how hearty and delicious the food here is. The chicken stew was rich in flavor, with tender chunks of chicken that practically melted in my mouth. The aromatic blend of spices and herbs added a tantalizing depth to the dish, leaving me craving for more with each spoonful. The portion size was generous, and it was served piping hot, just the way it should be. Complementing the Chicken stew was the crispy Diamond fish cutlet, which turned out to be a true gem. The cutlet was perfectly fried to a golden crisp on the outside, while the inside remained moist and flavorful. The fish was incredibly fresh and had a delicate taste that paired wonderfully with the crispy coating. It was an absolute delight to savor, and I found myself enjoying every single bite.

Chitto Babur Dokan is one of the oldest street food stalls in Kolkata city which sells various types of street foods. But the Chicken Stew with Butter Toast and Bhetki Fish Fry are the most popular and tasty items here. In particular, the chicken stew of this stall is unique in its taste. However, it's a street food stall, so do not go there with the expectation of good customer service or hygiene. If you will consider these things, it is a good place to have tasty snacks at a lower price.

I love this lane and whenever I visit this city I try to visit chitto babur dokan. The chiken stew 🍲 is awesome a must try and its healthy. Mutton stew is available but it ends up early. The fish cutlet and fish roll along with other fritters are available to bring happiness to your tongue 😛. Decers Lane is known to everyone and if you are a foodie then it's a paradise.

Before coming to this place you must set your mind with a picture of standing in a crowd and balancing your plate and eat a delicious food!! The benches are always full so if you want eat there you have to stand and eat. Else you can pack them at eat at home. But you will miss the soul of this place for sure!! Food is excellent and with reasonable pricing. Quality of food is really good. Mostly it’s the office goers food destination. But people also pack and take food in bunches for party .. come once get this experience of eating good food here. Star of the menu is chicken stew and bread.

Great taste Kolkata's original chicken stew, fish fry too good don't miss the tea that too have good flavour. All knows the history, not repeating it. One thing i observed today that many of the stew plates became very old and got stain on it, may i request you to change those.

One of the oldest food center in Kolkata, situated at Decarce lane behind Great Eastern hotel at Esplanade, regular office goers are the customers of this eatery,so, quality of the food is undoubtedly good and price is reasonable too. Waiting time only 5 minutes maximum, staff's are well traind in their jobs, best dishes are mutton/chicken strew with toast, fish fry, chicken pokora etc, washroom not available and the area is not maintain cleanliness.
