I happened to chance upon this place one fine evening, and till date, if I want good Bengali food at a reasonable price, this is the go-to place. Almost every dish I have tasted has impressed me, and the best part is that they serve Gondhoraj lebu.

Bengali fathers are always on the verge to having Bengali cuisines during pujo and if its Asthami, it has to be all being Bengali. I have always loved this place for many reasons. From the lovely family crowds to the finger licking dishes, this is a must visit place for everyone here.

Today we had our lunch at Ghare Baire. It was really awesome. The restaurant is small but very nicely decorated. Nice atmosphere, cordial behaviour from the people serving food. We had all Bengali food. Amporar sarbat, basmati rice, Bengali polao, ilish Kancha jhol, Kochi pathar jhol and Chicken. We enjoyed the food.
Ghore Baire restaurant is a authentic bengali restaurant..Food is excellent in taste..the decor of interior is so much touchy..Staffs are really co-operative and well-behaved..

Ghare Baire is a Bengali restaurant serving some authentic Bengali cuisine . Loved their 'shukto'. Overall, it was a nice experience , nothing out of the box.

Located very near our college, we decided to visit this place for a proper bangaliana lunch.
The place is adjacent to the treebo hotel, opposite Sangam beauty Parlour in hazra with a good ambience and courteous staff.
Coming to the menu, it has a good variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian food. Considering that our group had one vegetarian, we all were quite content with the dishes.
The taste was simple, yet the flavours had a lingering effect. In vegetarian option, the chanar kalia was phenomenal. And in the non vegetarian option, their chicken jahanara is a must try with some steaming basmati rice.
The quantity and quality was decent too, making it quite economical bugdet wise as well.

Ambience of the restaurant is very nice. We went there for lunch. They welcomed us very wholeheartedly . we orderd Golden fried prawn as starter. Then for the main course we had Basmati Rice , Norom Chanar Kaliya , Chitol Muitha and Mutton steamer curry.
Firstly Golden fried prawn is just heavenly in taste. It comes 10 pieces in a plate with 2 type of sauces and onion rings, lemon and green chilli.
Next Basmati rice is normal but not very thin in shape. The amount of rice is less for a plate compared to other restaurants.
Norom Chanar Kaliya is average in taste with 4 pieces in a plate. Actually the Koftas or balls are tasty soft and mouth watering but the curry is not prepared well
Chitol Muitha comes 3 pieces in a plate and it gives you the perfect taste of chittol fish. Gravy is also good. You can have this dish.
Last but not the least Mutton steamer curry is just awesome. The gravy is too delicious with Alu and 4 pieces of mutton. Mutton pieces are tender and good to eat. You must try this.
Lastly I really like their behaviour courtesies and atmosphere. You must visit here atleast once.
The place has a very sound ambience...its neat and clean. Food is tasty and well prepared...it is a treat for those who love classical Bengali food...well accessible location.
I liked everything about this place- the food, the ambience, the staff. Service was moderately quick and prices were fair. I had bhape ilish for lunch and it was well prepared, so was the payesh. But the bhaja was a bit bland and did not seem to have even a pinch of salt. Overall I am satisfied and will surely visit the place again.
As with every other Bengali restaurants, this place has high-priced menu with very less quantity to offer. But the staff is very humble and genial. The ambience is not unique but good. Surely, a foodie can enjoy the Bengali food here.

This place is a must try for all the authentic bengali food lovers. Ambience is good,reception and food is awesome. We tried non veg thali,polau and mutton kasha. In the thali all the items were delicious including ilish curry,doi rui steamer curry and bhetki paturi. This was our first try here..we are hopong for more visits soon..
Excellent food and an interesting menu. The decor could do with some sprucing up though. The service more than makes up for that shortcoming!! Had a veg thali and was very satisfied. Quantity was sumptuous. I look forward to my next meal here. All the best
I visited this hidden gem with my family on a rainy afternoon last week. I'd heard good reviews from my family members and was glad to check it out. It's Situated on the street opposite kalighat fire brigade.
We had a veg and a non- veg thala - which included 6 pieces of luchi, alur dum- very tasty, rice, moong dal, shredded alu chips, mocha, doi begun, ilish- was ok, could have been fresher and tastier. Also tried the pomfret fish curry which was divine. Chitol muitha was also great. Overall it was a great experience. And the dishes were not as expensive as some of the other popular bengali joints. So definitely will pop in again.

This place makes awesome chingri macher malaikari and chitol macher muitha..its so delicious i was literally astonished by their quality at par with any 3star restaurant and so is quantity..i got the food home delivered and it was delivered within the time they committed..Good balance of flavour and the chef is really a seasoned one..Do try out guys...i hope they keep up their food quality and taste as good as this.. I'll sure try their other delicacies as well...Enjoyed my food to the fullest..

Located at the Harish Mukherjee Road just a min. walk from Kalighat fire station which serves only bengali cuisines. Visited this joine for a take away on a sunday evening. Ordered luchi, aloor dum, kochu chingri, bhetki dum, polao mutton kasha. Bhetki dum and mutton kasha tasted good. Kochu chingri - hard to find the chingri and did not expect such watery gravy from aloor dum which tasted very blunt. Prices are okish and service is fast.
I was interested to try this restaurant. Yesterday I went in. It is a large restaurant and tastefully decorated. It is almost like visiting a star restaurant ( maybe it is a star restaurant? I wouldn't know)
The menu was not immediately served and I had to ask for it. The price is on the higher side. The thalis attracted my attention but i wanted to parcel home something and it wouldn't prove a good choice. So after discussing with the manager, I chose Chingri malaicurry. It was warm even when we reached home. And it tasted delicious.
There is ample car parking space.
Would take Mom there sometimes to have lunch.
Visited Ghare Baile for bengali cuisine today.
We ordered 1 mahabhog thali and some ala carte dishes. In the thali there was a dal ( a little too sweet for my taste) a tasty sukto and mocha. The ilish bhapa and the dakbangla mutton were also tasty. The thali had accompaniments like papad chutney mishti doi and a paan. In all, the thali was good.
Cannot say the same for the chicken jahanara ( had taste of raw garlic) the daab chingri was not good but when we complained they very kindly changed it and not liking it again-- they did not charge us for it. Fish fingers were quite good.
The staff was polite and helpful. Service was good.
Overall a good experience though would want them to lessen the sugar quotient in the dishes. Dakbangla Mutton is a must try.
Excellent cuisine. Try the Kochu Patar Chingri. Mutton Dakbanglow is yummy! However, the quantity is meagre considering the rather hefty price tags. Staff good and courteous. Not enough tables though.
Good food. The only drawback is it can not accomodate more ppl. The thalis are good except the dessert, could have been a bit more careful about the quality of sweet & misti doi. But overall very good.
The authentic Bengali food here is tasty especially the Elisher kancha jhol. The ambience is also good. The only thing is the staffs here need to be a bit more professional.

Visted this resturant of bengali cuisine after a long time... though i have visted very few resturant of bengali cuisine(including bhajohari manna) , this would be my 1st choice of a bengali cuisine reataurant.. we ordered 2 non veg thali which includes luchi , rice, chicken (2 piece each) , bhetki paturi , chatni, dahi, papad, and pan.. each thali includes another plate rice as complimentary...
We were four.. so we ordered mutton dakbanglow n another bhetki paturi and 2 rice extra... and this amount was sufficient for 4 of us... quality of food was very good... mutton dakbanglow is a must if u visit this place.. total bill was just 1730.. ideal alternative for bhajahari manna in kolkata... actually i liked it more than bhajahari manna ...

They have amish,niramish thalas which serve luchi,alur dam,shukto,one veg item,one non veg item,chatni papad,misti doi n sandesh...which serves as a complete package for a hearty meal...

Food is good , very tasty, little over priced to the quantity they gave, ambience is decent,will cost around 500 bugs for a single person ,service is ok, had lunch on sunday, young crowd were less, but a few old classy people come here. No doubt about the taste that is authentic Bengali.
Excellent Bengali delicacies served generously with extra-special care. Anyone with a penchant for refined delicacies cannot afford to miss at least a lunch.
One of the finest dishes is 'Dab Chingri', while all others that I tried are very good. It might be practical for trying a thali to get a feel of the variety and then form ones own conclusion.

Went here a couple of times with friends, the staff are rally friendly giving you the feeling that you are a regular from the first time you walk in. The ambiance is good and soothing like the one you would expect from a fine dining establishment. Every time we have been here it has been able to maintain and deliver one of the best Bengali dishes we have had, on one occasion an otherwise loud table of ours went completely quiet as the food arrived and we dug in and got lost in its flavors( i was having the mutton kasha).
Allover a great place definitely worth trying.

Amazing food. The hospitality of the staff there is commendable. Been there many times and I just can't get over the mutton kasha and dab Chingri ( prawn ). Recommended highly.
Went to have lunch there last weekend, was not sure before entering the place cause it's new.
Once I entered, I was happy that I didn't turn my back at first. The food was delicious, the people there are amazing. The mutton kasha was melting like ice cream inside my mouth. I've already been there twice this week and looking forward to visit it again as soon as I think of Bengali food.
And I've already recommended the place to my foodie friends and I'll recommend everyone to visit if they want some authentic Bengali food.
Went to this restaurant with friends though we were a bit hesitant as it has recently opened..Have been to most of the restaurants serving bengali cuisine so wanted to give it a try and we were not dissappointed.
Was amazed with the hospitality and service from the staff which is very unlikely in most restaurants. Food was served very quickly.The mutton kasha is worth mentioning. It just melts in ur mouth.
Really hope they keep up the good work. So wishing all the best to the staff and management. Would recommend others to visit.
As its a newly opened restaurant near hazra crossing was a bit apprehensive to enter but must say it was a very nice experience...The decor is simple with adequete space and comfortable seating arrangements. The hospitality of the staff there was couteous which i appreciate very much.
Coming to the food liked the fish fry very much and the ilish bhape was absolutely delicious.
But i would recommend some more items in dessert like icecream.
Overall the place is highly recommended..
Good food and good ambience. Staffs are well mannerd. Have tasted almost each and every item. The kasha mangsho as well as the aam pora sharbat is the best.
