Located on the 3rd floor of Diamond Plaza Mall near food court. It has a typical North Indian restaurant with a model of tractor right inside entrance. Good ambience. Tasty food. Prices are reasonable. But no alcoholic beverages served here. Decor is good. Service is little slow. Though the servers try to look to very quick and alert but in fact they don't care for the table they have served. You need to catch their eyes or call them. Overall good experience. Cost for two about Rs 600.

What's it about? RDB has a yellow coloured interiors which are well complemented by the décor wherein cutlery spoon fork and bottles have been used as lamp shades. Besides, simple hardwood furniture with phulkari cushions goes well with the dhaba concept of this restaurant. A life-size tractor placed right at the entrance gives a unique twist to the décor of the place. Rang De Basanti Dhaba, has become quite popular and is frequented by many. Kurkure Bhindi - A very loved North Indian veggie snack, this tasty, spicy and crispy Bhindi (Okra) lightly coated and marinated in a mixture of Besan (Gram Flour) and Indian spices make you fall for it all the more. I couldn't have had enough of it.
Hari Mirch Chiken Tikka - All those who boast hogging on spicy dishes, I bet ,you should try this. The after effect of green chillies, is hot and spicy. The aromatic flavours of a myriad of spices and chillies is what you look forward in the fried chicken pieces sautéed with ginger-garlic paste, onion, curd, lemon pickle and a host of spices. Add a dash of lemon juice to bring about the tanginess to the chicken while the curd and cream gives a creamy and rich look to the dish. It is served with a generous garnishing of coriander leaves and green chillies.

The best part of India being such a diversified country definitely has to do something with its food. With different regions having their own indigenous food, with ingredients locally sourced and then getting influenced by the gradual foreign entry and exists, there has been a phase when many of these specialized dishes got overlapped, and adopted by the other parts of this country in a way and direction they seem fit. With food and music being the universal binder of love, it isn’t that hard to make something our own and accept it wholeheartedly. The result being having neighbourly dishes with our own twist, so as to suit the tastebuds right for our palette.
A sudden roadtrip to elsewhere, perhaps across the highway, what feeds us best are the little roadside dhabas along the way. Also bringing us close to the Northern style of cooking, and dishes close to Delhi and Punjab, right up to our alley. It is often hard to contemplate what we love about the dhabas the most? Is it the rustic and carefree sitting or the mouthwatering dishes they cook up, with their own charm and adding flavours so hard to recreate inside the comforts of our house? While hygiene can be a question mark for many, these are the times when places like Rang De Basanti Dhaba helps us to satiate our favourite dishes within a fine-dining ambiance.
A quick visit to their outlets inside the Diamond Plaza Mall help us get nostalgic and experience the age-old flavours we were so craving for, some quick temperature checks at the entry of the mall and the restaurant, being accompanied with due sanitization process. The restaurant earmarked the sitting positions for everyone, while maintaining the required distance to be maintained among each other. We started off with a Kurkure Bhindi, which had finely chopped bhindi, perhaps air roasted to minute perfection. It had almost nil traces of oil, but definitely carried the crunch and crisp, you would expect from anything of its sort, much like mimicking a chip.
Next came a luscious and mouth-melting Chicken Kebab, perfectly marinated with a rich green chilli paste. The chicken cubes were soft and succulent, and we had no trouble to gulp each one of those portions straight into our mouth. With every single bite leaving a zing of the green chillies, the subtlety of this preparation will clearly blow anyone’s mind off. Moving on to the maincourse, we paired up a good old Butter Chicken with Lachcha Paratha, Plain Naan, Butter Naan and a Tawa Chicken Biryani. Butter Chicken, hailing all the way down from the alleys of Delhi, has definitely been one of those dishes, which has grown up on us.
This version, definitely creamy and buttery, had the addition of perhaps slit green chillies, which again made us feel a slight kick with every bite we took. The Lachcha Parathas weren’t oily, but were rather baked in tandoor, pairing perfectly with the juicy chicken portions. The Tawa Chicken Biryani, was more of a Pulao, something which I have come across the lanes at Hazratganj in Lucknow. The rice and the other ingredients are tossed over a tawa, with the masalas being more prominent in nature than we are used to in our quintessential Kolkata Style Biryani. A perfect mix of sweet, crisp, creamy and spicy flavours, all amalgamating onto a single bite, our evening couldn’t have got any better.
A sweet end to our meal with the in-house Phirni, the flavours from the Kebabs and Butter Chicken made me crave for even more, perhaps overpowering the delicate intricacies of the Phirni. With everything slowly leading to normal, I cannot wait to go back again and try those familiar flavours all over again.

Recently I tried this dhaba. The food was excellent. I had chicken reshmi kebab, chicken bharta, kulcha. It was a dinner for two, so great , and didnot burn a hole in the pocket.
Gone in for a quick lunch on a day where I like to maintain vegetarian food but ended up having a proper meal. The dahi kebab was brilliant along with the paneer makhani. However the kulcha could have been better. All in all a great place.
The Punjab is famous for their dhaba culture and the dhaba foods. In bengalis dhaba foods are very popular.. so there is the place based totally on a Desi Punjabi dhaba. The ambience is totally very Desi. The foods are very yummy also. Like:
1. Anda Bhurji Bun: is one of the best dishes from this place. The buttery bun with the yummy anda Bhurji was a fantastic combination.
2. Paneer Paratha: This paratha Is the complete meal for a person. The paneer stuffing of the paratha was very tasty.
3. Piyazi Bun: The taste of the piyazi inside the bun was very unique and and tasty.
4. Chole Bhatore: I had many chole bhatorees but this chore bhatoore was very yummy and perfect for one person.
5. Bun Omlette: this bun Omlette was very tasty and I will definitely like it as my breakfast with their 6.CUTTING CHAI ( HIGH RECOMMEND)

Every once in a while we all rejoice our desipan and to fulfill that temptation this place offers you such vibes, so that you can cherish your desiness. Starting from the utensils to ambience and their dishes, everything has a good mixture of taste and desipan.
We ordered chicken tikka, butter naan, dilli da butter chicken, paneer makkhani and for drinks we had masala chanch and lassi.

Rang De Basanti presents Soup , saag, Sardi festival in this winter. During this christmas and new year you can have some amazing North Indian winter food of indian at all the outlets of Rang De Basanti Dhaba in kolkata.
A few days back I was at their Diamond Plaza outlet to try that out. The interior decoration and the seating arrangement of this outlet is quite good and spacious. Coming to the food we had from their winter menu :-
Shorbas :- We had total 4 types of shorbas ( 2 veg and 2 non veg).
From Veg shorbas we had Tamatar Dhania naga chili shorba which had a taste of south indian masala too, on the top of that it also little bit spicy. On the other hand the palak shorba has the real taste of palak and a little bit sweet.
Coming to the non veg shorba, we had paya shiri shorba which was made with mutton paya with an awesome taste and dhaba murg shorba which was exactly like indian chicken curry taste with a little difference.
All the shorbas were served with garlic naan.
After this we had the famous sarson ka saag and makke di roti. Thus was pure bliss. Perfect taste awesome presentation. Coming to the price it is affordable and quality of the food is too good and perfect for winter. Do visit here to taste some wonderful winter special cuisines.

I visited the Diamond Plaza outlet and tried the winter menu. It had Shorbas, Sarson Da Saag with Makke di Roti and others. They also have a new menu also has a variety of Mughlai dishes - Peri Peri Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Momos and others.
The shorbas were light and flavourful. The Tamatar Dhania Shorba and Dhaba Murgh Shorba were my favorite. The Sarso ka Saag was brilliant and was perfectly paired with the Makke di Roti.
The Paneer Tawa Biryani was great and went well with the Chicken Palang Tod and Dhaba Mutton Curry. The chicken was amazing. To end it, I had the Gajar ka Halwa cooked in desi ghee. It is a perfect dessert for this winter.
The new menu is definitely worth a try.

I had gone here to try their new winter special menu. Much to my astonishment i loved their shorbas. I had never tried this particular dish in my life. Shorbas are so absolutely delicious i had tried to varieties the murgh shorba and the paneer shorba. Since we were a bunch of people it was easy to share and eat.
For starters we had chicken peri peri tikka - it was absolutely delicious. The chicken pieces were soft and so crunchy filled with masalas.
Next we had the tandoori veg momo - this was so soft and again inspite of being a veg item i loved it.
Moving to the main course we had the very famous makai di roti and sarson da sang - this along with butter and gur can beat any strong non veg dish. I absolutely fell in love with this combination.
But since we love non veg we also gorged on chicken palang tod along with paneer biryani and mutton curry dhaba style. Not a mutton lover but the dish was good. The chicken and the Biryani i liked the most. Ended the sumptuous meal with my favourite winter sweet dish - gajar ka halwa. Coming here back soon!

Regarding ambience it's definitely beautiful with photo frames of crispy taglines, lights made with flowering pots, serving plates with friendly staffs and a tractor to get the feel of any roadside dhaba. Last time we ordered mutton seekh kebab, chicken tikka kebab and fresh lime soda. The foods was really awesome and tasted delicious. But on the other side if the menu would have contained a few more non-veg starter items it would have been a top notch.
This restaurant serve quite good Punjabi dhaba style food...but most of dishes from the menu are not available most of the times. The starters are really good here. The main course is satisfactory.

The place is quite good,with nice decor..food quality and quantity both are reasonable..they also serve alcohol...which is a plus...nice place to chill with friends and family

The place is not big but very congested. Ambience is quite good( 9/10⭐)I like the decorations,the punjabi feelings⭐⭐. Food is ok ok (7/10⭐). Service is also good (8/10⭐)

This is at the 5th floor of Star Mall, Madhyamgram. Star Mall is around 500m from Madhyamgram Chowmatha(crossing). The interior is nice, like all other RDBD outlets, the Tractor is also present inside! You'll get to see some cheesy taglines at every wall.
They serve really tasty food at a very reasonable pricing. Authentic Punjabi food is a must try here, though they've included some Chinese dishes lately. Alcohol is also served. We ordered Chicken Lehsuni Tikka & Chilli Paneer Chinjabi from starters, both were good. Tandoori Makkhan Roti, Chicken Keema Kulcha were tasty but the size of the Rotis were smaller. Kadhai Chicken & Paneer Bhurji Masala also turned out good. Chicken Fried Rice and Highway Chilli Chicken were the items from the Chinese segment but only a con is the quantity of the Fried Rice.
Overall a nice budget friendly family restaurant, the taste of the food also gets a positive remark. But the quantity of some of the food items is strangely less.

Few days back I visited RDBD located at 5th floor of Star Mall, Madhyamgram. The ambiance was creative and decorated with utenlis, lights and cosy furniture.

I had a great, cosy experience, with pretty ambiance & 80's/90's song.
The food was no dout awesome. The staff were too humble, that they make feel like home. Recommended there best main course the show's topper Champaran Meat which was too delicious and meat were juicy & succulent. They had a couple of choice for banta(soda) to in different way, I liked it.

Food quality is good.but have tasted in other Rang De Basanti outlets...so it could have been much better compared to other outlets.
Quantity very low compared to price. I went on Durga Puja time. We had briyani.
In the picture I posted you will see the quantity don't get confused by the size the picture is taken with Zoom effect.
The quantity I repeat is very less compared to price.
Ambience is awesome.
RDBD Star Mall is one of the most happening Dhaba in Kolkata. The place serves you the authentic Desi / Traditional foods both veg and nonveg.
Let's come to the quality of the food. Well the dishes were really good. The taste of the soya chanp was really good and well balanced. We were served with the new upcoming recipes.

Known for the delectable North Indian food Rang de basanti dhaba, Star Mall is now a perfect place to booze! They have introduced some special items to accompany with drinks like Tandoori Chicken chat, chilli paneer chinjabi which were lip smacking. Apart from this, tried out Matka biryani, handi chicken which were amazing as always!
The food here is really good... specially come here to eat chicken bharta... the ambience is almost same as a roadside dhaba.. there are lots of graffiti and bollywood one liners written over the walls.. there are available options in cocktails from the bar..love the variety in kababs...Overall service is nice, highly recommend for fam jams.
The food tastes very delicious,,I got the best and juiciest tandoori here..chicken pyare kabab highly recommend 👌
