We Took Normal Mutton Biryani, Kachi Mutton Biryani,Chicken Chap and Phirni
Mutton Biryani was light and tasty.
Kachi Biryani was masladar and tasty too, I loved it...
Chap was average, the size of chicken was too big..
Overall a good tasty dinner we had..
Exquisite Flavors at Shimla Biryani..
A restaurant that beautifully captures the essence of Mughlai cuisine. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was transported to a world of regal opulence and tantalizing aromas. The experience was nothing short of extraordinary, earning the restaurant my highest accolades.
Looking for a affordable place to eat authentic Kolkata Biryani? Shimla Biriyani is the answer.
😋We tried: Chicken Reshmi Kebab
Mutton Boti Kebab
Mutton Biriyani
Chicken Tikka Butter Masala
❤️Experience: All the items were really tasty and value for money but the mutton Boti kebab was exceptional. As for the biriyani, it was light and flavorful the mutton pieces were juicy and soft, and the aloos were the hero 😂.
💰Pocket Pinch: 800 for two.
😍Must Try: Mutton Boti Kebab, Biriyani

Good one.
If Arsalan is 10 on 10 then this is 8.5-9 out of 10.
A bit lighter than Arsalan , less spicy a little less flavorful.
Amazing place for dine in .
I ate Egg Biryani
The food quality was amazing .
For the price of 155 , the food was good also the place was amazing ,
If u r with ur family you can definitely go here and eat.
You can get chicken biryani for 195 (But overpriced ) but the quantity served is mind blowing , it's a full plate (really full) .
I will recommend you to go here , it's near science City ! Walk of 15 mins will bring you here !
Loved it. The dishes were tasty and service was quick. Nice experience.
Shimla Biryani House brings you the best cuisine with good quality and quantity.
The Indian Mughlai and Chinese dishes are fingerlicking good.
The restaurant is spacious and the interior are welcoming.
The staff are customer friendly and service oriented.
One can eat and enjoy the best food at a great price with good service on the By-pass all thanks to Shimla Biryani House.
The ambiance is simple and comfortable. Though we wanted the to sit on the first floor, but it was unavailable at that time.
We order Chicken tandoori (full) , priced ₹400. The tandoor was quite dry but tastes pretty good. The pudina chutney served was disappointing to me. It felt green food colour was mixed with curd and served.
A beautiful looking fine dining restaurant with some tasty Mughlai Food.
From their juicy and tender starters such as Tandoori, Cheese kabab and Paneer kababs and Pomfret fries to the amazing Biryani which is not less than Arsalan if u believe me. The Main courses are also quite delicious and those various forms of breads complement the mains very well.
Ending it Firni is always a great feeling altogether.
Recently visited Shimla Biryani and had a takeaway of mutton biryani. The ambience was nice and quaint.
The food tasted amazing and was just fulfilling.
Am attaching the menu below, you can order yourself a great meal too.
We can’t resist biryani and this has to be one of the finest places for North Indian food with a pocket friendly menu and a very pleasing ambience. The place is located near VIP bazaar(near Ruby Hospital) and can be easily located from the main road!
The items we had ordered:
-Chicken reshmi kebab
-Chicken tikka butter masala
-Chicken biryani
The food here is amazing, specially the kebabs. We were satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. The staff were very helpful and cooperative so overall we’d an amazing experience here! Would recommend everyone to pay a visit for some amazing mughlai delicacies!

Dear biryani lovers, SHIMLA BIRYANI is one of the best restaurants in Kolkata, when it comes to mughal foods.
Serving different types of Biryani, like Zafrani biryani, Mutton kacchi Biryani, Handi Biryani & many more along with mouth watering kebabs.
The ambience in first floor is decorated beautifully with lights and chandelier along with white tables & chairs. The ground floor is decorated with different colouring lights. They have a seating capacity of 100+.
The first floor offers beautiful view of Kolkata so if you visit here for the first time then opt for the first floor.
The food I tried for my recent visit are:
Starters :
Fish Malai Tikka: ₹350
Paneer Barbeque: ₹220
Main Course:
Mutton Kacchi Biryani: ₹300
Murgh Lajawab: ₹265
Mixed Chilli Garlic Noodle: ₹230
Chicken Hot Garlic Gravy: ₹240
Kabuli Naan : ₹90
Desert:
Gulab Jamun : ₹50 (2 PCS)
Mocktail:
Which one is mine : ₹160
Lichi Slingh Delight : ₹140
Mutton kacchi biryani is a little more spiced up as compared to normal kolkata style biryani.
The mutton pieces were soft & juicy & what I liked even more is that the aloo was perfectly cooked.
All the above mentioned dishes are equally good.
📍Location: VIP Bazaar, EM Byapass, kolkata, West Bengal 700046
Opens at 11am.
Recently I visited Shimla Biryani and tasted fea of their dishes. I had the Peshawari Paneer Tikka and Shimla Galouti Kebab for starters. Both of the items were quite good. Then for the main course, I had Cheese Naan with Veg Jhal Frazie and Rajasthani Laal Maans. The Naan was very delicious with a cheesy and garlic flavor. The side dishes were also quite good. The Mutton Kacchi Biryani anf Special Keema Biryani was also good and prepared in authentic Kacchi style. Lastly, I had Firni for dessert which had kesar in it.
Prominent location
Great list of Mughlai food (including fish & Mutton)
Awesome Biryani (probably one of the best in Calcutta)
Decent service (although service folks need to improve a lot)
No alcohol served
Home delivery available
Please try their mutton pasinda ( a very specialised boneless mutton dish with rich aroma; comes with little gravy); so a great stuff with roti/naan etc
One of the finest restaurant in Kolkata in terms of food cost to food quantity ratio as well as the ambiance. Situated on the E.M.Bypass it has a good accessibility as well as a good parking spot for 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler just n front of the restaurant. The staffs are well responsive and courteous. Although the food takes a little bit of time to get served after you have placed your order, you have to remember that all good things takes its own sweet little time to come. We have taken Chicken Malai Kebab as starter, Chicken Biriyani and Chicken Lababdar as main course and the orange mocktail I cannot actually remember its name although I still can recall its tangy-sweet taste and that what matters me the most. Overall it costed us around Rs.1100-1200 which i think is reasonable based on the food quality, quantity and ambiance. And one little suggestion from my part, if you cannot decide what to eat after seeing the menu, leave that responsibility over the waiter or floor manager who will suggest you most appropriate food of your taste for you, you just need to convey your food taste to him, and leave behind "OMG...!!! What will others think if I cannot order from the menu card..??!!" feeling behind and enjoy your food.
