It is located at walking distance of 7-10 minutes from Basanti Devi College. I went to this place with two of my friends and we had ordered Shirin Pulao, Moti Pulao and Mutton Baghdadi. We asked one of their waiters to recommend their special items and they helped us with it. The food was very palatable.Their Moti Pulao with meat balls is one of the best rice preparations I have ever had. I would also recommend their Mutton Baghdadi as it has the good blend of the spices according to me. The people working in that place are very generous. Over all it was a good experience.
Dera is located beside Indian Silk House or to be more remarkable beside Citi Style. Dera was a very overwhelming place and dishes from this place is little different as these are Afghan Speciality dishes. Staffs were quite courteous and well behaved they even suggested their popular items.It offers a huge seating capacity.

Another afghan food outlet in south Kolkata near gariahat. This is the nice place to hangout with friends. The dishes are nicely presented and served in generous proportions. The staffs are helpful enough to assist you with good suggestions.

Yet another unique and significant addition to the varied culinary map of Kolkata.. Though we have Kaafila in City Centre, but South Kolkata lacked an authentic Afghani cuisine restaurant.. Deraa hopes to fill up that void.. Nothing extraordinary about the décor, simple and elegant with a few hand-woven carpets and paintings adding to the theme of this place.. Seating was comfortable with spacious sofas and since we went for an early lunch it was mostly vacant throughout.. Servers were attentive, well behaved, although they seemed a bit inexperienced as they goofed up with one of our orders but apologized duly on being notified.. The food we tasted:
Hara Aam Sharbat: Refreshing, but a bit too sweet for my personal preference.. Also I felt they made it a bit more syrupy lacking natural flavors..
Chupa Rustam: An unique kebab to start with.. Chicken Seekh Kebab wrapped with mined mutton.. Loved the seasoning and the expert blending of the two meats..
Mahi Zaffrani Kebab: Another flawless dish, sublime in flavor, strong presence of saffron coupled with the freshness of river Bhetki.. Charred to perfection retaining the original flavor of the fish itself..
Murgh Zafrani Kebab: This is where they goofed up as we ordered Peshawari Kebab actually.. Similar in taste but the seasoning was more flavorful being on chicken and the meat was soft and juicy..
Mutton Kabuli Pulao: The highlight dish of the entire meal.. A signature dish fresh from Kabul, where rice is slow cooked with mutton balls and Afghani spices.. On top it is finished with Mutton Keema.. Bursting with flavors and long grain rice.. Passionately Recommended..
Murgh Tangri Pulao: Similar preparation using Chicken Drums and middle eastern spices.. This one was good too but tasted more like Biryani..
Gosht Banjara: Ordered on server’s recommendation.. This one was the real deal, spicy, hot and full of rich gravy and complex assortment of spices.. Tasted too yummy and the mutton was tender..
Gosht Pashtuni: Another Afghan delicacy cooked with extreme care and authenticity.. This one was also extremely spicy and oily, with the addition of scrambled eggs on top.. Goes well with the Pulao..
Love E Mashooq: A variant of t Shahi Tukda, with the unique heart shaped fried bread topped with cherry rings.. Extremely tasteful, the Kheer was thick and creamy with a strong presence of saffron..
Overall, I felt this place excel in parts, however need to be a bit more professionally managed and bring in more consistency in the dishes served overall.. Some dishes were stand apart while others pretty mediocre.. Our total cheque was Rs. 3340/- (all incl.) for 4 people..

I went to this place with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday. It has decent decor and the staff was also quite attentive and polite but the service was quite slow. When we went there the restaurant was not even crowded, only one other table was occupied but still they took quite a lot of time to serve our food.
In terms of food I have mixed opinions. I liked the most of it but some were not that great. The gravies were not that special and had too much oil in it. But the breads and the rice that we ordered were really toothsome. We tried the barbari Irani, afgani naan, yakhni pulao and one other rice varient but it's name I cannot recall at this moment. All the dishes tasted brilliant and the kababs were nice too.... Specially the mahi kabab. We also ordered kulfi for dessert and that too was quite good.... Nothing extraordinary but sufficiently good. If i had not tasted the gravy dishes I would have given it a 5 star instead of 4.
Pashtuni kebab was just mind blowing. It's made with some different types of spices and the texture, smell and look is too tempting.
Kesar Malai Kulfi was just yummy.
You should try these at least.
It was in my wishlist for a long time, finally got a chance to visit this place with my parents on bengali new year for lunch.
located just beside of the city style, there is a parking area on the main road just infront of this restraunt. well decorated , quite spacious.
we ordered zafrani kabaab in the starter and it was really good. in the main course there was saffron polao, sahi paneer, nihari gosht and tandoori naan. the naan was so good, soft and served hot. nihari was not upto the mark. it was just like normal mutton curry with no smell of mutton!!!
in the desert item we placed the order of gulab jamun with rabdi and hara aam ka sarbaat. both of them were yumm!!!
overall a good lunch we had on that day. the only suggestion which i can recommend is that, play some good soft music, it can creat a good mood, there was no music playing that day and due to the chaos of other people it was destroying our lunch pleasure.

Another of the Afghan food wala outlet of South Kolkata located near Gariahat. Went there on Poila boisakh and as you'll expect,had to wait for 25min before getting in.
Food(3.5/5)- Personally, searching about this resturant in Zomato and reading previous reviews, I was a tad dissapointed. We had lasooni Kabab for starters which was a bit salty and lacked the Lasooni flavour...pretty average I would say. Was going to try Chupa Rustom kabab(a lot was written about this in reviews) but unfortunately all mutton kababs were finished. Also biriyani was not available,which was dissapointing for my sister. We ordered chicken Kabuli Polao but was instead given Mutton kabuli polao(agreed the hotel was full,but still..pretty casual approach and bad mistake). Anyway Kabuli polao was very good...so was the Mutton side dish(forgot name) which was recommended to us by the waiter. Also fresh lime Soda was refreshing. The Cheese nun had very little cheese and hence dissapointing.
So apart from the 2 main courses, other food items were average.
Ambience (4/5): Although looked small and shabby from outside..this place had an afghani feel with Afghani carpets&rugs hanging from walls and some unique designs on the wall. So,nice ambience I would say.
Service (3/5): Taking into consideration that the hotel was full and that,they had to serve a lot of customers,still I would say that the service wasn't that good. Had to call them twice/thrice to take orders/refill glasses and also food took more than 25min to come. Also the error in Kabuli polao as I mentioned. Huge scope of improvement here I feel.
Value for money (3.5/5)- The starters cost 350 for 6 pieces..and I felt it wasn't worth it at all for the quality mainly. The main courses had decent quantity and okayish in taste so..main course had good value for money. Fresh lime Soda was Rs90 which I again felt was a bit overpriced.
Would perhaps visit this place again,if they improved a little on their quality of food or bring down their rates. And yes,would expect better service too next time :)
Visited the restaurant for a family dinner, and it turn out to be a great experience, the ambience was quiet and peaceful, a menu with a difference , the quality of food was fantastic, and the breads were amazing... however the dessert menu could have been better and the nehari recipe needs to be worked,, rest all was just five 🌟
Today i went to Deraa and i just loved its food... its just toooooo tasty.... prices r justifiable.... ambience is very good as well....they prepare afgani dishes... so if u want to have a glimpse of afgani dishes this is d place u have to come to....

i had an unplanned visit over here and the dinner ended up with a beautiful experience..we have tried fish zaffrani kabab which was so so..but later on in the main course section they served realy supertasty items.mutton bagdadi was just awsm.mutton pieces were good.laccha paratha ,tandoori rooti was as expected..at the end we hv ordered hot gulabjamun where arnd 20-30 small hot gulabjamun was served with rabri/khir over it and it was amazing .

Another authentic afghani restaurant.Located in a very convenient place.7-8 feets away,towards Gariahat side from city style(triangular park).And as we entered I felt dull and uninteresting. Because music was not there. It was afternoon time around 12.30.So when we were talking among ourselves our voices were echoing.The decoration was minimal.So what I mean to say is that ambiance wise this place may not be appealing to you.Now lets's come to food.We ordered Murg Lasooni Kebab for starter and for mains we ordered Naan, Kabuli pulao.For gravy we ordered Mutton bhagdadi but we were informed that it was not available. I think it is one of their popular dish, so its unavailability made us sad...Instead we were served Gosht Banjara. And the dish made us instantly happy.And we also ordered Murg Pashtuni. They taste good. Staffs were in a afghan attire and were helpful. Worth a visit.

About the Food:- Dishes are really well prepared. We took various kebabs first. They are well served and each one of them is testy. For the main course we took tandoori roti and butter nuns. Along with some mutton’s gravy items. Overall very much satisfied.
About the Place:- Overall good. Not so much cozy and well decorated like Oudh but still descent. Cleanliness is good. The staffs are friendly. Overall nice experience. Prices of the dishes are on a higher side.
FYI. I would like to give them 4.5 but updated Zomato app was not helping.

Cheese nun was absolutely bliss. It was just Perfectly cooked, with the perfect crisp and the yumminess of cheese !
Kabuli pulao offers 2 pieces of mutton, with a generous quantity of rice, and the taste was also good.
Mutton rogan josh tasted delicious and complemented well with both nun and pulao.
They also provide complementary pickles and onion as salad.

Went to this place with friends... Ambience and decoration was very good. Waiters were very courteous.. we ordered zafrani murgh kabab and pushtani kabab in starters. Kabuli pulao(mutton) and yakhni pulao in main course.. as a side dish we ordered mutton bagdadi and murgh pastuni.. among all these the best items were pastuni kabab and yakhni pulao.. mutton cubes in the pulao will just melt in your mouth, giving you the feeling that you are tasting the stars. Mutton bagdadi was little bit spicy and the gravy was made up of mutton keema, making the dish extremely tasty.. Price was 2500 in total for 3 of us.. the best place to satisfy your afgan dish cravings...

Definitely a great cozy place to fill ur tummy...the ambience is very nice.. The place is a very soothing atmosphere... Friendly staff... We tried out the hyped cheese nun but it disappointed me.. I had higher expectations from it..that is why 3 stars..the name of the chicken dish I don't remember but it tasted good.. The starter was the best.. We had these cheesy kebabs which were mouthwatering.. A special mention.. The sweet achaar that they serve Is a must try.. I loved that 😍

2)pashtuni kebab- this is their signature mutton dish, but personally i didnt like it very much. The mutton was very soft and very good quality,but this preparation is with a lot of spices. (1 and half plt)
3)lasooni kebab- didnt like the taste of this maybe because it had very less salt but i didn't like it atall.(1 plt )
4)kabuli pulao- again a MUST for everyone, this was a lipsmaking dish and we didnt even need a side dish with this .(1plt)

Though not a huge place, they have very efficiently used their space to make this place a family friendly one. Special mention goes to their Kabuli Pulao(Mutton). The dishes were nicely presented and served in generous proportions. The staff were helpful enough to assist us with suggestions. Would love to come back to try out their other dishes.

This place was on my bucket list for quite some time and finally went there for a lunch with friends... Easy to locate, decent ambience, helpful staff are some of the obvious plus points... But the food is an outright winner... If you are looking for a sumptuous meal comprising of the finest Afghan delicacies, head to this place right now...
For starters, we ordered Zaffrani Chicken Kebab which had huge chicken pieces and was decent in taste, Mutton Boti Kebab which was sort of mashed mutton and was good enough and the Chhupa Rustam Kebab which as the name suggests has chicken tucked in neatly between mutton sheath and is a must have here...
For the mains, we ordered the Kabuli Mutton Pulao family platter... We were a group of six but we struggled to finish the entire plate which speaks of the quantity on offer... Coming to quality, I am a die hard Biryani lover, but this Pulao can give any good Biryani a decent run for its money... It was ethereal in taste and is an absolute must have just for the magnificent aroma and fine blend of spices... The mutton pieces within were tender as well... We also had Gosht Banjara and Nihari Gosht as sides and these dishes were neatly delivered as well just to enhance the overall Pulao experience...
If you still have room for more, do try their Gulab Jamun with Rabri and the Firni... Nothing uniquely Afghani about these but will ensure a sweet ending...
This place could do with some beer servings as beer could aid easy wash down of some of the heavy dishes on offer but all in all it was a fantastic experience... Not to mention the prices are pretty reasonable for the quantities they serve...

Visited this place on a Sat night for dinner to attend the bday celebration of my friend.
We ordered chicken lasuni kebab in the starter which tasted very delicious and fresh too and i like the garnish with the little flame on the top of kebab. For the main course the staffs came down with huge quantity of mutton polao (which serves at least 5 people) . Mutton just melted into the mouth and spicy polao rice tasted very good. Polao was served with small mutton moti kebabs.
Visited for my parents anniversary today....calm and quite place, though windows overlooking the busy street....food quality is good, quantity more than sufficient....kabuli pulao is the best!!!
One observation....it was too quite for a Friday evening (we are the only visitor this evening)...a bit worried about its future....would love to visit the “Deraa” again!!!

Before reviewing this place I wanted to wait a while till my second time. This is my second visit to place just to see how the quality of the food is maintained.
I ordered
1. Chupa Rustam

Well the quality has gone down in the past months compared to the time it was opened.
1. Chupa Rustam was as dry as it could get. Also it was defrosted. This was clear from the taste and spongy chewy texture.
2. Roti nd nun was hot. THANK GOD!!
3. The Tikka was also not completely fresh. It had a defrosting taste to it. The gravy was great.
4. The pulao was OK. Not much to say.
5. The Kulfi was a COMPLETE waste of money as ypu can get better taste for half the price.
Sorry. But I had high expectations compared to the last time. It wasn't anywhere upto the mark.
O one last thing. I understand the servers needs to be attentive towards their customers. Which they were. But when all 4 or 5 of the staff constantly stare at you. Eating becomes difficult. Me and my wife both have noticed this during out 45mins meal on MULTIPLE occasions. Its creepy and not welcoming. Its the first time I had to write this in a review as it was toooo uncomfortable.

We had ordered chupa rustom for starter, a innovative dish which left us speechless literally. Chicken keema inside and the outsider filling was of mutton.. what else do you need!! 😍😍
For main course we had Kabuli Polao, Afgan naan and chicken .. we were stunned when we saw the size of the naan that arrived in our plate.. it was like giant's food!!! 😂😂😂 so for two of us, taking both the naan and polao was too tough to finish .🙈

Ordered Murg Lasuni kebab in starters.I have never seen such huge pieces of kebab before.It was juicy and one could not have more than two pieces if you are to try some other main course dishes as well. 5 on 5 to lasuni kebab.
Coming to main course, we had ordered kabuli polao chicken and Nihari Gosht.
The polao would serve 3 people.It had 2 pieces of medium sized chicken, minced mutton balls, kabula chana in it, which gave a different taste altogether.5 on 5 to polao as well.
The Nihari Gosht tasted wonderful.Being a mutton lover I loved it the most.5 on 5 to it as well.
The lunch on 69th Republic Day of India was remarkable.
Would suggest everyone to treat their taste buds with their antique dishes.

Visited in the evening yesterday. Surprised and pleased to find it completely empty. Got the undivided attention of the servers, lol. My friend and I had Chupa Rustam kebabs: chicken seekh kebabs wrapped with mutton mince and chicken Kabuli Pulao. The kebabs were a tad dry, but the pulao was very good. Loved the green chutney that accompanied the kebabs.
Not as good as actual Afghani food, but good enough to make me want to revisit. ☺️☺️☺️
Also, maybe the price is a bit on the higher side.
P.S. - really wanted to have the Galauti kebab, but they didn't have it. Very bad, in my opinion. I know it takes a lot of prep and the restaurant will incur losses unless there's demand, but how will there be demand unless a good number of people can sample and recommend it?

Awesome food and ambience ..Authentic afgani food and fast service are their usp. We ordered Kabuli Polao (Mutton) and chicken tikka masala as side dish . Ohhhh..ahh.. Polao taste ,I still can feel it.. awesome but price is on little higher side.

Located on Rashbehari Avenue, this place serves Afghan food. We had a Badam Shake ,Chicken Tandoori (half plate is enough for two), two Tandoori Rotis , Mutton Pashtuni , Raita and ended on a sweet note with Nolen Gur Kulfi. The quantity was enormous. The service is very good.
Simply one word to describe this place and that is SUPERB. Yakhni Pulao and Gushtaba are a must try.Rates may be a bit high but it is all worth the tasty food
A good place with a nice ambience and pleasant customer service. However the thing that keeps this place on the downside is that they do not accept cards. Atleast when i visited they didnt. Food quality is quite good. We tried the biriyani and it was quite good. In the dessert section try the kulfi. It is quite good and has the creamy texture that you do not find quite often. The chicken preparation that we had was however a little dry in the mouth.
We ordered Mahi Zaffrani Kebab, Cheese Naan, Butter Naan and Ghost Banjara. They all tasted good, the Cheese Naan deserving special mention. The mutton, however, could have been more tender. The French lime soda was also prepared well. The staff was courteous and offered suggestions willingly. The only inconvenience we ran into was the fact that they accepted only cash payment.
Must say the food here was damn good... I have been here only once but will visit it soon as it has left a mark in my taste buds since then... I was there during durga puja this year with my friends... As u know its hard to get a table during the festivities in our city but we were soon offered a table... We ordered two varieties of kebab's and my god both were awsome... Like they were melting in my mouth... So we ordered them yet again... Then we had some pulao its a specialty of the place... They were no less... Then we had Tikka butter masala and reshmi butter masala... All the food were perfectly cooked... And at last we had Fhirni... Last we spoke to the owner... He said a new joint is comming very soon to salt lake.. We are waiting for that... Will visit again soon.. #Highly Recommended
Visited during durga pujo... with tired legs I didn't except much as it was heavy rush time! Well, waited 15-20 minutes outside, and once we got our turn, didn't take any risk to try any special dish or to experiment... Straight to BIRIYANI !! We had total 6/7 plates chicken+mutton biriyani and 2 other chicken dishes along with some butter rice. And believe me the package was pure blast! many resto fail to deliver their quality during festival time, but it surprised us. Thanks guys for good food.
The place is situated right in the heart of Kolkata. We went there during puja so they had selected menu to serve. We had Kabuli pulao, Chicken Bagdhadhi and Firni. The food was good, different and the meat balls in the pulao were very soft. The ambience is also quite nice.
In terms of location Dera The Afghan Rasoi is very easy to hop in to. The interiors are apt, but not top notch. We'hv ordered Murgh Lasooni kebab which satiated our taste and soul buds as well! We were two that day and opted for Kabuli Pulao (mutton) supported by Murgh Pastooni (a gravy side dish). Kabuli Pulao was good enough to fulfill our hunger, the quantity was satisfactory and the quality was worth enjoying! The Pastooni is a special mention, it's excuisit taste, just perfect blending of spices from Middle-East left us with a lingering rememeberance.
First I will start with the staff, very helpful and courteous!!!! Now the food. My friend has been regular to this place but mine was first time. The staff helped us choose the items. Starters consisted of Jhinga tandoori (pics below) I loved the way they served and the size of the prawn is really big. Then came in some Mutton Raan, they bought it for me to click pics as I was too excited to upload in my Instagram account. Post clicking Raan went inside to be cut in bite size and we simply loved it. Had another chicken kabab it was the cheese kabab but unlike other restaurants who serve cheese kabab Afghan Rasoi ‘s was light and melt in mouth. By this time we were 80% full for main course it was Afghan Pulao, some House mutton and we packed mutton biryani . Kulfi was equally good, nalen gur and kesar kulfi. Overall a very happy pleasant contented feeling !!!!!

This place is quite befitting in the area full of fabulous restaurants. Located just opposite of triangular park, the decor and ambience of the place is quite fantastic. Also what I like about the place is its size, its quite large and there's ample space for large or small groups. Coming to the food, we ordered Pastuni Kebab, which consists of two mutton rann pieces grilled to excellence. Then came Shirin Pulao(sweet) and Kabuli Pulao(spicy) along with Murgh Afghani Qorma and Raita. The Pulaos are so tasty that it doesn't require any side dish. The quantity is ample, 2 dishes can definitely be quite heavy for group of five. Also I found the place really pocket friendly as it doesn't charge GST as well. Overall a superb experience without burning a hole in the pocket. I would definitely recommend this place. Thumbs up
This small place with minimal decor and lot of warmth serves the best Afghani food that I've tasted till date. The pashtuni kebab started off with a shriek inside my mouth with the Kabuli Pulao coming up next with the phenomenal aroma and the meat cooked to perfection. The Gulab jamun with rabri is something that'll force me to pay often visits to this place. The service was astounding service is worth appraisal too 💥

Well this place is conveniently located just near Triangular park..This place gives you an afghani feel once you starting browsing the Menu..we had the zaffrani kebab and Chupa rustam for our starters..both were really good..the zaffrani kebab was my 1st time try and the kebab really taste different than our usual kebabs and somewhat more elegant..the chupa rustom was also a delight..the concept of mixing chicken and mutton in 1 kebab like this is innovative and has blended quite well..The kabuli pulao was liltle differnt being decked with small soft balls of mutton along with regular garnishings...The Gosht Baghdadi was very spicy and it teams perfectly with any bread of your choice..the gravy which was pure mutton keema makes it an heavy delicacy and at the same time it was among the best mutton prepartions that i have had so far..Coming back to other aspects the staff is courteous and helpful..the restaurant is presently accepting only cash which i feel is a con of this place..In a nutshell Deraa is worth a visit to have some sumptous afghani tastebud experience..
Deraa The Afghan Rasoi is a very good restuarant...the ambiance of the restuarant and the dressup of servrs is based on the culture of afghani...
The foods specially kebabs are awsm...its just melt out in our mouth...jucy...soft...just no words....out of 5 i am giving 5 on their foods....

Pujo means food to every bengali...and I am no different.Deraa was on my list from a long time and I finally fulfilled it on Saptami.Though they were not serving biriyani due to time issues but I am not complaining tasting the rest of the delicacies.First and foremost this joint is all about food so do not go by the decor.It is a simple decor with a seating arrangement for 50 people.The restaurant is located right on the street just a few blocks before Hatari so we did not struggle much for the location.
The food is mind blowing and an explosion in your mouth.Our orders included

4.naan - e- uzbeki
5.Gosht afghani korma

There are places which impress you and was the afghani korma with a white gravy and succulent juicy mutton pieces.Not being a fan of sweet naan i opted for the uzbeki naan which had butter naan sprinkled with nigella seeds.Team deraa-- you guys rock
Awesome food, specially the kebabs, just mouth-watering. Want to try biriyani next time. Pulao was very tasty. Its a great place to hangout with ur loved ones.
The kebabs are outstanding but the quantity of biriyani is very less. The food quality is excellent..the ambiance is good and its a nice place for family, friends and couples....
Went there during the pujas.. had to wait for almost 1 hour.. when finally we entered the actual wait begun.. the food took a long long time to reach out tables.. we wanted to order mutton which was not there.. so ordered special chicken murg biriyani along with murg marhaba.. for starters we had zaffrani kebab.. the kebab was okay.. marhaba was good too.. with shredded chicken peices.. it was nice.. but I didn't like the biriyani.. oh and yes.. we ordered for one biriyani and they brought us two plates..
Lastly the firni was the best thing that we had..
I believe had it not been during the pujas we would have done a better job....may be!!

Just one perfect place to have north indian... the name defines itself... the afghan rasoi . We tried it on the day of choturthi when they had their special puja menu, so tried their cheese nan, butter nun , chicken(name i have forgotten) which was very good.. overal place is very place ..thumbs up!!
Visited this place a month back . small cozy place with good interior and easily accessible location just beside citi styl. We ordered murg peshawari,galauti kabab, Kabuli pulao food was good in quantity, quality was I would say it can be better, but it was easy on my pocket so overall it was great experience. Quite an awesome mouth watering experience it was. Loved the taste of each item. Will definitely go again as it is very conveniently located and price is also very reasonable.
Royal decor with a touch of modern times for the comfort. The location is very easy to access from Rashbehari or Gariahat. The food tastes equally good as it looks. The spices are not at all heavy neither they make you too aware of them. A subtle touch of Afghan is present in every thing. We ordered zafrani kebab, big chunky succulent pieces of delicious chicken and Kabuli pulao consisting of mutton and slowly cooked rice but it is very different from Biriyani !! Deserves a try, if ever you're in a Mughlai Mood ! The drinks were refreshing and quietly filled out palate.

Only thing I found negative is the payment system.
Their card swiping machine is out of order. I hope it won't occur next time.

Prime location, attentive staffs, classy ambiance blended with finger licking food sums up this place. Prices are on a heavier side. But the dishes more or less justify the price tag. Ambiance is very mediocre. Service is decent. What makes up for everything is the food. The rice and mutton dishes are amazing. Though the quantity compared to the price is a bit less. Altogether a good experience.

This place has a rich essence of theAfghani cuisine.
This place is too good and simple. Carpets hanging down the wall, photographs from Afghanistan and wooden frame works are enough to create a simple look of the restaurant.
We ordered :
Zaffrani Kebab- it was mindblowing.
Kabuli Chicken Pulao was to die for. Beautiful essence of afghani spices. The chicken piece was large enough in the pulao,. Added to that there were meat balls in it. One bowl of pulao was more than sufficient for two. We couldn't finish off the bowl.
Murg Pashtuni was too delicious. It was topped with gravy scrambled eggs.
This place is highly recommended. Do visit it guys.

So guys here's my review about how this place was.
Firstly to go by decor,i would say it's a fine dining and decor.
The food that my family and I had ordered were
MOQABBALAAT(starter) as they say were Zaffrani Kebab and Murgh Peshawari, and the main course was
Kabuli pulao (chicken) family platter and 2 Mutton Rogan Josh (3pcs each).
Firstly to mention about the kebabs, they were really soft, more than what you'll expect and they tasted absolutely perfect.

Secondly about the Kabuli pulao,well don't really go by the name. The pulao not only has 7 chunks of chicken but also mutton meatballs and mutton Keema. Yes u read it right. One family platter is enough for a family of 6(all adults).
The mutton preparation was also very tasty and something that needs special attention is that , the mutton chunks were really really soft.
Lastly the badam kulfi, well it's not too sweet, but a has a pinch of salt in it.
I would rate this restaurant a 4.0 out of 5 but I being a student will always say that this is not at all a pocket friendly restaurant.

I have visited this restaurant with Poulami Dutta and also taken parcel from it. The restaurant is conveniently located. The food is too good.
First on the Decor and Ambience:
The interior has medium light, convenient to read and chat but not too bright. However the decor with the huge Afghani Carpet on a wall to the different photographs capturing Afghan essence justifies the name of the restaurant. Also the servers are dressed in Afghani attire sans the turbans which adds to the feel. The service is a bit slow but tolerable.
Now for the delicious food:
- Pashtuni Mutton Kabab. This is one of their signature dishes. Two huge mutton legs cooked with delicious spices leading to succulent heavenly dish.
- Kabuli veg pulao - I'm not a fan of veg pulao but this changed my mind. Cooked with some veggies and dry fruits leaves you feeling happy. Two us couldn't finish one bowl so if you eat moderately or have too many side dish, take one bowl for 3.
- Murg Lazeez Tikka - The chicken kebab pieces (4) were cooked in a smooth rich gravy. It was tasty yet not very heavy.
Overall a small restaurant with amazing food, one which I will definitely revisit in future. And recommend to all with a craving for afghan cuisine.
a family restaurant with good food, good ambience, good service & staff...the location is a plus point, between the shopping hub of South Kolkata, Gariahat & Triangular Park...nowadays there are only a few restaurants where you can actually take your family & they can feel comfortable there...this place not only satisfy the appetite with the quality & quantity of the food, but also with the ambience...

This is by far my best dining experience in Kolkata. Fully satisfied. The food is super amazing.

The food is great here. The kebab was melt in the mouth. The 'Chicken Baghdadi' had a mutton keema gravy, which was like having a 2 in 1 dish. The preparation was very flavourful and apart from that we had ordered butter naan and pineapple raita. Here are few pictures.
They have just renovated it recently ! The ambience is good I would say, but the food served here is just AWESOME !!! You will have to wait at least for 30 minutes after ordering the dishes, but the wait is worth it ! We had Murg zafrani as a starter. The chicken was so tender that you wont need any knife to chop it off. It will come off automatically. Then we had Sahi chicken pulao and Chicken bagdaadi. Only one word : BRILLIANT !!! You must visit this not so famous Afghani restaurant and I am damn sure that you will find reasons to visit this *dera* frequently ! 5/5 starts !!! 💓💓
The restaurant is located on the main road opposite of Triangular Park, next to N. G. Medicare. If you would like to try something different then you must visit this place either for lunch or dinner. Here you will get some good recipes. You will mainly get Afghanistan food over here. The place is not so big but well managed. The interior decor is good. The taste of the food is just awesome, you will really love it. I really love there Kabuli Pulao, which is just awesome in taste along with Chicken Bagdadi and Murgh Sharaba they both were awesome in taste. I don't like the taste of the soup which was Khandari Shourba. The prices are not so reasonable, it's bit on higher side but still overall it's a good. You can visit here with your family and friends. You will really love it.

Relatively a new entrant in the Mughlai restaurant scene in Kolkata, but it's almost like the wild card rookie player who gives a shocker to everyone, blasting away to glory. I withheld my review till I visited the joint a second time as well, just to make sure it's not a one time experience, but a general attitude of the place...
Eating at Deraa is an experience. It's not solely the food, or the ambiance, its an experience in total, almost like a good dish...it's Best when everything comes together. To start, let me rate the dishes I had in the two trips:

2. Yakhni Pulao - 4⭐️
3. Laccha Paratha - 4⭐️
4. Barbari Irani - 5⭐️
5. Murg Laziz Tikka (extra spicy on request) - 5⭐️

Now, eating at a restaurant, specially one that looks this posh, is not just about the food, and that's where these guys have nailed it. They make you feel welcome at the restaurant, not just as a customer, but as a guest. The courteous and polite service, along with the warm smiles had taken me aback in a weird way. You are made to feel nice, not just with the dishes, but also the overall experience. Just be prepared for a little slower than usual service, it is justified by the taste.
P.S. The prices in the menu are inclusive of taxes, so you get e decent idea of the budget without calculating the taxes on the total bill mentally.
Nice restaurant which serves food on the afghani backdrop... Lasooni kebabs are really good and so are the interiors but a major low is the service time...
We were there for lunch and the restaurant was almost empty yet they took half an hour to bring every item we ordered...
All in all should visit once for the taste of food.

Environment and food both are good. Price are reasonable.
We had good biryani- chicken and mutton here . The place was crowded and had a waiting period. The manager was courteous and arranged 3 seats for us, but in a table with other people! He asked before , of course and since it was quite a rush at 2230 hours at night, we agreed. But seating was tight. and it was a long wait for food.
Food however tasted good and we enjoyed it.
