TOO GOOD
Visited once with family to celebrate bijoya. Its budget friendly family resturant.Alu posto Bhetki macher paturi and lots more. And we ended with misti pan.Overall a great experience.
This review is solely based on the food delivered from "Sholoana Bangali" at Behala. We opted for jeera rice, chingri chocchori and kosha mangsho. Jeera rice was nicely made. Though the amount of jeera was on the higher side, it did sot spoil the preparation. Moreover, the use of whole green chillies in the rice added a nice aroma and made the dish quite 'hatke'. Chingri chocchori was made of different vegetables cooked to perfection with loads of prawns. According to my mother, this preparation reminded her about self-prepared item. Now, this is definitely a big complement for a Bengali dish as it is coming from a Bengali mom who spent a life-time with a passion of cooking. Kosha mangsho had pieces of mutton slow-cooked with Bengali spices. The meat was tender and the gravy was well seasoned. We loved it to the most. To sum it up, the food from Sholoana Bangali made our Sunday lunch a perfect one.
The best thing about this place is none other then their food. Its a bit pricy as compared to koshe kosha but you can give all your money up for the chingri macher malaikari. However they can improve their interior decoration.
They have authentic Bengali food. Very good variety of food!
I had chingri malai curry - 3/5
patra (leaf wrapped fish steamed in mustard) - very yum and different - 4/5
bhetki mach fried - superb! - 5/5
Nolen gurer ice cream - Never tasted anything better than this in my LIFE!!
Awesome place for all bangali items. The food is just too good. I didn't like the taste of prawn though. But still ill recommend it as a must visit. I'm loving it. My personal favourite is the kosha mangsho and the paturi
Went there recently for having lunch. This place is situated opposite to M.P Birla school in behala. The place has two floors. The ambience was okayish and the service was not that prompt. We ordered basmati rice and chicken kasha. The rice was good and the quantity was enough for two people. The chicken was very simple but tasty. I liked the place and would hope to visit again.
Went there for the asthomi thali with my parents. They are really hospitable and we totally liked the food. My dad is very delicate when it comes to Bengali cuisine and he liked the preparation here. Period. Will visit again.
Awesome food,Still licking my finger. We ordered special Mahabhoj thali,Every item is mouthwatering...one thing you can not consume everything in a single visit..
Sholoana Bengali has been my family's go to restaurant for Bengali Food anytime. I love the Non-Veg Thali which comes at a reasonable rate and covers a lot of dishes in one. I love the Chanar Dalna and Dhokar Dalna, which tastes authentic and just like home, though many times the cook might be inconsistent, but that happens to all I guess. Among the veggie dishes, I love the Mochar Chop which is a must order for me. My only complaint is the amount of oil which is excessive at times.
The employees are courteous and have a great deal of patience while taking down your order or suggesting you what to order. Thumbs up on that. The home delivery standards are good but they take a long time to deliver, so you might want to order a tad bit earlier than your usual meal time. They deliver in food grade containers, thumbs up for that, though they charge heftily for them.
All in all Sholoana leaves you with the quintessential "Bangali'r Bhuribhoj" feeling once you're done.
Excellent quality and mesmerizing taste, but prices again are a lot oj thr higher side, however ambience, behavior and style of good serving provide a heritage atmosphere on it's own, surely the place to be if you love Bengali Food.

I have only ordered for home delivery from here. They have authentic bengali dishes apt for any bengali family get-together. I have tried their Sukto, Begun bhaja, Mugh Daal with Maacher matha, Chicken Kasha and Aam er chutney. Perfectly cooked and delicious in taste. Also, this place is pocket friendly. Delivery was done on time and packaging was also fine.
One must surely try this place for pure bengali food at reasonable rates.
Food and service was top notch but ambience was really shady...kindaa smelly too.
If they could fix this issue then overall the place is decent.
The food quality is good. I have ordered Mutton kosha and luchi which were done beautifully. Overall good place to be to have perfect bengali cuisine.
Food is very good for main course but ice cream is not good. Service is also good. I dont like the interior. But as per food and service i can give it 4 out of 5.
If anyone is a fan of Bengali cuisines then its a must visit for them. The ambience is so so but the food is good. As I stay nearby I always opted for take away. The mutton dakbunglow is a must try. I also love their nolengurer ice cream.
In simple, words its purely a Bengali's delight. I personally went for my first dining date here and loved the food and a ambience although the hospitality was a bit sluggish but that's nothing to be concerned about. Medium pinch and worth a shot for Bengali diners.
Good food, rarely seen good ambiance in a reasonable priced bengali restaurant.
Any fish ( i have mostly tried about 60% of the menu) is good, veg section i think can be improved with options. Service is good.
Good food. Very quick service. Unlike other Bengali restaurant s, it is spacious. Simple ambiance, upstairs is better. Fish dishes are nice.
This restaurant is one of the branch I believe but why the quality of service and facilities are not like other branches ? most of the time the EDC does not work one has to go to get cash from ATM service people mainly the counter does not have any courtesy. I hope this are to be corrected in near future.
We were at the right place at the right time :D. I arrived with my family at around 8:30pm. We were starving. We ordered a quick menu of steamed rice, narkel mug dal, topse fry. Then pabda, following with doi chicken. The quantity and quality was excellent. So was the hospitality of the attendants. I've visited other sholoa na counters. This is the sholo ana counter where I got the best hospitality. The attendants were very cool, calm, cooperative. The pabda was not up to the mark. I'll visit there again and again. The overall experience was good.
Quantity: 4/5
Quality: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Cost: 2.5/5
If you wer looking for a perfect bengali cuisine.. So this is it. Here s the place... All types of rich bengali dishes are available here... N guess what, the name says it all
a fantastic restaurant with very reasonable prices and fantastic service ........................
Located near the South City Complex, by Prince Anwar Shah Road, this restaurant offers some typical and authentic Bengali dishes. I ordered half white rice with Ilish bhapa for myself for a quick lunch. The taste wise hilsa fish was very nice and I ordered the small one and was satisfied with the size. But the gravy was too less, and when I asked for more gravy, I was strictly denied, which was unexpected. Apart from that, the ambience was really good and stuffed with all Bengali traditional things. They have both thali and a la carte options available.
Good food, good service, you can eat any time.. Very much homely food
Sholo Ana Bangali saved me from starving. One of the well known best bengali authentic restaurant near South city complex, lake gardens, kol-32. Quality & tasty food available here at reasonable price especially the thali system is eye catching enough for two people. Theres not a good bengali restaurant anywhere in the South until I found Sholo Ana and I must say it was worth having lunch here.
Authentic Bengali food, and is great in taste . We even had nolen gurer ice cream which is not in frame . Make sure you try it out too , tastes great. The place is located in Prince Anwar shah road opposite to the 7th heaven Bakery shop . Most of our bangaliana gatherings are conducted in Sholo ana Bengali.
Food quality has deteriorated and more than half of the items on the menu are not available. Still chingri macher batichachhari was unparalleled. Posting photo of Kobiraji although I didn’t like it.
A good authentic bengali restaurant in Kolkata at an affordable and worth price range. This particular outlet has a small and cosy setup. Most of the items on the menu card were not available on the day I visited, not sure if that's a regular phenomenon or not. There were limited options to choose from, but undoubtedly those tasted great.

This restaurant is mainly known for its authentic Bengali dishes. It is situated near South City Mall. Ambience is good enough. Inside resturant is neat and clean. Hospitality of staff is appreciated. Apart from Bengali dishes they offer different types of Thalis also. Rate is little bit high in some dishes. They offer home delivery also. They accept both cash and UPI payment.
We ordered thali. Food was enough, actually more than enough. We were three and had a great time. The behavior of the people was awesome. We were more than happy with their food and hospitality.
The non veg thaali is mouth watering. All the dishes are well prepared. Luchi, cholar dal has an unique taste. Staff behavior is cooperative and helpful.
It's my second time with friends. And experience is pretty much same. I just love this food. Like any other bengali you have to visit there.
It's two minutes walkable from south city mall. I find the place is too much congested. Service is good. Employees working there are so etiquette. I enjoyed the food. I don't say price is reasonable but not that expensive. You can feel the hospitality from the gate itself.
Solo ana bangaliana is good for Bengali food ..fish dishes are too much delicious....feeling happy 😊
