The names speaks for itself. The restaurant represents calcutta cuisine. It seems like the food comes straight from mom's kitchen. So the 'Bangali Bhuri Bhoj' started with Basmati rice, Karaisuti Daal, Jhuro Alu bhaja with Gondhoraj lebu. This combination is quite divine in a plate. So next in line was Bhetki Macher paturi and one the special item recommend, Classic railway mutton curry. Every item was delicious, mouth watering. It was pleasant to have such kind of a meal. The staffs were very courteous, very relaxed environment. Last but not the least, for desserts we had Gurer ice cream, which was splendid. So thumbs up to this place.

Today I went to oh! Calcutta silver spring. It's ambiance just made my day special. Coming to the food. They have Hilsa festival going right now. They have meny varities of Hilsa in there menu. I had tried Hilsa fish finger, Mochar Ilish and Ilish paturi. The starter was so nice and crispy but the ilish paturi was probably the best paturi I have ever had. At last they offer me a Bhapa Sandesh that was just wow. Thank you Oh! Calcutta for the lovely experience.

Location: At Spring Club[Near JW Marriott]

As soon as you step in you find an impressive Bengali ambience overwhelming you.The incredible quality of the food goes hand in hand with the amazing fine dinning ambience.

Coming to what I had here:-
🌼Calcutta Fish Fry-The best appetiser I had here.(5/5)
🌼Mochar Chop-Banana floret patties with grated coconut and ghee.(4/5)
🌼Bhetki Ghondhoraj- Steamed Bhetki fillets flavoured with lime.(4/5)
🌼Kosha Mangsho-Best when paired with Pulao or Luchi (5/5)
🌼Gota Masala Lal Murgi- This was on the sweeter side.(3.5/5)
🌼Pulao-I opted with cashew and raisins.Though one can choose to have it with mocha narkol, chingri and plain ghee.(4/5)
🌼Luchi-They have two options Regular and Large(4/5)

One might think it is a waste of money to try Bengali cuisine at such a restaurant when our mothers can make the same with utmost love and care.It is only after having the food you come to know why they came into existence.

Highly recommended!

Generally when I visit any restaurant what I do is concentrate more on the taking pictures, But honestly as I entered the word that came out is 'Aha Calcutta'. A place that make you feel proud of the sprawling Calcutta's culture everywhere starting from decors to plates.
We were served with the glass of 'Thanda Gondhoraj sarbat'. Proceeding towards the starters and main course, atleast there were 30 veg and Non veg items,
rich which authenticity of typical Bengali Kitchen.
And believe me or not this the perfect place for fish lovers daab chingri, bhapa ilish, bhetki paturi, kosha mangsho which could be grabed with choices of sada bhat, basanti pulau, fulko luchi. The city of joy is famous for its versatility in sweet from mishti doi, mihidana, malai chum chum, kalo jam, pantua and you get all of them over here. And you end up with the tradition called Pan.
Now don't get stunned when I talk about the Price, yes it's around 1700+tax per person, which is absolutely pocket friendly.

Oh! Calcutta is located in spring arcade, science city area, kolkata. Situated on the third floor of the spring arcade, upon entering, you are welcomed by their very courteous staff into a very posh yet relaxed ambience. With an ample seating area and abundant space, this place is a perfect go to with your family on a Sunday or with your big group of friends on a lunch.
.
.
In frame :
1. Mutton calcutta biriyani - Rs. 445
2. Chingri Pulao - Rs. 425.
3. Bloody Mary - Rs. 225.

• The mutton calcutta biriyani was very authentic in taste and the quantity was enough for two people. And the mutton was extremely soft and delicious. I would recommend everyone to try out their mutton Calcutta biriyani.
• The chingri pulao was not that great in comparison to the other food items, but it was still good with lots of chingri in the pulao.
• And coming to my favourite, their bloody mary is one of the best bloody marys I have ever had. With the perfect mix of vodka and tomatoes, it was a cherry in the cake and my favourite item amongst all.

Not to forget, their hospitality was very good and they were very helpful in recommending us their best dishes at hand.

Overall Rating : 4.8/5.

All in all, Oh! Calcutta is a very good and a posh place and I would recommend everyone to try out this place once.

Starting with the ambience it was really nice, calm ,soothing light, spacious.
Staff behavior- very nice, pro on recommending good dishes
Dishes we order.
For Starter, Gondhoraj Bhetki- where the fish was done on vapour added with yogurt and lemon which taste heavenly. Amount was a little less. The Chungri Cutlet was also scrumptious.
For main course I had bhaja Moog dal - they showed how can they do wonders with a simple dish like daal.
Coming next to Chingri Bharta- The delectable Chingri Bharta was a surprise in my mouth since I never tasted anything like that inspite of being a Bengali.
Last item was Pressure cooked mutton curry to go with that last portion of rice which was simple and tasty curry, the meat were really soft and tender and it did not feel too rich.
Not to miss the obvious Sondesh vapa , that just blew my taste buds , I am still craving for it and nolen gur er ice cream did the same magic!
So over and all I want to visit there again to taste their other dishes as well

Oh! Calcutta has recently launched their new menu which includes Enchorer Chop, Bhetki Maacher Patishapta among starters to delicious servings of Mochar Ghanto, Pyajkoli Pabda, Bhetki Roast and more, presented with refreshing flavours.

Winter in Bengal brings special food like Patishapta, sweets having/made of Gur and many more. Oh! Calcutta tried to fuse two of Bengali's main elements into a single one, that is in easy words they have fused Bhetki with patishapta. Oh! Calcutta's this branch is located in the third floor, at Silver Arcade.

Coming to the food, ambience and service.

1. Food- We all know that Oh! Calcutta is pretty famous for their wide range of Bengali cuisine food. Their speciality is they keep launching new items, by merging elements which doesn't go along. They also introduced a live counter, where you can check out the starters which are being made there and served all hot and fresh to you.

We had-

~ Starters

• Phoolkopi Aam Kashundi Paturi- Bhetki paturi is a dish which people have been loving since various decades. But also bhetki paturi has became a bit mainstream. Thus, tried this new dish which is fusion of my favorite fruit and vegetable, along with kasundi, wrapped in banana leaves and then cooked either by steaming or grilling on pan. It was a bit sour, but you can try this if you love sour food items.

• Posto Narkol Tikki- Another main element of Bengalis is posto.

• Fish Roll- We all love to have fish rolls, but these rolls were unique, and the fillet was so thick. The rolls were stuffed with fish fillet and shrimp, then they added some garam masala and then Crumb fried it.

• Dhakai Murgi Bhaja- This was a unique dish, which I've had for the first time. Pan grilled chicken flavoured and fused with onion, garlic and hand pounded onion.

• Bhetki Patishapta- Patishapta is one of the most popular dish of winter season. Patishapta is basically a sweet dish but they tried to do something new with it. They renovated it into a new dish by fusing it with bhetki fish. The patishapta was filled with bhetki and spiced with ginger.

~ Main Course

• Pyazkoli Pabda- Pabda is one of the most preferred fish by us. They simmered the Pabda in a flavourful broth with mustard, Nigella seeds and mustard.

• Gota Masalar Lal Murgi- The chicken was marinated with curd, slowly cooked along with red chillies and whole spices. This dish was a vintage one. This one is highly recommended.

~ Dessert

• Baked Patishapta- Patishapta filled with coconut and date palm jaggery topped with kheer and then baked.
Rating- 5/5

2. Ambience- The interiors of the place were really amazing, they will provide you with an authentic Bengali interior. Also they have a huge dine in area.
Rating- 4/5

3. Service- Their hospitality was really appreciable. They were very helpful and humble as well.

Oh! Calcutta is a great place to try and experience authentic Bengali cuisine. Very extensive menu and we were there to try out the newly additions. Service is immaculate and waiting staff very helpful at explaining dishes. We ordered numerous dishes and were not disappointed with any of them - all were served piping hot and especially they told us to enjoy the starters while it is hot and truely it was so good, the taste, aroma and the crispiness of the Fish roll. The fish just melted in my mouth, the fish roll consists of (Bhetki rolls with a stuffing of Flaky Fish and Shrimps, flavoured with garam masala and crumb fried) Highly recommended.

The other starters which were my favourite were : POSTO NARKEL TIKKI(Pan grilled poppy seed dumplings with fresh coconut and chillies) and DHAKAI MURGI BHAJA (Pan grilled chicken flavoured with onion, garlic and hand pounded coriander)

I recommend both these starters to you guys.
Along with it, I extremely loved the BHETKI PATISHAPTA which is basically pan grilled pan cakes filled with minced bhetki, spiced with ginger. Loved how delicious this dish turned out to be. Tried and heard something for the first time here at Oh!Calcutta and was craving for more of this.

Then for the main course we ordered : Simple Rice, Daal, Jhur-Jhure Aloo Bhaja and Gota Masalar Lal Murgi. The chicken dish was the star of the lunch. It was prepared with hung curd marinated slow cooked tender chicken flavoured with red chilies and whole spices. This is an Old Kitchen Delicacy and truely it was so delectable in taste. I thouroughly relished this particular dish.

Lastly, it was time for the desserts :

Baked Patishapta my favourite amongst all (In Bengal, poush sankranti, is celebrated by making the most wondrous of sweets—the pithe(Baked Patishapta is one of them). This is a term used to describe a variety of items prepared using rice, date-palm syrup (patali gur, only available in winter). It is a light crêpe filled with either kheer or a coconut-and-gur mixture.
With them the other two are also my favourite sweets which are gulab jamun or pantua and icecream , topped with caramel sauce and nuts.

Overall, love this place and the food everytime i pay a visit here. Also, their service and hospitality is top notch and you can also avail the buffet here. We trief the a la carte menu and loved almost everything.

How mesmerising is that! PAW UP for the entire collection of @ohcalcuttaindia . Of my favorite dishes from Oh! Calcutta had to be this fish roll which melts in your mouth into Rui fishy along with super soft shrimps and makes the whole experience so much royal and worth craving for. Oh! Calcutta is my all time favourite place when it comes to Authentic Bengali cuisines. Visited the Silver Spring outlet recently after having tried at the Forum outlet earlier but this time I tried some new dishes from their newly launched menu. The ambience of this Bengali themed restaurant is royal and I loved the selection of Rabindra Sangeets they play all the time. Visited this place few days back and tried the following items :

STARTERS :

•Posto Narkol Tikki - Tried this old and authentic Bengali item for the first time and it didn't disappoint me. These pan grilled Poppy seed Dumplings were absolutely delicious.
•Bhetki Patishapta - This Pan grilled pan cake was filled with Chunky Bhetki which was absolutely great in taste. (Recommended)
•Phoolkopi Aam Kashundi Paturi - The combo of Cauliflower and Mango Mustard was magical. This item was totally unique. (Must Try)
•Dhakai Murgi Bhaja - This yummy pan grilled chicken was flavoured with onion, garlic and hand pounded coriander.

MAINS :

•Steamed Basmati Rice
•Gota Masalar Lal Murgi - I've never tasted any Bengali Chicken Dishes like this one though it's an old kitchen delicacy. This dish was full of flavours and great in taste. (Recommended)

DESSERT :

•Baked Patishapta - This authentic Bengali dessert was filled with coconut and topped with Kheer. (Recommended)

Overall my experience was amazing this this time. Like always the service was top notch and the staffs were courteous. I would love to visit this outlet again.

Oh! Calcutta; the perfect confluence of brand and comfort. This place serves best to preserve the cultural value of the Bengali cuisine by intermingling it with Western traditions. As such, the place tends to experiment with it's dishes to provide the best experience to it's customers. As you walk into Oh! Calcutta, one cannot help but get taken over by it's Vintage decor, and the larger than life grandeur. This place takes you through the splendor of 80's Calcutta whilst encompassing a very modern outlook. Coming to the food, the dishes are surely an endeavour to blend in spices of old Bengal which are slowly getting lost. As guided by the leaf chef himself, we discovered that they focus very much onto preserving the spices of the past. We tried their new menu, consisting of a wholesome variety of dishes that include: Starters: ▪️Phoolkopi Aam Kasundi Paturi ▪️Posto Narkol Tikki ▪️Fish Roll ▪️Bhetki Patishapta ▪️Dhakai Murgi Bhaja These is definitely a tasty bunch to look for, since all the dishes are successfully innovative in their own right. Mains: ▪️ Pyazkoli Pabda ▪️Gota Masalar Lal Murgi ▪️Steamed Basmati Rice I have to note here that the Chicken dish listed above is somewhat like something I have never tried before. It's all red, just the way I like it but the flavour of a spice unknown is sure to take you to heavenly depths! Dessert: ▪️Baked Patishapta So, if you're looking for a classy luncheon with your family or friends, this is your place to go! Immerse yourself in the grandeur and hospitality of this place, and you're in for a treat! 😊

Oh! Calcutta never fails to impress me with their amazing delicacies and hospitality. They have a wide range of menu serving authentic Bengali delicacies and recently they have added some more items to their menu. The ambience here represents Bengali culture with Rabindra Sangeet playing in the background. Recently visited this outlet with my friends and tried their newly added items to their menu.
First at the starters we tried
1. Phoolkopi Aam Kashundi Paturi- So we Bengali love our traditional Bhetki Paturi, right? So this is something new that they have curated for all the vegetarians out there. Cauliflower marinated in a mango mustard and nigella seeds paste and then wrapped in banana leaf. This really tastes different and a must must try from this place.
2. Bhetki Patishaptha- Patishaptha season is here and Oh! Calcutta never fails to impress you with their amazing delicacies. This time other than having the traditional mainstream Patishaptha do try this out. I gurantee you guys will love this one from this place. Instead of filling the pancakes with Coconut or kheer filling they filled it with chunky Bhetki filling. Again a must try from Oh! Calcutta.
3. Dhakai Murgi Bhaja- This one is my favorite from this place. Chicken flavoured with garlic, onion and hand pounded Coriander and then pan grilled. It has a very distinct and prominent flavors.
In the main course we had Steamed rice accompanied with daal, aloo bhaja and
4. Pyazkoli Pabda- Butter Fish simmered in a flavourful broth with mustard, nigella seeds and pyazkoli.
5. Gota Masalar Lal Murgi- Chicken flavoured with whole spices, red chillies and marinated with hung curd and then slow cooked. The chicken pieces were soft and tender and was a bit spicy.
6. Baked Patishaptha- Patishaptha filled with Coconut, Date and topped with kheer then baked. Best way to end the meal.
Do visit Oh! Calcutta and try out their amazing newe delicacies.

Well, this is my First time in Oh! Calcutta. I went there for a lunch with my Friends.

The ambiance at Oh!Calcutta represents bengali culture in it's true form. The muted lights along with the soft music and wooden interiors finished with a touch of off white colour in the walls, gives the perfect vibe for a fine dine experience.

Lets come to the food, Few of the dish from the menu are...

Starters:-

1.Phoolkopi Aam Kashundi Paturi- Pan griiled parcels of cauliflower florets, mango mustard, nigella seeds, wrapped in a banana leaf.

2.Posto Narkol Tikki- Pan grilled poppy seed dumplings with fresh coconut and chillies.

3.Fish Roll- Bhetki rolls with a stuffing of flaky fish and shrimps, Flavoured with garam masala, crumb fried.

4.Dhakai Murgi Bhaja- Pan grilled chicken flavoured with onion, garlic and hand pounded coriander.

Main Course:-

5.Streamed Basmati Rice

6.Gota Masalar Lal Murgi- Hung curd marinated slow cooked tender chicken flavoured with red chillies and whole spices.

Desserts

7.Baked Patishapta-Pan grilled pan cakes filled with coconut & date palm jaggery topped with kheer and baked.

The strong flavours nicely marinated inside out of the fish did magic to my taste buds.

Talking about my experience here i must admit it was actually very good. Starting from the service to the food indulgence and overall hospitality, was simply classic.Everything was balanced and mouth watering. All the end thank you so much for a lovely hospitality.

Dropped in here for lunch yesterday and was happy to see some new inclusions in their menu so thought of giving those a try.
Posto Norkol Tikki,Fish Roll,Bhetki Patishapta and Dhakai Murgi Bhaja were really delicious.
Loved the Fish Roll and Bhetki Patishapta from the lot. The fish roll had a layer of fish with a stuffing of minced shrimps inside and crumb fried.
The Bhetki Patishapta just blew me away with mild flavours. Thin pancakes with bhetki, spiced with ginger.

Gota Masalar Lal Murgi with Steamed rice was fantastic. Tender chicken pieces with bone flavoured with red chillies and whole spices.

For the dessert Baked Patishapta was lovely.
Pancakes stuffed with grated coconut, kheer and jaggery was love.

The service was great and the food no doubt is fabulous.

So my visit to Oh! Calcutta was just worth it. Having taken a day off from my job was really fruitful. My friends and I visited Oh! Calcutta for lunch and opted for Al a Carte. For starters, we tried Posto Narkol Tikki, Fulkopi Aam Kashondi Paturi and Fish Roll. My favourite among them would surely be the paturi. This is really hard to conceive how a vegetarian item with such simple items could taste so wonderful. This is a fairly simple dish but the taste is something which keeps you glued to this place. I'd choose this dish over our regular Ilish Paturi, anyday. Coming to the Fish Roll, it was very tasty as well. The crunchy crust and the core made of fish and shrimp paste, coupled with mustard sauce...that's what I call, my kinda starter. I'm not a fish guy but then, this fried roll was not our ordinary roll. This was indeed special. The Posto Narkol Tikki was amazing as well. I really wonder how the chef manages to bring out the flavours so well out of these common day to day items. For main course, we loved to go, the Bengali traditional way. We loved to have Steamed Rice, Daal and Gota Masalar Lal Murgi. Now, talking of bhaat and daal with some aalu bhaja, we all know that it is incomparable. That is always a bliss. But this was the first time that I had tried the Gota Masalar Lal Murgi. What we generally have it herbs and spices that are all finely ground and added to the food to infuse the flavors. Here, the whole spices were out into the food and was cooked over a slow flame to infuse the flavours. That's a really unique creation and I loved it. For desserts, we had Gulab Jamun and Butterscotch Ice Cream. I have been to the other branch at Forum Mall but I do feel that the ambience and the food is much better here. Thank you Oh! Calcutta for extending an invitation to me.

Went there on 24th dec,2019 for lunch. We opted for the buffet. The ambience was very nice and as it was pre-christmas time everything was decorater lil specially. Now coming to the main thing, food.

They had four types of starter. In non veg they had gondhoraj bhapa murgi, fish fry. In veg they had veg cutlet and pea tikki. Taste wise fish fry was amazing. Bhapa murgi was a bit less spicy and tasted like momo. Veg items was nice in taste, specially the veg cutlet.

Coming to the main course. They had many options. We did no tried any veg option but they had a lot. In non veg they had kacha lanka mutton, laal murgi, crab, chitol macher muithya, chingri malaikari. The best was the chicken preparation. Crab was nice in taste. Chitol fish was also a good perparation. Mutton was a bit unique preparation but we did not like it much. We took koraishutir kochuri, chanar pulao and steamed basmati rice too. Pulao was a bit much sweet and kochuris was nice and tender.

Dessert section was no so prosperous. It had fruit cake, rajvog, sondesh, misti doi and one more cake item. It was a average section.

They had dahi vada,alukabli,chaat etc.

Staffs were nice and polite too. Over all nice experience it was. Price was higher than the regular as it was festive time. It costed rs. 1074+tax(per person). Want to go there again.

The best bengali food served here. I have been to other big names as well but the authenticity and also the fusion is beautiful here. Wonderful service from the team as well. Classy interiors. This has now became a most commonly visited restaurant for us. The most important thing is their urge to make the service better every day. I really enjoyed having food there. Just a small request to the team if possible do include more fish dishes, because u are specialized that area.

Food to look for :  Gondhoraj Bhetki, Koraisuti Chanar chop, Mutton Railway curry, Pressure Cooker curry, etc.

Royal dining experience at Oh! Calcutta. On a sunday afternoon to celebrate near one's birthday we planned to have a grand lunch at oh calcutta silver arcade outlet. Both buffet and a la carte options were available although we chose the ala carte one! Its is needless to mention their elegant ambience and delightful hospitality and of course lip smacking food made our special day more special.

In starter we ordered MATAL CHINGRI(₹445), prawns marinated in vodka with chopped herbs and shallow fried.
We ordered DIRTY MARTINI and GORDON'S GIN and got complimentary CALCUTTA FISH FRY AND CHICKEN TIKKA!
In main course we chose BHETKI MAACHER PATURI (₹475) bhetki fillet in a spicy mustard paste steamed in banana leaves, STEAMED BASMATI RICE(₹195), LUCHI(₹95) and PRESSURE COOKER MANGSHER JHOL(₹495),home style mutton curry with potatoes.

The grand lunch had to end in a sweet note hence ordered NOLEN GURER ICE CREAM (₹165), freshly made ice cream sweetened with date palm jaggery.

A special thanks to Mr Manto who attended us with utmost care and even arranged for a complimentary birthday cake on request!

This place epitomises fine dining experience. We were greeted warmly. We had some discount offers which we could use conveniently. The complementary dips of raita and tomato we're very appetising. We ordered gondhoraj bhetki as starters. it melted in mouth. Then for main course we had dab chingri , sajnekhali mutton and plain rice. One bowl of rice is enough for two. Prawns we're of good quality. The gravy was subtle yet tasty. Mutton was a bit spicy though. We were offered one piece of sandesh each complementary. And finally paan came as a complete surprise. Paan ended our dinner perfectly.

Although I had been to the Mumbai outlet of Oh! Calcutta, I could not make it to their Kolkata outlet ,whatever be the reason. Finally , thanks to a small office party, I was able to make it there. And I`m glad I did it.
Well Oh! Calcutta is a classic resturant konown for specialising in bengali cuisine. But from the varied items they serve, the menu cannot be strictly  be said to be restricted to bengali food only. But whatever dishes they cook up is made to near perfection..It`s a place to be gastronomically delighted.
The staff knows their job and they serve to perfection.  Well, an evening well spent for all of us!

I had a friend ask me why visit a place for bangali khabar when you're already a bangali and living in Kolkata. Logical enough as her question might be, I think it is necessary to visit a place such as this to look at our city gastronomically from an outsider's point of view.
So there we were, two gluttonous souls, tired after a round of heavy duty shopping and craving the queen of fishes - the majestic Hilsa!
Ambiance wise this was your standard Anjan Chatterjee experience but what sets this place apart and pleases the Bengali earbuds are the instrumental Tagore songs that play in the background! Tagore, coupled with Bengals eternal love for fish and you would have an orgasmic setting even before the food actually would have found your plate.
So first things first, we started with a palate cleanser papad and quickly proceeded onto smoked hilsa and mursidabadi murgi fry.
While the chicken dish was nothing extraordinary and seemed rubbery( no offense it was delicious though) after the melt-in-the-mouth hilsa.
I do not have words to put down how exquisitely flavorful we found the hilsa to be- and the fact that it was boneless meant less efforts to eat (much to the delight of our lazy bong souls)!
For the main course we proceeded onto Barishali Chingrir pulao - a medley of prawn on basanti pulao, full of aroma and the taste of desi ghee and Meghna Majhider Ilish - which was the butter chicken of a Hilsa dish (no complaints though)- I love a butter chicken gravy and again soft juicy flavorful boneless Hilsa meant that our Bong souls were on fire. I could easily have broken into an impromptu Rabindra Sangeet had it not been a public place.
And as all things coming to an end,our meal did meet its ending but not without its dose of sweet! The nolen gurer ice cream reminded us of winter and all things warm and was a just end note to an awesome meal!

Oh! Calcutta has been my go-to Bengali cuisine restaurant while staying in any part of India. The love for Bengali food grew more while dining here. My favourites on the menu will always be paturi, daab chingri, steamed nolen gur sondesh.
This visit was more memorable due the array of hilsa dishes served for the ongoing Hilsa festival that the restaurant is offering. The food here never stops to amaze along with the heritage valued ambience.
