New Empire Cinema is a single screen cinema hall located in Humayun Place in New Market, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. This theatre is next to Lighthouse Cinema.
Ticket price is cheap.
This is a old theater 🎥 in Kolkata and atmosphere is like you are watching cinema in 90's.
However they are managing well.
There is no free parking.
Food is available outside.

Very nostalgic place, movies are great to watch at new empire cinema
The New Empire Cinema Auditorium was established in 1932. In the early 1960s, it started showing movies as well as plays. By the end of this decade, this hall was converted into a full-fledged cinema hall. Currently, this hall has a seating capacity of 1,000.
Nostalgic..but difficult to find for the first time... Situated in one heritage building with barista..kfc on the ground floor. And new empire cinema on the first floor.. walking distance from Esplanade metro (gate no. 6) besides citi mart opposite of sree ram arcade .. atmosphere is good ...sound quality..picture quality is good .. ticket price is also affordable (150,200,250) ..box also available for couple besides circle and stall ....theatre experience was good but need some renovation as it is an old auditorium..outside auditorium there is a small coffee stall... washroom is also available...
Overall a good theatrical experience...
NYC movie hall and Ac are best working and good service
Good sound quality. The screen is big. But the chair was not working properly. Watched KGF chapter 2. Overall a good cinema hall on a budget.
Movies have become an intrinsic part of our lives. When it comes to choosing a cinema hall for watching our favourite movie, we generally incline towards well-furnished and clean multiplexes like Inox, PVR, Cinepolis etc. But, there are some cinema halls that have existed, much before these multiplexes came into existence. One such hall is the iconic New Empire Cinema, situated at the heart of Kolkata, near Dharmatala. This hall has successfully stood the test of time and still offers a good movie going experience. The ticket prices are pretty nominal and the screen viewing angles are good as well. They accept online booking via BookMyShow also. One downside of this hall are it's seats. The seats are very low and it's extremely uncomfortable for a tall person to sit for a long period of time. The seat inclination also need to be addressed. Here, you will also find a bar cum restaurant on the first floor. Overall, it's a satisfactory single-screen cinema hall. 👍😊📽️
First time to Kolkata theatre other than PVR and INOX and not bad experience when compared to negative reviews.
Pros
1. Spacious
2. Neat and clean
3. Silent atmosphere
4. Avg screen size
5. Air conditioner
6. Seats are reclined
7. Ticket cost 120, 150 and 70
Cons
1. Smells not good but its okay
My advise is to Go with no hesitation and njy the movie 🎦 ☺
Good place for movie if u dont want to spend much.. Inox are the best for sure.. But they are at the same time costly.. Here youll get ticket price good.. Snacks price good.. All in all.. Good for a person who wants to watch a movie in low budget but nt compromising too much .
Ohoho..... Are you guys love bird??
Badly need a private place to spend your intimate time... Yes private means private.. No stairing from others no fear for privacy like various park...
Just book your ticked in box... And the next 2.5 hours are completely yours... Just live it...
Oho.. It's a cinema hall bro... So... Please don't forget to enjoy the cinema also...
This is great place and has a great ambience... Though being an old place they have updated this place.. It has AC and recliner seats.. It has momo shop, sizzler restaurants, kfc and dominoz in it.. There is a bar cafe in the building where every one can have a drink and eat food and chat with their friends.. The ambience of there was also very good. It is opened till 11:00 pm..
Old and popular cinema hall in Esplanade area. Ticket price is also very pocket friendly. Seats are not very well maintained but as per the ticket price it is quite good.
We are living in multiplex cinema time but new empire cinema is a vibe of old new both.. you can get every vibe from this cinema..to visiting other multiplex places you have to visit single theatre like new empire.

Barista quality needs no mention, it's always superlative. This cafe has a great ambience
An old and best one that still exist and carrying the tradition of movie theatre in Kolkata, whereas Globe & lighthouse got vanished. All are same as it was, structure, screen, seats, sound. But it would need to be updated a little bit. I personally liked this place a lot to see newly released english movie.
