Today I would like to share my cake experience..Today I tried mocha biscuit, lemon tart, and chicken puff..it was amazing..the chicken puff was stuffed with full of big chunky chicken pieces and the lemon tart is the big boom of this dessert shop. I wish to visit again and again

Walked in to this place for a quick bite and tried couple of bakery items like sandwiches 🥪 etc . Food quality is good , quantity is good , options not too many but fairly decent , staff is friendly , service is good . Overall a good place for a quick bite .
Bought a cake for my beloved boyfriend, loved the taste and design. The price is tad bit on the high end though worth it. I bought double truffle worth every penny.
Love their lemon tarts and Chocolate cake. Cakes has always been a family favourite. Definitely recommended. And yes, do try their lemon tart.

It is a calm, quaint place having a personal touch and feeling. There is nothing to say about the quality. In Cakes it is always good. I tried the Chicken grilled sandwitch and choco block,both of which I found delectable. Only thing is that,it would be great if they set some more chairs for sitting.
When it comes to answering cravings for pastries and puffs, ‘Cakes’ has proved to be a worthy answer. I had visited this Salt Lake Sector 3 outlet along with a few close buddies of mine. It was early morning and we decided to have some chocolate ganache pastry to put an end to our hunger. The item was almost a slice of heaven with molten chocolate oozing out and the cake smothered in it. Well, the description might not be up to the mark at par with the essence and flavour of the pastry. On the whole, this outlet has prompt- working staff and great ambience to provide a cosy atmosphere to each of its customers.

I have possibly visited Cakes for a hundred times and have never had any bad experience. Their consistency in food quality and taste is truly awesome.
I must recommend their black forest cake, egg less choco pastry, choco truffle cake, éclair and pineapple pastry. Apart from that, corn puff, veg and chicken quiche are my personal favorites.

The best cake I love is chocolate truffle cake and black forest cake. the moment you take a bite of chocolate truffle cake u will feel as if ur in a fairy world where there is only chocolates everywhere around u. It's dark chocolate just penetrates inside u thus making u feel so happy.

Well, another go at another outlet of “The Cakes” – this time their Sector 3 branch based nearby the 13 no. tank @ Sector 3, Saltlake.
This one is a pretty small outlet devoid of any seating arrangements – but nice to see that their availability and variety is good – as usual. They did have a pretty decent collection of pastries, savouries as well as pound cakes also!
They did have some hot dogs and sandwiches refrigerated – but I settled for their Chocolate Pyramid instead. Tis was as usual fine – good but not great – as the pastries sold by the likes of Kookie Jar are my favourite!
Ambience, price, quantity as well as service is fine – you can definitely visit them for some takeaways!

Cakes is one of the favourites in the city. Recently packed home praline pastry, swiss roll and a chocolate pyramid from this outlet. I don't feel the nutty praline pastry needs anymore describing, it's their best in my opinion. This Salty nutty chocolate pastry never disappoints. Swiss roll and the pyramid was also excellent.
One of my most favourite bakery outlets in the city. It's not too big or glamorous but the food is simply amazing. The patties, the sandwiches, the pastries, simply delightful.
Some of my personal favourites here are the Chicken Envelope, Chicken Quiche, Chicken Tikka Patties, Egg Chicken Sandwich, Tuna Sandwich. And amongst the pastries my favourite being the Nutty Praline and the Ganache Pastry.

Just love the way the sandwich melts in my mouth. The other day I tried the chicken quiche for the first time and simply loved it. They also undertake orders for cakes for various occasions. So if you are hungry while you are in this area do not think twice to pay a visit to this particular cakes outlet.

'Cakes' has always been a hot favorite of our family especially the chocolate Truffle & the Black Forest. However this time it was the eggless chocolate cake that totally blew me away. It was my birthday last Thursday and my family knew that I fast the entire day and eat one pure vegetarian meal & so they hot this eggless cake specially for me . And what a delight but was , it was hands down the best eggless cake I have ever tasted . Kudos to the 'Cakes' team , you made my day ... because it doesn't feel like birthday as long as one doesn't cut a yummilicious cake right ? 😉
One of my favourite cake shop. It's very near to Anindita estate, Salt lake tank no 13. Last Friday me & my friend went there for some evening munch. We ordered chicken grilled sandwich & Yummy Chocolate ganache. But prices are too high.

Veg Quiche is excellent. It has a lot of vegetables and I love them.
Corn puff is one of the best item here. It a fixed item whenever I visit this place.
Crunchy praline pastries is yummy. I like the crunch in it.
Chocolate eggless pastries was average. Nothing special except it being an eggless cake.
Overall a very good place. But I feel there is less options for pure veg snacks or eggless cakes. Still it is highly recommended.

Have been coming here since the last 13-14 years! Located near Anindita Island, this one was known as Kookie Jar long back. It was however reported, that due to some argument in their business dealings, they split and re-positioned themselves, under a separate umbrella named 'Cakes'!
Coming to the space, parking isn't of a much problem here as there are no traffic cops! Also, the traffic rush is pretty low here. The outlet is decently spaced, although there isn't any sitting arrangement inside. So, you need to stand and have your stuff, if you intend for a quick-bite!
I have literally tried almost everything here. Chicken Sandwich, Egg n Chicken Sandwich, Shwarma, Pizza, Quiche, Turkish, Mexican Puff, Burgers, Eggless Pastry, Pineapple Pastry, Eclairs, Nougat... Well, I can go on and on! Most of their items are nice and tastes fresh! I have hardly had any complains in all these years!
The staff are super-friendly here! The owner is/was(?) supposedly from the same block I reside, and with time, the staff here have known my face almost by heart! :-P
Although, this outlet sees a competition in recent days from another brand, I believe this particular store would keep serving us the way, or even better than what it has been doing till date! :-)

It's one of the best bakery in town...this place was born from kookie jars kitchen...basically one of the chef of kookie jar opened this place...so the quality of cakes and puffs are equal to kookie jar and priced less...my favourite pastry of theirs is chocolate ganache...its just yumm...and of u wanna have their cake, then go for choco excel... I used to live in sector 3 Saltlake and this outlet of CAKES was very close to my house so basically I had all the excuses to visit this cake shop to indulge in a lot of cakes ranging fairy enough for the different varieties available , now coming to the shop I would say its like a small outlet so u can't sit and have an ambiance like to eat however if u still want to eat there you may with those plastic tools availabe incase u want to sit , then there is savouries also available here just incase you want to have a small bite before a big meal somewhere .
Hence this place is really very good for the surrounding people as well as for all if they want cakes fresh and nicely baked .

Their collection of plum cakes and fruit cakes during the Christmas week is impressive too. Prices are a little on the higher side but it is worth the buck.

This has to be the best cakes-pastry shop in my area which has so many other cakes-pastry shops like rose,kathleen etc. I have been there innumerous times. I am almost done with all of their pastries- Noughat slice, Pyramid, Truffle slice, Ganache pastry, Macroon tart,Black forest.
The best had to be the Ganache pastry whereas I found the black forest to be average.
Amongst their snacks, almost in all my visits I have tried out their Chicken Mushroom which gives you a dual feeling of both the Chicken and Mushroom. But one can also try out Chicken envelope and Chicken quiche.
But yes, this is a bit expensive place because pastries will cost you minimum 45 Rs. Same is the case for snacks.
Even the birthday cakes are also costly as a standard one pound cake will cost you 330 Rs.

There are some good cake shops in different parts Kolkata opened in the last few years. One of the best of them is surely cakes. The stuffs are tasty 😋 though you would fill a pinch in your pocket it is worthwhile. We bought a beautiful while creamed pineapple 🍍 cake for the celebration of teachers day and all of us loved a lot. The crème is so smooth and so is the cake. We would definitely buy again from this brand.

This a regular pastries and snacks joint. The nut square pastry and the nut corner is a must have here. Also the chicken sandwich and tuna sandwich are really good and filling. The prices are really affordable..
Had visited this plc once and ordered fr a mango cake.. It tasted perfect.. Wud love tryng it more often.. Had also tried chicken shawarma and it was delicious!
Excellent bakery! Everything tastes brilliant, and freshness is guaranteed. Their mutton patty is out of this world. The excel cake is amazing. Try everything. You can sit around the tree outside and savour the food. Overall, a must go when in Salt Lake City.

This shop is located near Anindita island , which is the one at HA Block, and is a few feet away from rose confectionary . They have the prettiest pastries at the most pocket friendly prices. The Ganache Pastry is the cutest ever and my personal favorite . They have Turkish Pizza which is interesting to taste. The vegetable quiche tasted average. The chocolate marble cake is the most popular pick here . The nutty praline is also one of my personal favorites here . They also sell apple pie . The items are as good to taste as they look . Happens to be the best cake shop in Salt Lake City,although many residents still argue for it being overpriced.
I have been visiting this cake shop since its inception and be it a birthday,quick grab or a grand occasion,then Cakes is the first shop that comes into my mind.
The outlet is in one tiny room- at most the size of a house attic of Salt Lake City.But the quality of the cakes is worth remembering.
If you are a big eater and love sweets this place is ideal for you.
For a birthday or Anniversary you must try out the three varieties of cake:
1)The black forest
2)Choco chip cake
3)Pineapple spread cake
These three cakes will simply blow you away.Each layer is so well made,that every bite you take makes you sink in.
For pastries you can go for the Rum Balls and the Chocolate pastries or even the Almond Fudge.
The lemon tarts are equally good in taste and one can grab one of them after having a Chicken submarine.
Now for quick bites you should not miss the Chicken Tikka Patty-an original recipe of Cakes and indeed the best.
If you want to carry anything for breakfast the next morning you getta choose from the various breads available like brown bread etc.
I must say that this place is quite good for a small eatout ,apart from the fact that they lack a proper sitting area.Otherwise if you have a good budget to treat yourself and your love this is a good shot.

This is our "go to" place for many situations - last minute birthday cake, evening hunger pangs, need for comfort food, chocolate craving ... my daughter and I love dropping in here. i like Cakes as a chain because they offer good confectionery and bakery at affordable prices. It is an open secret that Cakes is the middle class man's cousin of Kookie Jar - but the difference in quality and taste is not as much as the difference in price. To me Cakes offer superior Value For Money without compromising on the food.
Of course, their speciality is anything chocolate but the savouries are not bad either. Try from the chicken quiche, mutton patty, chicken shwarma or tuna sandwich to verify the truth in what I say. The chicken egg sandwich is a personal favourite. The truffle slice, nougat slice, ganache and the chocolate pudding is a treat for the choco lovers for those who dis-like the brown poison, the swiss roll, pineapple cake,lemon tart and mixed fruit pudding is equally tempting.
Now comes the question of why I chose this particular outlet when all of them serve the same food. Its an emotional connect I suppose - this outlet is the oldest one after their main outlet and possibly the only one that has retained a slightly old world decor. While the other outlets are more glamorous with their metal and glass, this one feels a bit cosy with its wooden cabinet etc. The ambience makes me want to go back. .. and they are reeally well stocked compared to the size of the outlet.
So, thumbs ups for the taste, quality, ambience, variety and VFM.

Chicken tikka patty is also somethin you could try but anyways the blackforest is a bombshell. | am an incredible fan of tuna sandwich and blackforest ans this was my daily diet after school from a joint called baker's square. Anyways i have zero access to the later and have found a perfect substitute for my early fantasies in Cakes.
The chocolate bundt cake and the chocolate truffle cake literally call us from this bakery. There have been evenings when while driving back from this road we've debated about our calorie intakes to justify buying the cakes. Needless to say the calorie counts are grossly underrepresented during such self-serving debates. They have the yummiest cakes i've had and the puffs are also the best accompaniments. Wish they were more than just an outlet and had seating space too. But i guess it's doing my body a favour by not inviting me to be seated and pile on the pounds, pun intended. Great bakery, please open one near rajarhat.
I am in love with this place from the very first day. The desserts are amazing. They are place a slice of heaven every time you take a bite. I have tried almost all of them. And I go there atleast 5 times a week. My personal favourite is the choco boat. You'll know how good it is once you try it. All in all, if you want desserts this is the place !!

A Personal favourite is the Double decker souffle,priced at a competitive rate of just fifty five rupees.Simply Heavenly.On a lighter pocket one could enjoy a brownie or a mocha biscuit. However,their christmas special dry fruit and nut cakes seem too dry and crumbly sometimes . Apart from confectionaries,the shop also offers a variety of sandwiches.Although innovative,they are not as big a hit. Their chicken shawarma doesnt have an authentic taste,and once I had the misfortune of trying a Mince pie that had gone bad.The burgers they offer are plain and dry.However their egg chicken sandwiches were filling.The celebratory Truffle cakes on offer are simply grand,althpugh priced at a higher end than expected.But these truffle cakes are one of the best around,so order for the next birthday party and tuck in without a second thought.In a nutshell,CAKES is a wonderful place for those with a sweet tooth just waiting to be satisfied. I bought a cake for my mother's b'day from this outlet. I bought a Double Truffle Cake (1 lb).
The cake was very tasty and it had a traditional touch to it. The new gen bakeries specialize in loading cream and make the cake layering wafer thin. They spend more time on the fondant designs.
I was pleasantly surprised to see a proper cake. While it did have chocolate, the layer was quite nice and chunky, more cake than the additives. The butterscotch bits spread generously it good crunchiness. On the whole we all loved it.
