You can find very authentic Chinese food here. This place offers plenty of items. Haka gravy noodles and momo are best here. It's daily hangout place for me.
Beloved childhood favorite. Try the chicken steak whilst enjoying the delightful company of the owner. Wish more people visited here. It's really worth your while.
Have been quite a frequenter for lunch. Less oily cooking style - still owned by a Chinese and cooked under their supervision.
As per my colleagues, who are non- vegetarian, Prawn dishes are a must try, here.
Price wise/ Quantity wise this place is awesome!!!
This restaurant is located on Mirza Ghalib Street, walking distance from the busy park street,It is an old restaurant in that area.I have visited this place along with my friends on Xmas day.
We have tried Chicken wanton soup with noodles. It was satisfactory in taste.
Fried chicken wanton was enjoyable in starters.
Mixed Gravy Chowmein was a recommended one of them,it's awesome.
The hakka one was also delightful.
Ambience is okay and prices are reasonable.
You will hardly fins restaurant in that area who will serve you juicy momos,so try their momos (steam),you will definitely love them.
Note:All the dishes mentioned in menu is not available.
Amazing authentic Chinese food. Ask Mike to cook the food in the traditional Chinese way with authentic Chinese flavours and that is what you get. Sichuan chicken is a must try. This place reminded me deeply about when I lived and worked in china. :)
Atleast at the time of puja the food tastes good..starter was good.. Try there noodles instead of rice.
UNKNOWN PLACE THAT SERVES TASTY TREATS
The next time you are going to Park Street for your lunch or dinner, check out Hong Kong Chinese restaurant on 44, Mirza Ghalib Street. Though it is not as popular as the restaurants in Tangra or the old Chinatown; it does dole out irresistible Chinese delicacies. Again In terms of ambience and decor it does not come close to restaurants like Beijing or Big Boss. There is nothing special about the ambience and decor. It is a very simple and plain looking restaurant. Since it is located near Sudder Street, you will find many foreigners eating out there. They don't have too much to offer. It is simple fare available at moderate prices.
To start your lunch or dinner right, place your order for their Mixed Hot and Sour soup. The soup is mildly hot with good amount of mushroom, fungus, tofu and lily buds. Another soup recommendation for all the foodies is their Chicken Clear Coup. The soup is extremely clear and you can tell from the taste that the chicken broth has been cooked for the right amount of time.
After having any one of the delicious soup, you can have their Chicken Chow. The serving is plentiful with good number of chicken pieces. Their Schezwan Chicken is another brilliant dish. True to its name the dish is fiery and the meat pieces are big and plentiful. The same can be said for their Honey Chicken that tastes sweet without being too overpowering. Similarly, the Schezwan King Prawn is another fiery dish at Hong Kong Chinese restaurant. Instead of that you can have their Sweet and Sour Prawn. The prawns are tender and juicy and the gravy is rich and colorful. Along with the meat dishes, sample their Vegetables with cashew nuts. Equally tasty is their Chilli Tofu and Chicken Fried Wantons. For quality and quantitative food in a no frills kind of setting this is the place to go.
The restaurant serves authentic Chinese food. It is a no frills eatery where they serve good food. The owners are very polite and we leave the place with good memories (people & food). It has been established in the 1960's and is now currently run by the present generation. Noodles and chicken chilli were delicious
We went to this restaurant by seeing the reviews about this place..
We've ordered
1) Veg noodles
2) hong kong vegetable choosy or so..(my apologies, can't remember the exact name)
3) Coke
The food was good..both quality and quantity wise.. but nothing extraordinary .. one can easily find the noodles at any local street food store at a much lesser price! If you're hoping to sit in a AC room in this summer while having the Chinese food, you'll be disappointed as there's no AC.
But the hygeine standard is up to the mark. What I really love is the old man who probably is the owner of the restaurant and can understand English/Chinese. He's such a sweet and polite person, he brings an instant smile to our face!
If you want to have Chinese at a reasonable price then you can visit this place.
If you want authentic Chinese food at a reasonable price then this place is a must... Like the food is amazing, the staffs were very polite and humble and the service was also fast, we have tried their Hong Kong special fried rice and chicken steak both were quite affordable and the food was absolutely delicious... Gonna Highly recommend y'all to come here and have their food
Nostalgic indeed. I am a regular at this restaurant for the last 10 years. The quality just seems to be getting better at every visit. Managed by a Chinese family who are cordial and hospitable. I make it a point to dine here whenever I visit the New Market Area. Homely and cheerful ambience.
Test is very nice. Reasonable price. Overall nice.
Lip smacking quality chinese food, plenty in quantity, reasonable price and the restaurant has an old school ambience. Owner is very polite.Highly recommended for a meal.
Authentic Chinese food, the owner is an old man who prepares the food too. Had shredded chicken and fried rice, loved both of it.
This is one of our most favorite place to eat chinese food in Mirza Galib Street. The place is not too big. Its run by the chinese descendants living in Kolkata. Their foods are just awesome - dumplings, sichuan prawn, mixed noodles, mixed rice, soups, chicken chilli, chicken manchurian and so on. Just try. You will love it. Now, there is a mobile shop in the front door of the restaurant. You can take away any time. And the price is one of the the lowest in Kolkata.
Awesome hospitality with fresh foods made by a Chinese guy
Very underrated, good decent and authentic Chinese food. Make sure to carry cash as online payments are not accepted. Must try for some authentic chinese.
Me and my family went for a quick dinner into this restaurant. This is purely a chineses restaurant ..........,...... We ordered chicken sweet corn soup , dry chilli chicken , chicken and egg chowmin . Food was ok type , service was good and price was reasonable.....................
I had gone to have lunch in Hongkong Restaurant for the first time along with my daughter n son-in-law on Free School Street which I didn't know but the food was good n hope to go there again. Thanks
Good authentic Chinese grub.
Value for money.
Small tucked in without any elaboration however good service and food.
It makes one of the juiciest steak in town! I love the food here, plus given the variety one can often revisit to a whole new experience.
