Craving for North Indian food in North Kolkata this is the good place for you.amazing place with affordable price.perfect for family dinner.
The location itself is surreal as it lies inside a food junction, I would like to praise for the noodles here especially 🔥
We had Chicken Fried Rice, Chilly Chicken, Tandoori Paratha and Fish korma. All the items were too good 😍 and lip smacking 😶👏 Staffs are polite and helpful too. It's very inexpensive for the for the items we had 😍 100% quality and quantity 👌👌💯💯
Ambiance is very simple. But that's okay ❤
This place is located in Hatibagan, just near to Arsalan Restaurant. The Food is quite good in taste as well as quantity considering the price. Service is quick and the Staffs are friendly. Pocket Pinch is extremely reasonable compared to other Restaurants in the locality. Try once and you’ll love it. :)
Nice place in the little ones, the food was good and the quantity was right, the food was served on time, The staff treated the customer well.
Pocket friendly place in mid of hatibagan.. Good place for adda .. My favourite place to hang out during shopping.. Staffs are nice..
An awesome place with great food at affordable prices ...🤘🏻😎😋
To most people this might be a shabby and low profile restaurant, and not one of the first choices to be at, but if you are looking for amazing mouth-watering food -Chinese & Mughlai- at very pocket friendly prices, please pay a visit.
I simply am amazed by the flavours of the Mixed Gravy Noodles and Hot Garlic Chicken that I had here. It was more satisfying than many high-end restaurants, I can vouch for that. Service was prompt and cordial. Only it lacks in ambiance and decor, maybe a little congested at times. The choice is yours...
One of the best place for Chinese food at reasonable price
The quantity and quality of food was very sufficient
Awesome place to hangout with your friends and family
Everytime I come here, I always have my favorite item, chicken maharani and for sure it's the maharani of all chicken preparation in Sutanuti. This preparation has a very unique taste and had bits of boiled egg in it as well.
I always have it with tandoori roti or naan but it might also go well with rice (though I haven't tried that).
The ambience is not as tiptop and perfect as the new restaurants of these days.
Call me weird but I'd choose maharani chicken and naam anytime over pizza and burgers.
I have been going to this since 2005-06 when I was just a kid. Back then, this happened to be one of the best restaurants in the whole of Hatibagan. It was difficult to even get a seat on weekends.
Their quality is still the same even after all these years and their staff have aleays been good and quick.
The food is quite standard and also pocket friendly. Their noodles have alwaus been my favourite, and somehow the taste still has not changed.
Do give it a try.
Have been there soo many times since childhood..infact i have added pics n reviews...dn know y i couldn't find..well.. Chinese items are mainly good..but kulcha n malai kofta also good..i personally like their chilly chicken n hot garlic chicken...must try
This is not the place for those who are looking for restaurant with good seating arrangements, ambience or fine decorations. But considering the food quality and taste, I found it good. Polau, vetki fish and mutton items are very tasty. I have ordered starters like chicken lolipops and soups as well. Lolipops are little dry than usual but it's okay if you have it while till it's hot.
If you are looking for a pocket friendly place for Chinese or indian food you can definitely visit sutanuti junctions . Though waiters are not so Friday but the owner is . The dishes tasts fine according to the price point . They don't have। a fancy decor but good place to have your food peacefully . Recommended 👍
Had the first visit few days ago with the great experience...Nice ambience and tasty food...The seating area is not very large...Tandoori Roti was amazing and stay soft until the last bite...Kadai Chicken was awesome in taste...Highly recommended...
It is so good for chicken chilly and rice good quality good quantity and very pocket frienly . Musttry it's garlic naan and panir masala . Overall good
Visited here long ago...loved the food, kebabs are mouthwatering so ate they Chinese dishes...they don't take hours to serve... overall nice place and pocket friendly
Never expected a jazzy restaurant. This restaurant has been there for quite sometime and they have still maintained the taste.
I loved it.. it is the beat of "bengali chinese" loved it. Awesome taste. The portions are good, the price is reasonable.
Some years ago we went there place was small but staffs are too good it is beside of arsalan.. price was not so high.. and they gave permission to celebrate birthday my birthday is celebrated here and i enjoy it ❤ though i don't have pic of food but it is good 😊
This place is a good choice for a short dine in with friends, ambience has no attraction but the dishes can attract you by the taste of them. It's nestled at Hatibagan and easy to find out.
Well structure restaurant. It's like that you are sitting in a junction.
Food quality is also pleasant.
Good for value of the money.
Please try Chinese here.
Food is very tasty and the quantity is huge with very reasonable pricing. The staff is also courteous.
All that they need to do is improve the interior decoration and ambience.
Okay, first of all the menu prices on zomato are old and you can expect prices to be 40-50rs more than what is shown here( a chicken maharani costing Rs 145 earlier ,now costs Rs 195/-).
The place is apt for college people and it is quite a cosy place for couples.
I took parcel from this place which was delivered very very quickly.I ordered a chicken biryani, egg fried rice ,chicken nobabi and chicken maharani for a total price of about 680 bucks.
Chicken Biryani was flavorful -both the rice and chicken. The chicken piece was largish. What let down was the potato which was just boiled.Do not order.3 out of 5 but the potato pulls it down to 2.
Chicken Maharani,Chicken Nobabi- The reason why I am writing for both of them together is that I could not differentiate between the two. Both tasted and looked the same if not for the different garnishing. Both came with eggs. One item had an egg cut in shape of a flower and the other had sliced egg.The chicken pieces were soft and coated with cornflour(They have mixed and matched mughlai with chinese)-but the preparation was really good.Must try.4/5.
Egg fried rice-It was good and can be rated 4.
The prices are at par with its neighbour-Only for chinese Gazab,if not lower.Do try it out if you havent already.
Food quality is average
Had lunch with my family
And the space is too small
Otherwise overall it is ok typ
:)
Will visit again surely
With my parents as well!
The butter chicken masala was really very good and one should try it here The biriyani was average. And naan was also alright. Overall the rating for the great creamy butter chicken masala.loved it.
Old place of north kolkata.. In photo there are Egg Gravy Chowmein and Lemon Chicken.. The chowmein was very good but the preparation of chicken was too poor.. And their time management was not so good ! Otherwise good..! 😌
I visited this place yesterday.. Food quality is very good. The price was reasonable. Most important is you can get varieties of dishes from North Indian to Chinese. Location is very nice.. Overall experience is good
One of the themed restaurant of old Calcutta as the name suggests a station and to be specific the theme inside is of a train compartment.
Chinese here is delicious!
#chillychickendry and #amercianchopseuy are my favourite #mixedgravynoodle are too good .
#goldenprawns are good.
I have visited this place two times..& over all the palce was nice according to budget & variety of menu...bt if you are a person who cares aboute ambience..then this place is not for you...lights are very low..& place was quite small that's why tables are also close to each other...talking aboute the food...taste & quantity is pretty good...quality was ok...you can try this for sure if you have a low budget...
The name of this restaurant gives us an old school feel. It's situated at Hatibagan area, just beside Town School. The North Kolkata people know this restaurant by name, and most of the time the place is crowded.Despite having almost a dozen of restro around it's vicinity,Sutanuti Junction has never lost its popularity.
Now as for foods ,those are served in good quantity and taste nice.Tandoori items are worth mentioning. They also serve Chinese noodles, rice and curries. All foods are moderate in terms of pricing.Ambience is Okay, but not for those who value place over taste.
Parking might seem very painful here as the old Kolkata lanes are really narrow.
Please avoid coming with sedans or SUV's.
Nice place.. Foods are good and cheap.. Ambience isnt so good and service also ain't that good. Not a place to try new foodies.. But a place to feed your hunger with a little penny. Overall a good place.
I really dont know y its n 2.8 but i wl defntly rate it 5...cuz if nethng matters here is defntly food n its features with the cordial behavr f staffs..i hv nvr been dissatisfied here..it used be a joint i visited twice every wk in cllg days...n always mixed frd rc n chili chickn..or noodles...one f most "pocket frndly with stomach frndly" restros...
Since long I wanted to explore this joint the reason being it's name!
The name itself has an old Calcutta charm to it!
Located near hatibagan market, surely it's a favourite place for the occasional buyers of hatibagan market.
Coming to the decór, it tried to give a feeling of a train compartment but wasn't successful!
But when it comes to food, they don't compromise with quality!
To be true, quite skeptical I ordered their VEG BIRIYANI.. But to my great surprise, it turned out to be really nice!
Other things that I ordered also tasted good.
Coming to the pocket pinch, it was quite affordable.
So when you are tired shopping in the streets of hatibagan, it's a good place to hang out for a while!
Ignoring the interiors and repair works to be done, overall the food and the price range was nice with friendly staff. Dont know why it has such a bad rating.
I like this resturent bcoz of its food.. I came here many times with friends. Food quality is good. Quantity is also good. The chicken kolapuri is fav.
the ambience doesn't need a special mention ...but the food is good and also pocket friendly... the quality of biriyani is good but there is nothing special about it.. the service is a little slow...
This place brings back a lot of college memories. This happens to be the celebration spot for us khalus. And they practically never fail to deliver. Nice place, delicious food, albeit a bit on the spicier side, a little slow service and lots of nostalgia
Not so well decorated but the food is good. Cheap as well. The food quality is good. Do visit with your family or friends. Aaand the main thing is here tax isn't applicable.
Food - 7/10
Well this is a multicuisine eatery with limited seating capacity but conveniently located. The seats are cramped and there is nothing special about this place. The food out here is above average but the quantity is appropriate and noteworthy in regards to the pricing. The service is quick.we gorged on Tandoori Chicken for starters and had mainly the Chinese items like the Chili Chicken , schezwan chicken and sweet n sour fish with mixed fried rice and hakkka noodles to make it a wholesome meal altogether. This pocketfriendly place being close to College street is best for college goers and is also a good choice for ardent shoppers who need some binge break between their shopping sprees.Sadabislam786
Very good one !!!! It's an old restaurant of Kolkata ....
Service is very good ... it's also pocket friendly ...they provide good quantity ..
Tasted here chicken tandoori, mixed fried rice, chilly fish, chicken reshmi butter masala, chicken bharta....
Gravy of each item is just finger licking ....so must visit here & taste the gravy items..
It was my first visit to sutanuti junction, and i mesmerized by their quality and quantity... I ordered panir polao, chickn tikka masala, chickn fried rice and garlic hot and sweet chicken...at my first bite of each dish ,i feels like mom's recipe...
Their ambience ws not so much attractive, but their food quality in BENGOLI...like-"ghoroa ranna"
This might be a really small and old place but then it is really budget friendly and serves some very generous amounts of quantity in the dishes. We ordered chicken and mutton biriyani along with chicken tikka masala and mutton curry.
location - near town school and hatibagan arsalan
ambience - it is decorated like a train compartment.. the sofas are not too comfortable
food - 1. chicken tandoori - was delicious
2. kashmiri polau- loaded with fruits, mildly fragrant rice, was sweet in taste.. well prepared
3. chicken maharani - yellow gravy chicken with medium size boneless pieces, prepared with nuts and garnished with egg.. it was a little sweet in taste
4. chicken tikka masala - spicy and yummy..i liked this one the most along with the polau
5. as you like it ice-cream - 4 scoops of your favorite flavor.. delicious to be precise
6. fruit custard - marvelous in taste
overall a pocket friendly dining experience
A good and affordable multicuisine restaurant in North Kolkata!
Nice place. Good ambience. Reasonable price. Good quality and quantity. The stafff is also nice.
This place is located among the group of eateries in the Hatibagan market area along with Arsalan, Bagicha and has a history as it has been there from a long while. I went there with a friend for dinner. The place is very small, the passage to reach the seats is narrow and even the seats do not have enough leg space. Nothing much to say about the ambience, nothing about the place was eye catching. Looks wise, very ordinary. The staff were prompt in taking orders and food was served within 10 minutes. We ordered a 'tandoori chicken' half which was two pieces. It was served with a yoghurt mint sour chutney which was yummy. The chicken was well cooked and tasty though nothing over the top. Then we ordered one mixed fried rice and a chicken reshmi butter masala. The fried rice was okay, but the pieces of prawn were not property done as some still had shells and it gave out a smell when I ate it. The side dish had six pieces of boneless chicken and was nice and tasty. But one thing to mention is the quantity. We both could not finish the main course dishes. It was too much for us. My friend still finished the rice somehow but 2-3 pieces of the chicken side dish had to be packed for takeaway. So quantity wise, super. We were charged a tax amount of 21% which to me was quite unbelievable as the place was so very dull and an extra ₹5 for the packing of food.
So, ordinary place with zero ambience, prompt service, good food, great quantity. Overall okayish experience.Subhajit Paul
I don't know how Sutanuti Junction is anymore. I used to be a regular here as a child. At a time when this one restaurant ruled the entire playing field of Bidhan Sarani, stretching from Shyambazar to Hatibagan. It's the oldest existing restaurant of its type in the area and it does hold a special place for me as it's the first restaurant I had ever visited in my life. From the 1990s till tye early 2000s, my parents and I would visit this place at least one a year and often twice. The fondest dish on their menu for me was the Chicken Reshmi Kebab which tasted immensely soft and moist with a hint of smokiness and a dash of lemon. It wasn't much spicy and I remmeber that one plate of it would sort me out for dinner. The place must've changed since then. The growing number of fellow rivals and the shift in the crowd and their temperament must've hurt the business that once bloomed undisputed. I don't know how long Sutanuti Junction will exist or whether they'll be able to reclaim their former glory. But, to me, it shall always be special. The special of a different kind, like a toy from a long lost childhood.
Taste of food was really great. Bit of waiting but worth. Limited tables inside. But you will not regret. Unlike North indian biryani servings, raita not served alongside. Onions with sirca or cut onions not served with food. However upon request, we were served cut onions. Appreciate that. Reasonably priced. Must try if you are nearby.
Sutanuti Junction is a Cozy Restaurant in Shyampukur with an Old Soviet Era Vibe
It is a wholesome place, and the food is very tasty
The Service is Great, the seats are very comfortable, the food is served quickly and the people here are very professional and very helpful
I would definitely recommend a visit to this cozy restaurant - my favourite dish here was the Butter Kulcha and Dal Makhani, which would be my recommended dish to order as well.
In my first visit overall experience was okay, quality of food seems upto the mark. The atmosphere is too simple and nothing such special. The restaurant is fully air conditioned. Service was fast and good.
It's a old modeled ac restaurant with 9 table approx 50 seats and it has a clean washroom ( very small) also. Service is impressively fast than other restaurant. Their Chinese dishes are so delicious and every dish gives perfect mouthwatering feeling. Among north Indian dishes their kababs and tandoori are quite juicy. Main courses are also delicious but only I have a problem with their Biriyani ( Chicken and Mutton both). Their Biriyani does not good actually according to my opinion. But if u love Chinese then go for it.
The food is delicious and price is reasonable. I've dined here many times.
These are one of those gems of North Calcutta which still thrives and suits the mid income groups' pockets... Taste was pretty good... Would definately Recommend trying their HongKong Rice... Decor is average but the Food will definitely be satisfying your Appetite ❤️
I was visited this place since my childhood with my parents... From then to now the food quantity is decreased little bit... And the price of the food is little bit increased... But the taste of foods are very nice... Staffs are really very nice and polite... The restaurant is not so big... It's a nice pocket friendly restaurant... You can go and have some meals with your parents and friends...
'Sutanuti Junction' is a small restaurant at hatibagan. Few days ago I had visited here which is located at Hatibagan besides Arsalan at Hatibagan. It is a perfect and pocket friendly place for small or medium gang of people, students to hangout with their friends as well as spend quality time with your beloved one.
•Ambience of this place is not so attractive but it nice.
• They have seating arrangement of more or less 10-15 people at once.
• I had tried Egg Chicken Fried Rice with Hot and Honey Chicken.
• Egg Chicken Fried Rice was good in taste. Rice was so coarse. Chicken and veggies was well steamed. Along with this I had ordered Hot and honey Chicken which was nice in taste. Looking not so nice was taste was good.
• Quantity and quality of each item was not upto the mark but it is good. In this pocket pinch price it was good enough.
• One more thing they did not accept online payment. During this pandemic situation which is not so appreciative. They should start online payment for safety. If you want you can visit here for once.
I have orderd Veg Chow, Chili Paneer and Paneer Pakora. All foods are aswome taste and quantity is also good. Oh one sprite i have ordered but they have take Rs 15 extra for Sprite which market cost Rs 20 due to Service Cost.
Nice Place .. Good Food, Taste is Good, Quality is also good within Budget .. Tried Veg Pulau And Alu-Dum, both taste yummy .. 😋😋😋😋😋😋
Ambience is good, food rates are decent. According to me, food taste was better but for my personal experience biryani was not that good. Rice, biryani and noodles quality was sufficient for one person, and chicken tikka masala is must try item there. Staff behavior is good, And they do accept online payment and accept card too. For me it was great experience in there for first time, and want to go there again.
Just love the food, many time i have visited, and very affordable price.
Sutanati Junction has a menu of over 100 items, including dishes such as tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and lamb biryani. The restaurant also has a bar that serves a variety of cocktails and mocktails.
Sutanati Junction is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. It is open for lunch and dinner, and reservations are recommended.
