If you love steak and Continental food then Route 17 is the place where you need to visit, located in Sarat Banerjee Road, Southern Avenue. Nice medium size restaurant with peaceful ambiance, comfortable seating arrangements low light settings and with a giant screen projector to watch live matches. You can enjoy the food as well as your favourite sports here. We visited this place couple of days back with my friends. They nicely welcomed us and after some discussion we ordered some of their signature dishes. We ordered 5 different types of dishes, as follows,
Shepherd's Pie-– This is a meat pie preparation made with minced lamb meat with a crust of mashed potato. The decoration was eye-catching. They used mashed potato as cross wise. The meat was nicely cooked, not very spicy and very delicious. Definitely a must try dish.
Au-gratin- Another delicious preparation. Different types of vegetables like corn, mushrooms, chopped carrot, green peas cooked with butter and home made sauce then baked with cheese. Best for Vegi lovers.
Chicken Ala Kiev-A famous continental dish. Breast piece of chicken marinated with different spices, stuffed with liquid butter, mushroom and then coated with batter and deep fried it. Very crunchy outside and soft and juicy from inside. They served it on the bed of mashed potato with some boiled vegies. Really nice.
Tetrazzini- This a preparation with spaghetti. Spaghetti cooked with cream, shredded chicken different types of vegetables and then baked with cheese. The taste was simply great. Creamy spaghetti with chicken just amazing.
Fish & chips- We tried different mutton, chicken and veg. dishes , so we thought we need to try something fishy. Fish fillets marinated with spices and coated with batter and deeply fried. It was juicy as well as crunchy. They served it with French fries. Surely you can try it if you love fish.
After eating these preparation I can say only one thing it was a delicious experience for all of us. Really liked it and enjoyed it. The service was quick and staffs were friendly. A perfect place to hangout with friends and family. We will visit again very soon.

If you’re looking for the best steaks in City, this is the place. I went to dinner with my friends. I liked the look of the restaurant and the feeling of the place. I anticipated a good meal. It was a quiet evening with not many other tables occupied. From start to finish I was extremely impressed by the restaurant. It has a wonderful atmosphere – very different to most Steak House in the city. The tables are large and the seats comfortable. The staff were tremendous, helpful and cheerful throughout. Each dish was beautifully presented and very tasty. The meal was delicious and the presentation was superb. The kitchen staff took great care in the cooking and plating of what is a very memorable dinner.It was the first time to visit this restaurant and will certainly go back, an excellent dining experience.

Stake house the name itself works like a black magic with me. I visited the place with my loved one.It has darkish yet soothing to eyes interior. Cutlery they spread on the table will give a premium feel specially I liked the wine flutes they serve water in.Staffs were very communicative with us and informed well about the ingredients in their dishes. But that day a huge chunk of their menu offering were unavailable. THAT'S AN UNPLEASANT SURPRISE FOR ME. Hope next time I will have better experience. We ordered fish N chips. The outer layer was good to taste and crispy. The fish was smelling quite good with with delicious juiciness. French fries were good too. The mayo based deep sauce was fingerlicking good but the quantity should be a little more. Virginia mojito and pineapple smoothie was very neatly presented. Pork chops were pretty big in size. Vegs, mashed potato and sauté onions were well prepared. The spicy gravy poured on the chop was overpowering the original taste of the meat. Little less spicy is preferable. Overall I had a good time & recommend this place to everybody. BUT PLEASE MAKE ITEMS IN YOUR MENU CARD AVAILABLE.

Another good place in the kolkata to have continental foods. Beautiful ambience and good decor in low light with live ipl match. We ordered braised pork with pineapple , chicken ala Kiev both the food was delicious. Pork almost melted in mouth. Food design was really nice. In desert caramel cartard was perfect to finish the dinner. Staffs are well behaved. Overall pleasant experience. Hoping to visit soon to taste the other items.

After going through the reviews in zomato i thought of trying this place today! Located in one of the lanes of sarat bose road, Route 17 serves an amazing treat to the tongue for all the steak lovers in town! At first i was a bit unsure about this place, but i was absolutely satisfied with my decision. The interior is simple yet decent. The staffs were friendly and cordial. But the best reason to visit this place is food! I must say that the food quality is really good. We ordered one spicy chicken cocktail sausage as appetizer and california fish steak and chicken cardon blu for main course. All the dishes were lipsmacking with special mention to california fish steak! The fish was really soft and juicy and tasted very good. The spicy cocktail sausage was something new that we tried and i loved the preperation. Since we were absolutely full we couldnt order for desserts any furthur but they even have some very good choices of desserts. I would definitely give a second thought of coming to this place and try some more new dishes! The prices are affordable and definitely worth the food quality! Highly recommended.
We ordered a Shepherd's Pie which had Mutton in it. Would have given 4 stars to this review but the mutton needed to be finely minced. Which it wasn't. There still were areas where you could improve the dish. Also, the mashed potato dressing was nice, and the dish needed more of the potatoes! It was very nice to taste otherwise. The ambiance is good.

This is a newcomer in the continental block, and I think this place has a potential to be a good food joint, but they really need to up their game.
First of all, there's no good selection for drinks. Shakes and smoothies with Continental don't just fit.
The place is neatly decorated. With margarita and wine glasses kept all over, you would expect that to be served, but nope.
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes. The starters section was specially good. We took a plate of Calamari batter fried and 'Prawns wrapped in Bacon'. The bacon wrapped prawns were really well made, though the dip sauce was too sweet.
In the mains, we took 'Pork ribs' , Tenderloin Steak and Chicken Mont Blanc.
The Pork ribs were tender and juicy but it was too sweet. Like way too sweet. Felt like they had rubbed tamarind chutney all over it. So halfway through the dish, and we regretted ordering it.
The tenderloin steak was well done, juicy. Should have been served in a sizzler though. The sauce which was given over it was okay. Mushroom sauce along with bone marrow liquid would have been great.
Chicken Mont Blanc was okay.
I hope they improve these bits :)

1. Chicken Mont Blanc~ It was good... Not a regular one... They used to fry the chicken with egg white n then serves with mushroom sauce, sauteed veg n parsley potatoes... I just loved it...

3. Ham steak Hawaiian~ If you order it... You need to know how to eat it... Cut it all along with the pineapple and have it... You will feel the magic for sure...
4. California fish steak~ It will surely impress the fish lovers...

I loved the lighting and the furniture of this place. Full marks for the music that was playing.

*Bacon wrapped prawns : it was amazing. The honey dip accompanying it perfectly balanced the saltiness of the bacon.
* Mutton meatballs : very nice.
*Ham steak : I was so relieved to see the meat quantity. There was very little fat and the meat was just perfectly cooked. Loved it.
*Tenderloin steak : Amazingly well cooked. The sauce was well done as well.
Service is very prompt and the waiters are courteous. This place definitely bags a recommendation form me.

Route 17 - The Steak House is undoubtedly the ultimate place for hardcore non-vegetarians with choices of all the meats.
I, a to-be vegetarian, mostly stuck to the vegetarian items and surprisingly it did not disappoint me at all. In fact, I preferred the vegetarian items over some of the few non-vegetarian dishes I've had.
Started with:
• Minestrone Soup which was a tomato based soup and had grated cheese all over it. The flavours had come out very well from the vegetable stalk added to it and the smell of butter from it was what made the soup so appetizing. This actually happened to be my favourite dish of the day!
• The Mozzarella Cheese Sticks were oh-so-tempting. However, a little seasoning was required.
• Smoked Pepper Crostini was average. Nothing extraordinary but no complains either.
• Fish Finger was amazing and comes with a sweet and spicy mayonnaise dip. The fish was non-smelly and soft.. almost melts in your mouth.
Main Course:
• Veg Steak, inspite of a lot of criticisms by the non vegetarians as an item, this was praiseworthy to me. Fresh ingredients, all mixed and mashed into a big steak patty and served with sautéd veggies and fries. Yum!
• Fish Steak was my second favourite dish of the day. Accompanied with herb rice and sautéd vegetables, the fish was fresh and well marinated, topped with a tangy sauce to go with the rice.
Desserts:
Caramel Custard was perfectly made. No raw egg smell, whatsoever.
Sizzling Brownie - Brownie was warm and chocolaty but was a little on the harder side.
I had a good experience, altogether. Even the vegetarians wouldn't be disappointed for sure!
If you want to have the best of Italian and Continental then this is the place you should head to. Located in Southern Avenue, never ever thought this place could satisfy my taste buds.
The interiors are well done and can accommodate 30 ppl easily.

Was looking for a light dinner somewhere amidst the many eateries on Southern Avenue and Sarat Bose Road. But the site of a steak house left those simple intentions at bay and I entered Route 17-The Steak House with all the intent to pick up my steak knife.
The place has a giant screen that serves you to the best of cricket this IPL season. So you could enjoy your steak as well as the game at the same time. I can already see some of you getting excited.
Coming to the food, while my friends settled for the porky delights, which they claimed was mouth watering and very well made, I went for the fish fingers, mutton balls, chicken steak and mutton pot roast.
For desserts we ordered their caramel custard and sizzling brownie.
My favourite out of every dish I have mentioned above, has been the Fish Finger. That thing is a killer. The fish just flakes away when you try to break into the fry and melts away into your mouth the moment you put it there.
The chicken steak along with the butter, lightly herbed rice also makes for a comforting plate of food.
We gulped everything down with double servings of virgin mojito. All in all a pleasant dining experience.
Firstly,this restaurant is a little hard to find because of the location.Secondly,there is very little awareness about it despite the food being good.I am sure the owners can do better in terms of marketing.The place is very small with respect to the number of covers and looks a tad shady.But nevertheless,the staff are really courteous and the food is also good.

Don't know why there were very few customers, could be because of the location. But the food was very good. They have a wonderful variety of dishes in their menu, although for some reason they did not have any fish dishes. The drinks were also great and the staff were very efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend others to visit.

Marinated chicken breasts spiced up and steam cooked along with veggies and a served with a base of mashed potatoes. In addition the chicken was liquid cheese stuffed and garnished coriander leaves and red chilli powder. A soft, tasty and juicy dish to fill your tummy. Virgin Mojito is also cool . Pork Chop also good in taste .

Visited earlier today for a quick lunch. We were told that bacon wrapped prawns were unavailable, and so were the barbecued chicken wings. Slightly disappointed, we moved on to ordering the mains. The chicken steak was cooked well, and doused in a really tasty sauce. However, a chicken steak is not supposed to have bone in it. The barbecued pork ribs were sticky, tender and delicious. The accompaniments were all quite bland. Dessert, ie, apple pie, was a good finish to the meal.

After that had shepards pie which was decently good
And lastly had Chicken ala kiev which I think was the best item on my table there it's better that the one which they serve at oly I would say if u in the mood to eat chicken then must try it
I would give full marks to this place for the fantastic staff they have. In a very short notice they gave us a very cute complementary candlelight dinner because it was my friend's birthday. It's a simple place with soothing ambiance and it's a pity that people don't know about this place a lot. We had ordered baby corn fir starters,which was served with Mayo dip. It was pretty good. Then for main course we took ham steak hawaiian and tenderloin steak. While both were delicious,the ham steak was finger licking yummy. The menu is pretty extensive and I need to come back here to try out all the other dishes. Really recommended.
So, while walking down the southern avenue, i casually browsed zomato for an eatery nearby. Came across the name "Route 17 - The Steak House". The name in itself lured me and then the menu, ofcourse pulled me in. A small eatery within a lane at Sarat Bose Road, a 5 mins. Walk from the famous Mandarin, i was floored by the variety of steak available. Do not expect an exhilarating decor, but be ready to savour the delicious steaks this place has to offer. Chicken, mutton, pork and beef, all available and especially, the beef lovers in Kolkata, you can never afford to miss out on the goulash or the tenderloin steak prepared here! Fabulous would be an understatement for the dishes. 😊 Hope they keep the quality quotient high in days to come!

The ambience is pleasant and cozy. The decor is amazingly soothing and live sports screening is an obvious treat. The staff was polite and helpful. Service could have been better. Pocket pinch is moderate and the food is worth every penny. Now about the food that we ordered :
Crispy Fried Calamari : Fried to perfection, served with mayonnaise dip.
Chicken Ala Kiev : The chicken was succulent. Well served with mashed potatoes and melted butter.

Its a quaint little place in southern avenue with a cozy ambience and good food. We started off with prawn fritters, served with mayonnaise. They look kind of simple but are simple scrumptious. The praws were super fresh and the herbs packed a nice flavor. We also tried beef strogonoff and mutton shanks pot roast,both served with buttered rice and vegetables. I liked the mutton shanks which had a nice balance of flavors though is bit on the drier side. We topped off with sizzling brownie with vanilla icecream.it was a walnut brownie but had other dryfruits like raisins which actually enhanced the taste. it is definitely worth visiting again.

Spring evenings demand catching up with old friends. Route 17 turned out to be the perfect choice. After going through their menu on Zomato, I had been quite eager to give this place a try and it was a definite hit!
The decor is quite interesting and though the number of seats is not a lot, the arrangement doesn't let you complain. Wooden tables and neat but sparse furnishings does give you the feel of a laid-back joint where one can spend quality time with one's friends over good food.
For drinks, my friend and I ordered Cold Coffee & Chocolate Smoothie respectively. Cold, delicious and thick. That's how we love it.
For mains, we ordered a Hawaiian Ham Steak and a Chicken Stroganoff.
The Hawaiian Steak came with a choice between Fries or Mashed Potatoes and a side of boiled veggies and onion slices, the steak being topped with a sunny-side up! Needless to say, it was delicious.
The Stroganoff was scrumptious too. Interesting choice that is given at Route 17, is that of Buttered Rice or Pasta as a base for Mushroom Sauce of the Stroganoff. Initially I thought the pasta might pair weirdly with the gravy but it was a pleasant surprise instead.
We ended our meal with a warm, crumbly and delectable Apple Pie & Ice Cream which was just perfect! The most delicious pie I've ever had! I will be going back for more without a doubt.

We visited this place today and it sure did not dissapoint us. Route 17 is a cozy eatery that offers great food at affordable prices.
For starters ordered Fish and chips. The taste was average and there's room for improvement. However, the main course was just the way I had wanted it to be. The PORK CHOPS and HAM STEAK are the best on the menue and is a Must Try! The tender and juicy meat was served in a thick sauce along with french fries and veggies. We also ordered Apple Pie with Ice cream - fresh out of the oven , served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce! Every bite was heavenly. Despite being full we wanted to have more!
The staff was very amicable and attentive. They made us feel very comfortable. To sum up, the experience was more than satisfactory and I can't wait to visit the place again!
Located in southern Avenue, this place can be a bit tricky to locate. Went there on a Friday evening, admist incessant rain. Ambience inside is good, though the lighting can improve a bit. Staffs are quite friendly to begin with. Mocktails are good. We tried Virgin mojito and mango ginger drinks. Food is brilliant and value for money too. Prawn fritters, French fries and meat balls were taken as starters. Prawn fritters deserve a special mention. Chicken steaks were delicious though the veggies could have been tossed a bit. Beautifully done up, the space is cleverly divided into different sections catering to groups of varied sizes. It's a nice play for casual dining. Though better continental is available in town but this one is actually value for money. It costs 1300 for two with starter, 2 main courses, desert and 2 drinks. In Southern avenue this one is a very good competitor indeed.
Very good Italian food. Good spread. More importantly, the owner and staff take additional interest to suggest and improvise variation from the items mentioned in their menu. Lasagne was extremely good and portion was also good enough.

Route 17. The signboard outside is unique and the zomato rating seemed good enough to go and take a look.
The decor is fine. Simple and unassuming. The music in the background is a mix of classical rock and pop songs, and that was a nostalgic mix to listen to.
The menu was diverse and there are a lot of options which is always good.
The crispy fried calamari with wasabi mayo dip was a great starter. The added masala on top of the calamari was interesting and tasty. The dip was phenomenal.
The roast chicken with fries, veggies and corn was good. The portion was a little on the below par side. But the taste was good.
The pot roast of mutton was great. Good flavor, great aromatic spices and perfectly cooked veggies.
The caramel custard was phenomenal.
All in all, it was a great quick experience. Hopefully they increase their portion sizes soon. But all in all - Recommended.
Route 17 is a swanky new Steakhouse located in the lanes of Southern AvenueI was unlucky on the day of my visit to this place where all their steaks were over..! I won't blame them as we were a bit late for the day.The staffs were cordial and the decor of this place is rightly done..I did find a place where they were setting up a bar counter and on asking ,they did agree that they are trying for an alcohol license.Well, if that's true it gonna be a first of its kind in the city.My personal favourite was the Bacon wrapped prawns..The Roasted Chicken portions could have been better, but I guess that indicated they were done for the day.The management needs to pay some serious attention to desserts section as the Monte Carlo was not upto the mark.I surely need to visit this place again for a proper meal & rating..!
As a sleeper celebration, me and my wife decided on this newly opened steakhouse on the eponymous 14th of Feb. When I called for a reservation the man on the@ phone was cordial and helpful. The first impression I had on entering was that the place had close similarity to the steak factory in terms of decor. The menu was a classic steakhouse menu, nothing flashy but effective. We tried mango ginger spic cooler which I thought was really over spicy. Pork chops and roast chicken were bang on. Irish Broth was good. As a good gesture, the owner complemented our dinner with a caramel custard on the house which I though was quite a warm gesture. What surpised me was the bill. All that in a 1000/- bucks only.

I visited this place with my family on Sunday for a lunch. This place is in Dr. Sarat Banerjee Road and is hard to locate. It was nearly empty at 3 pm with only two person sitting other than us.
The place has a 10 tables for sitting which is in two rooms and one cabin. It is a old house converted into a restaurant. There is a bar counter but no alcohol available yet at this place which is a disadvantage. This place is for meat lovers.
The menu list consist of many good steak and many good and innovative continental items.
We asked the manager for some suggestion on the items. He suggested Bacon wrapped prawn in honey mustard for starter. For the main course we had Barbecue pork ribs with mashed potatoes (option for french fries available) and sauteed vegetables, Lasagne with minced mutton and chicken ala kiev.
The food was delicious and exotic. We really appreciated the choice of the manager about the dishes he offered.
The Bacon wrapped prawn in honey mustard was great and something new to me. The pork rib had a equal amount of meat and fat ratio which tasted great along with the mashed potato and sauteed vegetable. The lasagne had mouth watering minced meat with Parmesan cheese layers.
The decor and ambiance was g@ood as so was the cutlery. The waiters were very courteous and service was prompt.

Wonderful and affordable, this is a slightly difficult@ to locate Hidden Gem near Sarat Bose Road Post Office. The easy way to find it is to look for the lane to Fuji /the one opposite to Tolly Tales... It is a short walk inside the lane.
Had iced tea, Chicken steak and Spaghetti Carbonara, worth the price and genuine Flavours. Worthy of revisiting.

অনিওন রিঙ , বেবি কর্ণ ফ্রিটারস এবং মাশ্রুম ফ্রিটারস ছিল স্টারটার হিসেবে । খেতে মচমচে , ভিতরে আগুনের ভাপ তার অস্তিত্ব শেষ বারের মত জানান দিচ্ছে । সাথে দেয়া ক্রিম মাখিয়ে খেলে একটু মিষ্টি মিষ্টি লাগবে । সে যাই লাগুক , মোদ্দায় এই গুলো খেয়ে খিদে খানিক বেড়ে গেল ।
এবং তখনই সব শত্রুর মুখে চাই দিয়ে ভেজ ক্যানেলনি ফ্লরেন্তাইনের অনুপ্রবেশ । পাস্তা খেতে খারাপ লাগা প্রায় অসম্ভব একটি ব্যাপার । এই খানিও ব্যতিক্রম নয় । পিছে এল পরক চপ । শুয়োরের দেহের নরমতম মাংস দিয়ে নির্মিত । সিগনেচার ডিস বলতে কোনও দ্বিধা নেই । উপরে সবজি এবং ফল দিয়ে সাজানো । না খেলে নিজেই ঠকবেন । চিকেন স্ত্রগানফ এবং বিফ সটীক যেন মুকুটের অন্য পালক । দুটোই অসাধারণ । কিন্তু গো মাতার স্বাদ মুরগির থেকে যে কোন সময়েই ভালো । ফলে বাছার ক্ষেত্রে আমার ভোট দ্বিতীয় পক্ষে । তবে এদের থেকে হ্যাম স্তেক হাওয়াইয়ান পুরো অন্য লেভেলের । ভিতরে মশালা আর মাংসল রসে টইটুম্বুর । নরম শূয়র ছানার সার্থক ব্যবহার । এটাও আরেক সিগনেচার ডিস । মখমলে বললে অত্যুক্তি হয় না ।
যদি এসব খেতে খেতে পিঙ্ক ফ্লয়েদের আবহসঙ্গীত শুনতে চান , কমল মিত্র মার্কা আভিজাত্য প্রত্যাশা করেন , এই জায়গাটা সিনেমার মতই দেখতে আসুন । ব্যর্থ হবেন না ।
Continental Joint in southern avenues... simply amazing... although they have more non-veg options but still their food is great... service is a little slow bt accepted for Continental food..hope they maintain their quality n tatse...

Undoubtedly one of the best places in town for continental dishes! A hidden gem tucked away near the Sarat Bose Road post office, this place offers a plethora of mouthwatering servings! Was absolutely delighted with the interior. These guys have made it really cosy and comfortable! The food was excellent. Had everything right from the scrumptious Chicken Napolitano, the Chicken a la Kiev, Chicken Mont Blanc, Chicken Cordon Blue to the absolutely amazing Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce and Spaghetti Carbonara. The Tenderloin Steak stole the show though. It was the best thing I've had in a long time! Excellent service! Polite and decent staff.. Only complaint - The Space Crunch!! Everything else was spick and span! The sizzling brownie was good enough to spark off some happy hormones! Cheers!

Frankly visiting this place and tasting their cuisine didn't surprise me that much as i expected.
Interior is mild and it is difficult to accommodate when there is any group cause the seatings are made particularly for two.
Coming to the food, we tried
1. Mango Ginger Spicy Cooler: a mocktail to start with but the portion of ginger was way too much making the drink bitter.
2. Chicken Rice Balls: a plate of 6 chicken balls of satisfactory size
3. Chicken Cordon Bleu: a stand out dish with veggies and fries (recommended).
4. Spaghetti Carbonara: usual spaghetti served in white sauce topped with crispy bacon.
The rating is given based on the portion of food served, but for me value for money was not upto the mark. Still a place to try out atleast once.
This is my second visit to this place and my love for this place is growing with every visit. Ambience good, decor aptly suites the place , i had bacon wrapped prawns with honey mustard, best of the lot. Chicken Ala kiev as juicy and buttery it can be, Roast Chicken was not quite up to the mark. Prawn New burg lived up to its expectation and chicken rice balls were really very good. Heard about this place from a friend of mine. Easy to locate. The decor was good. They people were courteous enoung. The waiter help us to choose the main coyrse. We ordered chicken steak and a dish of prawn. The food taste is really good but the quantity of chicken steak was not enough. Hence we had to order again. This time we ordered picked akaki e which raste yummy. There were a offer going on if we order 3 main course they will give us 1 main course free. We order fish steak for thake away. It's was nice experience. Will vist again..

Rout 17- The steakhouse, is located in a good location of Southern Avenue. It is a very good place for hard core non-veg people.
Ambience is simple yet very nice, music being played on background adds a special charm.
Staffs are very cordial and well mannered.
Pocket pinch is reasonable with good quality.
I went there for a special food tasting event.
The menu were as follows -
Starters :
1) Onion ring- slightly sweet taste, crispy & well cooked served with mayonnaise.
2) Baby Corn Fritters- was crispy , juicy and a tasty snack.
3)Mushroom Fritters- was also crispy and nice.
Main Course -
1) Pork Chops - pork chop is a cut taken perpendicularly to the spine of the pig and usually containing a rib or part of vertebra , served as an individual portion. This dish was very juicy, tasty, beautifully garnished with veggies and fries and a must try. A signature item of Route 17.
2) Chicken Stroganoff - was also garnished fairly and tasted nice , juicy and very savoury.
3) Veg Cannelloni Florentine pasta - was absolutely delicious, juicy and a must try.
4)Roast chicken - was fresh, soft, tender, nicely garnished and juicy.
5) Ham steak Hawaiian - a must try item, so soft , succulent and palatable. Garnished with mashed potato , which was so buttery. Again another signature item.
6) Veg Steak - was very tasty and nicely presented.
Route 17 is surely a gem of Kolkata for its steaks. A must try .

ধন্যবাদ Rajdeep Bhattacharjee কে এরকম একটি মনোরম দুপুরের সাক্ষী করার জন্য । প্রথমত যেটা না বললেই নয় সেটা হল আপ্যায়ন , মনে রখার মতো । আর সব থেকে বড় ব্যাপার হছে খাদ্য মান অসাধারন । প্রথমেই যেটা নজরে পরবে সেটা রেস্তোরার আভিজাত্য , এবং সত্যিই নজর কারার মত , খুব সুন্দর করে সাজানো গোছানো। আলাদা করে কার সাথে সময় কাটাতে চাইলে আদর্শ তার জন্য আলাদা ঘরের ব্যাবস্থা আছে । হালকা একটু রোদ ছিল সেদিন তো গিয়েই প্রথমে আমের জুস দিয়ে শুরু করেছিলাম ।। এর পর প্রারম্ভিক এর পালা । সেই পালা সাঙ্গ হল অনিওন রিঙ , বেবি কর্ণ ফ্রিটারস এবং মাশ্রুম ফ্রিটারস এর সাথে। স্বাদে মানে অসাধারন আর এর মাত্রা আরও বারিয়ে প্রত্যেকটির সাথে আলাদা আলাদা সস এর ব্যাবহার । সূর্য তখন মধ্য গগনে তাই তাকে অনুসরন করে আমরাও তখন আসতে আসতে ভোজন এর মধ্য ভাগে প্রবেশ করলাম ভেজ ক্যানেলনি ফ্লরেন্তাইনের সাহায্যে । যা নিরামিষ খাদ্যের মুখ উজ্জ্বল করেছে বলা যায় , সুস্বাদু পাস্তা দিয়ে স্বাদ বদল । । এর পর একটু মাংসাশি হওয়ার পালা । তাই সেই পালা শুরু হল চিকেন স্ত্রগানফ সহযোগে । দারুন সুস্বাদু , এর পর সেই পালা অব্যাহত রাখতে সামনে এল র্যার বিফ সটীক । সাথে আলুমাখা টা যেন জমিয়ে দিল সব কিছু , খেয়ে মুখ থেকে আহা বেরিয়ে আসতে বাধ্য । এবার সব প্রতিক্ষার অবশান ঘটিয়ে সামনে হাজির পরক চপ , আর মিনিট দুয়েকে চেটে পুটে সব সাফ । শেষের দুটি শুনে হয়ত অনেকেই মুখ বেকাবেন কিন্তু আমর মুখ তো এমনিই বেকা তাই গোগ্রাসে গিলে নি । সব মিলিয়ে খুব সুন্দর একটি দুপুর ।

I was overjoyed to find out a latest addition to the steakhouse list of the city, ROUTE 17 , located on ground floor of a building at sarat Chatterjee road , interiors done in several sections starting from
-a couple dining on the outermost room with violet cushioned chairs and unfortunately wobbling tables ,
-one inner narrow space placing few tables for four , Family dining might seem a bit claustrophobic owing the tables are closely placed one after the other in such a narrow space.
- a small room with three hookah tables ,
-and an area for group sitting at floor level.
The service was pretty nice and efficient.
We had CHICKEN CORDON BLEU which was the best dish i had here , GRILLED FISH IN LEMON BUTTER SAUCE came as a single small fillet of fish cooked well but the portion did not justify the price. The next session was with BRAISED PORK WITH PINEAPPLE , which was a new combination for me and i liked the quality of the meat , the pineapple more but the bland gravy could have been made tastier. The next dish that followed was POT ROASTED MEAT SHANK which was the spoiler of the day . The meat was too hard to cut , the sauce it was tossed in was the same as the pork with pineapple and even more sweet , on complaining it was thankfully replaced by them with CHICKEN MONT BLACK which we quite enjoyed as well. From dessert we chose CARAMEL CUSTARD and the texture of the custard was amazing.
As far as food is concerned , the quality seemed impressive , still few recipes can be improved and a little twist in each item by the chef can make them a hit. Service had no complains.
One suggestion : The seating arrangement however needs to be modified. Family seating in that narrow middle space is definitely a no no for many , instead a mix and match of tables for two and four over both the rooms could be a much better way of managing the space.
P.s. they have an ongoing offer for lunch where you get one free maincourse on ordering three i.e. 3:1 which made our meal quite pocket friendly within Rs 1100. Drop in soon to avail the offer 😉

In all my visits to Kolkata, I have never had steak so when this steak place was listed in Hidden gems I just had to try it and I am really glad that I did. This is one of the nicest restaurants that i have been to in Kolkata. A huge part of this can be attributed to the server we got, Rajdeep who was very polite, welcoming and gave us good advice on the food. The decor is chic and the place generally looks pretty classy with really good wooden furniture and the bottle lighting. They even serve water in the long stemmed glasses. We had a virgin mojito to start off our meal, it was pretty standard stuff. Now coming to the food we had 1 tenderloin steak and chicken cordon bleu. The steak was cooked medium rare, it was juicy and tender. The sauce they served it with was also very tasty. They also gave a side of mashed potato which was buttery and tasted so freakin good. The chicken cordom bleu was also pretty good. The crust was crispy, chicken was pounded very well, it was not breaking apart and crumbling. So overall the food was pretty damn good. Will definitely visit the place again

Newly opened restaurants have always allured me, so how could I miss this tempting toddler. Though all the credit goes to our very own Zomato and their handpicked collections.
Now coming to the restaurant, it's very easy to locate. Situated at a lane in sarat bose road,this place is the appetence for continental food lovers. Not a huge place to dine in, but very cleverly graced. We ordered :
> Fish Florintine - I had no idea that a dish featuring spinach could taste this delicious. Just a little salt could have made it the perfect plate.
> Lasagne - Tasted so rich yet so light. Perfect balance of flavours, beautifully baked.
> American crepe suzette- This sweet and tangy dish was the star of the night. Highly recommended.
Overall a wonderful experience. Surely gonna visit again.
Tried this new place Sarat Banerjee Road....The food was really awesome, much better than the multiple traditional stalwarts in Kolkata. The chicken Ala Kiev was particularly awesome. The ambiance was great really great with a private room available for groups of 10 -12 people which is really a novel arrangement
Awesome food with fantastic atmosphere......I love the service also. The desert is best part of the food and of course I love to come here again n again .
Excellent food, they have really improvised on the menu rather than keeping the same old format. The quality,taste & the quantity is perfect. Only issue is the plate they are serving on. It is advisable to use glass or porcelain plate rather than melamine once which would be more classy.The best part service tax is not charged. What you order is exactly what you pay.I reside in DumDum but I wish to visit there again though it is pretty far from my place.
First time been to this place. Amazing food. The stewards were very pleasing. Roast turkey with plum sauce was the highlight. Surely would like to come here again.

Being the last day of 2016, I thought it would be good idea to try a new place & this new place surprised me with such sumptuous & yummilicious food. This place is the newest addition to the city's scarcely populated Steakhouse arena. Located opposite to the lane that boasts of big names like The Wall, Xrong Place and Tolly Tales, this budding European eatery is poised to garner attention and win accolades in the coming months. Although it is pretty easy to locate, the low-key setup is likely to pave way to a blink-and-miss situation. The place, from the outside, seems more like a residential building advertising a local restaurant. And eventually you notice the entrance!
Three different sections have been fabricated distinctively - A dual-seating section, a family section and a private space for large groups. There is also a smoking zone which would prove greatly significant upon the incorporation of a bar. Nothing fancy about the decor but the ambiance is pleasant and the attendants cordial. Being an avid fan of old rock music, I enjoyed the quality of music that was being played.
Despite the attendants being highly insistent on making me and my friend try their special festive menu, we stayed put to our steak cravings. The Tenderloin, served with veggies and mashed potato, was juicy and delightful.
We were interested in availing the offer of a free dessert upon the order of two main course items when they informed us that the offer is NOT available. That was a little disappointing considering the offer being clearly advertised on Zomato. I did not find that a very appreciable gesture to lure customers.
We wrapped it up with the tongue-burning sizzling brownie with vanilla ice cream, a delightful combination of hot and cold.
The quality of food is really impressive and the location makes the restaurant a crowd puller for sure. Slight alterations in decor and the introduction of a bar would work wonders here. Cheers to the team.

Visited this exotic steak house today!! Located in a lane in sarat bose road.. This restaurant is THE spot for steak lovers!! This restaurant has simple yet nice and comfortable interior.. The most significant thing about this place is their staffs. Really cooperative and they helped us to order the best and make our dinner special... As this place is completely new, we were the only customers at that time.. Currently they r not charging with any tax, making this place quite reasonable... Now, coming to the food. We ordered
1) Bacon wrapped prawns as starter
2) Roast turkey with Plum Sauce ( which was a part of their xmas celebration menu)
3) and California Fish Steak as the main courses...
As, we were too full, we couldnt take a dessert but they have some amazing dessert options as well..
Well, the bacon wrapped prawns were extremely delicious.. In short, a perfect treat to the mouth..
Now, coming to the turkey preparation.. It was nice, quite good. The juicy turkey went absolutely well with the plum sauce.. The turkey was nicely cooked and very flavorful.. Then the California fish steak was also good ... The rice was fluffy and aromatic and the fish fillet was also a balance of crispy, juicy and fresh.. Overall, i had a great experience.. Highly recommended for steak lovers and surely coming back to try my hands on their other dishes and desserts...
Steak lovers unite! There's a new steak house in the city. Very average decor but it's pretty much doable coz when the delicious food arrives you don't really need to concentrate on your surroundings. Tried the pork chops, chicken ala Kiev and tenderloin steak, loved the amazing taste.
A small diner with special assorted menu. We ordered chicken soup, quantity wise it was huge. Taste was good, tasted better with garlic bread. Bacon wrapped prawn- the show stopper i must say. It was absolutely amazing.
We had also ordered roasted turkey , it was Christmas special, it was just better than good.
The steaks we ordered was ok, expected better. We ended with caramel custard nd montecarlo. Montecarlo was just amazing. Definitely gonna come back and try sone new steaks.

The not even a month old place might not be high on the decor factor but they excel in where they are meant to! The food is superliciously yumm!! Steak factory was and now Route 17 is! My new favourite steak place. 😀😀
Loved their well done tenderloin steak and their pork chop! Both the dishes are perfect for a person each. Served with fries and veggies. Prices are extremely reasonable. The place is divided into three parts - two seaters, family seating arrangements, and a hookah place! The owner was extremely nice, he came up to speak to us, even recommended us with the dessert! On his behest, tried the caramel custard. The custard was perfect, so was the steak. Excellent! Will be going back for more.
Kolkata has a new steak place, and I’M ALL EXCITED! Ok, I know I have been saying this a lot. But, it’s not my fault that from Chinese to cheesecake, everything gets me jubilant. And, since Kolkata has so few restaurants dedicated to steaks, I am all excited about Route 17 – Steak House in Southern Avenue. Sue me! But, I have just tasted the Christmas Menu at Route 17 – The Steakhouse. Now, if you don’t mind, I will now start singing in its praise.

Gastronomical extravaganza of Steaks at Route 17-The Steakhouse.!
Looking for some good quality steaks? Route 17 – The Steak House is the place to be. Located conveniently at Sarat Banerjee Road, very close to Tea Trove, this is a revamped place of the previously established Route 17. The signature items and bulk of the house specials focuses mostly on the Steaks and other Continental Dishes, and rightly so, the steaks here are amazing. The interior is quite simple and has little of the mushy texture you get to see these days. But when it comes to food, they simply excel at what they do. Very recently, Team Panchphoron was called to try their Winter Special Menu, and little did we know the surprise beholding us.
We sampled a couple of items like Duck, Turkey, Tenderloin Steak and others, each of which had a distinct taste of their own. They would be having Salami Pork, Salami Chicken, Salted Beef, Chicken Galantino, Roast Turkey with Plum Sauce, Duck Ala Orange, Mixed Grill and Roast Pork with Apple Sauce. The Chicken Galantino was a cold cut, with plums and raisins as enhancers to infuse a sweet taste. The Chicken was soft, and had a Salami like texture. Dipping it in the Orange Sauce contrasted the flavor of the Chicken very well, and this is a must try this winter.
The Mixed Grill had portions of boneless chicken, roast chicken leg, chicken, mutton kidney and sausage. The Meat Goulash was excellent and had a brown pepper sauce to go with it. Being accompanied with mashed potatoes, sautéed onions and grilled vegetables, this was a meal in its own. The Roast Pork with Apple Sauce was a thing of beauty. The Pork was soft, and was pretty well done. The Apple Sauce was light in texture, and combining it up with the mini roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables were pure foodgasm.

Discovered this amazing new place with heavenly food in the lanes of sarat bose road.
Ambience- it's a small joint of undoubtedly awesome food with beautiful interiors and a bar( coming up soon during Christmas!)
Food- for starters we had a brand new innovative dish, bacon wrapped prawns with honey mustard sauce which was perfectly soft and juicy. It's highly recommended!!!!!
For main course we had tenderloin steak with mashed potatoes and veggies and one barbeque pork ribs with veggies n fries.. both were mindblowing and the portions served in each dish are huge!!!
We were about to end our lunch here itself when the staffs( very friendly n polite) requested to try out their special sizzling hot brownie with icecream.. so we@ went on!! And this turned out to one the best ever brownie with icecream I had anywhere in Kolkata.. and to add to our surprise the waiters finally informed the dessert was a complimentary one from their side.
This place is truly a little hidden gem in one of the prime location for food lovers.
And to the route 17 staffs- you'll are doing a great job.. will visit again soon when the bar opens! :)

Okay, I finally managed to review this eatery as it definitely deserves some good words for their food and ambience and their hospitality.
Lets start with the food we had..
First, we had Russian salad, which looked appealing at first glance and obviously tasted good , healthyand fresh.
In starters, we had bacon wrapped prawns in honey n mustard sauce ... and it was out of the world!! I must say , being a regular visitor of steak factory and codfather, I never ever had sooooo delicious bacon wrapped prawn ! A MUST HAVE !
Then for the main course, we opted for tenderloin steak and barbeque pork ribs!
The beef was well cooked, soft and tender...And then the pork ribs just won my heart..my taste buds are tingling with excitement just thinking about the dish :D
And then, BAKED ALASKA, icing on the cake! HEAVEN on earth!
You must taste this dessert to get to know what it is..
Finally, a big thanks to you Mr. Prasun Saha , the co-owner of this eatery, for your kind behaviour and hospitality..will visit your venture soon again! CHEERS !!
Super portion sizes, helpful and eager management and a good chef. The restaurant is very new and the décor is probably getting completed. The waiters could be more energetic though.
We had a great experience here last night. A cozy place with well behaved staff, and the tenderloin steaks were cooked with perfection. Bacon wrapped prawns were delicious. We are planning to visit this place again.

I am a regular visitor to The Steak Factory but tonight I wanted to try something new. Searched for a few places on Zomato that serves steak and found Route 17. And m happy that I went there. A cozy place with really well-behaved staff and a very polished owner. Whatever we had is there on the pictures below and finally, I can say that this is one go to place for me whenever I will have those sudden bouts of steak cravings!

Fantastic food ,awesome ambience ,prompt service ...absolutely awestruck ...this resturent is my new farourite for pizza and hukka ......much better than anywhere else fish florentine pot roast mutton in red wine jub ......prawn thermidar specially their pork chop ...b b q pork ribis...@ ....beef goulash ...

My friend has already written about our experience. But I’m gonna do it nonetheless. It’s been that great!
It’s not every day that one has the opportunity to be the very first guest at a restaurant. It’s quite a memorable experience in itself. And when the quality of food and hospitality is top notch, it’s truly the proverbial trifecta!
Having lunch at Route 17 has been a fantastic experience in every sense of the word. The entire staff had a warm and friendly attitude while the service was also prompt at the same time. Being the very first business day and all, even the head consultant chef and the owner were also present who left no stone unturned in making us feel comfortable to the point where it was almost getting embarrassing in a pleasant way! And the food!!! I guess it’d be safe to comment, without even exaggerating a bit that Route 17 served me the best Tenderloin Steak I ever had. Ever. The portion was way more than generous, it was done perfectly between rare and medium and the way they served it on a platter with the mushroom sauce and all was a sight to behold. They had already offered us a plate of Smoked Pepper Crostini, on the house to begin with. But the sheer look of the steak and the Pork Chops which my friend ordered were appetizing enough! By the time the American Crepe Suzette arrived for the dessert, yet another on-the-house offering, we were about to decline but the sight of the thing hooked our vision and whatever was left of our appetite!
On hindsight, all I can say is that I wish them my very best and hope to return as soon as possible. Apparently they have a bar coming up soon. So, I guess the best is yet to come!
Lunch at Route 17. It was Divine.
Started with Smoked pepper crostini, followed by Pork chops with mashed potatoes n grilled veg for me n Arup tried the Tenderloin steak with mushroom sauce, mashed potato n grilled veg. The food was marvellous n we were pleasantly surprised. The sweet note post lunch was an added bonus...
Must try this place when planning to eat out. Service, ambience and portions were excellent. On top of that its reasonably priced.
They also have hookah. They will shortly open their bar.
They've recently had an image change over. From an Oriental, they are now serving steaks. The ambience is very decent, better inside than outside. The food quality and service are good too.
Delightful evening at Route-17. The Continental fare here was quite the surprise package. A few must tries are the Pot Roast, Ala Kiev, Fish Finger and Mozzarella Cheese Sticks.
Good quality food. Loved their Beef and Pork dishes. Lovely Ambiance.
Nice place, good food, friendly staff, well furnished place... Overall an enjoyable experience. Good to go with small group of people.
Decently good food, for decent prices, loads of room to improve, excellent ambience.
