কলেজে স্ট্রিট অঞ্চলে ভালো খাবারের দোকানের খানিক অভাব আছে বলতেই হয়। সন্ধ্যে হলেই মুড়ি চপ এর বাইরে বেরোনো যায়না। আপনি চাইলে হরেক রকম এবং দামের চপ পাবেন কিন্তু সেটাই একমাত্র ভবিতব্য।
একটু এগোলে পুঁটিরাম অথবা এম জি রোড ক্রসিং এ দিলখুশা কেবিন রয়েছে। কিন্তু কলেজে স্ট্রিট চত্বরে কম দামে খাঁটি চীনে খাবার খেতে চাইলে গুঞ্জনের জুড়ি মেলা ভার।
ছোট্ট একটা দোকানে বেশ ঠাসাঠাসি করেই বসতে হয়। এক চিলতে রান্নাঘরের রান্নাবান্না সামনে থেকে দেখাও যায়। পরিছন্নতার জন্য দারুণ নাম্বার দেওয়া না গেলেও অপরিষ্কার নয় মোটেই।
রাইস ন্যুডলস, চিকেনের যে কোনো প্রিপারেশন, খেলে ঠকবেন না, ফ্রায়েড রাইস খেতে মন্দ নয়, তবে আহামরি নয়।
কম দামে পেট ভর্তি চীনে খাবারের এই অঞ্চলের ওয়ান স্টপ,
অনেকেই এখানে এক বাক্যে শুয়োরের মাংসের নানা পদের প্রশংসায় পঞ্চমুখ হন।

Located in the bylanes of Surya Sen Street, Gunjan is a very old and tiny food joint, serving Chinese delicacies at incredibly cheap rates.
The ambience isn't that great. It's a little cramped inside and can only accommodate 8-10 people at a time. Regardless of it, the food they serve is amazing! The pork dishes, especially are extremely delicious.
Dishes we ordered:
1. Roasted Chilli Pork: This is the best and the most popular pork preparation served by Gunjan and is a highly recommended one. Juicy, succulent pieces of roasted pork are garnished with green chilli, onion and capsicum on top. The spicy flavour of this dish is sure to tantalize your taste buds.
2. Mixed Hakka Chowmein: Good quality noodles are served with a generous amount of chicken, prawns and veggies and tastes amazing!
Every food item in the menu comes either in half plate or full plate. The half plate can satiate the hunger of one person, while the full plate can easily be shared between two people. Both quality and quantity wise, the food deserves praise. Service is also prompt.
If you can overlook the seating inconvenience, and love to taste mouth-watering pork preparations without burning a hole in the pocket, Gunjan is your go to place.

My favourite place to eat during my college....they serve amazing food and that too at pocket friendly rates. The place is quite small so you may have to share the table with others. But after tasting their food you'll definitely ignore all this. I just love the mixed Meinfoon and chilli garlic noodles. Chilli pork and garlic chicken also tastes great. Half plate is usually sufficient for one person so order accordingly.

Located at Surya Sen St, this quaint little place is an iconic eatery serving soulful & delicious Chinese dishes at extremely low rates with a seating capacity of 10! Every section in their menu card comes in two segments : half & full. Half portion suffices one person easily without burning a hole in the pocket!
We tried : Mixed Gravy Noodles, Sweet & Sour Pork, Garlic Chicken & Egg Chicken Fried Rice!
The overall bill was ₹320! To quench your thirst, you can get hold of a cold drink bottle from the shop located just opposite to this heritage place! Service is very quick & prompt paired with excellent quality and quantity of food! Tastewise, brilliant!

We went to Gunjan Chinese Food as a part of our food walking expedition in College Street. This was my first visit here and honestly at the first glance I didn't quite like it. Also the owner was pretty rude to us.
However we still went ahead and ordered Chilly Chicken, Roasted Chilli Pork, Mixed Fried Rice and Mixed Noodles. Mixed Fried was amazing and much much better than Mixed Noodles which I felt was a bit of a let down. Chilly chicken was quite good, however my favorite of the day was Roasted Chilli Pork. It was absolutely amazing and absolutely loved it.
It's a small joint in College street. So if you don't have any fascination for ambience, you must visit this place. This place is all out good Chinese food.

A Few days ago I was near to the college Street area, feeling very hungry and tired. I saw this small outlet it was crowded so I had to wait for my turn. I was not at all impressed by their sitting arrangements and most importantly the ambience was very dull and nothing special is there to mention about it.
*Anyhow I was there just to fulfill my stomach. When I got the food I was surprised by their food quality as well as with the quantity. They were delicious and good in taste and the quantity was also decent. I ordered Mixed Noodles, Chilli chicken and Mixed rice and they were able to satisfy my hunger and appetite. It is one of the hidden gems in college Street area and I would suggest everyone to try their different cuisine at a very affordable price.
If you are a Chinese food lover you are most welcome to Gunjan Chinese food place. The price of food is very affordable and my favorite dish here is the dry chilly pork. Do give this place a try if you ever drop in by college st

The Pork tasted delicious but the chilli chicken ws below par. It lacked the basic taste. The mixed fried rice tasted really good whereas the noodles were a let down. It was too oily. However, you can come down here for their pork dishes.
The Chinese here is to die for. To top it all, Gunjan won't make a hole in your pocket.
Given a choice between any restaurant in the China town and Gunjan, I'd choose Gunjan a hundred times over.

This place owns my heart with their Chili Roast Pork, I went there with one of my friends. We were rushing so just tried their famous Chilli Roast Pork and I can easily say this was one of the best pork I had.

Gunjan Chinese Food is a small Chinese eatery in College Street, Kolkata. It is one of those old places serving in the heart of the city celebrated as one that serves non-veg only.
We tried their Chili Garlic Chicken Noodles and Schezwan Chicken. The gravy wasn't what you find in the regular Schezwan items though. The noodles were pretty fine. Given the price, somewhere close to 200, the quantity is a satisfaction.
A friend of mine took me to this place today. It is located near Mirzapur City College. This place is quite small, hardly contain maximum of 10 customers at a time. Ambience was not very good as well. But the main point was their food, which is quite tasty & priced not too aggresive at all. We ordered special hakka noodles (chicken+pork), it tasted really good. Will visit this place again in near future. 🙂

Service is really fast. I ordered a plate of chicken fried rice and got it in 15 minutes. The Fried rice was very well done. There were ample pieces of chicken; it was neither too oily nor too dry.

এখন খাই খাই বাতিকের প্রাধান্য প্রাপ্তির পর থেকে এদিক ওদিক ঘুরে বেড়াই। তাই মাঝে মধ্যেই সেই শিকড়ের স্বাদের সন্ধানে ফিরে আসি মধ্য কোলকাতার কিছু খাবারের দোকানে।
কলেজ স্ট্রীট বই পাড়ায় ও কলেজ ছাত্রদের কাছে গুঞ্জনের নাম ও তাদের খাদ্যতালিকা একবারে আত্মস্থ। গোটা দশেক লোকের বেশি জায়গা নেই ভিতরে, এখানে খাবার জন্য ভালোই লাইন পরে, যদিও এবার অপেক্ষা করতে হয়নি। আমরা তিন বন্ধু মিলে গেলাম। অকুল সাগরের থেকে সুন্দরী ঝিনুকের খোঁজ শুরু করলাম।

◆ Lemon Fish (সব থেকে সাধারণ, কিন্তু থেকে বেশি ভালো। সাদা সাদা দেখতে কিন্তু লেবুর রস দিয়ে একটা দুর্দান্ত রান্না, অদ্ভুত ভালো খেতে, বার বার ফিরে আসতে হবে এটা খেতে। মাছের স্বাদ আলাদা করে পাওয়া যাবে কিন্তু কোনো উটকো গন্ধ নেই)
প্রসঙ্গে বলে রাখি, Mixed বললে, আলাদা করে বলবেন যদি Pork না খেতে চান, নয়তো ওনারা পর্ক দিয়েই করবেন। 1:2 বা 2:3 অনুপাতে অর্ডার করবেন, একা খেলে অবশ্যই হাফ প্লেট বলবেন।
এখানে স্টার্টার বলে কিছু হয়না, যেটা হয় সেটা হলো ড্রাই, সেমি ড্রাই, সেমি গ্রেভি ও গ্রেভি ভার্সন সব খাবারের।
এখানে পর্ক পাওয়া গেলেও, অতটা নামী নয়। আমার এক বন্ধুর শূকর ভীতির জন্য এখানে এবারে খাওয়া হলো না।

The resraurant is on the way to Armhart Strert from College Street, just beside Surya Sen Street.. If you dont know the place, its hard to find.
But, when its come to food, the taste is just mind blowing.. You shall fall in love with the mouth watering Roast Pork Chilli, the dry one, I would recommend..
Most interestingly, they have over 130 items in the menu. And as a food- adventurous person, every time I visit the place, want to try different items but each and every time got stuck to Chowmin and Chilli Pork..
Come to this place, enjoy the hospitality, enjoy the food and also enjoy a bit of North Calcutta culture...
The one star, I have not give, thats because of their very small capasity for sitting arrangements.. At most only 10 people can sit at once..
But, I highly reccomend this place, to all of you...

The best Chinese food at just your pocket pinch. We even couldn't imagine that the food can be sooo cheap. The taste is really great. We had ordered Cantonese chowmien and cantonese rice with garlic chicken.

Place is very small.. But don't judge a book by its cover!!! All the foods are taste amazing!! tried their chill garlic mix noodles and chilli garlic chicken noodles.. Half place is enough for one person.. And its taste super...also tried mix fried rice and normal chicken hakka noodles with full plate of chilli chicken.. Only disappointment that they gave us 11 pieces of chicken rather than 12.. Also they increase their prices..

Its the food heaven for all the hungry students of the college street area. The sumptuous meal is perfect for the numerous times we end up going there. the food is served almost instantly and we gorge on it and finish our plates within bare minutes every time. Our favorite go-to destination for all those hungry college days forever.

This place is located on Surya Sen Street, the one lying perpendicular to College Street, and this place is about a walk of five minutes away from Calcutta Medical College. There isn't really much of decor or a staff to write abiqut. We had to wait for a bit to get our food, but once the first item came, they all came in a hurry. The place probably seats eight to ten people, and if the weather is really warm, it might be difficult to occupy it's chairs. Now, to the food; we ordered a total of five items. We ordered half a plate of each, and in a few cases, especially with the Fried Rice and Noodles, it was good enough for two people. All the helpings were quite generous. The Mixed Schezwan Fried Rice was an absolute delight with the wonderfully chopped vegetables and pieces of delicious pork, chicken and egg. It was slightly oily, but I do not have a problem with that personally. The Pork Hakka Chow, priced at an astonishingly low ₹ 60/-, had the most delectable pieces of pork in it that had been burnished to perfection, adding to the overall flavour of an already strong dish.This was an absolute knockout and standout. I didn't touch the American Chop Sui we ordered. The Hot Garlic Fish, with it's quite outstanding sauce, was one that is bound to give you foodgasms on the spot, complemented well by the perfectly crispy and soft pieces of fish floating in it, an item I would highly recommend. Finally, I come to the Roast Pork Chilli (Dry), another item that contained the softest and best cuts of pork one could hope for, well fitting with the onions, chillies and tomatoes it was in, although, one wonders, how much better a gravy of the same would have tasted. That, being the dish we had originally ordered but were not served, but something we didn't act on and looked past owing to the legitimate foodgasms we were being given, is something I'd really like to try the next time I'm there along with much else at this fantastic eatery, and I'd urge all of you to go too.if nothing else, the fact that the entire meal described above cost us only ₹ 410/- in all should make you rush there in large numbers.i went here on 5/10/2018 and tasted two items I'd already had before and a new one, the Mixed Hakka Chow ( half), and it was pretty good, but, sadly, as I was to find out, it was not the dish that contained pork, the Special Hakka Chow being the one fulfilling the concerned criterion. Probably the cheapest priced place in Kolkata that serves Pork. A very tiny restaurant located in College Street but that doesn't hamper my intention to go there whenever I am shopping books. People who are accustomed with air conditioners might find it difficult to even sit here since there are only 10 seats to be precise and one is hardly able to move once you sit. Also the fact that the kitchen is attached makes the area even more warm. This is basically a cabin where only food lovers can bear the perspiration and yet can keep on eating. Quantity is nice compared to the price and taste is good. The best time to visit this place is definitely winter but also when it rains and therefore the weather remains cool for a day.

The pork was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. The soup was also good and was quite a lot in quantity, same goes for the rice as well. All in all will be visiting again during the cooler days hoping to Chow down on some pork once again.
Gunjan was suggested one f my foodie student.. finally I was able to visit it yesterday.. its a vry small joint so ambience wise it ll fail to impress you.. bt when it ll come about quality nd quantity.. you ll be surely impressed..we ordered half special chowmein (noodles with egg chicken shrimp nd pork) ndd chili pork dry.. as I don't like much spicy food .. both of them costs 155/- only.. wanna go back agn
Small restaurant. Very good food. Roasted pork is xclnt..but my suggestion is don't go for full plate.always try half plate.only problem is the person who serve food, miscalculate the quantity.
Just 1 minuet walk from my home. Situated in College Street, they provide good Chinese food at reasonable price. I ordered one half mix fried rice which cost only 70 rupees. The half was enough to fill my stomach. But the only drawback was the prawns were a little salty. Overall i love this place.
Two years back I found this place on my frequent strolls along the streets of College Street. Since then whenever I visit College Street, having noodles from this place is something I look forward to. This place serves amazing Chinese food in a reasonable price. In 120 you can get noodles and chilly chicken. Getting good food at such a low price is a dream to the ones who have made College Street their second home. But the one and only disappointing thing about this place is that it can house maximum 10 people and you may have to share your table with someone else. However, after buying the sufficient food for your mind(books), you can consider giving a visit to this place to satisfy the hunger of your stomach.
They have 10 person seating arrangement however it's a bit uncomfortable during the summer since they have just ceiling fans, however take nothing away from the quality and quantity of the food that outranks most well decorated, and tax levied chinese places in the town! Pork dishes were amazing. Half plate of any dish was enough for a single person serving.
I went for lunch today at this place after about four years and honestly it hasn't changed a bit. Michael Ji is still the same and the fod equally amazing still. We had ordered a lot of dishes and I personally had half a plate of pork fried rice and roast chilli pork (dry). Both tasted really good and the quality of meat was amazing. I'd have preferred more meat in my rice but still it was grand.
It was my first day at office after the long Work from home phase and Lunch was an big deal but Thankfully PEKING saved the day..I ordered Szechuan Pork and Mixed Noodles both are my favorite .. and it was so yummy ... the quantity and toppings in mixed noodles was really very good too... Ordered chilli chicken , chill chicken with capsicum and onion and dry pepper chicken. The food was excellent, quantity was ample value for money. Delivered absolutely on time even though I forgot to send the address, just mentioned the landmark.

It's a new Chinese Take-away joint in Panditiya (near City Style at Triangular Park, South Kolkata). I came to know about it from an acquaintance and first ordered from this place in Aug 2022. Thereafter I have ordered from them so many times that I have lost count actually. I mean if I have to order Chinese food in Kolkata then Peking is the place!
Quality, Quantity, Packaging & Taste - excellent. Generally I go for take away instead of delivery. But I have heard their delivery is also fine.
In terms of food I will definitely recommend roasted chilli pork and mixed noodles (gravy/ hakka as per your preference).

Tried for the first time today. Was really impressed with the customer handling, speedy delivery firstly. Delivery was swift and hassle-free. I ordered Mixed Fried rice, Mixed Noodles and Chilli Chicken. The taste was exemplary and the portion was wholesome. The taste reminded me of Pao Chien Chinese Restaurant which has closed, idk if the owner is the same. The price is also pocket friendly. Will definitely order again.
Tried so many Chinese restaurants glad I have found one that actually tastes delicious. Best joint for authentic Chinese in Kolkata. Must try. Very fast delivery and piping hot. Special Thanks to Raisa and team for arranging seamless delivery at odd hour.
